The clock on your wall glared at you with its neon red numbers: 2:37 AM

You sighed, turning onto your side for what felt like the hundredth time. Sleep wasn’t coming tonight, no matter how many times you closed your eyes or tried to focus on your breathing. Your mind was racing with no clear destination, and the silence of the room only made it worse.

Your phone buzzed on the nightstand, the sudden vibration making you jump. Reaching over, you saw Chuuya’s name light up the screen.

"Still awake?"

You frowned. He had been working late tonight. You figured he’d be passed out by now, too tired to deal with anything that wasn’t related to the Port Mafia.

"Yeah. Can’t sleep," you typed back.

The reply came almost instantly. "Be ready in 10. Dress warmly."

You stared at the screen, puzzled. What was he up to now? But knowing your lover, there was no use arguing.

True to his word, you heard the low growl of a motorcycle engine outside exactly ten minutes later. Peeking out the window, you saw him leaning casually against his vehicle, helmet in one hand, dressed in his usual impeccable coat. He looked as though he belonged in the cover of a magazine instead of your quiet street at an ungodly hour.

You slipped on a jacket and headed outside, the crisp night air hitting you immediately.

“What are you doing here?” you asked, crossing your arms to fight off the chill.

Chuuya smirked, holding out the spare helmet to you. “You said you couldn’t sleep, didn’t you? Thought I’d help you out.”

“By dragging me out of bed in the middle of the night?” you teased, but you couldn’t hide the smile tugging at your lips.

He rolled his eyes. “Just trust me, alright? Hop on.”

You hesitated for a moment before taking the helmet and climbing onto the back of the motorcycle. Your arms automatically wrapped around his waist as he started the engine, the vibration rumbling beneath you.

“Hold on tight,” he said over his shoulder, his voice carrying a playful edge.

And then you were off.

The streets were empty, bathed in the soft glow of streetlights. The hum of the motorcycle was steady, almost soothing, as Chuuya weaved through the city with ease. The cold night air whipped past you, but it was exhilarating rather than uncomfortable.

At one point, he glanced back at you. “Still awake?”

You laughed softly, your cheek resting against his back. “Barely.”

“Good,” he said, his voice softer now. “That’s the point.”

He took you through parts of the city you’d never seen at night. The bustling markets were now quiet, their stalls empty and streets silent. Bridges glowed faintly under the moonlight, and the river shimmered like glass. It felt like the world belonged to the two of you, just for tonight.

Eventually, he slowed down, pulling into a quiet overlook on the outskirts of the city. The view was breathtaking—the skyline glittered in the distance, a sea of stars reflected in every window.

Chuuya cut the engine, the sudden silence almost startling after the hum of the ride. You climbed off, pulling off your helmet as you took in the view.

“Didn’t think you were the type for late-night joyrides,” you said, breaking the quiet.

He leaned against the motorcycle, lighting a cigarette as he smirked(yes he smokes here🙄). “I’m full of surprises, doll.”

You rolled your eyes but couldn’t stop the warmth spreading through your chest. “Thanks, though. For this.”

He shrugged, exhaling a cloud of smoke. “You looked like you needed it.”

The two of you stood there for a while, neither feeling the need to fill the silence. The stars seemed brighter here, and the city below looked so small, so peaceful. You couldn’t remember the last time you felt this calm.

“You doing better now?” he asked after a while, his voice quiet.

You nodded, leaning against his shoulder. “Yeah. I think I’ll be able to sleep after this.”

He smiled, a rare, genuine one that made your heart skip a beat. “Good. Because I’m not about to make this a habit.”

“Sure you’re not,” you teased, nudging him lightly.

He laughed, flicking his cigarette away before wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Alright, let’s get you home. I’ve got work in the morning, and you’re not dragging me into your bad sleeping habits.”

You rolled your eyes but let him guide you back to the vehicle. As the engine roared to life again, you couldn’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, sleepless nights weren’t so bad when your lover was there to pull you out of them.

i saw your post saying that people who ship incest and headcanon dazai as liking that stuff are obviously going to be harrassed. I don't headcanon dazai as liking daddy kiddy stuff, but i want to ask how you think writing about that makes a person bad. because dazai has literally committed AT LEAST child abuse(akutagawa), 136 murders, 312 extortion cases, 625 cases of fraud and more. but if you think authors deserve to get harrassed for writing about sick crimes like incest because they support or like such things, then why aren't you harrassing asagiri for writing about all those things? and I've seen alot of people that act like sex crimes are somehow different from torture and murder. so I'd like to ask this. do you approve of cheating irl because you act like people who write about sexual related immorality are condoning it and then you say that you might write about cheating in your fic request rules. Also, If you're deep in the bsd community then you may have read no longer human, in which it is heavily heavily implied(to the point that there's literally no other explanation for what happened to her exept rape) that yozo's wife,yoshiko, was raped. do you believe that the irl dazai approved of rape?

I'm sorry but, are you stupid? you're asking why someone is a bad person for writing incest, pedophilia and rape content. OFC SOMEONE IS A BAD PERSON FOR WRITING THAT KIND OF STUFF. If someone writes it they normalize it, and normalzing disgusting shit like that is VERY harmful.

Its kinda dumb that you are compering Dazai, a fictional character to real people, Dazai is not a real person, so his actions don't effect real people, but people who make incest do effect real people. As someone who is a victim of sa, its very triggering to see incest, pedophilia, rape ect content being made of my favorite character. Making that type of content is normalizing it, and if we normalize kids being raped by someone they're close to, then its gonna end up making younger kids think that its okay if that happens to them.

Now the book part, i have the book but i haven't read it, and bringing the real life dazai, into this is stupid, he lived over 70 years ago, people thought differently about rape back then so its hard to know. also the book is a fucking autobiography so ofc its gonna talk about stuff that happened in his life

chuuya getting angry dazai didnt react is just as funny to me, and i love the implication that chuuya is like "if im going to do something this stupid, at least enjoy it or act like you enjoy it” i also like to think the reason dazai stayed quiet was because he was just in shock he actually did it .. like brother was Not about to release information that would cause the downfall of the mafia & that was keeping him alive just because chuuya wouldn't do a silly pose and voice. i swear i can see his stupid face (i mean this in the most affectionate way) he probably had in my head rn

The Bungo Stray Dogs dynamic between Nakahara and Dazai is hilarious with Dazai being the instigator. It gets even funnier when you remember that in real life Nakahara was the prime instigator and regularly bullied Dazai until he cried.
