@dreams-in-inks and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary today, and we did a little something silly Saturday night to begin the fun! She had never built a bear at Build-A-Bear Workshop. It was very fun. 🌈✨

I couldn't find any photos of a pawlette in a masculine outfit or not dressed, so I found a masc bab outfit! But I hope you like it! I also thought a pacifier and teether was a good idea

Decided that the build a bear model “pawlette” is my BaB Minnie’s drag project name, which led me immediately into pawlette as the Chappell Roan of BaB world- I heard u like magic, I got a wand and a rabbit !

My yoshi (gummy worm) has a animal crossing new horizons tush tag on it? And I wanted to ask, if you ever ran into any errors on your bab? Or seen any during your time working at a workshop?

ooh thats a really interesting one! i guess its pretty easy for tush tag errors to exist since they're such like a simple thing to add in to the bears, but i've actually never seen a tush tag error myself yet!!

we get a decent amount of errors in the workshop actually, i've been responsible for damaging quite a few bears simply cuz we r a manager at our location and so we're often the ones dumping them off, meaning ive seen a decent amount over the year+ we've worked there.

the majority of errors we get in bears are small holes along the seams, but those are easily fixable and we are allowed to fix any seam holes on bears as per build a bear rules, so those we dont have to damage (which is good). ive had a couple bears that have ripped on the fabric that we do have to damage, or bears where theres just like missing or like smudged tags. aside from that we dont actually get a lot of big problems, i think the most like notable thing we've had is the issue with pawlettes that happened like a month or two ago where the manufacturer messed up pawlettes all across u.s locations i believe, their faces were all messed up and we had to pull about 30 of them from the choose me wall and send them back rather than damage them normally. the worst of them had like, very uneven eyes, a flat and slanted nose, and uneven face plates (?). they were all very silly im honestly a little upset they didn't let employees buy any of them cuz they were SO silly /aff

aside from them, we had a chase once who's mouth felt wasn't properly trimmed, so instead of a straight line for his mouth he had like, a flap there? we lovingly called him scary chase before we finally had to damage him. we also once had a bear with a backwards foot that i think (iirc) a coworker bought. thats about it though for what i can remember! build a bear errors are so interesting to me cuz like. some of them are really simple or easy to understand, like tiny seam holes or like the face is a little off but not problematically so, or like the stitching is messed up so we have to hand sew them instead.

the majority of errors we actually get are on clothing, which isn't ever consequential enough to be noticable if you're not the one damaging them out, but its usually like, the pattern is smudged, or it gets peeled off in the packaging so its like half on there, or the pattern is folded, typically like printing issues like that. otherwise we get a lot on sound chips/heartbeats considering they have the potential for quite a lot of little tech issues.

Yeah absolutely! There are tons of versions of Pawlette so I could definitely do multiple of these! I’m saving a few for certain times of your though ☺️

27) let’s see another book I really like is smoke signals by Alexie Sherman and we’ll…I’m reading White oleander rn by Janet fitch and it’s definitely on my top 5 books (I hav 1 chap left)

hi 😊 the random question of the week is what's the last thing a friend or a loved one of yours has done that has brought you joy recently?

My two best friends and I all live in separate towns/cities so we get together as a trio 1 to 4 times a year, with us always having a Friendmas in January to March and then sometimes seeing each other for other stuff like pride or Halloween. The last time we were together was in July when we went to a pride parade. (Sometimes I see them separately. Last time I saw one friend was in September for ComiCon and the other friend had recently come to pick me up and run errands with me.)

This past weekend, one friend and I drove to go stay with the other friend. I got them both gift cards to Build-A-Bear and the friend we were staying with lives near one, so we all went to the mall and spent their birthday money.

I haven't introduced my followers to him yet, but meet Blinx!! All of my BABs are named after video games, so this one is named after Blinx the Time Sweeper. All my BABs also have scents (you can buy a scented piece of plastic to go inside when they're being stuffed) so Blinx smells like sugar cookies, because his fur reminds me of the Pillsbury Halloween cookies.

We all coincidentally made cats!! I made a Pumpkin Kitty, one friend made a Pastel Swirl Kitty, and the other friend made a Midnight Glow Kitty

So my friends brought me joy by coming with me to BABW!!

hey mar ^_^ Thinking of the ask u sent me last night what are some plush brands that u like?

Oh ! I have some lovely brands for you, here are my five favourites !

1. Jellycat

Jellycat is an awesome brand, their plushies are super soft and cute. I own four, and they're all awesome quality. Another thing that I find great is that they have their Safety + Sustainability Policy and their Modern Slavery Statement at the bottom of their website, perfectly accessible.

A special thing that makes me love this brand even more is that they have a Retired Jellycats page ! It has all of the Jellycat items that are no longer available, sorted by year. No other brand that I know of has anything like this

2. FAO Schwarz

FAO Schwarz is an amazing brand that sells much more than just their own plushies, including stuff by other brands and other types of toys.

A detail that makes this brand so so dear to me is that all of their own stuffed toys come with a little red envelope that contains an adoption certificate ! It really helps you bond with the plush, in my opinion at least.

3. Build-A-Bear

Build-A-Bear is quite a popular brand so you probably know all about it but it is still one of my favourites.

I absolutely adore how you can customise your new friend so much, with scents, heartbeats, voice boxes, clothes, and many other accessories to choose from you're sure to find the perfect plush for you ! (Note: BABWs also have a "pay-your-age" thing on birthdays where however old you are is how much you pay ! Ex. 12 year olds pay 12$)

4. Pillow Pets

Pillow Pets are also an immensely popular and widely known brand, and for good reason too ! Their plush-pillow combos are positively adorable and sure to become a permanent fixture of your bed setup.

Obviously the fact that they combine pillows and stuffed animals makes them super unique, but their collection of different animals and characters is amazing. My personal favourites are the bee, the ladybug, and all of the scented animals !

5. Manhattan Toy Company

The Manhattan Toy Company is really just your typical stuffed animal and kids' toy brand but I have to include them because I love mine to bits, they are so so cute and just overall perfect.

First picture is my Jellycat Medium Dexter Dragon, currently unnamed with a collar I made myself.

Second image is my FAO Schwarz Great White Shark with his adoption papers, his name is Toby.

Third is my BAB Pawlette, wearing overalls and an "It's a Boy" t-shirt. She is in her pink carrier which makes it so much easier to bring her places especially when I have to use my hands. Her name is Honey.

Fourth is my Pillow Pet Bee, named Clown.

And last but not least is my Manhattan Toy Company Pig, Sam-Sam. I also call him Sam or Sammy.
