Behold, this gremlin. This absolute menace. This puntable child of a Pokemon. ...No, I'm not saying all Marshadow are puntable, just this one in particular. Normal version down below!

To justify combining God of War with Pokemon on my Yu-Gi-Oh! blog, probably!
Because as usual, I've been trying to think of what 'mons my dad (Kratos) would use, as well as like Atreus and maybe some others.
The team Kratos uses would depend on which Kratos we're talking about. I don't think Norse Era Kratos would use the exact same team as Greek Era Kratos. But more than that, I don't think the team he uses before his pledge to Ares would be the same one he uses by the time he kills Zeus. I'll probably make three or four teams for him--one for before he's slain his loved ones, one for the end of the Greek Era, and either one for the entire Norse Era or one for each game.
I also kinda want to use Doublade as a stand-in for the Blades of Chaos, but I'm not sure how well it works since the BoC are heavy on the fire and Doublade is a Steel/Ghost-Type. Maybe his could be a regional variant that's Fire/Steel, but changes to its proper typing once he kills his family with it while maintaining its fiery properties? It'd never evolve into Aegislash, of course. It would be stronger than the average Doublade, though, given it was forged by the gods.
Every Spartan probably has a Falinks. I shouldn't have to explain that one :P I think Kratos would also have a Zangoose because of the red stripe and white fur the 'mon has. The 'mon maybe also belonged to Deimos before he was taken to the realm of the dead. Spartans in general would probably have mostly Fighting-Types, for obvious reasons, so I guess the rest of Kratos's team would be that. So with that in mind... Kratos Team in earlyish Greek Era: Falinks, Zangoose, Machamp, Blaziken, Kommo-o, and Poliwrath. Poliwrath is replaced by Grecian Doublade once Kratos make his oath to Ares. (And yes, Poliwrath is there because WRATH lmao.)
His team would change after everything that happens across the Greek Era games, including the changing of Grecian Doublade into Kalosian Doublade. Still the same 'mon, but Type is affected by the actions it's forced to participate in. I think he'd have Legendaries and the like on his team by now as well. So... God-Killer Kratos Team: Falinks, Doublade (shiny btw), Marshadow, Yveltal (because it's canonically a destroyer), Celebi (taken from the Sisters of Fate), and Groudon (given to him by Gaia).
Other Greek Era Pokemon-related stuff:
Calliope has a Jigglypuff.
Most Gods have teams themed on Types, much like Gym Leaders and Elite 4 members. Zeus is Electric, Poseidon is Water, Hades is Ghost, Hephaestus is Steel, both Ares and Helios are Fire, etc. In a way, Kratos killing them is like he's collecting their badges lmao
Aphrodite is an exception to the above. Her team is "waifu" Pokemon like Salazzle, Lopunny, Tsareena, Gardevoir, and so on.
Athena never has to use her team because she's dead before she gets a chance, but hers is made of Psychic-Types, and almost every one is a Legendary/Mythical.
Pandora has a Litwick and a Riolu, the latter of which was a gift from her father Hephaestus. (She herself is also the Pokemon Magearna, maybe.) She's visited by Jirachi while in captivity, who helps restore her hope.
Deimos borrows half of Kratos's team when they fight against Thanatos, because obviously the guy wouldn't have Pokemon while being tortured for decades.
Moving on to Norse Era Kratos, first game. Doublade would be hidden in the floorboards of his home, just like the Blades of Chaos in canon, until he needs to retrieve them to save Atreus. Faye would've had Pokemon as well, but she wouldn't keep them in balls and would send them away when her death is imminent so they could be free. Atreus also has Pokemon, though the ones he has would also change between games. Because wolves :P
Anyway, the only Pokemon from the Greek Era I could see Kratos holding onto would probably be Falinks, though it wouldn't be the same exact one given the amount of time that passed. A descendant of the original. Falinks would most likely be every Spartan soldier's first Pokemon and it's the one 'mon that's been with him since the beginning. Besides, if he tried to ditch it, it would probably follow him, anyway, as would at least one set of its kids. He wouldn't have Legendaries or the like, because that would draw attention that he doesn't want. And while I recognize the Leviathan Axe was originally Faye's, I still want to give him Kleavor as a reference to it, though he'd probably also have the actual weapon for plot reasons. (I can maneuver around plot reasons for replacing the Blades with Doublade A LOT easier than I can the Axe.) Overall, his team would be made up of useful 'mons for day-to-day life and protecting his family. Early Norse Era Kratos Team: Falinks, Kleavor, Haxorus, Golurk, Lucario (knows Heal Pulse), and Incineroar. Golurk sidelines itself when Doublade is needed for Helheim. Kid Atreus Team, because why not: Dartrix (evolves into Decidueye during the journey to Jotunheim), Perrserker (gift from Faye, akin to her knife in canon), Morgrem, and Rockruff (also evolves, into Dusk Form). He doesn't have a full six yet because he's child who hasn't gone outside of the area around his house yet.
Come Ragnarok, both Kratos and Atreus would have their teams change, since it's been three years AND the world is in peril. Survival necessitates adaptation, after all. I think Yveltal might come seeking out Kratos again, feeling they're needed, but senses how much Kratos has changed and they gladly accepts being rejected and wishes him luck in his endeavors. So he has the chance to bring in a destroyer, but doesn't :P He will have mostly Legends/Myths, though, even if it's because they approach him to be on his team. Here's my thoughts for his final team, as well as Wolf Boi Atreus. Ragnarok Kratos Team: Kleavor, Reshiram, Marshadow (came back, is calmer than they were when they helped Kratos kill the Greek Gods), Solgaleo, Shaymin (Sky Forme), and Zeraora. Doublade is also there as always and Kratos uses it as well, and yes it's breaking the rules but idgaf. If Volo can do it, so can Kratos! Teen Atreus Team: Lycanroc (Dusk Form), Zacian (Crowned Sword), Zamazenta (Crowned Shield), Rayquaza (capable of Mega Evolution, allusion to the World Serpent of course), Grimmsnarl, and Decidueye. I wanted to give him both forms of Zoroark, too, but most of his team needs to be wolves, imo, and I was aiming for balance I guess.
Other Norse Era Pokemon-related stuff:
Mimir had Pokemon before he was fused with a tree, which were taken from him. He doesn't know where they are or what may have happened to them, though given it was Odin who took them, he fears the worst. They were Whimsicott, Chatot, and Sableye.
Mimir claims to have befriended Enamorus, but very few believe that Pokemon even exists, let alone that he could've charmed her.
Freya's team in the first Norse game lacks Legends/Myths and relate more to her designation as the Witch. Hatterene, Braixen, and Mismagius, plus Torterra for Chaurli and a White Flower Florges to help with foraging/planting, with her final 'mon being a Blissey for healing reasons.
Freya's Ragnarok team is all Legends/Myths. Articuno, Moltres, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Xerneas, and Mewtwo (once belonged to Baldur :3). Mostly birds because she can turn into one, which in this universe would be like Talonflame or one of the pre-evos of it.
Odin's team would also be all the OP 'mons, but they'd also be Shadow Pokemon, a fact no one would know until Ragnarok actually comes. AND he has Eternatus in its strongest form in the final battle. He still loses.
Thor's got all Electric-Types, much like Zeus. He intends to give his (shiny) Zeraora to Thrud before he...Thrud still gets Zeraora, eventually. Thrud's team is made up of mostly Fighting-Types, btw. And kinda related, Sif has both a Hatterene and Grimmsnarl because...hair.
Baldur's team would be all the 'mons that are good at avoiding damage. Actually, his team would probably be "hacked" by magic to all have the Wonder Guard Ability as long as he is invulnerable to all damage. Maybe I'll make up a team for him at some point.
Side note, Alphas roam the Nordic realms.
Heimdall spams evasion and accuracy moves since most people don't have moves that never miss. Also Protect, Detect, and the like. Probably has Toxic on every 'mon as well.
Angrboda has a Smeargle--almost every Giant has at least one--as well as a Bouffalant (Jalla :P) and a Ninetales. Ironwood is full of a lot of Lycanrocs of all forms, Sawsbucks, Florgeses and their pre-evos, and all sorts of other 'mons that don't belong to anyone. Mew is there, too, and is partly responsible for Atreus's trips to and from Ironwood.
Brok and Sindri each have three Pokemon, though they're no so much for battling as they are for helping with blacksmith stuff. Brok's 'mons are Muk (because Brok's gross lol), Carkoal (heating up and tending the forge), and Gurdurr (holding shit in place). Sindri's are Gardevoir (Psychic means no need to get hands dirty), Alolan Raichu (electric-powered mechanisms plus benefits of Psychic), and Excadrill (for excavating). Brok also had "Fucking Gratitude" for a while, who was a Numel or Camerupt, but you know what happened to her haha. A Tinkaton likes to show up and help every now and then, because hammering and reworking metal is what she does.
That's all I got, which is far, far too much for me, a humble ygo blogger, to have done for two unrelated games. I started this last night shortly after making the original post and am just now finishing it, so...
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
If GoW and Yu-Gi-Oh! existed in the same universe and Kratos managed to survive to modernish times and chose to play the very important children's card game...
idk what deck he'd run, but I do know it'd be capable of curbstomping any kind of God card.
Mimir (he'd obviously still be with Kratos) learns the card lore but gets absolutely pissed that there's archetypes related to Norse mythology and it's mostly Aesir. He respects the Valkyrie archetype, though. And while the card doesn't look anything like his beloved, he'd keep a copy of Valkyrie Sigrun for sentimental reasons :3
...Why did I make this post?

@marshie-daily and @a-shiny-marshadow inspired me to create my own Marshadow OC (?). I created her since a long time ago, but those were silly pencil doodles. She still doesn’t have a name. Would you like to suggest some names? I’m not good at this.
EDIT: Marshie’s mod suggested me the name “Ares”, and I think it fits perfectly to her, so from now on that will be her name.
#Also sorry for the quality#I just don't feel very confident about my drawings#I haven't begun the requests I have right now#I'm very sorry for that xc#I hope next week I will be able to finish them#ares the marshadow

Name: Kratos
Trainer Card Number: 447
Gender: Male
Series Of Origin: God of War
Type Specialty: Ghost/Fighting
Spiritomb: The original killing of his family under Ares’ control
Machamp: I MEAN
Aegislash: His original weapon were swords
Marshadow: I mean it fits the theme of the “Ghost of Sparta” plus he’s a God so I can see him getting a mythical
Beartic: His relationship with Atreya who’s half frost giant and he basically becomes a “Father Figure” in the loosest term of the word
Alolan Marowak: Him overcoming there deaths and atoning for it and becoming a “better” person

Here's a lil' Joltik explorer to brighten your afternoon! His name's Spindle, and he comes from the same roleplay server that brought forth Ares the Marshadow and Abda the (formerly-) Durant. It's long-since stopped, but I adore all the characters that I wound up creating for them. Here, he's exploring a more familiar setting from the Pokemon Games: Chargestone Cave in Unova! Or possibly Chargestone Cavern in the Terarium, which is more in line with his desire to explore new locales. ...Oh? I've already shared a Spindle before? Yeah, that Spindle grew organically from this Spindle, like how Abda grew from a Durant character with the same name. Though there's another version of the him that serves as an intermediary between the two, which I might post at some point.
