I am not surprised that Arabs in the USA loathe Biden. Especially now.
However, I am surprised at how many liked him in the previous poll. Biden always sucked.
How THE FUCK do 1/3 of Arabs polled favor Trump??? HOW‽ I mean, I get you can be republican, but... you know what, scratch that. I don't get how any Arab in the US can be either a Republican OR a Democrat, tbh. They are two side of the exact same coin.
I am not surprised by a condescending response by a white man who tried to feed the "it'll be worse under Trump" B.S. I guess a candidate truly is terrible if he *also* kills off white folk. Neither is acceptable, which is why I voted for neither party every since I could vote.

April Is Back & You Know What That Means.
Autism Awareness Month & Earth 🌎 Month
But There Is A New Month I want Introduce You All To For The Month Of April
A Month Dedicated To The Arab Muslim ☪️ 🇦🇪 Community
National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM) takes place in April. It celebrates the Arab American heritage and culture and pays tribute to the contributions of Arab Americans and Arabic-speaking Americans.
Beginning in the 1990s, Arab American heritage was celebrated sporadically in various states at different times of the year, primarily in school districts. It wasn't until 2017 when Arab America began a national initiative to coordinate all states under National Arab American Heritage Month. On April 30, 2019, Arab American organizations asked Congresswoman Debbie Dingell to issue a congressional resolution proclaiming National Arab American Heritage Month. It was then introduced to the house on April 30, 2019, and then referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. The largest and most promising achievement towards federal recognition of the month of April as the National Arab American Heritage Month was the proclamation published by the U.S. Department of State, which was accomplished on April 1, 2021, by the efforts of independent Syrian-American advocate and author, Pierre Subeh.
An identical bill was introduced in the House on May 1, 2020, to support the designation of an Arab American Heritage Month but it has not currently been passed.
Some individual states (such as the Commonwealth of Virginia) and 26 others observed April as Arab American Heritage Month early on before any federal recognition was proclaimed. It wasn't until April 19, 2021, that the first recognition on a federal level was issued, which was published as a White House letter from president Joe Biden recognizing April as the National Arab American Heritage Month, otherwise called NAAHM.
APRIL IS
ARAB AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH 🇦🇪🇸🇦☪️🕋🕌🇪🇬🇩🇿🇮🇱🇮🇷🇲🇦🇪🇹🇵🇰

"Dreamers" by Jungkook ft. Fahad Al Kubaisi
“정국 Jung Kook (of BTS) Featuring Fahad Al Kubaisi - Dreamers | FIFA World Cup 2022 Soundtrack.” YouTube, YouTube, 22 Nov. 2022, www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwzkfMmNMpM.
A well known Korean artist, Jungkook, had the opportunity to sing for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and he had included a Qatari singer, Fahad Al Kubaisi, in the song. Al Kubaisi sang in Arabic about filling the world with peace, love, and unity to fight through challenges we go through to achieve our dreams. I include this song because we may know that Jungkook is a worldwide respected artist. With the opportunity he had to sing for the World Cup in Qatar, he filmed his music video in Qatar and incorporated Western influences into the song and video. By providing a positive image on the Middle East, and including an Arab artist, there is a different image that not everyone sees on Western media.
Huda Kattan, CEO of Huda Beauty
“Huda Kattan - Arab American of the Day.” Arab America, 18 Jan. 2017, www.arabamerica.com/arabamericans/huda-kattan/.
Huda Kattan is the founder and creator of Huda Beauty, which is makeup brand based on Middle Eastern beauty traditions and styles. By incorporating Middle Eastern culture into makeup products, Kattan is making an impact on the beauty industry in the Middle East. She not only influences Western culture with the makeup culture from the Middle Eastern, but she breaks stereotypes for entrepreneurs in the Middle East for empowerment and innovation in her culture. This is a major thing because Huda Beauty is a a major beauty brand globally, making it a respected and influential brand on Middle Eastern culture.
The Kite Runner by Khalad Hosseini
The Kite Runner is a novel I have read in high school and it was one of my favorite books I read in school. This novel portrays Afghan Islamic cultures, traditions, and history, specifically the Soviet invasion, which overall provides a bigger understanding of Islam and Muslim groups and their cultures. The experiences Amir, the main character, undergoes throughout the story, it addresses issues, misconceptions, and stereotypes of the Afghan culture and Islamic traditions.

Their Wrongs, My Rights
In 6th grade ELA class, we had 30 minutes to develop a story that had a plot, rising action, climax, and resolution. Being not very good at coming up with these themes during that age took me ten minutes to start. I finally picked the first animal I saw hanging in the classroom, a monkey. He was my main character. From what I remember, the story goes as so, Mr. Monkey is preparing a party for his friend. All the monkeys help decorate and prepare for the party. Ten minutes on the clock left to wrap up my story. The monkey makes a gift that he is sure will surprise his friend; when his friend opens the box, BOOM! Confetti popped out, and there was a party in the box. A day later, I get called down to the guidance counselor's office. He tells me that he knows this story I wrote because the teacher brought it to his attention. They felt that I was making terroristic threats subliminally. He told me that they do not encourage violence. Mind you I was the only Muslim student in the entire school at the time. I was confused and felt ashamed and guilty again. This time they called home, Sarah talked to me about it. I was scared, but all she said was be careful what you write next time; these people like to pick at us in any way. It didn't matter; I still felt wrong and embarrassed.

How to Disappoint Yourself
How to Disappoint Yourself
I´ve always tried to look at the good in people, maybe even sometimes the best in people. It was a trait that I was even proud of, I thought it was a good thing to look beyond flaws and mistakes. To be more accurate, to ALWAYS look beyond flaws. There are times where looking at the good in people isn’t  the best thing you can do. Especially when it makes you oblivious to other traits.  As much as…

Paula Gunn Allen was a #NativeAmerican poet, literary critic, activist, professor & novelist. Of #mixedrace #EuropeanAmerican, Native American & #ArabAmerican descent, she identified with her mother's people, the Laguna Pueblo & her childhood years. She drew from its oral traditions for her fiction poetry & also wrote numerous essays on its themes. She edited four collections of Native American traditional stories & contemporary works & wrote two biographies of Native American women. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico Allen grew up in Cubero, New Mexico, a Spanish-Mexican land grant village bordering the Laguna Pueblo reservation. Of #mixed #Laguna #Sioux #Scottish & #Lebanese American descent, she has always identified most closely with the Laguna, among whom she spent her childhood & upbringing. Her dad, E. Lee Francis, was Lebanese American and her mother, was Scotch-Laguna Pueblo. In addition to her literary work, in 1986 she published a major study on the role of women in #AmericanIndian traditions, arguing that Europeans had de-emphasized the role of women in their accounts of native life because of their own patriarchal societies. It inspired other scholarly works by feminist & Native American writers. She described the central role women played in many Native American cultures, including roles in political leadership, which were either downplayed or missed entirely by explorers & scholars from male-dominated European cultures. She has inspired the #Indigenous feminism movement. Her novel, The Woman Who Owned The Shadows (1983), features the woman Ephanie Atencio, the #mixedblood daughter of a mixed-blood mother who struggles with social exclusion & the obliteration of self. She was awarded an American Book Award in 1990 by the Before Columbus Foundation, for editing short stories by American Indian writers, the Native American Prize for Literature, the Susan Koppelman Award & a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas in 2001. In 1999, the Modern Language Association awarded her the J. Hubbell Medal for American Literature. 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇱🇧 #mixedgirl #womenshistorymonth https://www.instagram.com/p/B-adMELFbME/?igshid=1f6yx1akhrlur

Arab American Festival Nails
This nail design was inspired by the rich, diverse, unique cultures of the Arab people. I recently launched my own Arabic Calligraphy / Print line titled IhsanIshan Design. Ihsan - Beauty in Arabic, Ishan - Omnipresent in Sanskrit

I’m Hindu, Indian American (born and raised in California & NYC) but I do Arabic/Islamic Calligraphy. Some find it odd,  others interesting!  Why Arabic Calligraphy? I was the head designer for the Metropolitan Museum for close to 5 years, the Islamic galleries reopened in 2011. I wanted to learn an art form that ties all “Islamic” cultures together. For example Moroccan Islamic Art and Indian Islamic Art look very different! The art form of Arabic Calligraphy is found throughout the Islamic art world from decorating houses of worship to transcribing holy books, a language of faith. Also, I studied Communication Design at Parsons, I am a huge type nerd!  I have a degree in Arabic Calligraphy from NYU.
Rooted in tradition with modern/luxe touches (I’ve worked for years in the luxury fashion industries) my line aims to educate the public about our beautiful “brown” diverse cultures and religions, each piece has a unique story/concept behind it. I call it the “American Silk Road” Get it? Interexchange of ideas and concepts!
I was asked to participate by the Arab American Association of NYC in their annual bazaar. They were fascinated by the fact that I am not Arab or Muslim but I do Arabic/Islamic calligraphy. I was received with affection, warmth, and smiles. I felt very welcomed and loved! Fantastic day!
This design inspired by traditional embroidery designs from the Levant region of the Arab world. Geometric shapes with additional ornamental elements for texture/depth. Whole process 3 hours.

The talented @primehunterdesigns and I sat down and planned this one together💕. In Middle Eastern and North African cultures, women are forbidden to ride bikes and horses because they fear the women will lose their virginity. Obviously this is false. There is no logic in this reasoning.. It's just another way to prevent women from getting around and being independent. This is why in countries like Saudi, women are not allowed to drive. So, we decided to make fun of this idea..😋 #middleeasternwomen #arabwomen #northafrican #northafrica #easternculture #eastern #arabamerican #arabamerican https://www.instagram.com/p/B1fLWdQHwRw/?igshid=y4y7kw1p6l5s

Residue in the Melting Pot
They say I look Puerto Rican
When my hair is long, dark, and curly,
But when it’s long and straight
I “gotta be Italian from Sicily.”
When it’s blonde, they say
I’m probably French Or an Austrian
“With East European blood”
But when it’s short, black, and wavy,
I might be mixed or ‘redboned.’
They say I could be Native American,
Thanks to my high cheekbones;
or Indian due to my large, dusky eyes.
They say my freckles throw them off entirely.
When they ask me my name,
I say “Najwa.”
“That’s unusual, where are you from?”
“Rocky Mount, North Carolina.”
“I mean before that.”
I pause and cock my head.
“My mother?”
They are unsatisfied with my answers
Their faces contort
“Where are your parents from then?”
“They’re Palestinian.”
“Oh really? I would have never thought you were Arab if it wasn’t for your name.”
“I guess I’m sneaky like that.”
“It must be interesting to be Arab in these times.”
“How so?”
They pause.
“Well you don’t look Arab, so you have that going for you.”
“Just change your name and you’re set!”
“Am I?”
Even the Arabs aren’t sure what to do with me. I don’t look Arab to them either, not until I tell them my name.

“He swings in the night, and she beside him on the other swing. They swing in opposite directions, only to meet in the middle, in passing. It is a friendship, but she is his beloved, his adoration. Close as she is, she remains elusive forever. This incident of “opposite swings” serves as a grander metaphor for the themes of this collection of poems: heartbreak, assimilation, isolation, and stark contrast. Here is a young man—a Lebanese immigrant, a devout Believer, a helpless lover—tormented by unrequited love and a foreign, rejecting culture. With tender grace and colliding contrast, Charafeddine’s poems blend the surging tsunamic passion of his broken Middle-Eastern spirit with the tacit craft of the English form. The photographs in the book, which serve to enhance the poems, are equally masterful.” Yousif Alqamoussi Thank you @yalqam Get your copy today on amazon: bit.ly/oppositeswings #oppositeswings #theoppositeswings #wpoetry #wissampoetry #poetry #poems #arabamerican #wcharaf https://www.instagram.com/p/BwBf0c2FwzM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=bvpor035ib1r

English Language meets German Language
English Language meets German Language
If you read my blog post “America meets Germany”, you know that I moved from the US to Germany. Which means my mother language is not the spoken language of the country anymore….which sucks. Even though it’s beautiful that now I am learning a third language and trying to adapt to this country, it still sucks sometimes. It’s just hard, you know?!  The German language is REALLY hard. Which makes…
