"Luna’s manners were Victorian. She spoke like a war widow, and carried herself like a debutante from the 20s. She dressed entirely in flowing white linen dresses and decaying straw bonnets of uncertain provenance. Her main pastimes were lace-making and bareback trips to the creek on a horse that just showed up one day. She coaxed the animal into passivity with the help of my third cousin Bob, who’s stuck in the stable after being kicked to death by a pissed off mare in like 1860. They have other horses, mind you, it’s a working farm and they use them for muster. She got a pony at three. But when a radiantly white stallion shows up screaming at three in the morning, clearly, that’s the horse for Luna.
She was a fucking weird kid, is what I’m getting at. I loved her completely."
We don't talk about Luna, except when we do. Amber mows the lawn, white knuckle grip, with the past dangerously close to colliding with the future. Like everything in Amber's world, sometimes the key to moving forwards lies in the past. It's possible to be haunted in more ways than one.
Content warning: Mentions of death, smoking and foul language (less than usual, truth be told), crap policing, summer yard work, getting grounded when you done nothing wrong.

Anybody else think that the Noldor in the First Age have a saying similar to our running joke about "everything in Australia wants to kill you", except it's everything in Beleriand wants to kill you?

Get Some Exciting Exercise to Improve Your Physical Well-Being
Like a lot of other pastimes, Australian fishing boats require a lot of physical exertion. Taking part in this healthy pastime is a terrific way to obtain exercise and may help you remain in shape.
You see, you're not only increasing your endurance when you tow a boat to your preferred fishing location or ride around on a powerboat across the sea. As the physical exertion becomes more familiar to your body, your heart rate will rise. Engaging in cardiovascular exercise may help you retain a more nutritious way of life and is an excellent method to keep your body in shape.
The water will always provide something to do for you, regardless of your preference for fast-paced, exhilarating experiences like water sports and high-speed excursions or leisurely pursuits like fishing and leisurely drifts through interior water bodies.
The Effects Boating Can Have on Your Health
It's simple to overlook your emotional and physical health when you're living a hectic life. You may believe that you don't have enough time for good self-care since you're always on the move. On the other hand, engaging in a passion like boating might help you feel more connected to who you are.
It's simple to understand how boating might develop into a beloved lifetime pastime, therefore it's important to think about the health advantages of incorporating this activity into your life.

New York
Artist: Peter Purves Smith (Australian, 1912-1949)
Date: circa 1936
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Collection: Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney, Australia
Description
After a brief period as a cadet midshipman, then a stint as a jackaroo in remote NSW, Peter Purves Smith began his formal art studies while on an extended trip to Europe, under Iain Macnab at London’s Grosvenor School of Modern Art.
Surrealism was making its mark across Europe during this period, and shortly before his return to Australia in 1936, Purves Smith studied work by its leading practitioners shown in two major exhibitions held in London and New York that year.
'New York', with its organic anthropomorphic forms tilting out of control, displays affinities with the paintings of Salvador Dali, as well as with the cityscapes of New York’s Ash Can artists Edward Hopper and George Bellows. The painting was among the first in Australian art to adopt surrealism’s vocabulary, and predates his contemporaries James Gleeson and Albert Tucker by several years.
