The lack of safety and awareness in this hobby scares me. Many flaunt our incredibly collections online, then use real names and addresses to ship to strangers. Then we'll publically announce meets where said expensive collections are a) unsecured at the meet or b) left alone at home, when you know the person will be gone from the house. From what I see, there's minimal to no talk of internet safety, securing personal info, or getting a PO box. We're lucky this approach hasn't backfired on a large scale.

Ukrainian traditional outfit on my Whispering Grass Cornelia.

The most tricky part is to find in-scale fabrics and findings with a proper patterns for this kind of costume. Embroidery on the shirt is imitated with a lace. The doll is 45 cm high and is available as fullset for purchase.

Please excuse the long text ahead

I joined the bjd hobby around 2018 and its been a life saver in the sense that it has helped me stay motivated in life and its kinda therapy for me because it makes me happy and it has allowed me to be creative, because my line of work is just numbers related, i am married and i can say me and my partner have a great relationship, so its not like i had a reason to be depressed, Just kinda needed a hobby to keep me going if that makes sense, something that was alone for me and to enjoy, and by pure chance i found it in dolls. Anyway I recently turned 40 and i took a huge chunk of my money to indulge and get a couple of grail dolls and lots of clothes and things for them, financially i can say i am not so relaxed but i own a couple of properties and have my own car, my partner works too so its not like she depends economically on me although we split the bills, the thing is that like many People nowadays, It's unlikely i will retire and have a relaxed life in my old days if i get to that age, so i cant help to feel a bit guilty on spending money that i might need in the future when i can no longer work, but at the same time i feel happy looking at my new dolls and things, my reasoning is a bit "fuck it i might die tomorrow and never got to obtain these things and enjoy them" and also i know its frowned upon but even when i love my dolls i see them as material possesions, so i always try to get items that i know somehow won't lose their value and that I can possibly sell if i need to, so i see it a bit like an investment. I just felt like i needed to get it out of my chest, but at the same time i would like to know your thoughts on my situation, i don't want you to tell me if im right or wrong tho but all replies are welcome, my point is i am not seeking for validation, just kinda Wonder if anyone else can relate and has done "irresponsable spending" and what is your reasoning, thank you so much for reading and pardon my broken english, it's not my native tongue, and thank you admin for your hard work running this blog ❤️

In honor of 2024 being the year of the dragon in the Chinese zodiac, it felt appropriate to repaint my own noodle dragon girl Dollzone Po in white skin. I had absolutely hated the previous Faceup I’d put on her for many reasons, so I was happy to redo her. Also who can resist shimmer freckles?

The new Faceup is much much cuter in my opinion. I opted for no applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are just so dang small!

The redo was prompted by her new wig, which was the first wig I’d ever sewn like this. The part is messy, but acceptable to me and not bad for my first time working with sewn wefts!

Wow! Look at Nora—she's a true Lady Autumn! Amazing look, makeup, outfit, and photos! We are currently launching two small preorders for BJD Grannies each year—one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall preorder is already closed, and the next one will be in the spring. However, we may have available dolls from time to time. Excessive silliness below the cut, but suffice it to say, my collection has hit a truly absurd degree of perfect for me.

Ok,

I recently got the last doll I ordered in (Moss), and am super excited cause she seems to perfectly fit into what was the only remaining gap in my collection. And, as the other doll I bought over the summer (Jameson) really served to pull my "main group" together, I've been feeling incredibly content with my bjds.

Things may change of course, I have a history of being a revolving door collector, but I honestly haven't felt any urge to buy new dolls at all since I ordered the last two.

Now for the fun, funny, and entirely coincidental reason my collection has reached Perfection. The Numbers. I'm terrible at math, but I love serendipitous number patterns. My absolute favorite numbers are 3, 4, 7, and 13.

- 3 each: anthro dolls, fantasy SDs, and MSDs

- 4: there's 16 in total, which makes for a perfect 4x4 grid, and there's four doll groups- anthros, fantasy SDs, modern SD+s, and MSDs

- 7 each: my main focus group is 7 (the modern SD+s), and, removing the stranger resin colors of orange and black, there are 7 dolls with fair resin and 7 with tan.

- 13: there's 13 humanoid dolls altogether!

Honestly, this group couldn't have worked out any better if I planned it, especially since hilariously serendipitous numbers coincided perfectly with my feeling wonderfully content with my crew. Super looking forward to just working on and enjoying all of them for a good while.
