this is very much a post for myself but analyzing Wongi's bowling stats is breaking my mind. why are her stats in wpl (a much more difficult league with top international players) better than a simple domestic tourney and its not a minute difference either. and for my mental stability only T20 stats
like these are pretty good stats. she was the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament in s1. now looking at BBL-W stats the only one I found atleast (similar to WPL with top ints)
these are decent stats as well. little expensive on some days but definitely not the worst. and now the thing that's spinning my brain, domestics (both RHFC and hundred).
these stats? they are not good. you wouldn't think the above two stats belong to the same player as this one. only 10 wickets over 19 games at avg econ of 10.66 per game compared to
7.03 in wpl with 18 wkts(12 games)
7.54 in bbl w/ 9wkts (13 games).
infact her initial games have better numbers than her current games. i cannot for the life of me figure out why she performs better in more competitive and difficult international leagues than domestic which would be great if she also did somewhat good in domestic.
even her T20Is have better stats
even her odis are fine (not counting test, only 1 match)
It is beyond me and everything I've thought of on why she's bad in English domestic leagues. I would bet good money that most bowlers as young and inexperienced as her wouldn't achieve the same success as her in foreign leagues but why so bad at domestic?????
ik no one who sees this would care about this, but if someone interested does see this please make some sense of it?
#wpl2024#issy wong#bbl#statistics#analysis#cricket#england#yes i did full career analysis cuz my fav player wasn't doing good in her games#t20cricket#t20worldcup#if any stats are wrong plz dont come after me kindly correct me

NEW PLAYERS!!!
Australia's biggest Twenty20 cricket league, the Big Bash League (BBL), is made up of teams located in cities. It is well-known for its fast-paced and exciting structure, and it usually runs from December to February. Since its founding in 2011, the league has gained prominence and drawn both Australian talent and talents from other countries. Teams like the Sydney Sixers, Melbourne Stars, and Perth Scorchers battle it out for the championship in famous venues across the nation. The Australian cricket season's biggest event, the BBL is renowned for its exciting atmosphere, engaging fan base, and high-scoring matches. The BBL gives players a competitive edge and a worldwide appeal by featuring both established international cricket stars and up-and-coming talent. Finally, the league has made a substantial contribution to the expansion of T20 cricket by highlighting the exciting elements of the format and helping to nurture players who succeed in this shortened version of the game.
The way that Cricket Australia has responded strategically to the recent turmoil surrounding the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League is a very well thought out plan. The challenging assignment essentially entails requesting detailed proposals from prospective Team owners who have already contacted a player to captain their teams. The last four possibilities have been selected by Cricket Australia, which will choose the best one to form a new Big Bash League team. In-depth analyses of the suggested cricket infrastructure, cutting-edge team facilities, creative marketing approaches, and comprehensive community engagement programs would all be necessary for CA. Carefully vetting each proposal is the responsibility of a carefully chosen selection committee made up of business professionals, league executives, and seasoned cricketing greats. Beyond the obvious, the criteria consider the importance of cricket to the club owners, the size of the leaders' current fan base, economic feasibility studies, and the possibility of igniting a thriving cricket culture in the neighborhood. Concurrently, the committee is developing strict ownership and management policies to create a model for openness, moral behavior, and sound financial standing.
This comprehensive and complex strategy aims to create a revolutionary change in the league's course rather than just solving the problems that plagued the Sydney Sixers. Cricket Australia hopes to establish a new side that will play at the highest level of T20 cricket while also fitting in well with the local sports culture. Through the cultivation of a culture that is marked by impartiality, absolute responsibility, and proactive engagement with the community, this all-encompassing project seeks to establish the Big Bash League as the pinnacle of quality and enjoyment within the international cricket scene.
Task in hand
For the CA to select you as the next team in the Big Bash League, you will need to make a proposal presentation. You will be given one business owner and a team captain. Your proposal pitch needs to contain-
• strategies to persuade Cricket Australia
• marketing strategies
• a three-year financial plan that accounts for player acquisition costs
• public relations strategies
• a jingle
• the team logo
• star player hiring plans
• a press release for the team
• 15-player squad.
Deliverables:
Ppt not more than 7 slides
Report not more than 20 pages Extra deliverables are appreciated

Aaron Finch demands IPL magic in BBL, clashes with Glenn Maxwell over changes in Big Bash League
The Big Bash League (BBL) was introduced more than a decade ago, but it has not yet gotten that recognition and made the fans crazy, resulting in the calls for evolution continuing to grow louder. Now, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell have shared contrasting views on what could improve Australia’s T20 competition and attract fans across the world. The former Australian skipper suggested a major…

Mitchell Owen has earned his first T20 contract since a dazzling display in the BBL final, joining South African franchise Paarl Royals.Owen scored a league-leading 452 runs for Hurricanes during the BBL, starting the summer as a relatively anonymous figure before announcing himself as a star. The highlight was his scarcely believable century in the final, coming off just 39 balls as he delivered Hurricanes their first title.Owen's pressure-laden performance was widely expected to pique the interest of T20 clubs around the world, including the IPL. The 23-year-old will have to wait longer to find out if he will pocket a life-changing sum as a late call-up for the IPL.But the Royals have wasted no time in signing Owen as a replacement for former England captain Joe Root, who is linking up with his national squad in India and is unavailable for the rest of the SA20.League leaders Paarl and second-placed MI Cape Town, who have Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult and Rashid Khan in their squad, will square off in next week's qualifier final.Ricky Ponting was among the good judges to lavish Owen with praise after his eye-catching knock in the BBL final. "There's not many players in the world that can do that," Ponting told AAP.Ponting noted discussion of Owen representing Australia in next year's T20 World Cup was "inevitable".Matthew Wade said Owen "can be anything", adding "no stage really worries him too much".

A debate for you:
I really like the player mic. I think WBL/BBL do it really well (SA20 has a lot of tech issues so need to work on that but they too do it well) and I think it adds a really interesting dynamic to the game. I think it sits really well in white ball games, and quite enjoyed hearing it from the female international players during the white ball games in the Washes.
I am on the fence about it being used in Test.
Don’t get me wrong, it is really cool, and it is awesome to get live insight from the field. But… it doesn’t feel like a Test cricket feature to me. I’m not sure I’m happy Alyssa had one on during the first session of the day.
I guess for me it’s the whole, focus thing? Franchises don’t have as many stakes, white ball games are faster paced (especially T20 where I don’t feel strategy is as crucial). Whereas Test, I guess I feel like I want the players fully locked into the game, not with half an ear on the commentary team.
I’m curious what other people think of it. As I understand it’s the first time field mic has been used in a Test? I don’t think the England squad will agree to wear them when they field, so I’m curious to hear what people think!
#I’m very on the fence because it’s really cool to get the insight#but I’m not sure I love it in test#cricfam#cricket#cricketfandom#england cricket#cricket fandom#cricket australia#indian cricket team#ashes#2025 women’s ashes#women’s ashes#women’s cricket#player mic#on field mic

Harbhajan Singh Attacks Gautam Gambhir Over Dressing Room Leak Allegations Against Sarfaraz Khan
Harbhajan Singh Attacks Gautam Gambhir: Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at India's head coach Gautam Gambhir for putting allegations on Sarfaraz Khan regarding the dressing room leaks. Harbhajan feels that Gambhir shouldn't have said such things and instead should have talked to the youngster.
Recently, a report in News 24 claimed that Gambhir named Sarfaraz in the BCCI's review meeting who leaked India's dressing room information to the media. In the same meeting, there were discussions on India's dismal performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
While the reports have claimed Gautam Gambhir to be blaming Sarfaraz, the India head coach hasn't said it officially so far and also hasn't responded on this issue. However, he has expressed his displeasure on the leaking of dressing room information in a press conference during the series.

Harbhajan Singh slams Gautam Gambhir
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh spoke on the recent controversies surrounding the Indian cricket team after the team's defeat in Australia. He also shed light on Gautam Gambhir blaming Sarfaraz Khan for the dressing room leaks.
Harbhajan feels that Gautam Gambhir should have spoken to Sarfaraz before blaming him in front of BCCI officials. According to Harbhajan, Sarfaraz has a lot of cricket left in him and Gambhir should have explained to him first.
"Whatever has happened in the last few days, be it in Australia or after that...there are wins and losses on the field. But everyday new stories should not come out of the dressing room. Today there was a report that coach saab (Gautam Gambhir) has said Sarfaraz Khan has leaked dressing room talks to media," Harbhajan said.
"If the coach has said this, he should not have done so. If Sarfaraz Khan had done this in Australia, you are the coach, you could have talked to him then. He is a player, make him understand. He is a youngster, he will play for India in the future," he added.

Harbhajan Singh blames Sarfaraz Khan
The former Indian off spinner also blamed Sarfaraz Khan for leaking the news and believes that the talks in the dressing room should not come out at any cost. However, he urged everyone involved to sit and solve the whole issue.
"Being a senior player, it's our duty to give wisdom to youngsters. If he (Gautam Gambhir) has said this, that Sarfaraz has leaked the news, and if the player has indeed done so, then it's wrong. Dressing room talks should not come out in the open. You should sit and solve the matter," Harbhajan reckoned.
Sarfaraz Khan was in India's squad for the Test series in Australia but didn't play any matches. The 27-year-old has played 6 Tests so far and scored 371 runs at an average of 37.10 with one hundred and three fifties.

Harbhajan Singh compares India's current era with Greg Chappell
Harbhajan Singh further compared India's current era of cricket to that of the era when Greg Chappell was the coach. During that era, there was lack of communication between the players and coaching staff which led to the team's decline.
"Last six-eight months there is lot of rumours in Indian cricket. It's very important that there is coordination among players and coach. In the 2005-06 season, during Greg Chappell era the same thing happened," the former India spinner said.
In Greg Chappell's tenure, there was a fallout between the team's senior players and the head coach due to their varied opinions. Chappell tried to bring his own coaching methods which didn't quite work out in India.
As a result, India suffered some shocking defeats, most notably being the early exit in the 2007 ODI World Cup played in the West Indies. Chappell immediately resigned from the post after the fallout with the team's senior players.
