Physical Touch...
↪ ft. argenti. arlan. aventurine. blade. boothill. caelus. dan heng & imbibitor lunae. dr ratio. gallagher. gepard. jing yuan. luka. luocha. sampo. sunday. welt.
Argenti brushing your hair, making sure to gently undo any knots found in it. He would help you clean up any dirt from your skin and clothes, making sure you looked even more beautiful than you already were. You were his beloved, and he'd make sure to make you feel like it was so all the time through soft moments just like these.
Being in the infirmary with Arlan, who bandages up any wounds you got. He places soft kisses over small band-aids or bigger scars, making sure to help you feel better. He wouldn't want to let you hurt any longer than you already did. He promises that it'll be all better with him by your side.
Aventurine would hold you close to himself as you both roam the casino. Winning every single game he played, as always. Letting every other patron there know that you were the only one allowed to be so close to the luckiest man in the building. No one would be able to catch his heart just as you have with him as he places a kiss on your forehead, silently reminding you with a smile.
In between missions, Blade would hold you close to his chest, wrapping his arms around you and rubbing soothing patterns into your back. Elio hadn't assigned him to the next thing in the script yet, so he still had time to be with you, to give you some attention before he has to set off for whatever dangers he'd be going through next.
Despite not being able to feel much, Boothill gives you so much love. An arm wrapped around your waist, tight hugs which brings you closer to himself. Whenever he feels like he wants to feel your touch, he just nuzzles his face into you, chuckling gently with a smirk on his face. Knowing you're too good for someone like him.
Caelus clinging onto you while the Crew watches a horror movie together in the Astral Express. He yelps at the smallest thing, holding you close to himself for dear life. Despite going through life-threatening things, he still was a little scaredy-cat underneath all of that, your little raccoon boyfriend would never change, not like you'd want him to.
Laying your head on Dan Heng's shoulder as he types out something on the Data Bank after your last mission. All of you were tired from what you had experienced, but he diligently writes more information for everybody. Also, gently caressing Imbibitor Lunae's horns, placing soft kisses on them as his tail wraps around your hips, silently trying to pull you closer to himself.
Bathing with Dr. Ratio, he thoroughly washes your body, touching you in places only he can. The bubbly sensation relaxing the two of you as you clean up together. Enjoying the soft, alone time, just for the both of you. With no other people to pry or disturb either of you.
Gallagher guiding your hands as you two work at the Dreamjolt Hostelry. Making sure to help you find the correct ingredients to serve to your different customers. Handing you something he was previously using, your fingers grazing over one another's and feeling the small and short touches that you two share every now and then.
Sitting in the Silvermane Restricted Zone with Gepard, as he lets you bandage his wounds he got from the battles with the Fragmentum. He wasn't fully invincible, and him getting hurt would be inevitable. He knew that his job was dangerous, but letting you at least know he was okay, and that you can make him feel better would make himself feel better.
Jing Yuan letting you sit on his lap as he works. His work was usually boring most of the time, but when you were there with him, it made it so much more interesting. He nuzzled into your neck every now and then, smirking against your skin as he inhaled your scent. He could never get sick of these times with you, and no one could take you away from him, not even the Master Diviner.
Cuddles with Luka after he wins his last match at the Fight Club. It's his little reward from you that he always looked forward to. Even if he did lose, which we all know would barely actually happen, he would always be spoiled like this. He would always love having your warmth and comfort after hard work put into his fights.
Luocha's fingers intertwined with yours as the two of you go through the Luofu together. He wasn't anyone else other than your lover when he was with you, and he'd make sure you know it. Kisses on the back of your hand or playing with your hair when the two of you were alone, or even when there was a man secretly watching from behind the scenes.
Holding Sampo's face in your hands as you gently scold him for conning another person. He just wanted to get money for you, but that didn't mean he had to get it through means like this. You remind him not to do that again, though we both know that he would do it again, all for you.
You were the only one who was loved enough by Sunday to be able to touch his soft wings, other than his own sister. He would let you clean them up, touch them up and even preen any loose feathers that stuck out from the rest. Normally, he'd do it himself, but if it made you happy to help, then he'd let you do what you want.
Laying down with Welt on the couch in the Astral Express' Parlor Car, cuddling with him after a long day of missions at your current stop. He would brush his fingers through your hair. Your head on his chest, his other arm wrapped loosely around your body. Resting for the next day that would be full of exciting adventures for the two of you.

can i request boothill, aventurine, and jing yuan with a jealous gender neutral reader? every time the jealousy tag is added to a fic, it’s always for the character and leaves me wondering what the opposite would be like. feel free to delete if you’ve written something like this before and thank you for your service to the hsr community 🫡
Jealousy, Jealousy
Tags: Boothill x Reader, Aventurine x Reader, Jing Yuan x Reader, Jealousy, Emotional Conflict, Fluff with Minor Angst, Romantic Tension, Hurt/Comfort, Established Relationship, Protective Partner, Light Humor (?).
Warnings: Mild jealousy and insecurity themes, Brief mentions of violence or conflict(?), Emotional vulnerability, Slight suggestive undertones (Aventurine's part).
A/N: Totally get you because there's not many fics out there where Reader is the ONE who's jealous 🫣, I did the opposite one where the characters were jealous so this my first time writing where the Reader is jealous. Hope you love it!
The smoky haze of the cantina mingled with the scent of leather and gunpowder, a typical night for Boothill. The Galaxy Ranger leaned against the bar, his mechanical fingers tracing the rim of a half-full glass of whiskey. You stood nearby, trying to keep your composure as a stranger—a suave-looking gunslinger—sidled up to Boothill with a sly grin.
“You’ve got quite the reputation,” the stranger drawled, tipping their hat. “A sharpshooter like you must’ve broken a few hearts.”
Boothill chuckled, showing his shark-like teeth. “Nah, hearts ain’t my target. Bullets don’t play favorites.”
The stranger laughed and leaned closer, their words drowned out by the raucous music, but their intentions were crystal clear. Your chest tightened as you watched Boothill’s sharp eyes glint with amusement.
“Hey,” you interrupted, your voice steady but laced with irritation. “Boothill, aren’t you forgetting something?”
He turned to you, eyebrow raised. “What’s that, partner?”
“That I’m the only one who gets to sit that close to you.” you said firmly, crossing your arms.
Boothill’s grin widened as he pushed the stranger back with a mechanical hand. “Well, ain’t that somethin’? Looks like I’m already claimed.” He stood, draping his arm around your shoulders. “Guess you’ll have to find another cowboy to sweet-talk.”
The stranger huffed and walked off, leaving you and Boothill alone. He leaned closer, his voice soft and teasing. “Didn’t know you were the jealous type, sugar.”
You jabbed a finger at his chest. “Maybe if you weren’t so charming, I wouldn’t have to be.”
Boothill laughed, his voice rich and warm. “Don’t you worry. You’re the only one who’s got a claim on this gunslinger.”
The roulette wheel spun, its clinking sound echoing through the luxurious casino. Aventurine stood at the center of attention, effortlessly charming the crowd with his flamboyant gestures and glittering smile. His eyes glinted as he placed another bet, drawing cheers from his admirers.
You stood on the sidelines, your jaw clenched as a particularly bold admirer leaned over, whispering something in his ear. Aventurine’s laughter rang out, smooth and melodious, but it only fueled the fire simmering within you.
You strode forward, catching his wrist just as he reached for another stack of chips. “Having fun?” you asked, your tone sharp enough to slice through his entourage's chatter.
Aventurine blinked, then grinned, clearly amused by your sudden intrusion. “Ah, my lucky charm,” he said, pulling you closer. “Jealous, are we?”
“Maybe I wouldn’t be if you weren’t flirting with half the casino.” you shot back, narrowing your eyes.
He raised an eyebrow, his expression equal parts playful and sincere. “Now, now. You know there’s only one person I’m truly invested in.”
“Then maybe show it more often,” you muttered, glancing at the crowd still watching him with longing gazes.
Aventurine chuckled and leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. “If it helps, I only play games I know I’ll win. And with you, darling, the jackpot’s already mine.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t suppress the smile tugging at your lips. Aventurine’s charm was infuriatingly effective, and he knew it.
The sun filtered through the branches of the garden, casting dappled shadows on the stone pathway. Jing Yuan reclined on a bench, his eyes half-lidded as he enjoyed the rare moment of peace. You approached quietly, only to pause as you spotted a young soldier eagerly engaging him in conversation.
“You’re so wise, General,” the soldier gushed. “It’s no wonder everyone looks up to you.”
Jing Yuan chuckled, his deep voice smooth as silk. “Wisdom comes with age, and age comes with its own set of burdens.”
The soldier blushed, clearly enamored. Your hands curled into fists as jealousy bubbled up. Jing Yuan noticed your approach, his gaze softening. “Ah, there you are,” he said, waving you over. “Come, join us.”
The soldier glanced at you but didn’t move, still lingering too close for comfort. You stepped forward, meeting Jing Yuan’s gaze with a pointed look. “Am I interrupting something?”
“Not at all,” he replied, patting the bench beside him. “We were just discussing the importance of patience in leadership.”
“I see,” you said, your voice cool. “Well, I hope the lesson was enlightening.”
The soldier finally took the hint and excused themselves, leaving you and Jing Yuan alone. He tilted his head, studying you with a knowing smile. “You seemed… displeased.”
“Maybe I don’t like sharing.” you admitted, crossing your arms.
Jing Yuan reached out, taking your hand in his. “You have nothing to worry about. My heart belongs to you, and no amount of flattery will change that.”
You sighed, feeling the tension drain away as his thumb brushed against your knuckles. “You’re lucky you’re so convincing.”
He chuckled, pulling you closer. “And you’re lucky I find your jealousy endearing.”

May I request an Aventurine x Halovian!reader
No pressure, have a nice day, byee
[Runs]
ꜱᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱᴇᴠᴇɴ
synopsis - Aventurine was always a regular at the bar you worked at due to it's reputation and closeness to the casino he frequented. As the weeks flew by, you couldn't help but gain feelings for the blond gambler yet you refuse to do anything with them. Turns out, it only took a Seven and Seven to seal the deal with him.
pairings - aventurine x halovian! reader
content - pining, drunk! aventurine, sober confessions, gagged reader
warnings - alcohol, a couple cuss words, possibly ooc aventurine, i tried focusing on the halovian part i'm sorry--
⋘ ʟᴏᴀᴅɪɴɢ... ⋙
Working in a renowned bar had its fair share of perks and flaws. The perks were the free drinks you were able to make for yourself, the amount of tips you’d receive from dreamchasers, and lastly, the stories that you would hear from each and every individual. As for the flaws..you’d have to deal with drunk patrons who’d have no shame in flirting with you, getting a little too ambitious to where they don’t respect your personal space, and some of their messes (bar fights, vomit, etc…).
As common as these situations may be, you rarely have to go through them alone thanks to your coworkers and other helpful customers. These people as well as the regulars who frequent may be the sole reason why you decide to stick around, ignoring the pay and tips of course.
Currently, you are working the closing shift this time. You had always enjoyed working during the night, finding solitude in making drinks without having to run around all day. Although passing the time was difficult with the small number of customers, a slow night brought a moment of peace for your busy brain.
Hearing the familiar jingle of the bell signaling a customer snapped you out of your daze, putting down the wine glass you were just cleaning.
“Welcome, can I get you your usual, Mr. Aventurine?” You greeted, recognizing the familiar head of blond.
Aventurine was one of the bar’s regulars, always seeking out the place after he visited the casino he frequented. A gambler at heart, he truly knew how to swindle people of their valuables. And in this case, your heart.
Despite his flirtatious actions and compliments, you always maintained a healthy distance between the two of you, never wanting to get too close…
“You don’t have to be so formal.” Aventurine gave you a smug grin, brow raised in slight amusement. “But yes. You know me so well, don’t you, _____?”
And how badly that failed.
You knew you could never tell him your feelings, for you fear you misread between the lines and all you truly were was just a friend to the man. A simple-winged bartender who was easy to toy with.
You gave him a simple smile, preparing to make his drink. “I would hope so, you’ve been coming here for a couple of months now.”
There was a small pause.
You had heard Aventurine pulling out the stool from behind you, the crinkling of clothes as he took his seat at the bar. His gaze burned through your head, yet you focused on gathering the ingredients. Turning back around, you engaged in the process that you’ve performed numerous times.
“What have you been up to, Aventurine?” You spoke, attempting to ease the silence.
“Hmm, just some business matters with The Family. Other than that, I’ve been doing the same old thing.” He replied, toying with that chip he always had on him. You hummed in response, finishing up his drink.
“Seems a little troublesome. I’m glad this bar offers you a place to unwind.” Aventurine laughed.
“You know it.”
Sliding his drink over to him, you watched as he took it between his nimble fingers and swirled it around.
“What about you? Any patrons hitting on you again lately?” Aventurine chuckled as he took a sip of his drink. You rolled your eyes with a laugh.
“Of course, they always try to smooth talk their way into bagging a date with me. Which normally never turns out well for them.” You picked up the wine glass you had set down and resumed cleaning, humming along to the songs resonating throughout the bar. “Thankfully no one has tried putting their hands on me thanks to people like you coming to my aid.”
There were a few cases where customers were banned from the site due to harassment, where they would pull on your wings or fling your halo around. Those kinds of people were rare to come by, but your manager would happily deal with them by throwing them out to the streets.
“Don’t mention it, we are friends after all.” Aventurine waved you off, giving you a polite smile.
Friends.
You could only give Aventurine a smile of your own as your actions slowed.
-----
Some time had passed and the bar was nearing its closing time. Customers were long gone by now except for the blond gambler who lay slumped against the wooden counter. His gloved hand was propped up so he was supporting his head, his half-empty drink in the other. He looked a little rough.
With a concerned gaze, you put up the last chair and slowly walked over towards him. With a gentle shake, he stirred a little before his eyes met yours.
“Mr Aventurine?” You softly spoke, taking a step back to allow him some space. Aventurine rubbed at his face a bit, mumbling about something before returning his focus to you.
“Don’t call me that. S’too formal.” He grumbled, his brows furrowed. “Just call me Aven.”
Aventurine struggled to form a coherent sentence, his words were slurred together and he’d stumble over what he was saying. It was obvious that the man was drunk just by his speech and his request to call him a cute, little nickname. Seeing him behave this way made you feel a little warm but more so worried.
“Ah, ok… Er– Aven, we need to get you back to your hotel room. It’s getting late.” You took his finished glass and cleaned it, stacking it away with the other glasses on the shelves. Throughout the time you were cleaning, Aventurine just sat there and watched, eyes slowly blinking as he would occasionally sway from side to side.
After you had finished the last of your routine, you helped Aventurine stand from his seat, pushing the stool in with your foot. You struggled at first to get him past the door in the darkness, but eventually, the two of you made it outside. The cool night air made you shiver a little, but due to Aventurine’s body heat, it kept you warm throughout your walk.
“Aven..can you lead me to your hotel room?” You asked, eyes darting to his sluggish figure as he stumbled next to you.
“Mmno… I feel so dizzy…” Aventurine mumbled, leaning his head against your shoulder. His breath would fan against your wings, causing them to twitch in response which he’d giggled at. Sighing, you decided to direct him to your place instead as it seemed like he was a bit too drunk to remember his hotel room.
Fumbling with your door keys, you managed to get the door open with your free hand, nudging the door with your foot. Kicking off your shoes, you flipped on the light switch that way you didn’t trip over any furniture or items that could be lying around.
“We’re here. Make yourself comfortable on the couch. I’ll go get you some water.” Aventurine flopped onto the living room couch, clutching a pillow close to him as he sank into the plush furniture. You could hear him mumbling about something, but you couldn’t make out what he was saying.
Grabbing a glass and filling it with cold water, you returned back to where he was and took a seat next to him.
“Here, you should drink some water, Aven.” You nudged the water towards him but he wouldn’t budge, turning you away. It took some time and effort but eventually, you were able to convince him to drink it.
It didn’t surprise you that he was dehydrated since he finished the entire glass, taking it from him and setting it aside.
“You feeling better?”
“...”
No response. You figured that he was tired and needed some sleep.
You moved to go get a blanket for him but a sudden weight pulled you back down onto the couch, trapping you. Shuffling around in a panic, you could see Aventurine’s blond strands in your peripheral vision, his hold tightening on you as he nuzzled into the crook of your neck near your wing.
“Aven! Are you–?” You were interrupted by a groan, his head burying further underneath your wing. You were afraid that your halo would poke him, so you angled yourself in a way that would be comfortable for the both of you.
“So warm…” He tiredly murmured, cradling you closer to him.
It was certainly unexpected but also a little inappropriate, you didn’t want him to get the wrong idea when he woke up. You tried wiggling your way out of his grasp but he wouldn’t move an inch, his hold only growing firmer around you.
“Stop moving around so much,” Aventurine grunted, cracking a single eye open as he peered down at you. You obeyed, but you were too flustered to even make eye contact with him so your wings had moved to guard your reddening face. You heard him make a sound of confusion, his arms moving to prod them away.
“Hey… Let me see your pretty face.” He huffed, finger tugging at your wings.
Pretty!?
Now you really didn’t want to make eye contact with him, your wings firmly remaining where they are.
“You need to get some rest, Aven. You’re drunk!” You protested, trying to swat his hands away. He pouted.
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Aventurine…”
“No.”
“Aventurine!”
He rolled his eyes at you.
“Fine, I will, but you aren’t going anywhere.”
“Wh–”
Aventurine kept you in place in a spooning position so that way you had no escape from him. His face had resumed nuzzling into your hair this time, inhaling the familiar scent of your shampoo with a satisfied hum.
Your face was burning red at this point, stuck between wanting to escape his hold to staying where you are and living in your rom-com fantasy. You chose the latter.
With a defeated sigh, you made yourself comfortable. It looks like you’ll be here for a while…
-----
It had started to rain throughout the night, following into the next morning. The rain pelted against the glass windows of your house relentlessly, the sound putting your mind at ease. The smell of a familiar expensive cologne clouded your senses, reminding you of a blond gambler as you were about to drift back to sleep.
Wait. A familiar expensive cologne. A blond gambler.
Wait…
Your eyes flew back open, darting around the living room as you tried to locate Aventurine. The sound of a toilet being flushed and a door creaking open snapped your attention towards the bathroom, heart pounding in your chest as the memories from last night flooded back. You heard slow footsteps coming from the hallway, a small yawn coming from Aventurine as his eyes met yours.
“Oh hey, you’re awake. How was your sleep?” He casually asked, flashing you a small smile.
You sat there stunned, eyes blinking at him as he chuckled at your expression.
“Well, judging by the way you were clinging to me and your refusal for me to get up… I’d say you had an amazing good night's rest.” Aventurine’s smile morphed into a smug smirk, plopping down right next to you.
“Y-you–”
“Ah bup bup,” he shushed you, “I have a clue as to what happened last night. With my coat neatly folded up, my footwear being set next to the couch, my–” “Nothing happened!”
You interrupted, some of your feathers popping off due to the heart attack this stupid blond man was giving you. They had moved to cover your heated cheeks, leaving you an opening to look at the shit-eating expression Aventurine had on his face. You wanted to punch him right then and there, but you wouldn’t.
“Ohoh why so flustered? If you’re this embarrassed, then I can assume–” “No! You just passed out drunk on the couch and you refused to let me go! I-I would never do such a thing with a customer! Let alone if they’re drunk!” You cried, waving your arms in front of you. Aventurine pouted at you.
“Oh? And here I thought that I was special– that I meant something to you.” He dramatically sighed, falling back against the couch with an arm across his face.. “It seems that I read too far into your actions, dear _____.”
Your heart fluttered, confusion etched into your features at his words.
“Special? Reading too far into my actions? What do you mean?” You nervously chuckled, fiddling with your fingers.
Aventurine lifted his arm so it no longer covered his face, his magenta and cyan eyes piercing through your own with a gaze so intense it made you shiver. “I thought that it was obvious, _____.”
“What? What are you–”
Within a blink of an eye, he was now much closer to you. His hands which were no longer covered by his gloves gently tilted your chin up so you could look at him, his free hand interlocking with your own. You could feel the heat radiating off from your own face and his, growing hotter by the minute. You felt like you were going to overheat.
“I adore you a lot, _____.”
Yup, you were definitely going to overheat.
All you could do was gawk at him, mouth opening and closing as you struggled to get a word out.
“I-I–” Aventurine laughed, letting you go but still keeping your fingers interlocked.
“It’s okay, you don’t have to say anything. I already know the answer.” He hummed, pulling you up from your seat. “Now…”
“How about I take you out on a date? Consider it as an apology for having you take care of me all night.”

DNA ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ AVENTURINE X FEM!READER .ᐟ our meeting is a mathematical formula, a religious law, a cosmic order. proof of the destiny given to me, you are the source of my dreams.
GO TO THE EVENT MASTERLIST
It wasn't every day that Aventurine didn't text you, call you, or send you bouquets ... and surprisingly, there wasn't a day when he didn't even send you money like he always does out of nowhere so you could spoil yourself.
Not every day was your birthday, which you so wanted to spend with him, but apparently he didn't want to. You didn't want to spend such a nice day alone, and not anywhere but Penacony — the planet of dreams, and your dream, or rather wish, was that he just be here with you. From the day the universe was born аnd beyond the infinite centuries. We were probably together in a previous life and in the next because we will be together forever… His words now sound like empty promises.
Getting up and starting to dress up, suddenly as you put on your lipstick, the bell rang which startled you so it went outside the outline of your lips and there was a big red line. Perfect, not only is your lover driving you nuts, but now your makeup is too.
You hope whoever is looking for you, brings gifts. Opening the door there was absolutely no one when you looked around until you gazed down and saw a huge bouquet of your favorite flowers as you picked them up you saw a small white envelope. Looking around one last time as you went back and placed the bouquet on the table, you unfolded the letter, and the card read the following.
This is the emotion they call love because, from the very beginning, my heart runs to you, and just like the flowers you are only blooming for me.
There was no name or signature, just this message written in very beautiful handwriting you don't recognize. But you are not that dense, it's probably from him trying to compensate somehow because it was late in the evening already and there was no trace of what you could call the man of your dreams. Or maybe he was just a dream now? You won’t be surprised if he was.
Your phone buzzed as you got a message from Dr. Ratio, a good friend of yours, telling you to meet him at a specific address. Oddly, he gives you the location as a solution to a math problem. Why the sudden need for cryptic puzzles? Solving equations is the last thing on your mind right now... but you get the answer and, having dressed up for the occasion, decide it’s worth going.
When you reach the destination, you expect to find the purple-haired genius himself—but instead, you’re greeted by someone entirely different. Your lover stands there, idly playing with a poker chip, his eyes already knowing you’re approaching. He listens to the echo of your heels, flipping the chip in the air, catching it in his hand as he finally turns to look at you.
Neither of you says a word at first. He smirks, removing his hat, What a gentleman, you thought, and takes your hand. “The game’s not over yet. Trust me, this is a guaranteed win.” With a sly smile, he places the chip in your hand. Had he really spent all day at the casino, sending flowers for practically no reason?
“Aventurine, are you serious right now?” You can't hide the anger and disappointment as you toss the chip to the ground. He just watches you, observing you intently as always. “No calls, no texts, no you all day, and then you send me flowers like it’s nothing—”
He chuckles, clearly entertained by your reaction, finding you just as adorable as ever. “What’s so funny?”
“The bigger the risk, the better the reward, darling.” His arm slides around your waist, pulling you close. It’s only then that you take in your surroundings: an elegantly decorated room with an enormous Happy Birthday sign. Every detail exudes luxury.
“What? Cat got your tongue?” he teases. For a moment, you’re speechless. And then, regaining your composure, you smack him lightly on the arm. “So, you ignored me on purpose?” He lets out a playful ow, quickly followed by his gentle laughter. “Stop laughing! Nothing about this is funny! You should be ash—”
“Don't worry, love. All of this is not a coincidence,” he says removing a strand from your hair and then gently caressing your cheek with his gloved hand, leaning in closer and you could feel the way his eyes held all the love in the whole wide world made you forget about earlier, about the reason you were mad at him in the first place, not when you closed the distance too.
“Happy Birthday, my beloved darling…” his lips finally met yours and it was like the first time you shared a kiss, love at first sight as if you were meant to be. Your meeting is a mathematical formula, a religious law, a cosmic order. Proof of the destiny given to him by the Aeons, you are the source of his dreams, the only true lovers.

aventurine x fem! reader
warnings: boss x secretary, VERY out of character, reader is tired of avens gambling addiction
this is my first post here and also my first time trying to write something in english that isn't for school, so sorry if there are mistakes. hope someone likes it!
Many times you regretted picking up this job.
It was the 10th missing call you left to Aventurine. As always, he didn't picked the phone.
Sighing, you got up from your confy bed. You didn't even bother to change to proper clothes, judging by the time, almost 3 am, everyone at the casino would be too drunk to notice some girl walking in there in sleeping clothes. Your priority right now was to take Aventurine out of there and go back to your confy bed.
After a short ride in your car, you got in that demonic place. The bright lights were blinding you. You really hated casinos.
You didn't have to search too much to find the man you were looking for. A fight in the poker table was the only necessary hint you needed to find your boss. When you reached the scene, it was the same as always: some looser that doesn't accept his bad luck.
"There's no way you won five rounds in a row!" a guy shouted while holding the little peacock of your boss by the shirt collar.
This always happened, and you always appeared to save him from a beating. But this night you were tired, tired of all the paperwork he gave you last minute, tires of staying up because he didn't want to pick his fucking phone, tired for having to take the car at 3 am and tired of seeing the same scene every freaking night.
He saw you behind the guy, and a proud smile appeared on his face, thinking that you were going to save him like always. You could see his face change when he saw the guy holding him and you not moving to stop him. In your mind, this would be a good lesson for him to stop his bad habits.
Then, the first punch came, making his glasses to fly away of his face. That was the fact that changed your decision of not doing anything. With his eyes exposed to the angry looser, what you expected that was going to be some punches was going to turn into another thing beyond a game.
"A damn Avgin, I knew you were a liar!" he said. You could see your boss looking for you while trying to recover from the punch.
"I'm gonna beat you so hard that you-" he stopped talking to scream in pain from your sudden grip on his arm.
"He what, little fucker?" You encouradged him to continue. Aventurine was suddenly at your side, with that horrible proud smile again in his face.
After giving the guy a little warning to never mess up with your boss, you let him go.
"For a moment I though you were going to let me on my own" he joked.
"I was" you simply said, getting out of that damn place. You knew he would follow you.
"What?!" he shouted, stopping you in the hall of the casino "Why would you let that man beat me up? You know that if I'm dead, you won't be paid, right?"
Before speaking, you took a long, long breath, so you wouldn't scream at him.
"In my contract there's nothing about saving my boss at 3 am in casinos" you breathed again ", there's nothing about risking my own life to save him from fights." you didn't breathe this time "Do you know how much I sleep beetwin finishing the work that you give me in the last minute and searching for you?! For the love of the Aeons, I'm a secretary! I shouldn't be beating people up for you!"
You didn't notice, but you started crying in the first sentence. And you wouldn't notice if he didn't wipe the tears at your cheeks. You were too angry to let him touch you, and tried to push him away, but he got close again and hugged you. This time, you just accepted the hug, but didn't hug him back.
"I didn't know I was causing you so much stress and trouble," he whispered in your ear "I'm sorry for everything"
"Being sorry isn't enough"
"I know, just as you know that I can't promise you to stop gambling" he separated from you to see your face, and took off his jacket to put it over you (you didn't realise you were trembling) "but I can promise you that I'll try to control myself"
You didn't reply, just buried your face on his neck and hug him.
"When I started working with you and saw you risking your life like it is nothing, I wonder if you knew what self-love is" you asked, holding him tighter
"Why would I care about risking my life when no one cares?"
"I'm gonna kill you" you broke the hug and prepared to beat him.
"Wait wait wait, it's not the same as what I mean" he got away from you "you only care because I'm your boss"
"You little..." you breathed to calm yourself down "If i only cared about you professionaly, I wouldn't go to casinos in the middle of the night in sleeping clothes only to look for you and make sure that you're okay. You don't pay me enough to do all that shit"
He seemed to think about what you said.
"Do you mean that you do that because you care about me?"
He looked at you like he just had discovered a whole new galaxy.
"Yes"
"In a loving way?"
"Maybe, can we go now?" you started to get embarassed of all this sudden confession.
"Wait" he holded you, one hand in your arm and other on your cheek "That means that I can kiss you?"
You easily got away from his hold.
"Yes, but not tonight" you started to go to your car, taking your keys to open it "You won't get a kiss until you return every missing call that I left you this week"
"Oh, common!" he run after you, unable to hold back the genuine smile that appeared in his face.
I really went out of character but hope that someone likes this.

Shadows beneath dazzling lights
(Aventurine x Memokeeper! fem!reader)
Chatters of customers along with the clanging of champagne glasses were heard all around the casino as people wagered their bets on one another. It is suffice to say that Penacony truly is a place worth dreaming of: having to leisurely spend your time into the ravishing sights brought by the dreamscape, decorated by the illuminating towers of endless entertainment. And this night is no exception to the one and only Aventurine. He hums as he sips the glass full of tequila, relishing on the tingling pain as its aftertaste: maybe being a masochist was his thing after all, he thought. As far as he knows, nothing has yet to steal his full attention amongst the crowd of people all lathered in jewelries of gold and such, the feeling of familiarity and oddity clinging onto his back reminding him of so. Just then, as he takes a last sip on the glass, he felt a stray glance being shot to his position. 'And who might this be?' he thought to himself. Feeling enthralled by the idea of being sought by someone, it sent shivers down his spine as he eagerly gets up from the luxurious couch, ready to strike up a conversation and to hopefully make a deal with a new client friend.
You spun out your fingers at the empty glass, glancing on the blonde's position only to see him gone yet again. Seems like fate had played its tricks on you again, though not in the way you expected. Just when you were about to stand up, you were greeted by a familiar voice sitting right beside you. "Fancy seeing you here, miss memokeeper," Shit, you've been caught. " Silent as ever, huh? You sure do have ways to avoid such conflicts. Not that I would dare stir one in front of many right now," He smirks as he stares at the empty glass in your table.
"Two glasses of Cosmopolitan, please."
"Comin' right up sir!"
You stare at him in disbelief, gosh was he so sly for that one. Coughing, you briefly excuse yourself as you quickly motioned to the bartender. "No thanks, I'll have a French 75 instead"
"Ooh, quite the sharp one miss, I see. How about an icebreaker for that one? Pretty sure you don't want to embarrass this youn-"
"I said what I said," you spat out, glaring at the now smug Aventurine. He shrugs it off, silently telling the bartender to do his thing.
"Simply terrific of you. Why don't you wipe off that irk on your face and let's have a small talk, nothing fishy of course,"
"You can't even see my face, idiot."
"Ah, right. My apologies then, dear friend," he retorts, emphasizing the word 'friend'.
Silence. A long break of silence is heard between the two of you, both relishing in the awkward atmosphere lingering in the air. It may not seem like it, but you find yourself feeling a sense of peace while quietly observing the guy's figure. Sometimes, you do wonder what is up with him and his brain that piqued your interest. Was it the fact that he is a senior executive of the IPC? Maybe it was because he always seemed to win all of his games despite the odds? Or perhaps it was something about that sly and cunning facade of his? The mask he always wears in public, just like you do; in different ways that is. Whatever it is, you despise the fact that you somewhat feel pitiful around him, as if he was someone pretending who he was not meant to be, someone who is but a sheep in wolf's clothing always eager to engage in situations that would bring him thrill and adrenaline rushing through his veins. But sometimes, that pity of yours may just be in the right place at the right time.
"Excuse me ma'am and sir, I believe it's best that both of you leave this place. The bar is nearing its closing hours."
"You can leave the both of us if that's your concern. I'll rent this place for the night if that option's available"
"Sure thing sir! It's just that-"
"Dont worry, we'll make sure that we won't make any ruckus here," he chuckles, sliding some stack of freshly printed cash at the counter. Shocked by his sudden actions, the bartender takes the money and quickly leaves the place, flipping the open sign to close before fully leaving.
"You really had to do that, huh?" you sigh, shaking your head at what he did just now. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable how he could just waste his money just like that. "Why not? Thought that only two could play this kind of game?" he replies, a smirk forming on his lips.
"What kind of game you say?"
"It depends on you, miss memokeeper~"
"I'll pass."
"Aw shucks. And to think that you have something bothering you right now. Tell me, do childish games bore the likes of you? Shall I raise the stakes even higher?" he asks, ever so confident as usual.
"........."
"Ah there you are again, miss memokeeper. You're quite the kill-"
"No thanks. I'd rather have it done my way," you reply. Aventurine was so surprised to hear these words coming out of your mouth: it's usually the other way around, where he is the one always being cocky and bold. And just then as he was processing what had just happened...
"May I invite you for this... dance, Mr. Aventurine?" soft eyes meet his slightly shocked ones as you bow down, slowly placing his fingertips at the palm of your hands, leaving a soft and tender kiss on his gloved skin. There you are, standing in front of him, poised in all of your glory: body adorned with smooth silk cloth, decorated with luscious white pearls that resemble the many stars painted across the starry nights of the galaxy. Your head, crowned with an embroidered veil atop of your porcelain mask.
Oh Aeons, if he isn't already lucky enough this also happened, just when he needed something for a momentary break from his usual scheme. He ought to take this opportunity, for this is something only to be witnessed by one once in a blue moon. 'Thank Aeons I keep on winning my wagers' he muttered to himself, accepting your offer by returning the favor.
"My, my. I can't say that I would fully accept this bet of yours. But that wouldn't mean that I'd fully decline it either ~" he jokingly teases, all while standing up to meet you eye to eye.
"Either way, an offer is an offer. Regardless of its significance to you, just remember that I only take those that truly benefit me. One isn't willing to be on the losing end of every game, no?" he asks, his hands finding its way on your own.
"I'll consider that, mr. Aventurine," you hummed in response, eyes focused on his subtle movements. "However....." you look at his hands, then glance at yours.
"What is it miss memokeeper?"
"Isn't this position... a bit odd?" you question him, slightly disappointed and concerned at the same time. It seems that things are to turn awkward for the both of you yet again. He felt an awkward smile creep up to his smile upon realizing what he just did. He did not just.... Sighing, you gently let go of your hands around his to help him reposition his hands to the right place.
"This one... goes here. And the other goes... there. Perfect. Now it doesn't feel strange anymore," you replied, chuckling softly at his gesture. Repositioning both of your clasped hands on your side, you patiently wait for his response. Strangely enough, he only looked at you with a tender gaze, telling you that he is vulnerable comfortable enough to begin.
"What are you waiting for, miss memokeeper? The night is young and the game has just begun," Aventurine teases. It's not like he gets to see you like this everyday. Especially when you are always successful at avoiding his sights in broad daylight. Slowly but surely you sway your hips with him as you rock your entwined hands with him back and forth. The cold air breeze mixed with the intoxicating scent of his expensive perfume only made you feel more bolder as you tug his hands, telling him to follow your lead. It didn't help that the dim lights were making it hard for the both of you to see, but that didn't matter right now: what matters is the scene that is laid upon your very eyes, an alluring one. One that is worthy of keeping in the garden of recollection. Warm breaths fan over your neck as he brings his head down to you, putting your movement to a halt. It stayed like that for a while: Aventurine playing with the ends of your veil as he inhales your scent. Aeons was he truly dazed by your gracious beauty.
But somehow, just somehow, it would seem that empathy and pity would wash over the thrill of the moment as you unconsciously wander your hands along his back, making his body shriek a little. You let him do his own thing while you try to balance yourself, signaling to you that intoxication is starting to take its toll on your stature. It would look like that you were an emanator sent by an Aeon, and it quite is, giving how your glooming presence had taken him aback; you're going to be the death of him that's for sure.
"Tell me, does it feel suffocating?" you ask, hands lightly grazing all over his neck, looking at him with awe and concern.
"It's not like I have a say on that. I've been living on the edge long enough to blur the lines between breathing and suffocating." Aventurine replies, his breath hitching along his lines. It was obvious he was bottling up all this pent up emotions he could never truly express properly.
"....Is that so? Then.... Why don't you allow me?"
Amused by the sudden request, he chuckles at the idea. "Daring to try, I see. Remember, I don't play games with me on the losing end, friend."
"It is not a mere suggestion, Mr. IPC. It's an order," you retort monotonously, the tone of dominance lingering on your voice ever so slightly. It seems that you've got him trapped at his own game. Shrugging his shoulders, he willingly puts his hands up in the air, as if he's messing with you. "Alright alright, looks like you've caught me on that one. Do whatever you please, miss~" he responds with a sly smirk all over his face.
"............."
There is it again: the abhorrent silence quickly enveloping the dimly lit room. Only the thud of your footsteps were heard as you circle around his fragile figure, hands moving its way on his shoulder without breaking your eye contact with him. making it to his front, you slightly bow down, placing a kiss on his right hand you had just swiftly placed on the palm of your unoccupied hand. Standing up, you set yourselves in a sensual pace as you lead him to dance freely, still making sure that he was on the same tempo as you. Perfect, now's your chance to secretly pry unto his past in hopes of collecting new, unfound memories; all the while he was distracted by your moves.
Distraught by what's happening, Aventurine closes his eyes as you lead him senselessly. He expects you to use him in such ways one could not easily comprehend, but this is far better from what he had anticipated. Had he not let his guard down, this would have end up very differently. Still, he let it all happen at once, waiting for the right time to strike. And that's where it hit him: this was the perfect opportunity to flip you off your table to gain an upper hand. Just as you were about to spin, he swiftly cages you in his hands, giving him the time to clasp your hands with his while the other tightly grips onto your waist. Now it's his turn to dominate this friendly duel. It became harder for you to encapsulate his memories as he leads you in the heat of the battle: the pace turning faster and more intense. You try to break free from his grasp when you look at his eyes, gazing at you oh so tenderly. You can't help but look back at him with awe as your bodies twist and turn around each other.
"That's it, miss memokeeper. Look at me, look at me as if I were weak and pathetic. Gaze into my eyes and tell me what you see. Go ahead and strip me of everything I had, my past even, it's all yours; all yours" he whispers to you, as if he was begging.
Looking into his eyes dread of light, you tap onto the murky abyss that is his whole existence: the fall of his nation, his demise in the hands of the duke, all the constant suffering he had endured just to witness the sunset he had wished to see with his long lost sister. All of it, locked behind his eyes devoid of life. Somehow, it made you feel like you wanted, no, you needed to puke out. Such things should not be experienced by one, let alone at a young age. You feel the presence of IX gazing over you, having you on its chokehold, ready to end your existence simply by its sheer force of nothingness crushing over you; leaving you with no choice but to forcefully close your eyes in hopes of escaping death itself. You successfully escaped your fate of turning into nothing but dust. Doing so however, you also left the blonde man all alone in the dreamscape, isolated in his own world of thoughts processing what had just happened. He was all alone again, just like what he's used to.
It was truly strange how despite being in the path of preservation, the Aeon of nihility lurks over that man. Perhaps now is not the time to know the truth, but there is one thing you're very sure of: that there will be time where you'll meet him again. And whether it is in at the time of uncertainty or his demise even, you were certain that only fate itself would allow you to peek into his hollow eyes for one last time, hopefully keeping all what's left in him in his final moments.
(Totally not inspired by that acheswan animation from mihoyo themselves, no no 🫣🫣 Also aventurine's pov will be posted at some time ig)

"need a light?"
you glance up from your sputtering lighter, the last hint of the flame dying out. aventurine gives you a smug little grin. you sigh, but lean forward when he produces his own lighter—gold-plated, embossed with a spade—and flicks it to life.
a breeze stirs, whipping through the alleyway. he cups his hand around the flame to keep it from guttering out. his fingers are long and bird-boned, deceptively delicate.
you breathe in until the tip of your cigarette burns, a sunset catching fire at the edge of the horizon. you exhale, the smoke wisping out from your mouth.
"how'd you find me?" you ask.
his smile gleams; you think of the moon hanging high in the sky, a lonely mirror.
"c'mon," he says. "you gotta give me a little more credit."
you hum. "i give you plenty of credit."
"not enough, apparently."
"apparently. what do you want?"
"maybe i just want the pleasure of your company."
you pin him with a deadpan stare; he laughs, the sound bright like champagne, a crisp pop of sound. it shows his teeth.
"spit it out, aventurine," you say.
"aren't you going to offer me a cigarette?"
you roll your eyes, but you hold out your case. he slips one free and twirls it deftly. he tucks it between the sly curve of his lips, but he doesn't go for his lighter. there's a challenge in his eyes.
you exhale a sharp stream of smoke. then you slink forward into his space, until the tip of your cigarette presses against his, the cherry of it burning bright. he leans in closer. despite the smoke, you can still catch a hint of his cologne, citrusy with a marine kiss of ambergris.
this close, you could count his sun-gold eyelashes. he gazes at you from beneath them. the heat of his breath curls between the two of you. there's a promise hanging in the air.
his cigarette catches; he pulls away. the chilly air rushes in to fill the space between you, leaving you cold.
he exhales, a dragon's breath of smoke. "that's better," he says. "thanks."
"just tell me why you're here."
"c'mon, don't be cold. we're friends!"
"we're something," you drawl.
he grins; a shiver ripples down your spine. "we're something," he agrees.
you take another drag. "don't you have important things to be doing? saps to swindle? you know i'm not one of them."
aventurine gazes at you for a moment, his bi-colored eyes sharp. in the dim, they almost seem to glow. he blows out a stream of smoke.
"no," he says. "you're not."
something stirs in your chest. there's warmth to it, the soft heat of hearthstones long after the fire has gone out. you grimace.
"aventurine."
he hums.
you sigh, dropping your cigarette butt and grinding it out beneath your heel. "go home," you say. "there's nothing here for the ipc."
"we both know that's not true."
you hiss out an annoyed breath. "you don't know when to quit, do you?"
"it's all or nothing," he says, a coy grin blooming on his lips. "i thought you knew that by now."
you push off the wall you've been leaning against. "i do. that's why i don't bet with you."
he laughs. you ignore him and head for the door that leads out to the alley. he catches you by the wrist. before you can pull free, he slips his lighter into your palm. he curls your fingers closed over it, his touch lingering.
"what—"
"since yours isn't working," he says, letting go. the heat of him lingers on your skin. you try to press it back into his hand; he pulls away before you can. "ah ah, no take backs."
you sigh, tucking it away in a pocket. "fine. thanks."
he'll come back for it later. you both know it.
"bye," you say, slipping by him. you open the door; the sound of the casino spills out.
"catch you later," he says. once, you'd have thought it was flippant. but now—
it sounds a lot like a promise.

Fic under the cut for length ✨️
Besides the fact that someone had announced they’d come after Aventurine's life, the two have had a normal evening like any other.
After dinner, the two men went to one of the casinos in Penacony, and once it was time for bed due to a meeting before noon the following day, they headed back to the hotel.
So, Aventurine went to bed with a goodnight kiss, with his bodyguard and secret lover staying up to fend off any threats.
Seth had no issue pulling an all-nighter to keep watch over his employer. He secured the front of the door with a little table and a chair from inside their shared room.
On said table, he had placed down the utensils and parts of his disassembled pistol as well as the still whole one, so he could clean them one by one.
Nothing and nobody would get past him.
Nothing but peace and quiet. The only thing that could be heard was the quiet chatter and steps of the few people wandering the distant hallways, the quiet buzz of electricity, and the muffled, soft splashes and bubbling of the liquid filling the Dreampools.
Well, besides the clicking of metal and soft rustling of the thin brush or the cloth he was using to clean ‘Crime’ and ‘Punishment’ - his faithful twin pistols - with.
Alas, after a while, he did hear quite some noise and screams from inside. A loud thud. Immediately, Seth jumped up and barged into the room. Alarmed.
The chair toppled over. Thud. The door flung open. He readied his pistols. They clicked. Checked the room for his boyfriend. For any threat that might've infiltrated the room. His muscles tensed up. Unable to find him. Blood and adrenaline rushed through his veins.
“Aven?!”, he called out.
No signs of a break-in…
His eyes darted around the dimly lit room. Spotting a tuft of blond hair next to the farther side of the bed, he relaxed his posture. Held the guns so they'd point up, until he'd eventually put them away.
His crimson eyes checked for any possible injuries on the smaller man. Hopefully just a few minor bruises from falling off the bed, from what he assumed. His gaze spoke more a “You okay?” than he’d voice out.
“Seth!”, said one exclaimed before letting out a sigh of relief upon spotting his bodyguard and partner to the rescue. His heart was racing. His eyes darted around in panic. His throat felt dry. Cold sweat glistened on his pale skin. Crystalline, almost sparkling tears streamed down his cheeks.
“You're awake..”.
His voice rarely sounded so thin. So shaky. So scared.
The nightmare must have been a particularly bad one.
With a small breath of relief, Crime and Punishment slipped back into the holsters on his harness. He pushed the door closed using his foot. With just a few strides, he walked over to the bed.
After picking him up like a sad wet cat, he placed the smaller man down on the mattress.
Handed him a glass of water he just poured from the carafe on the nightstand. Watched as his boss emptied it in one go, cupping them with his own hands to steady the blond's trembling own ones.
“Hey hey hey- Shh..~ Bad dream?”, he asked in a hushed but concerned tone.
Sitting down on the edge of the soft mattress, Seth spread his arms. Offered a hug to his panicked partner. His jaw clenched. His heart sunk in his chest.
He understood that Aventurine didn't want to share everything with him, and he respected his decision. But it hurt to see him in so much pain that wasn't willing to have Seth share carrying the weight of the pain he was experiencing.
Aventurine was usually a stoic person, but the nightmares appeared to be slowly chipping away at his resolve.
He’d only confessed to Seth once how the dreams had changed, from childhood fears to more of a recurring, vivid one that was almost too painful to share. That hit too close to home.
Cerberus’ brows furrowed. A mask of concern replaced his usually either lazy grin or his slightly irritated expression.
He wasn't a man of many words. A firm believer of “actions spoke louder than words”. Which is why he didn't force Aventurine to tell him about his nightmares.
The Avgin accepted his partner's hug eventually. Crawled closer to wrap his body around the other's much bigger frame. The warmth he provided was soothing. The nightmare had left him freezing even though the room had a comfortable temperature.
As he was held close, he began to relax little by little. Let go of his worries. Seth was his safe haven, even if he didn't want to admit it.
Pulling the blond man in, the bodyguard also wrapped the blanket around him.
“Hope the holsters aren't in the way…”, he whispered to his boyfriend.
Seth leaned his head against his, gently rubbing his back.
Slowly, he felt Aventurine relax in his arms, his muscles losing more and more of the tension from before. Based on the shorter one’s response, the holsters didn't pose too much of a hindrance.
So, the two snuggled in silence for a while until the gambler spoke up again.
“It was a.. terrible dream”, he whispered.
His voice sounded weak and threatening to crack and break out into tears. His eyes closed as he continued to settle down. He didn't have the confidence to look up at his beloved protector and partner.
“A recurring one… One that I can't seem to shake off.”.
Pressing a gentle kiss to the other man’s temple, he pulled him even closer, onto his lap, intently listening in silence.
Whenever they sat like that, Seth realized just how small, how fragile Aventurine was in comparison to himself. That alone made the dual-hair-coloured man want to protect him even more. To hold him even more gently.
Feeling the blond nuzzle more into his chest, he buried his own face in the crook of his boyfriend's neck. Inhaled his sweet scent.
Seth still hadn’t lost any words for a good couple of minutes.
“Don't worry. I'm here to chase them off as often as you need me to. I swore an oath to protect you till the end of time, so I will come whenever you call my name.”.
His low, raspy voice rumbled against the blond's neck as he placed soft kisses along Aventurine's cheek, jaw, and neck to distract him. His stubble tickled his delicate skin.
His partner felt more vulnerable than ever, his body being propped into his arms like that.
He was already short compared to Seth, and the difference in size and stature made him almost feel like a child again.
That was okay, though. Because it reminded him he had someone strong and devoted to protect him now. Someone who kept him more or less sane in this insanity surrounding the IPC.
When his personal guard hound kissed him, he shivered at the touch of his lips. Shuffling up a bit higher as the kisses continued down his neck.
“Just… stay close to me, okay?”, he sighed, relaxing completely.
Seth's breathing was calm and slow, much like his heartbeat since realizing that his employer was not in danger.
He was a man of his word. Not even once did he let anyone touch his boyfriend. Giving a nod and a low grumble, he agreed.
“Want to lie down again or stay like this?”, he inquired.
His crimson eyes glanced up at the teal and purple ones of Aventurine. Those beautiful eyes he often got lost in.
His boyfriend thought about his question before replying with a small smile reminiscent of his usually so confident one: “I feel very comfortable in your arms. If you don't mind, I'd rather stay here a little longer.”.
His hands came up to rest on the taller man's chest, his lips curling upwards a tad more. After everything, He was still trembling slightly.
“You smell nice”, he murmured, his eyelids fluttering a bit.
With another nod, he accepted the other's decision.
“Fine with me” is what his smile meant.
Rubbing the blond's head, he glanced down at the hands on his chest before he planted another kiss on Aventurine's forehead.
“Thank you. I'm trying out that new perfume.”.
It seemed that it was something that suited his partner's taste. Even though Seth was nothing but his bodyguard in public, he did go for items he knew the shorter man would like to see on him.
“The perfume suits you”, Aventurine replied with an appreciative smile.
It smelled nice, almost like the cologne Cerberus occasionally wore when he took him to nice places.
The Stoneheart would never ask directly, but he knew that Seth bought those things solely for him - if he wasn't the one spoiling his beloved dog, showering him in them. There was no denying that Seth was good at taking care of what he loved.
“I love you”, Aventurine mumbled.
His words were soft and gentle as he pressed his cheek against the broad chest in front of him.
“Thanks, I was hoping you'd like it.”.
“I love you too”, he rasped, resting his head atop of his boyfriend's.
There was no doubt that his heart began to flutter in his chest whenever he snuggled up against him like that. A soft blush spread on his cheeks as he relaxed his pectoral so they'd be a more comfortable pillow despite the vest, tie, and dress shirt being in the way either way.
Leaning his head against the other male's, Seth seemed so mellow.
Out on the field, in sight of prying eyes, he always seemed so battle-hardy, cruel, cold, and emotionally distant.
Everybody who'd be told that this man, also known as 'Cerberus', was such an affectionate softie behind closed doors, they'd never believe it.
Aventurine sighed contently, his body pressed against Seth’s, burritoed in his arms. He felt content and safe in his embrace.
For a moment, he contemplated just falling asleep here, but the thought of missing out on spending quality time with his loved one deterred such a tempting idea.
His eyelids fluttered as his breathing became more relaxed, but his mind was still a little active.
“Seth?”
"Hmm?", he asked with a low rumble vibrating in his chest.
Glancing down, he couldn't see the other male's face regardless, but it helped him focus more on the blond. Seth was waiting patiently for the other to tell him what he needed.
Aventurine’s voice was soft and tender when he spoke, a pleasant contrast to his usual composed demeanor. A luxury only Seth was allowed to see. How vulnerable he was. How human. How delicate.
“Promise me you won’t ever leave my side, Seth. There’s so much of the world I’d like you to see. With me. You're the only reason why I haven't fully gone insane yet. Just promise me you’ll always be with me.”
Though it was a bit of a silly thing to ask someone who worked as his bodyguard, he couldn’t help but want to hear his answer.
Hearing Aventurine voice out those words made him chuckle softly, his shoulders trembling slightly.
Picking up the smaller man and setting him back down next to him on the bed, Seth slipped off the mattress. Kneeling in front of his boyfriend, he gently grasped his small, pale hands. Bringing them up to his face, Seth pressed a soft kiss to the back of his hands. As he gazed up, rubies gleaming softly in the dim lighting, he locked eyes with Aventurine.
“I pledge to never leave your side, to never let any harm befall you, to always be your spear and shield~ I shall guard you with my life, even if it's the last thing I do.”.
Aventurine’s heart skipped a beat as Seth kissed the back of his hands. Though he’d already promised to protect him, the gesture was as powerful as the words he spoke, if not more.
His lips pursed together slightly as his eyes met yours. He could tell this wasn’t just a simple promise.
It was a vow. A vow to protect and cherish him till death.
Even though Seth was no knight in shining armor, he'd still do anything in his power to protect the one he loved. Since he had accepted that people nicknamed him Cerberus, He could see what made them call him that in the first place. He viciously protected the blond, much like how the three-headed Hellhound was guarding the Gate of Hell.
Without warning, he pulled his bodyguard down and pressed a chaste kiss to his lips. His heart was racing with each passing second.
Seth was caught off guard, something that was hard to achieve. But just a few seconds later, he cupped Aventurine's cheeks and returned the loving kiss.
The bodyguard was a loyal, fierce man, but there was a tender and affectionate side to him that not many people had the luxury of witnessing.
Aventurine kissed him passionately, not wanting to waste another second apart. He knew that he wanted to hold his boyfriend close all night, and it was exactly what he did as he pulled him down to the bed.
Seth’s strong arms enveloped him in a tight hug, pulled his lover on top of him, so he could settle down. Watching the exhaustion eventually win the siege against Aventurine's determination to spend some quality time with him.
Or in simpler terms, a soft smile played around his lips, much like the content one on the asleep blond's lips.

IN A BIT OF TROUBLE | RAMBLES
a/n: inspired by an aventurine bot + here you go, a decent meal for ya’ll
warnings: 1.3k words, sexual content!! mentions of smoking + drinking + brownies + gambling (but not actual descriptions of it), public sex, dacryphilia, degredation
troublemaker sub who’s known to cause trouble wherever he goes. He’s similar to a walking time bomb. In one second, he’ll be seen wearing a big grin, and in the next, he’s being held by the collar by a random person. Even in that situation, he grins and shrugs. He’s a loud guy with his bluntness and insulting statements—he is, indeed, a charm that brings trouble. He usually gets bought out of situations, not having experienced too dire consequences. He’s done a lot of things: smoking, drinking, getting high, gambling. A red flag through and through.
troublemaker sub whose parents finally started to get tired of the constant complaints about him. At first, they tried to talk to him, trying to persuade him not to be so reckless, and the first week, when they told him that, he calmed down, but he stopped after that, being reckless. So, as a last resort, you were brought in and hired as a bodyguard for him.
troublemaker sub who surprisingly didn’t complain about the situation. He was initially uninterested in you, but when you saved him from a fight, he started with a random group of thugs. He’s been looking at you more closely. You always stop him. Drinking? You take the bottle away from him, throwing it to the nearest garbage or his favorite, raising it up and away from his reach—he plays along, leaning against your body and going on his tippy toes, but that’s all an act to tease you. Smoking or getting high? You either slap that shit out of his hands or chuck it into a trash can. Gambling? You stop him from going even a mile close to one.
troublemaker sub who starts to intentionally get into fights more frequently, may it be with a man or a woman, he doesn’t care (gender equality, guys). He starts fights with rowdy large individuals and with bratty, spoiled kids—sometimes, it would end up in a diss battle or throwing hands. He could always count on you to appear, your calm voice striking through the loud voices and trying to alleviate the problem he caused. Although he gets disappointed when it goes your way and the fight discontinues, he sits there, listening to you scolding him—the only thing he’s paying attention to is your face. But if it goes his way and violence happens, you’ll be in front of him with a serious expression on your face. One he enjoys.
troublemaker sub who’s gotten in trouble again. Somehow, he was cunning enough to escape your sight and enter a casino. While you were trying to find him, he crashed into your chest. He looked up with a mischievous grin and an innocent tone and confessed that he had made some guards angry. Now there you two were, you caging him against a rough wall with your hand against his mouth. In some sketchy alleyway, with shadows of the buildings looming over you both. You were thankful it was already night when he decided to cause trouble again.
troublemaker sub who dislikes the silence, so he comes up with an idea. He bit your fingers playfully, asking, although muffled if you liked this position. Of course, your first reaction was to tell him to quiet down—you knew he was a strange kid, so you didn’t care much. It's more so focused on the sounds you’re trying to hear. There was a pout on his face when you ignored his actions, so he wrapped his arms around your neck, pulling you closer to him. His feathery light touches your neck, creating goosebumps on your skin. He couldn’t help but get excited by the thrill of being caught in such a position with you despite the possibility of being caught.
troublemaker sub with your fingers in his mouth, muffled whimpers, and whines coming from his lips. He tries his best to suckle on your digits. He felt heat pool down his lower abdomen, liking the look of your annoyed expression as you told him to shut up with your rough voice. He grinds against your thigh, feeling himself grow harder. He was enjoying the friction given to him, stuttering out thank you’s in his voice and his mind. Although, he couldn’t help but want more, his mind burning with more lustful thoughts.
troublemaker sub who has one leg over your shoulder. Your arm was under his leg, giving it support yet forcing it to fold upwards, and your fingers were still knuckled deep inside his wet cavern. Your other hand held his thigh up so he wasn’t standing anymore. If you let him go right now, he’ll probably fall into your arms. He felt his mind racing from how he was being pushed up against the wall, a vulnerable position to be in. He didn’t know he was this flexible; it did pain him a little… but that didn’t mean it wasn’t pleasurable. He didn’t try to quiet down his moans, his voice ringing desperately. His pants were too tight for comfort, and your clothed member grinding against his didn’t make it better. He was desperate, desperate for more—wanting… needing it. He’s willing to beg even if that means you fuck him then and there.
troublemaker sub who’s sobbing on your dick, grinding against it. Your fingers were still inside his mouth, trying to quiet him down and only serving him to make pathetic whines. His mind felt fuzzy, yet it could conjure up thoughts, thinking about how you were splitting him so wide. His dazed eyes were teary, and he had a pleading look. He wanted you to at least grind back into him, and he tried his best to grind down onto your dick, feeling it throb and pulsate inside his gummy walls. When you still didn’t move, he sobbed out, wanting you so desperately to move. Be rough or gentle, so whatever. Just begging you to fuck him.
troublemaker sub whose mind goes blank when you start to thrust into him. Your thrusts were deep and precise, hitting his prostate head-on. He felt fat tears rolling down his eyes; it felt so fucking good. The way you roughly slammed against his prostate made him tighten even more. His muffled mewling turns you on. You wanted to show him his place, that his cheeky and bold persona is only a facade—being easily broken by his bodyguard’s dick. His flushed face had tear stains; even then, tears continued to run down his cheeks as he gagged around your fingers while also moaning like a whore around you.
troublemaker sub who cries harder when you whisper words in his ears. He felt your hot breath fanning against his ears, making them flush red from the hot air. Imagine the way he let out a pitiful whimper when you started to humiliate him. His body is burning up more, and his hands are digging into your clothes. Even with your degrading words, he bucked his hips while tears fell through his puffy red eyes. You were making him go insane, and when you started to talk about how much of a loser he was, he felt himself cum against your bodies—dirtying yours and his clothes at the same time. A sleek layer of sweat on his forehead.
troublemaker sub who always makes trouble for both of you, with him leading you to slightly isolated spaces (which are still in public) and with him being pushed up against walls. That’s when he just wanted to have a little fun with you. Afterward, he was always seen with a sweaty and disheveled appearance when you deemed it safe enough to leave whatever isolated place he took you to, with your attire, somehow, still intact. With you escorting him back to the confines of his house.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the guards almost caught you both in the act! It’s safe to say he got hard again.

❀ ˎˊ- prompt: bringing aventurine back from the nightclub ❀ ˎˊ- aventurine x gn!reader ❀ ˎˊ- wc: 1.1k ❀ ˎˊ- warnings: alcohol mentions, aventurine being aventurine, written before 2.1 ❀ ˎˊ- img credits
If not attending business meetings or gambling away in casinos, Aventurine can instead be found at nightclubs, with a brightly colored drink swirling leisurely in his hand.
He finds that he rather likes the atmosphere of the nightlife, with the darkness of the night providing a safe cover for him and any other partygoers, the loud roar of drunken clients drowning out any secrets or sorrows, and the blaring neon lights a distraction from the meaningless toil of the day. The energy of the party sweeps one away in a tsunami of alcohol and laughter and hands that wander where they shouldn't.
Aventurine takes another sip of his beverage - a margarita this time - and savors the slight burn as it slides down his throat. His elbow rests casually on the bar counter as he simply takes in the delirious atmosphere.
He doesn't remember which glass he's on now, nor does he particularly care. All Aventurine needs to bother with is keeping his drink covered and his wit still relatively intact, and a few measly glasses isn't enough to win him over.
Still, it doesn't mean that the alcohol isn't taking its effect on him. While Aventurine's eyes are as sharp as ever, both observing the ridiculous acts of drunken clients with almost sadistic amusement and keeping an eye out for any malicious intent, he can't deny the warm tingle in the back of his head that comes with his drinks.
He lets out a content sigh into the alcohol-laced air, raising his gaze to the multicolored ceiling.
Yes, this was perfect for him, he muses, a bitter smile on his face. This was where he belonged, in a twisted sanctuary for people to temporarily drink and party themselves out of reality. This was the only place left for people like him.
"I thought I might find you here."
As if by habit, Aventurine chuckles, straightening his posture. Taking another sip of his drink, he takes his time turning to you and meeting your disapproving gaze.
"Well, if it isn't my favorite assistant," he hums, the glass still hovering above his lips, the nectar within just a few bits away from pouring into his mouth. "What brings you all the way here?"
As he doesn't already know the answer.
"You, who else?" You sound exasperated, but your words bring upon satisfaction as his smile grows wider.
"Aww," Aventurine coos. He downs the rest of his drink, setting it down on the bar before leaning on the counter towards you, propping his head up on his palm. "Was someone worried about me?"
Again, he eagerly awaits for your answer.
You give him a tired look, one that he's seen many, many times in his career. Yet you decide to indulge him, a defeated sigh leaving you.
"Obviously," you say bluntly. "You'll destroy your liver at this rate."
Aventurine laughs good-naturedly, the corners of his mesmerizing eyes crinkling.
"Well, aren't you sweet."
He pushes himself off the counter to stand, and shrugs on the fur coat that was hanging off his stool. With a gloved finger, he tips your chin towards him.
"I must apologize for worrying you, my dear," he says sweetly. You furrow your brows at the nickname, but Aventurine pays no mind as he quickly pays off his tab and saunters off to the building's exit. He looks back at you, amusement flickering behind those rose-tinted glasses as you stare at him, dumbfounded yet too tired to care for his antics. "Aren't you going to see me home?"
You don't remember saying anything of the sort, and Aventurine knows this, but in the end, he's still your boss and you have to do what he asks of you.
Reluctantly, you follow him out. Aventurine slings an arm around you as you come close and pulls you flush against his side as you walk down the streets of the city. When you don't protest, but rather, subtly lean into his hold, Aventurine internally breathes a sign of relief.
He doesn't treat anyone else like this, much less a subordinate. The Amber Lord knows what people have been whispering about the two of you at headquarters. But he can't help it, not when you're the only one to actively seek him out and not push him away, as annoyed with him as you sound.
Something about that attracts him to you, as much as he hates to admit it. Time and time again, whenever you take the time out of your already busy work schedule to check on him, like now, he can't stop his heart from beating a little bit faster.
"Your breath reeks of alcohol," you comment, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Is that so?" Aventurine hums thoughtfully. "I wonder why."
You roll your eyes. "If you need a distraction that badly, have you tried seeking therapy?"
"That's hardly a distraction, my dear," Aventurine chuckles. "No, unless you can come up with a better idea, I think I'll stick to the clubs."
"Or you could come to me."
You expect another laugh, but instead, Aventurine stiffens as if shocked by a lightning bolt. His eyes widen, his mouth slightly agape as he stares at you. But by the time you notice and look back to him, Aventurine's smile is back, only this time, something dark lingers behind his irises.
"Hm, I don't know about that one," he says easily, his arm falling back to his side as he quickens his pace. "You know, it isn't nice to say things you don't mean."
Indignation flashes across your face, and something in Aventurine's chest tightens.
"Sir-"
And yet, he persists despite himself.
"We should get going."
His tone is flat, still lighthearted, but warning this time. You open your mouth to protest, but think better of it and shut your lips.
The walk back to the car is quiet, deafeningly so. You still walk by Aventurine's side, but now, there's a considerable distance between you two.
Aventurine's fingers twitch, and for a moment, he almost reaches towards you, only to catch himself and reign his hand back to his side. Closing his eyes, he takes a deep breath and calms himself.
Yes, this is how it should be, he thinks to himself as he enters the car. He leans on the door and gazes outside at the nightclub, still raving despite it all.
An escape, a distraction, that was what he sought out most. But it couldn't come from you.
He'd rather die before he'd let that happen.

How to Make a Money Spell Jar
By Penelope Hughes
What is a Money Spell Jar
A money spell jar attracts wealth by combining herbs and crystals with magickal attributes of wealth, luck, and prosperity.
It is common to use candle wax and a sigil with a money spell jar to increase the spell jar's likelihood of success.
When it comes to money spells, it is trendy for someone to use manifestation techniques, which usually use the power of your mind to will money into your life through various means.
A money spell jar is different because you can put the spell jar together, and the magick will work passively in the background.
When Should I Use a Money Spell Jar
The obvious answer would be to use a money spell jar whenever you need money. But you do not need only to use money spell jars when you're short on rent for the month.
Money spell jars can be used for many different situations, and these situations do not always need to be dire or fueled by greed.
Let's say you were planning on going to the casino with your friends this coming weekend. Before going to the casino would be a fantastic opportunity to make a money spell jar.
You could also use a money spell jar for a promotion at work or a new job. If you wanted to increase the chance of getting that promotion or landing that new job, you could do that by making a money spell jar.
An out-of-the-box example would be if you had some event where you expected to be gifted money like an upcoming wedding. You could make a money spell jar to increase the amount of money you would receive.
Baby Witch Tip:
You will still need to put the work in for the spell jar to work its magick.
Consider the example I used for landing a new job that paid more. If you were in that situation, don't just make a money spell jar and expect everything will work out.
The spell jar will increase your chances of landing that new job. But you would still need to take everything seriously, like practicing for the interview, being on time, and making sure your resume looks great.
How Long does it Take for a Money Spell to Work
I cannot remember when I used a money spell jar without a specific situation in mind. I will usually make a money spell jar within 7 to 10 days before the event occurs that I need the money spell jar for.
I am generally pleased with the results of my money spell jars, but not everyone has worked. A few have been duds, and I'm not sure if I had made the spell jar earlier if that would have made a difference or not. The energy working against me in those situations may have been too much for me to overcome.
If you are using a money spell jar out of desperation and need it to work instantly, unfortunately, that's not how spell jars work. This type of magick takes time to work.
If you have made the spell jar and have been actively working towards your goal, you should soon see the tides turn in your favor. How long will that take? I cannot tell you an exact time, but it should take a week or two for things to start happening from my experience.
Which Herbs and Crystals Should I use for a Money Spell Jar
When it comes to putting together a spell jar, one of the essential factors is picking the right ingredients for your intentions.
I like to select herbs and crystals that have magickal associations with wealth, luck, and prosperity.
Below is a list of herbs and crystals that I recommend that you consider for use if you plan to make a money spell jar.
Herbs and their magickal attributes related to a money spell jar:
Mint: Attracts money and success
Almond: Attracts money
Ash: Used for prosperity
Basil: Used for luck
Cinnamon: Attracts money
Comfrey: Used for prosperity
Ginger: Used to attract money
Jasmine: Used for prosperity
Marjoram: Used to attract money
Nutmeg: Used for luck
Parsley: Used for prosperity
Another herb to consider is dried chamomile flowers. They are used to help with bad luck.
Crystals and their magical attributes related to money spell jars:
Aventurine: Used for prosperity and luck
Carnelia: Used for success and manifestation
Jade: Used for prosperity
Tiger's eye: Used for luck and prosperity
Copper: Used for good luck
Goldstone: Used for fortune and luck
Blue apatite: Used for success
Ruby: Used for success and to attract wealth
Another crystal to consider is smoky quartz. It is used for manifestation and helps turn goals into reality.
Should I add a Sigil to my Spell Jar
If you know how to make a sigil, I highly recommend adding a sigil to your spell jars. Sigils will increase the likely hood of the spell succeeding.
When it comes to adding a sigil to a spell jar, I like to draw it on the bottom of the jar's lid. That way, the sigil is hidden away out of sight.
If you would like to learn how to make a sigil, give this post a read (How to Make a Sigil)
How to Make a Money Spell Jar
You will need the following items to make a money spell jar.
You will need one green candle and something to light the candle.
A sealable glass jar (I like mason jars, you can use whatever you prefer)
You will need to select five herbs from the list above that meet your intentions. ( I would choose mint, basil, cinnamon, ginger, and jasmine.)
You will need two types of crystals from the list above in the form of chips. (I would choose jade and aventurine crystal chips.)
How much of each ingredient you need will be up to you to determine because you can use whatever sized container you would like.
Once you have gathered all of the ingredients, you can begin making your money spell jar.
The first thing I would start with would be to make a sigil. A sigil is not required for a money spell jar.
Next, start layering your spell jar by putting one layer of ingredients down then putting the next layer of ingredients down. I prefer to make everything kind of even, but that's not a requirement.
I will usually start by putting a layer of crystals down, then two or three herbs, then the other layer of crystals, and finally the last layer of herbs.
While you are layering the spell jar with your herbs and crystal chips, say the following incantation:
"Money and riches abound,
Fill my pockets as you find your way,
Banish my debt and harm none,
Money, money come to me."
Now you will want to seal the jar and light the candle. (If you are adding a sigil, make sure to draw it before sealing the jar)
Let the candle burn for a little while. A few minutes should do. While the candle is burning, you should meditate.
While you are meditating, imagine that an abundance of money is on its way to you. Focus on your intention until you have cleared all of your thoughts besides your goal. Let your intention build in you as if it was a ball of energy.
Now take the candle and pour some of the wax onto the lid, sealing the container closed. While you are pouring the wax, say the following incantation:
"Money, wealth, riches abound,
Find your way to me safe and sound,
Fill my pockets and wallet full,
As I said it, so mote it be."
Once you have finished saying the incantation take a deep breath and then let it out, releasing the ball of energy you had built up into the money spell jar.
The money spell jar is complete. You can put the spell jar somewhere in your house. I usually place it in my study as that is where I handle my finances.

may i please request sampo (you choose the other characters) with a dog hybrid gender neutral reader? in the sampo one, can the reader fall asleep on top of him in dog fashion?
Lay Your Head, Rest Your Heart
Tags: Sampo x Reader, Aventurine x Reader, Dog Hybrid!Reader, Fluff, Found Family, Light Humor, Comfort, Slow-Burn Romance, Protective (?).
Warnings: Minor gambling references (Aventurine's part), Slight teasing and playful banter, Fluffy physical affection (ear ruffling, head pats, cuddling)
Sampo strolled through the bustling marketplace, his jacket fluttering with every smooth stride. His eyes gleamed with mischief, darting from stall to stall, calculating potential profits. Business was good, but it got even better when he had an adorable partner in crime—or, rather, a partner in occasional chaos. That partner was you, a loyal, dog hybrid who, despite your wagging tail and puppy-like energy, often brought him a surprising amount of good fortune.
“Sampo! Look at this!” you barked excitedly, holding up a shiny trinket you’d found at a nearby stall.
Sampo chuckled, running a gloved hand through his hair. “Nice find, pup. But remember, the best treasures aren’t the ones you buy—they’re the ones you ‘acquire.’” He winked, leaning down to ruffle your ears.
You scrunched your nose but didn’t argue. He had a point. Sampo always knew how to turn a simple situation into something profitable—or at least amusing.
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple. The marketplace had begun to quiet down, but the day’s adventures left you utterly exhausted. You let out a long yawn, your tail wagging lazily behind you.
Sampo glanced over, smirking. “Tired already? You’re supposed to be the energetic one!”
“Shut up.” you muttered, plopping down on a soft patch of grass.
Sampo joined you, leaning back on his elbows. “I’ve got to admit, you make the day a lot more interesting. Not every merchant can say their partner chased off a Silvermane Guard by barking at them like a mad pup.”
You grinned, your sharp teeth glinting in the fading light. “It worked, didn’t it?”
Before Sampo could reply, you crawled over and flopped onto him, your head resting against his chest. He froze, blinking in surprise.
“Uh…not that I mind, but what’s this about?” he asked, though his voice was softer than usual.
“Comfy...” you murmured, nuzzling into his jacket. Your ears twitched slightly, and your tail wagged a couple of times before going still.
Sampo sighed, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Of course you’d use me as a pillow. What else am I good for, huh?”
Despite his teasing tone, he didn’t move. If anything, he adjusted his position to make sure you were comfortable, even if it meant lying awkwardly on the uneven ground.
As you drifted off, Sampo stared up at the starry sky, the usual glint of mischief in his mint-green eyes replaced with something softer. He reached out with a gloved hand, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face.
“You’re a weird one, you know that?” he whispered, though there was no malice in his tone—just quiet affection. “Not many people trust ol’ Sampo enough to sleep on me. Guess you’re either braver or crazier than the rest.”
The gentle rhythm of your breathing was his only response.
For once, Sampo didn’t think about profits or schemes. He simply lay there, enjoying the warmth of your presence and the rare tranquility that came with it.
“Guess I’ll let you off the hook this time,” he murmured, closing his eyes with a faint smile. “But don’t expect me to make this a habit, pup.”
Yet, even as he said it, he knew he wouldn’t mind if you did.
Aventurine adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, their rose-tinted lenses catching the low light of the casino floor. The clinking of chips and the whirring of roulette wheels filled the air, but none of it distracted him. With a flourish, he placed his final bet on the roulette table, the corner of his mouth lifting in his signature confident smirk.
"Let’s make this one count." he murmured, leaning back as the wheel spun.
Beside him, you—his ever-loyal dog hybrid companion—sat cross-legged on a velvet bench, your tail wagging idly as you observed the chaos of the casino.
“Do you ever get tired of this?” you asked, your ears perking up as someone cheered in the distance.
Aventurine chuckled, turning his gaze towards you. “Tired? Of course not. The thrill of the gamble is what keeps life interesting, darling.”
You rolled your eyes but smiled nonetheless. “You and your dramatic flair.”
“Flair is what makes me charming.” he countered, his voice dripping with amusement.
As the roulette wheel slowed, the ball clicked into place. A chorus of gasps rippled through the table as Aventurine’s number came up. He leaned forward with a mock gasp of his own, gathering the chips with practiced ease.
“Would you look at that? Lady Luck smiles upon me once again.” he said, sending you a wink.
You shook your head, unable to hide your grin. “You’re unbelievable.”
The casino emptied as the night wore on, leaving the two of you to wander back to Aventurine’s suite. It was as extravagant as one would expect from someone like him—gold accents, plush furniture, and a panoramic view of the glittering cityscape below.
You flopped onto the oversized couch, your tail thumping softly against the cushions. “I’m exhausted. How do you have so much energy after all that?”
Aventurine removed his choker, draping his coat over a nearby chair. “It’s all about pacing yourself. Though, if you’re tired, I suppose we could call it an early night.”
“Early? It’s nearly morning!” you teased, stretching out with a yawn.
He chuckled, grabbing a blanket from a nearby cabinet. “Fair enough.”
You watched as he settled into an armchair, his glasses perched on the edge of his nose as he sorted through the chips he’d won earlier. The sound of them clicking together was oddly soothing, lulling you into a sense of calm.
Before long, you found yourself sliding off the couch and padding over to him. Without a word, you curled up on his lap, your head resting against his chest.
Aventurine stiffened for a moment, caught off guard. “Comfortable, are we?” he asked, his tone a mix of amusement and fondness.
“Very...” you murmured, already half-asleep.
He sighed, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he draped the blanket over you both. His fingers absently brushed through your hair, his usual bravado replaced with quiet contentment.
“For someone who claims I’m ‘unbelievable,’ you seem to trust me an awful lot.” he mused, his voice low.
You didn’t respond, your breathing slow and steady as sleep claimed you.
Aventurine leaned back in his chair, his eyes softening as he gazed down at you. In all his years of gambling, scheming, and taking risks, he’d never expected to find someone who made him feel this… grounded.
“Not bad for a gambler’s companion...” he whispered, the usual sharpness in his voice replaced by something gentler.
The roulette of life kept spinning, but for now, he was content to stay right where he was—at least until morning.

Hello! Could I request Aventurine with a musician and singer reader? I'm just imagining them singing to him while he rests.
ᴀᴠᴇɴᴛᴜʀɪɴᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴀ ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄɪᴀɴ & ꜱɪɴɢᴇʀ! ꜱ/ᴏ
pairings - aventurine x musician and singer! reader
content - a couple headcanons before the small oneshot at the end, pre-relationship to established relationship, mainly fluff but there is some angst i sprinkled in, aventurine having nightmares about his past/trauma, reader comforting him to sleep, gender-neutral reader, comfort fic (?) for aventurine lol
warnings - none, besides some slight angst
⋘ ʟᴏᴀᴅɪɴɢ... ⋙
↻ Aventurine’s first encounter with you would be an event that is taking place in a casino that he frequents
↺ You know how bars have those karaoke nights where people can come up and sing? Something like that
↻ When he first saw you performing, he could recognize some of the songs that he overheard from his subordinates and coworkers
↺ They seemed to be fangirling over whoever the singer was, gushing about their appearance and music to each other before noticing Aventurine and skittering off to their work
↺ He didn’t question what they were listening to, returning back to whatever he was doing in the first place
↻ When you started singing on stage, he was enamored with your voice, the lighting of the casino complimenting your looks and making you appear ethereal
↺ Aventurine couldn’t focus on his gambles for the rest of the night and days to come, distracted by your performances
↻ He started going to the casino on days that you were performing, making sure to get a seat near you to be able to have a closer look
↻ Aventurine often times finds himself daydreaming, lost in the movements of your hands as they played to the tune of your voice
↺ He was lovestruck, but he would never admit that to anyone, maybe not even you…
↻ Unbeknownst to Aventurine, you had noticed his frequent appearances during your appearances and were delighted to have someone of his position enjoy your performances
↺ You’d catch his lingering gazes, the flustered look on his face when he caught himself staring for too long, his stuttered movements when he returned to whoever he was milking money from
↺ You decided to wait a little longer, wanting to see just how long it would take for Aventurine to make his move before you do
↻ Honestly, you would have never guessed that you’d bump into Aventurine after one of your performances, spotting him waiting near the back entrance to where you had some of your equipment stored (it seems you needn’t wait longer for your encounter with him)
↺ He was the first to approach you, clapping his hands and giving you a sly smile
↺ “What a performance. You always know how to put on a show.”
↻ From there on, he’d catch you after you had finished your act for the night, striking up a conversation that could last for hours
↺ You’d end up sitting by the bar with him, talking and laughing the night away as the two of you grew closer and learned more about each other
↺ It wasn’t long until Aventurine asked you out to dinner, a much more romantic setting compared to late-night bar trips
↻ Aventurine, despite his cunning attitude and sly looks, had a much softer and clingier side to him, you discovered further down the line
↻ When the two of you started sharing the same bed, cuddling and holding the other close, you learned of the frequent nightmares he often experienced
↺ He hated to admit it, in fact, he never wanted you to find out about the nightmares he faced each night
↺ Those unforgiving and relentless nightmares that opened wounds of the past, were never meant to be shown to you but alas, it was only a matter of time before you found out
-----
It was another night that Aventurine had grown accustomed to. Those unforgiving nights when his past had come back to haunt him in the form of nightmares, in which he woke up in a cold sweat and felt his heart beating out of his chest. Invisible hands seemed to tighten around his throat, the fading heat on that damned mark on his neck lingering for a second too long. It almost made him want to scream and cry, but he didn’t. He couldn’t.
Not when you were lying peacefully beside him.
The steady rise and fall of your chest, your incoherent mumbles, and your body heat reassured him that you were there and that you wouldn’t leave his side anytime soon. Yet the shackles of his past still persisted, dragging him into the depths of his own loneliness and despair.
Aventurine had quietly shuffled off the bed, sitting on the edge while feeling the cool night air filter through the window. He glanced over at a nearby clock and found it to be 1:24 AM, nowhere near daybreak. His shaky hands ran through his hair, eyes shut closed as he tried to stabilize his breathing.
To his dismay, he felt you move in your sleep, a groggy voice calling out to him from behind.
“…Aventurine..? Are you okay?”
Aventurine reluctantly looked over his shoulder, plastering that same smile he gave you when the two of you first met.
“Of course, I just needed to use the bathroom.” He lied, yet he knew that you would see through him as you always did. That was the most damning part about you, your ability to read people’s emotions despite any obstacles.
“…Aventurine, did you have another nightmare?” He heard you speak, your figure moving to sit beside him. He felt your hand gently touch his shoulder, moving to rub comforting circles on his shoulder blades. Aventurine relaxed at your touch.
“I—..sigh… Yes..I did.” Aventurine admitted, his gaze never meeting your own. “It’s the same damn nightmare, nothing special…”
When his body turned to face yours, you saw the dark circles that began to form from the countless nights he found himself having trouble falling asleep. Your face softened at his disheveled appearance, hands moving to cup his face which he leaned into.
“Oh Aven, you can always tell me when something is bothering you but I’ll never pressure you.” You hummed, fixing his loose strands of hair. “I’ll never leave you to face your troubles alone.”
Aventurine could feel his eyes start to water, but he blinked them away, turning his face to kiss the palm of your hand.
“Thank you, my love.”
“Of course.”
There was a brief silence between the both of you but it wasn’t an awkward one. You had moved to let Aventurine lay down, spooning him in your arms which held him close and played with his hair. Although he’d complain about being the little spoon, he would always sink further into your embrace despite his protests. This time, however, he didn’t say a word.
Aventurine could hear you start to hum a small song, one which he recognized as the song you first performed at the casino. It was a slow and comforting one. Its tunes melted away his previous stress and allowed him to grow lax in your arms.
Your humming combined with the faint sound of your beating heart slowly lulled him to sleep. His eyes started to grow heavy and his breathing had evened. The light strokes of his hair had him leaning towards your touch.
Aventurine could feel himself slipping into the realm of dreams, which would now be filled with scenarios of you.
At last, his eyes have closed and your humming never ceased, following him into his slumber.
“My thoughts will follow you into your dreams and soothe your worries. Rest well, my dear.”
