Someone was driving by a local “family farm” and saw a bloated cow from the road, she called police and then called us. We called a vet and drove out immediately, arriving on the scene less than 15 minutes after getting the call. On the scene we found the bloated cow had been dead for some time. Ten feet from was a dead calf. We then found the woman who saw her and a police officer with the other calf. She was barely alive. She was nothing but bones.. The vet arrived. We took blood and administered meds and IV fluids. Her temperature was only 86 degrees, instead of the 102 I was hoping for.. The farmer showed up and signed Minnie the calf over to us.. We took her back to the sanctuary and put her in a warmer to try and get her temperature up.. Sadly beautiful Minnie passed away.. We buried her.. She was a beautiful little Hereford girl and only a baby.. SHE STARVED TO DEATH BECAUSE NO ONE CARED ENOUGH TO FEED HER OR HER HERD... This sucks.. You shouldn’t be able to “own” someone.. #latepost Was here for dog walk but the center was closed. They let me in with some journalists, we promised to help and promote them. They told us that the Costa Rican govt wants to close the dog & cat sanctuary. They put so much pressure on the owner to build "international standard" fences around the place. The govt also threatened the owner that they will killed the sick and old dogs & cats - to be honest, they used up the donated money to build the "international standard" that the govt wants and the govt didn't gives the meds for the dogs & cats because they don't have the "international standard". The point is the govt want to close the place. I found some pure breed like #siberianhusky #greatdane and akita/shiba inu. They were "sent"/threw here because the owner dont want/like them. Many were abused too. You can adopt them. If you read this and touch your heart, I would like to share 2 things: 1. They accept volunteers EVERYDAY to help them clean the place while they focus on constructing the place. 2. Please donate. No matter how much. You can donate dog food and meds too. Go to their FB page and web. They need help so much.
