Halooo, kerasa gak kerasa hampir masuk bulan kedepalan di tahun 2024! Semoga di keadaan yang serba-embuh, penuh ketidakpastian, dan dijejali segala macam ina-inu kehidupan, gak membuatmu sedih dan hilang semangat untuk bertahan.

Sudah ngapain aja selama ini? Mulai dari menyusun resolusi , membayangkan rencana-rencana kedepan dan jadi lebih baik untuk segalanya. Sampai pas bangun tidur lupa semua, cengar-cengir dan berpikir alhamdulillah masih hidup, kanyaknya udah semua ya. Tapi, gak papa. Yang penting sehat dan bahagia. Dan, bertakwa tentu saja.

Ardhito berdamai dengan depresi di masa lalu dengan membagikan lagu ini. Yangmana selanjutnya bisa jadi kita akan tumbuh dengan cerita kita hari ini lalu berperan sebagai orang yang bijak mendengarkan dan pandai memberi masukan.

Kesalahan di masa lalu, kekesalan yang disimpan sendirian, keputusasaan pada keputusan, hingga arogansi untuk menyelesaikan semuanya sendiri. "Kenapa hidup begini" atau "bagaimana bisa hidup serumit ini", padahal kalau dipikir-pikir, ya kenapa tidak? Kita hanyalah pemeran. Tidak pernah ada yang bilang bahwa hidup akan sempurna tanpa kegagalan. Kalau hidup terus baik-baik saja, bagaimana kita bisa jadi hamba yang senantiasa berharap hanya kepadaNya?

Okay, so here’s the thing: I literally just started posting fics in October, so I have no business doing a wrap-up. But when have I ever let “having no business” stop me? Exactly. So here we are.

Let’s talk about 2024, aka The Year That Tried to Kill Me. It started all cute and hopeful, and then February said, “Watch this,” and yeeted me straight into the abyss. By March, I was officially doing the crying-in-the-shower Olympics (gold medalist here). Honestly, my mental health decided to host its own reality show, complete with plot twists, backstabbers, and… commercial breaks, apparently?

And don’t even get me started on my birthday. Like, crying on my birthday is practically tradition at this point, but this year? Oh, it was a performance. A symphony of sobs.

But hey, there were good moments too. I made some friends (hi, you lovely weirdos). Lost some too. All in all, I’m just happy this year is over.

2025, please be nice. And if you’re not, at least make it funny.

Mick was walking Angie around the block when he first saw you. Clearly, a foreigner visiting another country for the first time. It was cute, Mick thought when he saw you clearly struggling with the language here.

It was the next day when he finally decided to come up to you and ask if you need any help. It was also the day he found out that you just moved here to attend a college nearby. “What major are you taking?” he asked while he helped you get used to the neighbourhood.

“Aviation engineering,” you said with a small smile. It wasn’t every day that you got approached by an attractive nice guy who happens to be your neighbour.

“I’m Mick by the way,” he introduced himself. And that was the moment you two become inseparable.

“This is for you, it reminded me of you when I first saw it,” Mick said, handing you a bouquet of flowers he got from the market nearby. It wasn’t a rare occasion now for Mick to give you random things that reminded him of you. Crystals, flowers, foods, anything you named it. It was 6 months ago that he was a stranger, but now, he’s a constant presence in your life.

“Thank you, this is beautiful,” you said, smiling into the flower trying to hide your blush. It was 3 months ago when you started to have feelings for him. It wasn’t difficult to be comfortable with him, and it was even easier to grow feelings for him. He is a perfect gentleman who always takes care of you in a foreign country. He is the one who helps you make this new place feel like home.

“How is your assignment?” he said, leaning into you, trying to get a better look at your laptop. You tried to answer him, you really did, but no words came out of your mouth when you feel his body so close to you, warmth engulfing your whole entire body.

“Cat got your tongue?” he teased with a smirk, and you can’t help but smack him and laugh.

It was now 8 months later since your first meeting with Mick, it took Mick 8 months since he first saw you to finally confess his feelings. Your relationship couldn’t be more perfect, yes there are, of course, trials and errors you could say as this is your first-ever relationship. But he has been perfect, guiding you along the way.

It wasn’t hard for him to fall in love with you, a small crush growing into a deep love. It wasn’t hard for him to love you, loving you was as easy as breathing he said.

It’s a Saturday afternoon when you went on a date with Mick. It was perfect, well, everything about him is perfect for you. He took you out for lunch, then went back into your house to watch some shitty rom-com movie while cuddling. You were sleepy and you were not trying to hide it. You just finished your final exam for this semester and you are sleep deprived.

“Just go to sleep sweetheart, I’ll be here when you wake up,” you heard Mick say softly into your ear.

And when you wake up in the morning, finally feeling a little bit better than the night before, you couldn’t help but smile when you saw Mick standing in your kitchen trying to not burn the egg he made for you. He stayed true to his words.

First I heard this song on TikTok! It played so many times in my FYP. Ringing repeatedly in my head. And the longer it goes on, the more comfortable to sing the chorus.

I was a bit surprised that the singers were from Wijaya 80, one of whom was Ardhito Pramono. The song sounds like an old song, the lyrics are also light, very relatable to everyday life, and I really like the music. Like in the Utha Likumahuwa era, the 80s.

Cause of this song, I ended up listening to all of their singles. And it's great to listen to while working.

Lagu ini tak sengaja terputar setelah autoshuffle dari lagu pilihan pertama. Seperti biasa, ritual sebelum bekerja adalah membuka spotify lalu pilah pilih lagu yang ku suka. Kalau bosan ya tinggal cari satu lagu lalu membiarkannya memutarkan lagu random lainnya. Walaupun kadang kesal sama iklan karena pakenya gratisan hahaha. Saat tiba di lagu ini, langsung teringat "alone again"-nya Gilbert O'Sullivan. Buru-buru cek spotify karena penasaran siapakah gerangan yang menyanyikan lagu enak ini. Ternyata Ardhito, ya ampun! Tak butuh waktu lama, langsung saja aku tambahkan ke salah satu playlist yang kubuat sendiri.

Semingguan lagu ini on-repeat dan mungkin akan menjadi song of the month di Januari. Kita abaikan dulu cerita di MV ini. Having someone yang bisa kita lihat saat waking up itu harus disyukuri. Kalau Ardhito disini Ara (sang putri).

Hal buruk yang terjadi bukanlah apa-apa setelah kita bangun dan masih bisa melihat orang yang kita cinta. Menceritakan hari-hari kita dengan penuh semangat dan mendengarkan ceritanya dengan semangat yang sama. Membagikan meme lucu, mengeluarkan segala gombalan dan jokes receh tanpa peduli cringe lalu kita sama-sama tertawa. Mendengarkan ceritanya tentang hal-hal yang dia suka. Hal-hal yang belum pernah kita sentuh sebelumnya. Menemaninya membeli peralatan motor (mungkin) dan ngangguk sok ngerti pas dijelasin. Membuatnya selalu tertawa karena dalam tawa-nya kita bahagia.
