Okay I have time to describe why this post looks like peak Tumblr to me.

So there's the original post which is just an empty attractions sign, and the first reply to it is "welcome to my blog", obviously implying the joke is that their blog has zero attractions for you to see. I know this is obvious, but it's part of the point I'm making.

If this wasn't obvious to you though, meaning you've missed the joke, the obvious way to "miss" this joke is to say something like: "But the sign doesn't have any attractions on it? I don't get it, what does this have to do with your blog?" This is how you would respond to this post if you didn't understand the joke, or at least this is how you would normally respond.

But in peak Tumblr fashion, someone missed missing the joke and instead replied with something both random and yet on point like: "the sign looks like it's walking towards me". I'm sorry? What does that even mean? We've skipped over relevant context into absurd territory. Signs don't walk. What do you mean this one looks like it's walking? Who says something like that?

Someone on Tumblr, that's who. They just shoot straight past the obvious in favor of the absurd, every dang time. And I just think that's neat.

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol

Sometimes I’m reminded that in universe Chilchuck is an actually influential figure who like. Made huge advancements for his people and community. Like as in gave them rights and protections. And who is widely known by half-foots because of that. Like. He’s not just some guy.
