today, during my stroll, i noticed

a crack in the pavement,

and down this vast precipice i Saw

a vast unexplored territory,

a hidden country right beneath our feet.

i lowered myself and peeked through

the keyhole

and Saw a small universe:

ants and their herculean strength

building a kingdom out of sticks,

spiders creating museums full of their

silky tapestries

and ladybugs exhibiting their fashionable dotted coats.

i even caught mischievous fairies, slumbering under dried leaves

on pillows of moss.

Saw a planet where each bits of rain

is akin to a hurricane

and tufts of dandelions to an Amazonian forest.

Perhaps, if an habitant of that kingdom took a break from their work to look up, they would have caught sight

of butterflies like planes piercing through the sky

and, on that day,

of a giant, a benevolent creature

or perhaps some sort of god, looking back at them with awe in its eyes

But I think that there is a core in everyone, and everything, that comes-originally-from the natural world.

I think that this is why people are fundamentally good.

I think your heart is the layers you build around this piece of the earth we are all given; and through the core, we can understand each other. I want my heart to be shallow. I want to be able to see the light pouring through a small layer of vines held gingerly against my soul. To be open, and transparent.

I think this is the closest i get to faith.
