Sticky notes

This is probably gonna be formatted badly but oh well this is what I get for being on Tumblr for barely a week

So, Lucifer constantly leaves sticky notes around the house for himself to remember things. Some are "Meeting on Tuesday @ Castle for new event" and others are "Eat so you don't die"

But Satan and Belphie began discovering said sticky notes and if they deemed them unimportant, would remove the sticky note and put a new sticky note in its place that says "A Lucifer note used to be here. For your convenience, we at the Anti-Lucifer League have removed it. We thank you for your continued support in our mission to annoy Lucifer. Thank you! - Anti-Lucifer League"

After a little while, yellow sticky notes began showing up, scribbled in all caps, that normally said something along the lines of "Lucifer if you pay me ten grimm I'll stop them next time from doing this"

Then a red sticky note beneath it reading "You should always be stopping them. You're the second eldest. Act like it." And then another yellow beneath it "Jokes on you, I can't read cursive. I'm assuming that was insulting though"

And eventually, orange began showing up normally with messages such as "Hey can someone come to the grocery store with me tomorrow."

And eventually the kitchen devolved into messages such as:

Grocery shopping gone wrong

Why would they go grocery shopping in the middle of the day, in Manhattan, the most anti-mutant district of New York (mostly influenced by mafia boss Don Vizioso) ? Who knows ! Now the obvious first answer is Blake. But I think a villain Blake, even one who has I’ve said would be a horny shit poster would probably be racist to humans . I think that can be an interesting dynamic I think it would probably prevent her from ever admitting her feelings. Although that could be a fun dynamic between them each of them in a secret love with each other Blake, who is not willing to admit to Yang that she loves her because she’s a human .

Or alternatively, they do get together, and she must keep it secret from her white fang allies that she’s dating a human. I imagine the dynamic if I was ever to summit up would be kind of the relationship that dragon ball abridged, Bulma and Vegeta have.

And from yangs perspective she doesn’t want to get together with Blake either because she’s feels too dedicated to Ruby as a sister to have other relationships. Or she swears never to be hurt again by people leaving.(tai, Raven, and Summer). And realizing that she’s falling for the trap of either caring about someone who’s not her sister or someone for who’s not herself. makes her feel all kinds of weird emotions. 

And so the relationship is kind of a weird inversion of Yang and Blake’s relationship, which is based on trust, and their mutual belief they’ll be there for each other. Well, villain, Blake and villain Yang , clearly love each other. They cannot be honest with each other for fear of having the attachments around them in Blakes case(her connection to other anti-human Faunus ) and the ability to feel perfectly safe by not being close to anyone and yang case. prevent them from building the necessary foundation for any healthy relationships, both romantic and platonic.

The other relationship that I like for villain Yang is freezer burn, because the cruel sadistic leader of a banded organization is the perfect secret right hand for a aloof cold calculating businesswoman like a villain Weiss should be. 

although I wouldn’t call a villain freezer, burn relationship healthy, I think it would definitely last longer than a villain bumblebee relationship. And it’s mainly down to how they view each other in relationship yang views herself as an instrument for Weiss’s to use she kills her political opponents, breaks up strikes and helps her gain her rightful position as air to the SDC.

Weiss views yang as an extension of herself as a way to do the things that a prim and proper air to a giant company can’t do. A physical way to enact change she wants to in this way Yang is her rapier.

And yang who’s trying to not feel all the emotions that come with being abandoned, and being forced to raise your sister, is really eager to abandon all sense of self, and just become Weiss as weapon.

And that’s why I think their relationship would last longer although it’s just as toxic and maybe even more then villain bumblebee the codependency they foster on each other would keep them together longer. also for comparison, think of a version of cersei Jamie without the incest(although I know, saying, that’s removing a pretty big part of their story)

So I'm apart of the PPG fandom and one thing that always bugged me is how a lot of colorcode shipper anti's (Blossom x Brick mostly) will cry P*edophila at any ship that isn't their otp, but have no issue's shipping genderbends (and I say this as someone that does like a color code ship). They will also ignore how Mojo could be either a second father figure or sibling depending on the interpretation, so double incest.

The layout of Crow’s Nest

I was recently asked if I could make a map of Crow’s Nest, especially the barracks of the Elites, for the Reignited series. I never made a clear plan for myself about the layout until now. Sure, I made the map of Arylean to clarify where everything is for the readers (and myself), but I never really thought deeply of anything. Someone asked in Ao3 ages ago if I could make a map of Crow’s Nest, but I failed to do one back then. Yet, as I’ve written the series, I have (finally) formed an idea of how the base looks like and this time managed to put that idea on paper.

Since Crow’s Nest is pretty much the main setting of the series, I decided to make an information package about the base for everyone!

CROW’S NEST

Note: the full map is the earlier posts.

The base of Crow’s Nest is situated at the roots of Aouina’s mountain range on the western side of the Sweet River. The mountains provide protection against attacks from the south and the east. The hilly and bushy landscape makes the base next to invisible when approached through the wasteland. Since there isn’t a marked road to the base, the soldiers need to be educated on how to navigate there by using different landmarks. This is the main reason why Crow’s Nest favors using trained drivers. Though vegetation is frugal in the wasteland, Arylean’s warm climate and continual rains make it possible for deciduous forests to grow near the mountain (these forests aren’t as exuberant as the ones at riversides though). Crow’s Nest was built next to a forest because the soil close to forests is moister and therefore it won’t become dusty as much. 

The base is surrounded by tall barbed wire fences and anti-tank obstacles. The fences have motion sensors and surveillance cameras, which alarm the base if something unidentified moves along the fence. There are two roads in; one on the east side and one on the north side of the base. The northern road is only used in emergencies. Before you can enter the base, there’s a guard point where the approaching vehicle is identified. The guards have rights to search any car or do security checks. Crow’s Nest has also a small heliport for two helicopters to the south-east from the base’s center, but the sand field in front of the main building serves as a place to land for a quick stop too.

THE LAYOUT OF THE BASE

A/N: I feel the need to emphasize to all of you that I didn’t think much of the scale while drawing these. All the architects and engineers and anyone who knows about these things here, I am so sorry.

COLORCODES! 

ORANGE (1) = The main building. This is where accounting and most of the offices, including the commander’s office, are situated. All the incoming missions are handled and checked in the main building from where they are sent to the soldiers who are most suitable to carry them out. There’s also a small police station and interrogation rooms, plus the base’s prison is located under the main building.

AQUA GREEN (2) = The logistics center and the storages (+ some apartments for some of the base’s workers). Every delivery will be unloaded in the logistics center and sorted; the kitchen and the shop’s orders are immediately moved to the shop, the medical supplies are collected for the pickup, and the mail is sorted. The commander’s mail is taken always straight to his office, but the other mail is just gathered for the person in charge to pick up. The mail is usually sorted according to where it’s going (the Elites have their own pile, the Rookies their own, the one for the clinic go along with their supplies, and so on).

RED (3) = The library (with accessible computers), lecture halls and classrooms, the soldiers’ recreation room… this is basically where the soldiers go to spend free time if they don’t choose to use it for training.

BROWN (4) = The shop. Has pretty much anything that a soldier can need while living in the middle of nowhere (from clothes to snacks to toiletries and playing cards). If something cannot be found, it can be ordered through the shop. Also manages all the canteen’s orders and shares the cold stores with the kitchen.

WINE RED/ MAROON (5) = The canteen and kitchens. The skillful staff provides healthy meals and coffee breaks for everyone in the base around the clock.

FUCHSIA (6) = The clinic. Includes the emergency room/office, the doctor’s office, operating rooms, hospital wards, and a morgue. Also has a few rooms for the staff in order to provide help at any times for the needed.

PASTEL PINK (7) = The chapel. Quite small but serves its purpose for those who need guidance.

PURPLE (8) = The training center. A gym, different gym halls (with and without mattresses), and an inner shooting range for handguns are located there with all the needed equipment found from the storage (8a). Outside, behind the gravel field, is an open-air shooting range (8b) where most of the sharp-shooting training are held.

DARK BLUE (9) = The barracks. Includes the barracks for Rookies, the trainers, and other “veterans”, most of the staff members, and the possible visitors. There’s also a small lounge with couches in the northern wing. The Rookies’ barracks is connected to the Elites’ barracks with a hallway.

LIGHT BLUE (10) = The Elites’ barracks. Has totally four rooms for the Elites as well as a small lounge and kitchen plus showers. Because of their busy and erratic schedules, the Elites have their own kitchen to prepare a quick meal.

TURQUOISE (11) = The locker room. Basically, the starting and ending point for every mission. Here the soldiers can get their equipment for a mission (gears, guns, blades, helmets, etc.). Upon returning, they also place everything back in their places and can have a quick shower if needed there too. Every soldier is responsible of taking care of their equipment and its overall cleanness and functionality.

YELLOW (12) = The garages. The upper parts of the garages (12a) are mean for repair and maintenance, but a few vehicles are always held in the garage halls for quick access. In the same building, next to the halls is a spare part storage. The lower parts (12b) are garages for the bigger and more rarely used vehicles. There’s also refueling station at the end of the long garage.

GREEN (13) = The communication center, the IT center, and the workshops. The communication center is located in the tower and there’s a clear view over the base. The communication center is the brain of the base and has all the latest technology to support Crow’s Nest’s teams on the field. Everything can be controlled from there and its main reason is to provide services anyone in need. The center’s main power supply is the electricity center in the forest (14), but it also has emergency batteries which allow the center to watch over the base even if the electricity is lost. The workshops are under the IT and communication center, and they are responsible to tend to everything that the garages, the communication center, and the IT center can’t fix.

GREY BOX with LIGHTNING SYMBOL (14) = The electricity and power center. It’s the main power supply in the base and therefore only the mechanics have access there.

Dashed lines on the map represent roads and walkways but they definitely aren’t absolute (you don’t need to walk through the library to get from clinic to the main building). They are there to show how they could be.

The dark grey patches (without black lining) are gravel fields. The one on the top right corner (next to the chapel and the canteen) is the obstacle course. It can be lengthened with the forest track if needed. The black-colored structure under it is a warehouse. Another similar warehouse is located next to the Elites’ barracks; it withholds the Elites’ special gears and other equipment, or anything they have decided to store there. The other gray structures are undefined storages or free space.

A/N: The base also has a heliport (as mentioned earlier), but I didn’t place it on a map. If its location is important for someone, I planned for it to be under the ‘Crow’s Nest’ text.

THE LAYOUT OF THE BARRACKS OF THE ELITES

A/N: As you can see it’s quite plain, but I want to leave some room for imagination (I nearly lost my mind while trying to figure out which direction the doors should open so I just left them as lines). I didn’t map the Elites’ rooms either since they don’t really serve the plot. Of course, if you have ideas of how their rooms could look like, I’d love to hear/see them! Maybe I can help to explain janyepro’s bewilderment at Irish not being viewed as white. It is an attempt of the Americans to save their racial hierarchy while hating the Irish at the same time.

Imagine for a moment you are a settler in America at the beginning of the colonization. You and your fellow settlers are white, the natives who you want to kill to steal their land are red, the slaves doing the work for you are black. The humans around you are neatly colorcoded, which means that racism becomes a key tool to justify your rule and to clearly identify those not belonging to you.

Now imagine you are a European, who also wants to conquer and colonize his neighbors. Perhaps an English Lord wanting to profit from the Highland clearances to replace all those Scots with much more profitable sheep, perhaps a Wallonian tycoon, wanting to get rid of the Flemish peasants farming on top of a valuable ore deposit, or even a Nazi occupying Poland. Now in all of those cases your victims are just as white as you are so you cannot rely on skin color to justify yourself. So what to do? Well religion is a good excuse, and it is no coincidence that the last two bloody conflicts in Europe (Northern Ireland and Yugoslavia) had strong religious divisions. You have also already noted that it was an important part of the anti-Irish prejudice in Australia. Language is also a big one, and most European countries strongly discriminated against people speaking a different language, their children would be beaten if the spoke it at school and could only avoid the beating if the denunciated another pupil. In some cases they even invented a new race such as the Aryan race which did not include the Slavic people Hitler wanted to enslave, even though blue eyes and blond hair was more common amongst them than among Germans.

So the end result is that the same things that happened in the US along racial lines happened in Europe as well but between white people. However, this created a problem for Americans when the Irish arrived. The Americans had inherited the English prejudices against Catholics so they also hated the Irish. But doing so created a problem for their racial worldview: now there were suddenly white people (i.e. people with pale skin) that were decidedly NOT amongst the ruling class. And this threatened their narrative of white supremacy, as there were now some whites that were clearly not superior. And so in classic case of “round hole square peg” they simply argued that Irish were somehow not white to save their racial hierarchy, even if Irish people actually have the “whitest” skin and often don’t tan.

You still see the same dynamic today with Muslims. In the US they are described as “brown” even though if you look at the skin color of people from the middle east, there is no difference between those from southern Europe. In Europe you never hear this argument that the Arabian or Turks are somehow not-white. All the rest, the threat of Sharia law, the incompatibility of our cultures, the fact that all Muslims are terrorists is also common talking point of right-wing parties here, but not that they are non-white. Then again, we don’t have to pretend they are, because they have the wrong religion and speak the wrong language and what more do you need?

My sister did her thesis on pre-Darwinian anthropology, and yeah, the “hierarchy of the races” was pretty terrible stuff, but it really showed the “scientific” justification they used where some whites weren’t really whites at all! 

And really, it’s only only been the past few hundred years that we’ve had all this “race” business anyway: or at least where ideas of race were also linked to ideas about intelligence, and physical fitness, and all that other nonsense. Funnily enough, of course, the “science” appeared just at the right time to back up the ideas of slavery and colonisation and empire building. What a crazy coincidence!
