Whirl, Swerve, x Weirdcore!Reader Romantic HCs
Reader is portrayed as a gender neutral human.
You have a pet hairless cat.
Tw for swearing and mention of organs such as eyes n stuff
youtube
Whirl
Very friggin weirded out by you at first.
"The fuck do they look like that???"
He did like the repeating theme of blood and organs though.
In fact, its what made him talk to you in the first place.
You were chillin at Swerve's with Rewind when he came up to you and was like
"So.... are those real? if so, who did ya kill, and how?"
Was very confused at why you were giggling until you said they were fake and you made them yourself.
".....they look so real- Aight thats it, fleshie. You, me, this evening, my place."
"Wait why-"
"DON'T QUESTION IT!"
Not knowing what else to do, you ask Rung for directions to Whirl's room. You don't know what you were expecting, but you weren't exactly expecting to be snatched up by his giant claw by the back of your shirt and interrogated about your appearance and mannerisms as if you tried to bring a knife on a plane.
You somehow managed to keep calm though.
Over time though, Whirl did warm up to you and one day confessed and boom! Yall a thing now.
Anyways uhh. He also likes the overall unsettling/calming vibes it can give off.
The liminal spaces kinda work on him? Like yes the place does seem a bit familiar to him, but he doesn't feel the strong sense of deja vu like he's been there before.
Likes your hairless cat.... but also doesn't.
"Yeah, its cute and all, very friendly, nice little fleshy.... but why the fuck does it look like that."
Loves any weird accessories you wear, just these teeny random creatures, items, and organs dangling off you.
Stole a necklace of (fake) teeth from you and he has it hanging off his weird antenna thing on his head unless he's off killing cons or whateva.
Kinda likes the the music you listen to??? Hes weirded out by it definitely, but he does like the melodies.
Not one for physical touch but isn't opposed to it.
He usually pats you on the head with a claw, or has one around your torso (gently).
KISS HIM.
Pet names include: Babe, Squish-ball, Teeny, Creepy Crawly, Critter, Weirdo, Fucker
Will attempt to murder anyone who dares hurt you or the cat, mentally or physically. Unless you stop him of course.
He loves you a lot despite your overall strangeness.
Swerve
He loves your style so much, like i'm not kidding.
I mean how can he not? He's discovering a new human thing, that's right up his alley!
Doesn't like the bugs though. Only mildly unsettled by the organs.
And he loves your cat too, absolutely died of cuteness the first time he met them.
"OH MY GOD ROTISSERIE KITTYYYYY!!!"
They get along p well :)
Big fan of your outfits, they're unique, cute, and fun!
Carries the two of you around almost anywhere he goes.
Yall met when you were wandering the ship with your backpack of art stuff and listening to your tunes. You went down a hall you haven't been to yet and stumbled across his bar.
You walk in, staying close to the wall so you don't get stepped on or something. you make it near the main bar when he spotted you.
"Ohmygodohmygodohmygod they're real-"
He excitedly ran out from behind the bar toward you. He did that thing where you jump, land, and slide on your knees in a sitting position. What a dork XD
He landed next to you and started rambling, You couldn't help but let out a small laugh and smile as he went on.
"Oh wait sorry i forgot to say- My name is Swerve, its so nice to finally meet you!! You look so cool, like weird but very cool. It reminds me of something but i can't remember what- oh wait whats your name?"
He put you on the bar counter as he continued his work all the while continuously chatting with you.
Months later yall got together.
Very affectionate. Like i'm not kidding. Prepare to be held gently.
Liminal spaces work on him. Experiencing the Deja Vu and feelings of unsettlement fr.
Pet names are: Sweet-spark, Sugar, Kiwi, Love-bug
Loves weirdcore music. Specifically songs by Jack Stauber.
Swerve set up a lil place for you on the bar, mostly blankets and pillows with weird patterns, along with some plushies. Like a four eyed cow, a two headed dog, and a clay-face plushie of a duck.
Has lots of lil snacks for ya too.
Won't stop rambling about how much he loves you.

Tumblr media
You haven’t left his house in three days.
Haven’t had to. Snowed in. The blizzard that’s taken Jackson by storm an absolute blessing in disguise.
And sure, you feel for Maria and the strain it’s put on organizing her patrol routes. You know plenty of mothers struggle to entertain cabin-fevered-children, and you sympathize with those who have to make treks for rations they hadn’t prepared for.
Still, you can’t help but revel in the selfishness. It’s his fault, really. What else does he expect three days of doting will do to a girl?
You’re on the floor in his living room. Tummy down on the center of the rug, socked toes facing the fire he’s carefully tended to. You’re in one of his t-shirts and a pair of panties, nothing else. You don’t need much else. When the flames aren’t keeping you warm enough, he’s happy to compensate.
There’s a soft tune buzzing from the record player, and you take the time to savor the words on the pages splayed out before you. You’ve been reading a little slower today. Everything seems to slow down when he’s got you like this.
You don’t think you could ever tire of the life you’ve lived these past three days. Joel always takes care of you, in every way, big and small. But there’s been a shift towards all that is so big, the lack of responsibility and expectations allowing you to sink deeper into the roles you both understand well.
So he takes the weight of everything big, promises to nurture it, and handle it with care. And you relish in the freedom that is feeling so small, releasing your usual tension and burdens for an aloofness that would otherwise not be acceptable. You’re not sure how long you’ll have it, and you aren’t willing to spare a moment.
Your mind wanders, less focused on the words inscribed before you and more on the images that paint your memory. That of his hands, that have gently washed your hair. That lay out your clothes—or lack thereof—and deliver you cups of tea. That glide over your skin morning, noon, and night, coaxing breath and cries alike. That hold you still, close, when he sucks on your neck and fills your womb, the remedy for all grievances. Silences your mind, the numbness bright and freeing.
“Baby?” he beckons, and it sounds like he’s repeating himself. Like you didn’t hear him the first time, and perhaps you didn’t. Too entranced by the cozy little oasis he’s created around you, for you.
You cast your eyes towards his voice, dripping in honey, the way that always makes your belly warm. He’s leaning in the archway between the kitchen and living room, a gentle smile curling at the edges of his lips.
“Are ya hungry?” he asks, and you scrunch up your nose.
Admittedly, you’ve been a bit indolent. But it’s easy to languish in the comforts of mindlessness when he makes it so easy. You haven’t cleaned a single dish, washed a single article of clothing, or cooked a single meal, in three days. You’ve hardly walked from room to room without Joel adamantly at your side. The lack of energy exertion squanders your appetite.
He tsks his tongue and slants his eyes at you disapprovingly.
“C’mon, baby. You’ve hardly eaten today. Let me make you a snack at least, yeah?”
You sigh. You don’t want to give him a hard time, even if it’s only for the sake of regaining his attention. So, you offer him a lackluster nod, and he smiles in return—something prideful, that of a man who is pleased to preserve you, and even more so when you’re willing to let him.
He disappears into the kitchen for a handful of moments, and when he returns, sets the plate of chopped veggies down on the coffee table. You sit up, and instead of reaching for it, extend your arms towards him. An overwhelming desire to be held takes you, as it has for these many days, many times. He’s been off doing chores for nearly an hour now, and you can feel yourself growing impatient, needy.
“Nuh-uh,” Joel chastises, shaking his head and stepping back just out of reach. He isn’t fazed by the pout that befalls your lips. “Not till you finish your food.”
You huff, making a show out of crawling your way to the edge of the table and snatching one of the carrots up. You peer up at him as you bring it between your teeth, taking an aggressive chomp out of it as if to prove that even though you’ll listen, it doesn’t mean you’ll like it.
Joel shakes his head and chuckles, pleasantly amused. He approaches you while you chew, knees to your nose, and you crane your neck back to get a good view of him like this. So close, towering, and dripping with power and ease. You’ve never known anyone so mighty, yet so loving.
He reaches a hand down and gingerly pets the crown of your head. “That’s a good girl,” he muses, and the low purr of his voice sends a pang of want through your gut.
You chew a little faster now. Make sure he knows how good you are, how good you’ll remain for him and him alone.
A soft little whimper leaves your throat at the loss of his hand, and the sight of him turning back towards the kitchen.
“Just gotta finish a couple more things, darlin’,” he calls over his shoulder. “I expect to find that plate clean when I come back!”
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you think, turning your attention toward the colorful spread. As if your body means to spite you, you feel a sudden grumble in your stomach. You are feeling pretty hungry, and he knows. He always knows.
You eat slowly but steadily, determined now to finish before he returns. He’s scooped a spoonful of Tommy’s homemade hummus on the side, the flavors making you bounce a little in delight. The chickpeas are out of season, and Joel only has a handful of his share left for the winter, but he always gives you extra. He knows how much you enjoy it, and the selflessness of the act today only furthers your growing want.
Fifteen minutes pass before you hear his footsteps return towards the living room, and you’re swallowing your last mouthful. He shuffles his way towards the couch, and you watch in silent fascination as he lowers himself with a heavy groan and crack of his knees. He sighs, spreading his meaty thighs wide, and letting his eyes close for a brief moment. You know, despite how much he enjoys his time with you, the days cooped up haven't been easy on him. He’s a doer by nature, perhaps the exact reason he’s channeled all of his energy into caring for you.
His eyes find you as soon as they open, and you wait with bated breath for him to pat a palm against one of his thighs.
“C’mon now,” he murmurs. You don’t need to be told twice.
You abandon your empty plate, which he acknowledges with an approving nod, and slowly crawl your way around the coffee table. You nudge yourself between his feet, rising to your knees, flashing him wide eyes, and waiting for his hands to grip you under your arms and scoop you into his lap. You’re all flimsy limbs and needy fingers, straddling the mass of him—the stretch that you feel in your inner thighs does not go unnoticed, much to accommodate—and wrapping your arms eagerly around his shoulders. You bury your nose into his neck, slumping into his chest, and sigh.
You’re warm, and content, and full, and so small.
He hums, the deep sound rattling through his chest into yours, and you shiver both at the sound and the gentle touch of his fingertip tracing over your bare thighs. You can’t help but wiggle in closer, the rough friction of jeans against your soft cotton panties dizzying.
“Daddy,” you whisper, voice raspy with disuse.
Gentle touches turn to kneads, palm-fulls of your thighs squeezed between his fingers, one hand drifting up and taking a handful of your ass. His touch is grounding, comforting. Turns your body into molasses so you may drip into him with ease, head fuzzy, inundated by his sheer presence. Your eyes droop shut, and a little yawn creeps up through your throat.
“S’about that time, little one.” His voice is so soft, it’s hardly there. Like coaxing a baby animal out of hiding. “Should get ya settled for a nap.”
You whine a sound of protest, but make no effort to move. He’s right, of course. You could fall asleep right here, right now. Bathed in his warmth, the crackle of the fire, the soft tunes. His other hand has trailed up your spine, drawing soothing circles, lulling you in.
“M’not tired.” A lie, but you’re greedy. Greedy as your cunt he hasn’t touched all morning, that starts to grind gently against the front of his jeans. “Wanna play, Daddy,” you mutter into his neck, placing a chaste kiss on the vein that protrudes there.
A low growl settles in his chest, but his hand at your backside slides towards your hip, wrapping his fingers around it and holding you still. You can feel him swell below you, all the restraint in the world unable to stop him from reacting to you the way he does. The way he always does. He’s turned you greedy.
“How about,” he starts, his tone one of reason, though it drops an octave with desire, “you take your nap right here on Daddy’s lap, and he’ll wake you when it’s time, hm?”
You admire his restraint, you really do. You also cannot deny how good he is, tactful in the way he lets his hand trail all the way up your back until it’s woven into your hair, scratching gentle circles across your scalp, the way he always does when you need help falling asleep.
Your breathing slows, eyes still screwed shut, but you give him another humph of disagreement, and he chuckles. He presses your nose deeper into his neck, wraps a heavy arm fully around you now, and flushes you against him, using the weight of his hold to settle you.
Yeah, he’s good.
“One hour, that’s all,” he reasons.
You sigh, already nodding off somewhere between sleep and wake, the dull thrum in your lower belly overcome by the sensations of slumber.
“You swear it?” you press, and he places a kiss on your temple.
You feel his smile against your skin, brighter than the sun itself. And you’re reminded, just before you slip away, how lucky you are for the gift of mindlessness. A silent promise to yourself that when you wake, you’ll cherish the dwindling hours of the day, unsure if tomorrow holds the same luxury.
“On my life.”

── NO GRAVE CAN HOLD MY BODY DOWN
(minor spoilers for season 2!) sevika. near what feels like death, sevika has a revelation and a confession.
Sevika thinks two things when the Hexcore's static passes through her scar and seizes her bloodstream.
One: she can't believe that she's writhing on the floor in agony, beaten by Vi's little Piltie girlfriend in her ridiculous beret.
Two: she might actually die today.
It's ridiculous, she thinks, how everyone has gone to absolute shit. There's a new sort of madness glinting in Jinx's no-longer-baby-blues (the odd magenta shimmer of her eyes sends a shiver down her spine) and not to mention that little shit that has tagged along in this operation, with Jinx doing little to dissuade the runt besides some sarcastic melodramatic warning and a few finger guns. And now they're here, beaten and clawing at each other's faces wildly like fucking children (she can see Jinx in her peripheral, has never seen her fight so sloppily with her little hands; she understands now why Silco had insisted her skills laid in engineering and inventions, rather than the fists that her sister wielded so boldly) and Sevika doesn't know where the fuck Isha is nor does she know what the fuck is going on with their weapons. Her new arm is fine, albeit heavy with extra weight and throbbing with phantom pain— but something had gone wrong
She's going to die. She's going to fucking die, and because of some fucking magic trick gone wrong.
Sevika doesn't fear death. Hell, she's lasted a lot longer than what her own mother thought. Life down here in the Undercity is nothing like the wealth and opulence and light of Piltover's Topside. To some, death may have been a blessing. Some days, Sevika thinks that it's better than cleaning up after Jinx's messes and running Silco's errands.
But Silco is dead, and the one thing he loved more than their city is off the fucking rails. Sevika can't die now. Not with these fucking blue bellies gassing her home with the fucking Grey again, not when there's so much left to be done.
And maybe there's a third thing in the mix too. Caught between rage and pure, genuine terror, Sevika twitches and grunts and claws at her skin, thinking: Fuck. Fuck. She's going to die like a wimp whimpering on the cold stone, and she's never going to see you again.
Sevika is not the romantic sort. Before you, she'd found simple pleasures in the smoky rooms of Margo's brothels, or pretty doe-eyed lasses she met at the bar. But now she finally finds it in herself to admit that for fucking once, she might have wanted to take you to a candlelit dinner. Seen you giggle and shit about her poor attempts at romance— not the malicious sort of giggle, no, but fond. Endlessly fond, in the way Sevika never deserved.
The thing — magic, engineering, Hextech or whatever the fuck it's called — crackles across her veins and bones, setting fire to her blood and the viscera that sits contained under her skin. Her body gives another involuntary jerk. It's certainly not her first time having the misfortune of being caught at the wrong place at the wrong time— hell, that blue explosion all those years ago is the reason she has to rely on a metal arm now. But this is different, wrong. It sinks deep into her bones, claws at the essence of her being with its arcane
Sevika tries to scream, but she can't.
In the ringing between her ears, Sevika can only think of where she could be— anywhere but here, either dying or something far, far worse. She wants to sit by your bar after a long day's work while listening to you re-tell the odd and frankly ridiculous narratives your patrons tell you when they're neck deep in drink and tab. She wants to wake up in the middle of the night when you roll over and instinctively press yourself to her side for warmth in your sleep. And maybe, more than anything, she wants to go back in time and cradle your face when you beg her not to leave, kiss you and tell you that she'll be home in time for dinner.
(She'd dismissed you then, told you that a spoiled Piltie couldn't beat her ass hard enough to keep her down.
She was wrong. So fucking wrong.)
Sevika thinks of you now, waiting at home. Anxious; oh, so anxious, because Silco is dead and Jinx has been haywire and who is level-headed enough to at least attempt to clean everything up, but she's only one woman and the Chembarons are fucking deranged and she's just— just—
"Just come home safe, Vika."
Fuck. Fuck.
From her periphery, she registers Cait — Vi's little girlfriend, that prestigious bitch — stumbling to her feet, fumbling for her glitching (why the fuck is it glitching?) rifle. Sevika moans in pain, trying to will some strength into her muscles to get up, fucking get up! Cait can't be a better shot than Jinx. No one is. But Jinx is out of weapons, having been clawing at Vi with her bare hands and pink-blue nails for what might have been just a minute or hours, Sevika's brain is too muddled to tell. But she knows Jinx, knows that she's nearly damn useless when it comes to rationality without her sanity and her trinkets, and when she's squabbling with Vi so blindly, so violently, Sevika knows Cait will have a clear shot.
And she does.
Sevika hears a cry. Pained, almost child-like. She thinks its Jinx, at first— and for a split moment, it is. Jinx, blue-haired, glossy-eyed, a finger shot straight off its knuckle. Electricity crackles over the palm of her gloved hands, her shoulders rising and falling rapidly with each breath she takes.
But then the pain overtakes Sevika again, and she clutches at her rib, her leg— everything. She wants it out, but she doesn't know where it even is.
When her eyes clear again and she can breathe semi-properly, it's Isha now. That little runt with her mop of messy brown hair and that stupid helmet that's toppled to the floor. Vi is straddling her sister-- or was, before that stupid kid ran from where she was hiding in the rafters (when had she gotten down, and how did she do it so quickly?), shoved herself between the pink-haired turncoat and Jinx.
There's two holding a gun now.
Words being spoken. Isha wails, clinging onto Jinx fiercely even when Jinx tries to shove her off, equal parts frustrated and confused by the younger girl's behaviour. Sevika thinks of you, just as quick to shove yourself between Sevika and danger when the two of you had been barely strangers.
"Come back to me."
A groan rips itself from her throat, silent but pained. Sevika pulls herself to her feet, the goddamned Devil's lightning still crackling around her limbs like some fancy magic trick gone horribly wrong (She hopes it doesn't ruin her new arm. She literally just got it this week, goddammit.) Cait's back is turned to her, the Enforcer's hands gripping her rifle like a lifeline— but too stupid, too caught up in playing hero for her fucked little kingdom to notice the heavy footfalls behind her.
She stumbles to the wall, wracks her brain for somethng. She's missing it. Sevika blames it on that damn Jinx, the way she yaps like an overexcited puppy when she's explaining her plans; and the way she never actually elaborates on them, because "Sevika is too dumb, Sevika won't get it." Stupid kid. Sevika needs to get her out of here.
"Sevika. Please, don't do this," your pretty face, your teary little eyes. You're a tough little cookie, Sevika knows, like a stubborn weed growing in their nasty streets, but you're always so quick to tears when you think Sevika's staking her bets too high.
Maybe she did. But she can't lose the game. Not now.
One more bet.
Her human arm fumbles clumsily over the flat stone wall— not one of those pillars that Jinx and Vi had so recklessly ruined in their squabble. She feels along the ridges, remembers the flares and bombs that Jinx had planted all around Topside.
There's a click.
"Don't go."
Oh, she's not going. She's got another day yet.

Once upon a time, centuries and centuries ago, Empress Charla Corrupto gave birth to three sons. Their names were Xiro, Xelter, and Xirus. The Corrupto Family was known for being the wealthiest and possibly most powerful family in the multiverse, and have been for many generations. Especially Emperor Xavier Corrupto. The emperor was feared by everyone at the time, monsters, humans, nobody dared to suffer his unbearable wrath.
The boys were each named after a god of the Lost Era. With titles as important and sacred as those to their family, Emperor Xavier had huge expectations for his sons. Empress Charla was against training their children at such a young age, but the king insisted that this was for their own good. One day, Emperor Xavier discovered something special in one of his sons, Xirus had turned out to be an Omnipotent, which meant his power had no limits. That meant he could continue to grow in strength as he pleases with the endless potential that he had.
Discovering that one of his sons could possibly match up with the prophecy of a reincarnated Omnipotent God, he swore to make Xirus his number one heir into a powerful ruler.
Of course that came with a huge 360°, the fear of someday being overthrown by his own son. The full power that could intentionally be unlocked, the kid will be unstoppable, he would kill everyone that stood in his way. He would become the monster everyone feared in the legends.
The Omnipotent of Chaos.
Of course, that would be silly, Emperor Xaiver thought. What type of destruction could this child possibly cause? He wasn’t really THAT dangerous…right? Xiro never thought too much of his brother being an OP god, in fact, he found it kind of cool that his brother could be the man in the history books.
Xelter of course, had always been jealous of his brother Xirus. He didn’t find it cool or wasn’t in deep awe like everybody else on the Corrupto Spaceship were, he saw it as as a stupid cheat code to get stronger quicker, meanwhile, he had been training his entire childhood with little to no respect from anyone. He hated his brother with burning passion, if anyone was to be the next Empeor of the multiverse, it was to be HIM.
Xirus didn’t care, however, and loved the praise and attention he had received from the subordinates and the citizens. One day, however he snuck to his father’s room only to find a book of forbidden techniques, in which the emperor had been secretly using on his son to keep him in control of his mind.
The child didn’t think too much of the book and was about to turn and leave, until he found a note under his father’s pillow, evidence in which his father wanted to have him sealed away in the void for eternity. Xirus couldn’t believe it, after all this time, abiding by his father’s rules, his father was trying to get rid of him for good, simply for being stronger than him.
This made him livid, he also assumed that his mother was in on the plan as well, since he had always noticed she seemed a bit afraid of her children’s power in general. He had never felt so betrayed in his life. He took the book and began to look through it closely this time, finding techniques that were forbidden for a reason, he went through the list intrigued, a sadistic smile growing on his face. Eventually finding some techniques he found cool.
Blackhole Star: Instant Travel. Time: 1.5 seconds.
The Corruption Touch: A puppeteer technique, control anyone to your will with a single touch, or if they touch you by mistake. It works just as well on gods. The person who has been corrupted will lose every sense of themselves and will only follow your lead. Time: 3.9 seconds.
Boop: A odd name but a deadly technique. Can disintegrate anyone’s body from the inside and cause them to explode. Time: Instantly.
Ctrl Alt Delete: A genocide technique, can eradicate any mutiverse in sight, no matter which one it may be. Time: 5.4 seconds.
Otherworldly Transportation: Similar to the Blackhole Star technique, but allows you to visit the real world, different fandoms, etc. Time: Instantly.
Puppet Eyes: Simply able to control anyone just by looking at them and controlling them with your eyes. Time: No limit.
Omni Blasters (Unlimited): Technically Gaster Blasters, but you can summon as many as you like. Time: Instantly.
All of these incredible techniques, these beautiful creations crafted by the gods themselves. Xirus couldn’t help but wonder why his father was keeping this from him. But that didn’t really matter at this point. He trained himself every day to master each technique with ease. Within the next 100 years he would have his sweet revenge. He would show them all the real power of a God.
Timeskip to 100 years later
Xirus was crowned emperor and his father hosted a coronation to celebrate. Although his father forgotten about the book and what he had almost done all those years ago, Xirus was still not over it. In this current time he wasn’t ruling over just the outcodes, but the incodes to. And over the past 100 years, he had really grown to hate the mortals just as much as he hated his father.
He saw them as nothing but selfish, greedy, irredeemable weaklings who did nothing but killed each other and start wars simply because they knew they could. One day he had enough of watching the world go up in flames and decided to put an end to these worms by traveling to earth and causing a worldly genocide. Killing every monster, human, man, woman, child, it didn’t matter.
He had always been focused on bad apples and never bothered to acknowledge the good ones, some that could’ve potentially saved his outlook on the world. This broke him. He was starting to enjoy hearing the screams of the weak, the cries, the begs for mercy. But this was the last straw, the last bit of remorse in him dried up like a shriveled raisin. He became the monster everyone feared in the legends….
Empress Charla was the first to discover what her monster of a son had done with her universal sight seeing powers. She cried, realizing she failed her son. And now their family was forever broken. Before she can tell anyone else what he did, Xirus activated puppet eyes and had her kill two guards in such a gruesome manner. He feigned horror as soon as his father entered the room. Labeling his own mother as a traitor who’s gone psycho and needed to be stopped.
Xavier with genuine horror and disbelief on his face, was absolutely speechless. He was oblivious to the fact that she was under their son’s control. Xirus begin to put his plan into action and ordered the other guards who just entered to have his mother killed by morning as she couldn’t be “saved” anymore.
Of course they were hesitant because this was the empress who they have served for over a decade, then again, they weren’t here to question, they were here to follow orders. The next day she was killed in front of everyone in the empire. Xirus showed absolutely no empathy or remorse for his actions. Of course everyone else couldn’t believe what had just happened, the rumors of the empress killing two guards spread like wildfire. Some refused to believe that she could possibly do something so… horrific.
Xiro and Xelter had watched their mother die in cold blood and their brother was just smiling like this was some type of sick joke. Xelter didn’t wanna believe the rumors, but sadly, the weight was too much for him to bear. After that horrific day, nobody was allowed to speak of what happened, or else they would meet the same fate. So Xiro and Xelter were forced to keep it to themselves.
Eventually, everybody moved on. As if this was just a sick dream. However, the once mighty emperor Xavier would never forget what happened. In fact, the trauma was so hard to cope with, it ended up driving him to the brink of insanity. Xirus saw this as a moment of vulnerability, and decided to put him out of his misery.
“Poor father. You should’ve known that someday I would find out about you sealing me from existence completely. All because your pride couldn’t handle me being more powerful than you. Hm? You don’t know what I’m talking about? Heh, it seems old age finally caught up with you, you’ve been forgetting a lot of things lately. Well, in a couple more seconds it won’t matter anymore. You lost this game of war the moment you believed you ever had a chance of claiming victory.”
He ended his father right there and then. Soon after he knew his empire would start questioning where the previous emperor was and would start to get worried, so he took matters into his own hands by erasing everyone’s memories on the ship to believing his father never existed to begin with, as well as his mother.
He decided to leave the AU Xirustale behind him as it was no longer worth anything to him, his loyal soldiers following behind. This opened his eyes to endless possibilities. He had a whole world out there to explore now, but not just for bird watching. He wanted everyone to know the name which was Emperor Xirus Corrupto. With his growing empire, he manipulated millions of strong individuals into joining his forces. He was growing fast by the day, it was hard to tell how many soldiers he had working for him.
He convinced strong entities and anomalies such as himself to becoming allies with him. Such as: Error 404, King Mutiverse, Error, etc. He became unstoppable, he became what everybody feared in the legends of his AU, he became the monster his father feared he would be. He became the monster that would change his brother’s perspective on him in general. And finally, he became the monster known as-
THE OMNIPOTENT OF CHAOS!!!
The End: The Corrupto Family’s Story.

Revenant Side Stories
Story IV: Price
[Konchar] [Graves] [Gaz] [AO3]
This one is a little different from the other side stories, but I have to say I had a lot of fun diving into the way Price experiences his powers from his POV.
This one is probably the most plot-relevant story, in relation to part 2. Hope you enjoy it!
The human mind is a deceptively complex subject. No person thinks the same way, Johnathan has found - some see images scrolling by, vague hieroglyphs symbolizing thoughts. Others narrate their day-to-day life, to themselves or to an imaginary audience. Once, he came across a woman, who, being deaf from birth, imagined words as hand signs.
He could take decades studying a single person, exploring the connections in their grey matter. If he wasn’t devoted to keeping his hands dirty to keep the world clean, John would’ve considered working in a field more suitable for his powers.
As it was, the people he comes in contact the most become the subjects of his investigations.
The first of his boys was the hardest. John met Simon merely a few months after his own Reaping, while the grasp he had on his powers was far weaker. He remembers the first time he arrived at reading distance from the Ghost; the sharp, fractured mind of the then-Sergeant was like a physical ache in his own, and he had to shamefully retreat to the bathroom to vomit.
They were both newly not-quite-dead, both far too powerful to allow back to the field while they didn’t have a tight leash on their abilities. So, they trained together.
Simon, or Ghost as he insisted on being referred as, really shouldn’t have been cleared to stay in the military. John didn’t have to be a shrink to tell, the choking feeling of the Sergeant’s memories and flashback almost bringing him to his knees countless times.
The kid went through worse than most veterans have. He had the powers to match.
Limbo. An ability never seen before in the entirety of recorded human history, the first revenant of the Void Reaper. The higher brass saw it as a cheat code for warfare.
John saw it as a defence mechanism of a broken man.
Ghost’s mind was his first, and perhaps biggest, hurdle as a commanding officer and as a revenant. It took weeks before he could stand to be in the same room with him for longer than an hour, months for the inky, tar-like miasma coating each of Simon’s thoughts to clear.
Ghost began to trust him. See that John is the closest one to really understand what made him a revenant, the fundamental reason of Limbo’s existence: It was never about being an off switch to hostile soldiers, like General Shepherd treated it.
Limbo was a world in Simon’s full control, a place where for once in his life, he could make sure he wouldn’t be hurt.
But that wouldn’t be apparent, from just watching him on the field, from reading mission reports on his unmatched powers. No other soldier, General, or Spiritulogist saw what John saw.
And while he tried to explain, it all fell on deaf ears.
John carries many regrets in his life, but allowing Limbo to become a hostile realm toward Ghost might be his worst one.
Guilt isn’t an uncommon emotion among soldiers. Some hide it better than others, but Captain Price learned to see through mental walls a long time ago. While he didn’t have the opportunity to peer into many revenant minds, it was even more prevalent in theirs.
That is to say, Kyle Garrick shouldn’t have surprised him.
He met the young Corporal barely two weeks after his death, the sight of crushed bones still terribly fresh in his mind. It didn’t deter Price like Ghost has - he has learned a lot since, lived through worse - and instead intrigued him. Call it morbid curiosity, but the sheer amount of care Kyle has for each and every soldier on his team, dead or alive, was a sign he will go far, in Price’s eyes.
That value, as admirable as it was, was currently eating the young soldier from the inside. Before he could take Gaz under his wing, he was forced to watch from the sidelines as the regret and shame weighed on Kyle’s heart. It gave him a considerable amount of comfort, to watch the man grow when they had the chance to work together.
Despite knowing both of them, Price wasn’t sure how Ghost and Gaz would handle a mission together. He knew they would be as professional as ever, but Ghost’s reputation precedes him by many paces, and it unfairly emphasizes times when he either was out of control due to the unimaginable weight of his past, or under orders.
So it came as quite a shock when Ghost not only complimented the Sergeant, but in his mind thought he would be content with working with Gaz again.
Price was already meaning to get Gaz on the 141, but seeing how well the two mashed with each other made him all the more certain of the need for the taskforce. He initially pitched it to the higher brass with an explanation of the tactical benefits of gathering their strongest revenants and training them together, allowing for the soldiers to explore unique and powerful ways to combine their abilities.
But secretly, it also allows Price to keep an eye on them, be their commanding officer, and make sure nobody will take advantage of those otherworldly powers without taking in consideration that maybe, despite already dying, revenants aren’t any less human than their fellow soldiers.
And for a long time, it was them three, against whatever fate threw at them. The taskforce gained infamy as the only revenant-exclusive squad in the world, mission after mission joining a long line of successes.
It wasn’t all perfect behind closed doors. Ghost’s Limbo continued to be hostile towards its owner, forcing him to work alone. Gaz was still burdened, and while having other revenants around him helped, showing him he’s not alone in his struggles, sometimes it was not enough.
Their team had their flaws, but it was better than any other alternative they had.
Then, Soap found his way in.
Sergeant MacTavish was an odd revenant, even among the unusual. From the first time meeting him, Price noted just how much the Scot seems to repress, even within the comfort of his own mind. Peering in, it was as if thick concrete walls were erected around his thoughts, sectioning off the different parts that made up Soap.
His personal file wasn’t much better - full pages blacked out, especially any pertaining to his Reaping. Price knows the smell of red tape, and Soap’s file was reeking with it.
It brought him years back to Simon, the way both of them appear to be afraid of themselves.
He decided to assign them both to a simple mission. Ghost resisted at first, as he always does when Price tries to get him out of his shell, so to speak. Luckily for him, and unfortunately for Ghost, he has the final word as a Captain.
It ended up a shitshow, because it always does when Price needs it not to. Or, that’s what he thought at first, hearing the initial reports.
Ghost’s demeanor was almost somber when Price asked him about Soap. Regret, and what Price could define as the feeling of missing out, surrounded the Lieutenant’s thoughts. Something about Soap caught his attention.
It took months before an opportunity arose, and an incredible effort from his side to not spill those thoughts accidentally (lest his plans fail, and his boys become disappointed), but Price managed to convince his superiors that the taskforce needs a new member. That member, of course, being Soap.
Price did not foresee just how much that addition will change his team. To say he regrets it would be a lie… but knowing what he knows now, he might’ve considered it longer.
Seeing how happy the three of them are, how things simply click better with Soap around, Price believes he would’ve made the same choice again and again.
Price came across a few revenants in his life, gazed into their thoughts more than once. Each of them were wholly extraordinary. The experience of dying and meeting a Reaper alters one’s mind irrevocably.
Out of all of those revenants, there’s only one that made Johnathan Price feel an innate sort of dread, one whose thoughts were disturbing enough to keep him awake at night for weeks after their short meeting. One that forced his own to a breaking point, made Price physically hear the creaking of his crumbling brain attempting to process what it is seeing.
That mind being, Vladimir Makarov’s.
Tumblr media
John’s Reaper isn’t of the chatty kind, the one that tries to control its revenants with an iron fist. For the most part, it let him do as he pleases, occasionally warning him from this mission or another.
The sudden shift between their world and his Reaper’s realm never ceases to send a bolt of shock through him. He has observed minds when they were brought to distant places beyond their understanding. It made his eyes bleed.
This one is no different.
“R-Reaper. To what do I owe the honors?” John asks, wincing as a headache attacks him, brain overstimulated by the shifting shapes around him, concepts he has no words for appearing and disappearing with a blink.
“You are to be sent on a mission in a few hours.” the Reaper responds, a wild mass of flashing lights, like synapses of a starless sky. Price’s gift allows him to see the hidden messages between the words.
“Interest. Warning. Fear.”
…Fear…?
What… could make his Reaper… afraid?
The ancient voice continues, “You will be asked to kill a man. A revenant.”
“Danger. Blood. Enemy.”
John’s brows scrunch in confusion, “Reaper-?”
“You cannot kill that revenant. Under orders of Fate, you will not kill that revenant.”
“Command. Terror. Fate.”
John opens his mouth, to ask one of the billion questions swirling in his mind, but the synapses flash, his body gets the feeling of falling, and-
John gasps, eyes rapidly taking in his surroundings. Back in his office, kicked out of the Reaper realm before he could let out a peep. He sighs, wiping sweat from his brow, nape still tingling with the wrongness of his Reaper’s messages.
Something is scaring his Reaper to obey… ‘Fate’. John’s not sure what exactly that is, but he knows who will.
He’s about to punch in the number of the resident Spiritulogist on base, when a knock sounds on his door. “Open!” He calls loudly, his mind already supplying him with the orders the rookie is about to tell him.
They have a mission lined up for him, and he’s to be debriefed immediately. The rookie mumbles as such, and John waves him off.
His stomach churns in a way it hasn’t for a very long time.
“Bravo 0-6, what’s your status?”
Price brings a hand up to his comms, “solid, in position, no sign of the target.”
The watcher copies his response, clicking off channel. John swallows thickly, adjusting the hold on his sniper. On paper, this mission should be simple - a man named Andrei Nolan has been observed to be making moves in favor of several international criminal rings. The SAS needs him dead, and Price is here to make sure of that.
The intel suggested a possibility of the man being a revenant, but with no confirmed Reaper, the information doesn’t help him in the slightest.
The port he’s overlooking is said to be housing missiles in some of its shipment containers. Nolan will arrive to buy them from a local arms dealer. They would’ve not sent someone like Price usually, but not only did Nolan evade capture several times, he recently ramped up his activity, pointing to a new employer.
Any other day, Price would’ve killed him with no hesitation. Today, however, the words of his Reaper echo within his mind, dread spreading through his synapses, the emotions that coursed through the interdimensional being now flowing through him.
Reapers don’t lie, and his certainly doesn’t mince words. If it didn’t see a reason to warn John, it wouldn’t have.
There wasn’t enough time to explain that to his superiors, though. Humans don’t understand the connection Reapers and revenants have, hell, they barely understand Reapers as a concept, let alone their intricate oddities.
He inhales deeply. John hopes he’s close enough to read Nolan, when he finally shows up. Perhaps the man’s mind might have a clue as to why his Reaper needs him to stay alive.
And as if his thoughts have been heard, Andrei Nolan shows his face. Or… is that Nolan? The description given in the brief fits him, black hair, brown eyes, Eastern European man in his 30s, wearing a black suit and a red tie. But…
His left eye is closed, lower lid pink like it’s infected, and Price can’t tell from the distance, but… there seems to be a red line, almost like a tear, drawn down his cheek.
Price frowns, adjusting the zoom on his scope, analyzing the face as much as he can while the man moves. The seller arrived already, and is now showing “Nolan” the goods, but he doesn’t pay mind to him. The left eye seemingly confirms the revenant status, something about it is unsettling in a Reaper’s way, but if that’s the case, wouldn’t the intel note that?
“0-6 to Watcher.” Price mutters, eyes not straying from the supposed target, “I’ve got eyes on a man fitting the description, but something doesn’t line up.”
“This is Watcher, what is the problem, Lieutenant?”
“His left eye is shut, red marking down his left cheek. Sign of a revenant, don’t know who’s.”
The line goes quiet for a few beats, “...standby, 0-6.”
The crease between his brows deepens, John sighs and waits. The alleged Nolan and the seller are still discussing something, probably pertaining to the deal.
After a few long minutes, his radio crackles, “Watcher to 0-6, we’ve consulted Dr. Novikov.”
The head Spiritulogist of the SAS regiment. If there’s any non-revenant he could trust on such matters, it’s him, “what did he say?”
“No PID. Nolan has not been documented to have markings like the ones you’ve described, and they’re impossible to acquire after Reaping.”
“...So we don’t know who this man is?”
“Negative.”
Price shuts his comms for a moment to curse. He radios back in, “Watcher, requesting permission to move closer to target.”
“Explain your reasoning, 0-6”
“I want to use my powers on him. Check his thoughts, might give us an ID.”
The Watcher’s voice becomes muffled as they talk to another person in the room, “granted. Make sure to not be seen, Price.”
“Copy.” he answers, adding under his breath, “not a bloody rookie, am I…”
He leaves the sniper on the hill he previously perched on, preferring to go as light as possible. The target and the seller have moved since the conversation with Watcher, opening a shipment container and examining its contents. With their backs towards him, Price weaves between containers, climbing up a few to get a better view of the guards.
His range on complete strangers is shite as ever, a disadvantage he can’t train out of him. John stays low, sticking to the sharp shadows cast by the steel boxes, creeping closer and closer to the target.
The target is still focused on the illegal missiles, and he needs to step just a few more meters to get into range-
The man sharply turns, his eye locking with Price’s. A chill goes down his spine, and he freezes in place. He couldn’t have noticed him.
Price’s muscles don’t dare move, thoughts both reeling and dead still, as the man raises a hand, and slowly, slowly peels his left eyelid up.
The red line on his cheek continues up into the eye whites, going all the way into his disturbingly crimson pupil.
The seller stares at the target, expression confused when he is ignored. The target steps forward, and John has to force his legs to stay put and not run, because every single cell in his body screams of danger.
“Danger. Blood. Enemy.”
The target enters his range, and smiles. But why would he smile? He has no reason to, because he doesn’t know that Price is a Revenant of the Mind, doesn’t know the limits of his powers.
He doesn’t. He can’t.
And yet when their thoughts link, the first words he can farce are…
“Johnathan Price… just on time.”
John’s thoughts escape his mind before he can get a semblance of control on them, questions like “you shouldn’t know my name, how do you know my name?!” and “who are you, what Reaper fucking reaped you?”
To that, the target smiles with perfect, unnaturally white teeth, “you should know by now, people like me and you operate in realms considered impossible by most, Lieutenant.”
Price grinds his teeth, forcibly pulling his mind back, taking control of his powers, of what the target sees, “you’re not Andrei Nolan, are you?”
The Target chuckles, “you’re far more pathetic than I expected.” the image in his mind is not of Price, but of the entire SAS. “No, I’m not Nolan. I’ll let you know my true name, because rest assured, Johnathan, we will meet again.”
Price scoffs incredulously. There’s no doubt in the revenant’s mind, despite stating something he couldn’t possibly know.
“You do not believe me.”
“I’ve read enough minds to know an overconfident one by now, mate.” Price glares.
The revenant’s grin widens, peculiarly pleased. “It appears that I need to provide evidence for my claims. Very well.” he sweeps two fingers on the red marking on his face, a sort of thread materializing between them. Price’s breathing picks up, something in the revenant’s mind poking at his, a red haze enveloping his thoughts.
He takes half a step back, eyes wide and staring at the thread hanging from the revenant’s fingers.
“I can promise you, Lieutenant, you will not stay in disbelief for much longer.”
The thread shoots forward in a sudden rush, Price stumbling back, but no man or revenant could escape those unnatural strings.
The moment it wraps around his throat, images begin flashing in his mind.
A burning city, smell of flesh overwhelming his senses.
Emptiness. Living statues, covered in darkness.
Endless skies, clouds and stars, moon and sun, falling and falling and falling.
Piles of broken bodies, some familiar and others not, all far too young to be dead.
A photo passed towards him, of the very revenant that is invading his mind. The smell of alcohol burns at his nose.
Realms beyond his own, a fabric weaved with crimson strings. Hands, knitting it together. Three eyes, identical to the revenant’s.
Words.
“Fate”
“Unescapable. Indestructible. Unchangeable.”
“Nothing but a puppet on red strings.”
A cruel smile, human teeth grafted onto the blood-red skin of a Reaper. Suffocating satisfaction, unfathomable knowledge, power great enough to bend Reaper will.
“Under orders of Fate, you will not kill that revenant.”
“The Revenant of Fate.”
“Vladimir Makarov.”
The string snaps.
Price finds himself on all fours, shaking. The screaming around him doesn’t die down, and it takes him minutes to realize it comes from his mouth. Little red tears drip between his hands, his eyes crying blood.
The revenant - Makarov - laughs. In his thoughts, the sound bouncing in his cranium, unescapable.
“When I tell you we will meet again, Johnathan, I do not lie.” Makarov says, condescending. “But for now, our business is done.”
He feels Makarov leave his range, not before he says, “you should consider yourself lucky, Lieutenant Price. Not many receive this gift, to see their own fate. Until next time.”
John doesn’t dare lift his gaze for what feels like hours, the shaking in his limbs taking long minutes to subside. Eventually, the dread in his gut lowers enough for him to look up.
The seller’s body lays dead in front of him, shipping containers still full to the brim with missiles. Makarov didn’t come for them.
His only goal was Price.
“This is Bravo 0-6 to Watcher, how copy?”
“...Price?! We’ve been trying to contact you for hours, where have you-”
“Target was not Nolan. He wasn't after the missiles, either.”
“Lieutenant-”
“What do we know about the Reaper of Fate?”

Note
So, ive recently gotten back into Protocreed and a what if..? idea i had was:
After Abstergo recovers Desmonds body, they experiment with his DNA and Blacklight. Resulting in him being revived after an outbreak and breaking free.
It could even be the assassins fault that the outbreak happened!
.
In the midst of the chaos, no one noticed the body dissapearing. It's only after the outbreak was contained and culled that Subject 17 was noted as missing. With all the footage being destroyed it is impossible to tell what happened to it, but the general consensis is that one of the infected ate it. It is a crushing blow to their research, but thankfully they have plenty of samples stored in a different facility, so all hope is not lost. No one thought of the possibilty that a repeat of Alex Mercer's revival could happen. Subject 17 has been dead for months, the body is simply too old. So no one thought too look in the shadows of the city, where something lay lurking. Tracking. Hunting.
Hungering
So I have a ProtoCreed idea similar to this that I posted here.
The comments/replies have more details on how it would go but, in a nutshell, Blacklight is a failed/abandoned Isu project headed by Tinia (so we can have a little hehe moment with Alex being called ‘Zeus’) and Dr Mercer is not a Templar but he’s still a piece of work.
And Desmond’s Isu to human genes ratio + his Bleeding Effect screwed up the virus that he still has the superhuman feats that Alex has but he can’t morph his body to have weapons or anything like that.
Instead…
It’s like he can spawn three specific humanoid figures made of the black and red writhing flesh which only has one specific goal: keep Desmond safe.
There’s more details in the link above but the main point is that Desmond’s virus makes him be able to ‘summon’ his ancestors who holds a piece of Alex’s OG abilities and it’s unclear if they are mindless or if their connection with Desmond keeps them docile because when Abstergo try to cut their connection (which are tendrils of red and black connecting the creatures to Desmond’s shadow), the creature goes berserk and attacks and devours everything around until Desmond reconnects with it.
So we have:
Altaïr = Blade
Ezio = Hammerfist
Ratonhnhaké:ton = Whipfist
Ezio gets Hammerfist because the sword of Altaïr is iconic so Altaïr gets the Blade and Ratonhnhaké:ton had the ropedart so he gets the Whipfist. XD
Although, in my original idea, Desmond keeps his memories (thanks to the Bleeding Effect) but if you want to go down the route of Desmond being ‘incubated’ by the virus during the story of Prototype and waking up afterwards, we can easily do that and the incubation period is actually what corrupted Desmond’s mind.
So in this situation, Desmond would be more like ‘Eve’ from Parasite Eve, the new origin of an outbreak (and everyone believes it’s Alex’s fault which will lead us to a modified setup for Prototype 2 and Alex and Desmond having an antagonistic start).
But the outbreak is strange because it seemed… targeted.
The ones to be hit first were Abstergo facilities or facilities under Abstergo’s shell companies.
And the spread only began when these facilities had fallen and the barricades have been breached, like… it wasn’t truly intentional but more of a ‘side effect’.
So now we have Alex trying to figure out what this new outbreak is because the ‘children’ for this one are faster and more cunning, using their surrounding to hide and wait. And these children seemed to be taking orders from three creatures made of darkness and blood.
(Or, if you want to preserve the Assassin white and red color scheme, it’s gonna be grosser with them being filled with pus and blood instead. The pus could be a sign that the virus is being combated by Desmond’s Isu genes though and that could be a clue for Alex)
And any time Alex tries to eat any of them, he only gains snippets of the memories of the same person: a man named Desmond Miles.
The three commander creatures also seemed to travel via shadows, being able to melt into the shadows before Alex could ever destroy them completely.
Later, he would realize that the whole city (whichever city we’re planning to set this on) are filled with what looked like lines all over (maybe one would say that maybe it’s the ley lines or something and Alex would say that it looks more like… veins…) and these veins are actually how the commanders travel all over the city.
At the center of the veins is a cocoon…

Could you talk about one of those Doctor Who aus?
Hello! Thank you anon for the ask :) I have a few AUs that I'm currently rotating in my head but my favourite at the moment is the one I just call The Modern AU - it's official name is The Doctor Project but that's not what I call it. This took me a hot minute to write up because it is a lot.
(Also if you wanted to hear about any of my other AUs, I put some brief descriptions in the tags :D)
The basic premise is that the Doctors are all human and a team that worked together for their variety of expertise during the early 2000s to repel an alien invasion and the effect it has on each of them and their general lives. Also the Tardis is there as the only sensible one of the lot.
Some doctors do have more story fleshed out than others, mostly due to the fact that I'm still quite new to a lot of the eu stuff like Big Finish and the books and certain Doctors I would feel better about having engaged with some more of it before getting some proper stories fledged out (mostly because I hope it will give me some more inspiration lol)
I'll put some more general outline below the cut for anyone interested :)
[Warnings: mentions of abuse, discussions of war and the aftermath, complicated relationships to disability, implied torture ]
First Doctor
So the First Doctor is the oldest of the bunch, a retired surgeon and medical doctor (he used to work at Royal Hope Hospital) who was brought into the Doctor project for his research into medicine.
He spent most of the War in London due to his old age making it difficult to run around cities infested with alien invaders but he does get sent out periodically (mostly when one of the others gets too injured to be moved from their current location which happens a few times).
He had a daughter, Gillian, when he was quite young but he and his wife split up, and his daughter spent most of her time with her mother instead. However, he was the one to gain custody of his daughter's daughter (Susan) when Gillian died as his ex-wife had also died.
When the Doctor was conscripted, Susan was about 15 and stayed with their neighbour Steven over the course of the war, and Vicki and Dodo, two girls he fostered as well while their parents were off fighting.
Due to the secure nature of the work that the Doctor Project was doing, she and her grandfather only exchanged a few letters over the course of each year, and they were always heavily edited, and she found herself finding a lot of the emotional support she was lacking from her two teachers at Cole Hill, Barbara and Ian.
When she left Cole Hill Sixth Form, a year before the war ended, she moved back into her grandfather's house but kept in contact with Barbara and Ian who helped her with finding a job and advice on living alone, etc. This would break GDPR and a host of other protection laws these days but it's the middle of an alien invasion, let's pretend that doesn't exist. They didn't know the Doctor at all until after the war when he returns and it's a bit weird for everyone.
Especially since Ian is completely furious at him for leaving his granddaughter alone, mostly because people meet Susan and get the immediate urge to protect her; they do mostly get over that particular hurdle though as more comes out about how the war ended, although the Doctor doesn't help matters much by being his usual grouchy self.
His usual grouchy self made worse by the fact that everything has changed a lot since he had left home. Susan is in training to be a nurse and has these faux-parental figures she trusts so implicitly, and is decidedly more wary around him; he has also been fundamentally changed by living four years in various bunkers while working against an invisible clock to defeat a foe more technologically advanced that they are.
Eventually things do settle down: Ian and the Doctor apologise to each other, Susan and the Doctor have enough heart-to-hearts that it clears the air between them, that sort of thing.
There's not a whole lot of plot to any of the First Doctor's stuff but the vibes and the setting are pretty much in place.
Second Doctor
The second doctor is probably about forty when he's conscripted and he was a physics lecturer at St. Andrews university, specialising in sound and acoustics and waves, that sort of thing. He invented several new versions of sound systems which is what got him noticed for the Project.
St. Andrews is where he meets Jamie, actually, who was working as a guard; they bonded over a mutual love of music, Jamie in particular on the bagpipes, and then over other mutual interests.
I'm imagining they got married before the war (as this is an alternate history anyway, I'm making gay marriage legal earlier because no-one can stop me) when Jamie went on to fight in the army and the Doctor got conscripted into the project. Both of them being in different deployments so regularly meant letter writing was even more difficult.
After the war, the Doctor gives up the whole lecturing thing, as the project had left him with a bad taste in his mouth over the work he had been doing. Instead, he takes his knowledge of music and goes into conducting an orchestra, as well as giving music lessons on the side.
In like...any instrument; he's not even very good at playing a lot of them but he has the technical know-how to make someone else very good at playing them, if they can get past his eccentricities.
Zoe is the first violin in the orchestra who he gives personal tutoring too in a vague attempt to get her to put some feeling into her music. She's technically very brilliant and knows her way around most string instruments with almost military precision, but she was taught in a very wooden way and the Doctor is attempting to bring that out of her.
Victoria, on the other hand, takes piano lessons from him except she's around like four times a week and barely ever actually plays the piano and they always give her supper because her home life is...not the greatest. Her father's very absent and her mother's dead. It's all a bit iffy.
Eventually, Jamie probably calls Social Services who are overstretched in the aftermath of the war as it is, but she manages to find herself to a very nice foster family (the Harris') who make sure she keeps having her piano lessons. Although they continue not to really be piano lessons.
[I feel that I should put a note on Ben and Polly here; they are sort of known to both One and Two as Polly is Barbara's niece (and quite close to her aunt) and Ben is Two's half brother (but not that close all things considered) - they are the sort of people who come around for birthdays and Christmas and the one off weekend, and give you very thoughtful advice and presents, but that's sort of the limit of your relationship with them.]
Third Doctor
The Third Doctor studied chemistry at university, trying out multiple different branches, and had managed to get noticed for a variety of things such as creating a few new medications, discovering the compounds of some rarer chemicals, that sort of thing (I will admit, I don't know what makes a chemist famous).
Sarah Jane is his younger sister by about twenty years: when she was younger, she had a bit of a hero worship of him going on but nowadays she's much more sensible.
He worked at Cambridge with Liz before the war, and a lot of the breakthroughs they made together; they (and by they I mean the Doctor has while Liz is facepalming in the background) have a bitter rivalry with the Oxford researcher Emil Masters (the Delgado Master).
They are married but they keep that out of their professional rivalries.
After the war, however, the Doctor stays with UNIT. He's the only one of the doctors to do this and it's mostly because he doesn't trust that unit won't make terrible decisions with the research the Doctor Project produced, so he stays as a Scientific Advisor and pokes his nose into everyone's business to keep his conscience clean.
Jo is his assistant as per canon, only now she is being invited around for supper four times a week at his house and is probably inheriting everything that both the Master and the Doctor own when they eventually die.
They turn up to her wedding to Cliff when her parents don't.
Once again, this is incredibly vibes based rather than very much plot; there's probably going to be something to do with Jo falling out with her family, but that's about as far as I got with it. It's mostly fluff at this point lol.
[Also a note about the incarnations of the Master: while the doctors aren't actually related, the incarnations of the Master are because I find that entertaining, and also there are less of them]
Fourth Doctor
The Fourth Doctor is an environmental activist before the war! He got a PhD in ecology and then proceeded to throw away a promising career in academia (his parents' words) to gallivant around the planet doomsday prophesying.
What he's actually doing is blackmailing people into implementing climate saving machines, etc. so that he isn't Doomsday prophesying; he actually meets Sarah doing this because they both get thrown in prison for getting nosy around a nuclear power plant and thus is the start of a beautiful friendship/relationship, it's really unclear to everyone else.
He has two sisters; Winifred (although everyone calls her Fred) who is Romana I, and Romana who is Romana II. Romana turns 18 just before the war and Fred turns 25 around the same time, while the Doctor is 30ish.
Romana immediately joins MI6 (she had always wanted to be in the secret service) and the Doctor gets roped into the Doctor project, which means that when Fred dies during the war, neither of them get informed for months due to the lack of proper communication channels.
This is something they both feel very guilty about, especially considering the fact that they have two nephews who got immediately lost in the overworked system without any other relative around who could look after them.
Anyway, also during the war, the Doctor gets captured by the aliens, and held for a good few months; he barely ever acknowledges that this ever happened to anyone, even when he is literally hospitalised after rescue. He just...pretends that everything is fine and dandy actually.
His doctor is actually Harry who then gets roped into the whole Very Secret Doctor Project thing for like a month until the Doctor was determined to no longer need constant observation etc and then he's just sent back to his ship.
However, Harry has better communication with home than the Doctor, and also shore leave, so he's sent to basically tell Sarah Jane that the Doctor is alive and alright - they immediately hit it off and so after the war, Harry and she hang out a lot until he's also living in the house with her, the Doctor and their gaggle of foster children (their are a lot of orphans after the war and so the three of them foster).
The actual content of their relationship is debateable - they could be a throuple, it could be that two of them are a couple and the other is third wheeling like a boss, it could be that none of them are romantically involved at all - but they do care for each other a lot.
Also the children are Luke and Sky from SJA and Leela, who's probably about 16. They have a dog, too, called K9 because the Doctor has called every dog he has ever owned since he wasa child K9, and just added a MK on the end; currently they're on Mk IV.
After the war, they just sort of settle back into what they were doing before; Sarah Jane writes for her newspapers and magazines, Harry takes up a civilian doctor's position again at New Hope and the Doctor returns to blackmailing people into Doing Better, only none of them are all that alright after the war and hiding it affects how well they are with other people.
There are some arguments had, mostly with the Doctor and Sarah Jane as Harry is much more mild mannered - with each other, with various siblings, with annoying work colleagues - until they at least admit that something is wrong, and then they go from there.
Fifth Doctor
The Fifth Doctor is the computer guy. He studied computer science at university and as well as developing quite a lot of high level software, he also developed cheaper hardware storage stuff.
With a lack of people I wanted to make him related to, I made him a Cranleigh - I think this was so he could go to boarding school and hate literally everything about it apart from cricket. His notes say that he cuts most communication with his family after going to university so they're not that important to the story.
During the war, he gets caught under a collapsing building at one point which causes nerve damage to his spine which affects the communication between his legs and his brain, periodically causing the connection to short out and his legs to collapse; the collapsed building also means that he can get quite a lot of pain in his legs, and should really be using crutches (only he forgets to bring them with him a lot).
Before the war, he works for some sort of big tech company who fund a lot of his research but after the war he doesn't particularly want to do research any more - nor work for a big tech company - and goes on to lead the IT department at Royal Hope. Which consists of Turlough (who is there because he needs a job after school and he heard that IT jobs were really easy actually) and possibly a few other characters (I've heard of some that exist in audio format, so when I get there, I may edit this).
He also fosters two kids in the aftermath of the war: Adric, who's mother was Fred and who's older brother died in the time that they were lost in the foster system, and Nyssa, who's father Tremas Masters (the Ainley Master) got imprisoned for murdering both of his wives and very sweetly asked his old university roommate if he might very kindly look after her for him.
Tegan is Nyssa's girlfriend and is subsequently always around at their house, to the point that the Doctor just gave her a key and makes supper expecting that she'll be there.
As for Peri, she and the Doctor meet at the local garden centre, and now she comes around to help look after his garden because her apartment is too small for a proper one (she and Six keep saying that they're saving up for an actual house but that might be a commitment too far).
There are the inklings of an actual plot idea I had here? In my head, somehow the Master escapes prison and intends on escaping the country with his daughter, only the Doctor is like no??? You can't do that to Nyssa??? And someone gets hospitalised.
[A note about Royal Hope, and also Cole Hill, and other reoccurring places: occasionally, the characters coincidentally working at these places is an actual coincidence, but the rest of the time it's because the Tardis has a lot of sway with people and she is always pushing the doctors and their friends to work in similar places so that they actually talk to each other again.
Or something like that. Honestly it's just plot contrivance because I like putting them in the same working environment, it makes it easier for me]
Sixth Doctor
The Sixth Doctor studies law and philosophy, being a lawyer both before and after the war. He's a really good one too, just really obnoxious.
I don't have a lot for the Sixth Doctor yet because I know he has a few audios that I want to listen to for some ideas, but I am very fond of the two seasons we got of him so here's what I have:
Peri meets the Doctor because he represents her in court when she's fighting her stepfather over something; after the court case (which they win) they go out for a few dates, and even though he's obnoxious and incredibly big-headed, he's also weirdly sweet and gentlemanly and so they get together officially.
Then the war starts and the idle talk they had of getting married/getting a house gets pushed aside while the Doctor joins the project and Peri helps with farm work by using her botany to develop crop something or other.
The war really did affect the Doctor. When he was younger, he suffered from Bipolar Depression but got it under control with medication and therapy, but the war and it's aftermath dragged that out of the depths which definitely put an extra strain on his and Peri's relationship.
When it's really bad, he did try to strangle her (like in the show) which did cause her to leave; but she does come back eventually, after the Doctor calls to apologise, and he does get it back under control.
At some points, it's really not the healthiest relationship, but it doesn't stay like that forever; it's something I really want to get into with my writing and I have the outlines of a fic over the period that he and Peri spend sort of separated.
On a lighter note, some of the other characters of the era! The Master keeps appearing on his doorstep after escaping prison looking for help and the Doctor keeps refusing to give it because he did try to kill Five; he once is a prosecutor against the Rani for unethical experimentation and she straight up sends a hit out against him; the Valeyard is his coworker who hates the Doctor a lot more than the Doctor hates him; and Mel is straight up just his personal trainer at the gym who got WAY too invested in his life.
Seventh Doctor
The seventh doctor is a high level tactician for the MOD before the war, and is actually one of the ones to help collect the other doctors together. He actually continues to do his MOD job while doing the Doctor Project which means he's the only doctor to really have a good understanding of what's happening around the world in real time.
However, he doesn't really have anyone to write home about. He grew up in foster care and it took a lot of effort to get to where he was at the outbreak of war, and so he didn't exactly have that many friends about.
The exception to that is Mel who he grew up with in part and so he does send her the odd letter.
After the war, he gets made redundant by the MOD and goes on to become a PE teacher at Cole Hill; he always dresses like he might be lecturing on politics or history, and stands on the sidelines while watching the students. Or he actually lectures on history or politics; honestly the amount of PE that's done is reliant on the mood.
He also ends up living with Ace; officially, she's his foster daughter, but she's so fiercely independent that she insists that they're roommates and he was willing to accept that.
I wish I did have more for him but I'm hoping that as I get through the Audios and books and such like, I'll get a better understanding of his era and the characters around it to make something a bit more developed.
Eighth Doctor
I'm only eight or so audios into this doctor's travels with Charley, and I have yet to read the Eighth Doctor Adventures (although I am looking to) so this isn't at all a complete section.
The Doctor is an expert in psychiatry and neuroscience, specifically in memory, mostly due to his own issues with memory throughout his childhood.
I'm still debating what the actual cause of the memory issues are, but I'm thinking that it might be because he had epilepsy as a child that was believed to have gone as he grew into adolescence but returned due to one (or multiple) head injuries during the war. I know there are certain types of epilepsy that can really affect the memory.
Either way, the Doctor also seems to be a bit of a romantic and very easily swept up in someone else's life; I see him, before the war, having a disastrous marriage to Grace Holloway which breaks down over four years of not seeing each other and ends in divorce as Grace returns to the states.
After the war, I think that he rents out the rooms in his house which is how he meets Charley, but that's about as far as I can really go with other relationships in his life because I haven't seen anything else of his stuff.
Ninth Doctor
The Ninth Doctor is an expert in mechanical engineering and is the one who does the main body of creating the Moment (the thing that takes out the alien invader's mothership).
He is the son of the War Doctor who's the General who Seven went to with his idea of creating a project to end the war, and the one who officially leads them. He mostly raised the Doctor single-handedly but was not exactly the most caring man in the universe.
The Doctor has a lot of very complicated feelings about his father which don't really get resolved because he (the War Doctor) sacrifices himself to set off the Moment.
Anyway, the Doctor never really wanted to get into Academics and become some sort of fantastic mechanical engineer but his father really pushed it (especially when it became clear the Doctor would never join the army); so after the war, he becomes a sort of freelance mechanic and works with Mickey.
Which is where he meets Rose. Rose often comes to visit Mickey at the end of his shifts because they're friends and live close together, and so she and the Doctor meet regularly there until they are both like...want to go travelling?
Rose was 19 when the war started, and runs the Bad Wolf magazine which she basically created at the beginning as a sort fo morale booster and also because she didn't like how the newspapers were reporting and wanted to make something that wasn't filtered through a hundred government filters; Sarah Jane actually writes for it during the war and on occasion afterwards, and is quite a good friend of Rose's for all that they don't see each other face-to-face all that often.
Still, after the war, sales of Bad Wolf kinda drops off a bit but Rose really loves the magazine and so wants to try something different: she wants to travel so she can see the world, and show people how people are rebuilding and getting their lives back in the aftermath (and help out where she can). She tells the Doctor this and then he offers her his van, and they start travelling together.
They live out the back of his van for years and they're quite happy to do it; they get married in Paris, periodically come back to visit Jackie (who is naturally rather displeased about this life choice they've made - although it's fine because they paid for her to come to Paris for the wedding), and just generally having a good time. They're like van lifers except not obnoxious about it, and when they eventually have Mia, they move back to the UK somewhat permanently (they still travel on holidays) so that she is living somewhere steady and permanent in her upbringing.
We also can't forget about Jack - he was a pilot during the war who also wrote for Bad Wolf, usually entertaining and slightly flirty pieces, and after the war, Rose and the Doctor invited him to travel with them after a few years. When they settle down in London, he moves to Cardiff for a bit on a 'journey of self discovery' where he meets the various Torchwood team (I have to admit I haven't got around to watching Torchwood yet).
He is Mia's godfather (so is Mickey, and Shareen is her godmother) and he dotes on her like no-one's business.
Tenth Doctor
The Tenth Doctor is an expert in anthropology and archaeology. He's Donna's little brother although there isn't much of an age difference between the two of them.
Of all the doctors, he's probably the one I've had the hardest time with.
I know he has a wife who died during the war (I'm thinking that this might be Astrid, for lack of someone better), and that Donna's boyfriend Lee died during the war as well - a lot of people did, during bombings and attacks and that sort of thing - and that with his wife he had a daughter (Jenny) (although I'm also playing around with the idea that he also had a younger daughter, that being Sally - as in Sally from Blink).
In the aftermath of the war, then, he and Donna move in together to help each other out, and eventually their mother and grandfather join them as old age arrives.
Donna meets Shawn in the aftermath and they get on well, and have a very healthy relationship and marriage. On the other hand, we have the Doctor who has the worst situationship ever with Martha.
In the aftermath of his wife's death, he meets Martha who got her medical licence during the war and has been working at Royal Hope since then, and I know that they probably hook up a few times in what is absolutely not recommended.
This is where I get a bit stuck on how things develop from here. I've been getting fonder and fonder of Tenmartha as I think on it more (although Martha does not deserve him) but I do quite like the idea of the two of them coming out of trying to force a relationship and being like...oh we're much better and healthier as friends.
Also, although that epilogue for them came out of nowhere, I do think that Mickey and Martha have a lot of potential as a couple.
There's a lot more I would like to develop here but I shall see what happens as I start writing some more of this.
Eleventh Doctor
The Eleventh Doctor was chosen for his mathematical skill. He's also the youngest of all of them, having just finished his PhD at age 20 as the war broke out.
He's the adopted son of Brian, so Rory's younger brother by a few years, and used to follow him and Amy around like a duckling that had imprinted on the closest moving thing. He did end up going to university quite young (honestly like most of the rest of the doctors) and it's there that he met Strax, Vastra and Jenny who took him under their wing as they were older students.
The war happens before he can really start a job and after the war, he struggles for a bit to find his place, but eventually ends up working with his old university friends in the Paternoster Detective Agency.
Amy and Rory get married after the war - Rory is a nurse at Royal Hope, which he was training for before the war, and Amy is a painter. She always intended on being a model or something like a fashion reporter, but during the war she found painting brought her (and others) the joy that could sometimes be very lacking in such a desperate time.
Her favourite artist is Vincent van Gogh.
They have Melody, although her birth is rife with complications, and so they decide to settle very happily with just the one daughter. She is doted on so completely by everyone, especially her uncle; there's a period when she's like four or five when she is convinced that the Doctor is a secret agent of some sort and gets really into all the spy sort of things.
She makes him play dress up with her and she calls herself River Song because it sounds cool and secret-agenty and the Doctor is her quirky sidekick.
[I debated with putting River Song in as a separate character but I wasn't quite sure what I would do with her? There's potential there for an AU of sorts where she is there, but I unfortunately never quite vibed fully enough with River for her to be a major player in the Main AU]
He lives with the Ponds for a bit after the war, and then moves in with Craig, but when Craig moves out with Sophie, he mopes about it and moves back in with the Ponds.
It's around this time that he meets Clara; she's an English teacher at Cole Hill and her mother went missing nearly five years ago. After trying to get the police to do anything at all, and then saving up the money, she hires the Paternoster gang to find out what happened.
What actually happened is still a bit of a mystery, but she definitely isn't still alive, which the Doctor is the one to tell her the news.
I don't think I'm going to do anything romantic with them but I do think they're quite cute together, so I might dabble. But also I quite like the Doctor being aro and I can see him just living with the Ponds and never leaving.
Twelfth Doctor
The Twelfth Doctor is an astrophysicist. He's spent a lot of his life developing telescopes and astral bodies, but after the war, he mostly just lectures. He's such a longstanding part of St Luke's university that they probably couldn't fire him for anything short of murder.
He's married to Missy quite young, actually, although they never had children; she has spent like half of their marriage in prison though, and now spends most of her time hanging around the Doctor's office being annoying to all his students.
During the war, he did get blinded. It's something he has a complicated relationship with, and does not like it when people mention it around him. He uses a cane when he moves around and wears sunglasses because it hides that his eyes aren't necessarily looking at the person he's talking to.
Again, he has a complicated relationship with it.
Nardole is his teaching assistant, only he's massively overbearing about every aspect of the Doctor's life (only he just manages to be endearing enough that the Doctor doesn't just fire him on the spot).
Bill is, like in canon, someone the Doctor tutors, only now instead of getting to see the galaxy, she has he, Missy and Nardole giving her wildly different yet equally terrible dating advice, which somehow works to get her with Heather.
As for Clara, I genuinely don't know what to do with her; she's such a big part of the Twelfth Doctor's story that I do really want to have her be an important character, but I don't know how. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them!
Thirteenth Doctor
The Thirteenth Doctor is an expert in microbiology. She's a government researcher into disease for the few years before the war, but after the war, she becomes an A&E nurse. She found that she preferred chaos and wanted something that was less science based but still within her interests.
She's fostered by Graham as a child, which is how she knows him, and subsequently how she comes to know Ryan and Grace, when Graham meets them. Her mother was Tecteun who she was taken away from when she was twelve due to the fact that Tecteun was a piece of shit (as in canon).
She wrote a lot to all of them during the war; out of all the Doctors, she probably spent the most writing letters (apart from maybe Six who wrote to Peri...so much, he spent so much time agonising over writing letters to her).
She knew Yaz from school and they both moved to London after the war - they met up again when they both returned from the war, and they decided that a change of scenery from the place they grew up might do them good.
London was one of the main targets during the war so there was a lot of practical work and training to do in both the police force and in nursing (which is what the Doctor wants to go into); they stay in shared accomodation and volunteer to help with the rebuilding effort in some of their free time.
When the rebuilding is mostly finished and everything has started to even out again, they stay in London; the Doctor has a job at Royal Hope and Yaz has found her footing in the local police force. They visit Sheffield a lot though, and invite Ryan to stay with them a lot, so he can get away from all the Old People.
Fourteenth Doctor
The Fourteenth Doctor technically doesn't exist. The Doylist reasoning for this is because there was far too little that separated the Fourteenth Doctor out to make him his own character in a modern AU; the Watsonian is because there was meant to be a Fourteenth member of the Doctor Project but he died in transit to the first meeting. Out of respect, the rest skip over the number that was meant to be his.
I've played around with the idea that the Fourteenth and the Tenth Doctor were siblings/related/possibly twins but I think this might be more of an AU sort of thing.
Fifteenth Doctor
Obviously we haven't had the Fifteenth Doctor's actual first season yet or much of anything for him (very excited for it though) so this is very much a work in progress - I'll make more decisions about his story after the season has come out and I've watched it; from vibes alone though, I think he'd be possibly an expert in sociology, and after the war he would own a club or something similar, where Ruby would get herself a job.
Notes and Stuff
Congratulations for getting this far lol! This AU is very precious to me and gets bigger every time I watch a new episode/listen to a new drama/rewatch/relisten/etc.
There are a few general things I'd probably note: all the Doctors have like...actual names (mostly John or a variation there of) but I refer to them all as the Doctor because that's what rolls off the tongue more easily.
Another thing is Idris/the Tardis - on one hand, the original idea was that she would die and her funeral would be the thing to get the Doctors back together so to say, but the more I think about it, the more I would like her to live.
I'm planning on writing some fic for this AU and posting it to AO3 - there's a Sixperi fic I really want to write, and I'm a sucker for some family fluff with various Doctors - and I might draw some stuff, so stick around if you're interested :)
I've only been really into Doctor who for four or five months, and with such an expansive EU (and frankly, such a lot of main content), there's a lot I don't know (although I very much intend to know it one day). If you got this far, I would honestly love to hear your general thoughts and ideas on the AU, a lot of the Eleventh Doctor stuff I worked out was developed from conversation I had with a friend!
Anyway, thank you for getting this far! And thank you for the ask to let me ramble, it took me a while to get all the rambling together but now I've finished, I'm really pleased I got here.

Missing
An Invader Zim grimdark fic.
WARNINGS: Missing cases of both children and adults, death of background characters i made up on the spot, gore, emetophobia, i'm basing Dib's area code somewhere in Montana (I know that's not a warning but i feel it's necessary info.), kinda short, BAD ENDING!!!!
Tumblr media
A strong wind blows through the area as storm clouds can be seen approaching in the distant sky. It's not too often they get storms, for the surrounding trees and mountains are usually more than enough to keep them safe. That doesn't matter now, though, for Professor Membrane has yet to figure out how to control the weather, maybe someday, but not today.
Dib flinches as he's hit in the face with a missing poster as Gaz looks on wordlessly, there seems to be a concerning influx of them lately. He struggles to get it off when the wind has it so firmly pressed against his features, he does eventually free himself from the clutches of the sheet. The image of a little girl and pigtails sends a surge of... a feeling hard to describe. not strong enough to be sorrow, but a sense of sympathy with undertones of paranoia and grief. He lets out a sigh.
No amount of looking at the sidewalk beneath him on his way to the bus stop will help these feelings. The feeling of a lingering guilt. He couldn't help but notice how unusually quiet Zim has been lately... he's been more... collected, as of late. Every time Dib has confronted him about it, he was either given some lousy excuse, an outright lie or a fake plan to throw him off. He stopped falling for it after the first three times or so. He almost jumps at the sound of his sister's almost monotonous voice, laced only by the venomous dislike she holds for everyone around.
"You're plotting against Zim, aren't you."
"You don't think it's weird that Zim hasn't come out with some evil plan or scheme?? And the amount of people going missing!"
"It's probably just a serial killer or something."
"That's no better!"
"Anything's better than your paranormal claptrap. Now quiet, your voice is giving me a headache."
He lets out a defeated sigh as he steps onto the bus to be driven to another slow, soul draining school day of nihilistic lectures from the almost snake-like teacher known as Ms. Bitters. It would be unbearable if he didn't have his notebook to sketch in during said rambles of imminent death... or a nemesis to watch over.
Dib isn't exactly surprised when everyone on the bus moves as to not sit near him, nor does he make any effort to move closer to anyone. Gaz, thankfully, is kind enough to sit next to him. her focus is more on her videogame than anything else, Dib wishes he could at least read without the threat of carsickness over his shoulder, so he has no choice but to stare outside at the passing buildings and occasional tree.
Throughout the day, Dib has done nothing but watch Zim's every move. Every blink, every shift of his mauve eyes, and every student he even glanced at. This wouldn't be completely necessary if the cameras he's hidden in Zim's house weren't broken, no matter which camera Dib switched to, all the screen would ever show was static. Of course though, Dib didn't rely on cameras alone, he's been following Zim nonstop for the past two weeks. To his dismay, there was nothing too out of the ordinary.
Tonight though.. is different. He's noticed a pattern in Zim's strange schedule. Every Thursday without fail, he goes out for a while and comes back dragging grocery bags full of snacks from the nearby convenience store, probably to keep Gir's screaming at bay. The insane little robot never fails to keep both of them guessing. So after weeks of stalking and the feeling of monomania clinging to the back of his mind, Dib is finally going to take advantage of this small window of weakness.
Under the blanket of night.. and a bush outside of Zim's house. he lies in wait for Zim to leave. it's almost 11:00 at this point, he's been waiting for almost an hour, but he eventually spots Zim poking his ugly mug outside to look around. He runs off off down the road and out of sight. Dib wastes no time running to the side of the house before picking the lock to one of the windows, he jumps onto the ledge and falls on the other side, cracking one of the lenses in his glasses. At least he's in.
Nothing seems to have changed at first glance, the interior looks exactly the same, the strange decor, the monkey picture above the couch staring forward with soulless eyes. He turns to leave.. but notices something out the corner of his eye... a bloodstain near the trash can, it looks like human blood. He freezes as a chill runs through him... rather than the rush of excitement he would usually get at being right, at having evidence, he feels... horrified. Yes Zim has hurt people before... but... if he really was responsible for all those missing people.. oh odds.
Dib cautiously creeps closer to the trash can to investigate, hesitantly opening it and flinching in anticipation of the sight of human flesh.. only to find nothing, a panel of buttons with Irken words on them on the inside, two of which having arrows, one pointing up, one pointing down. It doesn't take a genius to guess what it is. He looks around before stepping into it and pressing the down button. It starts to descent rather quickly through a cylindrical shaft, surrounding him is darkness, lots of darkness and a tangled mess of wires, tubes, and cords only illuminated by the lights on the almost claustrophobic elevator.
The further down he descends, the more his heart sinks in fear. He soon reaches his destination... wherever it is. The constant whirring and beeping of the surrounding machinery does nothing to calm his wild thoughts and active imagination. He wanders around, looking everywhere he can for something out of place... though he didn't have to wander for long. He comes across some kind of work room? research facility? It certainly looks the part. This raises so many questions... but he stops in his tracks when he comes face to face... with one of the missing persons. A girl presumably somewhere in her teens... lying on a table with an open ribcage and her organs placed around her. Dib lets out a small squeak of horror at the sight of the poor girl, unable to say anything.
Blood drips on the metal floor, the sickly scent of rot hitting his sinuses. The dissected victim laying lifeless in the early stages of rot. Looking around, he finds multiple others of the missing people, including the little girl with pigtails. All torn apart with methodical precision, some kept in massive containers of formaldehyde, others left out for observation. Dib feels a wave of nausea as his breathing speeds up, he backs away before the burning sensation of stomach acid stings his throat, he spills his stomach on the floor, coughing and gasping only to be met with the stench of death yet again.
He gathers whatever strength he can get get up and run... only to be met with the sight of Zim standing in the doorway behind him. Dib lets out a scared gasp and backs away from the small Irken.
"Zim?...."
Zim doesn't respond.. only staring at him.
"What have you... why... why would you do this... even for you this is..."
Dib can't think of how to describe it... it's out of character, even for Zim. Five metal limbs extend from his PAK, four lift him off the ground, one holds a syringe. Though Dib has seen the robotic legs a multitude of times.. for the first time, this act intimidates him, causing him to back away further. Without warning, Zim lunges at Dib. Everything goes black.
He lets out a gasp as he snaps awake, though Dib can't move his arms, can't move his legs, his shirt and trenchcoat are missing and there's a red dotted line running down from the bottom of his sternum, to the top of his pelvis. He struggles and thrashes in his restraints, though he stops at the voice of a familiar Irken.
"Are you trying to dislocate your human-paws?"
"Listen, i-i'm sorry, i won't say a word, let me go, Zim!"
Zim only laughs, it starts out quiet but evolves into his signature villainous fits of hysterics.
"This isn't about witnesses, Dib-worm.. it's about figuring out what makes the human body... tick."
At the last word of that sentence, Zim digs a bare claw into Dib's sternum, puncturing the skin and drawing blood. He lets out a yelp in response.
"What're you... on about??"
"You and I both know that I will take over eventually.. i figured in order to be a truly good ruler, i would have to know the inner mechanics of you DISGUSTING pigbeasts. While i did accomplish that, yes, i figured one last victim would do me good. Especially since this time it's more personal than before."
Dib is speechless, he feels nothing but horror and desperation as Zim approaches him with a scalpel.
"NO! ZIM PLEASE!"
He's cut off when the scalpel pierces his skin and glides down his stomach, letting out an agonized scream as it does so. Zim pulls apart the edges of the incision and gently delves his hands into the slimy, warm, writhing mass of organs in his interior. He takes a moment to feel the movement of each organ in his three fingered hand before setting each one aside. It's not long until Dib passes out from the pain.
He never wakes up, kept in suspended animation with his chest cavity still open for Zim to look at, a reminder of victory. Though it's not long before Dib's image ends up on a missing poster like the rest of Zim's victims.. and just like the rest of them, he was never found.

BRO LITTLE MONKEY MK IN THE CONSTELLATIONS!COVENANT AU HAS MY HEART 💗😩 WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE’D GROW GARDENS AND FLOWERS ON WUKONG AND MACAQUE? THAT’S SO CUTE?!? DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME WE WERE ROBBED OF THAT IN CANON!CONSTELLATIONS?!? DID WHATEVER FORCE MAKE MK “BE HUMAN” GET RID OF THAT TOO?!? COULD HE NOT EVEN GROW FLOWERS ON PIGSY WHEN HE WAS LITTLE?!? BRO THAT’S SO MESSED UP AND I DEMAND THIS POWER BE RETURNED TO HIM AT ONCE!!
*Ahem* Sorry for my loss of composure. He’s just too cute. I do have a few questions though if that’s alright: Specifically for the Covenant AU, was Shadowpeach happy about MK’s birth? What was Wukong’s reaction when he got back? (Also lol I can’t believe Wukong was attending a presentation in Heaven while MK was born like of all the times to be a nerd dude).
This one just applies to general Constellations: I recall a brief statement of Wukong’s that he worried that when he killed Macaque it caused their cycle to disrupt? And that’s why the fourth didn’t arrive/took so long, so did they have a way of knowing that they were supposed to be expecting someone else?
Ohhh, I've been waiting for that question about shadowpeach expecting other celestial primates. I'm surprised it hasn't been asked sooner!
Well, let's start with the Constellations Covenant AU first.
For this AU, MK is kept safe on Flower Fruit Mountain because Macaque is there to immediately go check out what that earthquake and the golden flowers were about. He basically sees a small monkey bawling covered in dirt and is like. "... Huh. This sure is similar to how we found Little Star." And goes and picks MK up.
Because MK is allowed to live on FFM, his memories of his birth are intact. Therefore, he knows he was born from soil, so his connection with the element of wood is allowed to flourish. This leads to him being able to cast wood spells through feeling alone. If he feels happy, he'll grow flowers that match his mood. Sunflowers, lilacs, daisies, whatever he wants.
Macaque and Wukong also display this deeper connection from their birth element. In the epilogue, Wukong is able to cast earth spells easily. And in Constellations, he remarks himself that casting earth spells is like child's play to him. Macaque has also said that he feels calm around bodies of water and is able to cast water spells quickly.
Since MK's in tune with the element of wood, he can just walk around and create gardens behind himself. He can sneeze and make a bouquet of flowers. When Wukong plays with MK and they play patty cake or peek-a-boo, MK gets so happy that he makes marigolds and chrysanthemums bloom in Wukong's hair. Wukong LOVES this.
Macaque gets lilacs and lavender. His voice is very soothing to MK, so MK finds it easier to fall asleep when he's near Macaque. He always crawls/tumbles toward Macaque when it's time for bed. Macaque also takes MK on errands sometimes, like checking in on residents on the mountain. MK will sleep through the majority of these visits LMAO
but MK also grows quite quickly since he's knowledgeable of his origins. He's not a baby monkey for long.
In constellations canon, MK could not grow flowers on Pigsy..he's not aware of his status of being a celestial primate, so his connection with wood isn't as strong as it could be. 😔
In covenant AU, Shadowpeach is VERY happy with MK's birth! They love him... Little Star has already been lost to them at this point, so they're happy to take care of him. This is also part of why Macaque is overprotective of MK.
Wukong, when he got back from viewing the magic presentation in Heaven, was very surprised to see Macaque with a baby monkey. He was like "Whose little one is this? No one was due today."
And Macaque has to go "This one was born from soil... He's like us."
And Wukong's tail starts wagging and he picks MK up and squeals like!! A new celestial primate, yippee!!
Wukong was attending that magic presentation because he's waiting for a certain kind of magic to be invented/discovered. Something that can help locate Little Star (this is also canon to Constellations in general).
Now, back to Canon!Constellations, when Wukong and Macaque were locked in their legendary battle that shook the heavens and lasted for days, Macaque was disguised as Wukong and no one could tell the difference between them. It was only due to divine intervention that they were able to figure it out, and that same divine intervention explained what Wukong and Macaque are to the Great Companions and Tripitaka. Basically like, "the reason why these two are so powerful and unlike any other creature is because they're celestial primates, of which there are four."
Little Star had already been born (and lost) at this point, so Wukong and Macaque were able to deduce that one primate was left. Also the fact that each of them are born from one of the elements led them to believe that there would be another.
So! When Wukong did a murder, and he went back to FFM after the journey, he worried that killing Macaque messed up something about that fourth primate being born. Since years went by and nothing happened, Wukong thought there wasn't going to be a 4th primate anymore.
That's why him being gone to Heaven is like. Believable. He had no clue MK was coming and had accepted such a thing probably wasn't going to happen.

My daily kudos digest always brightens my day (upside of having written so many fics even if I haven't posted or updated anything on AO3 only started a WIP on DW, shh in a year). However, kudos on shorter fics I'm personally very fond of, but which aren't my "major" fics in terms of popularity, are always particularly nice and today was like... a red-letter kudos day :D

Smile, Simone (OC X Canon Kiss Week 2024)
Tumblr media
Word count: 3,6k
Warning: manipulation, mention of death, Kilgrave being a creep
A/n: This is a collab with my partner in crime @jozstankovich for @theocxcanonweek day 5: Getting into trouble. The characters from this story are part of our little Timeline Anomaly Verse (more about them in here) and a crossover of Bad Samaritan and Jessica Jones. Hope you all enjoy it <3
[Masterlist]
Simone had a short walk from her university to the flat, only a few minutes, she stopped to buy herself a hot chocolate and a croissant for her father from his favorite bakery.
Little did she realize, across the street a tall, slender man in a chic purple suit watched her with interest, his dark eyes following her movements as a small grin played at his lips. As she stepped out of the bakery he approached.
“Hello there,” he drawled, tipping his head slightly in greeting. “I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you are,” he murmured, taking her hand to place a kiss to the back of it.
"Um... thanks," Simone chuckled until she saw him. That face, she knew that face from her nightmares. A man with that face once tormented her father and she knew he died, but in that world full of clones and odd powers, she never knew who was what. "I- bye."
“Wait—“ the man exclaimed, a frown creasing the spot between his brows. “Don’t go,” he demanded, assured that she would obey.
She couldn't move, she tried to keep walking, but her feet wouldn't obey. "Let me go, please, I have a boyfriend."
The man chuckled. “Not anymore, you don’t,” he drawled, holding out his arm for her to take. “Let me take you out—?” he asked, waiting for her to supply her name.
"Simone, Simone Falco," she said before she could stop herself. His allure did something to her brain and suddenly she took his arm, certain that her boyfriend Dylan, wasn't in her life anymore.
“Mmm Simone,” he repeated, savouring the taste of her name on his tongue. “Your name is just as beautiful as you,” he purred, brushing his lips against her temple, inhaling her scent.
“You can call me Kilgrave,” he said, slipping an arm around the small of her back as he began to lead her away from her intended destination. “I think we need to get you some new clothes and then some lunch. I know a wonderful place. You’ll love it,” he said with certainty.
"Y-yeah, I just... need to let my father know I won't come home now, he's expecting me. Can I call him?" She asked quietly, following him to God knows where to do something she didn't even wanna think about.
Kilgrave frowned as he deliberated. “I suppose that’s alright, darling,” he finally answered, pulling her phone out of her pocket. “But you’ll only say what I tell you to say,” he instructed.
"Yes," she dialed, trusting that her dad would know something was wrong and check her location, which was always on. "What should I say?"
“Tell him, you’re staying with a friend for a few days, that you’ll be at a mind/body retreat and you won’t have access to your phone,” Kilgrave said, walking at a leisurely pace, leading her to his waiting town car.
Simone nodded and dialed her dad's number, but the person who picked up was her mother.
"Hey, Moony. Daddy's in the shower, do you need anything?" Blossom asked.
"Yes, can I talk to him please?" She kept her voice calm, or tried.
"Okay... Sean! Simone is on the phone, she sounds dead weird!"
Sean frowned, quickly twisting the water off and grabbing his towel, wrapping it around his waist and taking the phone, bringing it to his ear. “Moony, it’s me. You okay, darlin’?” He asked, his hair dripping down his shoulders.
"Yeah, Daddy, I'm okay. I just called to let you know I won't be home in time," she put on a smile, trying very hard not to cry. "I'll be with a friend in a spiritual retreat and I won't be able to use my phone there for a few days. Just didn't want you to worry."
“What d’yeh mean? What friend?” Sean demanded, his unease growing. “Why don’t you come home and we can talk about this, you can give us more details,” he pleaded, not liking the way her voice trembled. “Where are you?” He asked, his chest growing tight.
"My friend... Ellery," Simone said the name of her cousin, this way he could easily call her and disprove this story. "Sorry, Daddy, I'm late, I really have to get going. I'm on my way there."
"Wait--! Simone!" Sean cried, but she'd already hung up. "Blossom! Something's wrong!" he called, trying to call Ellery, though his hands were shaking too much for him to dial the number.
"Oh my God... what number are you trying to call? Ellery?" Blossom took the phone to dial for him. "What happened to Simone?"
"Yeah," Sean said, handing her the phone, running his hand through his wet curls. "You were right, she didn't sound right," he said. "She said she was going on a spiritual retreat with Ellery and wouldn't be able to answer her phone. She sounded scared. I think she was taken," he said, his voice shaking as much as his hands.
"This is bollocks, she can't spend a day without her phone," Blossom called her niece. "Ellery! Ellery, are you with Simone right now?"
"No," the girl answered, giving her twin brother a confused look. "Charlie and I are buying Valentine's presents."
"Did she ever mention a spiritual retreat to you? Somewhere she couldn't take her phone to?"
"No... is everything alright? Just stay there, we're on our way."
*****
"Good girl," Kilgrave said, stroking Simone's hair before taking her phone from her hand and dropping it to the ground in the middle of the street before pulling her into the car with him and shutting the door, telling the driver where to take them.
"I- That's my phone!" She cried, she hated to be that helpless and now nobody would be able to track her. "All my father's voice-mails are there, I need them!"
"You don't need them," Kilgrave said offhandedly, annoyed at her outburst. "I'll make sure you have everything you need, love," he assured her, pulling her to his side, his hand running up and down her arm.
"What are you gonna do to me? You say buying clothes and having lunch. What are you really planning?" Simone asked, surprised that the driver seemed hypnotized as well.
"Darling, you're with me now," he said, chuckling lightly. "I just want to lavish you, make you mine," he explained, taking her chin in his hand to turn her face toward his to kiss her.
Simone tried to pull away, but she didn't know where to run, she was stuck in the car. "Have you ever considered... I don't know, asking someone out without forcing them? You're not bad looking, I'm sure many women would be happy to go out with you."
Kilgrave clicked his tongue with a shake of his head, as if the girl had just said something foolish. “But I don’t want just any woman. I want you. Are you saying that you would’ve said yes, if I’d have simply asked you?” He asked.
"Maybe... well not really. I had a boyfriend, and you look like the man who tried to kill my dad. But I'm sure a much more beautiful girl would've said yes," she mumbled.
“What do you mean, a more beautiful girl?” He drawled, frowning at her comment. “You are beautiful, Simone. More gorgeous than you realize. I want you to tell me that you’re beautiful,” he purred.
"I am beautiful," she repeated, unable to resist his order. It wasn't hard to understand he had the power of persuasion.
"Good girl," Kilgrave murmured, stroking her cheek. "Ah, we're here," he said, as the car pulled up to the curb in front of Bloomingdale's.
*****
Sean hastily dried off, pulling his clothes on distractedly. "Should we call the police?" he asked, hating how helpless he felt.
"We need to know where she is first and sending cops might spook whoever has her and they might hurt her," Blossom started dialing to call her sister-in-law, Alisha. "We're a superpowered family, we've all killed to protect each other."
He nodded, feeling numb. He was the only one without a power, there wasn’t anything he could do at the moment except trust his wife. —
"Alisha, we need a little help, can you find Simone for us?" Blossom asked while she opened the door for her niece and nephew.
"I... she's in a car, there's a man with her. Purple suit, looks posh," Alisha said, using her clairvoyance to see through her niece's eyes. "I don't know exactly where they are though."
“Okay, keep checking in and let us know if you recognize anything,” Sean said, leaning in over his wife’s shoulder.
"Okay, I'll call you if I see anything," Alisha confirmed.
"We have all possible powers to save her," Ellery pulled her brother inside. "Where are we going?"
"We don't know where she is yet," Sean answered, fighting the urge to pace. "Alisha said she's in a car right now."
"In a car with a man she doesn't know," Blossom started crying just as her husband's phone started ringing. Sean pulled her into his arms, his jaw flexing as he fought not to break down as well, knowing he needed to be strong for her. "Does she know where Simone is?" he asked, his voice tense.
"Hi, Aunt Lisha, any news?" Ellery quickly grabbed her uncle's phone.
"They just stopped at Bloomingdale's, I don't know which one exactly, but it looks like 5th Avenue, it's right in front of the Bank of America."
"Bloomingdale's 5th Avenue, c'mon, let's go!" Charlie exclaimed, already heading for the door.
"We need a cab," Ellery stepped outside and rushed down the stairs. The rest of them followed and they all ran to the intersection with the 8th Avenue to hail a cab. The drive would be ten minutes if they were lucky to avoid traffic, which in New York was basically impossible.
“Hopefully they’ll still be there,” Charlie murmured, his leg bouncing anxiously.
*****
"Why do I need new clothes?" Simone asked calmly, almost in a docile way. "These are pretty expensive..."
"Why not?" Kilgrave said, waiting for the driver to open his door. "Come," he instructed, holding out his hand for her as he waited on the curb.
"Do I need an excuse to spoil my girl?" he chuckled. "You deserve only the best," he explained.
"T-thank you," Simone took his hand and locked arms with him as they entered the store. She wasn't dressed exactly nicely and felt really out of place. She wore leggings and one of her dad's shirts since, at uni, they were doing nature shots.
“Ah, what about this? This colour would look beautiful on you,” Kilgrave said, picking out a sleek purple dress. “Go on, try it on, and I’ll pick out some shoes for you,” he said, stroking her cheek fondly.
"Okay," she took it and went into one of the dressing rooms. She wanted to cry, but feared that it would upset her new captor and he might do something worse. She put on the dress and opened the door to show him how it looked.
"Ohh, don't you look like a vision!" Kilgrave exclaimed, moving closer to get a better look. "Here, try these on, you'll look perfect," he said, handing her some strappy heels.
Simone nodded and quickly put the shoes on, which made her stand as tall as him. "I don't usually wear heels," she admitted.
"You should, they make your legs look so graceful," he said, picking out a luxurious long fur coat and draping it over her shoulders. "There, all set," he decided, taking her hand and leading her back out of the store.
"Hey! You can't leave without paying for those!" One of the shopkeepers exclaimed, hurrying after them.
"You're going to give them to us, free of charge," Kilgrave snapped, waving the woman away, leaving her bewildered. "Are you hungry?" he asked Simone, turning his attention back to her as they stepped back out onto the crowded sidewalk, his car waiting for them.
I'm wearing the skin of a dead animal on my back and I technically just stole all of this... Simone thought, panicked.
"Yeah, I haven't eaten today," she said, despite how nauseous she was from the whole semi-kidnapping experience. She anxiously looked around to see if she could find any familiar faces, but the entire world felt like a strange place at that moment.
"There she is!" Sean cried, spotting his daughter's face amidst the sea of people. Jumping out of the cab before it came to a complete stop, he ran toward her, trying to push his way through the crowd. "Simone!" he exclaimed, trying to get her attention.
"Daddy?" She cried, the knot in her chest tightening when she saw how worried he seemed. She wanted to run into his arms and never let go.
"Simone! Come here! What are you wearing?" Blossom followed her husband out. "You! Let go of my daughter right now! Get away from her!"
“Ah, looks like that’s our cue to leave,” Kilgrave muttered, turning Simone’s face away from her parents and stealing a sloppy kiss before sweeping her back into the back of his sleek black car. “Driver, take us to Neary’s,” he instructed, slamming the door shut and wiggling his fingers in a little wave just as Sean and Blossom reached the car.
Simone fought the urge to cry again, her head hanging low. She was so close to being able to run away... she knew she wasn't the first girl to fall into Kilgrave's trap, she wondered where the others were. Were they stuck in a harem or even worse?
"Did you see him? Cale Erendreich doppelganger... he kissed her! She didn't pull away, she didn't fight it," Blossom panted, she was not as fast as she used to be when she was younger.
“There has to be an explanation,” Sean exclaimed, his chest hurting. He’d seen the fear on his daughter’s face as the car pulled away.
“Uncle Sean! We know where he’s going!” Charlie exclaimed, running to catch up. “Aunt Lisha called. She knows where he’s taking her!”
"They're going to Neary's, five minutes away," Ellery hailed another cab for them. If it was just her and her brother they could run, but their uncle was pushing 60.
"Let's go, let's go!" Blossom rushed into the car.
*****
“What’s the matter, dearest?” Kilgrave asked, tilting his head to peer at Simone’s face. “Don’t tell me you’re upset?”
"I just... got startled," she said shaking her head, she looked up at him and tried to smile.
He smiled back, giving her hand a squeeze before pressing a kiss to the back of it. The drive to the restaurant wasn't long and once they parked, Kilgrave helped Simone out, leading her into the building.
"Do you have a reservation?" The hostess asked, looking between the two of them.
"Yes, we're renting out the whole place. Tell everyone else to leave," Kilgrave commanded and the hostess nodded.
"You can all leave!" He exclaimed, raising his voice to infect the other diners and they all got up, leaving their food half touched as they left. "There, shall we?" he asked, leading Simone over to his usual corner booth.
She sat down and glanced at the menu, the food smelled and sounded delicious, but how could she eat in that situation? She could always... accept it, she'd live her life like this and maybe it wouldn't be so bad? It wasn't what she wanted, but if he treated her the way she had been so far... maybe he wouldn't kill her. Maybe she could visit her family and smile while saying everything was fine.
"Can I order what I want or will you order for me?" She asked, genuinely curious. "Cause if I can choose I'd like the broiled chicken with potatoes."
"Of course, you can have whatever you like," Kilgrave exclaimed, leaning back in the booth, his arm resting behind Simone's shoulders.
By the time Sean, Blossom, Ellery, and Charlie arrived at the restaurant, the other diners were all filing out.
"That's strange, where are they all going?" Charlie wondered.
"Doesn't seem like anything is wrong in there," Ellery looked inside and found her cousin sitting in a corner.
"Simone!" Blossom called. "Simone, please! If you actually want to be here, tell us!"
"I want to be here," she said after Kilgrave whispered the command in her ear.
“If you try to escape, you’ll jump off the Queensboro Bridge,” Kilgrave hissed in Simone’s ear, taking a bite of his steak, seemingly unbothered.
“Look, he just said something to her before she spoke,” Charlie whispered, noticing the way the man leaned in. “If he has the power of persuasion, then maybe I can use it against him,” he suggested.
"Good one, Charlie," Ellery nudged her brother's arm.
"Let my daughter go, right now! I'm not above killing you, you bastard!" Blossom charged into the restaurant. "She's old enough to be your daughter!"
Kilgrave spread his hands innocently. "I'm afraid you're mistaken, she told you already, she wants to be here."
"Then why does she look so terrified?" Sean exclaimed, hating the way his hands shook as he looked at the man who looked so much like the ghost from his past.
"I can't leave, Mum," Simone cried. "I just can't."
"You can do anything, you have a superpower. You're really gonna let some middle-aged man tell you what you can or can't do?" Ellery whispered to her. "No matter what happens, you're safe."
"Come on, let's call Dylan," Blossom took her daughter's hand, but once she got up, the girl ran away towards the bridge to fulfill Kilgrave's request.
“Simone?!” Sean exclaimed, his eyes widening in fear as she raced past him out the restaurant door. “SIMONE!” he called, taking off after her without another thought.
While his uncle ran after Simone, Charlie rounded on Kilgrave. “What did you make her do?” He demanded.
Kilgrave shrugged. “She was the one who chose to run. If she’d rather jump off the bridge than stay with me, that’s her prerogative, I suppose.” He sighed, pinching the bridge of his aquiline nose. “And here I thought we could be happy together.”
"You're sick!" Ellery screamed while Blossom ran out to follow her daughter as well. "Man, you're not ugly enough to be that desperate, find someone who can love you for real."
“Is that an offer?” Kilgrave asked, flashing Ellery a grin. "Seems beauty runs in the family..."
Before the man could control his twin, Charlie frowned, drawing on his own power. He could feel the vibration of Kilgrave’s power pulling at him and he reached out with his mind, borrowing his ability.
“Hey,” he said, drawing the man’s attention. “Forget all about us. Forget about your power. Don’t use it for bad,” he commanded.
"Let's get out of here," Ellery took her brother's arm. "Hope he learns his lesson. He definitely knows how to treat a lady, he just needs to find one that wants to be with him."
Charlie nodded, letting his sister pull him out of the restaurant and they ran to join their uncle and aunt.
*****
"Simone!" Blossom ran, catching up to them just as she climbed to jump. She looked back at her mum and dad and smiled, her cousin's words made her very confident.
“Moony, what’re you doing? Please come down!” Sean cried, his heart twisting in his chest as he held onto his wife. “We can fix this! Please don’t jump!”
"Sean... it's alright," Blossom understood her plan, she had done it before with the power she passed down to her daughter.
"See you in a second, don't worry about me," Simone waved and let go, falling as if she were diving into a pool.
To stop herself from hitting the water, she covered her own body in a force field and emerged back to the bridge covered in a thin blue-ish bubble.
As soon as Simone emerged, protected in her bubble, Sean let out a relieved gasp, his arms tightening around his wife. “Oh thank God she’s okay,” he cried, his eyes burning with unshed tears.
Simone ran into her parents' arms and sighed. She didn't even realize she was still wearing the outfit that was picked out for her.
"We should probably return these stuff to Bloomingdale's, right?" She asked.
"But the dress is cute..." Ellery joked. "He won't be bothering you again."
"Yeah, I made sure of that," Charlie assured her, joining the others in embracing her.
"Thank you, Cha-Charlie," Sean murmured, ruffling his nephew's curls. "I'm so fuckin' glad you all have those damn powers," he sighed, kissing the top of Simone's head.
"Thank you for coming for me," she looked lovingly at her cousins and her mother, then turned and placed a kiss on her father's cheek. "You're a hero too, Daddy."
Sean shook his head. "I was so helpless," he murmured, squeezing her tighter.
"Not all heroes have powers, some just are really amazing dads," she held his hand as they walked back to the store. "You weren't hopeless, you didn't give up. I called you because I knew you'd know something was wrong and come help, and you did."
"Of course, I'd never give up on you, darlin'," Sean breathed.
