Scarlett and Terrence being one of the angel/demon pairings I don't like
Actually this point is pretty simple. I love Scarlett and I despise Terrence. He definitly seems like a blank character they introduced just to have someone to be Sulfus's imaginary rival. He appears randomly, does nothing interesting and is not entertaining nor sympathethic to me. Scarlett isn't someone Raf is jealous off. She really is a teacher with an amazing sass and doing her job. The thing is that she doesn't pops up and starts talking to Sulfus, he's the one seeing her and being shocked later but she didn't even remark him. she deserves better than him.
To be fair, I could have said the same thing about Gabe than what I hate about Terrence. But in reality Gabe has a personnality and some important character traits Terrence lack off.
But to give him one real good point, it was a perfect idea to have new teachers for summer school because Arkan and Temtel would have made no sense. Them, working on a summer class? To be honest I can't picture it. And if they were just appearing in this movie, Terrence's bland personnality wouldn't have been that much of a problem to me but he appears in season 2 and to have a character saying things without any emotion is so annoying.
Scarlett deserves better

hello :) I’m picking a play for my book club I'm in with my friends for fun, and part of the book club requirement is that I have to pick something I haven't read yet. I've read a lot of the classics (a streetcar named desire, fences, part 1 of angels in america, some Shakespeare, etc) so I was wondering what are some of your favorite plays, or maybe some of your favorites that you feel are lesser-known? (I've read a lot of Carson's Greek translations but not all of them, so still feel free to rec her if you want!)
Hello! Honestly I haven’t read a ton of plays so I have a limited list of recommendations! I really loved Corpus Christi by Terrence McNally and definitely recommend it! I’ve also really enjoyed The Greek Plays by Ellen McLaughlin which is just a collection of her translations and adaptions. You’ve most likely read it but if not, HIGHLY recommend Anne Carson’s translation and adaption of the Bakkhai

A multiversal reunion between Charlies that I dreamt yesterday (when they all first met)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Game!Charles (the original, with no other design): So what was the canon event of your universes?
MNC!Charles: Well my friends and I got accused of a robbery we didn't do and we decided to create a criminal organization named the Midnight-Ninja Clan as revenge.
MH!Charles: My friends and I got attacked by a crazy monster demon girl and we got powers, so now we are some sort of magical super heroes.
A!Charles: I'm a android and I became friend with the Toppat chief's daughter who is also a android.
FP!Charles: well I had a accident and I couldn't return to the government, so I joined the Toppat Clan.
CHAR-E: well I'm a cleaning robot and I've been living in a dirty earth until I meet the robot of my dreams.
Game!Charles: Interesting guys! And what about you, angel me?
CC!Charles: Me?
MNC!Charles: Yeah man! What was the main event that made the beginning of your universe adventure?
CC!Charles: Well... (💭I was literally captured with Dave by the time CC!Terrence started his madness, if I tell them they could mock me) I was heading to the Toppat airship when everything started, you know, the Terrence of my universe and his hypnotizing madness.
All Charles: ... Alright?
“All of my friends are dead.” It was said in his customary matter-of-fact tone, without the slightest hint of self-pity. This was Robin, my supervisor at university, who would often discuss his pre-academic life and what it was like to be a gay man during the worst of the Aids crisis. That he had survived at all struck him as incredible.
In those early days, the sense of an angel of death targeting a particular community seemed like the realisation of a nightmare. When it first emerged in the US it was known as GRID (gay-related immune deficiency). An article appeared in the New York Times on 3 July 1981 with the ominous headline: “Rare cancer seen in 41 homosexuals.” Some called it the “gay plague”.
Confusion turned into widespread panic, not limited to the gay community. The first time I heard of the disease was during a PE lesson at primary school. Such was the general ignorance that our teacher warned us not to borrow each other’s plimsolls or we’d catch Aids. Some time later I saw the government’s public health advert on the television; I remember little about it except the large tombstone with the dreaded four-letter acronym as an epitaph.
In the 40 years since the virus was identified, there has been a sea-change in attitudes. Whereas the government’s campaign set out to frighten people with the message “it’s a deadly disease and there’s no known cure”, a recent advert by the Terrence Higgins Trust reminds people that those diagnosed with HIV “can live a healthy, happy life just like anyone else”. Much of the stigma has dissipated.
The same is true of homosexuality itself. One could say that while the Aids crisis exacerbated the hatred and mistrust against an already beleaguered community, it also spurred activists onto the pathway to normalisation. Whereas the pursuit of a gay lifestyle was romanticised — or demonised — as a dance of Eros and Thanatos, a way to ensure that one remained beyond the scope of civilised society, today the very notion of being orientated towards one’s own sex is largely perceived as unremarkable. Those who bleat about their oppression as gay people in a climate of widespread tolerance are luxuriating in a kind of perverse nostalgia for a reality they could never comprehend.
For those who lived through it, the Aids crisis was a moment when the concept of a “gay community” actually meant something. Lesbians were instrumental in providing support for their gay brothers, and amid the loss there was a sense of greater solidarity. I remember seeing a production of Larry Kramer’s The Normal Heart in New York in 2004. The audience mostly comprised of older gay men, and Kramer was among them. Afterwards, people were visibly shaken from watching the worst of their past so unflinchingly dramatised. One man approached Kramer and, through his sobs, I heard him simply say: “thank you”.
Kramer has been credited as a kind of Cassandra figure, one who had warned that the hedonism of gay life in the late Seventies would lead to trouble. His novel Faggots (1978) was loathed by conservatives for its graphic depiction of the sexual free-for-alls of New York’s bathhouse culture, but it was also mistrusted by the gay community for its moralising implications. Its lead character is on an impossible quest to find meaningful love in a world of fleeting sexual encounters. Kramer was criticising what he saw as a sybaritic and morally vacuous culture, and the sense of an impending reckoning has led to the novel being interpreted as predicting the outbreak of Aids.
When the crisis exploded, Kramer was one of those calling on gay men to exercise sexual temperance, and to shut the bathhouses until the virus could be contained. For this he was accused of being a puritan and a traitor to the gay lifestyle. His play The Normal Heart is set around this time, and in one furious monologue a character rails against a Kramer-type figure for trying to make gay men feel ashamed of their own liberation.
For the ultra-religious, Aids was seen as a righteous punishment from God. Many had been appalled at the promiscuity that inevitably arises when women are no longer in the equation. Male sexuality has always been contained to a degree by the institution of marriage, but gay men had been forced to exist on the periphery. There was no need to abide by sexual mores, because the rules had clearly not been written with them in mind. In other words, sex became an integral aspect of their own defiance against the society that had shunned them.
It always seemed a catch-22. Gay men were loathed for their sexual licentiousness, and at the same time excluded from the very ethical framework that would, to a degree, offer some kind of incentive against it. In his 1982 lecture, “Rediscovering gay history”, the historian John Boswell addressed this fundamental contradiction and argued for the need for a gay archetype or moral aspiration. He pointed out that when a straight man cheated on his wife, he at least knew that he was falling short of society’s expectations. But the same could not be said for gay men:
“I think that part of the reason for the ambivalence of the intellectual establishment in the United States is that they can’t tell when they read a book like Edmund White’s States of Desire, whether the life of casual promiscuity it depicts represents a homosexual ideal or the failure of an ideal. Are they reading about what gay people should do, what they do, or both, or neither? So they don’t know how to fit it into their usual critical apparatus. They don’t understand what would be a departure from homosexual ethics because they don’t know what homosexual ethics would be. And neither do we.”
Boswell was right that this ambivalence existed within and without the gay community. When William Friedkin’s film Cruising was released in 1980, the most vehement opposition came from gay campaigners who feared that it would depict them as being inherently deviant. And yet the movie had been shot in the leather bars of New York City, and the real-life sex acts that were filmed were hardly atypical. This subculture may not have been reflective of gay society as a whole, but it certainly existed.
Perhaps it could be said that the activists who sought to ban Cruising won out in the end. Their implicit goal was that gay people could be brought under the aegis of heterosexual respectability — that they could, in other words, live as conventionally as everybody else. It didn’t surprise me at all, therefore, that it was a conservative government in the UK that eventually legalised same-sex marriage. It would appear that we have seen the cultivation in the Western world of the kind of shared ethical ideals that Boswell seemed to crave. Gay monogamy is no longer seen as an oxymoron.
Many gay rights groups, of course, opposed same-sex marriage. To them, it was a way to control gay people, to bring them within the same heteronormative yoke that dominated the rest of society. This debate echoed those of The Normal Heart, where there was a fear of an attempt to “civilise” those who had found freedom in occupying a realm outside of social convention. To be gay was to be different, and for many this was a source of pride. An older gay man once told me that sex was far more exhilarating when it was illegal. It meant that even the most casual sexual encounter was a little act of rebellion.
But even as tolerance has increased, anti-gay feeling has not gone away. The Aids crisis galvanised such prejudices, and of course religious fundamentalists have always opposed those who they deem to be acting against the wishes of their various gods. Today, these prejudices are resurfacing through the obsession with gender identity, an ideology that shames gay people for not being attracted to members of the opposite sex and has been responsible for the government-funded medicalisation of gay youth. In many ways, this is a “progressive” rehash of Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988, with its prohibition in schools against the “promotion” or “acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship”.
The instinctive disgust that many people feel towards those who do not share their own sexual inclinations is seemingly hard-wired, and so what we call “homophobia” will always emerge in one way or another in a majority heterosexual culture. But at least to be gay is no longer defined solely by the sexual act, and that for one man to fall in love with another is widely considered to be an unexceptional fact of life. The gay rights activists of yesteryear weren’t necessarily calling for universal indifference, but perhaps we’ll get there in the end.
“I always felt like the kid that sat at the foot of the gods,” said Treat Williams, who has died aged 71 following a road accident. And it is true that the first decade of his movie career was dominated by one high-calibre director after another.
John Sturges put the doughy-faced, darkly handsome actor toe-to-toe with Michael Caine in The Eagle Has Landed (1976), adapted from Jack Higgins’s novel about a plot to kidnap Winston Churchill. Miloš Forman gave Williams his first lead, as the hippie Berger in the screen version (1979) of the 1967 musical Hair. He was an ill-tempered army corporal in Steven Spielberg’s wartime comedy 1941 (also 1979). Sidney Lumet drew on his cocksure swagger and his air of moral ambiguity in Prince of the City (1981), a thriller about police corruption. And Sergio Leone cast him as a union boss in the gangster epic Once Upon a Time in America (1984).
It was Lumet’s film that announced Williams as a formidable talent, with a special aptitude for ensemble playing. He starred as Danny Ciello, a corrupt drugs squad detective who becomes increasingly isolated as he informs on his colleagues in the elite Special Investigations Unit. The character was based on the detective Robert Leuci. Williams lived with Leuci while preparing for the part. He also attended drug busts and hung out with police officers. “By the time we started rehearsals, I was thinking like a cop,” he said.
Janet Maslin in the New York Times commended the “playful, arrogant, effectively brazen quality” of his portrayal. Equally integral is the seam of self-disgust that runs through Ciello, first when he is exploiting his power over drug addicts and dealers, then when he turns on his own kind.
Williams went on to display a menacing eroticism in Smooth Talk (1985), directed by Joyce Chopra and based on Joyce Carol Oates’s 1966 short story Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? When he turns up in the second half of the film as Arnold Friend, a vision of adult masculine prowess that the teenage protagonist (Laura Dern) seems to have been yearning for, he is simultaneously ridiculous, alluring and intimidating.
Williams was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and raised in nearby Rowayton, the son of Richard, a pharmaceuticals executive, and Marian (nee Andrews), an antiques dealer who also ran a sailing school. He was educated at Kent school, Connecticut, where he first began acting, and at Franklin & Marshall College, Pennsylvania. He studied in New York at the Actors Studio, where his classmates included Mickey Rourke, and was hired as understudy to four parts (including Doody, played on stage by John Travolta) in the Broadway production of Grease. Eventually he took over the lead role of Danny Zuko, which he played for three years.
Having already appeared on stage in the London production of The Ritz, Terrence McNally’s comedy about a hounded businessman hiding out in a gay bath-house, he was then cast in Richard Lester’s 1976 movie version.
Auditioning for the film of Hair was a lengthy and arduous process. During his 12th audition, he recalled: “I started removing all of my clothing. At the end of the monologue, I was standing stark naked in front of them … They applauded, and I told them: ‘This is all that I’ve got, I don’t know what else I can give you.’” It was enough.
Discouraged when Hair, 1941 and the comedy Why Would I Lie? (1980) continued a run of box-office flops, he began an alternative career flying planes in Los Angeles. A call from Lumet, who was looking for an un-starry and largely unknown cast for Prince of the City, put him back on track.
He continued to alternate between film and theatre, following Lumet’s picture by appearing in Ohio in Carlo Goldoni’s farce The Servant of Two Masters and on Broadway taking over from Kevin Kline as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance. On television, he played the boxer Jack Dempsey in the TV movie Dempsey (1983), Stanley Kowalski – opposite Ann-Margret as Stella – in A Streetcar Named Desire (1984), the title role in J. Edgar Hoover (1987) and the super-agent Michael Ovitz, co-founder of CAA, in The Late Shift (1996), for which he was Emmy-nominated.
In Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead (1995), he played a thug working as an undertaker and using corpses as punch-bags. He was also in the noir-ish Mulholland Falls, the superhero adventure The Phantom (both 1996) and the thriller The Devil’s Own (1997), starring Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt.
Better than these were two projects that displayed his versatility: the monster movie Deep Rising (1998), in which he does battle with sharp-fanged sea-serpents, and The Deep End of the Ocean (1999), starring Williams and Michelle Pfeiffer as a couple reunited with their son many years after he was kidnapped.
He starred in Woody Allen’s Hollywood Ending (2002), played James Franco’s father in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, and the writer Mark Schorer in Howl (both 2010), which also starred Franco as Allen Ginsberg. He had a recurring role on the series Everwood (2002-06), as a widowed neurosurgeon settling in Colorado with his children, and on the cop drama Blue Bloods (2016-23). He also appeared in many Hallmark channel productions, including the series Chesapeake Shores (2016-22), as well as the Netflix musical Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square (2020).
He is survived by his wife, Pam Van Sant, whom he married in 1988, and their children, Gill and Ellie.
Project: Windchill - WIP Intro
This is the adventure of one young man - Jeremy Elden, a young, previously-normal college student - to bring down the systems that oppress the community he didn’t know he belonged to. In fact, he didn’t even realize it existed.
In the face of adversity and oppression from the powers that be, Jeremy must learn to harness the new power inside him as he grows to accept that the people he was meant to trust hid pertinent information about the world. Now, he has to relearn everything he thought he knew with his mentors and friends - both new and old.
Can he live up to being their chosen one? Or will he fall short in the sea of powers that are so much stronger than him?
Everybody knows there’s 12 months in a year. But what if there were more? What if humans, just like other mammals in the world, hibernated during the coldest, cruelest months of the year? What if that wasn’t a biological response? What if humans were forced into this slumber, losing three months of their lives to an uncontested war?
Details:
Genre: Adult speculative fiction novel
Setting: Midland, Michigan
Themes: fighting against oppression, freedom of expression, self-discovery
Content Warnings: character death, explicit and graphic depictions of violence
Features: LGBTQ+ protagonist and supporting characters, multiracial cast
Status: Draft 1 (Act 1/3)
Projected Release Date: TBD
The Rebellion
~ The Protagonist ~
Jeremy Elden (21) - a spirited college student. His new kid status hasn’t gotten him many friends in the rebellion, but his place in the prophecy definitely does. But is he really “the chosen one” like these people say? Or is he just cannon fodder for their fight against their oppressors?
~ The Supporting Cast ~
(art by @jasperygrace on Tumblr) Quincy Jackson (25) - a human lie detector. He first met Jeremy in the creative writing club on their college campus two years prior. They didn’t really speak until the next year, when they started hanging out regularly to write outside of school. But when Quincy appears on Jeremy’s doorstep, Jeremy has to rethink everything he knew about his friend.
Terrence Jackson (25) - the brute force powerhouse of the Rebellion. Terry is Quincy’s twin brother, the “body” to Quincy’s “soul.” The two are inseparable, but how will their tight bond hold up in the war they find themselves thrown into every year?
David Marino (22) - a young man with a strange fascination - Jeremy. What started as hero worship slowly fades once he realizes that Jeremy is an absolute disaster with no idea how to save the world. David is determined to help Jeremy on his journey to save the mutants of the world before they are eradicated by the powers that be. How is he supposed to do that when he has no plan?
Frost (???) - a young woman with a mysterious past. Her jovial, friendly nature disarms the adults of the Rebellion, but she quickly turns as cold as her powers when pushed too far about her past. She gets along with everyone, but will she get along with Jeremy when he becomes the new symbol of the Rebellion?
Elliot Lachman (48) - Jeremy’s very tired mentor. He is the right hand of the Rebellion’s leader, Julia, and takes charge in Jeremy’s training to become the savior of the world’s mutant population. His knowledge of the world has gotten him to where he needs to be, but how long will it be until that knowledge runs out?
The Extermination Task Force
Beelzebub (20) - the leader of the mutant extermination task force, a covert operations team under the federal government’s control. Bael was taken in by the government’s covert ops team at a young age and given his new name, hiding his old self deep in the recesses of his mind. Is he meant to stay under the government’s hold for the rest of his life? Or will he find freedom in unlikely places?
Samael (19) - the right hand to Bael in the task force. He was born with only two eyes, but his handlers determined that “biblically accurate angel” fit him better. He is always hesitant to cause destruction in the world despite the angel he was named after being the Angel of Death. How long can he last in the government’s control? Will he cave under the pressure?
hi! i hope you're doing well. can i have a FNaF match-up? my name is terrence (nicknames: T, Ter, Terry) and my pronouns are he/they. i have glasses, brown eyes, short, dirty blonde hair, and i usually just wear casual, comfy clothes. i really like to write, read, play video games, draw, and etc. i'm an infj-t and a scorpio! my favorite book series is the shadowhunter chronicles. i self-ship and stuff. i have a lot of self-insert ocs. im always afraid if i show something about myself, people will just leave me and let me rot alone. i love to decorate things with stickers! i have a few tarot/oracle card decks and i love to use them! i also love to ramble on and on about my latest hyper-fixation or whatever i want to talk about. anyways, i hope this isnt too much! have a lovely day
I match you with....
Toy Freddy!
Toy Freddy is a total geek and would spend countless hours with you.
You are casual and since you both have similar hobbies, he’d connect with you emotionally immediately.
He is alone most of the time since his friends doesn’t like gaming and the other things he enjoy and you coming to his life is basically like a ray of sunshine coming through the window of a dark room.
He always used to play horror games. He would be happy to try out new genre of games with you. That’s his favourite thing to do with you.
He loves your voice and would be happy if you read your favourite book series to him.
He would never judge you, EVER. If you want to talk about yourself or if something is bothering you, you can go and talk to him about it. He’s never the type to leave you based on who you are. To him, you are perfection. He always thinks that you are some sort of Angel. He admires everything about you. He thinks your flaws are perfect.
He loves to read what you write. He doesn’t judge you and would always cheer you on to continue writing. Idk why, but I get the feeling that he’s the type to bully someone online who made fun of your writing, if you post it.
He loves watching you draw, but can never draw with you because he always snaps the pencil in half or he presses on to the paper so hard the lead breaks.
Definitely would love to hear about your self-ships. So that he could compare himself to the character you ship yourself with and try to change his personality based on that character. Because deep inside him, he has a fear that if someone similar to that character exist, you would probably lose feelings for him :( and go away with the new person. You will need to reassure him that it’s not gonna happen.
Definitely would LOVE it if you put stickers on him. He really loves the sparkly or holographic ones.
Had no idea what Tarot Cards were until you introduced it to him. When he found out what they were used for, he kind of became addicted to it. He wants to know everything. Both of your future together, will you guys make new friends etc.
Would hear about your latest hyperfixations so that he himself could get into it. He practically loves everything that you love and wouldn’t even have a single doubt about him not liking it.
So many thoughts about the Angel’s friends movie... It definitly is the worst element of the serie for me but there were pretty good ideas! Let’s review it by points: My next posts will be about: - Raf and Sulfus relationship problems - Humans - Scarlett and Terrence being few of the demon/angel I absolutely don’t ship with Cabria/Urié and Dolce/Kabalé (but this is because Kabalé/Cabria is superior) - Miki and Gas being a couple (again) and nobody saying anything about it - Kabalé’s “feelings” for Sulfus - The whole Taiko/Sai and the... what’s the name in English of the Sentier Des Métamorphoses? And in every single of these posts, there will be good and bad things (except for Miki and Gas, I can never say anything bad when I talk about them.)
bio.
Colette was born wrong. Not just in the eyes of her parents because she was a precocious child, but in the soul of herself. She was assigned the wrong gender and bucked against that tradition for so long she can't remember, nor does she want to remember, a life before the moment she was allowed to be her true self.
Her birth, as she counts it, happened on May 14, 2010. Her parents, done with her attitude and honestly just choosing to give her whatever she wanted to be done with the excess of trouble they were being given. It was no skin off their nose what their child chose to be, as long as they did so at least somewhat quietly.
Fourteen year old Colette had a long time to mature into the person she was through all her treatments. She learned to manipulate the people around her in those days out of sheer boredom and the fact that, at the time, people were still giving odd looks to her for the choice. Perhaps a lot of her attitude is informed by the fact that she never felt like anyone accepted who she was anymore than they had accepted who she had been.
It wasn't until she entered private school at the age of sixteen, a seemingly entirely new person as far as anyone was concerned, that things seemed to change. She found her footing, found her position, and honestly had what she considered more money than god and the ability to throw it around. She was, in essence, spoiled, and it showed in everything she did.
Manipulation was second nature, finding most of her friends by her side by the sheer flaunt of money, parties, and status; she ruled by fear more than anything and likely never had a true friend. Those who might have been considered true friends are still wary of her - still keep her at arm's length because no matter what, she is unpredictable. She is, at her very core, venomous and in it for herself more than anyone else.
It didn't help that the drugs and alcohol were plentiful for people of their echelon. The addiction came fast and easy and though she convinces herself she's always in control of it, never making a public nuisance of herself, the fact is that she torments everyone in her life with her rash decisions and bad ideas which are a result of said addiction.
There was no stopping Colette once she found out just how much power she had, and she hasn't looked back since.
headcanons.
colette has a stuffed bear named terrence given to her by her first au pair in france that she sort of cherishes
colette spoke french before she spoke english and has the accent to reflect it. sometimes when angry she slips right back into french without even noticing.
colette always has her nails done no matter what. they are always manicured, polished, and ready to fight, so to speak.
colette owns partial stake in a fashion company that supplies most of the current trends to manhattan's new teen legends.
colette has a personal account outside of her funds from her family that is loaded with cash as a sort of 'just in case of emergency'; the reason and benefactor is unknown and most people are unaware of the account.
colette has mild bichromia. one of her eyes is brown and hazel (halved right down the middle) and the other is just brown.
colette was in a music video on more than one occasion and has absolutely obliterated any of the ones that existed pre-transition.
colette does not associate with her dead name whatsoever.
colette reinvented herself twice over and sees the dead name's life as a fuzzy memory of someone else's time.
colette once set the school's library drapes on fire; no one knows if it was on purpose but nothing ever came of it as her father paid to have it buried.
colette, for some reason, knows krav maga.
wanted connections.
the one friend who always stayed — like chuck had nate (for the most part), colette needs someone in her life who understands that she's broken and flawed but still always comes back to help her. she probably considers them her truest friend even if she'd lash out and be hard pressed to admit it, but this is the person who is the first call when shit goes tits-up. taken by Nova
the one she could have been happy with but keeps destroying the relationship — again, like chuck had blair, colette is the type to have found someone that sees and understands her, flaws and all, and still can't seem to stop fucking it up. whether by her own self destructive behavior or by pushing them away entirely she keeps making a mess of things and your character and she just keep coming back together all over again to try.
the corrupted — colette likes to collect people in some ways. she has a whole cadre of people she's used up and spat out for various reasons, but this one was more like a protégé. she took your character under her wing and taught them everything she knows and, in essence, destroyed the good person that they were a little bit with her own tainted means. taken by Daisy
the power three — this one goes for two characters and everyone will have to be on board with it. basically the ride or dies that don't actually have any intention of sacrificing for one another (even though they might if push comes to shove). these are the ones colette steps out on the town with and makes a ruckus, or the ones to join in on her business ventures. they'd be mean girls if they cared enough to be mean to people... or paid attention to anyone outside of their own bubble.
the betrayed — colette gave bad business advice and, whether it was on purpose or not, your character suffered for it. money lost, confidence ruined, reputation tarnished and colette's response was a shrug and an explanation that the business world is tricky and things can change at the drop of a hat. very contentious.
the frenemy — there are some people who come into your life and make you better by teaching you how to truly spite someone. your character and colette are close because of your school days and you've always tried to one-up one another, which has always fueled colette's fire to push the envelope. she might hate your character sometimes but she has absolutely no idea what to do without them to fight against.
anything in between — I am always up for plotting connections and routes for RP with colette you just gotta hmu!
So my best friends and I always make fun cake creations for each other's birthdays, and this year I made a request for the cake theme: NCIS: LA and/or Densi cake! (this friend is the one who got me into the show in the first place! And she's the one I made the croquembouche for last year.)
And boy, did she deliver! Densi adorned the outside, and "Sunshine and Gunpowder" filled the inside of this delicious, vanilla cake with lemon buttercream!
Since the only way I can work is by liveblogging the writing process, here's a rundown of the notable OCs in my A2A fic Fallen Angel:
(a lot of this info will probably never be mentioned in the actual fic since some of these OCs are very VERY minor characters who will only be mentioned once or twice, but I will know, and that's the main thing)
Somewhere Else:
The sentient void that Alex is lost in. It doesn't want her there and is trying to get rid of her by getting inside her head and exposing her to the horrors and hurting her, breaking down her soul bit by bit. What is the Somewhere Else? Who knows. It's ancient and all powerful and Alex messing about inside it refusing to die (so to speak. she's dead. but her immortal soul is still kicking) is messing with the very fabric of the afterlife. Is the Somewhere Else a sinister nightmarish form of God? Who knows. I'm the one writing this fic and I have no idea what kind of whack-ass horrific theology I'm inventing here.
DI Terrence Lyndon:
Some dickhead in Heaven who died peacefully of an unspecified illness with no significant baggage who never passed through Gene's world. A friend of Sam's ever since Sam arrived in Heaven. Thinks Alex is stupid and selfish for disrupting everyone else's afterlife just so she can try to escape Heaven, thinks Ray, Shaz, and Chris are stupid and irresponsible for continuing to stay loyal to Alex, and thinks Annie is a backstabbing cow for going behind Sam's back to help Ray and Shaz help Alex after Sam explicitly told them all not to do that.
PC Geoffrey Denton:
Died in the late 50s. One of the first coppers to join Gene in his world, and a good friend of his, once, though he suspects Gene has long since forgotten he even existed. Moved on to the Railway Arms before Ray or Chris arrived. Has been waiting a very long time for Gene to join him. Refuses to ever leave the bar though, just in case. Was part of Sam and Lyndon's Heavenly friend group, but honestly has got a bit bored of waiting around for something interesting to happen, and whatever the hell's going on with Alex Drake is the most exciting thing that's happened in decades, and he's thrilled to find out what happens next.
WPC Jennifer Field:
Died in the 1960s. Good friend of Geoff's. Moved on at the same time as him. Denies they're anything more than friends but also continues to sit at the bar every day just because Geoff is still there, so she's staying too. Was awed and impressed by Alex's great escape, but was only fully won over to her side when she saw Ray punch Lyndon in the face. She thought that was awesome, and if it was loyalty to Alex that caused Ray to that, and Alex basically breaking the afterlife that caused violence to even be possible in Heaven, then she's down to join in too.
DS Raphael Fitzroy:
Not a true OC, since this is my version of the iPhone guy from the finale, but since I made his name, rank, personality, and backstory up myself, he's basically an OC. Got pushed off a building by a criminal in 2010 and is now in a coma. Was a newly promoted DI back in 2010 and is unhappy to find he's now a DS again. Does not trust Gene at all. Knew of Alex Drake when she was alive, respected and admired her work, followed the story of her murder quite closely in the news. Has put up with a lifetime of people making fun of how posh and poncey his name sounds so prefers to go by either Just Raph™ or Just Fitz™. Gene naturally ignores this and makes fun of his name constantly. Is convinced Gene is the embodiment of some kind of infection on his brain, there to make him suffer and drive him slowly insane. Short tempered and easily frustrated but also has a tendency to freeze completely in the face of fear or danger, which is how his little accident happened in the first place.
DC Sarah Hawkins:
Another new arrival in Gene's world. Fell under a tube train in 2011 and was killed instantly, so aside from some oddly vivid dreams and an irrational fear of the tube, doesn't remember anything about her life or death or being from another time. Incredibly earnest, a little overly serious and doesn't really get jokes or sarcasm, but is very eager to please and desperate to be liked. Very much likes both Fitz and Gene and wants them both to like her, but her overly serious nature makes it hard for them to realise she's trying to be their friend, plus Fitz wants to go home and doesn't think she's even real so takes his anger and frustration out on her, and Gene is angry with her just for not being his old team and also taking it out on her. She's doing her best.
Bruno:
The new owner of the establishment formerly known as Luigi's. Some vague unspecified relative of Luigi. Young, tall, Italian, and eccentric. Runs the restaurant like he's not only never run one before but also like he's only got the vaguest idea of how they even work. Gene thinks he behaves like this is his first time in the real world and he's only just figuring out how to be a normal human. (Given the vague nature of barmen in this world, that very well may be the case, but Gene doesn't know that.)
