Center Crowfoot Mountain and other Peaks of the Wapta Icefield (Banff National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along the Icefields Parkway with a view looking to the west to Center Crowfoot Mountain. This is in Banff National Park. My thought on composing this image was to zoom in with the focal length to have the mountainside fill most of the image and a backdrop of blue skies to complete this setting in the Canadian Rockies. While there was a slight haze from the wildfires in Alberta mixed with the bright afternoon sunlight, I was able to bring out much of the details later, using the ClearView Plus tool in DxO PhotoLab 6. PeakVisor app on my iPhone identified the listing of Center Crowfoot Mountain.

Global Azimuth Thrusters Market Size, Manufacturers, Supply Chain, Sales Channel and Clients, 2021-2027
An azimuth thruster is a configuration of marine propellers placed in pods that can be rotated to any horizontal angle (azimuth), making a rudder unnecessary. These give ships better maneuverability than a fixed propeller and rudder system.
The industry's leading producers are SCHOTTEL Group, Rolls-Royce and IHI, which accounted for 20.31%, 10.90% and 10.43% of revenues in 2019. By region, Europe has the highest share of income, at more than 23%.

Seeing the Sights of White Sands National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the west while taking in views across the white sands along the Dune Life Nature Trail in that part of the national park. What I wanted to capture with this image was the varied plant-life present as I was hiking the trail. I also felt that helped to create a layered look, from near to far, with the different sand dune ridges present, leading up to the distant horizon with the mountains.

Indiana Dunes National Park...Another Ultimate Stress Escape! by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: At the starting point for the Dune Succession Trail in Indiana Dunes National Park with a view looking to the west-northwest to the blue waters of Lake Michigan. I had a few thoughts in mind as I composed this image. One was to use a layered approach with the nearby grass covered sand dune so that the waves coming in with the waters of Lake Michigan were that step beyond into the image. The look across would complement the waves coming in and a more distant horizon. The last thing was given the overcast skies, I knew that I would want to work with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image. Definitely something not blah with the overcast skies!

A Curved Tree in Glacier National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the west-northwest at a big curve in a tree while walking back from Fishercap Lake. This is in Glacier National Park. I’d come across this location years ago in 2014 while walking and exploring some locations in this part of the national park. In composing this image, I chose to use a portrait orientation so that I could capture the full height of the tree as well as including some of the nearby forest to add to this setting in the image captured.

On Another Trip But Same Image by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A plane window image looking to the west to the La Sal Mountains and Castle Rock or Valley area. About two years prior, I taken a similar flight from Austin to Salt Lake City and seen the same setting. Fortune or luck had favored me to see the same view and see what I might capture on this trip. In composing the image, I decided for a layered approach using the airplane engine to lead the eye into the image with the snowcapped mountains and Utah/Colorado landscape to my front. Angling my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward would also bring the horizon high into the image and create, what I felt, was a more sweeping view to the image captured.

Varied Plant-Life in White Sands National Park

Varied Plant-Life in White Sands National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking the Dune Life Nature Trail with a view looking to the west across this portion of White Sands National Park. My thought on composing this image was to use some high ground that I was located on and capture more of a sweeping view down and then across the dune formations with plant-life present. I decided to use some of the nearby ones to frame a layered look from one location to the other, with the mountains as the more distant destination in the image.

My Navigations in Big Bend National Park
flickr
My Navigations in Big Bend National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: From a roadside pull off on the Basin Road leading into the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. The view is looking down and across the Basin area to the peaks and ridges called The Window off in the distance. It's a several thousand feet elevation change from this road down to the end of The Window hiking trail. So my thinking in composing this image was to take advantage of the high point I was on and angle my Nikon SLR camera such that I could capture a sweeping view across this national park landscape and bring up the the surrounding mountains higher into the image and have feeling of height all around.

Nature, That Ideal Escape (Petrified Forest National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While taking in views to the east from a roadside pullout along the Blue Mesa Scenic Drive in Petrified Forest National Park. Here I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to create a more sweeping view across this colored badlands landscape. I used the mesa outcropping as a leading line deeper into the image. The blue skies above would act as a color contrast to complement the more earth-tones present in the lower portion of the image.

I Wanted to Thank Nature for Being a BFF (Big Bend National Park)
flickr
I Wanted to Thank Nature for Being a BFF (Big Bend National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: An image captured on the main Basin road with a view looking to the west and The Windows with the peaks and mountainsides of the Chisos Mountains all around. My thinking in composing this image was to capture a more sweeping view across this West Texas landscape. To do so, I had to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and bring the mountains higher up into the image. The rest was balancing the setting to include some of the blue skies and clouds above, while minimizing the brightness of the sun in the late afternoon skies. I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 4 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.

The Expectation is to Stop and Smell the Roses (Big Bend National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: The Expectation is to Stop and Smell the Roses But in the mountains there are only wildflowers to enjoy So I will stop to live that moment No speed involved to my finish line Just the day, a moment, and a vista like none other I could always sing and give Julie Andrews a run for the money I am all alone with only the trees and birds to share my company So hike your own hike Speed to adventure, if you must And explore the planet we all share You might just find me with my shoes and socks off And only a smile as I sit and take in a view. Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in Big Bend National Park at a roadside pullout along the main Basin road. The view is looking to the west across the Chisos Basin area to The Windows off in the distance. Because of the several thousand foot decline in elevation present across this national park landscape, I had to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to capture a more sweeping view. The more distant peaks and mountains would be pushed higher into the image but leave enough for me to include some of the blue skies and clouds above. For processing the image, I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO?PhotoLab 4 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.
