Hard to believe but I’ve been chasing Zac on two wheels for 30 years now. Literally thousands of miles together from BMX bikes in 1994 to some of the most amazing trails and roads I’ve experienced last week in Knoxville. With the rides fewer and farther between these days the shared miles carry more weight.

chapter nine
Gary had a distinct ranking of the best events that happened in his life: landing a punch on Brock Samson, Christmas, getting his first BMX bike, and meeting the cast of Firefly.
Little did he know that he would be adding a new event to that list this evening: losing his virginity.
The combination of a few glasses of red wine throughout dinner and seeing you in the dress that seemed to accentuate your figure perfectly (he’d have to thank Sheila on a later day for that) led to the compromising position Gary found himself in - his large sweaty palms resting on your hips with you sat between his thick thighs as he savored the taste of your soft lips.

You lean forward, causing Gary’s grip on your hips to tighten as he feels your soft chest rest against his. Your lips press against his chin, placing a trail of kisses that leaves him trembling beneath your touch before your hand reaches up to cup his stubble jawline to press a reassuring kiss on his lips. 
“I’ll take good care of you, okay?” You purr softly against his ear, causing him to let out a groan in response. “Let me know if you want me to stop at any point, we’ll take things slow.”
He nods eagerly, following your lead as you slide off his lap and take his hand, guiding him to the bedroom. His heart is pounding through his chest and his hands are damp from sweat as his wandering eyes get sucked into the hypnotic sway of your hips. Gary gulps, his Adam’s apple bobbing as you take a seat at the edge of your bed, beckoning him with the curl of your finger to join you.

Gary rolls his eyes playfully before turning back to face you, his large frame pinning you down and towering over you as he rests his hands by your hips, sinking into the mattress. He leans down to press kisses on your neck, tickling you with his stubble before his hand tugs at the zipper at the back of your dress, “You’re a bit overdressed, m’lady. Not really fair if I’m the only one half naked.”
You hastily unzip your dress, you and Gary’s hands both impatiently tugging the fabric off before it drops to the floor, being left in just your bra and panties. Gary’s mouth goes dry at the sight, one of his hands cupping your breast through the lace bra while the other fumbles with the clasp at the back.
The moment he unclasps the pesky piece of lingerie, Gary’s fingertips fumble against your hardened nipples, shuddering at the sound of your moans as he squeezes and tugs on them. “Oh my god, they’re so soft.” He mutters.

cyclist hate is so cringe. can you imagine hating somebody for riding a bike and following cyclist laws. if you see a cyclist with a nice road bike, cycling jersey, reflectors, expensive looking helmet, i promise they are probably following bike laws and have read them. i have to remind people all the time they're literally following the law lol. a crackhead with a bag of 40s on a children's BMX bike however, may or may not be following cyclist laws. i recommend any drivers go and read up on those for your state before you get pissed about somebody "riding in the road" cuz if there's no bike trail or lane that's where they ride lol

Sonic (The Hedgehog)
Sonic is effectively a simulation of what happens if an AI guided missile gains sentience. This is most apparent in Sonic Adventure 2 [SA2], where he is literally dropped from an aircraft carrier in a guided missile strike against the Military Industrial Complex.
[SA2] set the defacto standard on what a Sonic game *should* be, with the follow up handheld titles following in its footsteps. Bringing the new mechanics to the old style 2D platformer we know and love.
The latest Sonic Game approaches a post civilization SonicWorld very much in the same vein of the FFXIV Endwalker expansion. Melancholy, devoid of hope, devoid of other people to interact with. But endless expanses to explore. And memories to reminisce about.
This feels like a sequel to the failed SonicRPG.
[SA2] set the standard because this was a time where extreme sports dominated our culture. Skateboarding, BMX, MotoX, Snowboarding, even Rollerblading occasionally became huge.
SA2 cashed in because Sonic was the poster-child for Extreme Sports. He was biologically designed to be extreme.
There's a series of Mods for Jet Set Future, one includes a modification of the first SA1 level with some JetSet mechanics included.
Essentially playing JetSet, while completing a sonic level.
This is how I feel a Sonic title should be. Faster, Extreme, and Stylish. Take away the points for chaining tricks together and use the tricks as alternate modes of getting towards your goal, and that's what a Sonic game should feel like.
The latest Sonic game, while I haven't played very much of it, seems to have a mindset of putting a bunch of different visually interesting launch pads to change the dynamics of traversal, but it feels more sandbox-y. More like a SkatePark. Not that it's a bad thing. SA1 features something similar, being able to run around the world exploring before jumping into the next painting to collect stars to unlock the next stage and new areas.
Oh wait .. did I get my games mixed up? I don't think so it, that sounds right.
What Sonic tends to get wrong most of the time, is that Sonic is a character that has learned everything from extreme sports, and instead of going to the skate park, the whole world is his skate park. And he uses his insane free running abilities to get to goals completely.
Sure he's super fast, but that's not his whole character. He also does things that look like tricks that have a meaning in regards to traversal.
I think a Sonic stage should be like a Snow Covered Mountain with multiple trails of different difficulties. They all end up at the same finish line, but you can take different trails based on where they connect, where you start, and how the trail changed over time.

Susan River Fall Colors by Mike Lee
Via Flickr: The Susan River Canyon near Susanville California, USA is a beautiful area 365 days a year. But it can be absolutely vibrant if caught on the right autumn day, such as this drizzly October Morning. This image was captured about 2 miles east of the Devil’s Corral Trailhead on the Bizz Johnson Trail. It’s looking upriver from very near one of the two tunnels on the trail, which is an old railroad grade that is now part of America’s vast Rails to Trails network of such grades turned to paths for non-motorized travel. “The Bizz” follows what was long ago part the Fernley and Lassen Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad. It travels approximately 25 miles from the town of Susanville to Westwood, about 16 miles of which is along the Susan River. I’ve spent many years living in the area and now travel the trail as a middle aged man in hiking shoes, many years removed from when I traveled it as a teen on a BMX bicycle.

Motore e batteria Il motore brushless da 250W montato nel mozzo posteriore eroga una coppia di 75 Nm alla massima potenza (attivata dal pulsante BOOST). A differenza di versioni più potenti, in Europa l’EP-2 Pro Boost è omologata 250W e non possiede acceleratore, ragion per cui la velocità è controllata elettronicamente. Il sistema è basato su un sensore di coppia che garantisce assistenza immediata e proporzionale alla spinta sui pedali: secondo la descrizione ufficiale, questo migliora l’efficienza e il comfort di pedalata. La batteria è da 48V 13Ah (≈624 Wh) ed è integrata nel telaio; è rimovibile con chiave per poterla ricaricare separatamente o sostituirla in futuro. Il tempo di ricarica è di circa 6–6,5 ore, tipico per questa capacità. L’autonomia dichiarata arriva a 120 km in modalità PAS (livello 1) – o fino a 100 km come indicato dal venditore italiano – numeri ottimistici ottenibili solo in pianura con pedalata moderata. In modalità solo elettrica (senza pedalata) l’autonomia scende intorno ai 40 km. In pratica, su tragitti misti città/collina è lecito aspettarsi autonomo tra i 50 e gli 80 km con una carica piena, variabili dal livello di assistenza e dal peso del ciclista. Comfort di guida ed ergonomia La EP-2 Boost è progettata per offrire una guida comoda: la sella imbottita è larga e, come segnalato da chi l’ha provata, resta confortevole anche dopo diversi chilometri; il suo profilo moderno aiuta la ventilazione e riduce l’affaticamento sui glutei. I pedali e il manubrio sono posizionati a un’altezza ergonomica, con impugnature antiscivolo ampie (etichettate come “handlebar BMX upgraded” dal costruttore), che consentono una posizione di guida eretta ma stabile. Le gomme cicciotte (20×4,0″) fanno da “ammortizzatore naturale” sulle asperità: in combinazione con la forcella anteriore ammortizzata (tipicamente 80 mm di escursione), attenuano gli urti provenienti dal terreno, riducendo vibrazioni su mani e polsi. Grazie a questi accorgimenti, la guida dell’EP-2 è – come confermano le prove – più confortevole di molte fat bike senza sospensioni. Facilità d’uso e trasporto Essendo una bicicletta elettrica pieghevole, l’ENGWE EP-2 Pro Boost punta molto sulla praticità. Il meccanismo di chiusura centrale è semplice da azionare: con due rapidi movimenti di sblocco la bici si ripiega in due, abbassando il manubrio e le pedivelle. Il risultato è compatto, pur trattandosi di una fat bike pesante: da aperta misura circa 177×120×100 cm e pesa sui 26–27 kg (valore paragonabile alla Fiido M1 Pro da 26,8 kg). Non ci sono ruote o leve dedicate per spostarla a bici chiusa, quindi in ascensore o su treno va portata sollevata, ma le dimensioni rimangono ragionevoli per una fat bike. L’avvio della pedalata assistita è intuitivo: basta accendere la chiave generale, selezionare il livello di assistenza sul display e partire. Non essendoci acceleratore a pollice, la spinta è permessa solo premendo il pulsante “BOOST” per le partenze o pendenze; il montaggio in serie del sensore di coppia fa il resto del lavoro in modo naturale. La batteria si può facilmente estrarre dal telaio con la chiave (utile per caricare indoor), un plus per chi non può ricaricare nel box. Dotazione tecnologica La dotazione è piuttosto completa per il prezzo. Sul manubrio trova posto un display LCD a colori, che mostra velocità, livello di batteria, modalità di assistenza (e-bike pura, assistita o bici muscolare) e chilometraggio. Il sistema offre 3 modalità predefinite (elettrico, pedalata assistita, solo muscolare) e 7 velocità al cambio, per un totale di 21 possibili rapporti. Sotto il display c’è anche un sensore integrato di luce ambientale che accende automaticamente il potente faro anteriore a LED in condizioni di scarsa luce; il faro illumina molto bene la strada, come confermato nelle prove su strada. Dietro di esso è presente una lente che funge da luce di stop quando si frena, migliorando la visibilità notturna. I freni sono due dischi meccanici da 180 mm (detti “a farfalla” nel marketing ENGWE), dotati di leve in alluminio a tre dita. Non sono idraulici, ma sufficentemente potenti da garantire fermate sicure su asfalto e sterrato leggero. Il cambio a 7 marce è di tipo base ma affidabile (solitamente Shimano a cassetta con leve combinate, come nella maggior parte delle pieghevoli). Nel complesso, ENGWE offre un pacchetto tecnologico adatto alle gite urbane e fuoristrada leggere, senza pretese racing ma con tutti i requisiti standard (dagli attacchi per portapacchi posteriori al sellino semi-gel). Sicurezza e affidabilità La EP-2 Pro Boost trasmette sensazione di solidità grazie al telaio spesso e alle componenti robuste (perni in acciaio, viteria abbondante, ecc.). La guida stabilizzata dal baricentro basso e dalle gomme larghe aiuta a prevenire cadute sui terreni sconnessi. L’erogazione dell’assistenza è abbastanza dolce e controllabile (grazie al sensore di coppia), il che riduce lo slittamento delle ruote in condizioni viscida. ENGWE dichiara una certificazione internazionale e offre 1 anno di garanzia su motore, batteria e controller, fornendo quindi un minimo di tutela post-vendita. In Italia la bici rispetta i limiti normativi (250W, 25 km/h, pedalata assistita), perciò non occorrono patentini o assicurazioni. Bisogna fare attenzione all’alta velocità: la versione internazionale da 750W (non destinata all’UE) può raggiungere 45 km/h, ma il modello Boost europeo è autolimitato a 25 km/h. I sistemi elettrici hanno protezioni IP standard (sospetto IP54 su parti elettroniche), comunque le prove su strada ne hanno mostrato una discreta impermeabilità al bagnato. In sintesi, l’affidabilità è buona per la fascia di prezzo: nessun difetto grave è stato segnalato dai tester indipendenti oltre alla fragilità dei freni meccanici e alla necessità di fissare bene la serratura di piegatura. Rapporto qualità/prezzo Con un prezzo di listino intorno a 950–1.000 € (su Amazon si trova intorno a 999 €), l’ENGWE EP-2 Pro Boost offre un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Per meno di mille euro si ottiene un’e-bike da città e fuoristrada ben equipaggiata, con doppia sospensione, cambio 7 marce, display a colori, luci LED e batteria di capacità elevata. Come riferimento, la Fiido M1 Pro – concorrente diretto – costa circa 1.099 € (in offerta da 1.499 €) ed equipaggia un motore da 250W con 556Wh di batteria; l’ADO Beast A20F (o A20F XE) è più caro (sui 1.400 €) ma offre 65 Nm di coppia e sospensione integrale; la Bezior XF200 si avvicina sui 1.200 € con motore 1.000W, 720Wh di batteria e 130 km di range dichiarati. Alla luce di ciò, la EP-2 Boost risulta estremamente competitiva: per pochi euro in più rispetto a una normale city bike elettrica pieghevole si ottiene una fat bike elettrica più performante e versatile. Il pacchetto ENGWE sembra quindi indirizzato a chi vuole un mezzo “tuttofare” (pendolari, escursionisti leggeri, pendolarismo su treni/autobus) senza spendere cifre elevate. AN Abergavenny man who went on an illegal wild boar hunt with pals in the Forest of Dean, claims that there is a ‘necromancer’ living in the woods.
Semi-professional long-distance runner Johnny Turnip explained, “We stumbled across the necromancer’s lair after a white deer caused Big Tony to crash his Bedford Rascal.
“The ugly albino creature just appeared out of nowhere and stood in the middle of the road staring at us like we were the ones naked and running through the woods without any purpose.
“Now while Big Tony has got the blood of a lot of furry things on his hands and has no aversion to killing innocent animals, he’s very particular when it comes to his vehicle. The last thing he wanted was Bambi’s brains all over his windscreen and so he swerved to avoid the dumb animal.”
Turnip explained that they missed the deer but left the road and clipped a tree stump which caused the van to crash.
“It was a bit A-Team!” Recalled Turnip. “The band went flying about 20 feet in the air and flipped a full 360. Luckily it landed on its wheels, in a sort of clearing. However, whether in panic or instinct, Big Tony pressed down on the accelerator and we we went flying along this forest trail for about 30 feet before I heard him scream, ‘Gertcha! Brakes knackered! Jump boys, jump!’ We opened the doors and bailed just before the Bedford Rascal smacked headfirst into one of the biggest oak trees I’ve ever seen.
“Fair play the way we jumped from the van and rolled effortlessly on the ground must have looked pretty spectacular. It’s not something any of us have had to do since our early twenties but we’ve still got the old magic. Any bystanders would have probably thought we were the S.A.S on manoeuvres rather than just former car thieves.”
Turnip added, “Me and Puerto Rico Paul were a bit dazed from the ordeal at first and just laid on our backs looking at the darkening sky as if to say, ‘What next you bastard?’ However, we’re not millennials and don’t do self-pity. We were soon pulling one another to their feet and wondering if Big Tony had packed plenty of beer when we heard the wailing.”
Turnip recalled, “It still gives me goosebumps to think about it even now. It was a primal cry of absolute grief that could turn a man’s bowels to water. Worse! It was coming from Big Tony. He was on his knees next to his van with his head in his hands. He just looked at us with tears in his days and said, “She’s gone boys. It’s the end of the road for Saucy Lil.
“Now while it was news to us that Big Tony had given his van a name and a female one at that, we both knew the affection he had for his motor. It was slightly perverted to my mind but Tone’s always been a bit on the spectrum when it comes to his relationship with anything with wheels. He was the same with his first BMX. Anyhow, we may have made fun of his weird obsessions, but we respected Tone’s grief, and when Puerto Rico Paul whispered in my ear, ‘Perhaps we should do the right thing and cremate the old bitch?’ I ignored his dark sarcasm. It didn’t come from a good place and right now Tone needed time to mourn his loss.”
Turnip explained that after a few hours of being left alone with Saucy Lil, Big Tony rejoined his friends who were using the last of the power on their phones to play Wordle. He simply announced, “Long may she ride! Let’s unload the old bird one last time and butcher us some boar!”
Turnip said, “They were his last words on his lost love and we didn’t pry. It was sad for us all to see the old van bust up and mangled, but the Forest of Dean was as good a place as any for a vehicle to rust in eternity. Hopefully, it would one day become home to a family of ferrets.”
=Turnip told the Chronicle that after unloading the two crates of lager, four bottles of whiskey, six pouches of tobacco, and ten cans of beans from the van. He was a bit concerned about how they would survive a few nights in the forest.
“I said to Tone, ‘Is this going to be enough?’ He just looked at me funny and said, ‘How much do you plan on drinking JT?’ ’No!’ I said. ‘I’m thinking more of what we’re going to eat?’ ‘We’re going to chow down on some hog, boss,’ he said in a weird American accent. To which I replied, ‘And how the hell are we going to hunt it?’ Paul tapped me on the shoulder and as I turned he pointed a shotgun at me and smiled like a child on Christmas morning. The game was on and the whiskey was in the jar!”
Turnip added, “We had the booze, the smokes, and the gun needed for a successful pig hunt! Admittedly, we didn’t have any water, but there was bound to be a stream nearby. The lack of a tent, sleeping bags, and complete ignorance of exactly where we were could present a few problems further down the line but we were masters of our destiny, born to woman but belonging to the wilderness. We were like a pack of coyotes and no tame dogs were stealing our bone. We decided to set up camp for the night and get drunk. Killing pigs could wait until dawn!
“Big Tony siphoned some petrol from the van and we made a fire. It nearly got out of hand but after a few whiskies, we were joking about accidentally burning the entire forest down. We carried on drinking to the early hours and arguing about who would win in a fight between a crocodile and a bear when the old man of the woods turned up and warned us all about the necromancer.”

Hard to believe but I’ve been chasing Zac on two wheels for 30 years now. Literally thousands of miles together from BMX bikes in 1994 to some of the most amazing trails and roads I’ve experienced last week in Knoxville. With the rides fewer and farther between these days the shared miles carry more weight.
