Their victory at the National Games in Uttarakhand feels personal as they not only represented Maharashtra in the tournament but are also pursuing their academic journey at IISM.

With their indomitable spirit and dedication 💪, Mayank Chaphekar & Kimaya Karle have inspired aspiring youth of India 🇮🇳 to follow their dreams in sports. Though shining as National athletes 🏅, they are excelling in sports education as well: Mayank is pursuing Sports Management, and Kimaya is in Sports Science 🤓.

Once again, IISM celebrates their moments of glory & joy 🎉, as they won 7 medals altogether in the 38th National Games 🏆.

Dr. Ajit Kulkarni, Track & Field coach and founder of Aim Sports Foundation, outlines a pattern while training his players 🏃‍♀️. He observed their body language and assessed how they sounded before starting a training program. Additionally, a coach needs to improvise the routine, which Dr. Kulkarni found crucial for enhancing an athlete’s performance.

‘Mumbai & its people’ through the lens of former Indian cricketer & the founder of IISM, Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni 🏏.

He traveled to the flashback while sharing his experience of his early cricketing phase with Maharashtra Times 📰, which was published today.

In the article, he mentioned how he received help on the train while traveling to Wankhede Stadium to practice cricket and how locals always came to motivate him as he was striving to play for the Indian Cricket team 🇮🇳.

He also expressed his gratitude to the University of Mumbai for their support since he established the International Institute of Sports & Management 🙏.

Mumbai is the city that helps every dreamer to achieve their dreams ✨ and never lets them give up on their aspirations 💪, NK firmly believes in it.

Failures are not those who didn’t win. It’s those who never tried after failing. 💯

Life has thrown many curveballs ⚾️, and I dodged each with my determination 💪; Whether it's my injury 🤕, my struggle to balance my studies 📚, or not performing my best every time 😔. Being an athlete 🏅, I have seen both sides of the coin 🪙, but I also learned how to transform setbacks into comebacks.

I, Vidhi, started my athletic journey by playing skates in my early childhood 🛼, but I was 5 when my coach introduced me to Roll Ball, a unique game with a combination of four games., i.e., Basketball 🏀, Roller skates 🛼, Handball 🤾‍♀️, and Throwball 🏐. Since then, the sport has become more than a part of my life ❤️.

I had the opportunity to play in several State & National level tournaments and won many medals 🏅. But winning Gold in the 37th National Games Goa 🥇 gave wings to my dreams ✨. It made my parents and coaches prouder of me. 😊

Though, due to my ankle injury 🤕, I couldn’t go to the selection camp of the Asian Championship 🚫, I never lost faith in myself 🙏 and aspire to participate in the highest-level championships in the future.

My passion for sports has led me to join IISM 🏫. And it's the best decision I have made so far. Studying here not only keeps you connected to sports but also gives you exposure to the world of sports business 🤓, inspiring you to reach the peak of success 🏆.

The Proud IISM Volunteer Training Team for 38th National Games Uttarakhand 2025. 💪

As IISM collaborated with National Games Uttarakhand this year as a volunteer training partner 🤝, a dedicated team of sports professionals, who are also IISM alumni, went to Uttarakhand to provide comprehensive training to the volunteers 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️. They conducted online training 💻 for the 30k general volunteers and on-field training for 3000 selected volunteers by visiting 11 key locations in Uttarakhand 📍, aiming for responsible volunteerism in the grand event.

IISM congratulates everyone for their great endeavour and contributions to sports development. 👏

A priceless experience for future sports professionals! ⚽️

About 110 IISM students went on an exclusive stadium tour to Mumbai Football Arena 🏟️ before the match day of ‘Mumbai City Fc’ vs ‘East Bengal City Fc’, exploring the parts of the areas like Stands, Broadcasting Room 🎤, Press Conference Room, Dressing Room, and so on.

While they took a tour around the ground 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️, they had the opportunity to gain insights into the overall preparation of the match, such as stadium operations, ticket costing 🎟️, field preparation, sports marketing 📈, and media communication.

The stadium visit wasn’t just a tour. It’s a classroom of real-world sports affairs. 🧑‍🏫

IISM students witnessed the Star-studded event ✨ at the 50th Anniversary of Wankhede Stadium 🏟️ during the work exposure recently.

The event, held from 11th to 19th January, featured many exciting moments, including but not limited to live cricket matches 🏏, felicitation of Mumbai cricket legends and former & current Indian cricket captains 🏆, a recognition ceremony for the groundsmen & curators, and a 50th-anniversary celebration of Wankhede stadium 🎉.

“I had the incredible opportunity to serve as an Operations Coordinator during the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Wankhede Stadium. Working at such a legendary venue is a dream for many young sports enthusiasts, and my time there was filled with exciting moments.”, shared Shreyas Gokhale, one of the IISM students who volunteered there.

Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane, Diana Edulji, and Nilesh Kulkarni, amongst the eminent Indian cricketers, graced the event on 19th January.
