GESAFFELSTEIN RELEASES “HARD DREAMS”

Today, French techno producer Gesaffelstein releases “Hard dreams”. Mixing punchy synths and basslines, Gesaffelstein creates the perfect storm for a dark wave record, complete with the addition of Yann Wagner’s smooth vocal delivery. Alongside the track comes an official video complete with shattering reflections and industrial sci-fi elements. The visuals and imagery for the album have been spearheaded by Jordan Hemingway (FKA Twigs, Post Malone, Gucci, Acne Studios) in close collaboration with Mike Levy.

The album will be available on Standard vinyl at all physical retailers as well as on an exclusive D2C Luxury 180g vinyl. Die With Your Boots On Part 2: a Vamp! Eddie x Reader fic

“Look, I’m telling you, she would love to see you,” Steve says as he slams the door to his BMW shut.

“I don't know dude, I made her cry the last time she saw me,” Dustin sighs, reluctantly getting out of the car too. Dustin had shown up at Family Video a few minutes before closing, with the intention of asking Steve to hang out and maybe get some fast food. He didn't expect Steve to haul his ass back here. Steve claimed he needed the money for his car instead of footing the bill for Dustin. And when Dustin offered to pay with his allowance, Steve practically yelled about how Dustin needed to save up his money for something that matters, like a plane ticket to visit Suzie or something. Dustin reluctantly put his money back in his wallet and allowed himself to be driven to Steve’s house.

He also didn't mean to make you cry the last time he was over. He accidentally said Eddie’s name in passing, talking about something going on with the campaign they were now working on, as some attempt of going back to normal again. This was the fourth time they were starting a new campaign to try to regain some normalcy.

He never expected the quiet tears streaming down your face and the tight hug you gave him before you retreated to your room again.

“She was filling out job applications tonight,” Steve says, “She’s gotta be pumping herself up to be social. She might be social with you!”

Steve’s assurance doesn't really help.

“Fine, only because I miss when she smiled,” Dustin sounds forlorn, and Steve doesn’t blame him. It’s hard living with your ghost. You aren’t even dead, but you act like it most days. You lost a lot of yourself that day they lost Eddie. Some days, the only way he knows you’re still moving is his freshly done laundry folded and placed on his bed.

But still, not all days are bad. Some days he and Robin have their mean little friend back, with your sarcastic quips and sly smirk that used to drive him nuts. He’s so grateful for those days.

Steve sees light coming from the spare bedroom, so at least he won’t have to wake you up to see Dustin. He fiddles with the keys, always fumbling and accidentally grabbing the key to the back door instead of the front door even though he’s lived here his whole life. You were clever enough to color code your set of keys with sharpie after he handed them over to you, but you hadn’t had a chance to use them yet because the two times you’ve left the house have been with him. Tomorrow, that’ll change.

He opens the door, and hears a thud from upstairs. Your room.

“Get down!” you shout, shoving Eddie down between the bed and the far wall from the door, which he can easily interpret as you wanting him on the floor.

“Yes, ma’am,” He moans, already on his knees and ready to do anything you ask. You shoot him a glare, and he immediately complies, trying to wedge himself under the bed as much as possible. He’s thankful for the Harrington’s attention to luxury and Eddie fits most of the way under comfortably. Two sets of feet come bounding up the stairs, and you figure its Steve and Robin ready to hand you some newer tapes.

“Shhh, I’ll get them to go,” you whisper, before rounding the bed to get to the door before they barged in.

There’s rapid knocking on your door before you can even get to it.

“Y/n? Y/n, are you okay?” Dustin’s voice. Not Robin.

You yank open the door, a little breathless and not entirely, you don’t want them rummaging around.

“Hey, yeah, no, yeah I’m fine.”

“We heard a thud!”

“Oh! Yeah…. I was… dancing.”

Nice fucking save, Einstein. You can practically hear Eddie trying not to laugh from under the bed.

“There’s no music?” Dustin asks, clearly not taking the bait.

You open up the door a little bit farther to show the tv still playing Fright Night.

“You know?” you point at it, “Man, I love that club scene, when Jerry and Amy are dancing? It’s great, cheers me right up.”

But Steve and Dustin aren’t looking at the tv. They’re looking down at the floor. You follow their eyes to what they’re looking at.

Oh. Oh fuck. Eddie’s clothes are in a grimy, bloody pile smack dab in the middle of your floor near the laundry basket. Eddie’s always been bad at getting his clothes in the hamper; countless times you’ve had to tidy up for him so Wayne won’t get after him.

“Y/n, What is that?” Steve asks in a very even tone. You know this tone well, it’s the one he uses when he’s trying to get one of the kids to back away from a dangerous situation. It’s Mom Voice for sure.

You sigh deeply, turning towards the bed.

“Babe, jig is up,” you call, not even trying to turn around to the door knowing your face is on fire and you don’t want them seeing that. Eddie shuffles his way out from under the bed slowly, bumping and jerking against the frame and cursing the whole way. He stumbles to a stand, unsteady on his feet.

“Uh, hi,” he waves weakly.

Steve immediately starts screaming like you did, and Dustin runs back down the hallway towards the stairs.

“Hey! Hey, fuck, stop!” you try to shush him, running towards Steve.

“Steve, shhhh you need to stop yelling,” You try to soothe him looking back and forth between the two men. He straightens out, puffing out his chest like he’s about to be mach and fight.

“It’s just Eddie,” you assure him, trying to put on your best smile. Steve doesn’t break eye contact with Eddie

Dustin comes bounding back up the steps and takes his place again next to Steve, who’s trying to catch his breath after screaming his lungs out.

“Dust… What the fuck is that?” you ask, motioning to his hands and immediately putting your body between them and Eddie.

He holds up the base of a lamp with the bulb and shade taken off.

“What the shit is that?” the teen yells back, gesturing at Eddie, now standing at his full height behind you.

You just sigh deeply, not sure where to start.

“Eds, babe, can you explain it to them? I don’t want to get it wrong.”

You hear Steve question your use of a pet name for him, but let Eddie by you and finally move to let Steve and Dustin into the room.

“It’s probably better if you sit for this news,” you say, taking a spot on the bed before pulling Dustin towards you to come sit. He’s reluctant to put down the lamp, but does so. You notice then that the wire is ripped, like he pulled the thing from the goddamn wall. It’s trash now. Steve doesn’t sit, but leans on the wall by the nightstand you’ve made a home for your books.

They’re as ready as they will be.

“Well, I’m back,” Eddie starts, not sure if they'll be as accepting as you were, “But I dont think I’m human anymore.”

“Like, what do you mean?” Steve splutters, running his hands through his hair nervously.

“I think I might be a vampire…” he pauses, putting his hands up in reassurance, “Or something like that.”

“How do you know?” Dustin asks.

“He drank pig’s blood,” you lean in to tell him, earning you a wide eyed look from Eddie like you weren't supposed to tell them that. You shoot an apologetic smile back at him and he continues.

“Yeah, uh, THAT. I drained a pig. Your heart rates are kind of bothering me, it’s like I can hear your blood pumping. I’ve been… here every night for a week. This is just the first time I was brave enough to get her attention.”

“Why did you call him babe?” Steve asks.

“I uh….” you start, not able to come up with an answer. It feels fucking insane to say ‘oh here’s Eddie, he’s maybe undead but also we’ve been kissing for the past twenty minutes and I love him’ so you just struggle for an answer.

“She’s my girlfriend,” Eddie answers for you. It’s your turn to whip your head around and look at him all wide eyed and shocked.

“Girlfriend?!” Dustin pipes up.

You meet his eyes and all Eddie gives you is a wide, bashful smile.

“Uh, yeah. Liked him for years. Told him when I saw him again because… I had to, yknow?”

“She’s lying, she said she loooooves me,” Eddie adds, and Dustin’s laughing at his antics. Steve still looks apprehensive, but a little calmer than he was before. He’s not gonna attack.

“You know, you guys are handling this way better than I thought you would,” Eddie says.

“Yeah well, you’re still Eddie!” Dustin says, reaching out to fist bump him.

“You don’t look like a vampire,” Steve adds, still careful.

“We don’t know if he actually is,” you’re not sure if your input is actually helpful, but it’s there. You're not sure what he is outside of what he’s told you.

You stand up to reach for Eddie’s hand for reassurance, needing to feel his hand on yours. It's colder than it used to be, but it's still his.

Its honestly an easier transition than you thought. Once Steve got over the initial shock of an undead twenty year old wearing his sweatpants in your room, the four of you talked like everything was normal. Granted, nothing was ever normal for when Eddie and Steve knew each other before this, but as normal as it could be. They're falling into a comfortable pattern of joking with Dustin, and life suddenly feels real again. You’re warm and happy leaning back against Eddie’s chest even though he smells a little and you can't feel a heartbeat.

“And we can put Eddie in your basement during the day because there aren't any windows! We can more all that stupid home gym shit you dont use and-”

“I use that shit, thank you,” Steve interrupts, flexing his bicep, and laughter bubbles out of you.

Both boys freeze, looking at you. You realize then how it's been a while since either of them have heard your laugh. And then they laugh with you and it's all okay.

Eddie shifts behind you, and you turn to him.

“You okay?” you ask, hand coming up to cup his cheek.

He nods against it, closing his eyes gently.

“Better than I thought I’d be. Can I ask something though?”

“Anything, Eds.”

“Can I take a break, take a shower?”

“Yeah, yeah of course.”

He kisses your shoulder before he moves from his spot behind you, taking your towel that's hung on the closet door and quickly heading out of the door.

“Last door on the left!” you call, and he calls back his thanks.

Immediately Dustin and Steve are hounding you.

“How did he get in here?”

“How did you know it was actually him?”

“Does anyone else know?”

“Are you actually going to date him?”

“Is he safe?”

All of which you explain away.

“I let him in. I just knew. Yes, I’ve loved him since I was twelve. I think so, but I think we need to help him transition.”

In all honesty you're not sure how you're going to do that exactly. There's a few farms and a butcher in Hawkins, but you may have to take your beat up old Volkswagon with him to broaden his horizons.

“My dad has some really bloody steaks in the meat cooler,” Steve offers, “Will that… help?”

“It might.”

The two of you nod, that razor sharp understanding between the two of you that's always there when it comes to some topsy-turvy situations, and you change the subject until the little bloodsucker in question returns from his shower.

“Hey, I just realized I no longer have a reflection, do I look okay?” he asks. And you want to tell him he looks beautiful, he looks amazing, like some stunning Adonis in the body of a young adult metalhead.

But all that comes out of your mouth is, “Uh huh.”

“Look, dude, we had an idea,” Steve says, standing and dodging the water droplets Eddie carelessly shakes out of his hair.

“Oh, I’m all ears, King Steve.”

Steve winces at the nickname even though he knows Eddie doesn't mean it maliciously. Eddie watches him and definitely makes note of that.

“My dads got some raw meat in the meat cooler. Could that help tide you over?”

Eddie nods eagerly, practically grabbing Steve to have him lead the way.

“Lets try it, I’m game,” Eddie urges, already half out the door, “Anything I can try so I don't hurt anyone.”

The walk down the stairs is fucking painful. Not in any physical sense, just the overwhelming sadness you have for Eddie. The fact that he spent his whole life having people accuse him of hurting others, of being some cult leader, a murderer; And now he actually has to worry about making them right, about hurting people he cares about because of something he didnt choose and can’t help.

Steve leads him to the garage to a large fridge and opens it like he’s Vanna White revealing a prize on Wheel of Fortune. Eddie’s eyes practically pop out of his head at the sight and you gently guide Dustin behind you, just in case. He starts digging through the bags of meat, immediately finding the bloodiest beef he can find, and opens it to gently pour the juiciest contents into his mouth using the corner of the bag. He gulps like a man starved, and maybe he is. Feral and animalistic as he seals and practically throws it to get to the next one. And the next one. And the next one.

Its five bags and some raw steak before he stops, hunger quenched for now.

“Feeling better?” you ask, leaning up to kiss him, but he keeps you at arms length.

“Let me uh, brush my teeth first,” he says. Dustin says something about you catching second hand salmonella or some shit and Steve asks what the hell that means.

You follow Eddie as he leads you all back into the house and you know that this is all definitely, probably, maybe going to be fine. Some bumps along the way, but fine.
