saying this as respectfully as possible but. Do not put fandom content creators on a pedestal. We are also just fans contributing to a community just as you are. We have boundary on our own work and that’s it. What I say is not and should not be considered sth the whole fandom should listen to. I’m just a normal ass person ranting about things on my blog. If it does not have a fandom tag for others to engage in, do not make it out to be me trying to start fights or addressing the whole community. Because it’s not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, my art, my lore talk, is biased. I’ve never tried to hide that I view Marika a certain way and will always develop my theory following that base assumption.

Aside from translation stuffs and pointing out in-game items, everything else I say you can look at it, agree or disagree, and move on to form your own opinions. Just because I draw stuffs doesn’t mean you get to saddle me with responsibilities about managing fandom expectations. What the hell? I’m a fan artist, I’m the last person who you should look at for “leaderism” (?) WHAT?

I can and will be a hater in my own space, like I know sometimes other artists will just post their stuffs and not engage too heavily with fandom, and for a while I did try to do that here (because I’m already a dramatic ass on twitter), that’s just not me though.

You will get art and you will get my opinions as well.

The great thing about being on several indie bookstore mailing lists is that you then have Several Indie Booksellers recommending you new releases published by independent presses, which almost assuredly I would not have stumbled across on my own. This one's just a little guy (149 pages), but I've been looking forward to it all year. Will report back on how it goes!

hey! any angsty aftg fic recs?

okay prefacing this by saying i don't read a ton of like pure angst fics so these recs are mostly angst mixed w/ fluff and all of the finished ones at least have a happy ending, it might not be exactly what your looking for but they are some of my faves so

-Learning to be Human by coritkyo is one of my favorite andreil fics of all time it's a robot/android/cyborg au with a really amazing andreil dynamic it's unfinished (for now) but the mix of angst / healing / fluff is genuinely so good i was crying at 3 am while reading the last chapter idk if it fits what ur looking for but im plugging it anyway bcus i love this fic so bad.

-i know Baltimore Blues by spanglebangle is one of the more kudo'd fics in the fandom but if you haven't read that DO ITTTTT, i am always a slut for andrew baltimore povs. honestly any fic by spanglebangle is worth it even their unfinished fics are so good

-Coffee and Lies by Leocante is just a really good character study of neil though i think this is one of the more subtly angsty ones but it really digs into his pysche which i'm a fan of

-I Hope You Lie To Me by NikNak22 is actually so fucking good and so fucking worth it's post canon and all about andreil settling into their relationship and neil delving into his sexuality which i'm always a huge fan of

-if you're looking for more like heavier angst / aus / long fics Innominate by Major_816 is very good though it is unfinished right now it's probably one of the only very heavy raven esque / adjacent neil fics i have been able to get through

-final longer fic rec is Amor Vincit Omnia by Stjosten which is another au but the andreil build and struggle is just really good in that fic and i enjoyed it immensely

-okay this is my last rec for now I'm gonna make this place your home by earthworms is a what if mary was alive au and i LOVE fics that go into the mary neil dynamic so that's one of my all time faves im truly just a sucker for it

Since you told us about your AU…. I humbly offer up mine….

Idk if you go here lmfao but my au is based on the songs Daughter of Evil and Servant of Evil. I’m not sure if you’re into vocaloid but the songs can be easily found on YouTube with many different music videos/animatics. This prolly won’t make sense if you don’t watch it lol.

Ciel is the Daughter of Evil (Riliane) and Rio is the Servant of Evil (Allen) and they’d prolly have the same hair color in this AU for the sake of the plot. I guess they’d be Noir’s children? Idk where Bibury is at during this AU but she’s here somewhere lol.

Ichika is the girl of green (Michaela) In the original song, Riliane falls for the girls lover, the prince. But in this au, I’m thinking Ciel is in love with Ichika.

The prince (Kyle, aka Kaito) in this au wouldn’t really be a thing so I’m thinking both Akira and Yukari would play the role of the soldier in red who ultimately rebel against the monarchy. I don’t really know where to put Himari and Aoi, but I’d imagine they’d be taking part as well.

And the AU pretty much goes on to do exactly what the song does. Rio takes the blame for Ciel’s actions, takes her identity and well, you know. If you know the song you know what happens 😳

I think it’s interesting because as you’ve brought up before, Rio is almost always scapegoated for things that are mutually his and Ciels fault, and in this au that would be represented very literally. Moreover, Ciel would have a real reason to be mournful, and her regret wouldn’t feel as “woe is me im a terrible person :((“ because in this au she actually is a terrible person, her guilt is not misplaced.

Scar slumps forward, perching his forearm on his knees, lax hands clasped between them. A shiver racks throughout his body. Scar takes a cursory glance at Grian, his gaze already fixed onto him. A soft smile plays on his lips and Scar hadn’t realized how much he missed the faint crinkle pulling at his cheeks whenever Grian let Scar be privy to the odd sight.  Warmth fills his chest. A burst of air leaves his nose in a sigh, “So,” he drags out the syllable, leaning back into the couch cushions, “What now? I mean there’s a lot to unpack here.”  Grian’s hands move from his lap, mussing the thick fabric of his pants, mussing the wrinkles of the denim, crossing his arms as he pouts. “I know,” he starts softly in spite of the crease forming between his brows, “I’m asking myself the same question, but…” His gaze flickers to Scar, a confession embedded in the flush spreading across his nose bridge, “I just— had to make sure you were safe first.” Grian leans in on himself, elbow digging into the joint of his knee, torso sinking into the soft of his stomach— curling in on himself as if to coward behind the cover of his person. His chin rests in the cleft of his palm, fingers absent-mindedly brushing along the flesh of his bottom lip, avoiding Scar outright. That’s… also a sight he isn’t privy to. Scar swallows the dryness in his throat, warmth fogs his senses, fills his lungs with smoke, steeps his mouth in tea. And he keens— suppressing the saliva pooling in his mouth by tensing his jaw. An animal to a salt-lick, his mind provides. An all too Pavlovian response.  “That’s— uh…” Scar gives a sputtered clearing of his throat, akin to a shallow groan, taking the reins of mind by flitting his gaze from the angel sitting on his couch, “Thank you.” “It’s fine.” Grian dismisses the sentiment with a wave. “Least I can do after getting you involved in this.” His hands vaguely gestures in front of himself, brows wilting, “Putting you at risk.”  Scar sighs, arm slung across his breast, “It comes with the territory. My entire career, the H.E.A.R.T. Foundation, every part of the job is a risk, but it’s worth it.” He lulls his head back; chin tipped to the ceiling, backrest bolstering his neck. He can’t look at Grian after that last statement, be that because of reverence or of cowardice, he couldn’t say– though his mind draws near the ladder. “Is it—” Grian starts and that gets Scar’s attention again, “Was it?” He doesn’t face Scar, just pores over him through narrow eyes instead, features— straight upturned nose and cherub curls— framed with the soft light spilling out from the kitchenette. Scar can hardly get a read on the man, the intention behind his actions, the thoughts churning in his mind, fixating on it– on him– is more like trying to decipher the details of a slab of concrete than anything deriving scrutiny. He’s rewarded with a fog; over his hands and what they were doing, enveloping his hindbrain until he’s forgotten what exactly he was dissecting under the microscope of his gaze, billowing from the innermost corner of his consciousness– or God knows where– with a niggling ring settling in his ears in the wake of silence, when his mind is most prone to wander. The feeling is most prominent whenever something’s mulling over in Grian’s mind, expression stoic with indifference. He supposes– which is a dangerous game when it comes Grian– it’s adapted from his job, his title as an heir, the need for diligence when the idea of vulnerability is likened to weakness in the developmental years. Yet, he betrays these analyses and notes Scar has logged from their previous sessions; eyes lidded, the soft line of his lips dropping ever so slightly– its vulnerability, weakness, that peels away at the initial words which give way to a question. Was I worth it?

reading around 80k on my native language in 2 days definitely made me want to read a book or a fic in English. funny how comforting it can be, when you get a lot, even too much of it and want to switch.

17. What was the hardest scene to write?

The logistics of the Forest scene in general took me a long time to think over even though those chapters came out very quickly.

The timing had to be just right, and there were different moving parts. I needed to logistically get Efnisien away from Arden in a kink club, which Arden wouldn't do if there were any practicing people around, and I needed to get someone from the class into that space, I needed to get Augus into that space, I needed to get Efnisien out of an extremely crowded space, there was just a lot of like...moving pawns on a chess board mentally like, you go here, he stays there, you go over there, now you come in this room, you come in this room, you leave this room, you stay in this room, he goes into that room, he goes over there - and so on.

And that's fiddly when I also need to punch up the whole emotion and mood of the scene, which is high fear, high humiliation, high terror, high embarrassment, high pain, high self-hatred etc. So it's not just a logistical nightmare, it's also like...one where everything has to make sense while also narrating in a choppier way, because Efnisien stops noticing as much when he's terrified.

I also really struggled with writing the end, which is why it basically has three epilogues, lmao.

20. What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?

This one...I don't have any wishes for, people notice what they need to notice. For some it's Kadek, for some it's Arden and Efnisien, for some it's Efnisien and Dr Gary, for some it's different when rereading, for some it's everything, like...

Overall, there's nothing I wish people noticed. I actually think my life would be very unsatisfying as a writer if I constantly wished people noticed things different to what they were noticing in a fic. This is a really interesting question because if a writer feels they can answer this for every fic they've written, they might actually want to look at their writing technique, because it kind of loosely indicates they can't gently nudge the reader into noticing what they should be noticing. And that's a skill thing more than it is a reader thing, imho. That's just my thoughts! Like if it happens once or twice, okay, but if a person can really think of something for every single fic, they need to keep writing and keep polishing up.

Also remembering that I get to write wolfwood next chapter and I'm a widdle nervous bc this is a Big Moment and I only wrote him a little bit with Sentido and it's been 8 months since then

But im also REALLY excited bc I get to finally (FINALLY) start executing the vashwood concepts I'd thought up at the damned START of this fic

So much relationship development to get to. So much Wolfwood to get to. Very exciting things.
