What was wrong with him? He had killed dozens, maybe even hundreds of walkers, he had even killed a living, breathing person but yet he felt tense just holding the body of a small, rabbit. He didn't feel guilty—especially when it came time to eat—but he felt this weird uneasiness that he couldn't seem to explain.

I was always very proud of this little piece here. Chapter 2 is one of my personal favourites, despite the name which I have come to dislike. Louis and Aasim's interactions were always some of my favourites in the game, so I had to have them spend more time together hunting in the fic as well. Maybe I'll bring them back for another chapter soon?

This little paragraph has always been a favourite of mine because of how it helped shape the story in such a crucial way at such an early point in the work, specifically Louis' story and how I planned to explore him as a character. I wanted write about how the apocalypse shaped people, and the idea that not everyone is cut-out to be this powerful, walker-slaying badass, something the games only touched on from time to time.

Plus the image of Louis holding the rabbit has always been a nice one to me. I think it's one of the more iconic (question mark?) images in BtBG, though tbh I wouldn't know what my readers think are the most memorable/evocative images. I can think of a few, but most of them would just be Clem and Louis locking lips LMAO.
