Angel HRT. Everyone thinks it's about the halo and the wings, and don't get me wrong, those are great, but it's more about the lack of free will.

You're a servant for your God/Godess that is so devoted that "servant" is barely the right word. Do you consider a car to be a "servant" for its human owner?

You're powerful and capable and Terrific, in the old sense of "causing terror", but you're no more a person than a hammer is. You're a tool for your deity, an extension of their will.

It's a sort of bodyguard dynamic, but closer to a guard dog, but on the far side. Dogs have more free will than you.

Think of it as a spectrum. At one end, there's the bodyguard. They're human, with free will. They serve because of devotion and honor.

In the middle, the guard dog. They serve solely out of loyalty. They're bit sapient but they're a relatively smart animal. Still, you keep them on a leash to keep them from causing trouble.

And at the far end, the Angel. They occupy the same position on this security/free-will spectrum as the gun. They're powerful, dangerous, but they're a tool. They have no agency, they are merely wielded by someone who has both agency and free-will.

In that way, angel HRT is a bit like inanimate object TF. It's just an animate object that is humanoid and clearly alive, but with no more agency than a hammer.

Anyway, to return to the spectrum, you don't need a leash for your bodyguard because you trust their judgment. You leash the guard dog because they have poor judgement. You don't need a leash for your angel because they have no judgment of their own, only yours.

(Though you can of course leash your angel if you want. For fun.)
