#Art is important

I love to see art, especially kink oriented art/writing, that I absolutely am not into at all - or even makes me uncomfortable! The amount of effort and care that goes into a craft when it's something the artist is so passionate (and/or horny) about is honestly a beautiful thing to behold

Like seeing stuff involving stuff that I'm not into at all, and I'm just like "what a fucking exquisite way to describe and/or show this, 10/10"

I love seeing ppl express themselves well and truly and being put outside my comfort zone has only made me appreciate the craft of it more.

“Are you done yet?” Lup asks through gritted teeth.

“The more you ask the longer Taako’s going to take.” Taako prods her shin with his foot

“How about now?”

“Yeah, no, absolutely, glad you asked actually,  cha’boy’s completely done.”

“Really?” Lup relaxes her face. ”Lemme see!”

“No, Goofus, put your face back!”

Lup sighs, but settles back into her cross legged pose and resumes the terrifying smile. “You owe me.”

“It’s worrying how well you can enunciate like that.”

“Years of practice.” She winks at him as he peers over the canvas.

“A multi-talented muse.” Taako squints at Lup, then ducks back behind his stupid tiny easel. He should probably prop it up somewhere else, but the legs hadn’t been right when they were fully extended for years, so the sofa with some structural cushions was his studio of choice. He’s applying the last few brush strokes to the teeth when Lup starts to fidget again.

“Are you done now though?”

“Just let me…” Taako looks at Lup, back at the page, and back again. “Yeah, you’re good.”

“Can I see?”

“Taako isn’t moving it. That’s what smudged it last time.”

Lup vaults unnecessarily over the back of the sofa, then runs round to stand behind him. She takes a deep, reverent breath. “Koko… It’s glorious. Your best yet. You captured the emotions so well.”

“It’s true.” Taako nods solemnly. “Cha’boy has a gift.”

“Everything your brush touches turns to gold.” Lup rests her head on his shoulder to get a closer view. He absently rubs his cheek against hers.

“Uh huh. How many gold specifically? Like 400?”

Lup snorts. “Dream big, why not six?”

“Good point, Taako needs to remember his worth.”

“Hell yeah!” Lup stands and pats him reassuringly on the back.

“Ooooh, that’s good.” Taako grabs his brush and makes a final addition.

Lup waits for him to finish. “Perfect. You’re a genius.”

I'm so moved that through the darkness and strangeness of this whole saga, the love has truly come through to the audience. all the fanart and web weaving is like oh yeah. these wretched two love each other more than anything and that's why we're really here. they made it with love and we've received it with so much love in return. kind of feels like my heart's been ripped out in the best way ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I just got a new dragon whom I’ve named, Bugsy. He’s going to be my ‘Save the bees!’ representative. Bees are important to the earth to grow new flowers and trees, plus their honey and sugars make up a lot of our daily foods. Bees are super important!

I was one of the Bungie devs affected by the layoffs. I wanted to let you know how touched I was by your Drifter/Eris piece you posted today. Thank you for that little bit of comfort.

I have made so many friends I never would have otherwise known, written over 240k words of fanfiction, and spent over 4500 hours of my life in the beautiful inspiring creation that you helped to make.  I am so very grateful for everything you have done.

Oh love, I'm still learning, I wouldn't even count myself as a good artist. I do appreciate the compliment! 💚

I'd say, keep using references, for posing, for backgrounds, for basic objects. It will learn you how perspectives work. Especially when it comes to shadowing, which I still suck at- but that's beside the point.

My secret is, just keep drawing, even if you dislike what you're drawing. Get friends who hype up your art, because it will make you feel more confident and loved. :333

there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than look a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.

a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.

if art gets better traction, then there’s an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.

within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gaza’s fundraiser. it’s a small effort in the grand scheme of things. it’s not a fix it. but it’s something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.

here is bashar. i’ve drawn him, spoken to him, and known him now for a few months. any shares help, any art helps. draw who you see, draw what you see. thanks all
