Honestly? Yes. Having been through some downright horrible situations, what might have been uncomfortable or frightening in the past doesn't phase her quite so much anymore. A stranger yelling in her face and calling her all the names under the sun rolls off like water off a duck's back, Khare not really taking it to heart. He's just having a bad day and is venting off steam, no big deal. Passive aggressive insults and snide remarks? Whatever. Even if she does catch onto the hidden (or not so hidden) jabs, it's hard to get upset over it when she's got bigger things to worry about. She can look at both sides of an argument and weight them up impartially, though she'll likely be inclined to favour somebody she's closer to or likes more simply because hey, that's what most people do, right?

also actually fascinating thing that just occurred to me- the way that the author set up the “tattle and skitter being kind to their communities” vs “regent and grue attacking gangs” and i can’t remember word for word, but dismissing bitch outright because “most things didnt apply to her.” the intent here is to label her as the outlier, yeah, so the statistics don’t matter. she doesnt count as a point in this weird little super power binary because she’s too fucking weird. but regent is also fucking weird. he’s been referred to as effeminate by at least cherie, he has little interest in combat, and his powers get other people to do the work for him. but he has traits that label him appropriately guy-shaped, like an interest in video games and rough-housing with grue. unlike bitch, who loves her dogs, but even that love has a roughness to it that women in fiction arent typically allowed. the narrative has gone out of its way to paint her as Not Feminine, with the bit about her giving no fucks about hygiene or shaving or whatever especially.
