Sports and Me- we have been inseparable since the age of 5. 🙌 Being a hyperactive kid in childhood made my parents put me in swimming classes. 🏊♀️ I remember my first dive in 2004, and there’s no looking back after that.
😎 I started my sporting career by participating in local swimming tournaments. 🏆 2008 marked my first sea swimming event where I swam a distance of 8 K.M between Dharamtar & Gateway of India. 🌊
However, participating in the modern Pentathlon had taken a major turn in my sporting journey. 🏃♀️🏊♀️🤺🏇🏃 After taking part in the Modern Pentathlon for 3 consecutive years, I won my first GOLD medal in 2015 🥇 and qualified for the Biathle Triathle World Championship. It was one of the golden memories ✨ when I became the first Indian athlete to compete in the Modern Pentathlon at the Asian Games. 🇮🇳
After that, I won several gold & bronze medals in various international championships. 🏅My coach Vaibhav C. Chaphekar, also my father was the backbone of my achievements. 🙏
Winning 6 Gold medals & 1 Bronze medal in the 2023 National Games is the proudest moment for me & my family.👨👩👧👦 But, things turned upside down when I injured my shin bone in the Asian Games in 2022. 🤕
And being an Olympic contender, representing India in the Olympics 2023 could not happen. 😞 Demotivation shattered my confidence as well, but I decided not to give up on my dreams. 💪
As an athlete, I aspire to inspire. My love for sports drove me to focus on my fitness more than ever, and I resumed training.🏋️♀️
I am happy to share with Rising Star that I've recovered fully and look forward to playing in the National Federation Games in 2024 and the Asian Games in 2026. 🤞

L Chaoba Devi s Name Recommended For Senior India Women s Football Team Head Coach
The All India Football Federation: The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Technical Committee recommended the name of former India international Langam Chaoba Devi as the head coach of the Indian senior women's team. Technical Committee met virtually on Thursday to recommend the names of the coaching staff of the senior women's team. "After much deliberation, the Technical Committee recommended the name of former India international Langam Chaoba Devi for appointment as the head coach of the Indian Senior Women's Team," the AIFF release read. Chaoba Devi has represented India at two AFC Women's Championships and the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok and was formerly the assistant coach of the senior women's team. She is the current head coach of Kickstart FC, who are unbeaten and presently in second place in the ongoing IWL season. "Priya PV, named the AIFF Women's Coach of the Year in 2023, has been recommended as the assistant coach of the Blue Tigresses," it added. Last year, Priya PV was the head coach of the Indian U17 team, who made it to Round 2 of the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers for the first time. Lourembam Ronibala Chanu should continue in her role as the goalkeeper coach of the Indian senior women's team, the Committee recommended. The Blue Tigresses are expected to participate in the 2024 Turkish Women's Cup, scheduled for February 19 to 28 in Turkey during the FIFA women's international match window. This could be India's third participation in the Turkish Women's Cup, after 2019 and 2021. The full list of participating teams and fixtures will be announced by the organisers in due course. After the conclusion of round 10 of the IWL on February 11, the Indian squad will camp for a week before departing for Turkey. The meeting was chaired by former India captain IM Vijayan and attended by AIFF Acting Secretary General M Satyanarayan, members Pinky Bompal Magar, Harjinder Singh, Arun Malhotra, Climax Lawrence, Eugeneson Lyngdoh and AIFF Technical Director Syed Sabir Pasha. The Acting Secretary General Satyanaranan, said: "We want to give our women's team more international exposure this year, and we have decided to send the team to this Turkish invitational tournament. So, I think it will be a good start. Hopefully, our girls will gain much-needed experience playing in a European atmosphere. With the technical committee having recommended their choice of coaches, let's hope for the best and find some new talent for the Indian team.” Read the full article
