Mock Book Cover 20: 'Wild Swans' by Hans Christian Anderson

Embarrassingly I was halfway through this project I had a big 'oh duh' moment. I've done a bunch of fairytale illustrations... I might be able to use those!

The Challenge: Create a book cover in as little time as possible (don't look at me like that I have work and, shockingly, a full roster of commissions. Name of the game is fast or not at all). I am not allowed to make new art or illustrations for the covers, it must all be either old art I've made repurposed, or stock images. I have to make them on Photoshop, using only my trackpad (because I don't want to dig up my mouse from wherever it's hiding). And yes, the weird digital layer is on purpose in hopes of dissuading scrapping. Part 2 is to try to actually edit them into videos for TikTok, wish me luck!

I asked a friend for a recommendation for a site where people sell premade book covers you can buy the rights to and use for your own books, and I went through the site and discovered that at least one (1) of the assets the artist uses for their photoshops is AI generated, so my brain just INSTANTLY went:

"Well I guess the only way I can prevent something AI generated on my book cover is if I make it myself"

and then I spent the next 5 hours looking at over 52,000 book covers while on the side watching videos on book cover designs so I can (one day in the future) draw mockups for my own books and (one day) talk to a professional artist to turn said mockup into a professional book design

Mock Book Covers 14-17: The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer

I'm pretty happy with how they look all together. I like how the color story gets darker then lighter again and the image changes, but the forest stays the same.
