buy me coffee ?
"This party is so great!" Your friend squealed, giving you a side hug as you grinned widely in happiness. "I know!" you let her go to face your boyfriend, "And it's all thanks to Mingi," you leaned to kiss him on the lips but he looked away last minute and took a sip of his drink, causing you to miss his lips. "Don't sweat it," Mingi said, or more likely muttered. "I got to..." he trailed off before walking away, pointing at the direction of his friends.
It was odd for him to be so... quiet with you. It was rather worrying, actually.
Just as you were about to go over to ask Mngi what was wrong, your friend pulled you aside to a corner with an amused grin on her face. "A little birdie told me your boyfriend prepared a surprise," she excitedly whispered, almost squealing. "What? What are you talking about?" you blinked confusedly. "Well, I was talking to some of the girls who wanted to go home early because they live rather far but Wooyoung insisted that they stay because, as he said it, they're going to want to," she winked. Still confused, you narrowed your eyes at her, "And... why would that be? It's probably a cake or they want to perform a Britney Spears song in which it would make sense that Wooyoung would want them to stay." Exasperatedly, your friend scoffed and punched you lightly on your shoulder, "Dude! Mingi is going to propose to you!"
Though you didn't believe her, your face went red and you immediately shot the idea down, "No way! Are you crazy? We've been dating for like 7 months, I haven't even brought up the fact that my parents wanted to meet him! I've been so panicked over all this, I'm still thinking of ways to tell him," you huffed. In that moment, you looked sideways and your eyes met with Mingi. The way he was looking at you was like a smoulder, it sent chills down your spine due to its intensity. You shot him a smile and a small wave, hoping that Mingi would reciprocate in the creative, adorable ways he usually does. But this time, he simply pursed his lips and nodded once at you before averting his gaze, rendering you slightly confused but you try to let him be, thinking that maybe he was just over-stimulated due to the crowd of people in your place. Your friend simply shrugged, "I don't know, I know people who got married after 3 months because they just KNOW they're with the one. Or because they got knocked up, I guess. But anyway, I think something serious is happening down the line and I hope everyone's ready to see it."
"Hi everyone, thank you for attending (y/n)'s surprise party!" Wooyoung's voice caught everyone's attention almost immediately, "We have another surprise so can I please ask for your attention?" "Attention whore!" Yunho jokingly yelled from the back, causing the crowd to laugh and Wooyoung to flip him off. "Anyway, as I was saying before some BITCH cut me off, I'm really happy to see so many people here and I can only assume that it's a testament to how many people love (y/n) and if you agree, let's give a round of applause to her!" and the whole room erupted into roars of claps and people whooping you, rendering you shy as you drop your head and tried to hold in your mouth-ripping grin. The attention occupied your senses so much that you didn't realize that there was one person in the room who didn't join the mass, the one person who mattered most to you.
"That being said, I'm sure (y/n) reciprocates your love for her so in a way, we can say that (y/n) loves a lot of people," Wooyoung said and if you focus on his face, you could see a slight smirk blooming, almost taunting, "And recently we found out that there is a person that (y/n) seem to love a little bit more than others." When Wooyoung turned to cue something up with Mingi helping him, you managed to let the words sink in and when it settled, you found yourself confused. What was Wooyoung talking about? The only person who could have fit such a description was Mingi but he didn't look too happy right at that moment. But the biggest shock didn't come until the TV was turned on and you saw pictures of you that you've never seen before/
Wooyoung stepped back and grinned mischievously, "Now, we see just HOW MUCH (y/n) can love a person even if that person is not her boyfriend, my dear boy Mingi." He pressed on the laptop that was connected to the TV and showed a similar picture of you sitting in front of a guy who you had been seeing quite frequently. "Now you might be wondering, who is this well-dressed man? Where were they? What's going on here? Why were they meeting up?" There were at least three more pictures of the same situation from different angles and seeing them felt like you were being splashed with cold water. "Well, I think the right question should've been 'how long did they think they could hide this shit from her own boyfriend?' right?"
People around you started whispering while glancing at you, talking about the fact that you had just been caught cheating. The happy look on your face as you hugged the guy in the picture and the way you simply found comfort in his embrace was not making the situation any better. Honestly, the situation was worse because of it, especially for Mingi who was trying his best to not look at the pictures again. When Wooyoung came to him with those pictures, he didn't want to believe that you were cheating on him, someone as sweet as you, someone who had openly and verbally appreciated and loved him and even made a promise not to hurt him. That was a week ago and Mingi had had half a mind to cancel the birthday surprise party he had meticulously planned for you (it was mostly Yunho and Jongho because had it been left completely to Mingi, the party would just be two pizzas and some beer with streamers as decoration), but Wooyoung had another idea that he thought would be MUCH better. Wooyoung was looking proud of himself for revealing that while Mingi was glaring at you, looking visibly angry with the way he was breathing heavily. "Well, do you have anything to say to your BOYFRIEND, (y/n)?"
Your brain was on the verge of collapsing due to information rushing into your brain all at once, not knowing which, who, or where to address first.
It was then that the front door opened and closed and you heard people gasping in surprise.
How can they not? The guy in the picture in front of them was standing there with a gift in hand.
"What's going on?" he asked, confused, looking around at the people staring, pointing at him.
His voice seem to broke you out of your trance and your eyes immediately watered. Tears of embarrassment started pouring out of your eyes as you looked up at him.
"Seonghwa," you choked out, calling for him.
Seeing you in such a state, Seonghwa's eyes widened and he dropped the gift in panic, "(y/n), what's wrong? What happened?" Seonghwa was about to step forward to you when Wooyoung scoffed, "Of course he's here to hide in plain sight, throwing off people because who would imagine the accomplice to be together so blatantly, right?" Some people laughed at Wooyoung's jab and it was at that moment you completely broke and your dashed to your room. Once your door slammed shut, your best friend stepped up and pushed Wooyoung harshly, sending him reeling a few steps back. "What the fuck is wrong with you!?" she screamed, "Why would you make a spectacle like this!?" Wooyoung huffed and regained his composure, but Mingi shot back at her, "Are you seriously condoning her action? She betrayed me and you think attacking Wooyoung is okay? It's bad enough she broke my trust, she HAD to have him here too?" Mingi spat as he jabbed his thumb at Seonghwa's direction.
Seonghwa's eyebrows furrowed, "Excuse me?" Mingi finally stepped up and went face-to-face with Seonghwa and his 6 ft stature easily towered over Seonghwa. Despite that, Seonghwa didn't waver for a bit. "You have some nerve coming here. Don't you have some shame?" Mingi asked. Still confused, Seonghwa could only stare at Mingi in disbelief, "What are you talking about? (y/n) invited me, what do you mean I have some nerve?" "Can you blame (y/n)'s boyfriend when you were caught getting all cosy with (y/n) behind his back? What were you even trying to do anyway?" Wooyoung piped back up/
When Seonghwa averted his eyes to Wooyoung, he finally realized the picture of him hugging you on the screen. "I was congratulating her on how serious her relationship had become with her boyfriend and I was telling her that I'd have her back when she finally decided to introduce her boyfriend to her parents," he said matter-of-factly. At the mention of being introduced to your parents, Mingi's heart skipped a beat for a moment but he kept his resolve. "And which boyfriend were you talking about, Mingi or you?" Wooyoung smirked.
Almost immediately, Seonghwa's face scrunched into cringe and he reeled back as if he had just gotten hit, "Ew! I'm her cousin!"
The whole room froze, especially Mingi and Wooyoung who looked like he had just seen a ghost.
"What?" Mingi whispered, needing a confirmation.
"I'm (y/n)'s cousin. We met up because she asked me for my help to support her AND YOU when you go to meet her parents. They have been pressuring her and she thought she finally found someone she could bring home," realization dawned on Seonghwa and his initial confusion melted into disgust, "Now, I think she's wrong."
Wooyoung's eyes widened and so did Mingi's. They were left gaping like fishes out of the water, not knowing how to react as they processed the fact that they had just made themselves not only look like idiots but also assholes.
The sound of a door slamming was heard and you showed up with eyes red, cheeks wet, and bottom lip trembling. Surprisingly (to everyone and even himself), Mingi was the first one to rush to you, crouching to look you in the eyes but you simply looked to the side, avoiding his gaze. "Baby, are you okay? I-I'm- I- Can we talk?" It was practically pathetic that Mingi switched his demeanour so quickly, but it was the first thing that he could think of.
"Get me out of here," you croaked, the brokenness of your voice tugged the strings of Mingi's heart as the guilt of what he did started to accumulate. "You wanna get out of here? Okay, we can do it, I'll get you out. Where do you want to go to? I-I can find somewhere or do you somewhere in mind already? I know it's just-" "Seonghwa," You cut him off, ignoring him as you looked up straight to your cousin, "Please get me out of here."
You didn't have to say twice before Seonghwa rushed to you, pushing Mingi out of the way (obviously intentionally) to get you out. When you walked past him, Mingi finally saw the large bag you had in your hand and the sight served as concrete proof of how much he fucked up.
On your way out, Seonghwa managed to scoop the birthday present he had accidentally dropped and momentarily turned around to glare at Mingi, "I'm taking this because my favourite cousin deserves one good thing now after what you did and you can bet I'm turning this day around for her," he hissed before finally leaving with you who couldn't even spare one last glance at anyone else and no one could blame you.
Silence hung in the air for two minutes before guests started trickling out, muttering shit excuses like having a curfew or needing to relieve their cat-sitter until there were just your friends and Mingi's inside. Your friend glared at Mingi and Wooyoung with so much disgust, they might as well have been chin-deep in a vat of butcher scraps mixed with manure. "I hope you're fucking happy doing this on her birthday you sick fucks," she spat before turning and leaving, the other people in your friend group joining. After they all left, Yunho and Jongho stayed back, looking at their friends in disbelief because they never thought their friends could pull something like that.
"You couldn't have asked her first or gather more evidence?" Jongho asked, scoffing. Wooyoung flipped him off while Mingi let out a sharp exhale as he slid down the wall behind him, "Shut up man," he halfheartedly muttered.
Served him right.

Hi! I'm back with a little request đ So it's a day when things get a little peaceful, no demons wreaking havoc and everyone can breathe more easily, y/n and their s/o (the Hashira (Tengen + his wives), Kanao, Aoi) play hide and seek because why not. This time, y/n goes into hiding and their s/o will seek them out. Interestingly, y/n is able to conceal their presence, like stilling their breath and heartbeat, staying scentless, etc. thus making them nonexistent in order to stay hidden better. Both y/n and their s/o are determined to win.
I imagine that it'd turn into a spooky prey/predator situation at some point because it's yandere. But in the end, it's all fun and games and they all enjoy every second of it. Nothing beats getting adrenaline and a little fear of getting caught in a good way like that. Like, if y/n is found, they will squeak and laugh out loud instead of getting scared. Fluffy yandere is pretty nice đ
As always, take your time and have a nice day!
Hello! I hope you enjoy this scenario! Iâm trying a new font lemme know what yall think! Anyways enjoy this is lagging very badlyđ
You stood in the clearing with a grin, watching as your s/o and their group prepared to hunt you down. Little did they know, you had an advantageâyour ability to completely conceal yourself. You could still your breath, quiet your heartbeat, and make yourself undetectable. This wasnât just a game of hide-and-seek. It was a hunt.
Tengen Uzui & His Wives
The second the game started, Tengen smirked. âAlright, everyone,â he declared, âweâre not letting them win. Spread out and find them. I donât care how good they are at hidingâthis is a challenge, and the God of Festivals doesnât lose challenges.â
Makio rolled her eyes, but there was a competitive glint there, too. âTheyâre not going to make it easy, you know.â
Suma, meanwhile, was already looking nervous. âWhat if we donât find them? What if theyâre too good? What ifââ
âSuma, stop worrying!â Makio cut her off, exasperated but fond. âTheyâre hiding, not disappearing forever.â
Hinatsuru gave a soft laugh, already walking off with a sharp, calculated gaze. âLetâs just see who finds them first, alright?â
Tengen took a different approach. He moved with surprising grace for someone his size, scanning for clues while calling out, âYou canât hide forever, you know. You might be good, but Iâm better!â
Despite his bravado, he couldnât shake the thrill. You were nowhere to be seen, and even he had to admit he was impressed. His heartbeat quickenedânot from fear, but from the excitement of the chase.
Hinatsuru, ever the strategist, noticed subtle disturbances in the area: a blade of grass bent unnaturally, a faint shift in the air. She followed these hints quietly, her soft footfalls barely disturbing the ground.
Makio was more direct, poking into hiding spots and grumbling when she came up empty-handed. Suma, meanwhile, was struggling to stay focused, muttering nervously as she searched.
When Tengen finally spotted the faintest hint of your silhouette, his grin widened. He crept closer, his movements eerily quiet, until he pounced with a triumphant, âGot you!â
Your squeak of surprise quickly turned into laughter, echoing through the clearing. His wives joined in moments later, Suma tackling you with a relieved hug while Makio teased you for hiding so well. Hinatsuru just smiled, her soft laugh adding to the joy.
Tengen ruffled your hair, his eyes gleaming. âYou almost had me there. Almost. But no one hides from the God of Festivals for long.â
Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao tilted her head slightly as she watched you run off. The rules were clear: sheâd find you, no matter how long it took. Her quiet determination was almost unsettlingâthere was no trace of hesitation in her movements.
As she started searching, her sharp eyes took in every detail. A broken twig, a faint impression in the dirtâshe cataloged everything silently, her focus unwavering. You were good at hiding, she realized, far better than she had anticipated.
The longer the game went on, the more her heart raced. It wasnât fear, exactly, but an unfamiliar mix of emotions. You were out there, somewhere, and she needed to find you. The thought of you staying hidden too long stirred something possessive in herâshe didnât like the idea of losing sight of you, even in a game.
When she finally caught sight of youâa faint movement, just enough to give you awayâshe moved like a shadow, silent and swift.
âFound you,â she said softly, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her.
You jumped, a surprised laugh escaping as you turned to face her. âHow did youââ
Kanao didnât answer, her lips curving into a small, satisfied smile. She didnât let you go immediately, lingering close as if to make sure you wouldnât vanish again.
Aoi Kanzaki
âI canât believe I agreed to this,â Aoi muttered, already scanning the area. She wasnât as outwardly excited as the others, but the competitive spark in her eyes was unmistakable.
Youâd been clever, vanishing without a trace, and Aoi found herself grudgingly impressed. Still, she wasnât about to let you win. âYou think youâre so sneaky,â she murmured, poking around hiding spots. âBut Iâll find you.â
She moved with surprising stealth, her sharp eyes catching even the smallest details. The longer you stayed hidden, the more determined she became.
When she finally spotted youâthanks to a faint sound or a barely noticeable shiftâher triumph was palpable. âThere you are!â she exclaimed, grabbing your wrist as you squealed in surprise.
You couldnât stop laughing, and though Aoi tried to maintain her usual stern demeanor, a smile tugged at her lips. âDonât think youâll win next time,â she said, her tone teasing despite the blush creeping up her cheeks.
Obanai Iguro
The game started with a calm but intense air between you and Obanai. His mismatched eyes narrowed as he watched you disappear into the trees. Kaburamaru, his ever-present companion, flicked his tongue as though sensing your trail.
âYou can run and hide all you want, but Iâll find you,â Obanai murmured to himself, his voice carrying a soft, dangerous edge.
Once the countdown was over, he moved swiftly, blending into the shadows like a predator stalking prey. His footsteps were silent, his movements calculated. Obanai didnât bother calling your name or announcing his presenceâhe wanted to catch you unaware.
Your ability to completely still your breath, heartbeat, and presence impressed him. He paused, crouching low to examine the forest floor. Youâd left no obvious clues, but Obanai had the patience of a hunter. He scanned for subtle signs: disturbed leaves, a bent blade of grass, or a faint scent in the wind.
Every second that passed without finding you made his possessive side stir. The idea of you staying hidden for too long, away from his sight, gnawed at him. You were his, after all, and no game would change that.
Finally, Kaburamaru flicked his tongue in the direction of a dense cluster of bushes. Obanai approached silently, his eyes narrowing as he spotted the faintest movementâa tiny shift that betrayed your hiding spot.
âThere you are,â he whispered, stepping into view with eerie precision.
You gasped in surprise, a laugh escaping your lips as he closed the distance between you. âHow did you find me so fast?â
His lips curved into a faint smile as he crouched beside you. âYou canât hide from me, Y/N. No one can.â His tone was soft, but there was a possessive undertone that made your heart race.
Kaburamaru coiled down from his shoulder, flicking his tongue in approval as Obanai reached out to gently tug you closer. âYouâre mine,â he said quietly, his eyes locking onto yours. âEven in a game like this, Iâll never let you out of my reach.â
Though his words carried a weighty intensity, the moment was softened by the warmth in his gaze. When you laughed again, Obanaiâs shoulders relaxed slightly, and he allowed himself a small chuckle. The hunt was over, and you were exactly where he wanted youâby his side.
Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri practically bounced with excitement as you ran off to hide. Her braided hair swayed behind her, and her bright eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. âOkay, Y/N, ready or not, here I come!â she called cheerfully after the countdown ended.
Mitsuriâs approach to hide-and-seek was filled with energy and joy. She darted through the forest, her movements swift but not entirely quiet. She didnât care about being stealthyâshe was too excited to find you.
âOh, Y/N!â she sang out, scanning the trees with a grin. âYouâre so good at hiding, but Iâm going to find you!â
She paused every so often, tilting her head to listen for any sound. When nothing came, she let out an exaggerated gasp. âYouâre so sneaky!â
Despite her bubbly nature, Mitsuriâs sharp instincts couldnât be underestimated. She noticed a faint shift in the leaves, a tiny disturbance that might have been from your movements. Her heart raced with excitement as she followed the faint trail.
As she got closer, her smile widened. She spotted a small gap in the bushes where you might be hiding. Trying to be quietâthough her giddy energy made it hardâshe crept forward before jumping out with a delighted cry.
âFound you!â
You yelped in surprise, your laugh ringing through the forest as Mitsuri practically tackled you in a hug. âOh, Y/N, youâre so clever! I almost didnât find you!â
Her arms tightened around you as she nuzzled into your shoulder, her cheeks flushed from both the chase and her overwhelming affection. âYouâre so amazing, you know that? I could play this game with you forever!â
Even as her excitement calmed, her grip on you remained firm. There was something in her gazeâa mix of adoration and possessiveness. She wasnât letting you go anytime soon, even if the game was over.
âI love spending time like this with you,â she said softly, her voice brimming with emotion. âYou make my heart race in the best way. Letâs play again soon, okay?â
Her smile was so radiant, it was impossible to say no. Even if she had a competitive streak and an intense desire to keep you close, her love was so warm and genuine that it filled you with joy.
Giyu Tomioka
Giyu wasnât entirely sure why he agreed to play. Perhaps it was the way you smiled at him, or maybe he wanted to spend a quiet moment with youâeven if the activity itself didnât suit his reserved nature. Either way, he stood silently as you darted into the trees to hide.
When the countdown ended, Giyu began moving. His steps were deliberate and silent, his sharp eyes scanning the forest. He didnât rush. Giyu had always been patient, and this was no exception.
As he searched, he appreciated your skill. Youâd stilled your presence so effectively that he couldnât hear your heartbeat or sense your breathing. A faint feeling of worry began to creep in. What if you were so good at hiding that he couldnât find you at all?
Shaking off the thought, Giyu focused harder. He noticed a subtle detailâa small scuff mark on the bark of a tree. It wasnât much, but it was enough. He followed the clue with quiet determination, his heart beating just a little faster with every step.
When he finally spotted the faintest glimpse of your figure through the dense foliage, he stopped, his lips twitching into the barest hint of a smile.
âYouâre good,â he said softly, stepping into view.
You jumped slightly before laughing, your smile lighting up the space between you. âHow did you find me, Giyu?â
âI had to,â he replied simply, his gaze softening. âYouâre important to me.â
Though his words were understated, the way he lingered, his eyes fixed on you, spoke volumes. Giyu didnât like the idea of you being out of his reach, even for a game. Still, seeing you so happy made the hunt worth it.
âNext time,â he said, his voice quiet but firm, âIâll find you even faster.â
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi smirked as he watched you run off into the forest. âThink you can hide from me, huh?â he called after you, his tone equal parts playful and challenging. âGood luck with that!â
When the countdown ended, he cracked his knuckles, his sharp eyes scanning the area. Sanemi treated the game less like a friendly activity and more like a competition. He had to winânot just because he was competitive, but because the idea of anyone else finding you first made his blood boil.
His approach was loud at first, deliberately crunching twigs underfoot and calling out taunts. âYou canât hide forever, Y/N! Iâll find you!â But as the minutes passed and you remained undetected, his tone shifted.
The forest grew quieter as he started moving more carefully, his voice lowering to a growl. âYouâre good, Iâll give you that. But not good enough to outsmart me.â
Sanemiâs heightened senses kicked in, and he caught the faintest hint of movementâa disturbance in the underbrush that was almost imperceptible. His smirk returned as he moved swiftly and silently toward the source.
When he finally caught you crouched behind a fallen log, he lunged forward with lightning speed, grabbing you before you could react. âGotcha!â
You let out a surprised yelp before dissolving into laughter. âSanemi! You scared me!â
âDamn right I did,â he said, his grin wicked but his grip gentle. âThatâs what you get for thinking you could hide from me.â
Despite his tough exterior, Sanemiâs expression softened as he looked at you. He brushed a stray leaf from your hair, his thumb lingering against your cheek. âDonât think Iâll let anyone else catch you, even in a stupid game like this,â he muttered, his voice low.
Kyojuro Rengoku
Rengokuâs booming laugh filled the clearing as you disappeared into the forest. âWhat a splendid idea for a game!â he declared, clapping his hands together. âHide as well as you can, Y/NâIâll make sure to find you!â
When the countdown ended, he moved with boundless energy, his bright eyes scanning the area. Though Rengoku was known for his strength and intensity, there was a warmth to his search that made it clear he was enjoying every moment.
âY/N!â he called out cheerfully, his voice carrying through the trees. âYouâre quite skilled at hiding, but Iâll find you all the same!â
He noticed small details as he searchedâthe way the grass bent slightly in one direction, or how a few leaves seemed to have been displaced. Rengoku followed these clues with unshakable confidence, his grin widening with every step closer to your hiding spot.
When he finally found you, tucked behind a cluster of bushes, his eyes lit up with triumph. âAh-ha! Found you, my dear Y/N!â
You burst into laughter as Rengoku reached down to pull you to your feet. âHow did you find me so fast?â you asked, still giggling.
He laughed heartily, the sound warm and infectious. âYour hiding skills are exceptional, but nothing can escape my determination!â
Rengokuâs hand lingered on yours as he looked at you with unmistakable affection. âYou make even the simplest games so exhilarating,â he said earnestly. âLetâs play again soonâI could chase after you forever.â
Though his words were playful, there was a depth to his tone that made your cheeks flush. Being near Rengoku always felt like standing in the sun, and his joy was so genuine that you couldnât help but smile back.
Hereâs how the hide-and-seek game unfolds with Gyomei Himejima, Muichiro Tokito, and Shinobu Kocho, with their unique approaches and personalities shining through:
Gyomei Himejima
Gyomei knelt on the ground, his prayer beads in hand as you disappeared into the forest. Despite his massive frame, there was an air of serenity about him, his closed eyes giving nothing away.
âHide well, Y/N,â he said softly, his deep voice carrying across the clearing. âBut know thisâI will find you.â
When the countdown ended, Gyomei rose gracefully, his towering form moving with surprising quietness. Though blind, his heightened senses allowed him to perceive the world in ways others couldnât. He listened for subtle shifts in the air, the faintest rustle of leaves, and even the rhythm of your heartbeatâthough you had expertly stilled it to make yourself undetectable.
âYouâve trained yourself well,â Gyomei murmured, a faint smile tugging at his lips. âBut even the quietest soul cannot escape the truth of their existence.â
As he walked, his presence was both calming and formidable, like a mountain moving through the forest. He paused suddenly, tilting his head slightly as he sensed a faint disturbance nearby. The shift in energy was almost imperceptible, but Gyomei honed in on it with unwavering precision.
He stopped just outside your hiding spot, his voice soft but resolute. âYouâre here, arenât you, Y/N?â
When you didnât respond, he extended a hand, his gentle movements betraying the strength behind them. âIâve found you.â
You couldnât hold back a laugh as you stepped out of hiding. âHow did you know?â
Gyomeiâs smile was kind, his expression serene. âThe world speaks to those who listen,â he said simply, his large hand resting lightly on your shoulder. âYou are a part of that world, and I will always find you within it.â
Though his words were calm, there was an unspoken intensity in themâa promise that no matter where you went, Gyomei would always be there to protect you.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro barely reacted when you told him about the game, his usual distant expression in place. âHide-and-seek? Alright,â he said with a shrug, though a faint glimmer of curiosity sparkled in his eyes.
When you disappeared into the forest, he stood still for a moment, gazing at the trees with an almost dreamy detachment. But as soon as the countdown ended, his demeanor shifted.
Muichiro moved through the forest with a fluid grace, his mind sharp despite his aloof appearance. He didnât waste time calling out or making noiseâhis focus was entirely on finding you.
Your ability to conceal your presence intrigued him. Most people left traces without realizing it, but you were different. For a brief moment, Muichiro hesitated, wondering if heâd underestimated you.
Then, a faint detail caught his attentionâa single leaf slightly out of place. His sharp mind pieced it together instantly, and he moved silently toward the source.
When he finally spotted you crouched behind a tree, he didnât make a sound. Instead, he appeared suddenly beside you, his voice calm but tinged with amusement. âYouâre good at this.â
You jumped slightly, laughing at how silently he had approached. âHow did you get here so fast?â
Muichiro tilted his head, his expression unreadable. âI donât waste time,â he said simply. âBut you made it challenging. I liked that.â
Though his tone was calm, there was a flicker of possessiveness in his gaze. âNext time, donât stay hidden so long,â he added, his words soft but carrying a subtle edge. âI donât like it when youâre too far away.â
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobuâs violet eyes sparkled with amusement as you explained the rules of the game. âOh, how fun! Iâve been looking forward to this,â she said with a sweet smile. âGo ahead and hide, Y/N. Iâll be sure to find you.â
When the countdown ended, Shinobu moved through the forest with a dancerâs grace, her every step light and purposeful. She hummed softly to herself, the sound both playful and unsettling.
âOh, Y/N~â she called out in a singsong voice. âWhere could you be hiding?â
Despite her cheerful tone, Shinobuâs sharp mind was fully engaged. She noticed the smallest detailsâa broken twig, a faint disturbance in the dirtâand followed them like a predator stalking its prey.
âYouâre quite clever,â she murmured to herself, her smile never faltering. âBut I wonderâŚhow long can you stay hidden?â
Shinobuâs voice carried through the forest, and though it sounded sweet, there was an undercurrent of something more. âYou know, Y/N, I donât mind a good challenge. In fact, I enjoy it. But if you stay hidden too long, I might start to worry.â
Finally, she spotted you, your figure barely visible behind a thick cluster of bushes. Instead of rushing forward, she circled around silently, appearing behind you with an almost eerie swiftness.
âGot you~â she whispered, her voice right next to your ear.
You yelped in surprise before bursting into laughter. âShinobu! That was scary!â
Her smile widened, her eyes glinting mischievously. âOh, was it? I didnât mean to frighten you.â She tilted her head, her gaze softening slightly. âYouâre very good at this game, Y/N. But no matter how well you hide, Iâll always find you.â
Though her words were light, there was a lingering intensity to themâa reminder that Shinobuâs affection ran far deeper than her gentle demeanor suggested.

A followup to the previous parts
Henry smiled as he sat at the dinner table, despite the math homework laid out before him. Beside him sat Emma, poring over the textbook with a wrinkled brow in the hopes of helping him understand the problem. But that wasn't why he was smiling. Henry was smiling because of the quiet, musical hum drifting out of the kitchen as his mom cooked dinner. There was no real melody to it, just an aimless tune that faded in and out as Regina moved from task to task.
"Okay," Emma said, sliding the textbook back in front of him. "I think I understand it now. You're supposed to take this angle, and- What?"
Henry pulled his eyes from the direction of the kitchen and shook his head. "Nothing," he replied. "She's just, happy."
Emma glanced over, following the direction he'd been looking. "What, 'cause she's humming? She always hums when she cooks."
Henry's smile grew, but he didn't say anything. The simple fact was, Emma was wrong. Regina didn't hum every time she made dinner. Not that Emma would know, of course. It had taken Henry some time to notice the pattern himself. To notice that the only nights his mom hummed as she cooked, were the nights that Emma joined them for dinner. Not just that, but Henry was pret-ty sure that his mom put a little magic into her food on those nights too. Somehow, it always ended up not a second overdone, and seasoned to perfection.
"What?" Emma repeated warily, as she leaned slightly away. "What's with the smile? You good, kid?"
"Fine," Henry replied innocently. He picked up his pencil. "How do I solve it?"
Emma gave him a suspicious look, but walked him through the problem anyway. To be honest, Henry hadn't needed as much help as he'd let on. He probably could have figured it out on his own, or asked his mom for help. But having Emma over as often as possible was a crucial part of Operation Whiptail.
"Dinner's ready," Regina announced, appearing in the doorway. "Clear the table, please. Emma, could you help me in the kitchen?"
"Yep," Emma agreed easily, and stood as Henry gathered his things. Once everything was tucked back into his backpack he hurried to go help, dodging past Emma whose arms were laden with plates and silverware. "Woah, kid. Where are you going?"
"I'm thirsty," Henry called back, rushing to the cupboard. He wasn't really, but it was a good excuse for him to grab a pair of wine glasses while he was at it. He followed his mom back into the dining room, mouth watering at the sightâand smellâof dinner. He quickly placed a wine glass at each of his moms' place settings, then slid smoothly back into his own seat.
"We're having wine?" Emma questioned, lifting her glass to peer into it, as if it would miraculously fill itself.
Regina carefully set dinner in the middle of the table, then stood straight. "Well I hadn't planned on it," she remarked. "But a nice red would pair well with this dish."
With a wave of her hand, deep purple smoke coalesced on the surface of the table, then faded to reveal an open bottle of wine. Emma grabbed it eagerly, filling Regina's glass and then her own. She took a swig immediately, before declaring, "It's good."
Regina rolled her eyes. "I'm glad you approve of the vintage, you peon."
"You know you love me," Emma jibed back with a grin. Henry's eyes darted to his mom's face as she hesitated, then smiled thinly and sat.
"So," Regina said, as she began to hand out servings. "I heard you had an eventful day."
"Mm." Emma bobbed her head in agreement, before swallowing. "Some idiot stole a wand from the convent, tried to blast his way past the barrier. Nearly blew his own foot off."
"Maybe he'd have learned something if he did," Regina remarked.
"Trust me," Emma assured her, "He's learning it. The nuns are probably still lecturing him as we speak."
"Truly a fate worse than death."
Henry mostly stayed out of the conversation as they ate, content to listen with a smile as his moms bantered back and forth. Eventually, he pushed his chair back and let out an exaggerated sigh. "I'm full," he said. "And tired. I think I'm gonna go to bed."
"It's like seven o'clock," Emma pointed out skeptically.
Henry shrugged innocently. "It's a school night, I don't want to wake up tired. And I'm probably going to read some before I go to sleep anyway."
"Alright," Regina said. "Goodnight, dear. Sleep well."
"Probably not a bad idea for me to be heading out too," Emma said, pushing her own seat back.
"No!" Henry interrupted hastily. Both his moms instantly turned to look at him, with twin looks of confusion and alarm. Quickly, he recovered. "Uh. I mean. You've been drinking. You shouldn't drive."
Emma raised an eyebrow at the half-full bottle of wine. "I had two glasses. I'll be fine."
"You're not supposed to drive even after one drink," Henry pointed out. "Isn't that what you told me?"
"Uh..." Emma glanced around the room like she was searching for an answer. "I'll, ask someone to pick me up then. Or your mom can drive me."
"Why don't you just stay here?" Henry suggested. "We've got a guest room."
"Henry," Regina said with a slight reprimand. "She doesn't have to stay if she doesn't want to."
"No, I'll stay," Emma quickly corrected. "I mean, if you want me to. I just don't want to impose, or anything. But, if you're fine with me crashing in the guest room..."
Regina paused, then smiled at her. "I guess I'll be making breakfast for three tomorrow."
Henry beamed. "Kay, goodnight!"
"Night kid."
"Goodnight."
Henry left the dining room, heading for the stairs, but paused and hung back just within earshot. Distantly, he could hear Emma ask, "Why do I feel like I just got conned?"
"He's been pushing for you to move in," Regina told her, as the scrape of silverware against porcelain resumed. "Archie says it's normal, for him to want both parents living in one house, but obviously I'm not going to ask you to uproot your life like that."
"Right, yeah. Makes sense, what Archie said. I mean our situation isn't exactly, normal, but I could see that giving him a bit more... stability."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. I mean, when you really think about it, he spends half his time with you and half with me. So, he's constantly bouncing back and forth between here and the loft. Both of us under one roof, that's a whole lot less..."
"...Bouncing," Regina finished.
"Yeah." A second passed. "I mean, obviously I'm not actually going to move in. I'm just saying-"
"It'd be good for him if you did."
"Yeah." The silence lingered longer this time. Then, "Okay well if I'm not driving then pass the wine."
Henry grinned and turned to quietly climb the stairs. Operation Whiptail was all going according to plan.
If you enjoyed this, please reblog! Likes don't really do anything

Kiddo has an upcoming research essay that involves trying to kinda advocate for something, sounds like pretty low stakes and small scale. It can be addressed to the school, teacher, parents, anything like that. One kid wants to advocate to his parents for a regular ice cream day, for instance.
My kiddo wants to write as if to the school asking for less time in school (bc lmao of course he is). Scandinavian countries, particularly Finland, come immediately to mind for research to back his idea.
Are there other countries with anything like fewer days, hours, out of school work, whatever can fit this general idea? Particularly if they have good social and/or economic ratings, or just anything that proves it's a benefit to have this difference.
#im of course looking on my own too#But man...i need a different search engine cause Google is racist lmao#(Like yeah algorithm and sometimes i go 'what fresh hell is this'and click something i don't AGREE with and now the algorithm is ruined but#lbr it wasn't gonna be great even if it was unblemished because seo blahblablah point is the stuff Google brings up first#Are clickbaity slideshowy nonsense and it's all 'Scandinavia. Uk. Usa. China. 'Jungle asia.' 'Dirty africa.' Nothing else exists.'#And even trying to find specific stuff is proving a pain like i think I'm gonna have to go for some dense sources#It's for a 5th grader#So I'm trying to avoid that#Anyway I'm just hoping for some direction#I got a lot of good stuff one of the other times i asked here for help with direction on one of his projects đĽ°

Howdy, Heidi! You said that some fans picked up things that were done on accident⌠Were there more scenes like that? Also, were there scenes that you guys made on purpose but fans didnât pick up / were aware of them? In shipping terms (hihi) and in general terms. Thanks!
I think in every type of media you will inevitably see versions of 'authorial' intent vs audience interpretation that overlap and differ from each other in many ways. (Authorial intent in quotes because in collaborative mediums like film and animation every single person on the pipeline who touches the work probably has a slightly different personal interpretation they're contributing to the final work, even under someone like a showrunner or a director).
Humans are smart and it's in our nature to look for connections and find explainations to questions, so most of the time if someone is putting something down, someone is going to pick it up, so to speak, and a lot of things ARE on purpose.
But this same phenomenon can also lead to us seeing connections in places that even the 'authors' might not have originally thought of while creating the work, and I think that can be pretty neat actually! I don't necessarily think reading alternate interpretations of works is wrong-- it can be very healthy to explore multiple reads of a narrative or a character/character dynamic. On Chaos Theory there were definitely times when we were like 'fans are probably gonna ship this even if it's not the text' haha. Sometimes fans latch onto headcanons you really have no control over. Sometimes things were animated slightly differently from how they were conceived (which is also a natural part of things).
But yes, sometimes I have seen a few other things that were interpreted in slightly different ways from how they were directed or written verbally, but I'm personally of the opinion that it's more fun to leave some things visual and open to a little interpretation rather than beating the words over the audience's head and having the characters constantly announcing 'I'm feeling this because of this!' And going 'this is the only way to interpret the show and the characters and if you don't you're wrong!'
It's usually not a huge deal. I think even as we were working sometimes I'd make connections to myself that weren't necessarily spelled out to us and go 'oh, this is a throughline for this character actually!'
Like for example- if I remember correctly, the original direction behind how Kenji reacted to Ben's apparent death was that it was supposed to the first time he'd ever seen someone he really KNEW seemingly die right front of him, and being unable to do anything about it deeply affected him. Ben is a very important turning point in his character development regardless of which way you read it.
And I think this is actually something that just continued to stack onto his character throughout both shows whenever any of his friends lives are seriously in danger. In Camp when he's still unable to do anything but comfort Sammy while she's poisoned, to deciding it's too dangerous not to trade Wu's laptop for Brooklynn, to eventually throwing himself between the spinosaurus his dad is about to kill Darius with and choosing his friends over his own father and being willing to die with/for them... and then in Chaos Theory it kind of reboots all over again with Brooklynn dying and then his dad dying right in front of him, and his complex of not wanting to be useless and trying to do whatever he can at the expense of even himself to keep the loved ones he has left safe is kicked into overdrive.
I think there are a lot of things like that where the intent is not always verbally spelled out, but the more important thing is that it's still (hopefully) making you feel something.
#anyway tldr there always are but I don't think it matters all that much usually#part of the dance of doing a show is offering things up for interpretation and hoping folks pick up on it#I think that one shot I in Camp did also just haunts me because I felt like I accidentally contributed to 'queerbaiting' at the time#but having been on both the creation side and the fandom side of shows now#when fans toss around accusations of queerbaiting and all that in fandoms I'm in it just makes me tired now ajjdjd#and honestly personally some of my favorite ships are not canon and are from things that have long ended and will never be canon#but I've always had some of the most fun with those because folks tend to get more creative with fanworks for ships that aren't canon#my controversial fandom conclusion v_v#I will just end things by saying sometimes 'authors' intend for things to go in different directions than fans want or interpret#and I love shipping as much as the next person#but it can be good to step back and examine stories and characters from a non shipping view sometimes too#both? both. both is good#Sammy and Yaz were always shipped by everyone on the crew though lol#jurassic world chaos theory#jwct#jurassic world#chaos theory#chaos crew#storyboard artist#camp cretaceous#ask#anonymous

I love the way S2 showed the difference between how Jesper approaches a high-stakes situation in comparison to Wylan, specifically in the scene where they sneak into Pekka's estate by entering through an open window. Jesper practically jumps from the windowsill and then twirls his gun, whereas Wylan gently lowers himself from the windowsill before lightly dropping himself down when he's crouched close enough to the ground.
We know that Jesper thrives off chaos and spontaneity, hence why he leaps from the windowsill and immediately twirls his gun: he's diving head-first into the action. He actively seeks fights because of the thrill they bring him, because he "always felt better when people were shooting at him". You can practically see the adrenaline coursing through him.
Wylan slowly lowering himself until he's close enough to drop down is more careful and deliberate than Jesper's leap, and it shows the complete opposite: Wylan is more cautious and wary than Jesper because he doesn't thrive off the chaos of a fight. He doesn't find anything thrilling about being in a dangerous situation, especially when you consider his sheltered upbringing. (I say sheltered because, though abusive, his household never exposed him to the dangers of Barrel life. This is made clear in Crooked Kingdom when Wylan is reliving his first months in the Barrel, thinking about how "he might not have been happy at his fatherâs house, but heâd never had to work for anything. Heâd had servants, hot meals, clean clothes. Whatever it took to survive the Barrel, Wylan knew he didnât have it.") He doesn't want to get in trouble or get wrapped up in these sorts of situations because that's not who he wants to be - he doesn't want to be a criminal.
However, he inevitably leaps from the windowsill too (just when he's crouched low enough to do so) rather than slowly sliding off it and onto the ground, exemplifying how, despite how he doesn't want to be a criminal, he still contributes to the task at hand and gets involved in these types of situations. His hesitancy doesnât paralyse him regardless of the fact that he doesnât want to partake in criminal activity. Whether or not he wants to do it, this is the path he's decided to pursue and he needs to do his part.
This difference is also exemplified in the scene in S2E5 where Zoya and Tolya are recruiting the Crows for the heist to steal the Neshyenyer blade. When they offer payment for the Crowsâ contributions, Jesper responds with âI like the sound of thatâ before taking a shot of something. In a way, it echoes the âtime for a heist!â scene in season one, emphasising Jesperâs willingness to go on a heist due to the thrill it brings (as well as the prospect of a monetary reward). On the other hand, while Jesper is enthusiastically agreeing to Zoya and Tolyaâs request, Wylan is giving him the bombastic side-eye due to Jesper's willingness to accept the mission without hesitation.
Again, Wylan can't fathom how someone could be so willing to go on such a mission, so he's side-eyeing Jesper in disbelief and almost disapproval but he's also not at all surprised because this is Jesper Llewellyn Fahey. Remember, Wylan doesn't thrive off adrenaline rushes the way Jesper does - he's only doing all of this because 1) his entire motivation is to "make his money, get out of town, and never speak the name Van Eck again" and 2) he pretty much has no other choice because he makes it very clear that "he would sell himself in the pleasure houses of West Stave before heâd ask for his fatherâs mercy".
#the way this has been in my drafts for ages#just ignore my horrendous graphics i'm trying okay#n e ways#does this make sense#i hope so#because i thought it was interesting#i don't know if this is how kit and jack were directed or if it was their own choice#but thanks to these two anyway#s2 had some questionable plot choices but individual characterisation was pretty good#jesper fahey#wylan van eck#kit young#jack wolfe#wylan hendriks#six of crows#crooked kingdom#grishaverse#shadow and bone#shadow and bone season two#shadow and bone season three#six of crows spin off#leigh bardugo#sab cast#soc spin off#meta#sab meta

sorry to boohoo whine woe is me but girl i am so sick to death of being hungry. every DAY you have to eat sometimes multiple times a day. and while i know how lucky i am that i have the means to acquire food my options are 1. eat junk food 2. go out of my house and spend 1 million dollars at some fast food chain i'm probably supposed to boycotting 3. remain hungry. and i have to make this decision multiple times a day!!!!!

recent lounging babey images
#he's so floppy recently and I hope it's just the heat. I think wamr weather makes everyone floppy and loungy#a beauntifulle boye...#cats#STILL working on posting some drafts. finishing new poll adventure.. other things... It's just hard with the weather and other things going#on. I've had a few more doctors appointments and other things to do recently that have to be done in a time limit#so I hvae to use my extremely limited energy working on that instead of doing the things I'd really rather do. :T#Main focuses though are keeping up better with doing and posting costumes + sculptures as main creative things. at least finishing the#main poll adventure story. Reworking the game I kind of abandoned for a few years. keeping up with game videos and a few other side things.#Especially the game though. I've been in a really worldbuildy mood recently. I just wish that was easier to manifest into something. I've#now put the worldbuilding slideshow reading video on pause for a while because it's SOOO long to do#and I think I should prioritize making games and stuff instead. but still other things. IT's just kind of like.. I have a whole world and#everything very built and planned out but now.. what do I do with it? what's the best way to share that? factual slideshows just going over#the information like a dictionary? make it into a game? write short stories? do art attached to the world? etc. etc. ?? There are so many#potential avenues I end up kind of flip flopping between them a lot because none really seem more beneficial than the others and they all#seem equally enjoyable and also equally hard so. It's like?? I guess just do what the hell ever and hope I made the right choice in terms o#cost benefit and reward for my time lol. ANYWAY.. Also why I'm in my 'trying to make friends' era still because I think having other creat#ive friends can help you find direction like.. people will meet each other and then go 'hey lol just for fun lets start a project together!#and then like 5 years later it's genuinely become something. etc. having other people to help weed out ideas and start small creative teams#together and etc. I feel is a very beneficial part of networking or whatever but also I have the social capacity of a stale bread roll and#am also inherently unrelatable to seemingly a majority of people due to my hermit wizard swag (detachment from general society and hyper#focus on fantasy worlds in my head gjhghj) so trying to meet people as a grown adult with social issues is Very easy and fun (it is not)#even very basic things like my core communication style is so incompatible with a lot of people it's like.. hhhh... People in this modern#age have GOT to stop being afraid of phone calls and/or text that is longer than 6 paragraphs. Work with me here. I WANT to talk to you. bu#I do not know what your emojis mean and it's physically impossible for me to type less than 85 sentences. please.. hhjgjgb#AAANYWAY!! I am working on things when I can given the circumstances (SUMMER).. hopefully some costume pictures and stuff soon. :'3#I've not forgotten about my art and etc. - as usual I just am bad at social media and also functioning if it's above 65F lol

augh . this show
#i have a tendency to get REALLY attached to one character from every show I'm interested in#to the point where my perspective of the show is kinda warped by their views#like if they hate a character i'll hate the character that kind of thing#and this is fun most of the time. a pleasant enough experience#certainly an interesting way to go abt it lol#but this time#I got attached to Peri#so what comes with that is. I like Hazel. I like Cosmo and Wanda a lot. And I also like DEV a lot#(he's also just a great character so far in general)#and I've come to really like where i THOUGHT Peri and Dev's dynamic was going#but some of the staff on twitter are saying some Mysterious things#and implying that Dev's just gonna be Proper Evil for a while. even beyond the series finale#and it's really throwing me off guard#like if he's gonna be evil then I feel like he and Peri are just gonna hate each other? but i like the idea of them getting along#so now it's just. twisting my mind in different directions#i don't think i'll ever HATE Dev even if Peri does. He's a very interesting and compelling character#but still#anyway if they really do end up making Dev a longstanding villain i just??? i don't think that's the best choice for the series#especially considering it's a KIDS CARTOON#saying ''this kid is mean but he has the potential to be good :)#unfortunately he won't be. he's evil now!''#like huh. what kind of message is that for kids#i hope this is just them tricking us lol. intentionally misguiding us#bc otherwise... mmh... idk

random tokrev rant ahead !!
when i first started this blog it was going to be for random shitposts, groupchats once in a while, and mostly tokrev analysis but i was so scared of discourse that i just chose to do the funnier stuff đ. when tokrev was at it's peak i'd be reading 20k+ words of analysis and it was so fun!! but i felt like i couldn't word what i wanted to say properly so that discouraged me but i wish i'd ignored that because there would have been at least one person who understood what i was saying yk?
#anyway#i used to have a tagging system but i forgot so that's my bad#and the thing about discourse is that you could give a person all the canonical facts of the story and they'll still find a way to pretend#that they're right and i personally cannot handle that#i take things very seriously and someone thinking they won a argument when they didn't would make me rip my hair out#so maybe my blog not going into that direction was good for my metal health#i feel like fandom interactions always end up as fights for some reason#why can't two opinions co-exist#let's discuss and have fun why we gotta tell each other to kill ourselvesđ#like i saw a very well thought out and written theory about sanzu having autism or something along those lines#and a comment was like âstop trying to give him excuses he's a terrible villain and he's just crazy blah blah blahâ#whole time this person's an izana apologist#likeđ#i love both these characters but a lot of characters in tokrev are more complicated than just a âcrazy villainâ#and it seems like they understand that about izana so????#ok i'm done now i hope you guys get what i mean#tokyo revengers#tokyo revengers manga#tokrev

May I ask about your Jason Todd idea? <3
Hm, okay so. How to lay this out sensitively since I know it might be a tad controversial...
Prefacing by saying I'm not an expert on the minutias of Jason characterization. I like him when he appears, I think the battle for the cowl/Morrison era and some parts of modern era for him are Weird and Bad, but I'm not Jason scholar (for that I'd say maybe check out @/tumblingxelian and their great video essays), I'm just trying to think of what might be an interesting step forward for him.
First, the canon facts
Jason got lobotomized and has panic disorder on steroids. By the end of Gotham War (specifically when Jason was. Flying the batplane into the asteroid. God I can't believe that's the plot) he was finding it in himself to power through said panics
In Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #12, the joker gives Jason a "low dose" of joker venom, which has an ambiguous effect on Jason, allowing him to power through the fear (which joker explicitly states is still very much present, just not physically debilitating, like when Jason couldn't run over in either Catwoman #57 or #58, the one with the kid in the building) even though he'd been able to do that sans venom over in Gotham War, like I previously stated.
The effect of said joker venom seems to be lingering for now, minus the creepy grin side effect it gave Jason over in that man who stopped laughing issue, as seen in the latest batman issue (number is escaping me rn, #147??). He still has the stutter which is a shorthand for fear, he's drawn with fearful expressions by Jorge Jimenez, but he says that he's "working through it" thanks to the chemicals
This is both super interesting and kind of maddening as it doesn't completely remove the consequences of what happened in Gotham War, but is trying to sweep them under the rug and get back to business as usual. I, however, propose making said consequences front and center like a fashionable urn on a mantle piece:
Since it's never stated how exactly the joker venom works, and I think the current answer is "it works how the story needs it to" I've decided that because it's a low dose, it eventually wears off. And when it wears off, Jason's back to square one in terms of mental state. Ergo, if Jason doesn't want to live the rest of his life as quaking shivering husk of his former self...he's going to need more.
(read more for the meat of things)
So, Jason self medicates for a condition given to him by the father he has endlessly complicated feelings towards with a cure invented by a man who represents everything he hates in the world who once tried to take everything from him.
Which, insert poetic cinema gif here, I'm quite proud of myself for that one.
Anyway, there's a lot of directions you could take this. Personally I think it'd be interesting to explore Jason trying to get back into the drug trade like he did in UTRH (FULL TRANSPARENCY I HAVEN'T READ THE FULL COMIC, I KNOW BROADSTROKES BUT IM NOT GONNA TRY AND MAKE PARALLELS) as he tries to use the resources (production plants and other drug runners who can hook him up with samples of joker toxin/similar stuff you can probably find around Gotham) to manufacture his own cure that means never having to go back to the joker again. Maybe he ambushes a joker toxin chemical production plant to get his own supply, and then Jason uses this as his foothold back into that world.
This isn't necessarily me saying we should regress Jason alll the way back to UTRH, that was before his anti-hero era and I'm not willing to fully shoot him back into the past. I just think that's not how you tell good stories in a medium like comics. But it'd inherently be a little different just bc he's doing it for different, slightly more self motivated (depending on your take on villain Jason) reasons and the people around him would have a different reaction to it.
Anyway, all sorts of problems can arise! Depending on how you wanna characterize Jason (wayward son who longs to be back in the fold or black sheep who doesn't play by daddy's rules, etc) he can either a) try and hide this criminal enterprise from his giant family full of nosy detectives (good idea there jay) OR do it out in the open, trying to justify himself but still putting himself on the opposite side of the family again (not the law bc that boy hasn't been on the 'right' side of it since he died)
There's also the fact that Jason now needs to take something 24/7 in order to live his life. He essentially can't be without it, he's dependent on it, in fact he'd get sick without it despite any adverse effects it may have on him (which are guaranteed, I mean. No clinical trials)
I imagine it'd be easy to become addicted to it in some way.
And uh. This is the part where it works slightly better as a fanfic pitch than an actual comic pitch. Because as much as I think it'd be such an interesting beat for Jason's character considering his fraught history with addiction and drugs (looks away from that one urban legends story where he suggests terrorising addicts to get to the suppliers and bruce lectures him. The easiest way to make Mr "we don't sell drugs to children" sympathetic and you beefed it)
I also fully recognise that this is a sensitive topic that DC doesn't have the best track record with (although addicts aren't a monolith and feel a number of ways about addictions portrayals in comics) and that there's probably some pitfalls inherent in the premise, namely bc of Jason's background as an impoverished kid and his grey morality, and how those play into stereotypes of addicts. Addiction is already such a misunderstood and stigmatized condition that I imagine playing with it with an antihero might be enough to turn some people off. Addiction is not a moral failing and I'd hate to write it as a moral failing of Jason akin to his willingness to kill, etc.
But with all that said, I think that stereotypes are primarily harmful because of their shallowness. They inhibit understanding of groups labeled "other" by presenting them in simplistic ways that don't portray richness or complexity. And I think a truly good red hood comic could give both sympathy and complexity to Jason, even as an addict. If anything, Jason is a popular character (mostly) and there could be something nice about seeing a main character go through what you're going through, gritty details and all. YMMV (can we bring that back btw?) and it depends on execution. There's a lot of ways it could go wrong, but seeing as it just lives as a hypothetical rn, I think there's also a lot of ways it could go. I mean, not right, it's a downer story beat for Jason but it's mostly meant to be interesting and a vehicle for more stories as Jason navigates it, ya know?
Anyway, I have a lot of spiels littered in my notes app and discord DMs that elaborate on all this (how this could work as act 1 in a broader Jason story where his little operation goes to shit and he has to hit the road (jack) and maybe do some character development for better or worse. I'm a sucker and wanna say better- not squeaky clean better but. Yknow, finding himself to an extent. I recognise I'm a sap and a fool tho. Or how a new outlaws team could factor into either of those eras (since I do like Jason with an outlaws team. It gives him an excuse to exercise his compelling relationships and dynamics with other characters without having to constantly tip-toe around the elephant in the room whenever he's with the batfamily all the time. He just needs a good lineup) but that's all for another time
... though without elaborating on the vision in my head it kind of just sounds like my pitch is "Jason gets addicted to his hyper-anxiety medication" BUT I SWEAR ITS MORE THAN THAT.
It's like. If Jason has struggled as a character (and this is very subjective on my part so feel free to disagree) because he has compelling relationships with all of the batfamily, but also has compelling grey morality that makes it hard to capitalize on those relationships, without the conflict always coming to "Jason stop killing!" "Nuh uh!" OR just being ignored, and the main way writers have addressed this is via reboots instead of arcs...
Then giving Jason and the bats:
real, legitimate and fresh reason for jay to be mad at Bruce (taking their relationship of love with very little understanding to it's most dramatic conclusion)
give the family a real reason to want to bring him back into the fold (feel bad about the lobotomy and it would be pretty immoral to let Jason waste away slowly and painfully because of something Bruce did)
capitalize on all the ways Jason is sympathetic (bc the addiction is a natural lead into his backstory, which is one of his most sympathetic elements)
And the ways in which he's very out of step with the bats post-resurrection (I'd be mad asf too if i came back to life just for my dad to a) not avenge me and b) LOBOTOMIZE ME meanwhile the cunt ass clown giving me my meds is just lurking out there).
Idk it's not a sophisticated pitch as of this moment but I think a real chef (writer) could cook something w/ this
#ramblings of a lunatic#do i maintag this#uhh#dc#that's enough i don't need to bother ppl with my brain dump#you made the mistake of asking /j#i hope it's not. too out of left field for what you were expecting? if you were expecting anything#this has just been rattling in my brain since i was venting about gotham war to a friend while sick a while ago#idk jasons a hot topic rn he's seemingly controversial atm but i think he's just some guy#he needs a little direction a little tlc like i said. but I've always found him interesting and i think this is at least an idea-#-for how to deal w/ jason post gotham war#tho who knows. with the new Summer Events on the horizon maybe jason will be rebooted again#and I'll go bald all at once like silver age lex luthor#not from chemicals in a lab accident but from stress at my ideas no longer having relevance#it happens more often than you'd think#the ideas thing. not me going bald. that's only sometimes#uhhh anyway hope this absolute behemoth text isn't too much. sorry i can't physically shut up#also ppl who know more about jason amd would like to say things (CONSTRUCTIVELY) on this post feel free!#(i say constructively because. I'm sensitive. mean comments make me cry)

having an idea for a game but it's miles above your skill level
#personal#elevator pitch: point and click 2d art-heavy narrative driven game. mc is a scientist in a closed off laboratory in a post apocalyptic worl#player plays as the mc going through a daily routine consisting of taking care of a few patients that are dying of#the zombie plant esque disease that has wiped out humanity. working towards breakthrough day. on which they should#hopefully have managed to recreate the exact circumstances in which patient zero got turned#in hopes to reverse engineer it into a cure#solving puzzles along the way to open up new locations within the labs to piece together what exactly went wrong in the first place#and like!!!!!!!! i know i could do this. realistically i know i could put a game like this together but it's just#the dev heavy stuff that is stopping me because well i am just a game artist JHDGJFDKGJDFGKFDG#all the patients are in different stages of infection and it's all affecting them differently because of different variables#only one of the patients is actually fully lucid and can be spoken to on the daily#but then on breakthrough day they end up taking their own life JUST like patient zero did exactly a year ago#and it turns out that despite showing little symptoms on the outside the plants were taking root inside of them#which has been foreshadowed through earlier gameplay with the patient feeling itchy but not being able to scratch the itch#and on breakthrough day the flowers inside of them bloomed... and it was unbearable so they used the gun that they took#a year ago from patient zero's body (their colleague) to end it all. and THAT is what ends up turning them into a plant zombie#and the player has been working towards getting into the labs where it all started to find patient zero's body and like#get access to the logs of their last few days. and after the patient in the present has passed they listen to the logs#while the credits roll. and patient zero describes very similar symptoms in the logs. and they also couldn't have been saved#ig the patients in this could be some sort of metaphor for like. how illness doesn't always come with (the same) symptoms for everyone#and how even if it's not visible on the outside someone might be struggling a lot etc etc. something in that direction#anyway hi does anyone here see my vision. do you understand what i'm going for. anyway yes i hope i can make it reality one day

happy pride month, im so glad to see people doing fun new varieties of ace discourse this year -_-
#that one post is really rekindling my 2016 urge to scroll through the ace tag and look at just how many people hate us#just saw a post unironically being like 'erm actually the ace discourse was justified bc all aces were homophobic and evil'#and called talking about how bad the ace hatred was 'rewriting history' or some shit#to the person who wrote that post: if youre hate scrolling the ace tag and happen to see this fuck you!!#and to all the people STILL pretending that being asexual somehow=being sex negative and eeeeevil: go die!#my fav thing about the ace discourse is how people rend the ace community in a wildly conflicting variety of directions#to really pin every possible sin on ace people's shoulders#it's just every goddamn thing#@ every single person whos like 'no no THIS time our hatred and exclusion of a marginalized group is for good and valid reasons'#I fucking hate your guts!#try growing as a person and not having your head so far up your ass maybe!#I refuse to even think about aro discourse bc by god it's always the dumbest shit you've ever seen#really throwing a dart at a wall of balloons labeled 'things to pretend aroace people do and get mad at them for'#I'm happy seeing everyone reblogging my greed pride post again this year. it's very nice seeing people be happy about pride and who they ar#but I'm feeling kind of down still seeing the same shit regurgitated nearly a decade later#just fucking let people define or choose not to define their own fucking experiences#how is that POSSIBLY still something you all have trouble with#year after goddamn year#fluffle talks#negative#happpppyyy pride#anyway if anyone happens to see my comments on that one post and comes to my blog#hello đ I hope you're having a nice night

Some of those doctors make hating oat milk their entire personality. I hate them. Cannot pretend to find them funny or like i give a shit. Fucking pretentious assholes
#also my colleague (the girl i had my shift with) is the exact opposite of me in all aspects. asked me if I'd ever worked in customer service#because i couldn't care less about being fake friendly to assholes and don't care if they like the service or not#like bitch those people don't have any other choice but drink our fucking coffee it's not like I'm competing with anyone#or like they pay us in any way. i get paid for doing the dumb work i have to do not for stroking some dumb ass doctors' egos#they come out of their rooms once an hour to get coffee and we have the cups on the table and i wouldn't even Think of#HANDING them the cups and smiling sweetly at them and asking 'coffee? tea?? :))'#I'll just assume these grown adults will get their stupid coffee or tea when they want some. it's not like they don't know where it is#(and i AM friendly and smile when someone is coming in our direction but why the fuck do you need to get so disgustingly friendly with them#if someone held up a cup asking if i.want some coffee I'd leave immediately even if i came just for coffee. it's creepy)#anyway. she's nice. I'm not.#there's normal people who will get their coffee and maybe ask if the milk in the little jug is cow milk to which I'll happily reply 'yes#:)'. then there's the other people who see the oat milk and make it clear they are the most insufferable people on the planet#(and i pity their patients so much. not much to choose from i guess but if i had that as a doctor I'd happily just die)#like everyone who took oatmilk could do it without making a fuss about the cow milk on the table. the cow milk lovers could never#'the oat milk is in front of the actual milk. this is unacceptable. i hate such healthy bullshit' lol okay#'OAT milk?? I'll leave this to the horses! THANK GOD you have actual milk!'#my favorite was the one who really took personal offense with its sheer presence. as if it had killed half of his patients lmao#'we had 50 patients with xyz problem. ALL of them drink oat milk. they cannot see the connection. it's really unhealthy'#at this point i just said i didn't care and stopped paying attention and he started complaining to his doctor colleague about how#oat milk is advertised to be healthy and how it's actually the opposite and i just find that very funny compared to the first comment#from that one guy who doesn't like such healthy bullshit. you guys need to find a consensus on the oatmilk issue i think. no one takes you#seriously if you contradict yourself like this. also i couldn't care less about the healthiness of the milk alternative of my choice. bitch.#next week I'll end up killing someone. i hope they all die from their cow milk. (but not the ones who took cow milk and didn't say anything#about the oat milk. they can continue living as they didn't annoy me)#void screams#some of these doctors were actually quite nice (most of them even). one even brought an applicant to us telling her to get some coffee#(which we are not allowed to give to applicants. but i don't care. I'd rather they get something than some of the asshole jury members#who hate oat milk (which is not the issue. the issue is them making it everybody else's issue that they don't like oat milk))
