Like, recently, IISM students volunteered in the “TB Mukt Bharat” awareness cricket match 🏏 held at Mumbai Cricket Association ground, BKC. The friendly game was between the Members of Parliament (led by the BJP MP and former union minister Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur Ji) and the Celebrity Cricket Team (led by Suniel Shetty). Both teams supported the mission of achieving a tuberculosis-free India 🇮🇳.

Sports bring people together and inspire everyone to create meaningful awareness in society. This event gave Sports Management students the chance to apply their skills & knowledge while supporting an important cause that truly matters.

Besides, during every live exposure, they've discovered new aspects of their learning and grown a solid network within the industry 🤝.

No dream is too big to achieve. You need to push your boundaries with your burning passion, day by day, to turn into reality.

I, Vanashree Hajari, took up karate lessons to schedule my leisure time, only to learn later that it became an integral part of my life. on the highest global platform. 2025 has seen some of my best performances, however, it’s filled with a lot of challenges and setbacks.

Like every athlete, you need to learn how to live with your injuries and win through your shortcomings.

There were days I faced rejections, failures & criticism. But, giving up on my dream was not an option for me.

Like I said earlier, this sport has taught me many things, and bouncing back with confidence is one of them.

In 2023, I won the National Karate Championship. Earlier in 2025, I brought a Gold medal for winning the State Level Karate Championship.

One of the proudest moments of my sports career was representing India at the WKF Youth League K-1 in Fujairah, UAE in 2025.

For the first time, I competed on an international stage, showcasing my skills against the best and finishing seventh in the world rankings.

Standing under the Indian flag while being accoladed for your sport was the experience I would carry for the rest of my life.

Moreover, I was always keen to know the business aspect of sports as well. And that led me to join IISM.

Studying sports marketing, strategic management, sports event management, PR & journalism has broadened my knowledge and career opportunities.

With my goals, aspirations, and passion for sports, I have already begun an experiential journey, moving closer to achieving my dreams day by day.

Recently, IISM students became part of a great cause while volunteering at Rang Birange Run (4th edition) through 4 Memories.

The run represented diversity and equality in India 🇮🇳, supporting inclusivity, gender equality, women's empowerment ♀️, and sustainability ♻️.

Sports really inspire people to come together and act as a catalyst for societal transformation.

It was a great opportunity for the Sports Management students to not only manage the event but also contribute their skills to a good cause.

As Bravish Palyekar, a BSM (Bachelor of Sports Management) student, shared, “Volunteering at this marathon event was exciting and rewarding 🎉.

It was wonderful to see many runners participating for a great cause.

Celebrating the Victorious Vanashree Hajari! 🎉

A Karateka and an IISM student 🥋, Vanashree won a Gold medal 🥇 in the Maharashtra State U-21 and Seniors Karate Championships 2025 on 2nd March in Pune.

Her unwavering determination, dedication, and passion for the sport made her an inspiring karateka for our country 🇮🇳. She also represented India at the WKF Youth League K-1 in Fujairah, UAE 🇦🇪, earlier in 2025, where she competed against some of the best karatekas in the world and achieved an impressive 7th place in the tournament.
