The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle is the last book i finished. phenomenal book. absolutely wonderful on a craft level. It pushes the reader to question the role of a black main character in an american horror, pushes the reader to question what constitutes horror is for black americans, and in that push answers your question for you, delicately, carefully. Deserves all the praise it got. Recontextualizes one of the most racist lovecraft stories and shows the character of Black Tom's humanity even as Black Tom tries to leave humanity behind. also. sentence level? so fucking good. down to the sentence it's so good.

Star Trek: The Next Generation. I simply don't Watch things these days, unless we count youtube, in which I have watched Drawfee's "Driving from Washington to Mexico for Charity" to cope with grief bc omg you do not need your brain for that. it's comforting. and also my roommate is obsessed with Azerbaijani Village Cooking Videos and points out different foods and how like the ones he grew up with they are and how they differ from Georgian and Russian preparation and consumption and he tells me the names of the food and what they taste like. so we watch that almost every night if i dont fall asleep first.

my own work tbh. my poetry, my fiction, my paintings. trying to get better. i suppose outside of that. hm. my interest is turning toward gay nuns as of yesterday with a Realization of christian religious trauma being more real than i thought. im looking at "Immodest Acts", "Lesbian Nuns: Breaking Silence", "Scorched Grace: A Sister Holiday Mystery", and im hoping "Sisters of Sorrow" is gay bc if its not what the fuck are you doing. but i cant delve into them all yet nor buy them yet. and im trying to prioritize my TBR.

Hmm, it’s very interesting that some people in this fandom are so adamant about the fact that Andrew will never/can never heal beyond what he already has by the end of the books.

There have already been posts about this so this isn’t anything that anyone doesn’t know, but guess who’s gonna say it anyway? Me. 

Nora Sakavic gave us a wonderful world, and a cast of wonderful characters. She did, not a single person is saying that she didn’t- we all love the Foxes, and she did a pretty good job giving us some lovable characters to get us attached to her work. But, and it is a big but, she made a lot of mistakes while writing the series and just because you love the series doesn’t mean that you can’t criticise her on the many mistakes she made during the writing of aftg. I’m sure she knows that she could have done things differently/better too, so some of y’all are helping exactly no one by frothing at the mouth to defend a book series that she wrote six years ago. Anyways, next.

Andrew in particular is a wonderful character. We all know that. He went through hell in his life and despite that we see him working and striving for happiness and good mental health in the series, prioritising his own mental health over the feelings of every other person in the series (for better or worse, but either way it is an attempt at allowing himself to heal). In fact, I would go so far as to argue that the main theme of the entire series is healing, regardless of how well Nora executed it. Andrew is healing, Neil is healing- All of the Foxes are healing from the tough hand that life gave them, facilitated by Wymack and his foxes programme. 

That being said, Andrew’s work is far from done by the time that the series is over and it’s worrying when in the extra content we see that Nora seems to think that it is, that Andrew can’t possibly smile and be happy and fully heal from what happened to him as much as is possible. It’s disheartening- Nora made this character that so many people can relate to, that so many people can look at and think hey, he’s like me and made him work his ass off to get better, and then still had him fail at the end? What the fuck kind of message is that? It’s no secret that Nora’s research into mental health and it’s treatment left a lot to be desired, but the least she could have done was make it work, to give Andrew the happy ending that he worked so hard for and deserved. It’s unfair to show the people who read this series that no matter what Andrew is never going to get better, no matter what he does, especially under the guise of “uwu everyone recovers differently”. Yes, everyone recovers differently, but with hard work and a good support system everyone can recover. 

Next of all, marriage. In my opinion andreil get married, because that seems like the most in character decisions that Andrew and Neil could make as they move into an adult life together. Some people might not agree with that, and that’s fair enough. Headcanons are headcanons, and I don’t really care about that. What I do care about is when people, fans of this series, turn around and then use their HEADCANON of Andreil not getting married (on purpose or just implicitly) to 1. Cheapen the importance of same sex marriage because “not all gay people have to get married” and 2. Act as if Andrew could never possibly want to get married (which imo is out of character- Andrew is a man who loves not only promises but also spectacle, do you really think he wouldn’t want to promise Neil the rest of his life in the most fuck you to the rest of the world way possible?)

No one is saying that Andreil have to get married and every other headcanon is wrong, not that I’ve seen, but it’s oh so telling that the “Andrew never gets better” squad are the ones who are denying Andreil any and all forms of intimacy beyond sex, i love you shown only though actions and not words (why would Andrew not use the words? It’s never said that he’s a man of few words so people are ONLY going off the ec with this) and the odd jealousy/protectiveness fueled emotional moments of vulnerability. You have every right to say it, that Andrew will always stay stagnant and unhappy and angry at the world, but that doesn’t mean that anyone has to listen to you- healing is GOOD, recovery is IMPORTANT and Andrew deserves it. All of the foxes do.

Okay I’m gonna stop this here bc it’s getting super long and I have to go to work but I’m not interested in what anyone else has to say. I don’t want to hear any hot takes about how actually Andrew stays the edgy, angry 19 year old he was at the start of the series, I’m not interested. Andreil are in love and they deserve to do everything and anything they choose to to show it, have a nice day.

I really wish the aftg fandom didn’t take Kevin, Neil and Andrew, three well rounded characters, and turn them into these one dimensional beings in their posts :/

Kevin went from a traumatized boy who obviously has alcohol problems and has had it unhealthily engrained in his head that exy is the only thing that matters and y’all went “haha the sad anxiety man likes a sport too much and drinks big kid drinks all day”. ??????????

Neil went from a boy who has severe trauma from burning and burying his own mom, having no regard of his well being, deathly afraid of grown ass men, and always searching for an exit to “the small ginger boy doesn’t know how the Internet works and he’s practically a dumbass” as if Neil didn’t try to kill Riko on live TV. As if he didn’t care when Seth died. As if he doesn’t know multiple languages. He’s not some fucking soft uwu boy he’ll kill you and won’t regret it.

And Andrew is a man with sexual assault trauma along with taking the wrong meds that makes him damn near manic every hour of the day and yet he did an exy game while going through withdrawals and missed 13 out of 150 goals, making him one of the most strongest comfort characters out there and y’all had the audacity to be like “haha the little man with no emotions is basically a cat” like ????

I just wish I’d see more headcanons where Kevin is finally getting more hobbies besides exy. He could take up knitting to calm his anxiety or he could tap his chip from AA before every game for good luck. I wanna see Neil buying things he wants and not just what he needs and I wanna see him realize it’s okay to care about himself. I wanna see Andrew opening up his heart to others again, smiling, laughing, apologizing to others for what he’s done (cough cough pulling a knife on Nicky and choking Kevin cough cough), and progressing with Aaron in their relationship.

I want to see them get better bc they deserve to get better yknow?

It had been barely a week since you met Andrew at the barn party, and he hadn’t stopped thinking about you since.

You had a certain kindness, a warmth in your eyes, that made his heart skip a beat and filled his nervous stomach with butterflies. He could barely stand to look you in the eye, as much as he wanted to, and he always prayed to god you never noticed. All he ever wanted was to impress you, to keep you, to see you smile at him and ask him how he was doing.

The way you met was enough to make him fall in love in itself- he was crying outside, alone with nothing more than his camera. Then came you, you with your ripped tights and chipped black nail polish, you who asked if he was okay and asked again after he swore he didn’t hear you right. It was you who sat with him and talked for an hour, telling him that things would be okay, listening to him spill everything he had been holding in for so long. And when he’d stopped crying, when you had to go home, it was you who uncapped the black sharpie with your teeth and wrote your number on his arm to “talk to me whenever you want- even if it’s not about deep stuff.”

Now it was him, sitting in your bedroom on your bed, his face beet red and flushed with nerves. He was trying to listen to you talk about the album that was playing after you slipped it into your pink CD player, but all he could focus on was how pretty you were, god how pretty you were, and how he didn’t have the guts to contribute much more than a “that’s cool” to the conversation. Thankfully, you didn’t really seem to mind. You were good at keeping the conversation going, asking him questions and bringing up new topics when you knew he was too shy to bring them up himself. Occasionally, he’d have to remind himself of how surreal it was to be sitting in the bedroom of a cute girl, after she had invited him to come over and play Mortal Kombat. The feeling never fully went away, but there were times where he forgot, and could feel himself grinning and being pulled more and more into the conversation and the ease that you tried your hardest to give him with a warm smile and random “are you okay?”s and “are you having fun? We can do something else if you want.”

There was a moment of brief silence while he looked at you, your favorite album playing and being muffled by the noises in his head. He suddenly found himself blurting out the words that has truthfully been on his mind all week.

“Why did you talk to me? At Haven Hills.”

You paused, glancing at him briefly and pursing your lips. Truthfully, it was more of an impulse decision when you noticed him crying on the wet grass. He looked so alone, so miserable. There was something about him- maybe just something about people who were in pain- that made you want to make him happy, and make him feel cared for. He looked almost like a reflection of yourself from the days when you felt so isolated and deflated. The separation from the crowd while they danced inside a place that you never really felt you belonged in.

“I don’t know- you were upset, and I wanted to make you feel better.” You told him. “You looked like you needed a friend.”

Andrew hesitated, furrowing his brows and staring down at the carpet, thinking. “So… Is that why you invited me over, then? You just wanted to make me feel better?”

“Of course not,” you replied. “I wanted to hang out with you because I thought you seemed cool. And you are- y’know… Cool, I mean.”

Andrew’s frown faded, being replaced with a shy smile. “Thanks,” he mumbled. “You’re cool, too. I mean… really cool. Way too cool to hang out with me.”

“Dude, are you kidding?” You grinned at him. “You’re awesome, Andrew. You’re funny, you’re sweet, you’re almost as good as me at Mortal Kombat, I could go on.”

Andrew giggled, making your heart skip a beat. God, he’s pretty.

The two of you hung out at your apartment for hours, switching between videogames, baking cookies, and talking about anything and everything. Once Andrew had relaxed (as much as he could, anyway) and felt more comfortable talking about himself to you, you both realized you had a lot in common- but it was when the sun fell behind the trees and stars lit up the sky that you started to talk about more than just your music taste and favorite movies.

You only had one lamp in your room, a bulb without a shade that sat on your bedside table. You were both tired and done for, lying on your bed on your backs under the dim yellow light. Andrew was playing with the loose threads of his sleeves as he stole little glances at you, always flicking his gaze back to the ceiling before you could catch him. You had seen him staring at you all day- you weren’t stupid, and you could tell when someone was into you. You’d seen the way he looked at you, and the way he got flustered when you looked into his eyes and teased him. He always looked so cute like that- blushing and smiling down at his hands in his lap whenever you complimented him.

“I, um…” Andrew started, clearing his throat. “I’ve had a really nice time… by the way,” he mumbled quietly, stealing a quick glance at your facial expressions a couple times.

“I’m glad.” You beamed, turning over on your side to look at him. You nestled your hands under your cheek. “I’ve had a lot of fun, too.”

Andrew hesitated before mimicking your position, turning to face you. You could see his face was dusted with pink, avoiding your gaze. There was no denying that your faces were awfully close to one another, so much so that you could smell the soft scent of his cologne and he could smell the flowers in your shampoo. His skin looked so soft, void of imperfections, and his hauntingly blue eyes were constantly looking everywhere but you. It wasn’t an insult- far from it- you knew it was because the closeness made him nervous.

“I’ve never really done anything like this,” he blurted out, his eyes moving up to yours for a second before returning to your checkered bed sheets.

“Done anything like what?” You asked, raising a brow.

“Had friends,” he said quietly. You could feel your heart sink in your chest as he said it, furrowing your brows and pursing your lips involuntarily. “Nobody ever asks me to do stuff like this. My cousin Matt drives me to school and picks me up, but he doesn’t even say hi when he sees me in the hallways. He invited me to that stupid fucking party at Haven Hills and then he just ditched me. No one’s ever just… taken the time to talk to me. To get to know me.”

You had always been a very empathetic person, and hearing him talk about his life and how people had treated him nearly made you tear up. You wanted to pull him close to you and hold him, or caress his cheek and brush his hair out of his face, but you were afraid of coming on too strong or too quickly. You just wanted to comfort him in any way you could.

“Well, that’s fucking stupid. I love hanging out with you.” You grinned at him and his pretty blue eyes drifted up to meet yours, a smile replacing the previous frown on his lips.

Every time he looked at you, heard your voice validating him and assuring him you enjoyed his presence, he could feel himself growing more and more attached at an unsettling rate. Andrew was undoubtedly an obsessive person, and you were making it increasingly more difficult to not be obsessed with. You were so caring, so endlessly kind and sweet to him, something no one had ever bothered to do.

“I… I really love hanging out with you.” He mumbled and smiled brightly down at the sheets below him, unable to contain the excitement that was building in his chest.

“I mean, I- I really like you. You know, as a person. I mean, um- if… Unless you…” He was stumbling over his words with his heart pounding in his chest. He didn’t mean to let those words slip, a string of words that he’d never really confessed before, whether it was more obvious or not. Everything about you just made him so nervous and so happy all at the same time.

“You like me?” You smirked, looking him up and down. “You got a crush on me or something, Andrew?”

His lips parted in shock as he looked up at you with wide eyes, which didn’t last long as he couldn’t will himself to maintain the eye contact. His gaze flicked down again, then side to side, trying to think of what to say. His face was beet red at this point, and his mouth was dry, still attempting to form the right words. Come on, dude, he told himself. Just say something.

“Uh… A pretty big crush on you- yea.” His voice was quiet and airy as he smiled. He bit his lips as he looked up at you, gaging your reaction. He was terrified that you’d make fun of him, that he ruined his chances of even just being friends with you. What if you were just making fun of him? What if you were just kidding, and now he ruined everything.

“I’ve got a pretty big crush on you, too,” you replied, beaming.

He could feel his heart stop in his chest as a bright smile spread on his face. His stomach was filled with nervous and excited butterflies as his eyes flicked up to yours quickly. “R-Really?” He opened his mouth and closed it, hesitating on his words. “Like… you’re being serious right now?”

You giggled and nodded. “Of course,” you told him. “Dead serious.”

Andrew bit his lip as he looked down, his eyes slightly darting from side to side. He felt so happy, so pleasantly surprised, that he didn’t know what to say. But as he looked back up into your eyes, and your gaze flicked down to his mouth and back up again, all he could think about was how badly he wanted to kiss you. You were so close to him, with your pretty pink lips and soft skin. There was a hesitation in the air, a thick layer of silence and anticipation as you both met each other’s eyes.

“Can I kiss you?” You blurted out, a slight tint of pink settling on your cheeks.

“Fuck, please…” Andrew breathed before you immediately leaned forward and pressed your lips against his.

Andrew had never kissed anyone before- he had thought about the moment he would for so long, always worried that he wouldn’t know what to do. And at that first second, he was frozen, his heart thudding in his ears with a vulnerability he’d never felt before. But once the feeling had sunken in, his mouth moved instinctually against yours.

Your hand had moved up and settled on his cheek, the warmth of your skin against his sending electricity across each of his nerves. His stomach was doing somersaults as he kissed you, trying to teeter on the line between letting himself move naturally and trying his hardest to not fuck up, to not do anything weird, to not accidentally bump his teeth against yours.

When you pulled away and smiled at him, he could feel himself melting into the mattress, a dopey grin on his face. He was sure his cheeks must have been red, and he could still feel the heat on his face that made it hard for him to look at you- but god, he loved looking at you. And you loved looking at him.

“Can we… Can we do that again?” He mumbled, avoiding your gaze before hesitantly looking up into your eyes again.

“Fuck, you’re so cute…” You teased, before pressing your lips against his once again and settling into the feeling.

That feeling that would never get any less euphoric over the following years.

The Crown S5E9 Commentary

Non-Spoiler Review: THIS EPISODE!! This episode had the Peter Morgan writing I have loved for The Crown since S1 and that went all out in S4. I’ve been missing this spark all season and he FINALLY got it back after 8 episodes - s i r why. So far, this and Mou Mou have been the best written episodes of the season. We deserved more punchy episodes like this especially in highlighting the media war between Diana and Charles. But phew what a way to showcase the end of their marriage. I really really loved the writing of this episode!

I always appreciate how Peter Morgan uses other people or events to parallel against what's happening in the family at the time. It's just such a clever narrative device and works every time!

LOVE VICTOR SEASON TWO THOUGHTS

Overall, I thought this season was messier, more adult, and just better than the first. Emphasis on the messier. I was pretty surprised that they dealt with so many mature topics, some maybe not as well as others. Anybody who thinks that victor is better if with rahim than benji is wrong. I also think that the writers also know that. Benji is such an interesting character, and the alcoholism aspect adds so much more depth and I wanted them to explore that but instead we got some haphazard apology for them not understanding each other. Benji is not toxic, some of yall really just learn a word and run with it. Hes just a teenager, and he’s imperfect. His relationship with Victor is imperfect. I want to see them work through their issues, not abandon them the moment things get complicated. I think it would be really interesting if they talked about the cultural divide between POC and white gays. (Side note: I also didn’t like the way Benjis actor delivered the “what does it matter that I’m white” or whatever line. That made it seem like he felt personally offended, and it made his character less likeable).

I dont know why they made Rahim a love interest at all. We could’ve gotten a queer POC friendship but instead we got an awkward love triangle nobody wants to watch. He suffers from horrible dialogue, but he’s still interesting. I hope the writers don’t throw him aside in S3.

I had hoped Pilar would’ve been gay, but fine, Felix is fine. Their relationship was super rushed, but fine, whatever. I also liked the mom subplot a lot, though it was handled a bit strangely. Maybe Matt would get the hint and stop talking, but Andrew didn’t expect it. He hadn’t known these kinds of headaches were called “migraines” until his first year of college, and then he’d had far more dramatic physical effects to deal with. This was just– an inconvenience. Another part of the pain that came from being Andrew Minyard.

Matt was still talking. Andrew tried to figure out the best thing to throw at his head, but thinking made the winch around his temples tighten sharply.

“Like, withdrawal sucks, okay? And Aaron– you left him alone for that, no warning, or nothing. And I kind of– okay, like, when you had to go through withdrawal, for a while I thought it was kind of karma. Which probably makes me a bad person, or whatever. But then I…. like you didn’t…. you’re so much like Neil.”

Andrew slit open his eyes to give Matt an unamused glare. Matt’s face was blurry soft-focus, and even then Andrew could feel the worry radiating off him, the care.

“Not everything is the same, man. You don’t have to be in pain to get better. Like, yeah, it’s part of it, but it’s not like it’s the important part? It’s like, a side effect.”

“Are. You. Done,” Andrew said. He loosened his jaw. Bee had told him that was supposed to help. It didn’t. 

(If Neil was here he would make Andrew lie down in their bedroom with the lights off. Without him, Andrew stubbornly stayed on the couch. He was aware he was throwing a tantrum, thank you very much.)

Matt sighed. There was a rattle, and something small hit Andrew in the arm. Andrew could guess without looking that it was the bottle of Aleve Matt had plucked out of the cabinet and been trying to foist on Andrew for the last twenty minutes. 

“Just take the pill, c’mon. It’s not dependence. It’s literally a painkiller they give to teenagers.”

“Teenagers.”

He could hear the wince in Matt’s voice. “Bad choice of words. Look, I’ll even stay to feed these greedy furballs while you go take a nap. Can’t let my favorite kitties in the whole world go hungry, huh? Yeah, sweetie, oohhh, you want scritches? Let’s have some scritches.”

“She’s just doing that so you’ll give her treats,” Andrew said. He fumbled for the bottle’s safety cap. Maybe he’d just open it. In case he changed his mind. Later. Not that he was going to. 

“I don’t know man, maybe she deserves them for having to deal with your grumpy ass who refuses to do anything for a literal migraine.”

“Get out of my house,” Andrew said. Matt laughed, softly. From his lap Sir began to purr, and the lawnmower-motor sound didn’t hurt as much as the whine from the TV. Maybe Andrew would try lying down after all. Just to get Matt to stop bothering him.

This right here is singlehandedly one of the best Diakko scenes in the entirety of LWA and it’s not even technically a Diakko scene since Diana isn’t even present in it—but look. 

Just watch this and listen to how Akko speaks about Diana like she knows her better than anyone else, even better than Andrew who has actually known Diana since they were kids. Listen to the sheer amount of emotion in her voice as her body visibly shakes with each word. The only other time Akko has spoken this passionately about something was when she was talking about her dreams and Shiny Chariot. But watch here as she gets so inexplicably overwrought at the idea of Diana, a girl who wasn’t even her friend at this point, leaving Luna Nova. Like, if following her to her home wasn’t enough, this scene just absolutely cements that Akko cares about Diana so much more than she was ever willing to admit and I will never get over it. 

I know the handhold scene later in this episode always gets the highlight, but this? Yall, this scene is so good it deserves to be projected from the heavens.

Let me interrupt this olicity/felicity bashing moment to throw some knowledge your way.......

1. So yes it was off for felicity to interrupt the wedding like that but honestly I am sure Barry and iris didnt care. Especially since technically they made it through most of the wedding stuff. I mean they have (like olicity) have been married forever now. And for the record let us not forget olicity had a sorta wedding so equally its a continuation for both. Also, if you really like the shows you know this moment goes with "guys like us dont get the girl" it works well. P.S. I don't see iris and Barry being the type to not have a little reception afterwards.....

2. So yall are saying olicity stole their shine but that's not true at all. Legit they opted to not do vows because they did not want to over step what Westallen had to say. They were really just saving time from it all. They all just want to be married and get it over with. Do the important part and be done. They are superheroes and have the smallest amount of time in the world. Yall get mad they do things other than superhero but when they get through things because they are superheroes yall mad......yall can't have that cake and eat it too

3. Everyone likes to call Felicity selfish but praise Iris...I like both characters. However, track record shows Iris has done selfish things just like Felicity. I am confused by that claim because countless times Felicity has risked her life for the team. Including in the crossover. This girl legit almost got injected with drugs, paralyzed, almost death by speedster hand, bombed, shot at, lost a company.....the list goes on. Yes she is a strong minded person but to say selfish I think is much. She has saved soooooo many people across the arrowverse. Same goes with iris. So yes the writers do suck sometimes but don't ruin strong women characters (that are very rare) for the silly moments of writers who try to depict real emotion they are learning. No one is perfect.

Overall thoughts; they really crammed all the North High drama into one ep huh. Personally would have liked it if all of this was spread out throughout the last few episodes; like different hijinks for every episode. I'm just a big fan of properly setting up the overall arc over the season instead of patching it together closer to the climax/end of the show. Cos now it lowkey feels like two different seasons - 2A felt like The Rini/Rina Show esp with YAC storyline and whatever was going on with Rina and now 2B is finally feeling like what this season should have been all this time

like from season 1 i had this vision of how i wanted s2 to play out

fp was gonna find out fred was shot, alice was gonna go visit him in jail about it or theyd meet up when he got out and they were gonna team up to avenge fred. thats what shouldve happened ok fight me. THE ONLY APPROPRIATE F*LICE INTERACTION

and then fp was gonna take care of fred. they were gonna work on their relationship. shit was gonna get dramatic but it was gonna be beautiful because ultimately they would realize theyre both the best friends each other ever had and they were better together than apart. 

and thats how the whole black hood thing would be dealt with and we never had to hear about it again

and then with the introduction of hiram and everything going down with the lodges buying freds company + fps dealings with hiram and hermione in the past and the bad blood there that was just...completely dropped... fred and fp were gonna come up with this master plan to screw over hiram and get the company back and then theyd go back to working construction together and happy days would be on the horizon. 

with that being said.... hiram and hermiones storyline this season is honestly the only interesting worthwhile thing. im not mad at it

im a little mad at archie joining the mafia like for one, anyone who knows anything about mob culture, you dont let outsiders in. and if you do, its not that fucking easy. its like “run some errands for me let me put you through some tests. ok youre family” no. i mean i get we’re on the cw but this was really the ...not even pg13 this was some g rated mob shit on archies part but whatever

i called from the beginning that chic was gonna be up to some bullshit and the narrative thats going right now with hal being painted as the bad guy and running off to penelope and alice running into fps arms is absolute utter Garbage™

what SHOULDVE happened (and granted the story is still playing out but lochlyns got a new show and thats very sus to me so... im expecting the worst) is chic comes in all innocent at first and maybe hals still put off, reasonably so, but this clearly means a lot to alice so he sticks it out. and as chic lets his freak out and the family has to deal with this, they grow closer and become more bonded and alice and hal become stronger as a couple and when all is said and done they eventually decide to go to couples counseling or family counseling and everybody works out their bullshit and they all start their journey to becoming a stable fucking family unit

ok now penelope. she’s another one that im actually for the most part enjoying her story but this whole hal business?? unrealistic

what they needed to do was just let her have her ho business and live her life

and also tell cheryl to stop running her mouth

like i really dont need them to have a great relationship personally like fine if they did whatever but cheryl kinda annoys me so penelope telling her whats up is no skin off my back

oh and this whole homophobic business? NOT IN MY SEASON 2

or if they really wanted to keep this contrived ass heather story to give cheryl some depth or whatever, then the least that could happen is it be revealed that penelope is gay herself and was scorned by an ex lover (alice) and was taking it out on her daughter

and then that could come to light and they talk about it and penelope eventually accepts she’s gay and she can be open about it now and she goes on to get herself a beautiful rich powerful girlfriend and my girl pen is set bitch !!! (i will also only accept alice and hal breaking up if alice too comes out and ends up with penelope)

they start to notice how fucking happy theyve been together theyve both become so playful and intimate with one another

theyre at pops one night having milkshakes

fred has whipped cream on his face

fps trying to tell him where but fred keeps missing it

theyre both laughing

fp reaches over and swipes his thumb softly over the corner of freds mouth

their laughter starts to die down as they both realize theres still this spark of electricity between them

its been sitting there under the surface this whole time waiting to blow up

next thing they know fps leaning over the table to kiss fred 

its soft and sweet and gentle but filled with such passion and urning its been so long since anyones touched them like this and god all the memories of their secret high school hookups come flooding back its like no time at all has passed they just fit together so well

ANYWAY now that fps with fred and this whole north v south thing is going on its creating a whole bunch of tension and like imagine all the drama that would come from the leader of the serpents dating riverdale mayor fred andrews oh my god ??? sign me the absolute fuck up where is THAT iconic storyline
