I love how when I was a child and I first read the books / watched the movies Boromir was ma least favourite member of the fellowship and now I just love him so much?

obsessed with how in the book Boromir comes to Rivendell and tells about the hardships Minas Tirith is going through fighting an ever losing war with no allies but still doesn't come asking for more men, just for council. And Aragorn decides to tell him that the rangers have been doing the same thing but have a harder fight than he has in Gondor. Like stfu Aragorn let the man tell how he suffers without telling him how it really isn't all that bad.

Legolas is greatly offended

Ngl, obsessed with the idea that the questers know that legolas is, if not thousands of years, then centuries old, but it not regestering until he mentions having met their ancestor or a historical figure to them. It doesn’t help that legolas looks like a teenager.

Just like that scene with eowyn realizing aragorn is a legit grandpa but with legolas and the rest of the walkers instead.

Legolas: i never had the pleasure of having a conversation with the man, but from the brief glimpses of (insert boromir’s ancestor from 1000 years ago here) that i saw, he was an honorable man.

Boromir, bluescreening: yes, he was known as quite the chivalrous man. But for you to have met him you must be at least a thousand years old!

Legolas: *clicks tongue and doesn’t say anything with an amused smile*

Aragorn, who has gone through all these emotions already: older.

Gimli: Older?? Are you telling me that this beardless, pointy elf with a face of a teenager is, what? 2000?

Aragorn: more.

Gimli: MORE???

Merry: if he is close to 3000 years than he was probably born around the last war for the ring!

Pippin: alright, so legolas is 3000 and a few centuries. That’s a lot older than i thought to be honest. He looked like the youngest elf in rivendale.

Legolas: i’m 4000, actually.

Gimli: GODDAMN IT! I knew we shouldn’t trust these babyfaced point ears! You can’t even tell their age!

Legolas: if it makes you feel better, other elves also have a hard time discerning the age of silvans. They’ve routinely thought of mine to be millenia younger that we actually are.

Told Mr Balls that my headcanon was that Boromir, Gimli and Aragorn taught themselves to fart on command and spent half their time on the quest doing so right next to Legolas and his super sensitive spidey senses, both as a bonding exercise and to piss Legolas off. Yes. YES.

When movie!Boromir says "by the blood of my people your lands are kept safe", I just get chills. The strain in his voice, the despair, he feels their sacrifice, he feels their suffering. The fact his home has been at war for years, that he seen so many deaths, so much destruction, hasn't been enough to numb him to the loss. He loves his people, he loves his home. And the Ring promises him an instant end to all of that.

It's hard to feel that the temptation the Ring has for him, more than the rest of the Fellowship, is due to a comparative lack of virtue on his part, and more a desperate urgency to end the bloodshed of his people. Although other members of the Fellowship have fought and suffered defending Middle Earth at this point, it is Boromir who lives in sight of Mordor, it's Boromir whose people live in sight of Mordor.

Of course the Ring is going to tempt him the most,

Pippin thinks Legolas is a woman

Boromir is convinced that the hobbits are all 15 max

Everyone thinks that Merry and Pippin are twins, except for Legolas, who is convinced the hobbits are quadruplets

Sam thinks that Aragorn, Boromir and Legolas don't have to eat to survive

Legolas doesn't mention things he sees or hears because he thinks the others have noticed them too and just assumes they have a plan

Pippin complains that he is hungry and Legolas just gives him a handful of grass. Pippin is so confused that he just takes it, and now Legolas tries to figure out what hobbits can eat by just giving them random shit, like

Things the hobbits have accepted and likely eaten later (a list by legolas)

-Grass - Leaves

-Stones - a hair tie

-A feather - one of Gimli's shoes

The hobbits and Gimli just assume that this is what elves eat
