Happy birthday! Can we get some birthday trivia about you on your birthday?

Sure. I turn 56 today, so here’s fifty-six things you may or may not know about me.

1) I never lost a baby tooth. Every one had to be extracted.

2) I was once a contestant on Trivial Pursuit: The Game Show with Wink Martindale. I answered the most questions correct, but didn’t win.

3) I once had scarlet fever (the thing the boy gets in the Velveteen Rabbit).

4) I’ve been told by doctors I have very weird blood.

5) I self taught myself to juggle.

6) I was a magician when I was a kid with the stage name The Wiz Kid. I mostly performed for kids parties.

7) I was once a freelance greeting card writer. My favorite (that didn’t get printed) showed a jug of maple syrup tipped on its side making a puddle of syrup. In the syrup was a top hat. A hand is pulling a can of green paint with a shamrock out of the hat. You open up the card and it says Sappy Paint Hat Tricks Day. It’s a triple Spoonerism.

8) Sara Gilbert (of “Roseanne” fame) and I once went out for lunch. (It wasn’t a date or anything.)

9) I broke my collarbone doing a prat fall off a stage.

10) I once pet a cheetah. In South Africa. My face from the picture of me doing that was used as my “Making Magic” photo for years.

11) I once made a root beer float for Keanu Reeves. It was at a play I was volunteering for.

12) I once get trapped inside Fred Astaire’s Estate. This factoid is oddly on my Wikipedia page.

13) Starting during the pandemic, my family began fostering animals. So far, we fostered four dogs, six cats, and two Guinea pigs.

14) In college, I wrote and directed two plays, started an improvisation troupe, and a writing workshop.

15) I still have all my wisdom teeth.

16) I have visited every continent except Antarctica for Magic.

17) I once asked Clint Eastwood for directions, not realizing who it was until he started talking. I was lost on the Warner Brothers lot.

18) My first job in Hollywood resulted from me taking part in someone else’s interview. I snuck on the lot, and ended walking into a room where they asked “Are you here for the production assistant interview?”, and I said, “Yes.”

19) I once had a disease the doctors couldn’t identify. They called it Mark’s Disease.

20) I was born in Mississippi. My dad was in the Air Force at the time.

21) I asked out seven woman to my senior prom who all turned me down. I ended up going with a friend who also couldn’t get a date.

22) I took six years of Spanish.

23) Most of my family’s vacations growing up were ski vacations, so I’m a decent skier.

24) I once delivered a pizza to Richard Gere. It was as a production assistant, not a pizza delivery person.

25) I once broke into an actor’s apartment building to deliver a script. It was so late, they were asleep and didn’t hear the buzzing of the door bell.

26) I once drove six hours (three in each direction) to pick up one five-stick package of Blackjack gum as a runner (production assistant).

27) Dennis Miller once thought I was a crazy man. I was sent to get him from the parking lot for a shoot and he thought I was stalking him.

28) I have over two hundred tee-shirts. They are organized by color.

29) I was supposed to pitch to “The Simpsons”, but it got cancelled when I got hired in the “Roseanne” staff.

30) I pitched multiple times to “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, but never sold a script. The closest I got was a pitch about Data malfunctioning.

31) I once ate crocodile. In Australia.

32) I played the Tinman in fifth grade in a production of “The Wizard of the Oz”. I was so hot, my silver make-up had to be reapplied halfway through as I sweated it off.

33) My mother turned down being on “Oprah” to come to my college graduation.

34) My parents are both retired. My dad was a dentist and my mom a psychologist. I used to joke I had a “paradox”.

35) Every birthday since I was 9, I’ve celebrated my birthday with crab legs.

36) Since I was in grade school, every Valentine’s Day, I hand out candy hearts, and every Halloween, I hand out mellowcreme pumpkins (basically pumpkin shaped candy corns).

37) My tee-shirts every week are themed. Some themes are pretty obvious, but they often get tricky. R&D likes figuring out the theme.

38) I got a BS in Communications (no, really) from Boston University’s College of Communications.

39) I collect superhero Minimates (they look Lego-ish). I have somewhere around two thousand. They are displayed in a number of cabinets built by my dad.

40) My podcast was inspired by a talk by Kevin Smith (at San Diego Comic-Con) where he said anyone could make a podcast.

41) I have attended over twenty-five San Diego Comic-Cons.

42) I am related to Lorne Green of “Bonanza” fame.

43) My dad’s family came from Germany and my mom’s from Russia. In Germany, my family’s name was Rosenvasser, but it was changed to Rosewater when they came to the U.S.

44) There are so few Rosewaters in the United States, that if you meet a Rosewater odds are I’m related to them.

45) I have lived in five states (Mississippi, Ohio, Massachusetts, California, and Washington, in that order).

46) I have visited over thirty states for Magic.

47) I once met Jim Henson when I worked on a clip show that Kermit was on. The question I asked him was if Ernie and Bert were named after the characters from “It’s a Wonderful Life”. He said not consciously. Jim Henson is one of my idols and I feel so blessed to have met him. He died a few months later.

48) I met Stan Lee at Hascon. He is another of my idols that I feel so lucky to have met.

49) On “Roseanne”, I worked with Amy Sherman-Palladino (just Amy Sherman back then) and Chuck Lorre. She made “Gilmore Girls” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”. He made “Big Bang Theory” and “Two and a Half Men”. Amy was super sweet and we got along well. I don’t think Chuck liked me.

50) I am a super picky eater. For example, except for apples, I don’t eat fruit. I hate bananas with a passion.

51) I have been a game player since very young. My dad loves games and introduced them to me early in life.

52) I get the writing bug from my mom.

53) I used to collect lint in a giant jar. When I got married, Lora made me get rid of it. It was an impressive amount of lint.

54) I have a bad tendency to burn myself a lot. My family loves to make fun of it.

55) I own over fifty flannels. My favorites are from Japan because they are more colorful with their flannels. Normally I wear a large, but in Japanese sizes, I’m an extra large.

56) My favorite number is 254. I chose it when I was little.

Norway, a member of NATO, is the third country to donate F-16 fighters to Ukraine

NATO member Norway will donate F-16 fighters to Ukraine, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said on Thursday amid Kiev's difficult counter-offensive against Russia.

Speaking to the Norwegian news agency NTB in Kiev, where he paid a visit on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, Gahr Store said that Norway will supply F-16 aircraft to Ukraine, but it will probably be less than 10.

Gahr said he informed the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, about the donation of the aircraft and that Norway would discuss the number of planes, as well as the transfer schedule with Kiev and other allied countries.

“But Ukraine can count on the contribution of Norway,” the prime minister added.

Norway would be the third European country, after the Netherlands and Denmark, to donate F-16 planes.

Ukraine has long asked sophisticated fighters to give it an advantage in combat. He recently launched a long-awaited counter-offensive against Kremlin forces without air cover, putting his troops at the mercy of Russian aviation and artillery.

In February, oil-rich Norway announced that it would donate 75 billion crowns ($7 billion) to Kiev as part of a five-year support package, making Norway one of the world's largest donors to Ukraine.

The money will be divided equally between military and humanitarian assistance over five years, divided into 15 billion crowns (1.4 billion dollars) annually.

Gahr Store announced on Thursday that Norway would also donate anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, saying that “air defense is critical to Ukraine's ability to protect both the civilian population and frontline infrastructure and military units against any type of Russian air attack.”

“This is one of the largest Norwegian donations of military material to Ukraine to date,” Gahr said in a statement.

The Norwegian government has long stated that it is considering sending F-16 to Ukraine. In January, Norway received the first of the 52 F-35s ordered. The new fighters will replace Norway's F-16 fleet.

Last week, the Netherlands and Denmark announced that they will donate F-16 aircraft. Denmark said it will provide 19 planes, while the Netherlands reported that it will donate 42 of the jets.

Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited several European countries, including the Netherlands and Denmark, but did not go to Norway.

Also revealed in Drive to Survive, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner told driver Kevin Magnussen the Australian was well out of their price range. 'He (Ricciardo) wants ten f***ing million (dollars),' Steiner stated bluntly. Ricciardo will earn a staggering amount of money in 2023 despite not getting a race seat. His combined package from Red Bull and the contracted money owing from McLaren was reportedly $24million. Instead of signing Ricciardo, Haas secured experienced driver Nico Hulkenberg to fill the seat vacated by Mick Schumacher. The 2023 F1 season begins with the first race in Bahrain on March 5. I reread this and have no idea where they were supposed to be driving from. And I realize that it's servo in Australia. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Part 1

Calum's p.o.v:

We we're finally on vacation after a month of nonstop events. The boys and I decided that Michael and Ashton would go visit Ash's family while Luke and I visit his. Then it would be switched.

We were about an hour into the eight and a half hour drive. We had been singing, joking, listening to music, and playing random games we often played on road trips. We we're genuinely enjoying each others company. I started to get a dull ache behind my eyes. I slowly became quieter and quieter as the pain in my head increased. Luke glanced over to me. "You alright Cal? You're getting a bit quiet over there." I nodded slowly. I was starting to get tired for some reason.

"Ya. I'm fine. I'm a bit tired though, would you have any objections to me taking a nap?" He shook his head with a worried frown plastered on his face.

"You sure you're ok? You look like you're in some pain. I could pull over once I see a gas station or rest stop if you'd like." I nodded to the first question then shook my head and he focused back on the road. I leaned the seat back a bit and leaned my head against the window and tried to sleep.

No matter how tired I was and no matter how long I sat there, I couldn't fall asleep. The pain behind my eyes was spreading throughout my head and now I also felt a lot of pressure. I slowly opened my eyes only to close them as a surge of pain shot through my head. I rushed my hand over my eyes with a grunt causing Luke to look at me with wide eyes. "Cal please. Just tell me what's wrong." He begged.

"I'm fine Luke, I just can't sleep and it's aggitating me." I lied and I instantly felt guilty, but we have all been planning this trip for a while and I didn't want to ruin it. "This is going to seem like an odd request, but can we pull over for a minute so I can lay down in the back? I might be able to get more comfortable and get some shut eye."

"Of course. That isn't an odd request Calum." He quickly pulled over letting get out and situatated in the back seat before taking off again. He shugged off his jacket and bundled it up handing it to me for a pillow and thanked him. "Try to get some sleep. We still have about five and a half hours left to go buddy."

"Ok thank you." I closed my eyes and finally dozed off.

Luke's p.o.v:

Once I heard him snoring I had loads of mixed feelings. I was thankfull he was finally getting the rest he needed, but I was immensely concerned. He could be dead tired and he would refuse to go to sleep. I knew that the only time Calum takes a nap is if he is sick.

I turned the radio on low to keep myself occupied as I was driving. I was feeling a bit tired as well but since we still had a long ways to go I had to stay awake. I was also super excited to see my family, though more than likely they will be asleep by the time we get there.

I drove for two more hours and had to use the restroom so I stopped at a gas station. I used the restroom and I grabbed a couple snacks, some drinks and a package of popcorn so Calum and I could watch a movie or two when we got to my house. I walked back out to the car and noticed Cal stirring.

"Hey bud, how you feeling?" I asked as I got into the car. I set the bag on the passenger seat.

"I have to pee..." I couldn't help but laugh at the statement. He didn't answer my question, but I didn't push the topic.

"I stopped at a gas station so you can go before we head back on the road." He got out of the car and jogged inside and I watched him as he walked through the doors with a slight grimace.

Calum's p.o.v:

I wasn't lying to Luke when I said I had to pee. I wanted to kill two birds with one stone and buy some advil for my head. My head was hurting before taking the nap, but now it felt like someone had taken a jackhammer to it. I went to the bathroom and bought some advil and a sprite. My headache was starting to become a migraine, which I don't get all too often, but when I do it's bad. I quickly took the medicine before beading back out to the car.

"I got some drinks and snacks. You didn't have to buy the sprite dude." He chuckled and started the car and backed out of the lot of the gas station and onto the highway.

"Oh, I didn't know." Once again lying to him. "How much longer do we have until we get to your place?"

"Around three hours. I bought some popcorn. I was thinking we could watch a movie, since we are going to be the only ones up by the time we get there." I looked at the time realizing he was, no doubt, right. It was just past midnight.

"Ya, sure, that's fine." I smiled at him and turned the radio up a bit. The last thing I wanted was for him to get suspicious again. He looked at me and smiled before turning his attention back to the road. We talked the rest of the way to his house, while I tried my hardest to ignore the pounding in my head.

Once we pulled into his driveway I was relieved. The advil did nothing to relieve the pain in my head. Once we got inside I sat on the couch and he walked over to the DVDs. "What movie would you like to watch Cal." Luke whispered. I shrugged. In all honestly I didn't want to watch a movie. All I wanted to do was curl in a ball and sleep the pain away. "How about we watch Monsters Inc. I know you totally hate that movie." He whisper shouted with a wink. I nodded quickly with a smile, ignoring the way it caused my vision to blur and the pain to increase drastically.

"Do not! I love that movie!" I shouted. I covered my mouth with my hand and my eyes widened. "Whoops..." Luke laughed and stood up. He put the DVD in and went into the kitchen to make the popcorn. He sat down on the couch, placing the giant bowl of popcorn between us and started the movie.

Around half way through the movie the pain in my head was so bad. I was getting dizzy and I couldn't focus on the movie anymore. I went to take another bite of the popcorn when I suddenly felt an intense wave of nausea. I quickly shot up from the couch and ran to the bathroom. "Calum!" Luke voiced, placing the bowl into the coffee table and followed me into the bathroom as I stopped in front of the sink trying to collect myself. "Cal, are you ok?" He cautiously took a step forward and put a hand on my shoulder. I couldn't answer though. I put one hand up to my head and gripped the sink tightly with the other as another was of pain and nausea coursed through me. I turned in the tap and watched the water swirl down the drain, focusing on breathing. Watching the water was not helping my dizziness and my migraine amped up a notch, causing my stomach to flip. I suddenly lunged forward with a violent gag.

"Close *gag* the door." I said hovering above the sink, knowing what was about to happen. Luke walked in quickly shutting the door behind him.

Just as he closed the door, I was sent forward once again with a strong wretch. I spit into the bowl thankful that I turned the tap on as it it was quickly washed away. Luke rubbed up and down my shoulder blades as I was struck by another fruitless gag, that only succeeded in causing me more intense pain. I wretched again as my stomach lurched. "Get it up bud. You're doing great." I heaved bringing up only bile... We had eatten a large lunch so I shouldn't be having this much trouble throwing up, although it was many hours ago. I suppose that could be it.

"Turn the *gag* light off..." I whimpered, clamping my eyes shut, still clutching my head in one hand. I looked up into the mirror for a second and saw Luke looking at me funny. "Why *wretch* are you looking at me like *gag* that?" He knew now that I had a migraine.

He flipped the switchwrapped an arm around my stomach and applied very slight pressure. "Can I?" I nodded. He must have seen me, because the next thing I knew I felt pressure on my stomach and shot forward with a dry heave.

My legs began to shake violently trying to hold my own weight. Luke pressed hard on my stomach and my stomach finally decided it had put me through enough torture. I projectile vomited into the basin below me coating the sides with the disgusting substance. "There you go. Any better?" I shook my head.

"If anything I feel much worse." I leaned forward and propped my elbows on the counter, resting my head in my hands, still hovering above the sink, nauseous as hell. I heaved as I felt bile rush us my throat and vomit splattered into it coating the sides with even more sick.

My vision blurred and I suddenly got extremely dizzy. I fell into Luke causing him to go crashing into the wall. Luke and I both hit the floor and I heaved stomach acid and half digested food onto the small rug beneath our feet. Luke scrambled and raised the lid of the toilet quickly helping me over it just as more of my lunch are a reappearance. Just then, even over my heaving we heard a knock on the door. Luke looked down at me. "Is it ok if I just tell them to come in?" I nodded and quickly shut my eyes fighting the tears that threatened to spill over. Instead of yelling Luke got up and opened the door.

Luke's p.o.v:

"Holy shit! Is he ok?" Jack asked kind of yelling. "I heard a bang. What happened and why is the light off?" He reached up and turned on the light causing him to shriek and clutch his head yet again. "Fucking hell... I'm so sorry Calum... I didn't know..." He looked down and noticed the sink and the floor and sighed sadly.

"He has a migraine, a bad one at that. It's normal for him to get sick during one of these but not this much... And the he fell into me after vomiting into the sink for like half an hour. I fell as well, but neither one of us got hurt." Jack nodded and his brotherly instincts kicked in.

"Luke grab him a wet rag and have him put it over his eyes. I'm going to need the light..." He said looking at the sink and floor once more.

I quickly srung into action going I to the kitchen and wetting a rag. I walked back into the bathroom and dashed back over to Calum. "Here buddy hold this over your eyes.
