Day 22:  #mayvinylchallenge : Best Artwork | Packaging For my two million dollars, album packaging and artwork is just as important as the music pressed into the biscuit. It's the theme, the presentation, the extra. I have been fascinated with album artwork most of my life. Almost had to question my friendship with a person when they claimed I was a snob for requiring the artwork be present with the vinyl itself. Don't get me wrong, I got what they were saying. And if that's how you roll, swag. For me, I gotta have all the dopeness. While searching for this choice, I came across several candidates. They ranged from elegant, trippy, home-based and fun. I chose fun. Fun always wins. And while the album label was featured on Day 14, the entire thing deserves to be exposed. The package I am showing off (hehehe...sorry I'm a child) is: 🔺️ Duck Sauce - Quack [2014] What do you get when you pair DJs Armand Van Helden and A-Trak together? You get the fun electronic dancey funk of Duck Sauce. With tracks like "Barbara Streisand", "It's You" and "Radio Stereo", it's just a good time through and through. And if you've ever seen their video for "Big Bad Wolf", you can see how far they are willing to take the humor. The video is out of my nightmares, but in the best dream way possible! Featuring two orange translucent discs that makes me want to eat them (seriously, they look like candy), and a thick booklet of artwork and liner notes, the package is simple, glossy and full of subversive fun! Witness Jesus, Aleister Crowley, the Mona Lisa, Einstein and George Washington get the duck treatment. Zany! So put on some pants and dance to this album! But make sure not to zip up the face down there. (Just watch the video).
