'its not forgiveness, you don't forgive a dog for biting you when it thinks your a threat, you don't forgive a equation for giving you the answer you don't want, a model for proving you wrong. you understand them- understand why- and know they couldn't have done anything different.

maybe that is forgiveness, but to me forgiveness implies choice, they had a choice to hurt you, and you have a choice to forgive them, when there was no such choice for us. she made the decision she did, and im tired of being angry, of wishing something that killed its ability to change could change, could change the past, for me.

i know Celia loves me, and that why she did what she did, why she hurt me so. because its not that she didn't love me enough to not hurt me, its that she loved me enough to ruin my life, to tear me away from my family- for my own good.

Hello! Just a warning, it is often illegal to take in wild animals, usually birds especially as pets and even then is not a very smart move. It can be dangerous for both you and the animal considering you're not trained in their care, nor are they socialized. If it is injured I recommend contacting a local wildlife or animal rescue institute. If it isn't injured, then just rerelease it.

The following is not related to Avatar, but to wildlife protection and conservation.

I would like to use this Blog to raise awareness in this case, since one if not the core message of the franchise is to respect nature and try to preserve it.

I'm a volunteer at one of my cities wildlife-recues, more precise corvids (eg crows, ravens, etc).

Around May many corvid offspring start their fledgling phase, during which they learn to fly and become independent from their parents.

During that time the fledgling may be spotted sitting on the ground and may look abandoned on first glance.

However, more often than not, the parents are still around guarding their offspring.

Why am I telling you that? Because many people, especially those born and raised in cities with little to no contact/knowledge of wildlife tend to do stupid actions when they see the "lost and helpless" offspring.

In "best case" they "rescue" the fledgling and feed them inproper food, like cat/dog food, and contact a rescue to take over.

Today however, I was called to a "worst case".

The family who called kept the fledgling over 4 weeks, claiming they found it when it wasn't able to fly at all, during their vacation several hours from where they live, and had since then fed it both cat & dog food, as well as "ringed" it with a key ring.

But the worst off all? They also trimmed the wings.

Young crows can usually be reintroduced into the wild after a few weeks in care; as soon as they pick food on their own, have complete and healthy plummage, and are not actively seeking human contact, they can go.

The crow I picked up is generally in good conditions, and could have been released in a month at most.

However, she won't be able to fly properly without intact flight feathers to carry her. Which means she needs to molt first.

And since we can't release her shortly before winter, when food becomes rare, we have to wait for the next spring, when there's enough food avaiable to sustain her.

Which means she now has to be kept for a year before she can live a proper crows life.

Where I live, crows (and corvids in general) are classified as wild animals, therefore it's illegal to keep them without a license. But, in my city at least, law is so fucked up that you basically need 110% proof + a video of people commiting the crime, or else charges will be dropped due to a "lack of proof".

So, not only did the actions of those people result in the crow being denied a natural life for a whole year, they also won't face any repercussion most likely.

If you witness or even know someone who does something like that, please try to reason with them/contact a wildlife rescue.

Wildlife are no pets, so please don't treat them like such. Please respect them as what they are, for their sake.

Hello, Tumblr Community. Aside from art and botany, my passions lie in animal care. I have 11 rescue cats and a handful of dogs I care for. I follow animal rescues to help with engagement and donations when I can for the animals in their care.

I know it's not my usual content but I wanted to share some rescues that I love and ways to support them.

If you have any recues you follow, love, or want to support, please share them. If you have the financial means or time of day to engage to help them save more animals that would be wonderful. Of course, take care of yourself first and if you take care of your finances now you can have an even bigger impact in the future.

It's hard to see the suffering of animals, especially by the abuse or neglect of humans who were supposed to take care of them. Please also take care of your mental health.

Na natureza, sentimentos negativos como medo, ansiedade e dor, são mecanismos usados para proteger o animal. Por exemplo, digamos que um leão vai caçar, mas algo dá errado e ele se machuca. Em um cenário como esse, o leão tem duas opções: Ele insiste e corre o risco de morrer ou ele recua e espera se recuperar. A segunda opção, obviamente é a mais sensata. Por isso, diante de uma derrota o cérebro desliga a produção de hormônios ligado a motivação para que assim o animal recue. Então coisas como apetite, libido, interesse, tudo isso diante de um possível fracasso é suprimido. De um ponto de vista evolutivo, essa relação faz todo sentido, mas para nós, seres humanos modernos, ela representa um problema, porque as nossas derrotas são abstratas e muitas vezes ela mora dentro da nossa cabeça. Ou seja, o cérebro ao perceber que tem alguma coisa errada ele age em defesa do organismo. 

Agora se essa coisa errada não vai embora, seja porque ela é uma ilusão ou porque ela está acima do nosso controle, esse mecanismo corre o risco de não ser desligado. O resultado são aqueles sintomas clássicos da depressão: Desanimo, apatia, falta de apetite. Essa abordagem parte do princípio que uma doença mental não se resume a um desequilíbrio químico, é muito mais do que isso. Tudo é influenciado pelo contexto! Ou seja, não adianta entupir uma pessoa de remédio sem levar em conta o ambiente em que ela está inserida. Enquanto existirem fatores que a mente interpreta como perigo, derrota ou algo a ser evitado, pode ser que os sintomas da depressão continuem voltando. A longo prazo isso pode ter um efeito devastador, o corpo fica pesado, a comida perde o sabor, o simples ato de existir se torna um fardo. 

Então, como fugir da melancolia ? Se eu dissesse que sei a resposta eu estaria mentindo. Eu tive uma boa melhora no meu quadro a uns meses atrás, mas agora parece que está tudo pior do que antes. No meu caso tem muito a ver com o déficit de atenção. Eu sou extremamente lento e desorganizado. Isso afeta várias esferas da minha vida e aí eu sinto culpa. O que me ajuda as vezes é tentar ser gentil comigo mesmo. Isso se traduz em um banho, um sorvete, uma caminhada no bairro… qualquer coisa que me faça voltar ao presente. O corpo humano não é tão diferente de uma máquina se você for parar pra pensar. O problema está nessa dissonância entre o instinto animal e vida moderna. Sedentarismo, estresse, solidão, existe todo um preço que a gente paga por viver em sociedade. Quando você não se encaixa em um padrão bem especifico de produtividade, sua própria mente começa a se enxergar como um fracasso. 

Eu acho que o melhor que a gente pode fazer diante disso, além de buscar ajuda profissional, é redefinir as nossas expectativas. Isso tudo aqui, é uma tentativa. Se isso ajudar uma pessoa a se sentir melhor, eu vou me dar por satisfeito.

That is actually kinda awesome. I can imagine Dany with the S on her chest, flying around buildings and becoming a symble around the world while fighting criminals with such ease + showing her soft side recuing cats from trees.

Furthermore the parallels between them fits. They were exiled/sent to a place they were never meant to be, but had to go to survive. Parents were dead when they were born for really great events on the history and these parents + relatives were highly involved on why this tragedy happend.

Dany survived the slaughter of her house when Robert wiped out all the Targaryens.

Kal-El is the last child of Kripton (since the Planet have gone booom)

And both of them really have a strong moral compass within wich leads them for being just and Noble, always trying to help the ones in need.

Clark and Dany are really alike and would be good friends. (Dany is a bit more ruthless, tbh, what makes her incredbly a lot like Kara too)

Now Arya I always imagined her as Diana, a good liestener, a good friend, a wise adviser, and a fierce woman. rsrsrsrs. It fits the little she-wolf of winterfell, I guess, and I used to see more of Jon being Batman, who was always reclusive, kinda introvert and an amazing strategist.

But now that you said... I actually com imagine him as Aquaman. It would be interesting to see your take on why, tho. For me it is easier to imagine Theon or Asha with this role.

And haha. The aesthetic of Arya as Wayne and as Batman is awesome and now that you said it, Bruce and Arya share a lot of similarities and even parallels, since being born on a wealthy family, being presents on their parents' deathes wich had a huge impact on their lives and goals, the animal symbolism, the world travelling, joining a guild/cult of assassins to actually get out later with the purpose to seek justice for their parents and for the citizens/smallfolk of their city/North. The only difference I see here is that Arya is more an extrovert than Bruce ever was. You hit the jackpot here and personally I loved this take.

Bram as Martial Manhunter also works well since he is a warg and a greenseer. Both being really diplomatic oriented, and the survivors from a disaster that destroyed their home.
