"why would ROBOTCHARACTER be fat? They're a robot!"

I dunno, why are humans fat? It stores energy, provides insulation, and cushions the body.

It's a good solution, evolution has worked on it for millions of years. Why wouldn't robots, especially biomechanical ones, use the same solution?

Also, and I'm sorry if this shocks you from your illusions, but most of the time when we're drawing/writing robots, we aren't talking about actual robots, like Asimo or any of the Boston Dynamics abominations. We're talking about fictional robots. These robots are designed by humans... And many humans are fat. Sometimes the fictional robots are fat because their creators are, similar to why the robots are gay or trans or whatever. We're playing with the idea of robots like us, and there's nothing wrong with that. Release the internalized fatphobia and realize a fat robot is perfectly fine, just like a fat human.
