The family wouldn’t invest in sharp-edged tables, desks, dressers, or bed frames. that translates to Toby is great at taking care of himself and is always aware of what’s wrong with him or the potential consequences of his actions. He’d learn to check bones, fix swelling, massage or medicate whatever ails him. he'd also prefer plastic in case he jams a fork in his eye or tosses his plate lol (this is debatable but he could also b maximalist cos his childhood home felt too bare, or he’s a minimalist n gets nervous in stuffy rooms cos he’s not used to it but this is also dependent on the amnesia)

I also think he’s aware of his life expectancy (25 as of) so he lives with purpose cos everyday could be his very last if u don’t headcanon slender immunity n being immortal. (But either way, his age chart was pretty clear on 30 being his last, so fly high ticci toby)

tbh I think I like writing it cos I’m a full time caretaker so I have to think abt these things lol but even tho it’s hard to account for, I think Toby’s character knows how to handle it. Double checking himself, feeling where pressure feels different, aware of how hot or cold somewhere can be and doubling up on what he needs, constant watch and timer for meal time, shit time and sleepy time, just overall paranoid preparing for the worst, never chill. It would also affect anyone else around him (ie the proxies) u would b surprised how quick ppl start to pay attention to their surroundings when the disabled person trips they don’t usually let that happen twice.

I like to think that no matter how u view Toby, being incredibly smart or incredibly stupid, he can definitely take care of himself and others for that matter, despite the circumstances n that alleviates the narrative jus a tad.

I hate Toby having CIPA so much 😭 like narratively it fucks hard bc Toby canonically would antagonize his dad whenever his dad started to get aggressive. to put his dad's focus on him and not his sister or mother. Like literally the youngest person in the household purposely putting himself in physical danger to protect the women in the family because he knew he wouldn't feel the pain. Puppeteer canonically calls Toby "his favorite punching bag". Toby likely thinks of himself and his body that way. he is a punching bag. that's his job.

And admittedly it's terrifying to imagine Toby trying to chase down and kill you, and finally you grab hold of a weapon and stab him, and he has...no reaction. doesn't even flinch. doesn't even notice you stabbed him.

But realistically speaking his CIPA is hell to write for because you have to ignore the fact that Toby most likely would have bitten off his own fingers or tongue as a child because HE CANT FEEL PAIN. And with Tourettes causing his body to move in unpredictable ways no doubt his injuries get even worse!

You wanna know what people with CIPA are most likely to die of? Overheating. CIPA also makes you unable to sweat or feel temperature. HE LIVES IN THE WOODS!!! AND HE CANT SWEAT!!!!! He has NO way to keep himself cool while he's running around trying to kill people

Dude. I have so many Ghibli movie recs. I rlly like the less popular ones (?) tbh, like Porco Rosso, Ponyo (huge on ponyo bc. Fish.), The Wind Rises (just watched), From Up On Poppy Hill (watched yesterday) and Earwig And The Witch (I was shocked ppl didn’t like that movie??? The song is so banger). Honestly all Ghibli movies are beautiful, but I do find some “cult classics” kind of boring at times. I honestly didn’t like My Neighbour Totoro that much??? It just felt overrated to me. I guess I also don’t like that Totoro is so fucking loud but. (I watch Ghibli movies to help me sleep better (I’ve been getting a lot of nightmares and paranoid feelings recently and since Ghibli movies r so cute in comparison to a pitch dark room after watching a shit ton of horror content). Honestly my favourite Ghibli movie so far that you should def watch is Porco Rosso. Just a silly pig man who flies an airplane and gets a baddie bro (Ghibli used to have a thing for airplanes and not just the acid trip fantasy worlds but I find that really kewl :3)

I’ve actually heard of xxxholic but I never knew anything about it 😞. I barely ever read manga even tho I rlly want to. I HATED clear card animation, it didn’t feel like the old one at all. I guess they were just moving w the trends and the bloom effect, but I liked the old style 🙁. Yeah it’s very interesting to me to imagine the “Pokémon regional variants” of ships lmao. i think i've mentioned it but im a big fan of them Bein Bros. classic sibling rivalry where they push each other into mud puddles and call each other dums dums (wars is several years older than him, a grown ass man, saying the words "dum dum." twi has no problem lowering himself to that level too honestly) but then will literally lie their own lives down for each other

they roughhouse a lot. twi lightly kicks him in the shins during an Important Team Meeting and they both completely fucking devolve into a shoving match until time has to stare at them like a disappointed teacher waiting for his classmates to be quiet

it's all lighthearted, of course. they love and care for each other dearly. their brand of bickering is somehow much different from wars' and legend's. can't rly describe it well, but the best i can do is that ledge and wars' bickering evolved like: idiot /petty -> dumbass /friendly -> utter fucking buffoon /affection. meanwhile wars' and twi's bickering is more like: hey NUTHEAD dinner's ready. hate you btw /lie . if u even care. oh also do u wanna see this cool new thing i bought. i got ur favorite milkshake while i was in town

they will go from trying to kill each other (affectionately) to sitting by the fire and infodumping to each other abt their special interests within minutes

also big fan of them finding differences between their lifestyles. wars is a city boy and twi is country, so they often have very different experiences. they're walkin in the woods and wars freezes and lightly slaps his arm to get his attention. twi looks over and just sees a turkey walkin around. "literally what is that. twi. twi" "it's a fucking turkey get it together"

it might seem like they're terrible at working together but they are Not they r excellent and when it's serious and dire they will both switch to No Bickering Mode and Cooperate. they're mature enough to know the time and place for it. my version of twi mainly uses a crossbow, and wars teaming up w somebody who's long-range and a damn good shot produces some devastating circumstances for the enemy
