#Attack on Titan Bloopers

Hellllooooo again, my beauties. I had returned as promise with the promised poll. If you have seen my earlier post yet, click here.

Or for the short version, was unwell for the past couple of month, better now. In between that time SD card got corrupted so when restoring and backing up my stuff to cloud, some old stuff emerged and it's Attack on Titan related back from when I was in high school when the Season One (1) just started. While I am working in finishing the TotK stuff first, you guys can vote what you want to see first from the AoT stuff. Please be aware that I'll be editing for grammar and add in some additional stuff now that the series is over, mainly to the fic.

So, here's what to vote for. I'll put a short description to them and number it. Let's goooo!!

One (1) - 'Bloopers.' So this was before finding out recently what Actor AU was. Back in High School, when Season One (1) released, a friend and I had these funny scenarios that would happen through our the series. Hence why we called it 'Bloopers.' Even now, I still think of some stuff that would be funny. So I can do a whole post based on each season, so that'll be four (4) loooonnnggg posts but worth it. 😂🤣

Two (2) - A fanfic focused on Pieck and Gabi. I didn't hate Gabi, I understand how it happened the way it happened. I believe Sasha would have forgiven her just like her family did. Anyway, I had a fic that explains how they became close friends. I think I had this where she knows Pieck already, but only as the human and not the Titan. It's set during the Honorary Marleyan's early days of being in battle and Porco has been the Jaw Titan for a while now. But I had Annie be able to return home too and not crystallized. Then a battle goes terribly wrong and Big Sister Pieck has to rescue her. Needs a bit of fixing up looking at it but I can make it work.

Three (3) - Fanfic. This is chapter to chapter. The current Marley Shifters spend time at the Marley Warriors School. Noone is honorary yet so there's more kids in this story. Each Shifter from Marley learn from the Shifters about the purpose of each Titan, how to defend themselves and if the Shifters are in the same chapters, they demonstrated their skills and such.

Four (4) - Fanfic. This story is actually a more serious story. It's based after Ymir gave herself up to Reiner and Berthold but before she's eaten by Porco. Porco has so many questions so he turns to the soon to be former Jaw Titan for answers.

Thinking about Erwin’s appearances on set despite no longer being in the show for years now. That doesn’t stop him from coming from back time to time. He tries to attend every award ceremony to support his friends and the rest of the crew. The same treatment is often reciprocated when it comes to his award ceremonies.

One time, Zeke posted on his Instagram story regarding the filming season and how it was about to start again. Make-up set, props ready in the background. Other actors were seen sitting around in their uniforms. Erwin was there to give a surprise visit, giving him a side hug with a clapperboard in his right hand.

A month or two after an episode is aired (to avoid spoilers), Connie uploads blooper videos to his YouTube channel. One of the few moments that get really popular is Levi breaking character every few seconds because he can't stop laughing at the ticklish feeling of the bandages over his eyes and lips.

Eren and Jean stream video games on Twitch (scheduled on weekends) and are really great friends outside of the show. They often drag Armin into it, who isn’t great at games, but he tries. What matters to them is having fun regardless of what they do! They get into character once in a while, saying lines or coming up with something silly, and the chat goes insane.

Erwin ends up creating a channel to post vlogs every week or two. He gets active on social media, but he isn’t constantly up to date with trends. He’s a supportive guy though, and he learns the power of emojis the hard way.

Levi doesn’t have social media except for a Twitter account that he never uses (mainly to claim his name so no one else could take it, and there’s no profile picture). His bio is something simple that the kids come up with.

Moblit falls under this category of non-social media users but appears in posts of others.

Levi had no idea people were shipping his character with someone else, but he doesn’t get why. There’s hardly romance in this story aside from Mikasa and Eren, it’s mostly about war.

In a Q&A, he briefly admits that Eruri is cute but thinks Levihan has more chemistry.

During an interview, Connie once accidentally said a minor spoiler and Reiner tried to cover it up by flexing his muscles as a form of distraction. Mikasa laughed the entire time as the two freaked out, and Bertholdt had to tell them, “Be quiet before you guys say something worse!

However, 95% of the time, it’s Eren who spoils almost everything about the show… if it isn’t for Annie covering his mouth and Floch suddenly making weird “ah-ah!” screams to stop him from saying anything else.

Levi had brought duck tape to cover the poor boy’s mouth—if needed, he claimed.

Petra and Oluo were in awe when they heard about AurEtra. She gives her support to Eruri and Aruani, while Oluo thinks love is the last thing to worry about in this tragic journey.

Actor AU Headcanons for some of my favorite SNK/AOT characters!

1) Tea with honey is a staple resource on set due to the amount of screaming that the show requires. Eren was, naturally, the one who made the most of that tea during the earlier seasons. However, he was able to temporarily trade off his reputation as a screamer with Zeke, given that his character became more solemn and quiet as time went on. And, well, Zeke's character couldn't be what he was without the screaming.

2) When the iconic members of the 104th training corps met Levi for the first time, they caught him while he was method acting, and were intimidated. Little did they know that, outside of work, Levi has a very warm, kind, and charismatic personality. This catches both actors on set and fans off guard due to the stark contrast it provides against his character's demeanor. He finds it very, very amusing.

3) While we're on the topic of contrast, Hange actually finds titans very unnerving to look at, unlike their character. They typically don't have to encounter many due to most titans being animated via CGI, but there are some (like Sawney and Beane) that were constructed for "authenticity of reaction", much to Hange's chagrin. They maintain a professional front as much as they can. The only one who knows about their discomfort is Levi.

4) Mikasa breaking the floorboard in the scene where she strikes the human trafficker was entirely an accident. According to her, the floorboard had been unnaturally squeaky, but it was the last part of filming for the day, so she and the stage crew agreed to power through it. The poor girl apologized profusely, but Eren argued that it made the scene cooler. It seems as though Isayama agreed as the take was kept, though the audio team had to do some extensive cleaning to wipe out all the gasps and cries of shock that came from the unnatural breakage.

5) Sasha and Ymir are roommates who were both approached by a casting agent while volunteering at a food pantry. Ymir, though intrigued, was almost 100% sure that it was a scam, while Sasha did the research to check and dragged her friend to attend the auditions for shits and giggles. When they got their respective roles, they freaked out. Sasha almost dropped out, out of fear for what her family would think for being reckless, but Ymir urged her to take charge of her life, because opportunities like these don't come by.

6) The plot point of the Attack titan being able to send memories across time distresses Armin due to his belief that there are several timelines/futures that Eren's character could have chosen to follow rather than the one that was settled on. Isayama had to formally ask him to not discuss it during interviews, because the two of them knew that if Armin began his tirade, he won't stop.

6) Grisha and Carla are neither Eren's actual parents (in fact, Grisha is not even a father outside of work) but they both care about him as if he was their own since they saw him grow up on set. Zeke likes to joke that Grisha's method acting is spectacular in that way, since it took Grisha a bit of time to warm up to Zeke due to the latter's later appearance in the show.

7) The boy in the ending credits scene with the dog is Mikasa's little brother. He was always a big fan of his sister, and when presented with the opportunity to be a part of his sister's bigtime project, he took it with both hands eagerly.

8) The first scarf that Eren wraps around Mikasa was the only scarf that they used throughout the show. It has gone through a LOT, and is threadbare in many places. Despite this, Isayama refuses to have it mended. In an interview, Mikasa admits that she had gotten used to wearing the scarf, so during scenes when she wasn't supposed to wear it, she felt very exposed and empty.

9) Annie and Armin have a lot of deleted scenes/bloopers regarding their interactions for when Annie's character was in the crystal. In one scene, Annie is seen to dancing inside her crystal behind Armin as he monologued. In another, they switched places.

10) Connie and Jean are the ones to curse the most frequently after botching a scene. The others keep a tally on how many times. In the end, Connie barely ended up cursing more than Jean by two times. Connie's favorite curse words are "damn" and "shit" while Jean's is any variant of "fuck" like fuck, motherfucker, fucking hell, etc.

"I hope the questions aren't about how the titans' butts are made," you laughed as you sat down on your stool, waiting for the brown haired guy to sit next to you.

"pretty sure they're actually curious this time," you replied, staring at eren for a few seconds before looking away when he stared back. you didn't want to risk exposing your relationship right now.

"hi buzzfeed this is eren jaeger,"

"and this is (name), and we are here to answer some of your most asked questions woohoo!" you cheered a little as you placed the bowl on your lap, tapping it a little with your rings while eren gave a light chuckle next to you.

"you're too excited, we haven't even started,"

"I'm trying to put everyone in a good mood," you replied cheekily, smiling when the staff seemed to laugh at your words.

"you're a natural at doing that," eren's hand brushed against your bare knee, your body being used to his touch trying to act ticklish just to avoid any rumor spreading about you and him.

it was hard though, you and eren were both very affectionate individuals. you were always cuddling on set when cameras weren't around, stealing kisses in your changing room and leaving in the same car before everyone else to spend more time together.

this interview was definitely going to give you guys away.

"okay jaeger, enough with the sugarcoating," you wanted to say flirting but knew better than doing so. grabbing a random paper, you unfolded it carefully before reading what was written on it out loud.

"i never thought that i would need the scene where (name) kicks eren in the face, seems like levi taught her how to do that. was it easy to round kick him—" you stopped halfway to laugh at eren's face, "round kick him in the face?" you giggled when eren looked at the staff members, feigning being shocked at the way the fan described the scene.

"round kicking him in the face wasn't hard to be honest, his character was being an asshole so i think my character found it very fun to beat some sense into his head," you smiled cheekily at the camera, eren rolling his eyes from next to you before grabbing a question himself and reading it.

"eren, you smirked when (name) kicked you— okay are all of these questions about that scene?" eren sounded so done and you couldn't help but throw your arms around him, almost in a comforting manner which he accepted gladly and leaned his head against yours affectionately, almost purring at being so close to you.

"anyway, when is the wedding?" you pulled away from eren with wide eyes. that's not what you were expecting.

"what does that even mean???"

"it means they want us to end up together," eren's tone was teasing and he winked at you as you rolled your eyes at him, grabbing a question yourself before a blush could start working its way up your face.

"oh this one sounds nice for once, (name) and eren's chemistry is honestly one of a kind, their scenes together seem like they come in naturally and they don't even have that many bloopers together. my question is, how do you adjust so well and overcome that feeling of awkwardness when you have to be so close to each other's faces without bursting in front of the camera?" you hummed, clearly thinking of an answer for the question.

you didn't know what you could come up with in order to push away any ideas that you two are dating which explains why you're very comfortable with skinship on set.

the scene the fan was talking about was one where eren grabbed you by your shoulders and pulled you closer to him, your characters were angry, frustrated and eren's teal eyes glared down at yours with a scowl, his nose brushing against yours that fans could almost feel the sexual tension between you two.

and it wasn't just how close you two were, it's how you held eye contact til the very end, even going as far as almost brushing your lips against his before he was letting go of you and storming away.

that scene had everyone making up ship names for you and him and you couldn't really blame them, watching the scene when the episode finally came out made you realize why they went wild.

"i think the first step is to get into character? I don't know how to explain it in proper words, but you have to live the story. my character was very mad at eren's during that scene and well i wanted to portray that anger, frustration but feelings of wanting to dare him, to make him doubt himself and have him crumble a little—"

"you sound like you hate me," eren commented from next to you, your laugh ringing in his ears like a beautiful melody. he could hear you laugh forever.

"maybe i do, who knows?" you wiggled your eyebrows at him to which he replied with a smirk, leaning back in his chair before giving you that stare.

"oh do you—"

"anyway!"

ATTACK ON TITAN CAST! BUT THEY’RE ACTORS ★ masterlist.

erwin buys bulk orders of coffee or tea before coming to set, and usually orders food or drinks for the staff as they are all working

sometimes levi sleeps in his car in between filming days because he is so tired but doesn’t want to go home

the director hates when connie and sasha are on set together because they are so restless and loud and irritating, but in an endearing kind of way

eren has broken his odm gear costume more times than he can count with fingers

contrary to his character being grouchy sometimes, levi is actually a super sound guy who everybody likes to work with

mikasa is quite clumsy on set and once sprained her ankle after falling off a roof

jean films around set hoping that his clips make it on the behind the scenes clips for the movie (they do)

whenever they win awards at award shows, they make erwin deliver the speech

reiner likes to bother people when they’re in hair and wardrobe

gabi really struggled to film sasha’s death scene

erwin and levi often make hilarious bloopers together because they are so close in real life

and zeke and levi have a very humorous dynamic and are constantly shit-talking one another during press releases or online

it was once eren’s birthday during filming and everybody chipped in to get him a cake and he started crying

half of the blooper reals are springlestein bothering people

because they’re still minors, gabi and falco (and the other warrior candidates) had to study on set together in their trailers

even after they died in season 1, fallen characters like marco and mina still come to set to cheer people on or just to see what’s happening, either bringing food or drink or to pick someone up or drop them off

sometimes zeke just improvs lines because he can’t remember them

pieck likes to jump out on all fours to scare people

during episode 8, floch accidentally hit gabi for real and cried about it for about half an hour, worried he had actually hurt her

annie couldn’t stop laughing during scenes where armin spoke to her in the crystal

when jean confronts marlowe and hitch in the woods, he hadn’t planned to actually fall over but he tripped and it made it into the final cut

bertholdt cannot ride horses and so half of the time it’s a body double filling in for him

sasha and armin choreographed a dance routine to the first opening song and it became the tiktok dance trend

moblit takes photos of everybody on set and wants to publish a book at the end full of behind the scenes photos and clips

reiner and jean always steal things from set and then deny it when they’re called out

annie is russian and she cusses out the other actors in russian and it creates a little bit of tension

connie was the creator of the conkasa trend and it is a now a running joke amongst them all

mikasa cries when she sees people dressed up as her at premieres, she finds it so heartwarming

the cast like to colour coordinate at events and when season 4 came out, they unveiled their trench coats on the red carpet and were trending on twitter for twenty four hours

all the cast genuinely do most of their stunts, or at least try to unless absolutely advised against it

it is always colt or floch who accidentally post spoilers online, to the point where they had to go on a strict social hiatus while filming

yelena gives gabi piggy back rides around set and is really great with the child actors

zeke has no idea what the plot of any season is because he only reads his scenes in the script and didn’t read the manga/original plot

sasha and connie read fan fictions for the cast and find it hilarious reading them out loud

hange goes on instagram live around set

to get into character, ymir and historia went on several dates before filming to establish a connection 

the 104th all have photographs in the weird season 3 torture chair

bertholdt always accidentally breaks things on set and tries to pretend he hasn’t but everybody saw that he did

jean had a crush on carla and eren would not let him live it down

the cast have been banned from coming to watch crying scenes being filmed because when armin had to reveal to mikasa that eren had been eaten in season 1, reiner and annie couldn’t stop giggling in the background

reiner studied and researched his character’s personality traits and disorders to make a realistic performance and he had to go to therapy after getting too into character for season 4

erwin is the only cast member from the main show to appear in junior high

when filming his ova scenes, jean and sasha genuinely cooked each of their dishes to make the scene more realistic and personal

connie asks if he can play music on the speakers while they’re assembling set or getting into costume and it’s always a horrendously terrible playlist of songs

falco was very excited when fortnite asked if they could release attack on titan skins for an exclusive attack on titan fortnite event

eren, armin, mikasa, connie, levi and erwin were available for the wired autocomplete interviews, but the rest of the cast were jealous that they didn’t get to do one, so marco created versions for each cast member and filmed them in between takes and uploaded them onto youtube (each are at least forty minutes long, they made the most of the time)

zeke, yelena and farlan are all australian

whenever a cast member dies, the cast (and crew) throw a large party in one of the empty lots on site and they all end up drunk and hungover the next day

eren has a photograph of all the cast in his wallet

all of the cast have either made out with each other or slept with each other, and they don’t try to hide it anymore

also, all of the cast are very protective of their child co-stars and were very outspoken in support of gabi and falco after episode 8

whenever they go abroad for press conferences, they try to push questions onto whoever can speak the native language of the country. for example, in france, they desperately look towards jean. in germany they want eren to speak for them

he doesn’t know HOW it made it into the final cut, but when the scouts make it to the ocean, you can see jean get taken out by a wave in the background followed by levi hysterically laughing

whenever they forget their lines, they tend to either sing or pull a funny face or do improv, trying not to ruin the take but in the end it’s worthless

they all hate wearing the boots because they’re so uncomfortable

erwin dances on set to embarrass everybody

the 104th are pretty relevant and relatable and so often quote random funny vines or tiktoks around set or film videos together

when they first met, floch and eren did not like each other but eventually they became friends

porco likes to flirt with people around set

mikasa, eren and armin feel like they’ll be best friends for life after filming

erwin and levi blow kisses at each other when they’re filming

their bloopers are so funny and there are so many that they had to include them all in a separate disc

hange and levi were honestly crying when erwin died

marco couldn’t stop giggling filming his death scene and reiner, annie and bertholdt eventually got fed up because filming that scene was so traumatic and heavy

zeke likes to fight with interviewers and fans during comic con panels

jean and eren obnoxiously flirt and call each other pet names around set. jean will be coming out of wardrobe yelling “eren, my beloved, where are you?” “over here, sweetheart”

connie walks around saying “stan loona” in reply to anything anybody says to him

instead of hiring a male actor to play historia’s lover in the stables, it is actually ymir in disguise since historia and ymir began to date in real life between filming

mike actually has no sense of smell so he finds it hilarious that he plays a character who sniffs everybody

reiner falls asleep on set a lot and wakes up to doodles on his face

bertholdt sings when they eat lunch

erwin forgot he was wearing a green screen arm and in so many takes he began moving it around and they had to cut great takes because he began talking using both hands

sasha didn’t mean to punch mikasa’s boob when filming the fight scene over meat but the director liked it so he kept it in

jean brings his dog to set and now falco and gabi are very attached to him

due to hange being non binary, the wardrobe and makeup department were very strict on making sure that it translated correctly on screen

eren and reiner have an andrew lincoln/norman reedus friendship

the season 4 cast were very nervous to be new additions and so answer questions on panels very seriously, in comparison to the original cast who gave up being serious and now troll everybody

pieck and gabi are like genuine sisters on set and after gabi films with falco at the braus stables, pieck always stands on set to watch with a smile

filming the attack on marley scene for season 4 was chaotic because the cast kept fooling around with their titan dummies

levi couldn’t perfect holding the mug and as a result broke at least five mugs

orou biting his tongue was originally not scripted

hitch is always late to shoot her scenes

bertholdt hates watching himself on screen so he hasn’t seen any of the final products

the actor who plays sasha’s father is her father in real life

connie is spanish british

Yes I'm alive and well, I've just stoped using social media altogether and are in the process of deactivating most of them.

Heeeyyy my beauties.

First of, I do apologise for not updating anything in the last while, since October I believe? Sorry. 😔

Unfortunately what happened what that there was this sickness bug going around and I just about died inside when I started experiencing the symptoms and ultimately, got unwell myself.

Cause me to have a lack of motivation, headaches, a bad cough that only now subsided and so long as the air doesn't hit my throat, I won't need to, being sick from the coughing and a sickness bug (so much for that New Year drink I have yet to have btw, lol), etc. It was only this week that I'm feeling back to my old self now and again, I am so so sorry for the lack of anything here.

But I'm back now!! I'll make a vote post shortly but I do remember that I said that my SD corrupted. From what I recovered, via SD recovery I decided to get an upgrade on my cloud storage (two (2) terabyte memory storage, the price is a steal and I recommend getting it) and while everything was backing up, some old notes popped up.

Turned out, back when I was in high school, I started doing some Attack on Titan "bloopers". At the time me and my friend who introduced me to the show made up funny scenarios and it was basically if it were a show on itself or a parody, hence bloopers. Little did we know that Actor AU was a thing. I know that now. 😍😍

Anyway, so I have that and its basically like list so I'll sort the grammar and share that. Bonus was that it turned out, not long after the Marley Arc was introduced, I did a couple of Fanfictions focused around Pieck and Porco, not as a ship story but I do still ship them nonetheless btw. Another is a Fic where a Shifter has a chapter to themselves or shared a chapter (I think, can't remember and haven't looked at it in forever) and they are teaching the future Honorary Marley Children stuff about their specific Titan and strategies, etc. School. It's at a school for them before our four (4) main kiddos were selected to be the inheritors and such.

I'll specify more on the vote post later today and you beauties can choose what you want to see first when I get to them, after my Zelda ones and after some editing for grammar and typos, etc. So glad I get to see them again, I surprisingly missed them.

levi's actually very fucking affectionate and openly kindhearted; it's an out of body experience watching an episode of the show and then looking up an interview with him in it where he's like,, very different

hange and moblit share an instagram page, it's literally just them posting random bullshit as a joke. in a week, it gained half a million followers and was verified by instagram

jean has like, thirty scandals a year and they've debated kicking him off the show and replacing him with somebody else

^ however, he is very loved on set and connie has thRoaT punched a producer in that man's name. somehow, he wasn't immediately fired

[this was a headcanon on the tiktok i saw, i just LOVED it 😭 i didn't think of it!],, even after being written off of the show, marco's a beloved member of the set's camera crew!! so many people cried when he was killed off, he decided to stay 🥺 lowkey didn't have any tech experience doe, but he's so loved they let it slide and taught him everything he needs to know

although they don't ship their characters on the show, connie and sasha are engaged and it just explains their chemistry on set perfectly DJFJ

during that scene where levi impaled reiner with a sword and threw him down the wall, the two of them just couldn't stop laughing and there's a seven minute long blooper reel of JUST that single take

"I have to ask," Levi declared, causing Hanji to snap their head at Levi.

"Levi, as your friend and commander: don't do it," Hanji warned.

"Hanji, I have to," Levi declared.

"No you don't!" Hanji exclaimed.

"Hanji, fucking look at him!" Levi gestured outside the window. Hanji peered out, seeing how annoyed and tired Optimus looked in titan form.

"First of all: invasion of privacy!" Hanji began.

"That is so fucking hypocritical of you," Levi retorted.

"Second!" Hanji cut him off, "You heard what Megatron said! 'You'll never look at Optimus the same way again?!'"

"And you believe him?" Levi challenged.

"So Optimus just appearing out of nowhere and tackling Megatron to the ground just to get him to shut up wasn't an indicator to let this go," Hanji proclaimed sarcastically.

"...I'm asking." Levi shot up from his chair and walked out the room.

"You're going to regret doing that-! And he's gone," Hanji sighed as Levi slammed the door behind him, "Couldn't give Optimus a shred of dignity, could you?"

Wheeljack grinned as he walked inside the Jackhammer to grab the datapad. He walked out of the ship and pressed a few buttons.

"I have audio." Wheeljack's digit hovered over the play button, "You sure you want to hear it?"

Levi couldn't help but feel tense. He had no idea if he was making the right choice in this, but he needed to know. "Yes."

Wheeljack merely responded by pressing play.

Optimus noticed the way that Levi was staring at him for the rest of the day. The Captain kept on giving him side eyes and looks of mortification. He still had a headache from the...recreational activities he did with Wheeljack and Arcee, but...something told him that Levi had become aware of what exactly happened.

"Captain." Optimus tightly greeted in his bipedal mode.

"Prime." The strain was also apparent in his voice.

There was silence between the two before Optimus spoke up.

“Wheeljack had recorded the incident, didn’t he,” Optimus stated. The both of them knew that’s not question.

“...how?” Levi can only muster.

“I do not know,” Optimus confessed in defeat.

“I don’t even think anyone would believe me,” Levi lamented.

This is Phli’s last video from 2015. DNP did have a lot going on the rest of December that they shared. They went to a “Hawaiian themed Christmas party” that included a cocktail-making lesson, went to the Star Wars premiere, did some voice acting, and took a bunch of polaroids for the Project for Awesome. The exchanged gifts with each other (and shared Dan’s phone case and Phil’s blobfish) before Phil headed up North on December 22. He tweeted a lot about hanging out with his family (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Dan went back to his hometown on Christmas Eve; he shared a picture with Colin as usual.

A list of things that happen in Paper Mario: The Origami King

now TTYD and SPM got pretty dark but goddamn is Origami King a huge step back in that direction

i mean throughout the game you’ve got shit like:

Olivia outright saying that the Folded Soldiers, Bowser’s minions that got brainwashed and turned into uncanny paper dolls, “cannot be saved” and should be put out of their misery (this is in like the first 15 minutes)

The towering Paper Macho Soldiers are introduced as eating reality, scarfing down sections of the landscape and leaving nothing but gaping black pits that lead to who knows where. Inside these pits? The wire frames holding up the entirety of the universe. Sprinkle confetti over them to fix them. It’s fine.

Everything about Bobby the Bob-omb’s personal quest. The titanic Paper Macho Gooper Blooper killing his friends is only PART of the tragedy. Mario--the static, unchanging, silent and straight protagonist--actually flips out and cries (more emotion than he’s basically ever shown) when Bobby does what he must.

The Paper Macho Chain Chomp is completely invincible and cannot be fought. You can only run away from it, and several scenes are dedicated to showing it ripping apart and eating Folded Soldiers like a child being handed a fruit roll-up. Paper Macho creations can already eat reality, so whatever the Chain Chomp eats is gone. Also the noises you hear if you let it catch up to you? Awful.

In a world made of paper, the WMD potential of tools like hole punches, scissors, and staples is fully and terrifyingly explored. These aren’t paper representations of these tools, they’re real. If it weren’t for the fact everything was colorful, kid-friendly, and made of paper, this shit would be downright nightmarish. 

The Holepunch steals the sun, plunging a desert into an eternal night, and then steals the faces of dozens of Toads, which effectively lobotomizes them and turns them into disco-crazed zombies. It can even hole punch Mario’s face, cutting his HP in half in a single move.

The Scissors introduces itself by nearly murdering Bowser Jr, cutting him to pieces over a horror movie black and red filter and making you rush to repair him before the injuries fucking kill him.

The horrorshow Scissors does doesn’t end there, though. Bowser’s Army, eventually rallied together and assaulting it, are more or less effortlessly defeated. And then? Scissors takes all of their faces and makes a Paper Macho soldier out of them. They’re still alive, aware, and some of them are screaming. 

BIG SPOILERS

EVERYTHING about the Stapler. The reason the Folded Soldiers can’t be saved? Because no one can perceive the staples it creates (and even if they could, the staples can’t be unbent), which is holding them all in place. It’s hinted that the staples may be the reason the Vellumentals have gone berserk; they’ve been folded and stapled against their will, and it hurts.

The Stapler is a savage attack animal, is basically indestructible (only the sensitive spring and hinge inside it take substantial damage), and incredibly dog-like, even barking at you when you approach. How do you defeat it? Mario grabs it by the top and bottom half and folds it backwards until the hinge shatters. Like breaking a wild dog’s jaw.

And then there’s also everything about King Olly’s plan: Secure 1,000 of the most beautiful sheets of paper he can find (including people), fold them into 1,000 Paper Cranes, and make a wish on them. His wish? For every Toad, everywhere, to die and never come back.
