lookism rant #1

so... it’s spring break. and i’ve spent the entire break doing what any smart ap student would do: ignoring my five looming ap tests and draining my phone battery by looking at webtoons and instagram. since most of my favorite webtoons are on hiatus, i have resolved to rereading my favorites, and one that i’ve reread the most so far is lookism. as spring break comes to a finish in two days, i decided to get my life back on track and instead of simply rereading the comic, i will rant about my most and least favorite characters starting with the fandom’s all-time favorite character (yes, if you check the wiki for lookism there is a poll and it is fact that he is the majority’s favorite), jay hong/hong jae yeol. (also, note that these are my opinions so if you disagree with them don’t be offended but i would be happy to hear other people’s opinions on the webtoon! please comment who would be on your list because i need to talk to more people who read lookism!)

top favorite characters~

1. jay hong/hong jae yeol:

let’s just list off reasons why everyone loves him: he is well-dressed (even plans out other people’s outfits), generous (gives daniel literally everything he wants), selfless (he fricking took in enu’s pups even though he is scared of dogs), RICH (main reason for kouji’s admiration), strong (manz uses his systema well), and CAN RIDE A MOTORCYCLE (yes, i love a man who can ride a bike). he may not be the most dynamic character, but his static puppy status makes it impossible for me to put him lower on this list. we honestly don’t know that much about his backstory and i am super curious about why his family relationships are so strained (except with his sister, joy). for now, he remains a mystery, but like an attractive mystery. overall, me -> ( ･_･)♡

2. zach lee/lee jin sung:

honestly hated this boi in the beginning because he was a big bully to daniel, but he has been through some SERIOUS character development. mira was a big part in this but i feel like overall his morals have changed so much even when mira isn’t around. he does still fight often, but now it’s not meaningless violence as he uses his boxing skills to defend his friends (ex: defending johan during the god dogs arc).

i also hated his eyebrows and hair in the beginning of the comic but like that’s personal preference. however, in the last few episodes, his hair looks SO GOOD (reference image above).

he is second on my list of favorite characters because i feel that his development throughout the story has been the most dynamic. he not only changed mentally as he overlooks lookism more (ex: he is not only friends with big daniel but also little daniel) but also physically as he doesn’t simply depend on his inherent talent for boxing but actually goes back and trains again in order to get better (to defend mira >.<)

in the future, i hope to see more development with his relationship with mira and his friends because i hold a lot of high hopes for this boi! ♥‿♥

3. vasco/lee eun tae/tabasco:

BIG CUTIE ENERGY ♥╣[-_-]╠♥! first off, he may not have as much long-term development over the course of the story like zach, but we do see a lot of his development with his own arc and bullying story. he was always a pure boi and his inherent innocence creates a discrepancy with his appearance which makes him more endearing in my opinion. the idea of lookism is very apparent in his character because most people look at him and see him as a gangster or someone very intimidating, but in reality his personality and mindset are very innocent (showing another way that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover). i honestly LOVED the scene in the god dogs arc in which he defended zach and daniel joins in because that friendship is GOLDEN. i love how he always strives to be stronger and more powerful to defeat the evil in the world because it shows that he truly cares about the weaker people and those impacted by lookism. in my opinion, i think that vasco and zach will end up being the most powerful in the story (but that’s my opinion)

4. mira kim/kim mi jin:

pure! cute! sweet! moral! (✿ ♥‿♥)! mira is just an all-around great gal that makes it impossible for me to find flaws with. although she isn’t super major in terms of daniel’s story, she does impact zach significantly and makes him a better person. like she is the sole reason that zach has become a character that i truly admire and like. (although she did think that daniel was the r-word when he tried hitting on her in the beginning of the story. but throughout the story we see that she isn’t really a person to judge people on looks and stuff as we see that she gives jasmine the benefit of the doubt even after the vasco fiasco)

5. yena/eli jang’s (jang hyun’s) daughter:

honestly too cute for words. like the episodes where zach and mira find her are my favorites so i just wanted to include her in my favorite character list. also, she seems to be a character that really impacts other characters (zach and eli really changed for her ಥ_ಥ)

least favorite characters~

park ji ho:

always doing dumb things and making it harder for the people around him. he tries too hard to be a part of the popular group and as zach said, he doesn’t really think of them as friends because he just thinks about what the benefits are for hanging out with daniel and co. i think we all went from being tolerant of jiho in the beginning and then hating him at the end. i especially hated how he kept blaming other people and yet not accepting when people were being friendly. especially during the fake bank account arc, he just brushed off daniel when he asked jiho if he wanted to go to the convenience store then jiho goes running back to daniel and his friends when he realizes his mistake. overall, -123912830/10.

2. james gong:

don’t even know where to start with this punk. very violent for very little reason! i know i stated before that i hate jiho but i still felt kinda bad for him when he realized that james had sold the bank account he made for him. just overall a very intimidating character that hurt zach (ﾉಥ益ಥ）ﾉ ┻━┻

3. jasmine huh:

needs to get her shit(ake) together. first off, she almost got vasco expelled from the school because of her lies. like big! red! flag! it seems that she really doesn’t care about other people (except james) and is willing to put so many other people at risk to save her own behind. also, i hate how she uses other people. like how she uses mira to make money when mira didn’t do anything wrong ヾ(ﾟдﾟ)ﾉ. i hope she one day realizes that her lies are gonna hurt so many other people and then herself.

4. heemin kim/zeus/creepy dude from the boot camp arc:

sexual assault is a big no in this household. i hate how he thinks that being handsome can defend him of his crimes! also, he broke zach’s arms which made me FLIP OUT. LIKE HOW DO YOU DARE TO HARM MY BOXER BOI. he also attacked mira, an actual angel ლ(ﾟдﾟლ). words can’t describe how much i hate this man but numbers can -> 0/10

5. logan lee/lee tae sung:

big bully energy. he needs to lay his hands off of everyone (especially zoe!). blackmail? big no go in this household. he also dumped his plate of food on mira? BIG NO GO! he needs to get his life together and realize that people don’t hate him because he’s “ugly,” it’s because he has THE WORST PERSONALITY!

6. strong contenders for least favorite: stalker girl, animal cruelty cat mom/hoarder, zoe’s stalker

characters that i need more information about to form stronger opinions about~

vin jin/jin ho bin:

dislike him because he abused enu but also want to know more about him. big bully energy but i feel like he has a deep backstory behind him so i want to know more. why did he quite judo? why does he wear sunglasses? hope he gets over his superiority complex and changes because i feel like he has a lot of potential.

2. eli jang/jang hyun:

so far, very cute and strong is all i have to say about him. also, he is a good dad like that scene where he put out that god dog’s cigarette? MAJOR PROPS TO YOU ELI. i’m very curious about his backstory as well because it seems that he was a contender for gun’s successor but he changed drastically to take care of yena. i also just love a man with good hair sooo…

3. jong gun + joon goo:

i want to know more about these two! like what’s their backstory? why did gun create the 4 big crews? why was goo sent to the juvenile detention center before? (look at vasco’s bullying arc for reference) why did gun leave goo alone with the money collection? overall very mysterious and i want to learn more.

random characters that just deserve appreciation~

crystal choi/choi soo jung:

we stan a strong female character. however, i don’t like how she is immediately prejudiced against handsome men in the beginning of her appearance. i think over time she’ll realize that her prejudice isn’t right and her experience as someone who has to deal with lookism doesn’t justify her immediate judgements. however, we need more female fighters in this story so she is a big yes.

2. duke pyeon:

WE STAN A MAN WHO FOLLOWS HIS DREAMS DESPITE BEING BULLIED AND JUDGED. yes, we stan.

3. daniel park/park hyung suk:

honestly, he’s a great character and all, but i don’t know if he could ever reach favorite character status. i just have a mindset that makes me unable to pick the protagonist as a favorite character because i feel like they are sometimes created specifically to just bring the story together. don’t get me wrong, he’s a great person, defends his friends, and doesn’t fight for no reason, but i feel like there isn’t anything super special about his personality (other than the fact that he has two bodies but like so does crystal). he also looks like kim seokjin in his new body which is a big plus.

4. inu/enu + inu/enu’s pups:

i love dogs

5. mary kim/idk her korean name someone help me:

strong female character? i think yes. honestly such a fav. she doesn’t take sh*t from vin jin and i honestly want to know more about her character and background. *spoiler alert* i read ahead in the korean version and saw that she can beat people up too so like… she’s a bada**.

6. kouji:

as a person interested in computer science, I STAN. i also love a man with good hair. his cocky personality is sometimes off-putting but honestly his confidence is endearing at times. also we both love money!

7. jace park/park bum jae:

during vasco’s bullying story, i was so sad when he left vasco, but i love how he realized that he should’ve been a better friend and has stuck with vasco after all of this time. also love how he listens to vasco and tries to make him happy even when he knows that vasco does some silly things (like planting durian seeds in korea)

8. zoe park/park ha neul:

i love her development! she still fights with herself over whether she should like big daniel or small daniel, which displays her internal conflict with lookism. over time she has stopped judging people solely on their appearance and she is even able to distinguish between daniel and his cousin! (in my opinion, if daniel doesn’t end up with jay he better end up with zoe instead)

9. daniel’s (hyung suk’s) mother:

ICON! WE NEED TO APPRECIATE OUR PARENTS MORE! I AM A BIG STAN! SHE WORKS HARD FOR DANIEL AND IT BREAKS MY HEART WHEN DANIEL DOESN’T REALIZE!

10. song johan:

deserved better. he was just trying to help his mom which makes him so pure! but i feel like he should realize that he has friends (zach and mira) that could help him get through his problems! overall, want to see more of him and i hope he develops even more.

Mistborn book 2 - The Well of Ascension part 2.0 chapters 12-19 - first read

[Spoilers for the chapters covered and all previous chapters]

Predictions:

•Where to begin? Who got body snatched? Would the kandra know to imitate Spook’s Eastern street slang, and laugh at Breeze’s story about poisoning the camp’s water supply? Probably not. Breeze noted that Ham’s sense of humor was getting worse, could it be him? Clubs didn’t seem too suspicious to me, so that means it’s most likely him, but if I had to choose right now, I’d probably say Dockson, since he didn’t appear in that last chapter. Ooo, the real kick in the head would be if it was Elend. Was Vin ever away from him long enough? No, it’s not him.

•We still don’t have an identity for the Watcher, but I still say it’s Reen. Except, it’s more likely to be a new character we’ve never met before.

•Will Marsh betray Sazed? Yes...yes he will.

Part 2.0: Ghosts in the Mist (chapters 12-19)

Chapter 12

Marsh and Sazed reach Seran. They go down into the fortress. Marsh is certain it is empty, but isn’t sure why. They explore it. Sazed records his observations into a coppermind. “You should not care about the Inquisitors. They are not worthy of your record.” Marsh seems to be ashamed of the Inquisitors. So far he’s defying my expectations. I don’t know how to feel about this.

They split up. Sazed finds a stairway and goes further down. He finds a wall that has text scratched into it. It is the writing of Kwaan, quotes of which are at the beginning of each chapter. He begins to read it, when Marsh comes back to him, and says it was a mistake to come here, and that they should leave. Sazed convinces him to let him take charcoal rubbings of the etchings.

I spent the entire chapter waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it never did. They haven’t left yet, so there’s still time for things to go south in the next Sazed chapter. However, I have to admit perhaps I have misjudged Marsh, and I have no clue where the story will go from here. I still find him creepy, and I’m not sure I’ll ever fully trust him, but this chapter has eased my mind about him a little bit. On the other hand, he felt inexplicably drawn here, and after they got here he seemed agitated and wanted to leave. I’m not sure what to make of that. There may be more going on here than meets the eye.

I wonder what the rest of Kwaan’s text will say?

Chapter 13

Vin questions OreSeur to find out what she can learn about kandras, to see if she can figure out who the impostor is. Some questions he answers willingly, some he has to be commanded to answer, and some he won’t answer even if she commands him. “The kandra is a spy, sent to gather information for another human.” Ham, Dockson, Clubs, and Spook all have hours unaccounted for, so none of them can be ruled out. An Allomancer can’t Riot or Soothe the emotions of a kandra. Kandra can’t use Allomancy.

“Then I may leave? ...You do not wish to command me, so our Contract is dissolved?” It’s claimed that kandra are great actors, but I feel at certain points in this conversation, such as this one, OreSeur misunderstands Vin. Can they really be so convincing if they misunderstand the humans they are supposed to be infiltrating? Or is it just the relationship between these two particular characters that causes misunderstanding. Vin has trouble understanding OreSeur, so it goes both ways, I suppose.

She asks OreSeur what he loves and hates, but he doesn’t want to say. She tells him she loves the mists, the power, the freedom. She hates being afraid.

Vin feels the bronze pulse that she felt when she encountered the misty figure. She finds it inside a building. She asks it, “Why have you been watching me?” It seems to disappear, but then it attacks her, grabbing her arm. She falls out the window. Flaring metal, she survives the fall. OreSeur asks if she needs assistance, but she shakes her head and runs away.

Elend is meeting with Breeze, Ham, Spook, Dockson, and Clubs. “Any of these men could be an impostor, Elend thought. The thought still seemed insane to him.” This section is an Elend POV, so that rules him out as the impostor. They talk about how they are going to deal with the two armies. After discussing different possibilities, Elend says he wants to get the two armies to attack each other.

The guard, Captain Demoux interrupts to say the guards caught someone eavesdropping on the meeting. It was a Terriswoman that Elend recognized from being at the assembly. She wants to speak to Elend alone. When the others hesitate, she says the Mistborn outside the window should be able to deal with her.

Chapter 14

The Terriswoman admits she lied about Vin being outside the window. She begins instructing Elend to be more commanding and kingly. She says the people don’t respect him, and so he needs to demand respect if he is going to be a leader. Her name is Tindwyl.

Vin comes back, and Tindwyl leaves. Vin doesn’t like what giving up the kingdom would do to Elend. Vin asks Elend what he knows about the Deepness. She is worried about the misty figure, but reluctant to tell Elend, because he didn’t believe her last time. When he leaves, she sees mist outside the window. “I will not fear you...and I will find your secret.”

Chapter 15

Eight days after leaving Seran, Sazed wakes up alone. Marsh is gone. Grrrr Marsh, what are you up to? Don’t break my not-quite-trust so soon. Sazed decides to go without him. He comes to a village. He can smell death coming from it. “These people had died of starvation and dehydration.”

“I must be mistaken about the starvation...it must have been a plague...a disease.” He finds one living man. He is terrified of going outside because of the mist. He says that the mist didn’t go away after a few hours; that it stayed for days; weeks. The mist let some get away, but killed others. Once again, my guess is that this is an effect of the Deepness. The man had turned to cannibalism to survive. Sazed pulls the man outside, and he runs away.

Sazed realizes something is very wrong in the world. He puts on a steelmind with months worth of strength stored in it to run quickly to Luthadel.

Chapter 16

Vin looks through the logbook of the Hero, looking for clues of the misty figure, and of the Deepness. Seems like she is about to, if she hasn’t already, come to the same conclusion I did about the mist and the Deepness. She finds a passage that describes a dark thing that follows him, perhaps made of a black fog, or mist. The references to the Deepness make it clear that it is dangerous, killing thousands, but not saying what it is.

She comes across a page where the Hero says that he has to assume he is not mad, that the thing following him is real, and he must make the decision to continue on his quest. Vin determines she must make the same choice.

Tindwyl has Elend try on a military style uniform, and tells him he can’t wear anything else until the siege is over. She tells him, “a good king is one who is trusted by his people—and one who deserves that trust.”

Chapter 17

Elend and Vin go to meet the messenger Straff sent, and Vin recognizes him as the Watcher. His name is Zane. So is that his real name, or an alias? At least we now have a name besides just “the Watcher.” He says Straff wants Elend to meet at Straff’s tent. Elend tells Zane he will think about it.

Later that night while Vin is out doing her rounds, Zane shows up. They have a showdown, with some chasing and some sparring. Vin realizes he is better at Allomancy than she is, and so she wants to continue sparring with him to hone her skills.

Chapter 18

Zane hears the voice of “God” telling him to kill any person he sees. He ignores it most of the time. He knows he is insane, but can mostly keep it under control. He is Elend’s half brother, but his existence was kept secret. He considers himself a weapon. He thinks Vin’s senses are better than any Allomancer he has ever fought. A spy left him a message. I’m guessing that’s the kandra.

Well, so far my predictions aren’t very accurate (aside from Vin being badass, that’s always true). The Watcher isn’t Reen; Marsh hasn’t betrayed Sazed (yet). I’m sure everyone is laughing at me. I’m sure I’ll be laughing at myself once I finish the series and look back at these.

Zane meets with Straff. A servant girl had wanted to kill Straff, so Zane helped her poison his tea. Straff is able to smell the poison, so he has the girl executed, then drinks the tea anyway. He asks what the spy said. Zane says that the spy thinks he is suspected by the others, and he hasn’t found out anything about the atium.

After Zane leaves, Straff calls for a former mistress who is good with herbs. He had drank the poison just to show Zane he isn’t weak. He has her make a remedy to counteract the poison.

Straff is awful, especially when it comes to women. I kind of hope Zane gives in to the voice he hears when he’s around Straff one of these times. How did Elend turn out to be so decent with this thing for a father?

Chapter 19

On his way back to Luthadel, Sazed encounters an army of large blue humanoid creatures known as koloss. He spies on them from the distance at the top of a tree, but as he finishes, he realizes that some have entered the grove of trees where he is hiding. They surround him, and one tells him to come down. Weighing his options, he decides he probably won’t be able to escape, so he drops down out of the tree. Koloss are violent creatures, attacking and killing each other with little provocation. They lead Sazed through the army to a tent, which is guarded by humans.

Inside the tent is a man Sazed recognizes as a friend of Elend, Jastes Lekal. He calls himself king Lekal. He is headed to Luthadel, and he knows about the other armies, claiming he will give Elend a better deal than Cett or Straff will. Jastes wants Sazed to serve him, but Sazed is able to talk Jastes into letting him go.

As far as plot lines where people get captured go, this went rather smoothly. It didn’t last more than a chapter, and Sazed was able to talk his way out of it.

So we meet the orcs/trollocs of this story*: big, ugly, bloodthirsty brutes hellbent on destruction. A complaint I’ve seen about trollocs is that they started out being scary, but as the protagonists leveled up in power they turned into cannon fodder**. Will the koloss suffer the same fate, or will they stay dangerous throughout the books? My guess is Vin will wipe them out just by staring them down.

(*and I was doing so good about not referencing other series in this entry, just to blow it at the end.)

(**I’m not sure I agree with that complaint. Tarmon Gai’don got pretty hairy for the light side just by the sheer number of shadow spawn)

A/N There was a prompt ages ago about the Sides all having the same name and not being related...and I can’t find it so if someone does please link me so I can give the proper credit to the brilliant mind who thought of it first!

Shoot! He was going to be late on his first day!

The sun threatened to bake Virgil like his oven had the cookies he and Patton made last night. The fiery ball of death wasn’t as kind and sweet as his best friend though, and even if both could manage to make his skin burn with red, the sun did it out of retaliation and violence. It wasn’t his fault his skin incessantly betrayed him. It was out of his control! Fearing the irritation, he fled from his safe haven. He managed to briskly maneuver out of his dorm and into the science building before any marks could be made. Late late late! What was he thinking!? Sleeping in like that...he knew he’d be late and he went through with it anyway! Clad in all black and his purple hoodie, he followed behind one of his fellow peers. There was no way he was going to be late today, that was for sure. He hadn't been late before, and he was certain his Physics professor wouldn’t let it slide.

The man in front of him peered over his shoulder, cool earthy tones meeting his dark chocolate irises. A smirk twisted up his face, yet it was precise rather than menacing. He adjusted his large square frames. “I see you are prompt with your arrival this morning.”

“I’m trying,” Virgil chuckled, speeding up slightly so he could walk beside the one he was speaking to despite his labored breathing. He wasn’t one for conversations, but this guy seemed really...calm. That was a first.

“And you are succeeding. At this rate you will arrive early.”

Silence hung above their heads, feet tapping against the cool polished floors beneath them. Up the stairs, make a left, and at the end of the hall they arrived at their destination. Virgil could sense the other's aura as sophisticated and clear, which was quite refreshing to relish in. The man outstretched a firm hand, “Logan Sanders. Pleased to make your acquaintance.”

Sanders?

“I didn’t think my last name was that common.” Virgil mumbled more to himself than the other, baffled over the phenomenon. Heh. Who knew? He took his hand. “Virgil Sanders.”

The other’s pristine eyebrows shot up. “It seems we have a conundrum. There appears to be three Sanders students attending this college, with the same colored hair and eyes no less.” His fingers hooked under his chin in thought, “Our jaw structures appear to be similar as well, and we share similar freckles across our cheeks. Yet we are all ‘brothers of other mothers.’ Intriguing.”

“I didn't know you knew Patton.”

Logan’s shock amplified on his face. “Oh? There is another? I was referring to my nonsensical theater major roommate Roman Sanders.”

Virgil’s smile grew. “Oh my roommate’s Patton Sanders! Nice guy, pretty infectious with his kindness. I wouldn't be surprised if you knew him.”

“Are his energy levels...extensive? If so I believe I've heard of him, but we never held a proper conversation before.”

Virgil shivered, “Sometimes he can be a lot, but I know he means well.”

“Well, this is...quite intriguing,” Logan laughed, nodding in acknowledgement. “From one Sanders to another, I look forward to speaking with you again. Though I must warn you, I am not one for social interactions. I'm afraid I'm quite terrible at them.”

“Oh trust me, I loathe people with a passion.” A smile seeped through Virgil's persona. “But...you’re not that bad Logan.”

“Likewise, Virgil.”

Someone pinch him he was dreaming.

The professor was on paternity leave, so the college had to have another professor fill in until he returned. This guy also looked similarly to all the other Sanders in the room. Oh, Virgil couldn’t wrap his head around it. He hoped his last name wasn't Sanders too. That would be too perfect.

A-And...Patton was in this class!? Since when??!!

“Virge hey!”

Patton Sanders: cutie pie number one and most trustworthy best friend of all time. Without him, Virgil wouldn’t be the man he became, and he certainly wouldn’t be as happy. Patton was the kind of dude who’d always have your back even if times were tough, and his personality could soothe even the strictest beings on any planet. If the world was ending, Patton should be protected at all costs. Without Patton, reality would be unbearable to live in. This world's beacon...chose to sit beside Virgil of all people. Virgil!

“I tried getting you up this morning, but you wouldn't budge,” he giggled, “So I let you sleep in a bit. You really needed the rest kiddo. I'm proud of you for finally getting it! Classes can be hard but you're doing your best, and that's what matters. And you matter. The only thing that doesn't matter is energy!”

Typically he'd be upset if someone didn't wake him up, but it was impossible to have any bitter emotions towards his own definition of perfect. He allowed a chuckle to slip past his lips over the pun. “Thanks Pat.”

“Anytime!”

Virgil hated being selfish, but he'd give anything to keep Pat by his side for the rest of his life. Not because he was compassionate and breathtaking...even though those traits were quite a treat too. No, Patton was more than that. It was impossible to explain how...but he just...was. He understood Virgil better than anyone else! Sure he could do that with anyone, but he chose to invest his effort in a closeted emo jerkbag.

Virgil never imagined being cared for in such an honest way.

“Morning guys gals and non-binary pals! Settle in your seats please.”

Scraping chairs and hushed murmurs filled the room with white noise Virgil could care less about. This guy sounded like the least professional person on Earth, yet he had a firm aura about him. Virgil was intrigued. Finally, a professor who didn't seem like a total dickwad.

“I'm Professor Sanders-”

The whole class groaned immediately.

This didn't amuse the new guy whatsoever. “What seems to be the problem?”

“The whole world is literally taken over by Sanders people,” a kid groaned, earning a glare from Virgil, “And they're all in this class. I'm surprised I'm not one at this point. It's like a disease you can't get rid of.”

Virgil nearly skyrocketed from his chair at Logan's sudden outburst. “I'm sorry our last names are a hindrance to your daily entertainment, but it does not affect your education or health, therefore eradicating the ridiculous notion that the same name owned by five people in the same room can even remotely compare to a catastrophic illness of any kind! I suggest you rethink your wording before you allow such intense accusations to frivolously fly from your ignorant flapping gums again.”

“Jeez it was just a comment. Don't get so uptight.”

“Like you have any idea how it feels.” Patton growled, cheeks flushed and paired with a glare that sent tremors down Virgil's spine.

“Woah Pat,” he whispered under his breath, eyes not leaving his best friend even when he was caught red handed. But Patton just smiled like he always did, booping Virgil's nose with his index finger. That made a smile creep up his face. Way to lighten the mood buddy.

“So I take it this is your way of loathing attendance? I'll keep that in mind.” Professor Sanders chuckled, “Speaking of attendance, is Raleigh Ackles here?”

“Present!” A ginger girl cheered, arm shot up like a firework.

“Excellent energy! How about Vincent Applebottom?”

“Yo. Just call me Vin. Like Vin Diesel, but without the Diesel.”

“Noted.”

Virgil nearly fell asleep twice. It always took ages to get to the S's. And with this class, there were a lot.

The professor found this out very quickly.

“Alright. Now for the fun section.” He smiled brightly, “Logan Sanders.”

“Present and healthy as ever.” The smirk on his face made Virgil chuckle.

“Patton Sanders.”

“Yuppers!” He giggled, waving at the teacher with all the energy his body could produce.

Virgil smiled when he waved back with just as much energy. This guy seemed great, and...for once that wasn't sarcastic.

“Roman Sanders.”

“Here and queer!” A somewhat tanner and thinner version of Virgil raised an elegant hand.

“Same!” The professor laughed. “And last but not least, Virgil Sanders.”

“I'm here. Let's go to sleep.” He groaned.

There were many positive cheers. Oh the joys of constant stress and late nights. Probably the only things he related with other people. Woohoo.

“It's morning so...absolutely not.”

“Darn.”

Other students mourned their losses...of sleep. Or snickered at him. Yeah...nothing new. Cowards. Why not laugh at his face, huh?

“You tried kiddo,” Patton rubbed his back, “You can take a nap when we get back to the dorm.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Virgil smiled lazily, easily distracted with the radiant guy beside him.

Physics was physics. D=IRT stuff. More like D=IRriTation. Virgil wasn't the best at math, but he was better at it than some...at least. He wasn't really good at much...now that he thought about it. Logan seemed like a smart guy, Patton was the sweetest sunshine, and the other guy…oh shoot what was his name? Well, the extra one. You know, the one applying glitter lip gloss in the middle of class? How extra could you get? Anyway, the other Sanders seemed to be his own character. Made himself important in his own way. Even the teacher was impressive, keeping energy in a class of tired young adults. So...what was Virgil? He certainly wasn't any of that. He had nothing to offer to society...like he cared. Society can go-

“Make sure you complete this assignment by next class,” Professor Sanders said firmly, “And yes, it will be graded. You'll find out very quickly that the homework is heavy on points.”

“And th-the tests?” A girl quivered in her seat.

Oh no.

The professor's baritone voice rumbled in an inhuman...laugh? Could it be considered such? Venom seeped from his parted lips, eyes half lidded in a possessive manner that had every student trembling along with the girl who asked. Who was this guy!? Virgil froze in horror, heart beating against his chest for escape, but it was trapped in a frozen shell.

“Oh...you'll see.”

Virgil grabbed for Patton's hand on top of his desk, wide eyes finding...calm orbs of light. Ah, okay. If Pat was okay then...then it won't be bad. His fingers curled over the other's warmth, absorbing the heat and calm. Everything was okay.

“I got you,” his sunshine whispered, “I won't let go.”

“I-I'll be okay.” Virgil breathed. “This is stupid-”

“No it's not. No feelings are stupid. You will...be okay and...I'm here even when you get there and don't really need me anymore. Promise?”

“I'll always need you. You're my best friend.”

A light glimmered in his eye, uplifting Virgil's spirits.

“Let's eat those cookies after classes end.” Pat smiled, lacing their fingers in a net of warmth and comfort.

“Yeah.”

There was something eating at Virgil. Something dark.

Something unknown.

What a boring day.

Virgil barely lasted through last period. Not only were the rest of his classes without Patton, but he had to share a creative writing course with...Roman. That was his name. Good job Virge! You're finally getting the hang of it! Home was more important though, and he looked forward to taking that nap.

And hey, that Logan guy was in his algebra class. His rants were entertaining to listen to...and zone out of. His voice was so soothing and monotonous, it lulled him to sleep. If only he lived with the guy. He'd probably-

WAIT

Virgil physically stopped in his tracks as he recollected the events of last period:

“I value beauty sleep more than my own life! It comes with ease and fanciful dreams!” Roman nearly swooned over his own words.

“Do you only speak in rhymes?” Virgil scoffed.

“Not always, Moonlight.” He sighed, eyes twinkling as they locked on Virgil's. “It just comes out when you're in my sights.”

“Don't call me that.”

“You're no fun.”

A tremor shook his spine. That conversation was...uncomfortable. He was way too intense.

But yeah, go back to what Logan said earlier:

“I was referring to my nonsensical theater major roommate Roman Sanders.”

IT ALL MADE SO MUCH SENSE NOW!

Roman that bastard! No wonder he could sleep well! He was cheating!

“Natural beauty sleep my ass.” he mumbled under his breath.

But he had someone they didn't: Patton.

His best friend who stayed up with him and made sleepless nights into beautiful memories. The light of his life even in the dark...especially in the dark. The embodiment of sweetness whose hugs were angelic and holy. Patton. Patton.

Virgil reached for the kno-

The door was locked.

It was never locked when Patton was home.

He. Should. Be. Home.

“Breathe Virgil.” He gasped, clutching at his chest. “Remember to breathe. He's probably out doing some club related thing.”

That's right. Patton was the president of the K.A.B (Kind And Bright) club this year. How could he forget?

Uneasiness remained in his stomach, but he felt a little less panicked over the situation.

It lessened even more when he found the note hung on the fridge;

Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be out until 6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The door will be locked just in case. We can share those cookies when I come home ❤. “You're quite the artist,” Virgil chuckled to himself, relaxing instantly as he maneuvered towards the couch. He felt much better knowing Patton wasn't in danger. But, he still deserved a nice flop. Screw the springs of the couch! They were almost as crummy as society itself.

So you know what you do with that information?

Flop!

Despite his little rebellious speech, the springs were actually durable. Huh. Interesting. For crummy college dorms this was actually a comfortable couch. His body flopped perfectly, not heavy enough to break the furniture...but also not too light to bounce back up. Virgil was very intrigued and pleased with the couch. They could be buddies if this keeps up.

And it did...for two hours.

It was in the form of a nice nap.

The door opening startled him from his peaceful slumber.

“Aww you took that nap! How cuute~!” Patton cooed, closing the door behind him. “If only I had my camera ready.”

“I'm glad you didn't.” Virgil grumbled, sitting up so he could stretch and yawn with ease. His muscles warmed from the pressure.

His other source of warmth pouted, crossing his arms. “Memories are meant to look back on. Without pictures it's difficult.”

“But then you'll remember my ugly face and trust me Pat, no one wants that. Not even you. You’re so good and perfect and I’m just-”

“That is enough out of you!”

H-Huh?

Virgil blinked, eyes wide as Patton's anger nearly blinded him into an alternate reality. He'd seen him irritated before, but...not like this.

It disappeared as soon as it had arrived.

“I uh...sorry about that,” Patton coughed, cheeks flushed. “Rough day. I didn't mean to snap at you…I swear.”

“It's okay.”

You know those people that live off of hugs? The ones that need them all the time in order to feel safe? Pat was one of those people, and Virgil thought it was a curse at first. He cared for the guy but...he hated hugs. He always felt trapped in a cage of limbs. But then he experienced one of Patton's hugs and...his world spun in a new direction.

He looked forward to each one.

The minute he opened his arms, tears streamed down Patton's cheeks.

Oh boy.

Virge wasn’t good with tears, especially Patton’s. He hated seeing him cry.

Don't cry. Don't you dare. Pat needs you. Be the constant he's always been for you. Don't let him down again.

“I missed you so much.” he sobbed, jumping in his arms. “I-I…I tried so h-hard to…”

“I missed you too.” Virgil smiled, resting his lips against the top of his head. “You did so good today. I'm proud of you Pat.”

But the tears crashed harder into his shirt. “Th-They hate me Virge! I know they do!”

“I'll physically fight them.”

A watery laugh escaped his lips, “B-But that’s my job for you.”

“You’re my best friend too.” Virgil pressed a soft kiss against his head. “An eye for an eye, ya know? And the best part? I want that. We aren’t forced to be this way.”

This was a bittersweet bliss. Holding Patton in his arms gave him so much energy, so much warmth. It invigorated him, but the moment would be sweeter had he not gotten hurt. He yearned to pummel them into next week, but if he actually beat them up...his light could go out.

“I’m sorry…” Patton whispered, puffy eyes meeting his. “You had a rough day too and...you don’t deserve all this mess.”

“You’re right, I don’t deserve this.”

He knelt in front of Patton, smiling sadly as he brushed the bangs away from his eyes. “I never deserved you, ever since the first day we met. You’re so much better than me in so many ways, and I’m...well...without you I’d be that troubled teen pent up with rage.”

He chuckled at the memory, slightly embarrassed over how brash he’d been. Young Virgil was much more rebellious and temperamental. Every little thing set him off...but then Patton bumped into him and...everything sort of fell into place. That guy was stubborn. No matter what Virgil threw at him, he always had some sunshine to give...and it managed to melt the punk into mush.

Now he was just walking mush.

And he liked it.

Loved it.

“You changed me for the better and...you deserve better. So much better and yet...you stayed.”

Don’t cry Sanders. Don’t you fucking cry.

“Aw of course I stayed! I’d be crazy not to. You’re sweeter than you give yourself credit for and...you say I saved you?” Patton giggled, “If anything you saved me. I wasn’t in a good place when we met and...well...you taught me how to be stronger. I’m much better than I was!”

“I’ll always be there for you. No matter what Pat I swear on my life. I’ll never leave you.”

“Promise?”

“I do.”

Each day ticked by, unrelenting and unforgiving...but Virgil never broke his promise. Each expression exchanged was payment towards a beautiful, undeserving life. He gazed up at the moon, softly smiling at the sky above. Stars glittered the void, once deceiving...but each year gave him more understanding. Patton said they were like little nightlights the angels used to find each other whenever they got lonely. It was a comforting thought, even if Virgil didn’t understand what he meant back then. Even through the confusion and ignorance, Virgil never left...and neither did Patton. They were tied together with an invisible string.

They finally understood. Virgil could see vivid color, and Patton’s smiles could widen to their full capacities. The desperate yes that slipped past his lips with steady streams seeping through thick dark cotton. Virgil never left...never wanted to leave. And he didn’t. He never did.

It led them into a dream that could have lasted forever.

After completing their scholarly journeys, they bound themselves together with white roses and well-awaited I dos, making their promise stronger. Life was...made of purpose. Virgil’s purpose was always Patton, and they way he practically glowed as he walked down the aisle with Professor Sanders…it was something he’d never want to forget. His husband to be truly was the most beautiful man alive.

And after that?

There were times when that promise almost broke, usually due to Virgil saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, or Patton had a bad day and needed extra attention. But it was those same instances that brought about the best heart to hearts, and they relied heavily on each other until the end of time.

Yes...there was an end.

And it was in this moment that Virgil could smile with dripping nostalgia, leaning his cheek against the cool stone beside him:

Patton Sanders

The brightest Sanders of them all.

“I hope you’re able to find the other angels Pat,” he whispered, adjusting the flowers in their vase with his wrinkled hand, “The stars don’t seem bright enough. Not as bright as you. They’re so lucky to be able to be to you. I’m not too far away...so...wait for me...promise?”

Virgil greeted darkness with a wide smile and white rose in his hand.

“I promise.”

We didn’t see them, but there’s a good chance, Valkerie, Korg, and Meek are dead as well

Like Thanos whole thing is that he kills half of wherever, so maybe he took a fraction of them prisoner, but STILL!

“We have a hulk”, reminds me of when the first Avengers came out, Chris said at some carpet interview he wished Loki was an Avenger

Some people were wondering why Heimdall sent Hulk to Earth, I personally thought it was that he was sent to warn them

HEIMDALL! LOKI!(I’m glad I got over my crush on him, I would’ve been ever more distraught than I already was)

Thor just clinging to his brother as the ship blows up, he’s lost everything, he’s broken.

‘Groot’ is an Asgardian elective

Love how the series messes with expectations, such as Dwarfs being the closer to the size of Frost Giants

Groot stepping up to the plate and making the handle

Steve having a total Batman moment with that train

Alot of people pointed put that he ditched the star on his chest and the ‘A’ on his shoulder, but i don’t think anyone mentioned that he never wore his helmet either

Not gonna lie, when I saw promo art for Natasha, my first thought was ‘TRAITOR!’ (I have red hair)

“Arrest them” “Yes Sir” *hangs up”

So that’s why Clint and Scott weren’t in any of the promos

I know it’s horrifying, but that was a really cool perspective shot they did with Nebula

I was actually nervous that the cloaked figure was Death, and they had decided to make her a man, but then RED SKULL!!

After so many movies, I thought they decided not to do anything with that cliffhanger.. but NOPE

PLEASE don’t let that be a permanent death, Quill has lost enough already, and obviously Gamora deserves so much better

“We can’t just wing it” “That’s kind of our whole thing”

“Why was she up there the whole time?”

Then Wanda joins in! (my gay heart couldn’t handle it)

*Thor shows up* “Oh now you’re screwed”

Bucky just picking up Rocket and doing a spinning machine gun attack

“I am so getting that arm”

“Yeah you look a Thanos”

I remember after the credits started, I heard the guy next to me say, “All that could have been avoided if Quill hadn’t punched Thanos’’ But that is Quill’s character, he’s always been emotion-driven, it was because of his emotions that he saved the day in both of his movies(Illogically grabbing the stone, using his ‘heart’)

“I’ve got you! And you! I’m sorry I don’t remember your names!”

“If you throw another moon at me I’m gonna kick your ass”

Wanda having to kill the love of her life, just for it to be pointless

“Steve?”

Wanda didn’t even seem to care when she died

When T’Challa went to help up Okoye, I was expecting her to ‘dust’, but then he did, the look of pure horror/confusion on her face

Rhodey searching for Sam(also just how they were constantly looking out for each other in the battle)

I see alot of people saying how sad it was Tony watching his adopted son die(and while I agree) I feel like they’re looking over the other adopted son dying scene: Rocket and Groot

The way Groot says his line almost like question but also with a hint of fear to it(As with every movie, props to Vin Diesel, for being able to portray so many emotions with one line) And Rocket just quietly going "No, oh, no-no-no”

Steve just saying ‘Dear God’’, anyone else think he was starting to pray

What’s going to happen when Rocket finds out he’s the only one left

“There was no other way” anyone else suspect that was Dr. Strange admitting that there was never a future where they won.

Peter sounding so scared when he knew what was coming, the way he was just clinging to Tony, hoping he could fix it.

That scene with Thanos sitting on the hill reminded me of that quote from someone’s dream-Obama: “To become God is the loneliest achievement there is’’

The after credits/Captain Marvel teaser was cool, but I will admit I was a little disappointed, cause I was expecting/hoping it would be Coulson

All the original Avengers are still alive(Hawkeye is unknown)

Everyone thought Steve and/or Tony would die, possibly Tony would die saving Peter, how wrong we were...

I suspect everyone who dusted will come back, due to several of them having sequels planned.

I also think Gamora will come back(though that’s more of a hope), like maybe they’ll use some excuse where, only she can be revived, cause she’s the only one whose body is intact.(Heimdall and Loki blew up, the stones may be destroyed, so Vision might not come back)

Where is Shuri? Last we saw her was when Vision was attacked, I feel they would have shown if she dusted. They’re obviously not going to get everyone back right away, so that leaves her as the next ruler of Wakanda

I assume all the movies planned to come out before the next part will be set before this, but I wonder how the TV shows will work around it. They can’t all go on a X amount of years hiatus (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was setting up Thanos’ arrival, so they certainly can’t pretend their a couple years behind)

Canadian terror army soldiers occupy a dwelling somewhere, they live among everyone else in the neighborhoods and apartment complexes, trailer parks, and in homeless camps, rest homes, motels.

Third Amendment has been weaponized by the terror army, where the regulatory agencies are managed by elected public officials, who maintain the facade of perceived rules that were designed for the better of the common good, and safety of the people. The facade is difficult to see through, gets increasingly more opaque as time passes, elections take place, shill SAG leadership is elected, and ruled are broken in effort to advance the takeover of the nation. Every residence has turned into a place where third amendment is violated by the terror army, not US military.

As the citizens are killed, their recreational and other vehicles begin to pile up. There is surplus RV campers, motor-homes, travel trailers. They get parked illegally at residences that have been hijacked in the neighborhoods. Mobil and stationary terror soldiers always can find a place to stay in one of thousands of such RV’s that are distributed around the counties, while the elected officials look the other way when complaints are made about the trailer park that is growing in size next door, and people keep staying in them, invading not just privacy, but use those places to invade with physical attack. The attack is often done with menacing aggravation of a marked victim, a frame for crime when a set-up is done. Those elected officials participate by allowing zoning violations to continue, as the terror army occupies the distributed trailers and motor-homes.

On this account here, you can read about daily experiences I face resultant of a few travel trailers that are around the area, occupied by murderous terror soldiers, many of them are from out of town, show up, use the accommodations that were arranged for them by the shill SAG officials. There are permanent murderous terror soldiers at he Monroe’s next door to the north, and the neighbor house to the south is more like a revolving door of different terror cells that come to kill me, and take my property. The Monroe’s serve as a host distraction and work in association to mobile terror cells who are temporary at the neighboring houses.

There are many thousands of travel trailers in the yards around this rural area. Some residences have three, or four of them in the yards. All are places where terror soldiers can and do stay from time to time. All of those travel trailers and motor-homes belonged to a US Citizen that was killed. DMV makes whatever necessary vehicle registration or VIN changes as is necessary to maintain the facade where it all looks legit when onlookers come asking questions.

If you were to do a flyover, you would see that most of the rural residences have at least one modern and usable RV that can be occupied, and would see that often there are multiple RV’s just in the yards, growing in number regularly, in areas that are not zoned for a trailer park.

There are many safety oriented reasons why we have zoning rules. The elected SAG Shills don‘t care about any of that, they need to house terror soldiers, and they have all the support they need from uniformed fake police, many of whom are SAG actors who work to advance the takeover of USA.

The third amendment is not about US Soldiers being housed, it’s about mobile terror soldiers being housed, and it’s violated like a highschool girl at prom night football game, all fucked up and brought home in a shopping cart.

The Lesser of Two Evils is missgnomer, it guides you into a place where there are evils everywhere, only two are pointed out. That leads into the realm of “Pass the Buck” when regulatory agencies are involved. There is always another department to blame, to send people on a “wild goose chance” when they come looking for someone in charge on investigation, but the terror army has it all rigged such that there is no one in charge, just a endless loop of dead ends, each regulatory agency explains that there is a different office that handles the subject matter investigative people are interested in.

Try complaining about a dangerous boat ramp in Josephine County, I have found that is a quest that has no place to land, endless transfer to some other department on the phone call, and recommendations to call a different agency that handles boat ramp issues. “Is the dangerous condition above the water line, or below? We only deal with the boat ramp public restrooms at this office”.

Lesser of two evils means pass the buck.

Honestly I don‘t recommend calling any county office anymore, they always insist on getting your name and address, and assassins are sent to your house.

One a few occasions years ago, I wanted to complain about small aircraft the were buzzing low and slow over my house all of the time. I called a lot of places, wound up at the FAA phone number, where the menu options took forever to navigate. I finally found an option that suited my call needs, it was a demand that includes you must leave a recorded message, say who you are, where you live, and the nature of the complaint, so that the pilot of the airplane that you also must identify, can contact you back, to talk about the complaint. All of that is explained on the FAA phone number menu system. If you don‘t want to do all of that, or, if you don’t want the pilot to call you back, you cannot make a complaint about the low flying aircraft.

I pushed a few more buttons on the FAA Menu, and a live person answered one of the options, when I explained what I needed to do, she just kept saying that she could help to fill out any kind of State and County Grant Money Form that I may need help with, but could not take a low flying aircraft report.

5:41 pm: Josephine County Courts terror cell County Tax Assessor Attack, update:

They sent me a letter. Just one paper in the envelope. It says that they are going to “reduce the assessed value”.

The explanation for the decrease in Value, is based on “no progress towards completion of the partially built house”.

The letter goes on to say that the County Tax Assessor will be in contact with the County Tax Collector, for unspecified reasons. That means we are not done with the Josephine County Courts terror cell County Tax Assessor Attack Scenario, I still need to deal with what will happen when the Josephine County Tax Collector comes knocking. There is sure to be a set of “Pass the Buck” and “The Left Hand Does Not Know What the Right Hand is Doing” arrangements yet to endure. The letter closes with an advisory that I can call if I have questions about why the Assessor chose to decrease the property value. There is very little mention of “Tax”, the whole thing is about “Value” now, decidedly not about “Tax”.

The letter is signed by “Connie Roach”, who has previously signed the other letter as “Constance Roach”. A Roach by any other name, is still a Roach” terror comm is in the letter.

The letter got here quick, it’s dated December 3, 2020. Mail usually takes six days to get here, that one only took two days.

It all smells very organic to me, stay tuned.

now I have to go look to make sure the bastards are referring to my property, at my tax lot, and not some other property somewhere else. The tax lot ID shown on the letter from Josephine County Tax Assessor Office does not look like the way I remember from that last time I needed to know my tax lot number.

They set up the canopy and had a lot of pre-arranged screenplay activity that was performed by the staff and fake patients who are terror cell members there. The activity included that you need a smart phone, the doctor only does video appointment for the COVID Testing Terror Events. However, they had about 25 different kinds of electronic computer tablet size devices, all were different models, no two were alike. It was as if they robbed an electronics store of all of the display models, because all of the loaner video devises were different. That happened, I was given a loaner when I said I did not have the required smart phone, and the video appointment happened, the billing does not specify that I did not get to see the doctor in person that day, more than one year ago, way before there was a Corona Virus problem.

Then, later, this past summer, that same scenario happened at a different appointment at the same place, I was given the very same loaner device as the year before. The one they gave me to use was a Samsung and was bigger than a smart phone. When you turn the Samsung device sideways, the thing shuts off, they warn you “don‘t turn it sideways, it will shut off and we have to re-start, and re-enter the appointment information for you.” The thing shut off three times while I was holding it, had to start over at the front desk. During that visit there was an assassin with a big knife attacked me in the lobby while dressed in nurse uniform. I defended and it was caught on the camera of the device, as I used the device for the defense.

The next COVID visits were different, they make you bring your own smart phone, if you don’t have one, they make you come back later, reschedule, as if I am supposed to go buy a smart phone just for the mandatory video fake terror doctor appointment murder festival. And they don’t let anyone go inside the lobby anymore, the COVID variety video appointment happens under the COVID Canopy in the parking lot now. There were two people I saw doing a video appointment from their cars in the parking lot with smart phones. That is what I was told to do, but I don‘t have or want a smart phone, so, the reschedule happened instead. They have a stand with the hand sanitizer there by the front door, and another stand with a sign that explains the dangers of COVID. The door is locked at the doctor office, you have to knock on the door, feels like you are supposed to know what the secret door knock is so they will let you in. They don‘t let you in anymore with the Easy-Up COVID Canopy attack.

I am remaining confident that one day soon there will be some national Security personnel who will stop the terror take over, so that is why this information is provided.

Sheeesh!!! It's happening again. All these huge news came out just a day after I posted the last Random-News-Digest. I could've included them in that post instead!!! Personal ranting aside, let's get right through the news then... PS: Yeah, this one arrives a little early than usual, because I have to go off the grid for a while. At least until I return from embarking another exploration to the far off galaxy this week... ;D

Disney Live Action

Guy Ritchie is doing the live action adaptation for "Aladdin"? I'm sure you've already heard about that. The movie is going to be an action musical with Middle Eastern leads who have natural talents in singing and dancing? You've heard this before early last month? Well, it's a first for me, but of course... hell yes! That's GREAT news. But did you know which actor Ritchie is currently approaching to play the magical Genie? The answer is... much to everyone's surprise: Will Smith!

Okay, this casting? I'm not too sure about. The last time we had an African-American as a geenie was Shaquille O'Neal in "Kazaam", and that was... uhm, how do I put it? ODD? Not saying I don't like the idea, or that Smith's a bad actor, nor that I'm being racist or anything. I guess I just can't see the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" in this role. And if we're indeed going about race, why couldn't we get another Middle Eastern actor, or at least an Indian for the job? Someone who's more 'racially appropriate'. Of course Smith's appeal is understandable. He's an actual singer so he'll nail the musical part nicely, a natural Oscar-darling for dramatic moments, and has comedic chops that might rival the late Robin Williams. Even if I feel Williams is pretty much irreplacable in this role.

The problem with Smith however, is that he has turned down Tim Burton's "Dumbo" before. That was due to scheduling issue with "Bad Boys 3". That Michael Bay movie had just lost its director, thus putting it on an uncertain delay, yet Smith hasn't walked back to "Dumbo". Thus suggesting that he's probably just not 'keen on' the project. If that's any indication, could we even expect Smith to take a higher coveted role like the Genie instead? Many seems to doubt it. Beside, the current situation is, he's just in "early talks" for this role, and we know that in Hollywood, that means 'nothing is yet set in stone'. Or legal papers, if you prefer to be more modernly accurate. LOL.

If I have a voice in this movie's production, I say just let Genie become a fully CG character. You know, like those household members in "Beauty and the Beast"? Thus they can get practically anyone who's NOT Will Smith to voice the role. Someone who has strong comedic timing, and is equally masterful at singing. Hmmm... why am I suddenly reminded of Seth McFarlane? Perhaps, because he was a standout in Illumination's "Sing!" last year? He can even be a prolific Broadway actor. What about Jamie Fox, Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane, or... LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA? I think those names are much better choices than Smith. Here's a completely random suggestion though: Timothy Omundson, or Ben Presley from "Galavant"!!! They live in UK, have worked with Alan Menken before, for a Disney's ABC series, and CAN totally sing. Anyway, we can expect confirmation to this pretty soon, because apparently the casting call explicitly stated that: "Rehearsals begin April 2017. Shooting July 2017-January 2018 in the UK.". And April is about to end pretty soon! LOL.

DC Films

Here's a quick one from Warner Bros and DC! Because as we all should understand by now, they won't ever let Marvel take the whole week of spotlight onto themselves, right? They just need to sneak a completely random news of development here and there. This time, it's from Joss Whedon, whose name has been kindly talked about recently thanks to Kevin Feige kindly mentioning him during Marvel Studios' open house. And this news came from a very ironic place too: The red carpet premiere of the new Guardians movie! LOL to that.

The news was, well, Whedon is NOT looking for a big name to fill in her lead actress for "Batgirl". He said clearly, "I don’t have my eye on anyone. I’m creating this character, I’m in a dialogue with her, and then we’ll see who joins that later on. I doubt it’ll be a name.", which means she can be anyone. Whedon had a soft spot for Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan before ended up going with Elizabeth Olsen for Wanda Maximoff in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". And his TV works have always involved a strong female lead, like Sarah Michelle-Gellar in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". So he can practically choose any actress for the character, including a relatively unknown. The big question though, how does WB feel about this? And considering the studio's really BAD habbit of pointlessly putting reference, will this actress debuted in "The Batman" before her solo movie? Which means she needs to be cast right away. We'll have to wait and see how this develops.

Wait a sec... turns out this news didn't really come from WB after all. But due to Variety asking Whedon about the project, when they bumped into him at the premiere. So not WB's intentional spotlight-hogging trick this time around. LOL. Sorry WB, my bad. This is why you shouldn't do that to other studios, as people would easily assume you're doing it again and again eventhough you're guilty of charge. Ahahahaha... *sigh*.

Fast and Furious

"The Fate of the Furious", which is a dumb title albeit a nice little twist on 'F8', raced through the box office and conquered the winning lane ever since it debuted. It has even amassed a record breaking global opening of all time, beating 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"! But with the franchise started getting a little... tiring, the question is, for how much longer it has the engine to keep on running? If the latest statement by producer Neal Moritz is to be believed, we're going to see this drug race-inspired movie - at least - up to "Fast and Furious 10". Which might be dumbly named "Fasten Your Seatbelt". Get it? LOL. That's already one more than the previously reported "Fast and Furious 9" by the way. Remember when Lucas Black was approached to do it until 9, but ended up a no-show in 8?

It certainly ain't stopping anytime soon though. Why? Because already, a plan is in motion for a... spinoff. Yikes! Yes, because apparently, due to the much publicized rift (is it real or fake? That has been settled though, I think... *sigh*) between lead actor Vin Diesel, and new regular Dwayne Johnson, it seems fans are now shipping Johnson's Luke Hobbs with Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw. Yep, the bad guy who killed Sung Kang's Han Seoul-Oh. Seriously, will Han's death ever be avenged? I haven't seen the eighth movie yet, but it sounded like Hobbs and big bro Shaw (while lil bro Shaw was singing his way in "Beauty and the Beast") actually had... great chemistry together?

It's currently 'in talks' stage for now, but I can already see it happening. Particularly considering The Rock would do any film, while Statham is in need of another franchise after his participation in "The Expendables 4" is put into question. Chris Morgan is expected to write, and the timeline would put it between the 8th and 9th movie. I'm not too sure about this idea, but perhaps, somewhere along the line we might be seeing a Han and Gal Gadot's Giselle "Mr & Mrs Smith"-esque movie along the way? Especially after Gadot's profile will get another significant boost following this year's "Wonder Woman". I'd certainly would watch that.

X-Men Universe

Now here's what I consider a rather 'dumb' report serving the headlines for "Deadpool 2". Actress Leslie Uggams is set to reprise her role as Blind Al in the sequel. Why is that dumb? Duh... because she's an important element of the first movie, stealing scene every single time she showed up. It would be a crime to not have her back! Not to mention, he's Wade's roommate. What I'm curious to know however, is whether Morena Baccarin will indeed reprise her role as Vanessa as well. I sure hope she will, otherwise it would mess up continuity... not that FOX have actually cared about it. Then again, Deadpool could've gotten away with it by turning it as a mockery excuse towards FOX. While at the same time, punching jabs towards Marvel Studios' case of Pepper Potts and Jane Foster. Ain't that a good idea, right?

Oh yeah, by the way, FOX has announced the official release date for the movie! Eventhough the first movie opened in February, its success has apparently warranted this sequel to change gears into a Summer movie. Yes, it will now open in June 1st, 2018. Which is a rather crowded spot, since Disney has "Han Solo: A Star Wars Movie" to open in the previous week, and the following week has WB's all-female "Ocean's 8" and Paramount's "Bumblebee" movie. Is this a wise move, then? I doubt. That's the way it is with FOX though, they don't give a damn about things like this. They've also set up Josh Boone's "New Mutants" to arrive on April 13th, 2018. Which is, a few months... AHEAD. Huh?

And a little movie called "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" that will arrive in November 2nd, 2018. Squaring off directly against Disney's "Mulan" live action revisit, this news just came in several hours ago (thank Jesus I can add it before this post goes up *sigh*)! Nope, don't be mistaken, it's not "X-Men: The Last Stand" that practically ruined the franchise the first time. It's a... reboot of said movie? Meaning it has the ultimate potential (same story, same WRITER) to do the same? LOL. Need I remind you, these are 3 different movies, set in an entirely 3 different timeline/universe, right? Once again, LOL to that.

Aaaaanyway. With the uncertainty of WB to produce any DC Films earlier than December's "Aquaman", looks like FOX is snatching all the empty superhero slots, eh? The only empty space is in January, March, and August to October, with SONY's "Venom" already dated in the last one. So NICE move to FOX....!!! I guess? *sigh*

This is a direct follow up to the above paragraph. Remember the James Cameron's sequel that was supposed to open on December 2018, but got delayed and thus became occupied by "Aquaman"? Yep, I know what you're thinking. This whole release date business already sounds like a confusing game of chess! Well, brace yourself, because "Avatar 2", the sequel we never even asked, will now open on December 18th, 2020. Eeeeh? Not kidding. But what took Cameron so long to get one done? The answer is, because he's doing all FOUR sequels altogether. Yes, "Avatar 3" has been scheduled to open on December 17th, 2021, while "Avatar 4" and "Avatar 5" are coming in December 20th, 2024 and December 19th, 2025 respectively. Ain't that a mouthful to write! Those, if there's any among you, who are waiting for these... sequels, should be really happy to hear this news. You have 5 years of Avatar-time! You've got to hand it to Cameron though. This here is risky business. VERY risky. I can't even imagine what would happen if the 2nd movie is a bomb.

Marvel Studios

Let's start with the juiciest part! Just last week, I speculated that Marvel Studios will announce the female director for "Captain Marvel" when they return to Hall H of this year's San Diego Comic Con. Well, this is Marvel Studios, a studio known for catching people off guard, and they've done it again. Not just for one, but a double surprise at the same time.

Yes, the director for their first female-led female-centric movie has indeed been selected. And it's not one, but TWO of them! Marvel Studios officially announced (first reported by Variety) that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have been assigned to helm the project. So to you who wanted a female director, you get one. And those who prefer a male director, also get one. Fair and square!!! Intriguingly, their names weren't even part of the frontrunners list, so it certainly caught almost everyone by surprise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, apparently Marvel Studios met with several female directors since last summer; from Niki Caro (who has been hired to do "Mulan" instead), Lesli Linka Glatter, Lorene Scafaria, to Lucia Aniello, and Quicksilver's real life wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, with Jennifer Kent and Jennifer Yuh also in the early mix; before ultimately settling in on this "Mississippi Grind" duo. Turns out, they've managed to impress the studio with their vision for the movie, which put focus on elevating character's journey beneath all the spectacle. Sounds like something right up on Marvel Studios' alley, huh?

Just like the Russo Brothers, Boden and Fleck have done more TV based project, instead of big features. Does the similarity to Anthony and Joe feels more than mere coincidence? Clearly Marvel is taking their first female-led superhero VERY seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if Carol Danvers will be taking Steve Rogers' important role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. To be honest, I'm not at all familiar with the duo's work, not on movies ("It's Kind of a Funny Story", "Sugar", "Half Nelson"), nor TV ("The Affair", "Billions"). But I'm hearing good things about them, and considering Marvel Studios has a powerful knack in choosing who they partnered with (particularly ever since they no longer serve under Ike Perlmutter), I've completely put my trust in their decision. Lest we forget, people doubted that Joss Whedon, James Gunn, and also the Russos would deliver before. And now their movies are considered among MCU's best. With the smart and loveable Oscar-winner Brie Larson more than excited to front, a script currently in progress by Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve, and an official production targetting a February 2018 start, "Captain Marvel" will arrive on March 8th, 2019.

After debuting their first worldwide tour in Tokyo, Japan, the Los Angeles Red Carpet Premiere for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has been held on Friday. As always, the glamorous event took place at the El Capitan Theatre. Unlike previous movies, I couldn't catch the live stream of this premiere, because I'm running out of data charge on my internet! After all, when you're saving up money to watch the movie (tickets' pre-ordered by the way, yaaaay! XD), you have no choice but to wait until early next month to get it reinvigorated. Whoops, let's get back on track. Most of the cast attended the celebration. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, co-president Louis D'Esposito, VFX producer Victoria Alonso, and director James Gunn were obviously leading the pack. They were joined by returning actors Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn, as well as new cast members Pom Klementieff, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, and Tommy Flanagan. Veteran actors Kurt Russel and Sylvester Stallone were also in attendance, with a surprise appearance of one David Hasselfhoff! Okay, I didn't even know he has a part in this movie. I thought his name in the recently released Original Soundtrack was just pure coincidence. By the way, said album's tracklist could potentially be considered spoilerish, so you might want to avoid it the way I do.

Another press junket was held following the premiere, and the folks behind this movie has been spilling additional details here and there. The kind of information that you would want to steer away and avoid, if like me, you don't want to be spoiled ahead of the game. This could range from the simplest bit like: - Various critics' reviews as well as the first accumulated RottenTomatoes score can be expected to arrive very soon. So check your favorite entertainment sites in the next 24 hours or more, to see what their journalists have to say about this movie. I'm personally avoiding the internet after this to avoid spoilers, and will get back once I've seen the movie. 3 days from now! YAAASSS!!! \(^o^)/ - The fact that the movie's core theme is about family. Sean Gerber of Modern Myth Media, even said that the movie was "pure love", and something that should be watched together with their family. Gunn even dedicated this movie to his parents during the LA premiere. - That baby Groot is the star of the movie! Even fellow Marvel Studios director Peyton Reed thought he could win an Oscar! - New official images released on Entertainment Weekly that hinted towards various plot points. - A supposed Nathan Fillion's cameo that got edited out. Complete with proof by the actor himself, that turned out to nothing but a... prank? LOL. Though it's possible he's indeed the actor that Gunn openly admitted had to cut during post production. - About "the collector’s museum"-level Easter-Eggs-filled scene that went out in the cutting room... and might not be available as the Deleted Scenes. - About a surprise pop star cameo. - To the more complex one, like the removal of one character by the name of... *drumrolls* Adam Warlock!

Yes, turns out the Warlock was originally a major part of "Vol. 2"! Confirming that it was indeed his cocoon we saw in the first movie, but was decided to be saved for later movies. Once again, Gunn has been pretty open about this before, as he said that the script originally had 'one other' member of the team that he unfortunately had to let go. Yes, he WAS talking about Warlock, as the decision to omit him was because "it was one character too many and I didn’t want to lose Mantis and Mantis was more organically part of the movie anyway. So I decided to save him for later.". Gunn expressed his love for him though, eventhough we also shouldn't expect to see Warlock in "Avengers: Infinity War" as well, much to fans dismay. Nevertheless, Feige gave assurance that we will definitely see this important cosmic being in future movies.

By future, I believe we can expect this important character to show up later in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", or even earlier in the UNTITLED 2019's Avengers movie. As I've always said, Adam Warlock is an amazing character because he's basically serving as both protagonist and antagonist due to his alter-ego Magus. And the prospect of having him playing a crucial role in future Marvel cosmic universe is enough as an excuse for me. Gunn stated to EW, that the "the three movies work together as a whole, they’re going to tell one story,". Which is exactly the reason why he agreed and excited to continue with "Vol. 3". Don't forget, we're getting Warlock's comic-book's 'sister' Ayesha and her golden-skinned race in this second movie. It would be very obvious, if Warlock will indeed take the follow up spotlight on "Vol. 3". One more thing, Gunn's collaboration with Marvel Studios won't be stopping after "Vol. 3". Birth.Movies.Death speculated, that Gunn is basically the architect of Marvel Studios' future cosmic universe, and I'm inclined to agree on that. Which his role important going forward. After all, Feige himself stated that Gunn "could easily oversee additional stories beyond Vol. 3.". I honestly can't wait to see what we can expect next in the massive galactic side of MCU, considering some of its more popular properties like Galactus, or Silver Surfer, are owned by FOX.

With one movie of 2017 out of the way, when can we expect the 2nd one then? The Los Angeles premiere for "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has been set for June 28th, 2017. Similar to the case of "Vol. 2", we can expect first screening reactions, critics reviews, and all the information dump related to Tom Holland's solo movie, beginning on early June. Or perhaps, much earlier? Yep, L.A. Times shared a new official photo of Spidey inside a pipe, accompanied by a breakdown of what his VERY convenient suit can do. After all, it's Tony Stark's creation! LOL. There's another one from EW, included in an article that focused on director Jon Watts' and Holland's experience with the production, considering the two "were in the same boat". In case you forget, "Homecoming" is the only MCU movie this year that takes place on Earth! So in that sense, it could be considered an important movie, because it's one of two that will directly lead up towards "Infinity War".

The other one is of course, Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther" that will arrive February 16th next year. A movie that had just wrapped production in Atlanta, but already sounds stunningly promising in many delicate ways: first female cinematographer in Rachel Morrison, dashing 'tribal-modern fusion' costumes by Oscar nominee Ruth E. Carter, fully imaginative high-tech metropolitan Wakanda, and stellar supporting cast, among others. Both Holland's Peter Parker and Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa debuted in "Captain America: Civil War" to critical acclaimed last year. We know that the two has officially joined the MCU's shirtless club, that even the bigwigs at Marvel Studios thought as something brag-worthy (LOL!!!). Yet the biggest question for them, is whether their stand-alone features will perform as good, or even better as the hype. Whether the directorial visions of Watts and Coogler are the right ones to catapult each solo title into their own franchises. Because if they are, then they will be joining the likes of Peyton Reed and Scott Derrickson who are moving forward with their second MCU movie.

Meanwhile, production for "Infinity War" is still ongoing in Scotland. And the latest sighting will make fans of the comics glee with joy. Why? Actor Paul Bettany was seen filming a romantic scene with Elizabeth Olsen, confirming that the relationship of his Victor Sha... I mean Vision and her Wanda Maximoff actually have progressed significantly since their encounter in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". There's something more to the scene though, because Bettany is NOT in his thick Vision makeup! Thus many have been assuming this could be either a dream-scene, or an alternate reality caused by one of the Infinity Stones. In fact, it makes sense to be the movie's happy ending too.

Speaking of 'happy ending', don't assume that this scene is part of the 2019's UNTITLED Avengers movie. Why? Eventhough the Russos DID plan to film both movies concurrently, apparently what might have sounded possible in theory, didn't work out so well in practice. Feige revealed to Collider, that the studio has decided to change course, and film both movies as back-to-back but entirely separate productions. "It became too complicated to cross-board them like that, and we found ourselves—again, something would always pay the price", he admitted, which might point out various issues like technical requirements of making sure both movie would be different from one another, actor's scheduling, and others. Which means, every behind the scenes candid images we've seen so far, are all part of "Infinity War". Feige then confirmed that they expect filming for the first movie to wrap in July, before moving on with the next one in August. Think of it like how Peter Jackson worked on his "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Hobbit" trilogies.

Last but not least, Feige also teased that while they are focusing on the seven ongoing tasks at hand, the MCU might be 'evolving' into a different form/route beginning in Phase 4. If... it can even be called that way, of course. "Certainly as we get to Infinity War there is a sense of a climax if not a conclusion to, by the time we’re at untitled Avengers 4, the 22 movies that will have encompassed the first three phases of the MCU. And what happens after that will be very different. I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.", he openly said to Collider. Intriguing, because if we observe closer, two of the confirmed titles ("Vol. 3" and "Homecoming 2") have their own separate and unique timelines; one probably mere months apart, while the other taking the "Harry Potter" yearly approach. A third that has been unofficially confirmed, the next chapter to "Doctor Strange", isn't likely to be bound by time and space either. Feige summed up that after 2019's Avengers movie, the MCU is "gonna be very, very different.". Hmmm... let's just say, I won't be at all surprised if the official title for Avengers 4 is called... "AVENGERS: SECRET WARS"! *wink*

Marvel TV

As Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." closing in on its 4th season finale, the fate of this ABC network series remains a huge question. Will it be renewed for a 5th year? And will it serve as the final season, as Entertainment Weekly has predicted before? Fans of the show, however small and numbered it might be, are anxious to find out. But while we're waiting for the answer, Marvel TV isn't stopping anytime soon. Instead, they are moving forward with their two Freeform projects.

The first one is Marvel's "New Warriors", as the former ABC family network officially announced its main roster! As speculated, it's a combination of actual "New Warriors" members from the comics, as well as ones from "Great Lake Avengers". The characters were revealed last week, complete with a catchy comic book art to accompany the announcement. They are (in list, because I love one): - Doreen Green, or Squirrel Girl. Well, duh? Obviously she's part of the show! Because it's the character that Freeform has always wanted to get from the beginning. According to Freeform, Doreen is an empowered girl, and a natural leader. Fitting to her power of acrobatic, and as such, she is bouncy and energetic. She will be accompanied by her pet squirrel Tippy Toe, everywhere she goes. - Craig Hollis, or Mister Immortal. True to his superhero alias, he's practically unable to die. Problem is, the lazy guy hasn't made use of this ability at all, and tends to be cocky and grumpy instead. Freeform calls him as the team's troublemaker. Or as I would see it... the jerk whom I would easily hate. - Dwayne Taylor, or Night Thrasher. He doesn't have any super ability, but he's a... Youtube artist? Huh? Ain't that something that the millenials would dig, right? He's rich kid who's pretending he's not, because he's a local celebrity 'hero' who is... shamelessly full of himself. Wow, our first two guys both sound annoying already. - Robbie Baldwin, or Speedball. His ability is to launch kinetic balls of energy, which of course would require CG work. His character description is kind of important, because it confirms that the show takes place in the MCU. Yes, because he's a fan of the Avengers Tower. Unfortunately, he's "impulsive and immature people-pleaser with a misplaced sense of confidence". My oh my, why do all the guys are characterized like this? - Zack Smith, or Microbe. This guy might already be my favorite, because he's a shy and sweet big guy who... talks to germs? Huh? Yep, his ability practically turns him into some kind of telepath, as he can tell everything from the millions germs scattering in the planet. Considering the MCU has very few people who can be categorized as an actual telepath (Scarlet Witch, and Mantis?), this is a good excuse to make Zack be another one. Judging from the character design, it seems like an Asian-American is going to be cast for this character. - Deborah Fields, or Debrii. This lesbian African-American is proud, and has a sharp tongue. Always unafraid to say what she thinks, and calls out people on their BS. Sounds like an amazing frenemy to either Craig, Dwayne, or Robbie, right? She has the power of telekinesis, and also acts as some sort of trickster.

If you ask me, I think these characters are good, and also wise choices because they represent diversity. No actor has been announced just yet because the casting process is said to commence very soon. But considering how fast this show is moving forward since it was greenlit, I wouldn't be surprised if we're getting cast announcement next week! I'm still not sure if I can see this show, considering it's airing on Freeform, but the idea of a 30-minutes 10-episodes only live-action comedy is too good for me to miss out. Obviously, if there's one main concern I have for it, is whether they can nail the VFX for show or not. And how much practical effects that will be utilized. Like the case of Tippy Toe, will an actual squirrel plays the rodent? Or a completely CG character? Of course, having characters like Mister Immortal, Night Thrasher, and Microbe is a beneficial cheat, considering their abilities can all be done practically. Even Debrii's power can also be done through simple camera tricks. The biggest challenge would be Speedball's, and the appearance of Squirrel Girl. Let's hope showrunner Kevin Biegel, and Marvel TV can work these out. Marvel's "New Warriors" is expected to arrive in 2018, which means, plenty of time to get the VFX done.

The first trailer for Marvel's "Cloak and Dagger" has been released! I did NOT see this coming. After all, the series won't premiere until Winter 2018, right? Unless, that literally means January or February, since both months are still regarded as winter. Hmmmm. Anyway, as soon as I'm done with the trailer, I'm 100% certain that this show is NOT for me. Not saying it's bad, because the whole teenage romance thing is, well, certainly new for Marvel. So a 'good job' for them is at hand? I don't know why, it just doesn't work for me. The lack of special effects, perhaps (that practical one looks... weak, and fake)? Too soap-opera for my taste, probably? Or is it because a conservative soul like me and some others just couldn't get the charm of it. Maaaaan, I feel old *sigh*. As I said before, as much as I liked the characters in the comics, I'm going to give this series a pass. It's definitely a no go for me. The only thing I liked about this is the logo... and that's saying much.

I can't help but wonder if these lovers would somehow, in some way, have a crossover with the "New Warriors". Both are running in the same network, and the age gap between their characters aren't too big. Of course, we must not forget that "Cloak and Dagger" takes place in New Orleans, while "New Warriors" will be in... hold on, they haven't mentioned where the setting will be, huh? Character description for Speedball mentioned 'Avengers Tower' though, so it likely takes place in New York. If that's the case, now I'm wondering if Squirrel Girl and her friends will bump into any of the Defenders, or Doctor Strange, or even Spider-Man? Aaargh.... this whole #itsallconnected thing is confusing.

Would you look at that! Marvel's "Luke Cage" has... begun production for its 2nd season? Wowzers... Marvel is certainly firing on all cylinders, attacking on all front last week, huh? However, just like Marvel's "Jessica Jones", this report didn't arrive from Marvel, who usually posted an official announcement for a start of production. Instead, this silently came into public's attention through some keen-eyed fans who spotted the working title of "Luke Cage" being set up in Port Washington, New York. Add to that, Simone Missick's tweet about her training for the new season, and many can easily come into the same deduction.

Intriguingly, assuming this report IS true, "Luke Cage" going into production at the same time as "Jessica Jones" feels a little suspicious, eh? If I recall correctly, "Jessica Jones" showrunner Melissa Rosenberg did teased about Mike Colter's Luke's appearance in the series. So I'm secretly wishing this is the case, because his presence did wonder in the 1st season. Don't forget, Colter was cast due to his chemistry with Krysten Ritter! As for "Luke Cage", we need to remember that showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker actually wanted to do a "Heroes for Hire" show. But we all know how it turned out right? He was hired to do the solo series instead. With Scott Buck being occupied with Marvel's "The Inhumans", and the uncertainty of his Marvel's "Iron Fist" getting another season (sad to say, it's Netflix and Marvel TV's worst-reviewed show so far), could we be seeing Finn Jones' Danny Rand and Jessica Henwick's Colleen Wing entering the world of Luke Cage instead? I certainly hope so, because that would be the WISEST decision for both series. Coker would get what he have always wanted, and Marvel fans can finally see these two lead characters turning into that charming best buddies we've always seen in various other medias. Not to mention, Missick's Misty Knight can pair up with Henwick's Colleen as well. Once again, just like in the comics! To be honest, I don't have any interest to see new season for both series at this moment, but a pleasant twist like that would totally alter said plan completely... XD

Of course, that's merely a random speculation on my part. And a wishful thinking too. If the recent exclusive on MCU Exchange is also true, then well, such fantastic crossover already sounds unlikely. Which means, there goes my excitement level...

As for Marvel's "The Punisher", Tyler Bates who has done work for James Gunn's MCU movies, will be lending his hand to score the series. Possibly hinting towards a more rock and roll, or heavy metal vibe to the music. One more thing, actress Rosario Dawson had openly stated that she won't be showing in the series. Not really a surprise, because her Claire Temple never really interacted with Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle before. I think her role will specifically be taken over by Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page this time. She did remark that she would love to be in it, but scheduling conflict somehow prevented her from doing so. Marvel's "The Punisher" is expected to premiere this Fall.

Kamen Rider Shally

Tokusatsu scooper Dukemon, posted some reports regarding the next Kamen Rider season following "Kamen Rider Ex-Aid". According to him, the rumored title will be "Kamen Rider Shally", and as previously hinted before, is a SUSHI-themed. Shally will be using the Shally Driver, and Neta Units to transform. He added that Shally will have three forms, obtained through the Neta units: Maguro, Ika, and Tamago. These are all obviously named after variants of Sushi that uses tuna, squid, and roll-egg respectively. For now, we need to consider this rumor with a huge grain of salt. But Dukemon is reliable, as many report he posted ended up becoming a fact. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Persona

"Persona 5" is still taking the main attention of many Persona-fans until now, but it seems Atlus is already moving forward with new projects for the franchise. According to Gematsu, Ryu's Office, the company who worked with Atlus to register domain names, has submited several Persona-related ones on April 18th. These names include: P3D, P5AG, P5D, P5R, P5U, Persona-Dance, PQ2. Three more were submitted on April 4: Persona8, Persona9, and Persona10.

Since they have created a crossover title between "Persona 4" and "Persona 3" before in form of "Persona 4 Arena", it seems likely that one of said domain might be a continuation to said title. Perhaps, the P5U one stands for "Persona 5 Ultimax/Arena"? I hope that's the case, because the possibility of the Phantom Thieves of Heart crossing path with the Inaba Investigation Team is too good to ignore. The notion of a Persona title from 8 to 10 is also intriguing. I don't recall we have heard any rumble of a "Persona 6" just yet, but they already book the spot up to 10! That's... WOW, right? Nevertheless, if Atlus can continue building better and better game like what they have done with P5, I don't see why there can't be a "Persona 10" somewhere in the franchise's bright future...

Bad Faith Auto Insurance?

Should I hire an attorney for this?, I purchased a policy online a few months ago within the first few days that i had this insurance I had a storm and damaged my vehicle (minor) with hail damaged I submitted out a claim, appraiser was sent they covered the loss sent a check to me, now i take it to the bodyshop and try to have it fixed but they need a supplement, they contact insurance co. but insurance co, makes many excuses over this they state I dont have full coverage which I do, and it was verfied with them that i do, the next few weeks pass and then I finally get a call from a manager at the insurance company stating that they mistakenly sent me out a check because I made a false claim report, they said that they can tell by my pictures before policy was bought that vehicle had damaged (which is an excuse of denying supplement) and stated the the adjuster overlooked everything point here is that insurance co, cancelled my policy by stating underwriting issues, so now Im without insurance coverage, the manager also stated she reported this to the texas state but mentioned she could not put a stop payment on the check and that I could still use it to fix the car or cashout the check... I am really dissapointed at how all this was handelled, Im thinking about getting an attorney, I already discussed and this issue with the Insurance company and Im basicly told that I lied about the claim and they end my call... This has been a big complication for a few months, but back in October of 2008, I had a physical exam and my provider billed, what I assumed at the time, my primary insurance company (Horizon NJ Health). However, two years later, Horizon took back that money and my provider has been billing me for that physical back in 2008. I called Horizon and apparently they took back the money because I had another health insurance, and Horizon was no longer my primary. I had not known about my other health insurance company, Aetna student health care, since they never gave me any information or membership details, and I was automatically enrolled for it when I entered my university. When I contacted Aetna, they told me that they weren't the primary insurance company because they were just student health care. After several phone calls back and forth between Aetna and Horizon... I STILL haven't figured out who my primary insurance company is since they both claim to be the secondary insurance (and they seem to have endless reasons why the other is primary). I contacted my provider and asked them who they have listed as my primary, and they seem to be clueless about it too (when I spoke to the receptionist and asked, they kinda changed the topic). Today my girlfriend asked me to drive her home from college as she was sick. I used her moms car. When coming home on the arterial we were at a red light and I was getting ready to get in the right lane when the light turned green the SUV in front of me began to go then stopped suddenly, (still don't know why) As I was still crossing into the other lane the corner of my front bumper bumped her fender corner. I noticed she stopped and was on her phone so I backed up and parked behind her assuming she just wanted to make sure it was ok. Her tail lights were fine, she drove Subaru SUV so she had a pretty solid buffer there really wasn't even a scuff but a small red reflector on the bottom of the bumper that received a small crack (got a pic close up but can't see it more than a couple inches away. My headlight just has small scuff we werent worried, in NYS you don't generally call unless the damage is over 1000 but she insisted on calling the police. I kept asking if she'd like to just exchange insurance info but she said no (stubborn middle aged probably for insurance) The cops kept telling her we could just exchange info but she wanted report. If I don't make enough money to buy this mandatory insurance, then the gov't will give me tax credits to purchase insurance. Who's paying for those tax credits? All of the tax payers. The Confessions of a Video Vixen Interview by Kam Williams

When I first interviewed her a couple of years ago, Karrine Steffans was making the transition from Hip-Hop ho to legitimate Hollywood actress. She was then enjoying her big screen debut as Larenz Tate's wife in A Man Apart, an action-adventure flick starring Vin Diesel. During that tame tete-a-tete, she never let on about the sordid, suicidal, sexually-depraved, alcohol and drug-addicted life she had been leading, despite being a single-mom. Nor did she discuss bottoming-out after an overdose which left her broke, blacklisted and living in a car with her little boy.Because Karrine was such a shameless name-dropper, I distinctly remember repeatedly asking her about all of her famous friends. But every inquiry led to a very dull dead-end. Now, she has just published a tell-all autobiography, Confessions of a Video Vixen, which sits high atop most best seller lists. In it, she admits to sleeping with Puff Daddy, DMX, Xzibit, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Doctor Dre, Ice-T, Bobby Brown, Usher, Shaquille O'Neal and Vin Diesel, to name a few.So, I figured it was high time I track Karrine down again to find out why she lied to me the first go-round. Furthermore, I needed to get the lowdown on what life in the fast lane had been like for this naughty girl affectionately referred to as "Superhead" by the gangsta rappers and the rest of the long list of famous lovers who shared her bed.

KW: Why were you so very tight-lipped about the nature of your relationships with all the celebrities you knew the first time we spoke? KS: Well, that wasn't the appropriate time. We were talking about A Man Apart. Everything has its own time and space. And there are some people that I mention in Confessions, and some that I still didn't.

KW: Yeah, like in the book, you hid the identity of a very famous lover of yours you called Papa. Care to share his name now?

KS: I'm still not going to tell you.

KW: Why not, when you've confessed to sleeping with so many others?

KS: At this point it's inappropriate, because of a promise I made to him that he would remain anonymous.

KW: How about a hint?

KS: What I will say for my readers is that Confessions has a really big clue about who he is.

KW: What has been the reaction of the lovers you did name to the book?

KS: There's been no reaction. The celebrities named in the book are fine.It's kind of surprised me that people find what I said so amazing, because people who are inside of the industry know all the stuff that I could've said.

KW: But let's take someone like Ja Rule, who has a wife and kids. I would imagine that he might be very upset.

KS: I'm sure it's uncomfortable. But, no, he's not upset. This is not news to him, or his wife, or his family. It's not like his wife just found out.She knows her husband and that I was not the only girl. He had hundreds at that time, and I'm sure thousands over the years as he traveled the world.So, it's not like anyone's surprised, even if it's uncomfortable.

KW: Do you have any misgivings about tarnishing the image of so many icons?KS: I'm surprised that people think they’re important. To me they’re not.They’re just people you run across. The names I gave away in Vixen are throwaway names. They’re nobodies compared to who else I have in my phone book.

KW: Like who?

KS: There are some people who are very powerful who I will never name, because I want to be able to work in this town when I'm done. That's why it's easy to give you throwaway names like Jay-Z. I'm not in the music business. I don't work for Def Jam.

KW: So, you see Jay-Z as a nobody?

KS: Not that he's a nobody, just nobody special.

KW: Did you mean to imply that Puff Daddy, I mean, Diddy and Xzibit are gay when you mentioned their taking you to a gay nightclub?

KS: I'm not implying anything. That was an experience of mine. I'm just saying what happened and what was said. Any conclusions would have to be drawn by the readers.

KW: Did you really sleep with Vin Diesel? I've interviewed him several times, and he's always sounded like such a gentleman. He even told me he wasn't a womanizer, but that he was saving himself for the right woman.

KS: [laughs] Really? That's a load of [expletive]. He wasn't saving himself when I was with him. It bothers me that people find it necessary to paint pictures. Truth and honesty is my thing.

KW: I'm gonna ask him about you the next time I speak to him. Why did you put so many sexy photos of yourself scantily-clad in the book, if you've put that lifestyle behind you?

KS: I'm not uncomfortable about anything I've put in the book. It's just the truth. Those pictures are fine. They’re pictures from my past, of things that I have done with people I have known. They’re from stages of my life, and all of that is relevant to this book.

KW: The nicest picture is the one of you and your son, Naiim. Was he scarred by all the two of you went through? How is he doing?

KS: All these things happened a long time ago. My son is seven, and he doesn't remember any of that stuff. For the last four years, he's spent every day with me. Thankfully, I got my wild ways over with while he was still basically a newborn. He was two and three years-old.

KW: Is there any truth to the rumor that you're now dating Bill Maher of Politically Incorrect?

KS: Absolutely.

KW: How is that relationship?

KS: Wonderful! It's the best I've ever had?

KW: Does he have a good relationship with your son, too?

KS: Nope. They don't have one. They don't need one. It's unnecessary. Why would I introduce my son to a man I've only known for four months, no matter how great the relationship is. If Bill and I are together half a year, maybe I'll consider it. But even then, it's still dating. There's no need for them to meet each other.

KW: So, does your son then have a relationship with that rapper who's his biological father?

KS: They don't have a relationship. They don't know each other. They never have.

KW: Do you consider yourself totally through with that self-destructive lifestyle?KS: I haven't spoken to any of those people, for the most part, for over four years. There are some I'm still cool with. We’ll see each other and speak, say, ’How you doin’?’ and keep going.

KW: What enabled you to move on from playing the party girl?

KS: Most people grow. The person you're reading about in that book is 21.I'm 27 now. You would hope that I would grow and expand and change just from the natural progression of life. And that's what I've done.

KW: Why kiss and tell?

KS: It was easy for me to write about it, because I'm so far removed from that character. The person I was in that book was a character. She's not even who I am today. People who know me, recognize a definite difference in my poise and in my personality, because I've grown.

KW: I agree you don't sound like the same person, but maybe you had drug problems when I spoke to you.

KS: At that time, no. I was already out of that lifestyle by the time I talked to you.

KW: Have you burned too many bridges to return to acting?

KS: No, I have no interest in it at all. It doesn't move me whatsoever.

KW: Why not?

KS: Because I'm a power fanatic. I like to own things, and have them be mine. Acting doesn't belong to you, if you're not the writer or the director.

KW: So, what will you work on next, then?

KS: The movie version of this book. They’re bidding on the rights to it right now.KW: You recently had a tiff with Tyra Banks during the taping of her new talk show. Do you care to share your side of it?

KS: There are a few things that tend to infuriate me. One is ignorance, because I have become accustomed to speaking to very intelligent people like Gore Vidal and Al Franken on a regular basis, since dating Bill Maher.Therefore, when I'm in an interview with someone who is not intelligent, but flat-out ignorant, idiotic and stupid, or just an ass, it really gives me a headache.

KW: So, how do you deal with jerks like that?

KS: I've walked out on interviews, when they’re so beneath me and what I'm trying to say. And then there are people like Tyra who are hypocrites. Women especially, who have slept their way through their whole careers. And it's not a secret within the Hollywood circle.

KW: So, Tyra's been around the block.

KS: I've always heard about it from men we've both slept with.

KW: I'd think that the two of you should have had a great conversation in that case, swapping stories.

KS: No, not 15 years later, now that she has her own talk show where she's well-groomed, all made up, and has on a $5,000 wig. don't get me wrong, Tyra's done well for herself. You have to applaud her for all that she's achieved, coming from that model world, and expanding, which is wonderful.But let's not pretend that you haven't done some of the people and things that I've done.

KW: So, Tyra didn't want to ’fess up?

KS: Anyone in that position, in an interviewer's position, to do it well, should always remain objective. That's part of the job.

KW: So, you feel that she attacked you instead of interviewing you?

KS: When someone talks to me, and they’re personally attacking me, because there's someone in my book that she's been with, because of the people that she's slept with that we have in common. When you're making me seem like the bad one, like only I've slept around, like only I've dated famous people, then I find it necessary to say what you've done. We should just be honest.

KW: So, she made it personal?

KS: Yeah, and then I felt the need to get personal back.

KW: So, are you saying Tyra slept her way to the top?

KS: I have a list of names of people that she's been with, including women.Let's not go there, because I am the truth-teller. And I'll tell it all. So, hopefully, she realizes that now, and she’ll stay clear out of my way.

KW: Do you hope your book will warn young girls of the sexual exploitation, drugs and other pitfalls of appearing in gangsta’ videos which await them when they arrive in Hollywood.

KS: Yes, that's what's happening. Girls are getting it. They’re understanding that the life they thought existed in Hollywood doesn't really exist. It just doesn't. I'm not just saying that because my past is a little skewed and I had a hard time. Even now that my life is great, and I'm way better off physically, financially and emotionally, I can still look at it and say, this place is such bull-[expletive]! And it is.

KW: Where do you go from here, professionally?

KS: I'm just going to continue what I've been doing, which is writing. The next book is the paperback version of Confessions, which will have more information. Then, I'm writing a novel for next summer, I believe. And I'll continue to write. I already started a book on relationships, on being a woman, and how we mess up our relationships trying to be too independent. I am a writer. Video Vixen was not a fluke. This is what I do, and it's my job now.
