'Angel Sua' has eyes that interest me in the "damn,,, I see em" way and the "this must be another aspect of her religious themes" kind of way, I mean that only because her pupils are so big, I almost think it's meant to look similar to a biblical angel, they have eyes like that to signify their all-knowing awareness, I see it as a connection to Sua's inherently omniscient and mysterious nature

I didn’t articulate this in my five second post from earlier but I have a thought that I've had since Wembley 2023. Basically, I think Blood Sport existed before Sleep Token. Like, point blank period. When Vessel chose to play it at Wembley, I realized it. I was like "oh, okay, that's clearly his. That's what started all of this. That's the song. The beginning."

Granted, I'm also sure he had lots of stuff running around in his head. But. I firmly believe Blood Sport existed before Sleep Token. It was like. A complete song/idea before Sleep Token was a complete idea, if that makes sense?

Oh I 100% agree yeah. I've commented this several times before with multiple people, but I fully believe the songs from One and Two (especially One), were written at the same time his Before stuff were. One in particular seems so on par with his previous project's sound. The non-linear writing, the abstract cadence, etc.

I can't remember who said it, but there was someone that mentioned on a recent-ish article that Vessel has enough material ready for at least 2 or 3 albums more (which is not surprising). I constantly wonder exactly how many ST songs were conceived before Vessel ever put on the mask.

Yeah tbh, everything with Season 5 is ://///// Everyone and everything is so off and all they care about is arriving at Camlann and none of it feels authentic or earned to me. Like never mind the fact that this show was supposed to be a prequel to the legendary King Arthur days, everyone has these moments of acting so OOC just to push this weird unearned plot line. I have issues with Season 4 but I prefer to think the show ended with 4x13 and just ignore everything with Season 5 lol.

And about Gwen - nah it’s still a shit show I’ve been around since 2008 and this fandom has never talked about or treated her properly. They never will apparently but at least Angel doesn’t have to cop the vitriol directly to her face anymore.

yeah it really was just a push to DOTD and on one hand that finale has been the plan since s1 and i actually like DOTD because of past set-ups from previous seasons

however, all of it comes at a cost of some solid character building in s5

s4 ends with the sword in the stone legend and a (sort of) repeat “take back the castle” from s3’s finale that cements Arthur as King Arthur. so, i totally get your thoughts of “yeah, bbc merlin ends here for me” because it completes the build up to King Arthur and leaves the rest of his reign up to our interpretation

but then s5 comes around and where we are supposed to see how the Once and Future King’s reign’s been going, it sort of shows us that “yeah, sure, Arthur’s made some changes and allies but also not much has changed from s4 and magic is still presented as the evil antagonist and now we are one a faster countdown bc Camlann soooooooooo”

idk man :/ like i want to like s5 bc DOTD was so good (bc of how much had been built up all 5 seasons) but also i have so many “what if” scenarios that are for changing a lot of s5’s plot lmao

like the ending was inevitable and they could have still reached it without making those narrative choices for s5. in my humble opinion of course

Thinking about Jack being terrified.

Thinking about him being terrified of someone in the Jakob's family dying, because he'd be in the will. Because that means he'd have to go back. That means he'd have to tell the truth.

Thinking about him being terrified of Sl33py finding out about Angel. Terrified of how he'd react. Would he stay? Would he demand answers? What would Jack respond with, how could he explain? He barely understands it himself.

Thinking about the look on Jack's face when Sl33py does find out. When Sl33py is cradling the body of a daughter he didn't know they had, learning she was real, knowing this entire time he could have been holding her. Finding out in that moment that his closest friend was his child, was Jack's child, was their child. And now there's nothing he can do.

Thinking about Jack trying to explain, surrounded by the dead body of their enemy and the chained up siren they've been hunting down, how close they are and how far Sl33py feels as he look at him, and he sees that look, that one that means he's going to lose this.

The same his second wife gave him before fleeing, before abandoning him. The same his mother had given him before he never saw her again. The same his grandmother had. The look like he's wrong. Like he's done something wrong. Like they hate him. Like he's going to lose something.

Something important.
