Hello ! Can I request Grace, Anton, Ben and Koleda with android female reader ?
Reader is Grace's "daughter", who was at first a robot designed to explose buildings, but was modified by Grace to have her own personality.
Reader is hyperactive, run everywhere, is talkative and like to explore hollows. Often alone. But she is not inoffensive. Since her main purpose is to explose buildings, when someone wants to harm her of her "mother" or friends, she is like "kaboom kaboom"
Thanks
GRACE, ANTON, BEN AND KOLEDA x Female Android Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
GRACE
Grace would be proud that she designed you, she also designed you to have your own personality even though you were designed to explode buildings and such
But You were quite the talkative and highly active type of robot, like Billy but as a female robot
She does get worried since you love to explore into hollows so she just chases after you whenever you leave the group
But she is proud to say that you are her 'beautiful daughter'
But you would go hay wire if someone even lays a finger on your 'mother' like any ethereal or any villains, you would explode them by your fire canons
she would be so proud and amazed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANTON
Him and you would explore the hollow together, since you love to explore he was like why not explore with you
He would listen to you ramble about your interests and other stuff, but sometimes he can't keep up with your hyper personality
He would tell you stories and other things to keep you interested
You two were a great duo, he was actually quite happy to have someone who is like him, he gives his thanks to Grace for creating you
He would fanboy over how you exploded those creatures by your fire canons, he would love to know more about you even if he did know so much about you anyways
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BEN
He's like a parent to you, always making sure you don't run off into the depths of the hollow that you two were exploring for the machines Grace lost
If you did run off, he would quickly grab you and carry you so you don't run away anymore
He loves to listen to you ramble but he would sometimes zone out, He would also try to keep up with you being highly active and running all over the area, he just doesn't know when you are going to stop
He would be surprised that your arm turned into a fire canons and exploded those who hurt him
Let's just say he would be scared of you of how you could turn into a happy and fun robot into a deadly machine in seconds, even though he is bigger than you and that he is a bear
But just remind him to never get on your down side
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KOLEDA
Since she is the president of Belobog Industries, she would tell you to sit down and you would listen which is surprising for the others
But she would let you talk and she would listen even if she is doing something, but she doesn't get how you got be so hyper all the time
She would shout out to you when you explore or leave the group when you guys are in the hollow
She would definitely give you lectures right after
She would tell Grace to keep you in check just in case, she doesn't want you to get hurt in one of the hollows
She would be shocked when she sees you explode those guys with your fire canon, but at the same time she would honored to have you stand up for yourself and protect her

the batboys' favorite male marvel heroes
Our golden boy, Dick, is a massive Spiderman fan. He’s not embarrassed in the least to admit it, and he’s also not worried people will think of him as just liking something popular. He has pretty good reasons to like Peter Parker and he’ll defend it to hell and back. He’s young, fun, and lighthearted. Heroic and smart and handsome and sweet and Dick can go on for hours and hours on that topic. At a young age, he sympathized with Peter for a number of reasons: they were both orphans, taken in by someone after this loss; even after all that pain they still grew up to be happy and joyful people to be around; both are very smart. As he grew into his super hero persona, they started sharing a whole lot more, like their flexible fighting style, the way they both deal with villains. And you’d often tell him they share the same bubbly personality. Also, Bruce used to spoil him rotten with spidey gifts. Comics, action figures, school supplies, spiderman shampoo and conditioner, towels… You name it, Dick has had it at home. Truly a spidey fanboy through and through. He also has a costume at home waiting for the day he can go on patrol wearing it.
Let's be honest here, we all know Jason would live for the anti-hero trope. Growing up, he’d always been drawn to more heroic types of antiheroes, like Wolverine for example, who’s hell bent on fulfilling his duty but does not live by the hero standards as some others do.  But after a certain incident with a crowbar and a clown, he saw refuge in the spirit of vengeance himself, the Ghost Rider. C'mon, a motorcycling maniac, whose body is completely covered in fire and who fights for justice no matter what? *side eyes a certain somebody* there's no way it isn't up to his alley. He’s in the comic store right after patrol, in the early mornings, to buy whatever issue was released next and reads it like it’s a Jane Austen novel. He also buys older issues, and keeps them wrapped and well stored like his precious babies and he ain’t letting anyone touch them. Perhaps with one dear exception, you.  Jay is into the classics though, if he had to pick between one out of all the riders he would have to choose the very first rider, Johnny Blaze. When riding his own bike, he’d pretend to be a rider, spitting lines he remembers from the comics and using them on random robbers he stops on the streets. Don’t talk to him about the movie though, that’s off topic.
Tim Drake is not one to pick “silly” heroes like his older brothers do. Or he at least pretends to do. He’s into the smart supes, with admirable brains and capacities well beyond imaginable. But he’s also a bit of a contrarian, so he won’t go for easy picks like Dick Iron Man. So when he sees a powerful AI turn into a nearly unstoppable android he instantly becomes a fan. Even before living with Bruce and becoming Robin, he would ask his parents to get him the new Avengers issue with Vision in it. However, unlike his brothers he’s very chill about it, he doesn’t feel like he needs to explain why his favorite is the best, or why they're a token of justice or a mad warrior. He knows Vision is good and that no one can fight him about it. He also wishes he could stay awake without the need for rest like he does, but he’d definitely miss the coffee.
Don’t really let anyone know it, but Damian’s favorite hero is his dad. But Batman is a real, flesh and bone man, so it won’t count here. He struggled to have a favorite hero, reading comics is “for children” and he’s too mature for that. He’s an adult. But when he caught a glimpse of Dick sleeping watching the new Moon Knight tv show, this boy got hooked. Not only is he a cool,  merciless fighter, he is also intelligent and has a cultural impact on him like no other. Marc’s internal conflict with all of his personalities feels like a reflection of Damian’s own troubles with his families’ contrasting ideals: is he supposed to be a deadly weapon just like his grandfather would want, much like Jake Lockely, or is he a nicer warrior-esque hero like Marc and his father? Anyway, that cape, Dami loves the hooded cape *see that, bats? much cooler!*

Surge, Trauma, and Toxicity in Shipping Culture
I didn’t think I’d ever have to make a post to justify my liking of a ship for the Sonic fanbase, but fine, I guess I’ll do that. This has been a thing that has been nagging at me for a while because of the toxicity directed at the ship in question, and accusations that it’s a pr0ship thing, when it isn’t. I’m writing this here because it’s easier to break it down without having to make dozens of tweets. It’s a long ass post, so it’ll be under the cut. TW for a lot of mentions of abuse, including a personal anecdote from myself. (PS: because I’m throwing this in the Surgamy tag, I’m going to tell you right now that I harbor no ill will towards you if you like Surgamy, and have no strong feelings about the ship itself. Like what you like. The point of this post is more to express frustration with the flimsy logic I see being used to justify treating fans of Sonurge like shit, and to explore why I personally like a ship.)
The long and short of it: I like the pairing of Sonic x Surge. Surge, for those unaware, is a tenrec character introduced in the Sonic IDW comics, and, in universe, was “created” to kill Sonic, alongside a Tails-like character named Kitsunami (Kit, for short, as I’ll be referring to him this way in the rest of the post). The reason I say “created” is due to the fact that she was a normal tenrec that got recruited or abducted (we still don’t know) by Dr. Starline, a platypus who is a huge Eggman fanboy and has a superiority complex. Surge and Kit were then bio-mechanically enhanced ala the Androids (namely 17 and 18) from Dragon Ball, which was done along side over several hundred hypnosis sessions (made more effective due to having the code that serves as the basis of Belle the Tinkerer’s cognitive abilities) to hate Sonic and his friends, and want to kill them. At least, that’s how it is for Surge. Kit was basically conditioned to be codependent on Surge, and to do whatever she wanted.
In the process, Starline erased everything that Surge and Kit were before they became Surge and Kit, which we can safely assume aren’t their original names. All that was left is the implanted personalities Starline grafted onto them via mental conditioning and the like.
From there, Surge and Kit underwent countless training programs to be able to fight at Sonic’s level, but naturally, it doesn’t go well a lot of the time. Thankfully, the two are nigh on unkillable due to part of the process that enhanced them (based on the Metal Virus from an earlier plot line). Unfortunately though, the training is still grueling and painful, and often lead to them breaking down emotionally and mentally under the strain, which Starline then blotted out by using his hypnosis on them. He himself says in an a video file that he made to document the process of making his Sonic killers that the hypnosis can only bury the memories, but has lasting side effects. Or in other words, it traumatized both of them, and left them with no memory as to how they were traumatized to begin with.
Why am I bringing all of this up in a post that is about a ship I like?
Well, because a lot of people like to point at Surge’s trauma as a reason why Sonurge can’t work. They say that Sonic himself is the root of the trauma, primarily because Surge herself says that if Sonic and Eggman’s constant fighting had eventually stopped (either by Sonic putting Eggman down permanently, Sonic being defeated, or either quitting the fight), she wouldn’t have had to endure the pain of losing who she was and wouldn’t have become Surge at all.
The problem with this argument is, fundamentally, that Surge’s trauma isn’t Sonic’s fault. It’s Starline’s.
To imply Sonic is the problem is fundamentally blaming the soil the seed was planted in for the root to form in the first place, which is passing the buck in a way that isn’t healthy. Sonic and Eggman may have been the soil Surge’s trauma grew out of, but Starline was the seed, and serves as the root cause of it. Starline is the one who ultimately put Surge through all of the trauma in the first place.
Saying that Starline’s motivation for creating and ultimately traumatizing Surge and Kit is the actual root of the problem is effectively saying “your abusive spouse hit you because they got into an argument with their coworker, so blame the coworker! You wouldn’t have been hit if that didn’t happen!” Saying that his desire to beat Sonic and prove himself superior to Eggman is just a convenient way to look past the actual abuse, and the actual source of Surge and Kit’s trauma. It’s placing the blame at the wrong person’s feet as a way to cope, and it’s not healthy in the slightest.
Yet Surge does this anyway. But why? Because she can’t readily lash out at Starline beyond a certain point. Starline (supposedly, as I remain unconvinced despite Ian Flynn saying otherwise) dies. When your abuser dies before you can properly process your trauma and the feelings that come from it, it becomes easier to blame others for your plight, rather than begin properly healing. Doubly so when the abuse just abruptly stops after being intense, and you have nowhere to direct those negative feelings. Those negative feelings feel normal, and now that they have nowhere to go, you feel less normal, and that leads to misdirection of those feelings to cope.
Surge even takes it one step further with the Dynamo Cage, a not so subtle drug abuse allegory. She craves the power and sense of control it gives her. But you want to know the one side effect that points to Starline being the problem, and not Sonic? She has audiovisual hallucinations of Starline taunting her. Calling her weak without the power afforded to her by the Dynamo Cage. That she’s nothing without it or him.
To open up about myself for a minute to hammer this next point home: about 2 years ago at the time of writing, I was savagely beaten by some drug addled dude. It left me with a busted up face (including a broken nose I reset myself in the height of the adrenaline from the fight or flight response)... and a whole lot of mental scars. I had reoccurring nightmares about him, and I still sometimes have a hard time leaving my house because I don’t want to bump into him out of fear he might try to kill me. It’s something that only recently started to calm down, but it’s still something I grapple with. Didn’t help that I had to deal with domestic abuse growing up that also left some mental scars, but those had mostly healed before that whole ordeal tore them open again.
I bring up my personal experience for a simple reason: Starline appearing as a hallucination that only Kit is able to pull Surge out of? That is the big, blinking red neon sign pointing to Dr. Starline being the source of Surge’s pain, and not Sonic. Why? Because if Sonic truly was the source of her trauma, why didn’t she see a mocking image of Sonic taunting her weakness? Why didn’t she hallucinate him?
The answer is simple: Sonic is not the source of her trauma. Starline is.
As an abuse survivor, it seriously twists me up inside seeing people online twist Surge’s trauma as somehow being Sonic’s fault. The thought is absurd to me, as I can see how Surge is acting as purely an unhealthy trauma response, fueled by the anger and sadness that her life had become filled with as a result of Starline.
To me, when she says that she can’t be free as long as Sonic is still alive, it’s her failing to acknowledge the actual source of her pain. She’s emotional, angry, and is freshly aware of all of the bad stuff that has happened to her. The wound is still bleeding, and the fact that Sonic has, in her eyes, teamed up with Eggman to stop her only rubs salt in the wound. She was conditioned to kill him, and that’s all she has left now that the person who made her that way is dead, so she’s lashing out in the only way she feels she can in her hyper emotional state.
To me, it reads as a cry for help that she genuinely doesn’t believe will ever be heard. And that stings, because I’ve been there.
It’s easier for her to blame Sonic, and to chase the rush of power that the Dynamo Cage gives her, because she has control of that. But in the end, both her and Kit failed to reconcile that with Starline gone, they are free. And probably won’t for a while. To them, as survivors of a shared trauma, the world is their enemy, and they’ll lash out at anyone and everyone they see as liars. See also how Kit reacts when learning that, as far as Sonic knows, Surge is gone. He quickly decides that he needs to help Sonic, because he wants to feel needed. When Surge turns out not to be dead, he calls Sonic a liar, when Sonic had no idea Surge wasn’t dead.
These are two people who have been so deep in the trauma that they stopped questioning whether or not it’s normal, and instead choose to react negatively to people who could help because it’s not what they want.
Eventually though, I think both will come to understand that Sonic and his friends have no intention of hurting them, or forcing them into anything, because that’s not how those characters are. I would be deeply disappointed in Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley if they chose to not give Surge and Kit the treatment they deserve, and would condemn them both publicly, and even to their faces if the chances arose. My personal traumatic experience fuels this view of the characters, so you can say I’m projecting a bit, but that’s besides the point.
The other thing that people like to do is say that their relationship would be toxic or abusive... which only makes me angry. Primarily because, as I’ve established, I view Surge as a victim of abuse, and to suggest that victims of abuse continue the cycle of abuse is, in my honest opinion, cruel and full of shit. You’re implying a lot about how you view victims of abuse by suggesting this. Even if you stretch it and say “well, she was abused by someone who made her hate Sonic, so naturally a relationship with Sonic wouldn’t be healthy” is writing off Surge as a lost cause trauma wise, and is again a misguided view of how trauma works.
Then there’s the people who say all of this while shipping Surge with Amy or Kit with Tails... only for those dynamics to be functionally very similar. Kit is made to effectively kill Tails. Surge and Kit actually tried to kill Amy (along with Jewel, Tangle, and Belle) via a forest fire. Surge said she wants to burn the world down and basically kill Sonic’s friends... yet they somehow think that Sonic is the actual problem here, and that if Surge is a lesbian or Kit is gay that it suddenly changes the rules.
This fundamentally leads into a broader discussion about how the LGBTQIA+ community has an unhealthy view of ships of that variety, and how even straight people that like ships like those have an unhealthy view of the subject too. To keep it short though: if you think that Surge trying to kill Amy under Starline’s orders is somehow not similar to Starline brainwashing Surge to hate and want to kill Sonic because Surgamy is a queer ship, then you’re part of the problem with queer shipping discourse to begin with. Instead, you’d rather call people who like Sonurge “pr0ship” and plug your ears while being toxic to those that do like it. It’s pathetic, but I’ll spare the details about how I feel about queer romance in fiction and fandom’s response to it later in a more dedicated post once I know what I want to say on the subject.
I’ve yet to see someone who ships Sonurge in a pr0ship way. Most people who ship it enjoy it because of the dynamic that comes from them being enemies to lovers, or even how the ship allows them to explore Surge’s trauma through her relationship with Sonic, and just like to see Sonic be the kind, supportive character he’s always been deep down.
To call it pr0ship is to imply that you think people who ship it are doing so because they like toxic relationships or whatever, and I’ve yet to see any evidence that people ship Sonurge do that. Instead, I often see it decried because it doesn’t allow for queer Surge or Sonic ships (Surgamy and Sonadow come to mind), or it otherwise gets in the way of more popular het Sonic ships like SonAmy. It just comes off as a poor excuse to justify disliking a ship, or just disliking people having a different opinion than you.
If that’s you: grow the fuck up, and let people who want these two specific spiny rats kiss in peace.

My Examination of MasakoX's "Android 18 Made Me SO MAD [ RANT]" Video
youtube
A very good video. Only issues I have is that he (& maybe others) mention scenes from the DBS anime continuity, then talk about the DBS manga continuity as if they connect. They do not. Here are 3 main points I want to address...
MasakoX skipped over the fact that the manga version has always been insulting Krillin & K18. Anime had Ribrianne insult Krillin's appearance and 18's love for Krillin, then 18 proved Ribrianne wrong (& the K18 haters Ribrianne represents) by kicking her butt with the power of love. The manga events have Ribrianne give Krillin backhanded compliments, 18 doesn't defend him, no power of love. All done by Toyotaro just to insult Krillin.
MasakoX misremembers GT (as many do). That one scene where 18 cries over Krillin? Thats nice and all when out of context. In full context, GT 18 (& GT Marron) treated Krillin bad in almost every scene they were in up until that point. Krillin dying after that was more so 18 feeling regret for how bad she treated him.
MakasoX says it is Toyotaro AND Toriyama's fault. In a way it is. But its Toriyama's fault due to him not being very involved in the DBS manga. Toriyama is more involved with the DBS anime while he is mostly hands off with the DBS manga. HOWEVER, Toriyama tried to correct the Ribrianne insult that Toyotaro put in the manga. (The link mentioned previously) The truth is that Toyotaro is a Krillin hater (as MasakoX eluded to). Toyotaro is to blame for the constant mischaractization of Krillin & 18. And Toyotaro being a GT fanboy is the reason for this. GT 18 contradicts what Toriyama wrote in the original manga and what we see in the DBS anime continuity. Toyotaro's innacurate charactization of 18 & Krillin reflects the GT version's innacurate charactization.
So with full understanding...
Toriyama is rarely involved in the DBS manga continuity.
Folks need to remember to point out the continuity differences between the DBS anime & DBS manga.
Toyotaro (a GT fanboy) is a Krillin hater who sabotages Krillin's characterization as well as mischaracterizing 18, making 18 more in line with her out-of-character DBGT counterpart.
Toyotaro has mischaracterized Krillin & called him weak, cowardly, hideous, & now a cheater. And Toyo has innacurately depicted Krillin as weak, unskilled, & cowardly.
For some reason, MasakoX and others refrain to put most if not all blame on Toyotaro. Maybe its because they lack a little information (not an insult to them) or because they know they have DBS manga fans & Toyotaro fans in particular who are subscribed to them so they dont place the blame on Toyo as much? One of the two or a bit of both possibly.
Regardless, good video. If MasakoX was more informed about certain GT scenes & differentiated the DBS anime & manga continuities, it would have been a great video.
Also, I DO NOT hate MasakoX or Geekdom101 or some others. I give constructive criticism which means I point out the problem and offer a solution. If I offered no solution, I would simply be a hater. That's not in my nature. But other content creators who hate on Krillin and blatantly lie then try to cover themselves when I present undeniable evidence that they are lying? I don't hate them either. I just feel nothing for them. Hating is an emotion and shows interest in a person. I have no interest in those people. They are nothing to me. Even less than an gnat.
EXTRA:
Krillin is a pervert who suppresses his desires. So, 18 suspecting Krillin of wanting to cheat makes some sense. Gotta remember that Krillin called Videl cute (twice) & 18 gave him a look.
Tumblr media
18 just doesn't want her perverted husband looking anywhere else when she & her infinite energy can provide him whatever he desires. Would Krillin cheat? No. He is a character that is very loyal to not only his friends but his wife too. Plus if he did, 18 would kick his butt. Another reason why he wouldn't is because 18 has insecurities & traumas. Krillin wouldn't want to hurt her in any sort of way. But with how Toyotaro hates Krillin... yeah. That was to make it seem like DBS manga Krillin has another negative attribute about him.
I'm sure some of y'all have watched videos about how the Japanese culture views cheating & how men often cheat or go to a prostitute. With that in mind, 18 hearing Krillin talking to a woman references Japanese culture. But it's just weird that 18 didn't know Sergeant Nutz was his boss after he had worked under her for at the very least half a year. As most things Toyotaro does, it's written without much thought for a wack joke & doesn't make sense.

While the suit is on, he has super strength and he can absorb energy and neutralize it. The suit is able to produce a wide array of arnaments, like wings for flight, cannons and shields.
He's a massive dork, something he and Socqueline have in common.
Jessica Keynes-Hill
Hero Name: Green Lantern
While accompanying her mothers Barbara, (Better known by the world as Doctor Strange) and Olympia Hill (better known as Iron Woman) on a mission, she was given a Power Ring by a dying alien. Barbara taught her how to control the ring, and now she uses it to create objects she can use to save the day.
Jessica has a chip on her shoulder, she's keen on making sure she's seen as a grown up in her mom's eyes. This has given her the reputation as the mom of the Titans. She's also pretty good on the guitar and even made a theme tune for the team.
She's very protective of her teammates, especially Aeon.
Aeon Keynes-Hill
Hero Name: Vision
A android created by Olympia, powered by the Mind Stone, which gave her sentience. She's able to hack into nearby systems, shoot lasers, fly, and access information from her database.
She's a total sweetie, always fascinated by humanity, and wants to keep everyone safe. Not even Fei can be snarky around her.
Aeon's always down to help her sister and moms with missions.
Delmar Stahl
Hero Name: Falcon
The son of President Camilla Stahl, a.k.a. Captain America. He has a military wingsuit that he uses to fly and shield people from harm. He has a drone named Hombee for a friend.
He's got half of the super strength his mother got from the serum, but he still trains to keep fit.
The chillest and most charismatic nerd you'll ever meet. Him and Sabrina are dating.
The Titans
The Teen Titans live in Titans Tower, which is located in the center of Paris. Fei permanently stays there.
They frequently work with the Bat-Heroes, and both groups know eachother's identities.
They also work with heroes in New York such as the Avengers (The group led by Captain America, Iron Woman and Doctor Strange) and Ghostforce. They also work with the DigiKnights in Shanghai (Lian Le, Kang Shuunko and Jiao Guang,) and The League of Ladies (Lady Blue from Rio, Lady Tiger from Tokyo and Lady Lion from Dakar)
While they mainly operate in Paris, they also cover open spots of France that are unoccupied by the Bat-Heroes. Both groups go on international missions.
And there's the Teen Titans! Obviously taking heroes from both Marvel and DC, and you'll be seeing more of them. Let me know what you think in detail via the comments and reblogs. Also lemme know your headcanons if you can. @artzychic27 @msweebyness

If there was a Inside Out 3, what would it be like?
(Poster Edit by Me/App on Android: PixelLab)
Like we already got how Sadness and Joy were lost in the first movie, than Anxiety taking control in the second film, I think I the third should be about Riley is ready to go to college next Thursday, and then, nine new emotions appear to take over Riley's mind, the names would be Love, Courage, Surprise, Pride, Trust, Suspicion, Frustration, Shaudenfreude, and the dark emotion himself, Spite. The nine emotions cannot handle it when Riley develops a new crush onto the new boy and that's where things get serious when Spite takes the eight new emotions in his control and uses Love to make Riley's crush into love madness.
As Spite gets rid of our nine heroic emotions out of their jobs, it's up to Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, Anger, Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment to save Headquarters and go through place to place in Riley's new developed mind, which is practically now a Mindtopia. And it means it'll be a lot more tricky.

Sora Eddie Kai
Inspired by 70s - 80s Mecha.
Has ties to Getter, Mazinger, Kotetsushin, Combattler and Daimos.
Half Japanese, Half Texan.
An Android, Former Human.
Chaotic sweetheart, may have more than one braincell but doesn’t show it, comedically dramatic, competitive & righteous.
Close friends with Koji, Kenji & Hyoma.
Is constantly babysat by Kazuya.
Kazuya: Let me introduce you to my adopted so—   Sora: *Hyped up screeching in the bg*
Between them. Somehow he’s the one holding back Hyoma and Kento in any situation, keeping his “baby brothers” on a leash.
Treats his mech like a harmless puppy even though it’s capable of destroying cities and it’s Jurassic BIG.
Is either a genius inventor or created his mech “for fun” .
Robots go brrrr.
His laugh is just wheezing (he’s not out of breath but probably needs an inhaler) .
Known to seclude himself in his workshop, so much so that he ended up making a fort to sleep in instead of his room.
May have collected the mech sets of LMK & Ninjago, and vintage figurines.
Has an alter ego that is triggered by extreme stress or protective reactions.
Definitely squealed/went HYPER FANBOY MODE when meeting Ryoma.
He’s basically a Golden Retriever/Husky mix on the inside.
Loves frozen treats like fruit & ice cream, and warm creamy soup.
It’s possible there might be more to the relationship between he and Koji than a close friendship but it’s not really clear as it’s also unrequited.
Tears become ink/oil if angered.
Is lowkey scared of the Getter Team (it’s all good and fun, dw) .
Sora: *Detaches his arm* Need a hand? 😂 Ryoma: *GAGS*

Alien: Romulus
Tumblr media
It wasn’t perfect, but I liked this quite a bit. Structurally it’s very similar to the original Alien, which would put it in danger of feeling like merely a nostalgic franchise retread, à la The Force Awakens, except… they actually pulled everything off well here. I loved getting to see the bleak, hellish state of the colony world; the classic analog set design that felt functional and lived-in; the bone-rattling breakthrough into orbit; the pure claustrophobic dread of exploring the derelict station; all these gorgeous shots of the planet’s rings… it’s just some solid fuckin sci-fi.
Tumblr media
I also think it’s a noteworthy accomplishment to have maintained the same tone and aesthetic as the original Alien movies despite being a modern film - here they used the budget to expand the scope, rather than change up the style like Prometheus did. A lot of the setpieces are creative as hell - rather than feel the need to make a dozen new monsters, they found new and interesting situations to put the classics in. The facehuggers stalking through the water, the xenomorph’s cocoon, the zero-G acid blood obstacle course - they’re all clever twists on Alien without having to further convolute the lore.
And then… the last 15 minutes happen. Was this the creators feeling the need to further differentiate the movie? As if they preemptively heard fanboys complaining that they didn’t ‘do anything new’, and took it as a challenge? Either way, I found it simultaneously exploitative (the shock value ‘birth’ scene) and dumb as hell (the humalien). Plus, it draws even more attention  to Romulus’ most distracting plot hole: the way-too-rapid gestation of its xenomorphs.
Tumblr media
The other weird failing here was the usage of AI to try and deepfake the android - it looked and sounded like shit. Look, just trust an actor to recreate Ash’s line delivery, okay? And no offense to Sir Ian Holm, but it’s not like his face is irreplaceably unique - walk down the street and find another white guy that bears a passing resemblance. It’s not a big deal, guys.
Tumblr media
Our other android, fortunately, gets by far the best writing and character arc in Romulus, and David Jonsson acts the shit out of the role. From a pure visual standpoint, Andy’s OS update in the cryo room - with all its weird timelapse jitters - may have been my favorite moment in the movie. When I zoom out, it doesn’t sit especially well with me that the only Black actor’s role ended up being a subservient android whose mind was ultimately downgraded again because it’s ‘better for him’, but when the character is this well written and well acted, it’s hard for me to be too upset about it.
Tumblr media
“How could I do what? Leave someone behind?” coldest line in the gd movie

ALIEN: ROMULUS (2024)
Starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, Aileen Wu, Soma Simon, Bence Okeke, Viktor Orizu, Robert Bobroczkyi, Trevor Newlin and the voice of Annemarie Griggs.
Screenplay by Fede Álvarez & Rodo Sayagues.
Directed by Fede Álvarez.
Distributed by 20th Century Studios. 119 minutes. Rated R.
There have been nine Alien-based movies in the 45 years since the 1979 classic space horror film. (That is, if you are counting the two super-silly Alien vs. Predator movies, which I am.) That’s coming up on an average of a movie every five years for over four decades. The problem is that only the first film is a bonafide classic, and only the first sequel Aliens is also an above-average film. Since Aliens came out in 1986, that’s over 30 years of Alien movies which have essentially been sort of a disappointment.
In fairness, the Alien series has fallen apart simply because they were trying to change things up too much – advance the mythology of the creatures and build a world where they could exist. However, unless you are an absolute fanboy of the series, it all kind of got boring. (As much as I respect the original Alien, I would have been perfectly content if they finished the story there, or at the very least after Aliens.)
Thus, to me, there is really very little reason for Alien: Romulus to exist. It’s not exactly a good film, although it is one of the better Alien movies. However, it is simply fan service, some rather blah characters and a rather uninteresting storyline tossed in the midst of a gaggle of frothing aliens. Alien: Romulus feels more like you are watching someone play an Alien themed video game than experiencing an actual storyline, and yet this constant sense of motion does keep it exciting and scary.
Interestingly, unlike most of the other sequels, it stops trying to do something new and just goes back to the vibe of the original, with the volume and pace turned up to eleven. It’s actually because of this lack of ambition that Romulus kind of works. Alien: Romulus is like watching a tribute band cranking out energetic, if slightly detached, versions of a classic band’s greatest hits. It’s not seeing the real thing, but it’s a mostly pretty fun simulation.
Alien: Romulus takes place sometime between the first two films in the timeline of the series. It revolves around six miners on a permanently dark, dystopian planet whose lives are made miserable by the infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation – which exploits their labor and holds them down and squashes their basic humanity (although one of them is a humanoid robot).
The leader of the group is Rain (Cailee Spaeny), a miner who felt she had earned her freedom only to have the corporation snatch it away from her, blithely doubling the time needed to be spent working to leave the planet. She has a robot friend Andy (David Jonsson), who seems almost like an autistic child, but he has become like a brother to Rain. The other characters are Rain’s boyfriend Tyler (Archie Renaux), Tyler’s pregnant sister Kay (Isabela Merced), their cousin Bjorn (Spike Fearn) and Bjorn's girlfriend Navarro (Aileen Wu).
They decide to try to hijack a giant old spaceship which is hovering well above their world. They think they can commandeer the vessel and fly it away to a distant colony where they could be free. This idea would have to work, right? Because there is no bad reason why the corporation would just leave some massive piece of technology just floating like a cosmic ghost town. And it certainly wouldn’t be full of aliens, right?
With the exception of Spaeny and Jonsson’s characters, the people here are pretty one-dimensional alien bait. Spaeny comes as close to a Ripley (Sigourney Weaver’s character in the first episodes) type of hero as there is in the film, even though she looks like she’s about 14 years old. Jonsson’s conflicted android character is also inherently fascinating, although when his programming is changed to make him more of a corporate stooge, he becomes less intriguing as a character.
Honestly, the creepiest part of Alien: Romulus – and not in a good way – was the appearance of an AI-generated version of late actor Ian Holm in his android character from the original film. (Although the android was named Ash in Alien and Rook here, so maybe he’s just supposed to be just playing the same model of robots.) I suppose that it’s technically impressive that they could make a major supporting character using an actor who died in 2020, but honestly it always looked and sounded kind of fake and lifeless. (Granted, he is playing a robot.) I hope this isn’t the wave of the future unless the technology is greatly improved. Honestly, even if they figure out how to do it perfectly, it feels morally and artistically wrong, and honestly kind of ghoulish.
And, honestly, the climax references more from Promethius (the fifth film in the series) than the first two films, and that is a disappointing choice for the filmmakers. However, on the most basic level, Alien: Romulus does work – as a revved-up nostalgic funhouse version of the thrill ride of the first two Alien films. So, like I said, while there is no real reason for Alien: Romulus to exist other than greed, it does a pretty decent job of putting together a bright, shiny story stoking the hardcore fans, which is better than the last several entries in the series can say.

MY ADVENTURES WITHSUPERMAN REACTION
EPISODE 1:
Why is child Clark wearing glasses? He has no identity to hide yet unlike in Birthright. Other than that Baby~ and the S!
His alarm clock has a rooster on it
He’s a bumbling, nervous klutz because of his powers not because he’s trying to hide them. Being an adorable nerdy dork is just a bonus
“I had to save a cat” The writers understood the assignment
Clois meet cute
Look at Babygirl trying to flirt
Lady, you work with food, you shouldn’t put your shoes on the counter
Clark is such a Babygirl~ eating three dozen donuts so often the bakers got him his own bib
Little park Roomba
Ok I’m still not onboard with the whole race swapping Jimmy and Perry but I will give them this they made Jimmy an oblivious conspiracy theorist (why does our alarm clock keep exploding) at least it’s a personality besides Superman fanboy and Perry’s personality is spot on
Every buyer or fencer disappeared, wonder why that is?
Patty, I love you
If you're trying to be inconspicuous don't have a convoy of garbage trucks run a bunch of red lights
So, Metropolis is an island in this earth
Clark calls Lois out on using people and lying about it, and she admits she was wrong and grows as a person
Is Clark infused with nanotech?
Oooh oooh animation error his tie is in the rubble when Clark stumbles into frame he isn't wearing one but after Lois hugs him and apologizes it’s miraculously there
So, there’s no police or media coverage for the giant mech fight destroying the docks? And Perry has no interest at all?
EPISODE 2:
So, the baby sized pod grew under the fields, is it using the natural minerals in the earth? I mean it's been there for decades and nothing grew there
“I don’t think that’s a language from earth, son.” It sounds like a bunch of romance languages put together so Esperanto?
I don’t blame baby Clark for being scared that shit would be terrifying to a child
Flamebird, I understood that reference
What eyewitnesses at the dock, no one else was there but you
Jimmy trying to set up Clark and Lois together
Jonathan feigns stomach problems to get out of dodge, so that’s where Clark gets it
“It grew” so the spaceship is getting bigger, how big, will it take over the whole farm, the entire state of Kansas?
“I need to find out who I am, Ma.” “I know who you are, you’re my son.”   oh my heart
Well, that’s different from a bunch of crystals
Jor El’s reaction when Clark says he doesn’t know him
Magical Girl nanotech transformation suit
Ma Kent getting Clark pants so his dick won’t show
Deathstroke is giving Lotor vibes not old bitch that gets his ass kicked by teenagers
Where was Leslie hiding those shoulder pauldrons?
Is Leslie fused with Krypton electricity nanites or something?
So, Leslie’s tech was also Kryptonian and that means those “military” mechs were also alien in origin and that spaceship battle and giant portal opening in the sky was pretty ominous, was that Clark’s wormhole or something more sinister? And does Clark just have a connection to all Kryptonian tech since he’s presumably infused with nanites? And does he still get his powers from the sun or is it the nanites, or do the nanites just enhance it?
Amazo billboard, is that just a reference or will the android show up later?
Clark cleans up his mess because he’s a good boy
So, it’s not going to be a Magical Girl transformation, he can change it like normal clothes
Dammit Jimmy they were about to kiss
Cat Grant, a gossip columnist, stole the byline of the downtown anime fight, so the rivalry begins
Les-Lie Willis
Oh, shit it’s Amanda Waller
now to wait a week for Episode 3

Star Trek: Picard, s3e6, “Bounty”. Spoilers follow:
The Good:
Yaaaaay! Geordi!
Yaaaaay! Data (kind of)!
Yaaaaay! Troi (barely)!
Yaaaaay! La Forge family bonding!
Yaaaaay! Moriarty (kind of)!
More Vadic, finally
Yaaaaay! Voyager (also, like...the Enterprise-A, I guess)
The twist with what was stolen from Daystrom was actually really clever and unforeseen, especially since everything that Terry Matalas has said left me with impression that he really didn’t want to touch that plotline with a ten-foot pole
Shaw is a Geordi fanboy (because of course he is)
Actually, let’s just add that to Geordi’s Improbable Friend Tally, shall we?
An Android
A Romulan Centurion
A Borg Drone
Barclay
Captain Shaw (most impressive of all)
Just the expression on Seven of Nine’s face when Shaw is actually really ingratiating to Geordi
The Bad:
What sort of tepid bullshit Saffi reunion was that? What, were they afraid of putting anything overtly gay in the first six episodes in case they got a bad review from The Cr*tical Drinker or some other alt-lite shithead on YouTube?
Section 31 is a criminal conspiracy. It is not a critical aspect of Starfleet Intelligence
Moriarty was tragically wasted
You mean to tell me that Starfleet still hasn’t devised a countermeasure to a hundred-and-twenty-year-old Klingon cloaking device that they’ve had in their possession for over a century?
Jack continues to be vortex of mediocrity and “loveable rogue” cliches
And I agree with Geordi; he should stay away from Sidney
Apparently the Changelings have grown out of that whole “No Changeling has ever killed another” phase
So Starfleet has one of the most sophisticated androids ever built. They know that he’s sentient. They keep him unconscious and use him to guard a warehouse.
Actually, come to think of it, how did they even persuade the Coppelius Androids to give him up?
Actually, come to think of it some more, why do they even have Picard’s body in a classified weapons blacksite?
Random Thoughts:
I was joking a few weeks ago when I said that Vadic’s boss was played by Tom Hardy, but I honestly think that it would make a hell of a lot of sense of Shinzon was behind it. Like, he needs Picard’s genetic material; that was his whole thing.
So we all agree that Irumodic Syndrome clearly isn’t the thing that’s really wrong with Jack, right? Like, that’s a misdirect? Irumodic Syndrome doesn’t make you see tendrils or red doors or whatever
Is that really Deanna? I assume that Riker will be skeptical at first.
I look forward to having Riker and Deanna on Vadic’s ship so that she will at least have someone to talk to in something besides clicks (What even is with her Click-Men?)
Is there any chance that we will get to see an awesome moment with Deanna where she brutally deconstructs Vadic’s whole personality?
