dude if any of you have had to be put on something for brain fog via long covid (or you know someone who did) I'd love to know what it was and what the experience was like. I am literally Losing My God Damn Mind, so I am cracking and calling up my doctor to see what I can do. I'm at the point where I have to genuinely consider quitting art because I can't process anything past about 2-5 minutes, let alone focus enough to work. I feel insane and it's going to destroy me if I don't fix it

Musical tickets acquired!!
I ended up with one Änglagård and two Moulin Rouges, because I noticed there was a single pretty nice ticket available to the former on one of my possible traveling dates, so how could I not grab it? It's an odd show in some respects, but definitely worth seeing again too.

wow i WILDLY miscalculated the difference between kilograms and pounds
#ok so like. going to try to bury these thoughts behind several longer tags just in case someone doesn't want to see numbered weight talk#I'm just fascinated at the difference in numbers from a year ago like it's so fucking wild and strange to us#seeing as we've always been super super underweight we've NEVER experienced this before so we wanna ramble abt it#like our weight just did not change for like 10 years there it was. uncomfortable#but like. ok this time last year we were in and out of the ER barely able to eat a single meal in a day eating mostly foods that make us ill#and we weighed about 90 lbs. so about 40 kilos#which fucking SUCKED it was like everything was going wrong with our body at once it was NOT sustainable#in January of this year we finally started medications that work for us and started getting healthier#started slowly slowly eating more like. at first we couldn't even finish a full meal now we're having multiple meals a day usually#i remember us feeling constantly so ashamed over eating such small portions it felt like such a waste of food#now we eat pretty much nearly normally i think. food sensitivities notwithstanding#and anyway we started noticing that we were slowly gaining weight which we had already entirely wrote off as IMPOSSIBLE#so it was just so insane like. holy shit we were wrong we CAN get better#we reached 120 around June-July which has been our goal weight for years and years but we gave up on it and then it just Happened#now we're hovering around 130 and we can't stop looking at our new belly pouch of fat its very nice to see there#and we decided to calculate kilos#but our brain is stupid as fuck with numbers so we thought 'oh it'll be like a high 40s number probably'#it's nearly 60 kilos#which is a really nice number to see i think we'd want to hover around or slightly above this weight#we don't want to gain too much weight too quickly bc we have noticed the sudden change has messed with our head a bit#we get intrusive dysmorphic thoughts over it bc it's just new and strange to us#but really thinking about it. properly thinking. those are just intrusive no-changes-brain thoughts#this is a good change though. we are absolutely happy over this when older headmates come back into front and find out they get SO EXCITED#like we were updating blank on system stuff and he was like yea yea standard shit for us#and then one of us mentioned our weight and he sat STRAIGHT up like 'WAIT we're chunky now???? /pos'#everyone's so proud of how far we've come it's really nice

going back to my flat tomorrow (i’ve been at my parents’ for...uh...3 weeks wtf) so hopefully returning to my normal schedule and structure will spark something in me and i’ll feel motivated to write <3 HOWEVER, it turns out that i do also have 3 deadlines coming up this month and i’m not feeling great about it :~) i’ll do my best to be active here bc i really do want 2023 to be a better year for rp than 2022! but january may be a wonky month, please be patient with me!

I'm still recovering from bottom surgery I got on July 25th in some ways but I'm healing up well in many ways. I got a MRSA infection that hasn't totally passed, might've been from the hospital, might've been from a roommate. Which was kinda an additional reason we wanted to move from smwr to smwr else that's cheaper anyway in a number of ways, utilities/location/etc.
Collie's bottom surgery is scheduled for November 13th, I hope that actually happens. She's wondering if she should recover at the new place but now it's so soon I'm not sure we can find anything else. She seems really suicidal and stressed about it. I'm worried.
We wanted to leave as soon as we could tbh so they're asking for the 5 days rent of the end of September but I only have to have that by the next time I pay rent. If we stay here. Idk. I kinda like the roommates but she thinks the house isn't soundproofed enough. But it's been less annoying than Brook's house in the past few days in my eyes.
I still haven't been able to pay the PO box and they're giving me until the 10th to pay the 100, and I can't pay month to month or anything cheaper apparently.
The place is also asking for a deposit of 500 but they're kinda only expecting that in a 2 to 3 month range, or like. Kinda on the basis of how my income changes / if I get a job / etc.
119 + 710 + 500 + 100 = 1429
I need 100 by the 10th of October and 829 by the 1st of November and 500 eventually. Idk. I hope I'm able to get a job before my FFS on January 28th. I wonder how long that will me put me out of work.
(I already was able to pay them 710 for October based on what had been donated.)
Anything helps.

Eddie's about to commit homicide in an airport terminal. Walk over to that asshole with the laptop and throttle him with the cord. Bury him in a shallow hole, chuck his beeping hell machine right-
Okay, breathe.
He's overreacting. The guy's an inconsiderate jerk, but he doesn’t deserve to be murdered. Eddie's just a bit on edge ‘cause he got up at ass o'clock and now his flight is delayed and his neck is hurting from the plastic chairs and his phone is dying and-
Ping.
Okay, that's it.
Eddie stomps over, propelled by rage and too many energy drinks.
“Hey, asshole!”
Laptop jerk just continues typing. So he thinks he can ignore him, huh? Eddie reaches him just as the laptop dings again, grabs him by the shoulder.
“Hey, dickhead, I'm talking to you.”
Laptop jerk flinches so hard he nearly sends his device flying, head whipping up and-
-shit, he's cute. Big, hazel eyes full of shocked confusion under a swoop of chestnut hair. Perfect, pouty lips parted in surprise. Eddie has a sudden impulse to wrap a hand around the curve of that throat, drop his voice, tell him to say sorry like a good boy.
Which would be … wildly inappropriate.
“Listen,” he says instead. “Your beeping is annoying the living hell outta me, so-”
Something is pressed into his hand. Something rectangular and plasticy, like a business card.
“What the fuck?” Eddie mutters, lifts it so that he can read what it says.
Hi, I'm Steve. I'm hard of hearing.
Wait, what?
Eddie's eyes flit back to laptop jerk's face. He's smiling, but there's a distinct undercurrent of confusion and concern. Like he doesn’t know why Eddie's so angry, which is true of course, because he can't fucking hear, has no idea what he did wrong and fuuuuck, who's the jerk now?
That shallow hole still sounds tempting, just for entirely different reasons.
“Erm, it's just …” he starts, more slowly now, those pretty eyes following the movement of his lips. “I've been wondering if maybe …”
Steve tilts his head.
"... you'd wanna have coffee? My flight's delayed and-”
If the curl of Steve's mouth is anything to go by, he knows exactly that this isn't what he wanted to say.
He nods anyway.
By the time Eddie’s flight lifts off, his phone is dead, but there's a sticky note with a number tucked into his pocket.

Okay, so I was waiting until I had more information before I said something, but this is what the last 2 months of my life has been like. Content warning for discussion of uterine shenaniganry.
In August, start having bad, random cramping, which is weird, because I'm in perimenopause! I talk to my doctor and we think it's probably just T-related bullshit. We start me on vaginal estrogen, but I'm aware that cramping can mean uterine cancer, so I push to get my pap smear six months early.
My doctor's office (not my actual doctor) fights me on it. I fight back. Originally, they wanted to schedule me for March, then December, and I said, nah, I'm not waiting, because if it is uterine cancer, that shit is aggressive. So we got the test done. Irregular findings, so we go for an ultrasound.
As this happens, the cramps get worse, until I am feeling like I'm in the early stages of labor all the time.
Long story short, I have a golf ball of a fibroid sitting in the top of my uterus, and I've since found out that my grandmother had a hysterectomy for the same thing about my age.
So, here's the advice bit:
Unusual cramping, if you have a uterus, should be treated as if it might be Something Serious. Don't brush it off. Insist your doctor take it - and you - seriously. If your doctor doesn't take you seriously, please fire them and get a better one if possible.
Ask your parents to tell you as much as they know about your grandparents' and aunts' and uncles' health. In the last week, I've found out about A Lot of things I should have known a long, long time ago. Like, the number of things I've learned that I should have known has become an inside joke with a certain circle of my friends.
Get your pap smears, y'all. The sooner you find problems, the sooner you can deal with them.
Anyway, I probably can't evict all this bullshit until January, and I'm in a lot of pain basically all the time. So y'all are gonna have to forgive me if I'm a little distant and tired.
