i think Anominous would relate a lot to Casual. in college, he and Henry's relationship was like this: Henry would constantly deny the two were together because of internalized homophobia, but they still fucked and were romantic and whatnot. William (Anominous) was still trying to figure out who the hell he was and Henry was trying to control him to be who he wanted him to be. because of this, he didn't have the chance to fully explore himself. this is why she only had hyr trans awakening in later adult life when he surrounded herself with people who properly supported him. there's a lot more to William and Henry's relationship, but I won't get into it here.

i also want to add that it's hard for me to draw characters consistently, especially Anominous, so hyr appearance does change from drawing to drawing. i have differing pictures of hyr in my head and they don't all line up. there's also the added bonus of the illusion disk which shy uses to give himself breasts (sort of a temporary top surgery, lol). i like to incorporate little parts of my own physical appearance into his when i can, because in truth, Allium is very much a reflection of myself in a lot of ways. but his body is still very much different from mine.

I'm also hoping that, in time, i can draw him to look more of the age he actually is. he is in her 40s, but you can't really tell that by my drawings because I'm not very good at showing age quite yet. I'm just an artist who does art for fun, so improvement isn't really the biggest thing on my mind, but slow improvement is nothing to be ashamed of. sure, i am definitely self-conscious about my art sometimes, but really, I'm having fun and that's what matters.

maybe "small rant" was a bit of a lie but, eh, it's my blog, i do what i want, if you don't care then you don't care and that's fine. i want to start letting myself ramble about shit like this more but i hold back.

What’s the best episode of fraggle rock in your opinion?

So sorry, I have no idea how long this AAM has been sitting in my inbox!

Hmmmm… there are a ton of them that I rank in my personal favorites, and I could answer this according to that list, or from an objective angle based on overall writing and thematic traits.

Objectively, I’d say the best episode is “Change of Address”, as it’s the full circle moment that the series has been building up to- not to mention that I get CHILLS every time “Magic be With You” starts playing in that haunting choral arrangement. It’s impacted me so much, and maybe it sounds odd to anyone else, but it was the song I sung to my newborn niece to soothe her the first time I met her, and it worked. Overall if’s just a beautiful episode, and I’m always teary afterwards.

Other strong contenders based on objective reasons are “The Day the Music Died”, “Gone But Not Forgotten”, and possibly “River of Life” (?). I give RoL a hesitant nod because it’s so somber that I’ve only been able to watch it twice- and I’ve seen the entire series otherwise so many times I couldn’t even guess, maybe upwards of 30-40 full views? Probably more, honestly, since it’s been my favorite companion since I was a tiny kid.

In terms of my favorites though, I have a long list! It doesn’t have huge overbearing weight in the story, but “Capture the Moon” has always been one of my biggest comfort episodes, as have “Boober’s Dream”, “Red’s Blue Dragon”, and “Wembley’s Flight”. Oh, and “A Brush with Jealousy”!! Man, the song from that one… “show me the light in a butterfly’s eye/and show me the dreams of the earth and the sky”… ahh.. so pretty.. I just feel refreshed upon hearing it. :)

Capture the Moon is where the foundation for my two main Fraggle OCs comes from (and weirdly enough, I came up with them due to a very specific Fraggle dream I had as a little kid, so that’s probably why they’re so dear to me! Hah!)

I also (hot take, I know!) do have a couple episodes I don’t actually care for that much. Of course, I love them all, but I do definitely have some least favorites. (I have never really liked “The Great Radish Famine”. I can’t place why, but it’s 1000% near the bottom of my list, LOL!)

Anyway, you asked a short question, and I totally blathered on for way too long! I’m not sure if I gave a very satisfactory answer 😅 I do suppose I could be more specific and take a more analytical approach if you’d like!! Some info on who is who:

The Payne family: 15 years ago, Marielle Payne disappeared without a trace. Her parents and her brother Jonathan and his wife Clarice spent years searching for her, but it's been over a decade, and they've decided it's necessary for their daughter Hannah to have a normal life, since the chances Marielle will ever be found are astronomically small. Unbeknownst to them, she's not only alive but very much still hellbent on getting back home.

Melody: Recently kidnapped by the Gryphites Nemori, she's relieved to find a companion and protector in Marielle; and the friends she's made over the years.

Speaking of, let's do a quick breakdown of those:

We've got George, who's the sweetest little cinnamon roll and was born and raised within the organisation. Dr. Scott, who did not exactly picture his medical practice to go where it is now, but he does his best, Annie the sarcastic technician (gosh i love her), and Jamie, who's a spy and loves crochet. All but George did join the organisation free-willed but without knowing how bad they were and they have long decided they want out, especially since Marielle is there.

And then we have the man, the myth, the fucking asshole, Anomine. Obsessed with living forever (always a good sign), leader of what's basically a cult-like organisation (also very good sign and let me tell you, he may or may not have killed some people to get here and stay here) Love to hate this guy he's so evil lol

Anyways thanks for letting me rant lol I love these characters so much and their story means a lot to me

What would everyone be for halloween

Bloom- a fairy unironically. Or a weird mythological creature only she knows about

Stella- a goddess or a very over the top character like full on long ass train (you know what I mean)

Flora- a nymph or take the chance to wear a giant dress like from the 1800s

Musa- a villain, why can I see her as dracula or darth vader? Or her and Riven being Bonnie and Clyd or something like that

Tecna- something very simple like, just wear red and a pair of horns

Aisha- matching dumb custome with Brandon (I can honestly see them being matching giant t-rexs, you know what costume I mean. She uses the anominity to be ridiculous and joke around more than usual)

Sky- Something with a mask, he enjoys the anominity

Brandon- Matching Aisha, giant t-rex or something really dumb and funny like that (one of my classmates wore an Appa pijama to school and I can see them pulling that off. Like, 2 Appas or being Appa and Momo)

Helia- a cowboy or nymph or matching Flora in 1800s clothing (they both love it. HOLY CRAP I JUST THOUGHT THEY COULD MATCH AS MR.DARCY AND ELIZABETH AKSKJFNINADASFEIDNFSN)

Riven- either super simple like Tecna, just a hat OR he goes along with Musa, dressing up as a villain, being the Clyd to her Bonnie, the Elizabeth to her Frankenstein and such

Timmy- Luke Skywalker, Han Solo or maybe he and Bloom go as Mario and Luigi, or Mario and Wario or smth like that

Nabu- goes all out like Stella. Maybe as a complete goth or superhero (I can kinda see him going full on Batman, growly voice and all)

So Annie is the tech whiz of the group, she's really smart and pragmatic, also her friends' shenanigans def take years off her life lol (she would die for them without hesitation tho)

She joined the Gryphons more recently than the other members of the resistance, so when Marielle is taken she's kinda still struggling herself bc well, she kinda joined a cult and now she can't get out of it anymore. They grow close over time though.

Annie serves a little like the voice of reason, bc especially Marielle is a fuck around and find out kinda person, and Annie's the one who's like actually this is insane and you will die XD

One of my favorite parts of her character is that while she is sarcastic and no-nonsense mostly, she does truly care, Marielle for trauma reasons kinda has issues with being touched while also sometimes really needing a hug, and Annie is the one who was like well it doesn't have to be all or nothing, obviously we can just ask each time if it's what you need rn, no big deal. What queen behavior honestly. I love her sm.
