❤: Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom?

For Octopath? Probably Temenos at least at of ones I'm probably more able to talk about. It's gotten better, but I've never liked the whole "crimenos bc crime haha" deal. It's definitely gotten better though.

For Triangle Strategy, Roland is an obvious one, but I'll talk about him more down under 💚. Though these might be older as well, but I've also seen some Benedict takes that are off. "Benedict is better than Roland bc Roland is making a dumb decision out of wanting revenge, unlike Benedict, who is being rational" as though Benedict's desire to overthrow the Royal Family is fueled by a desire to get revenge for Destra via her son.

🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?

I can't say I know of any tristrat theories I disagree with, but for Octopath, I've never really been a fan of the "Temenos is a child of Claude theory". It's largely based of a misinterpreted line from Arcanette directed at Throné and the fact Temenos has white hair (which like. It's a jrpg. That's like par for the course for a jrpg). The only "solid" evidence I've seen is the fact that Temenos has a night based passive.

To me, it's simply less of a theory and more of a fun headcanon.

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

So, I am going to put a cut here haha. Roland Glenbrook, my beloved, your chapter 17 decision is horrible but man I've wanted to do a full little rant for it for a while

So, Roland's chapter 17 decision "To give up the Kingdom and side with Hyzante, despite this dooming the Roselle". A horrible decision that leads to the most "bad" of the bad endings. But, it is not a decision made because Roland hates the Roselle, nor did it "come out of no where" not be "ooc" for Roland.

Roland is established as the "champion of Morality" so to speak. He cares deeply about the safety of his people and friends, and dislikes when the strong try to overpower the weak for gain, as shown by his second character story. He explains this point himself if you do the Liberty Ending, that he can't abide with Aesfrost for that exact reason, as Gustadolf is the embodiment of the strong crushing the weak for their own gain.

If you visit Hyzante, you see Roland comment on how if everyone's needs are met, there's no need for war, a point initially brought up in Chapter 3 if you visit Hyzante, and elaborated on during chapter 10 if you smuggled the salt.

When he shifts to Utility at the end, it's still done out of wanting to protect his people, but that ideal has been tainted by his (cowardly) belief that Glenbrook is too far gone to be saved, caused by the low self worth of himself first shown in chapter 2 growing due to everything that's happened. The corruption you learn about if you report Sorsley. His chapter 15, where his attempts to clear out said corruption in the Royalists leads to a child trying to kill him, and his own people viewing him as a tyrant.

It's a decision made out of desperation and cowardice one he rejects to various degrees in all 3 other endings. And the thing is, as far as Roland knew, he was stripping away his own power along side Glenbrook, as there was no way he could have known Idore was going to execute Tenebris and offer him a position as one of the Saintly Seven.

It's still a hypocritical decision as are Benedict's and Frederica's, but this ain't about them rn, but he realizes that himself during the Golden ending especially, both during his apology scene with Serenoa, as well as during various mid-battle conversations.

Yo Alice, I just wanted to let you know that I don’t see anything you post as highly negative or always complaining at all. I think basically everything you post/talk about is immensely insightful and merely just pointing out and discussing things you disagree with or dislike as opposed to whining about something saying every single part is bad and terrible and if you like or agree with any of it you’re a morally bad person (which is how a lot of peoples “insightful fandom analysis” is online). Like in your last post you literally said like “discuss this with me, I want to know if ppl have different opinions.”

I think you dare to think deeper about stories as opposed to just following along the fandom norms, and question the various biases that tend to influence fanon interpretations. I think you present everything in a constructive and actually informative way, where probably a lot of people see it and are like “oh wow i never thought about it that way, interesting. I’m glad they pointed this out.” Or adding more detailed information from the canon to the musical that also a lot of people may not know.

Anyways, I think you’re great and super cool and smart, and I actually look up to you a lot kinda, and just also deeply enjoy literary analysis. I think it’s so much more fun when people point out challenging things, and also hold it open for discussion rather than just shitting on other fans/fanon/canon.

but asdfghjkl I wanted to talk about Eponine because she's maybe my favorite character and it's weird because OMO is usually the song I skip. And I wanted to understand how this reality works in my head, why is Eponine so great but I don't like her parts of the musical? What's going on there! I want to understand!

But uh yeah if people have other opinions please tell me I want to know what people think. Obviously Eponine in the musical is one of the most beloved characters in musical theatre of all time. Ranking my favorite animated dad characters because I can’t sleep

I realized that a lot of my favorite animated characters are dads, so fuck it. Let’s rank them both on their dad-ness and on their character overall.

7. Ansel Beauregard (Arlo the Alligator Boy/I heart Arlo): okay so, as much as I’m kinda hyperfocusing on this guy rn, he kinda HAS to get the lowest rank ‘cause like… he literally abandoned his gator baby in the sewer. Honestly the fact that he’s able to be likable at all is a damn miracle, but the movie and show pull it off surprisingly well.

Basically from the moment he finally accepts Arlo into his life, he’s trying his best to make amends - though admittedly he still doesn’t always go about it the best way, lol. Growing up bullied then isolated and then becoming crazy rich at a young age has definitely made him more than a little oblivious, out of touch and self-centered (though these parts of his personality are still funny/endearing instead of being annoying imo) but he still genuinely cares (even when he was unwilling to face his truth, he still gave Arlo advice that he at least thought was in Arlo’s best interest based on what worked for him) and I really do love the interactions he has with Arlo. I also love the whole bird-man aspect of him both as a character design and fun quirk, and his VA work and singing is also phenomenal. (Seriously, I’ve been listening to “Better Life” multiple times per day, someone pls I need help asdfghjkl)

6. Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Phineas & Ferb): So, back when I was a kid, Doof was definitely my favorite character, and while I’ve kiiiiiinda grown out of him in some aspects (his over-exposure in things like MML didn’t exactly help), I can still enjoy him for being a really funny and really enjoyable character.

Can he sometimes be annoying, slightly obnoxious and take up too much screentime in the latter seasons? Sure, totally. But like- I’m never gonna NOT love the ‘evil villain who has a huge soft spot for their child’ trope, it’s a classic for a reason. Doof is a dork and can be overbearing, but he’s also really sweet and will do anything for his daughter, including get himself stung by dozens of bees. It also can’t be denied just how many of his lines and moments can still get laughs out of me even after all these years. We Stan a petty ADHD-king and (not-so-)evil scientist dad.

5. Hamato Yoshi/Lou Jitsu/Splinter (ROTTMNT): oh hey, another dad with trauma - only instead of being bullied and forced to hide himself or having a nonsensical tragic backstory, he had to deal with generational trauma, being forced into fighting/killing for sport, and finally getting mutated which led to years of on/off depression. …yeahhhhh.

This is another character I really admire for just how well they’re written, even if he wasn’t always the best dad (though for the record, he wasn’t nearly as neglectful as some fans want to claim…) I think most Rise fans would agree that Splinter absolutely has the best arc in the series, going from a strictly comedy relief couch potato to a loving father/tragic figure who manages to rise above everything for the sake of his kids. He’s willing to let the world burn for the sake of his sons and I respect the hell out of him for it regardless of whether or not it’s the ‘moral’ choice. But he’s also still really funny and really cool when he wants to be, and for as much as I’ve drifted away from Rise, Splinter and his story is still one of the few aspects I adore and appreciate about this show.

4. Pete McGee (The Ghost and Molly McGee): Pete is just a super endearing character to me even if he arguably has the least going on of all the TGAMM characters. He’s a very typical goofy sitcom dad both in terms of design (which, ngl… Pete is kinda really cute? Am I the only one who sees it?) and attitude, usually only being used for comedy while Sharon is the one who gets to be the slightly more serious one and have the heart-to-hearts with/give advice to Molly.

But that’s fine because even if he’s not the deepest dad on this list, he’s still incredibly endearing imo. He’s a 100% Wife Guy, he struggles to stand up for himself but still always tries to stand up for his family, he inspired Molly to be heavily interested in community service, and he’s a dancer! Which is just a really fun quirk, hence why I really love both the Ice Princess episode and the Dance Dad episode (asdfghjkl I remember when Tess and I were watching the latter, she was cringing at all the TikTok dances while I was sitting next to her enjoying the song and just being like yeahhhhh get it Pete! Lol). While I do wish we could have gotten a bit of deeper character stuff with Pete, he’s still pretty solid and very enjoyable to watch.

3. Bob Belcher (Bob’s Burgers): we love our autistic Burger King babeyyyyy! Seriously though, while I’ve grown to love all the Belchers, there’s definitely a reason why I gravitated towards Bob first. He’s a mess of a guy who’s just trying his best to deal with all the chaos that life and his family throw at him, and we love him for it.

I love that even while being the most grounded character in the show, he’s not afraid of being a little unhinged and just fucking going off on someone or something. He’s also often the one who’s always trying to help others, even when it’s usually by accident given how much of an introvert he is. He loves his wife, his kids and his burgers with all his heart, and even when he’s at his worst (which is a rarity), you still are rooting for the best for him and want everything to work out. His heart-to-hearts with his kids (and with other characters) really are some of my favorite moments from the show. Furthermore, much like literally all the other characters on this list, his VA’s delivery just adds SO much to his character as well. I really do just love H. Jon Benjamin, he’s so hilarious and needs to voice more characters.

2. Rodolfo Rivera/White Pantera (El Tigre): Ah yes, my first favorite animated dad character, even before Doof. As such, I’m always gonna have a soft spot for this guy. Like I’ve said before, I love how he’s able to be both a goofy and super soft-hearted character but can also be a total badass at times, sometimes without even trying.

He just wants to protect his city and help his son grow up right, and I love him for it! He’s easily one of the funniest characters in the show, but I appreciate that he’s allowed to still be cool and still have a win occasionally. He also manages to be stern without ever becoming unlikable or unreasonable, given that he’ll still always be there for his son and father even when they’re doing things he doesn’t approve of, and I think it’s that overall balance that really endeared me to him, plus his great design+voice (if I had a nickel for every time I gravitated to an Eric Bauza-voiced dad, I’d have two-). His little catchphrase quirks like “okay be good!” and saying Manny’s full name live in my head rent-free, ngl.

1. Bill Green (Big City Greens) let me make this clear… I! LOVE! BILL! GREEN! He’s just… SO great. He’s wholesome, he’s funny and goofy, he’s sweet, he’s a loving father, he’s stern but still reasonable, he’s a hard worker, he’s super relatable, he’s a secret badass, he’s a huge dork, he sings about his truck and is super attached to his wood carvings - he really is just everything and I mean that in the best possible way.

While Cricket and Tilly are obviously the stars of the show, I really do love how much energy the show puts into making Bill this incredibly well-rounded and likable character who you just can’t help but sympathize with and root for when it comes to his farm stuff. I can’t say that he’s perfect, he’s definitely made a couple pretty poor decisions here and there, but overall I think he’s everything I want out of a great animated dad character (probably because he honestly reminds me a lot of my own dad - or at least, the positive parts of my dad). He’s not the only thing I love about BCG, far from it, but he’s definitely one of my biggest favorite things about it.

BONUS HONORABLE MENTION DADS:

- Vasquez (BCG): bodyguards/surrogate dads absolutely count. So happy that Vasquez has become much more prominent and fleshed-out as the show’s gone on, he’s just so great. Thank you Danny Trejo for voicing him, can’t wait for that s4 ep where Vasquez apparently goes to therapy

- Lego Batman (Lego Batman Movie): ah yes, the kick-starter to the Batman/Bat-fam phase I had in college. Fits right alongside characters like Ansel and Splinter for being obviously flawed dads (bro literally called his new son ‘expendable’ wtf Bruce) who still care a lot/grow to become better people over time through the influence of their kid. Will Arnett is still absolutely hilarious as this character, I love how he immediately goes into dad-mode when Robin gets slammed into the windshield, and that bit at the end where he finally tells Robin the truth about his ‘dads’ still gets me a bit teary-eyed

- Wild Knuckles (The Rise of Gru): technically a grand-dad but whatever. Like I said, I love my villains with a soft-side for their kid, and it makes me sad that the Rise of Gru fandom essentially ignored this guy in favor of hot young Dr. Nefario. Like- I don’t care if the arc between him and baby Gru was somewhat rushed, dude literally got himself burned alive by a huge dragon for his surrogate grandkid, he deserves better

OK, let me start off by saying that I never thought about shipping the boys until after I ran into your account, and I gotta ask, what do you see in these two?

Do I personally ship anyone? Not at the moment, but that might change. I just started watching the anime and read the first two volumes. I usually just shipped myself with Chigiri. He's just so hot AF! 🔥

All I ask is that this Fandom won't turn out like the Haikyuu one - where everyone will be fighting over what's the best ship and forgetting that this is a sports anime about egoism.

I was so excited to answer this ask that in my haste to transfer to my laptop, ready to type an essay, Tumblr accidentally terminated my account ASDFGHJKL 😭

Okay, so to answer your first question about what I see in them:

I’ll be honest. I started shipping them after episode 1 of the anime. Bachira saying “I like you” right off the bat just made me go 👀👀👀

On top of that, Bachira was exactly my favorite type of character in fiction: wild and unhinged. You can say I immediately fell in love with him after that stunt he pulled on Kira. I started bingeing on the manga just to see more of him. I didn’t even care that much about Isagi then.

Since you’ve read only two volumes of the manga, I can’t explain in detail about why exactly I love these two. But what makes BachiSagi really special to me is that, aside from loving them as a ship, I also love Bachira and Isagi as individual characters.

Usually, when I ship characters, it’s just because I love their interactions. Sometimes, I’d stan one character of the ship, but most of the time, I stan neither, and my blorbo would be a random supporting character who I don’t ship with anyone. Like, I shipped Viktuuri from Yuri on ice, KageHina and AtsuHina from Haikyuu, and T2 from Yowamushi Pedal, but that didn’t mean I stanned Viktor, Yuuri, Kageyama, Hinata, etc. as stand-alone characters. And it’s not that they’re bad characters, either; I just didn’t care.

But Bachira and Isagi make me care so damn much.

And gods, I really want to wax poetics here, but I don’t want to spoil anything for you, so maybe just ask me this question again once you’ve caught up with the manga.

I so agree with you there, anon. In fact, I even shared my thoughts about shipping in this post, and the gist of it is to not disregard the plot in favor of pushing your ship.

A. Which player would you want as a boyfriend?

No one, lol. I’m in my 20s, so all the characters are like children to me haha. I do find Kaiser hot, though. We don’t know his age yet, but he looks at least 18. But Kaiser as a boyfriend? Hell no. I’d be annoyed to death 😂

B. Who do you consider to be the more dominant one in BachiSagi?

No one. They are equals. Partners. They take turns giving and taking. Bachira may initiate the intimacy, but it’s not like Isagi is being dragged into it. He genuinely enjoys Bachira clinging onto him and so he just lets him.

C. Who else do you ship?

A lot, haha. Being a multi-shipper is so much fun. I ship Ness/Kaiser, Kaiser/Isagi, and Isagi/Kurona. These are just casual ships, though. I enjoy their interactions, but my endgame would still be BachiSagi.

One character from your favorite current three fictional media have been turned into cats that one character from a fourth piece of fiction now has to baby-sit for a day. What happens and how clawed up are they by the end? (Or do they get perfect angel cats and cry in relief?)

Lol I'm suddenly struggling to remember what media I even like outside of Fire Emblem, but okay... Pokemon is foundational to my life so we'll go with that... And then... alright, I'm perhaps streching the term "favorite" a bit here, but I have a certain Vision so I'm going to use Hustle Cat (a visual novel dating sim that I've written a fic for) and uh... Sabrina the Teenage Witch (the 1996 TV series. My local tv stations rerun the episodes a lot and I've become very fond of it. Also, listen. The VISION.)

So obviously I'm not making a crossover without involving my beloved Grima Fire Emblem, so they're definitely becoming a cat. Mishap travelling through space and time. Better than amnesia, but you wouldn't know it from all the furious complaining.

From Pokemon I'm cat-ifying Cyrus (another beloved character. Yes I have a type. Hate to see him get so maligned when he literally has a crobat on his team and that whole subplot with rotom). I'm thinking distortion world mishap.

Now for Hustle Cat... Alright this is kind of major spoilers actually, but you have to know the spoilers to know why I'm picking Nacht. So basically Nacht is the villain and he's obsessed with his ex, Graves, and unfortunately he expresses this by being a complete bastard whose constantly threatening Graves and everyone he cares about. I mean, it's bad. It's "you guys need to get restaining orders and never talk to each other again" bad. Except they both rather clearly do still care about each other despite how absolutely toxic all of their interactions have become, and Graves won't actually do anything serious to stop Nacht EXCEPT in the route where he falls in love with the game's MC (i.e. he actually moved on). In that route, he curses Nacht to turn into a cat (but even then it's only when he's within a certain distance of where Graves and his coven live, so like... he STILL doesn't want to seriously harm Nacht, obviously). Anyway, since magic exists in this world we can kind of just make up some reason for Nacht to get thrown into another world, but at the very least we can blame him for getting the others mixed up with the cat curse.

And so then we bring in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And the character I'm forcing to take care of the others is Harvey Kinkle. He's a mortal but he does end up becoming aware of magic and the fact that Sabrina is a witch. Accordingly, he's also aware that Sabrina's cat is actually a person (Salem Saberhagen, who once tried to take over the world and was turned into a cat as punishment). He and Salem get along quite well, so I think it would be fun to give him a bunch of other cat-ified villains to babysit for a day. I can imagine an episode where Sabrina tries to help get the others back to normal and back to their own worlds, and while she's off doing that, we get to see Harvey is getting up to all kinds of comedy with the cats as Grima insists he be their servant, Nacht (who, it should be noted, has a thick Southern accent) schemes to get back at his ex, and Cyrus... Well, Cyrus would be the most calm, but I think Salem would drag him into some zany plot that backfires tremendously.

... Harvey is definitely not getting out of this situation without injury. But honestly, he's had worse asdfghjkl

one of my favorite fun facts about scream (1996) is that the ghostface character was originally supposed to wear a white robe, not a black one, in order to look more ghostly (which is technically true, I will concede that ghosts are usually white) and it got to the point where they made a prototype costume and everything before it finally occurred to someone that putting ghostface in a white hood made him look like a member of the KKK. like why did it take so long for anyone to say "hey, maybe this isn't the best idea actually" asdfghjkl

An unpopular opinion: there are several racist characters/settings (particularly ennythingos) and it's uh. uncomfortable!

My Canon OTP: don't have one

My Non-canon OTP: again, don't have one, but debbie/negatus and vextan are both fun

Most Badass Character: either debbie or imperatrix, largely because they're the only people in the realm who aren't like... wildly incompetent

Most Epic Villain: again, imperatrix by virtue of being even remotely competent. however the best villains of the show are obviously rita neil and jeff

Pairing I am not a fan of: debbie/pete he's gay she's got a double life in a fantasy realm you know how it is

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): i don't think any of the characters were screwed up but i do also feel bad for ho-tan's wish getting reversed

Favourite Friendship: debbie & elf

Character I most identify with: ho-tan because i too wish i could magically become a different gender

Character I wish I could be: one of the evil overlords like negatus and co., one of the knights, or again one of those guys who get into swordfights over minor things because gender envy

Ooh!! Okay so I was in honor choir t-three times? Two maybe? The first time I was in Junior high we had to audition to get chosen. Then we took a bus back to the school or theatre they had us practice in and we performed at a big named theater in our area 😄 the second was basically the same thing but without the audition. And I THINK I had a third one in there somewhere but I can’t remember.

I don’t have very many successes in life but I am in my city’s time capsule so 😎

44: My favorite TV Show

Last but not easiest! I can’t say I have one 😭 I like a lot of shows but I don’t have any one favorite I could turn on and just unwind. I know a lot of people love like the office, use it as background noise, and can quote it easily. I don’t have that kind of love or relationship with anything in particular. Back in the past I GUESS it would have been Adventure time or Steven universe but as of now I’ve come to this knife fight empty handed. 🤔 that said I’m SO excited for Umbrella Academy to drop the final season. My review of episode 1 got a lot of positive feedback and a lot of you asked me to cover more episodes! But my review of episode 2 didn’t get much feedback at all. Possibly because episode 2 was boring and you can only make so many funny jokes about the glowy wife before it gets stale, so I get it, it’s fine. It was boring for me too. Hopefully this gets funnier! I actually have high expectations for this episode, since apparently it introduces NotDean. You know, the childhood friend who Walker loves like a brother and is the Han Solo to Walker’s Luke Skywalker. Like, what. Stop comparing Jared Padalecki characters to Like Skywalker 2021 challenge. *insert you keep using that word...*

Anyway, in case you missed it - here are all my reviews of Walker episodes, in chronological order.

Alright. Let’s start this. Actually I have a thought before we start. You know, I was thinking that episode 3 of Supernatural is when Dean gets genuinely introduced as a person. Sera Gamble and Raelle Tucker were the first to give Dean the personality that stuck and developed into the character that we love. Dead In The Water is, not coincidetally, the episode that sold Supernatural to me. The first couple of episodes were weirdly compelling, without which I wouldn’t have continued watching, but you must understand that I’d never watched horror before. It really wasn’t my genre. I was just watching on the assumption that it would get better at some point, and if it didn’t I’d stop. But Dead In The Water got me. Because that’s when we’re really shown Dean for the first time. The rest is history and now we’re here.

So I wonder what will happen in episode 3 of Walker. Is it going to magically pull a Dean out of the hat and get me?

Let’s start. The Texan countryside. The yellow, glowy light tells us this is a flashback. Closeups of Jared and Gen. He is somewhat concerned. He’s at the wheel of a car, still on the street - a red Mustang. Unlike the red Mustang of the horseman War, it is a convertible. Fun fact: a Mustang was Kripke’s original idea for the Winchesters’ car, but then switched to the Impala for body-in-the-trunk reasons. I am the 😬 emoji.

Actually guys I need to show you a couple Jared faces. I think they’re supposed to be purposely comedic faces, but honestly this is just how he acts normally. I promise I am not coming in this with a bias towards Jared’s acting. I just observe, with my eyes. He was actually good in many Supernatural episodes.

I just can’t see Cordell Walker. I’m just seeing Jared and Gen Padalecki delivering what is a somewhat padalecki acting in front of my eyes and I swear I had to close the video in the middle of this scene and start over because of a sudden attack of second-hand embarrassment.

Basically, Walker is trying to drive the Mustang, but he is not good at it and the car stops after two meters. He feels exactly how I feel when I watch Walker.

“Damn it!” Jared exclaims, jaredly. I think that this scene is supposed to be set Many Years Ago, because Walker is wearing a backwards cap and Emily has her hair styled like Bad Janet but straighter, which actually says a lot about this show somehow.

God, I wish I could gif the entire scene to show you guys the padalacting. I mean, I could, but ain’t nobody got time for that. Have a bit of the scene.

For some reason she puts this thing on the dashboard, because he “puts your mind at ease”.

He makes more Jared faces, which we’ll skip because I don’t want to spend 7 hours on this.

Wait look at this shot of the car (with some bonus Jared face).

Why does this look filmed by your dad with a videocamera on Christmas afternoon after you received a toy car as a present? I suddenly have a newfound admiration for the directors who did Impala shots on Supernatural because it would seem car shots are not that easy to make. Maybe this is why Supernatural always filmed at night with a black car.

Guys I am telling you, if you need to watch one scene of Walker in your life, watch this scene. It’s so embarrassing. I almost decided to gif the moment of the car going and commenting “nyoom” but the Impala does not deserve this.

Anyway.

Listen, if I have to see thing thing over and over, you have to see it too.

He’s brought the damn thing onto a new cop truck while on a stakeout with Ramirez, who is just as happy about it as any normal person would.

I think they’re outside a strip club, judging from the posters outside.

He keeps quoting lines from the scene with his wife, which is sort of weird since Ramirez is not his love interest. Yet. Oh no. Don’t. Don’t do that. Don’t even thinking of doing that. Ramirez has a perfectly fine boyfriend.

Walker says that since they’re sitting there just waiting for the suspect’s movements or whatever, they should use that time to get to know each other, like “favorite movies, the teams you root for, middle names”.

Ramirez is me.

He’s like ~let’s bond~ and Ramirez goes immediately for the jugular and asks how Stella (his daughter) is doing. “Wow” he says. He says he and Stella are “in a good place, I think”. You’re not and we’re definitely not. This is the bad place.

Basically, they’re trying to live in a bubble of ignoring her upcoming court date for the marijuana thing. Ramirez says that the easy route is not a good idea. He’s like, are you speaking from experience? Basically they keep implying Ramirez also has a ~bad girl past, which I can absolutely live without.

Aaand now we see the inside of the strip club. The suspect is there, a lady with a Latinoamerican name, apparently bisexual because she’s surrounded by a woman and a man in underwear, the woman is touching her, it leaves no doubt about it. 😬 Enter the stripper on stage, who captures the lady’s attention.

The stripper is a man. Dressed as a slutty cowboy. There’s glitter.

Yeah, you read it right.

Oh no. No I absolutely change my mind. If you have to watch one scene of Walter, it must be the slutty glitter cowboy stripper.

There’s. There’s a. There’s a slutty glitter cowboy stripper.

The CW could do slutty glitter cowboy strippers and Dean Winchester is not there?!

I repeat, they killed Dean Winchester and then did slutty glitter cowboy strippers in Walker?!

What’s the target demographic of this show? Texan housewives? The gays? Are they trying to test all the waters and see what happens? Is Walker going to become about gay people and Jared’s character a secondary character in his own show?

But hey, since Supernatural already was non-kid-friendly, they could have at least put more dudes in skimpy underwear.

wait wait hold up i am actually seething about the reveal

ya boi's not a dabi stan. at all. the only reason i'm remotely interested in his character is if he's actually related to shouto and how that would affect hero society in general. i remember reading the training camp arc, seeing him being one of the villains there, him saying todoroki's full name, and thinking "SIBLINGS?????" because agshdfjlk their EYES are SO SIMILAR!! i really want to give credit to horikoshi being able to portray their similarities from artstyle alone because that's talent.

(it's more apparent in the anime since you see the eye color— but appearance-wise, shouto takes after rei and dabi takes after enji the most, so this definitely isn't the best photo to prove my point...)

anyways,,,, dabi's ideals of heroics fall in line with stain's ideals and so we all already theorized how if he was the long lost big brother touya, it would be because of the fact that his father really wasn't a hero. this makes sense. and so, we're all fucking right. props to us, really, and props to horikoshi for all the foreshadowing because i had fun :)) in terms of story and plot, i think this reveal is fantastic.

alright, on to why dabi is a dick

(i'm assuming this was his choice and no one pressured him after all)

the todoroki family is on the road to recovery!!

- shouto finally visits his mother back in season 2 and visits her every chance he gets. you see the effort he makes and it's nice to see him change from season 1 to 2 (early-roki!!)

(guys he even sends her letters- look at that sparkle by his face!! he's sweet :)) and rei's smile!!!!)

- enji (whether we wanted it or not, i don't mind much personally) is trying to atone for everything he's done to his family

- natsuo, who originally wasn't fond of shouto because he had their father's attention (although he does come to the horrible realization that shouto was one of the most unfortunate) and mother's attention (because she wanted to protect shouto), has a closer relationship with his little brother now (can you believe he didn't even know shouto's favorite food was cold soba until ch. 192?? i was sobbing). he really regrets the prejudice he had against shouto and he's trying to be an actual brother to him now.

- rei's almost recovered enough to be released from the hospital!!

- fuyumi and her idyllic "happy family"– wHICH, BY THE WAY, ALMOST CAME TO FRUITION. their mother coming home, shouto connecting with his siblings, and enji being not-the-way-he-was-before is the best outcome they could have hoped for. and it was happening.

and i realize that all of that setup is for this very moment

this? this. this. this is being broadcasted. to everyone. that means the citizens know that their new #1 hero is directly related to a member of a really bad villain organization (i almost called it a terrorist group oop-).

by ruining endeavor, the citizens faith in heroes will collapse. this also affects shouto's reputation as an upcoming hero, and i am so terrified of what this could mean for him. imagine your career ending before it even started, just when you found your passion for being a hero again. all that progress he's made for himself since starting UA could be seen as pointless to him and i would hate for him to retrogress like that because it's not his fault. i would absolutely hate it if the media starts bashing shouto for being related to a villain, when he was also a victim of abuse.

seeing this look on shouto's face is making me dehydrated istg i'm fucking SOBBING— he doesn't even look angry!! in the last few chapters he was angry and worried for his friends, teachers, father maybe, other heroes... but he just looks sad. and the fact that the panel chooses to show the left side of his face is.... there's so much to unpack.

but yeah, this is being broadcasted. does fuyumi know? the cameo she had showed her working so maybe not. natsuo's cameo showed that he was at a lecture, so he also probably didn't see.

but rei did. that's like- that's the person i would want to keep this from the most.

the effects of this entire reveal genuinely scare me. how will this affect rei's mental state? she'll realize that what enji did is actually so much worse. their first child being a villain?? i'm terrified for how she'll react, she's doing much better in recent chapters after all. her kids are visiting her, shouto sends her letters to keep in touch, and enji sends her flowers and respectfully keeps his distance. i really don't want this reveal to result in a relapse. and if she does relapse, then fuyumi's ideal of a happy family is once again out of arms reach. the future of their mother finally coming back home is so far away again and it's genuinely so heart-breaking.

plus— how will fuyumi's little elementary school students react to her being related to a villain? will the school fire her because of her connection to a villain and how that might cause concerns for students and parents????

it's also hard to say exactly how this will affect shouto and natsuo. natsuo was the closest to touya when they were kids so what would his whole opinion be of what touya's become? will he have a moral crisis?

in terms of moral crisises, i guess i'm more concerned about shouto. the boy knows he wants to forgive his father, but this is just making it so much harder. and after this, will he still want to? and finding out that his own sibling is a villain... remember the stain arc? there were some parallels between midoriya's, iida's, and todoroki's positions in the last chapter and i'm worried about what that could foreshadow. from that arc alone, we know that shouto doesn't agree with stain's views at all [i forgot what he said but it was really compelling]. we know that dabi's a stain follower though, so will this disrupt shouto's sense of justice? i hope not.

but family has always been kind of a weak spot for shouto, hasn't it? i hope this doesn't affect his resolve to be a hero because i do think that there's a way to– somehow– not have a corrupt hero society and i want him to fight for that.

touya being a villain is perfectly valid though, i don't doubt that. it's just disheartening to address that while every other todoroki was working hard to become a normal family, here's their oldest brother, who's not really dead. what's going to become of that altar at their house now?

learning the extent to touya's hatred towards endeavor is truly terrifying. we know enji is or was a horrible person and his redemption arc is based on the very fact that he can't be forgiven, despite some of his family trying their best to do so or at least get over it. but the fact that touya has even thought about killing shouto? that's just. ouch. touya's definitely gone through too much abuse, and all of the todoroki family problems are because of enji's bad parenting. but this does not justify murder and especially that of his younger brother, who also got the brunt of the abuse.

needless to say, i am a fool. i don't know if anything i just said will ever be true, but the important thing to take from whatever the heck i just shat out is that all of this is/could be a result of this reveal. it's the fact that dabi seems to have no sympathy. it's the fact that he doesn't care if his blood related family crashes and burns. really, if this is solely about endeavor and what he did, there's no need to bring the rest of the family into this. rei was sent to a hospital for god's sake. shouto has a scar. it's excessive and unmoral and although questionable ethics and values are key traits of a villain, it doesn't justify how much he's hurting the todorokis.

(look at this shit eating grin he has. no remorse. he really doesn't give a shit about the others but I DO and I'M so SAD)

and assuming that the whole "endeavor's wife admitted into hospital" was swept under the rug in terms of media, will that suddenly come back to light? because it shouldn't. maybe it should be known that she's in the hospital because of marital abuse but either way rei should not be dragged back into this disaster, and neither should the rest of them. there's also a chance that the media will accuse rei of having abused her kids too, which is messed up for different reasons. they're trying so hard to have any semblance of a normal family, and if dabi's way of revealing this to the world ruins that in any way then i hATE THIS REVEAL ASDFGHJKL—

Hi! Oh my lord I am so glad you've gotten into fanfic. I took a really long break from fanfic and I just got back into it, so I am also kind of new to the game. I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability, though.

I leave comments and/or Kudos on every single fanfic I read. Even if I didn't enjoy it (which doesn't happen often. Y'all are so incredibly talented. I end up falling in love with every story). BUT even if I didn't enjoy it, someone took the time to write it. Someone had this idea and put in the work to make it a reality. That deserves recognition. I try to at least leave Kudos on everything I read unless it is like actively offensive.

Comments are so special to me. The fact that someone has not only taken the time to read work, but comment on it, is something so special. You've already taken the time to read it, but now you also have something you want to say to the author? Wonderful. Beautiful. I love comments. I love writing comments. I love reading comments. I just absolutely adore it.

I love all comments. My favorites have to be long ones, though. When someone takes the time to tell me everything they thought, every part they enjoyed, which part made them want to cry. Those have to be the most impactful for me. I do love a good "sdiohefbucgsubfwioc" though. Those are so much fun. I love the idea that I've literally taken the ability to form words from someone.

I try to reply to every comment. Comments mean so much to me, so I want to make sure people know that. I can't always reply to all of them, or I don't see them, or it just doesn't make sense for me to answer (like if we're having a conversation and it has just come to an end). I reply to as many as I can.

I don't think I've ever gotten a negative comment. Even the ones where someone is correcting me have been really nice. Language is weird, so sometimes people will point out a misused context or something. Even those are incredibly kind and are more like "hey letting you know so you don't do it again, but this isn't meant to be rude." This fandom (for the most part) is just really amazing so I don't really get negative comments.

No. I don't think so. If there's something that is just unnecessary, maybe that. Like "Kristina wouldn't say that" no shit sherlock, that's why it's fanfiction.

YES! Every time I post something I get nervous that this will be the one that everyone hates. I think I just have to assure myself that if someone hates it, that's ok. I wrote it for myself, not someone else. If I like it, that's all that maters. I've also found that the more I like something, the more everyone else does.

A couple times. Nothing too big, though. Nothing that was completely different. I've had people take an already pretty deep line and then just take it a step further. So nothing that was fully different from what I intended, but definitely something that was far more deep than I expected it to be. I like it when people interpret things differently than I thought they would, though. It reminds me that people are unique. No one is going to read my writing in the same way I do.

I go back to my comments all the time. I have a few that have literally made me cry. Some that people write that say something like "you have no idea how much a story like this means to me" that had me sobbing for hours. I go back to those when I feel unmotivated. They make me remember why I started posting again in the first place, and why I keep wanting to write.

I wish people knew just how much those comments mean. I can't speak for every fanfic writer, but I know that it's this way for me. Comments mean so damn much. It gives motivation, it reminds me why I'm posting, it validated my creativity. Comments make me so happy. I will literally just smile for hours when I think about them. Comments (and Kudos) are literally the best.

idk why but i can just see him as an architectural student if ever he wasn't that obsessed with volleyball

honeymoons with him is pretty fun, since you get to see the other cute side of him

kageyama is often too preoccupied with volleyball and training so he didn't know what people usually do when they go out on a vacation or during honeymoons

although it wasn't that bad now compared to when he was just a highschooler, his social skills is still a bit low

you spent most of the time going along with your itinerary and visiting tourist spots and museums during the day and some heated sessions during the night

you took a lot of pictures too for the memories which is mostly full of kageyama's face btw

due to his beauty and the fact that he's a popular professional volleyball player, your honeymoon kind off became trending online and was dubbed with multiple titles which you rather not recall

(  HELLO again! It’s ya girl, Ash, and I’m here to introduce my second muse — AHN JIYEON, Ladybug’s Main Vocal & Face. I’ve linked some helpful pages for those who want to get to know her a little bit, and below the cut are some key points about her life and such if you can’t be bothered to read all the big stuff (though the information below is not brief by any means asdfghjkl). I will also have some quick plot ideas below. BIO. / PROFILE. / CAREER. / PLOTS.

BACKGROUND.

— Jiyeon was born on August 1, 1992. She is currently old af 29 years old. — Her parents split when she was a toddler, but she had/has regular contact with her father. She was raised by her mother. — When she was five, she was scouted by an acting/modeling agent while out shopping with her mother. — After signing, she started with modeling gigs that turned into acting gigs. — Throughout her childhood, she was cast in multiple dramas, and later, movies. — She decided when she was a little older that she wanted to get better at singing (she already had natural talent) and she wanted to become an idol. — She was approached by an agent from Yuseong after someone at one of her shoots heard her singing in her dressing room. Homie went behind her back and basically did all the work to get her an audition. — She aced her audition in January 2009 and became a trainee with Yuseong. The start of her training was ✨rough✨ because sis couldn’t dance, but she’s a quick learner and was able to manage. — She debuted with Ladybug in September 2012 (age 20). — She participated in lots of variety shows after debut and worked her ass off to live up to the name of face of the group. One of her favorite shows to take part in was We Got Married. — When Ladybug was put on hiatus, Jiyeon was pissed, but continued her grind and picked up more acting/modeling opportunities to keep her and Ladybug’s names relevant (she even participated in her first musical, Mamma Mia!). — She’s relieved now that Ladybug is finally getting some attention from Yuseong but she fears that their time together is limited at this point.

PERSONALITY/FACTS.

— She is a Leo. Personality type ENFJ-T. — She speaks Korean and English fluently! Her mother was born and raised in California and raised Jiyeon to be bilingual. She is a beginner in Japanese. — She is very outgoing. It’s easy for her to make friends with people quickly, and she has a knack for making people feel welcomed and special. — She gets really uncomfortable during awkward silences. — She has a lot of friends and acquaintances. She just loves to surround herself with people. — She’s very critical of herself and picks apart literally everything she does. — She’s a big workaholic and it’s kind of known that she prefers it that way a lot of the time. As of late, though, she’s been needing a little more time to recharge. Probably because she’s getting old — She’s gained a lot of skills over the years, and she’s the type to become an expert at almost everything she puts her mind to. She takes a lot of pride in it as well.
