my favourite thing about being a reader is looking up fanart of the books after and seeing that another individual human being perfectly replicated what I saw in my head, and created a drawing of it. that’s probably one of my favourite things on earth. when I finished Gideon The Ninth and looked up fanart it was like people took my thoughts and visions and perfectly displayed it in a drawing or a painting. are you kidding me??? that’s so fucking cool. god bless artists

I remember there was an unendurable sadness in me; I wanted to cry; I was constantly astonished and anxious: it had a dreadful effect on me that all this was foreign, that I understood. The foreign-ness crushed me.
