Bulkhead:

the big guy loves art, having been exposed to his fair share of it by miko, and is very encouraging when it comes to your projects

he might not get some of the nuances or meanings of the things you make, but he tries - oftentimes making you laugh a bit at the sheer amount he misses. it’s endearing though, and you appreciate the effort

too fidgety to sit and watch you do anything for too long, but he’ll offer to drive you to a vista for some inspiration while he does his usual scouting routes, miko tagging along of course. she’ll probably bring her sketchbook with her and sit next to you and draw, chattering the entire time while blasting some music from her ipod, offering you one of her earbuds

Arcee:

similar to ratchet she takes a while to get used to you, a little cold at first to your attempts at friendliness

she notices how happy you seem to make everyone else and eventually makes a legitimate pass at being friendly despite how awkward it feels

but with how eagerly you accept it she doesn’t feel as bad, sighing in relief as you immediately start filling her in on how much you’ve enjoyed your time with the autobots

she’s not much of a conversationalist (especially when it comes to humans) so your chattiness is almost a relief - not having to keep up fake interest and energy with someone puts her in a more comfortable position; especially since you’re not one to comment on it like others tend to

he’ll actually try and mimic some of your art on the walls of hidden ditches where he and rafael hang out, excitedly bringing you along to show off his latest work and buzzing happily when you praise it

will eventually, with your encouragement, try and make something original - he ends up finding it pretty soothing and an easier way to feel understood; communicating his feelings without words can be unsurprisingly helpful for someone who can’t use any of his own

you’ll spend hours hanging out and working on your stuff - he likes when you help him with his own art, adding your own brushstrokes to the concrete wall

he’ll let you sit up on his shoulder just to watch him make whatever he feels like making, or even just taking you on joyrides in the desert where he doesnt need to worry about anything going wrong

while it’s usually you, him and raf hanging out he does enjoy spending solo time with you - usually in silence or one-sided conversations, but you understand each other well enough without words

TFHAU Hairstyles pt.1

Ratchet is my all time fav, so I drew a lot of hairstyle changes for him

S1 design is actually my very first design of his hair, so I wanted to honor that!

S2 is my fav design for his hairstyle, and also glasses, yeah, I feel like during the og s2 he'd become comfortable enough to use human stuff. And his hair is a bit messier, too.

S3 is my hc tied to his stay on the Nemesis. Y'know, long hair needs some time, and when you're out of time working for your enemy, well! Also I feel like Knockout would be kind enough to cut his hair, so no one has the will to pull on it Megatron in all caps

After is him after the events of the tfp movie, his hair is a bit grown out from S3 (don't mind the long orange locks, they're cute idc)

Idk if S-E one needs an explanation, he tied his hair so it wouldn't get in the way, that's all

Starscream's hairstyles are a lot simpler....

S2 bish is HOMELESS. Literally. No time for hair. No.

Arcee! I don't feel like she would change her hairstyle often, but she definitely cut her hair after Cliffjumper died. Everyone here is traumatized, what!!

My ask is whats your fave transformer and from what universe?

Ah, no worries! I'm glad to hear my blog is filled with scrumptious content! About who is my favourite tansformer. Well, it would be easier to answer who isn't my favourite ifbvkdjfv

I'm a TFP girlie through and through. Prime has been my comfort show since like 2011 and I continue to rewatch it year after year even now. I have indulged in other Transformers media, too, most notably the Bay movies, War for Cybertron, Robots in Disguise and the OG series, tho nothing would come even close to my love for TFP. I truly do think this is the best Transformers incarnation in franchise ever created.

About the fav character (aside from the obvious picks like Optimus and Megatron), this is mega hard for me because all of them are so good dfhvbihvfb. I think I could narrow it down to a few, neither is placed higher or lower than the other because I love them all for different reasons.

Ratchet. Absolutely love this grumpy old fart. He's what started my love for the "grumpy character who pretends they don't care but actually care A LOT" character archetype. He's everything I love and nothing I don't, plus I do think that Jeffrey Combs was made to be his VA in a similar way Robert Downey jr. was born to play Iron Man

Starscream. I will be honest, it actually took me some time before I started to like his character instead of just seeing him as an annoying bootlicker. I mean, he's still an annoying bootlicker, but I came to enjoy him! OG Starscream walked so TFP Starscream could run. He's all of his old traits but amplified and made better. His scheeming, cunning nature, inability to shut up to the point the show itself calls him out for it (Operation Bumblebee) but at the same time, he's a pathetic coward. A wet cat of a man, soggy af. I do think if the show came out in recent years that tumblr would have a field day with him. 10/10 I miss Starscreams like him

Smokescreen. This may or may not be a hot take because he's apparently pretty unpopular with the fandom?? At least he was in like 2012-2015 when I was most active in the fandom. I actually really do enjoy his recklessness and immaturity, it makes him feel more like a youngster that's yet to see the horrors of war. I love how quickly he grows throughout the episodes when he comes to realise their fight isn't about personal glory, it's about survival and about doing what is right. 9/10 because I hate the updated painjob he got in season 3

Miko. Also kind of a hot take, since she seems to be the least favourite among the kid trio. I gotta be honest, TFP is the only Transformers incarnation where I actually like the human companions, and Miko I love the most. She's reckless and bold and immature, like any "punk" teenager of her age would be, and I also absolutely adore the bond she has with Bulkhead.

KnockOut. My first ever experience with a character that was so violently queer-coded it rearanged by neural pathways. Loved him since his very first scene. The sass, the execution, his mad doctor persona, obsession with looks, surprisingly scheeming nature, he's just so full of personality. I also love how he's actually canonically married to BreakDown. My only gripe with the character is that I wished he was depicted to mourn BreakDown more instead of, like, just mentioning he's annoyed that he now has nobody to buff him. But also this was a pre-Steven Universe show back when queer characters weren't as prominent in kids media, so I get why it wasn't implimented. I'm still salty about it though

Arcee. Arcee I had to grow to love, and it didn't happen until several years after the show has ended. At the start, I found her to be a deeply unenjoyable character, grumpy and cold and dismissive towards everyone (and especially Jack) and not in the fun way Ratchet was. However, as I aged, I came to realise that she's not just being an asshole, she's grieving. This is one of the key reasons why I love TFP. It tackles serious topics like death and grief very well for an animated kids show that was mostly made to promote a toy brand, and Arcee's character really shines here. I deeply enjoy seeing her come out of her shell after Cliffjumper's death and slowly form a deep loving bond not only with Jack, but with everyone else too. Also how she helps Miko out with her own grief after Bulkhead gets seriously injured. You know what that is? Growth. Nothing but growth and healing for my sassy two-wheeler.

Bro, this sentence is burned into my memory. Forever. It altered my brain chemisty, I swear. Arcee and her grief over Cliff and Tailgate are so well portrayed and it makes one of the best written characters on the show and I will die on this hill!!

Team Prime reacting to some anime shows Miko brought. What would their fav anime shows would be?

Anime and cartoons are a pretty strange concept for Cybertronians. Like they have holographic animation dedicated for educational or instructional videos. But animations made just for fun? That follow a storyline like in databases? All revolving around fictional characters?

Yeah, they don't really understand it. But they do like some of the stuff that Miko shows them, even getting really into some series.

I can see Optimus really liking anime with great story lines, psychological themes, complex characters, and maybe even historically influenced. I can see him liking anime like Code Geass or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood because, despite their fantastical elements he finds the series interesting for their themes about war, the complexity morality of revenge, and the journey to strive for peace. He would also like Arslan Senki for its more historical setting.

But he also likes slice of life anime that has a slow pace and great story lines. Such as Natsume Book of Friends, with themes of spirituality and nature or Bakuman about the creative drive of individuals.

But he'll watch parts of an anime if a character vibes with him, like All-Might from My Hero Academia

Ratchet doesn't really like anime at first, he finds it really annoying how disproportionate the animation is to an actual humans anatomy but he's found a few within a genre he liked. He's a bot who likes more psychological thrillers were characters will have to think a lot through their situations, like Death Note or Monster. He can really relate with the struggle of Dr. Tenma, both as doctors who swore an oath to do no harm but now must take of arms in order to stop a malevolent forces. He's also a real fan of mysteries as well so he's hooked on Case Closed. Though he finds the since behind the damaging process impossible. He also likes watching Cells At Work when he's in the mood for something educational but light hearted. He's curious about human biology and this seems like a good way to touch on the subject.

Arcee is a fan of anime with a lot of martial arts and blade work. That why she likes anime such as Ruroni Kenshin, Demon Slayer, Assassination Classroom, and Dororo. She also likes anime with strong female protagonist like in Yona of the Dawn, Karakuri Circus, and Inuyasha.

Bumblebee and Smokescreen are real Shonen fanatics and love shows like One Piece, Black Clover, One Punch Man. Smokescreen loves My Hero Academia, especially as someone whoes striving to be a hero himself. He can see a lot of himself in Izuku, even if it's a bit of a stretch that he and Optimus have the same relationship as All-Might and Izuku. They also like sports anime, especially ones with a lot of team camaraderie. Like Haikyu, Kuroko Basketball, and Yowamushi Pedal.

Bulkhead likes all things fighting and battle. So count him in on watching shows like Dragon Ball and Hunter X Hunter with epic tournament arches. He also likes anime featuring giant robots, so count him in on some Gundam and Gurren Lagenn! With him and Miko even reenacting some scenes.

But not that he would admit it but he also likes cooking anime. The quite kind, like Cooking Papa, Isekai Izakaya "Nobu", or Restaurant To Another World. While Cybertronians have different types of energon and oil to eat, it still boggles him that human could have such a variety of nutrients at there disposal. And can prepare it so artfully. This anime makes him feel cozy.

Wheeljack has a similar taste of anime to Bulkhead but he likes his more fighting base, especially with real muscly humans. When it comes down to it human only really have their bodies to rely on when all else fails so he can appreciate a human who show to take such care in their proto form. That's why he likes shows like Baki or Megalo Box. He also enjoys shows with a lot of bloody fights like Akami Ga Kill.

Ultra Magnus is pretty picky with his anime, his taste align a lot with Optimus and Ratchets but he finds himself really enjoying really dark psychological anime with a lot of action like Psycho Pass. But he also likes shows featuring really clever characters like in Lupin the Third or The Great Pretender. Not that he approves of thiefs and swindlers bit he can appreciate those who come up with clever plans.

What I mean by tiers is the rating level of favourite a TfP character fits in with tier characters being equal in that category of personal favourite XD

How and why he compliments Bulkhead well in a Co-parent role for Miko? How the other incarnations of Wheeljack aren't actually that different and are instead more what Wheeljack was like before war and TfP universe specific shit changed him? How he's quick to adopt anyone he likes into his wrecker family but the moment anyone tries to initiate a friendship/bond he gets weird about it? The fact he's lost so many people he considered himself close with and how I wish TfP used him and Arcee to discuss how feelings are valid need to be acknowledged instead of just revenge=bad???? HOW I THINK THAT IF IT HADNT HAD TO END SUDDENLY WHEELJACK WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE ROLE OF ARCEE'S NEW PARTNER BC SOME THINGS SAID AND DONE SEEM LIKE FORESHADOWING?!? Wreck gar for the character ask thing lol

MY BELOVED. Im gonna talk about all versions of wreck gar because I literally love him.

First impressions- In TFA I cant really remember because I was so baby. I did think he was funny though!! G1 and IDW Wreck Gar I didnt care too much about because I thought they'd be like, super serious and gritty. I've never been more happy to be wrong!!

Impressions now- Gender. All 3 of them. TFA WG is so full of energy and humour, and is literally never beaten down by anything- I love love love that attitude! 🥺 Gen 1 WG genuinely means so much to me I was super excited to learn he was British like me for some reason??? And like IDW WG it makes me so unnecessarily happy to have these big biker leader guys that people look up to be so excitable and fun-loving and eccentric! Kings.

Favourite moment- For TFA the whole scene with him and Ratchet on that boat? 1. Because Ratchet is my fav character and I live vicariously through WG and 2. Because its just such a fun interaction. The fact WG turns evil for a hot second?? Its super fun. For G1, his introduction to the crew is so jarring- I still laugh at the THUNK when he's knocked tf out. It kills me. And IDW, any interaction of his with Rum Maj. They are SO cute 🥺

Idea for a story- Sort of a vague recreation of the g1 movie but with tfa kup rodimus arcee and magnus- and that following along with them meeting WG! I just think given the entirely different TFA context it would be fascinating to see how that would play out. ALSO I THINK TFA WG SHOULD MEET THE CONSTRUCTICONS ALSO.

Unpopular opinion- I'm bad at unpopular opinions so ill just say a general opinion. He's autistic!! In all continuities.

Favourite relationship- In TFA, him and Ratch for sure! Grandpa and his weird son. But romantically I think him and Scrapper are super adorable and would have a great dynamic. (Forever upset they didn't interact much at all in the ep they were working together in :(). Actually screw it him and Scrapper AND mixmaster are in a poly and have a pet dinosaur.

(And then because I'm insane i also like to ship him with Starscream)

In Gen 1 I cant remember if he had a close relationship with anyone at all?? Him and kup should have a tfa ratch and wg relationship.

And OBVS in IDW him and Rummaj. You genuinely can't get better than that. oh and underrated is detritus' relationship with him and how he wants to take over. I think that's super funny i would love to see that explored.

Favourite headcanon- ok so I had a whole idea in my head about how Junkion works and how no one technically owns anything themselves and they just mix and match parts and share bits n bobs to build their houses n ships n all sorts. Its super peaceful and WG, in all continuities, is one of the best leaders despite how eccentric he is. He has a positive outlook and everyone respects him. Specially since he can really think outside the box when things get tricky!

My Top 5 In order:

G1 Starscream- The sassiest, saltiest, most bratty, but intelligent of all Starscreams. A personal top fav forever. He was so legit. Had the BEST voice imo for any Starscream, Chris Latta was a boss, I love his unique voice for SS. This Starscream got shit done! After he was banished from the Decepticons, he washed up on a deserted island and fucking made his own combiner after stealing their chips from a prison on Cybertron, and then proceeded to beat up Megatron successfully with said combiner. And then later after the G1 Movie, after everyone else had died, Starscream fucking came back as a ghost and tricked Unicron!! !! ! - Even further, he appeared after the series ended and had an entire Beast Wars episode dedicated to this version of Starscream. He was like a lovable cockroach. 

TFA Starscream- This was a tie between IDW, and I’ll explain why in a sec. But this Starscream is great, he’s got that ambition that he had in G1, the guts to stand up, that hint of self preservation most Starscreams have, and he has a great voice to match. He was salty and sarcastic as well as incredibly sneaky. His relationship in Megatron wasn’t even as bad in this series as it usually was. He and Megatron argued with each other equally, and since this Megatron was actually competent, Starscream was made to be just as sly to match.

IDW Starscream- I really loved this Starscream back during the earlier IDW comics and the Windblade comics. That’s just about where it ends though. But let me start with the good things here. I really love his frame design in the Windblade comics, 117/10, god tier, good job Sarah Stone. After he becomes ruler of Cybertron, he actually is competent enough to pick up some of the pieces Megatron and Optimus left behind on their broken planet. Starscream, as deceitful as he can be, was actually trying to restore Cybertron back to something better than it was (Even if it was just to make himself look good, you can’t say he didn’t actually do anything good for Cybertron, he absolutely did). And then we follow this character through the whole Windblade comics and watch him and Windblade herself try to keep Cybertron together and reach out to other colonies. They work together, despite hating one another, and they even get so far as to be able to tolerate each other on occasion. Starscream grows and learns from mistakes and for once Cybertron actually isn’t so bad. Starscream literally was left to fix what ages of war had destroyed, and he did an okay job at it. I’m proud of him. - The bad things about this Starscream and why I prefer TFA over him? How they handled him in Till All Are One. I loved TAAO at first, I drew fanart for it, wrote fics, and roleplayed this Starscream. But after more time passed and the comic began to come to a close, I realized that things were going backwards? The writer, as great a job she did portraying Starscream in the Windblade comics, was regressing his character in TAAO, and that made me upset. The whole ending ruined this Starscream for me, and not just because his “True Form” was ugly as fuck lol. It was because the Starscream who was changing for the better, who was depressed, had been psychologically damaged, and was tormented with PTSD, was thrown back down into hell all over again. In the comic, they put Starscream in prison. I could argue so many other mechs who deserve to be in prison than Starscream, but it happened anyway. It was so disappointing to me to see this, as if everything Starscream actually went through in the comics was disregarded and thrown in the trash. Anyway that’s my little rant about IDW SS.

TFP Starscream- My first impressions of this Starscream were.... meh. But then I started watching more of the show and I loved him. I definitely had to get used to his voice change, from screechy to chain smoker. However, I am sad to see just how much physical abuse is used with this Starscream, as always. The fandom presents him as a huge coward, but like if you knew how abuse could affect someone, you’d realize just why Starscream acted “Cowardly” the way he did. He was also pretty small too, so I don’t blame him for not wanting to face literally anyone but small TFs like Arcee or KnockOut or whatever lol. I honestly do love this Starscream, he’s a little funky and different from the other incarnations of him, but I still like him for this show.

Armada Starscream- This Starscream was always interesting to me because he sorta began like the other Starscreams and had that ambitious nature to him, but then later on we see that he’s not very similar to the other Starscreams. He’s very noble in this show, but also plays the game to win. And this was the first time we really saw a Decepticon befriend a human or really did anything decently kind at all.  - This Starscream started off wanting Megatron’s praise and would do what his leader said, but then he realized just how shitty Megatron is! I like the wiki’s definition of this, “Starscream may have once been compassionate, he may once have known what true friendship is, but all that has been replaced, scab for scab, with the lessons of Megatron's abuse. Unwittingly, Megatron may have created a monster even he cannot ultimately control.” And I love that. He definitely can’t be controlled, but he’s also kinda lost throughout the series, switching sides. - Ultimately in the end, he sacrificed himself to save both sides. And wow, that definitely made me tear up when I first watched it. _______ Anyway, that’s the list of my top 5 favorite Starscreams and why. I know I wasn’t asked why, but I wrote it anyway. And I may be rusty on my information, because honestly I haven’t watched any of these shows or read the stuff in ages djhfgjhf

Look deeply and you *might* find their s/o 

Ironfury: I first created her for the bayverse but then got caught in the IDW continuation and the comic clearly has more in term of lore than the movies so I redesigned her from head ot toes. I wanted a big and robust character, a tank but she ended up a drill, something to go with her previous incarnation that was close to the earth element and what better than a drill, amaright ? I though it would be cool to make her a miner since they were already introduced in the comic with Megatron’s backstory. I just didn’t wanted to let go of her previous red color sheme so I made her that... “dirty red” color instead of the grey/black of Meg and Terminus. This also allowed me to difference Ironfury and Starlight that were the same color before !Starlight : Originally made for the TFPrime I wanted a tiny bot. The first design wasn’t cute and blocky enough to my taste so I redesigned. Her first appearance was based of a cute scout like helmet but with the antenna she looked more like a beetle. Now with her blades in her back she almost looks like a wasp. I wanted a very young bot because i’m a sucker for family-like relation with character and I’m good for cute! She originally had a “mother” taking car of her Gracecut, a nurse that was teaching Star how to be a good medic. But I scratched her since she was just that: a mother. She was going to be a berlin ambulance. Almost got her finished but heh... Didn’t felt a connection with the character.The fact that she’s missing her arm is directly linked with her secret backstory that i need to write/clean and write (eventually)Coredive: An other TFPrime that went through a bit redesign. She was at first a stealthy sniper but I scratched sniper (gave it to Starlight) and went with a hacker instead. I basically wanted a femme fatale kind of look to get what she wanted even by seducing if needed. And a very grey area character, where all my character end up being “nice” at the end I really wanted to try something else with Coredive. She always was a black car and was designed to be the fastest of my character. With the comic introducing the Velocitronians it was a perfect fit for Coredive. 

Cometstrike: I wanted a jet. Because all my girls were grounded (but starlight, but a chopper isn’t... fast y’know). So I made comet. At first she has a very rebellious personnality but then she sounded too much like Ironfury. I slowly changed that to a lawful character, but since i knew theer were going to be decepticons in the team I needed her to not be too lawful. Her comes the idea of a rogue Autobot. I knew I wanted her to look like an angel - queue the wings- with a very light color sheme. At first she also had a shield ans short sword, that then became a maul but then she looked too much like a Hawkgirl so I came back to the sword and made it double.Sugarush: I swear I had no idea about Riptide before creating her. I just though that a shark-alt-mode bot would be super cute! She’s slowly develloping to become a crybaby and that’s fine. She never was a hard-type of decepticon anyway. I wanted her to be fast because to me a tf job/role is intimely linked to their alt-mode and there is only so much a submarine can do. Pretty useless when no water is involved and I wanted Sugar to be about that. She knew she was limited so she worked to push her limits away. The blades on her arms came from TFPrime Arcee’s inspiration. Case let’s face it Sugar’s silly kibble on her forearm are stupid and needed a function !

Boombox: She’s the most recent of my TFOC, and mainly she was first a joke. Like “what if a tf would go extra on their alt-mode ?” I wanted to make her green at first but then, playing with hues... well huuuh... pink happenned.I don’t have much to say about her, she was a joke and definitly the one tumblr like the most... 

But the hardest thing when designing a bot: I always ALWAYS forgot to place the wheels on the bot.
