Music blared within the walls of the Meeks-Martin home.Pulsating bass made the walls vibrate, while twinkling lights danced in perfect harmony with the music. The teenagers, with glasses in hand, abandoned themselves to the frenetic pace, letting themselves be carried away by the wave of euphoria that permeated the air.

The attention of my eyes was magnetized by the presence of the girl who had already captured my attention for some time: Tara Carpenter.

The brunette wore an adorable and sexy pirate costume, her hips swaying to the beat of the music asa smug smile printed on her lips as she felt her boyfriend Chad's hands roaming over her body.

I squeeze the glass tightly, causing the beer to fall to the floor.

—Hey!- I turn towards the sound of the voice and see Mindy giving me a dirty look —You ruined the carpet- she says desperately and I snort at her exaggeration.

—she hates you- Mindy says sing-sonically and I roll my eyes at her comment.

— from hate to love there is a subtle thread- I say with a small smile, my finger wiping away the lipstick that simulates blood on my lips.

I turned my attention to Tara Carpenter and skillfully avoided an idiot carrying a barrel of beer on his shoulders.—I'm sorry- he apologized hastily and I forced a fake smile.

—It's alright- I muttered through gritted teeth and the guy grinned widely, showing off his white teeth. The song "Make you mine" by Public starts playing and the guy raises his free arm to the sky, shouting as he walks towards his friends.

I rolled my eyes and saw Chad whispering something into Tara's ear, making her smile. Meeks-Martin walked away from her towards his football team friends.

It was my moment.

Like a predator, I kept my focus on Tara's figure as I walked through the crowd, trying to get as close as possible. The brunette held a glass in her hand,swaying gently to the music. I bit my lower lip and positioned myself behind her wrapping my arms around her waist.

—You're back already?- Tara asked with a smile, and I bit my lower lip to refrain from shouting in excitement. Tara's body relaxed against mine as we swayed together, making me smile widely.

I knew I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't easily give up.

—Everything okay?- she asked timidly and I nodded against her neck, making her sigh. Tara tilted her head to the side and I smile mischievously thought it was the right time to make my presence known.

—With you by my side, everything's wonderful- I said seductively and Tara's body tensed up.

The brunette freed herself from my touch and turned abruptly towards me, giving me a dirty look. —You- Tara clenched her jaw, her eyes narrowing emphasizing her hostility towards me.

—In the flesh- I ran my hands along my body and Tara gave a quick glance before looking at me with annoyance.

—What do you think you're doing? Touching me as if I'm not already taken?- she asked calmly, and I shrugged indifferently.

—You didn't complain- I justified with a smirk, making her grunt in annoyance.

—I thought you were Chad- she confessed, and I looked at her with a smug smile, irritating her even more. —As if you didn't notice feeling two smaller arms- I said timidly and she huffed annoyed.

—I hate you- she muttered through her teeth and I smiled even more.

I leaned towards her and her eyes observed my movement carefully. I licked my lips and she shivered noticeably at our proximity.

—I know you like me- I said hoarsely and Tara shook her head. her hand rest on my chest to push me away.

—No- she whispered and I smiled timidly.

—Come on, Tara... Stop denying it- I said softly, and the brunette shook her head making me angry. —Stay away from me- she said seriously, slipping out of my grasp and heading upstairs.

I closed my eyes and groaned in despair.

Without thinking twice I went upstairs and looked for the pirate, seeing her enter Chad's room. I sighed loudly, anger boiling in my veins as I entered behind her tired of the flirting situation.

I locked the door.

—what the hell are you doing?!- Tara Carpenter lets out a yelp of surprise feeling my hands around her waist making her back slam against the door. —I just want the truth- I said calmly and looked at Tara curiously.

The brunette breathes loudly, our noses touching.

—I want Chad- she says calmly. Her eyes trail down to my lips and I smile wide catching her in the act. —You can do better- I say shyly, her hand gripping her hip.

Tara seemed to hyperventilate at any moment.

—and would that be you?- Tara laughs mockingly but her attempt to ridicule me fails miserably. —Yes-I confess in a low voice and Tara tilts her head to the side, analyzing me carefully.

—I hate you- she murmurs, swallowing her saliva loudly, avoiding my gaze.—Say it looking into my eyes- I say seriously, mentally preparing myself for her answer.

Tara looks up and her brown eyes stare into mine with superb attention.

—I...- she begins and swallows her saliva loudly, her  teeth clenching her jaw. —I ...- she repeats again and sighs with frustration.

—to hell with it— Tara grabs my face and pushes me violently against her, bringing our lips together abruptly.

I sigh against her mouth and squeeze her waist tighter, bringing her closer to my body. The brunette's hands roam along my body making me smile and feel shivers of excitement. I increase the intensity of the kiss wanting to literally merge our bodies and I let myself be carried away by the carousel of fantastic sensations that are circulating in my body.

—I knew you wanted me- I smile widely knowing I have gained her attention.

Tara pulls away a little, her gaze mixed with desire and uncertainty on her part.—I can't... I shouldn't...-

I look at her intently, trying to grasp every nuance of her mood.

—You don't have to worry about should or could- I reply firmly, moving closer to her again. —We just have to follow what makes us feel alive, at least for a moment.-

Tara hesitates for a moment, but then she abandons herself to the kiss again, letting herself be carried away by the whirlwind of emotion that envelops us. Our lips move together in a synchronized kiss as my hands slowly roam her body.

I slowly undo the strings of Tara's dress and the brunette raises her arms, making the gesture easier for me. Our lips connect again as Tara walks towards the bed in the room, resting her back on the mattress.

I break the kiss and see Tara's eyes completely hooded with excitement, a shiver runs through my body.

I get lost in her facial features: full, perfect lips, long eyelashes, freckles and such a damn sexy smile.

—Shall we take this off?- I say in a hoarse voice and Tara nods weakly, taking off her dress. My mouth waters at the sight of her body covered in underwear.

I bring our lips together again and start attacking her neck making her sigh loudly.

you're not sure when you first noticed that something was off. a little over a few months ago, maybe, if that. you couldn't say specifically. you weren't really looking for it in the beginning. 

it started small, like passwords being changed without your knowledge, phones being screen facing down when you were around, texting “clients” more than the normal amount. you knew once she said you could stop coming to the deals that you knew something was up.

one thing you established since the beginning of dating dani is that you would come along to all the deals. you would sit in the car, never going inside, but you were still there. she reluctantly agreed after a long conversation about it because of her insisting that she didn't want you coming along in general, only to assume every time that you were coming with for the deals. 

she would wake you up in the middle of the night if one of her clients called and was desperate for something, asking if you wanted to come with, but that if you didn't want to she would be okay and text you. there was only one time you didn't because you were exhausted after a long day at work, and she texted you basically every five minutes to tell you that she was okay and that she would be back soon. you were awake after the third text because it was literally within twenty minutes she had left the house. she ended up bringing you back some food and a milkshake from sonic as an apology for waking you up. every other time, you went along. so for her to suddenly out of nowhere say you shouldn't come along anymore, that was the one thing that made you know something was happening. 

you tried not to think of it the first week. you didn't even want to think about any of the different scenarios that could be happening. you would sit on the bed as she left in the middle of the night, wide awake wondering what was happening or would happen with you not being there. your mind first went towards the possibility that she accidentally got into some deep shit and was keeping you safe by keeping you home. that was the best one in your brain, even though it could easily end in her getting hurt, or worse. but, after a conversation with one of your close friends, another possibility was brought up. 

you really didn't want to think of the second possibility. the thought alone made you nauseous and want to cry, and you couldn't go more than five minutes without thinking of it again. you didn't want it to be the truth. you tried so hard to believe otherwise. even past all the late nights she was out, past the “forgetfulness” she had, past the way she brushed you aside at times. 

a lot of the nights when she was out for deals, you stared at the wall trying to decide what you should do. you could up and leave without bothering to talk it out, but you couldn't ever do that. you could try and talk it out with her and see what happens, either getting a lie in response or breaking up. or, you could follow her and see what's going on. you didn't want to have to go to that solution, but the longer it went on, the more you wanted to.

so, you did.

she didn't wake you up when she was asked to go out in the middle of the night for a “deal”, but you would wake up anyway as soon as she got up and started moving around. you waited until the front door was closed for you to get up and grab your phone, slipping a pair of shoes on and following to your own car.

one in the morning, and you're following your girlfriend's car like some kind of stalker. you almost turned around when you thought about how stupid it all seemed. but, part of you was desperate for an answer of some kind. if you were wrong, okay, you would find a way to figure it out. if you were right…you hadn't really thought of what you would do then quite yet. you still didn't want to believe it. you wanted to be wrong so badly. to know you were just overreacting is far better than finding out she was seeing someone else in the middle of the night. 

you pulled into a side street and stopped the car, watching her car stop in front of a house. you turn off your car completely, the headlights turning off as you see her get out and walk up to the house. she disappears inside within a minute, and you let out a quiet sigh. you tap your fingers on the steering wheel anxiously, looking at the time on your phone. if it was a normal deal, she should be out within ten minutes at the max. if you waited this whole time and she didn't come out, then that would be a problem. 

you waited in your car for those ten minutes, resting your head on the steering wheel trying not to panic, losing track of time as your brain went on and on about what was likely happening. when you looked at your phone again, it had been well past half an hour. “fuck,” you curse to yourself under your breath. you lean back into your seat, rubbing your hands over your face trying to decide what to do now. you can't just walk up to the front door and knock, expecting it to open. but you couldn't just sit here and dwell in your car at the same time. 

just when you're unlocking the door to get out, you hear the familiar laughter that you hadn't heard in months. you look and see dani walking out of the house, pulling her hoodie over her head as she stumbles down the few steps to her car. a girl follows behind her, stopping in front of the car as dani gets in. you can't hear what they're saying, too far away to even try and comprehend it, but you can see as clear as day when dani leans her head out the window and kisses the girl. 

your grip on the door handle tightens as you watch the girl go back into her house and a second later, your phone dings. you don't bother looking at it, getting out of your car and slamming the door closed. you don't know what you're doing as you stomp over to dani’s car, all you know is that you have a feeling how this night is going to end.

“daniela avanzini, what the fuck is wrong with you?!” you didn't think you’d be yelling already, but when you stop in front of the car and see the surprised look on her face, all you feel is anger.

“yn? what-what are you-”

“don't you even try saying anything right now!” you interject. “this is what you have been doing every other night?!” 

dani stares at you with wide eyes, mouth agape as she tries to come up with a response. she’s never seen you like this before, and her mouth runs dry at the sound of your voice. “i- you have to understand, baby-”

“don't!” you point a finger at her. “don't pull that shit on me! i have been sitting here for the past forty-five minutes worried thinking you were in deep shit with some fucked up people just to find out you're fucking some girl?!” your voice is getting louder and more angry as you yell, stepping away from the car when dani opens the door and gets out. 

“yn, just listen to me,” dani says, but it falls deaf on your ears as she tries to lie terribly. “i didn't- i’m not cheating on you! i would never do that!”

“bullshit!” you take a step back every time she takes one towards you. “you think i haven't noticed these past few months? how you just up and leave in the middle of the night without telling me like you said you always would? how you changed all the passwords for things without telling me? how you don't let me even spare a glance at your phone anymore when you were the one who said this relationship was built on trust? if you lie to me one more fucking time, daniela, i swear!” 

your ranting has dani backing down without knowing what to do. she was dumb to think you wouldn't notice the little things. you were smart. far smarter than her. she was the stupid one for even trying to do it in the first place. “i-” she starts, but can't get anything else out. “i’m sorry,” she manages. “i’m-i’m sorry, yn, you have to listen to me,” she reaches out for your hand, but you pull it away before she can grab you.

“no, i’m not listening to you lie again!” you shake your head. “you have barely even looked in my direction for months, so why the hell should i listen to you?” you ask seriously, your arms flailing in the air. “do you- do you even know how much i’ve done for you these past two years? i’ve done fucking everything! i'm the one packaging your orders for your fucking clients, i’m the one counting all the money and making sure you don't get fucked over during tax season, i’m the one who makes sure that you don't get killed every time we go out! do you even understand that?!” you poke the temples of your head aggressively as you look at her. 

“of course i do,” dani responds, her voice quiet compared to your loudness. “i love you, you know that-”

“do you, dani?” you cut her off before she can continue, watching the way her face drops at the question. “because every time i look at you, it's like you're somewhere else. you don't look at me anymore, you look past me. you-you don't ask how i slept in the morning anymore. you don't l-look at me li-like you used to. y-you don't even talk to m-me unless i s-say something first,” you start stuttering over your words, tears welling in your eyes as your anger fades into sadness. “i don't know what you want from me,” you let out a stifled sob. “i do ev-everything i can, a-and it's still not enough.” 

daniela feels her heart break at the sight of you crying, and it makes her feel even worse knowing she's the cause of it. “i do,” she whispers. “i do, i swear, i do, yn.” she tries to reach for your hand again, a quiet whimper coming from her when you step even further away. “baby, please,” her voice comes out nearing a beg as you shake your head, taking more steps backwards to your car. “yn, please listen to me.” 

“i’m not going to listen to you anymore, daniela,” you wipe the tears from your cheeks. “just- leave me alone. go back to the apartment. i'm going to sophia’s, she already knows i’m on the way.” 

“yn, please,” dani pleads. “please just-just let's go home a-and we can talk this out, okay?”

you shake your head again. “no, daniela. we're not talking this out. you had months to try and talk this out, you didn't. it's not my problem,” you tell her. “don't try calling me, don't text me.” you turn around and start heading back to your car.

you ignore dani calling your name repeatedly as you get into your car and turn it on. you waste no time to drive off, leaving the latina standing outside alone begging for you to come back. you manage to get to sophia’s without crashing due to the overwhelming amount of tears in your eyes, and the second she pulls you into her arms you're breaking down crying. 

in the end, you both slept alone that night. daniela curled up on the couch passing out from crying so much. you slept in the extra bedroom of sophia’s place after staring at the wall for hours on end. she tried texting you throughout the night before she fell asleep, but you didn't answer. you saw the messages and read them, but you couldn't find it in you to answer. 

you wished it was a dream. that you would wake up back in the apartment and everything would be fine. but, when you woke up, you were alone, in the quiet bedroom without her next to you for the first time in two years.

- It was definitely a surprise for Amy when she first met you. She managed to stumble upon you just by chance she didn’t mean to. Seeing someone with her looks sort of at first kind of weird her out I mean if you were to see someone who just so happened to look like a demonic version of you you’d be freaked out as well, right? But at the same time she’s oddly flattered that you chose her out of everyone but still slightly weirded out. She didn’t want to get into any trouble from you so she just decided to leave you alone and prayed that you won’t do anything to bother you. Luckily for her you wouldn’t but after seeing the actual Amy who you based your form off of you couldn’t help but grew curious towards her. What was she like? Oddly enough even though you didn’t know why you wanted to get close with. So without much thought you eventually found her and decided to attempt to have a somewhat conversation with her.

- At first she was slightly panicky wondering what you were doing here but once you managed to calm her down then explained yourself about why you were here and just wanted to get to know her she managed to calm down and decide to at least hear you out. Surprisingly she actually enjoyed hanging out with you, she was interested in getting to know about your existence and powers. Now getting to know you a bit more she honestly didn’t mind that you just so happened to be a somewhat look-alike of her. She was more than happy to accept you for who you were, no matter what you were or what you do.

- After developing a friendship with you she pretty much treats you like all her other friends. She treats you with respect and is often very happy to see you come visit her. Sometimes she finds the simplest things to do just so she could have an excuse to go visit you, even if it means she’ll have to change plans with sonic and the others. In return you made a vow to protect her with your life. If you found someone being rude to her you immediately went into defense mode and personally made sure they would learn a lesson. Maybe it may cost them their life depending on how ‘kind’ you were feeling. But you made sure to keep those things away from her to not make her worried about what people say. But sometimes she does become aware of what people say about her but you reassure her that they don’t mean what they said and they are clearly idiots who don’t know what they are talking about.

- Due to yours and her close relationships she eventually developed a crush on you. With you protecting her and making sure she’s alright she couldn’t help it. But she wasn’t sure if you would accept her feelings due to the difference between the two of you. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t expressed them mostly towards the others. Once they’ve heard her having a crush on someone else (especially sonic) they thought they were hearing things at first. Amy has a crush on someone who wasn’t sonic? Even Sonic himself was surprised but if Amy was happy then they were as well. They did try to ask her for information about you and she was more than happy to tell them. Once hearing what you looked like they just assumed that you just so happened to be a pink hedgehog just like her.

- Eventually though Amy couldn’t keep her crush for you a secret and decided to risk it and ask you to be her girlfriend to which you accepted. Making her shed a slight tear out of happiness and hugging you all giddily. She was more than happy that you accepted her feelings she never thought any would accept her feelings.

- Expect her to be really clingy towards you. I can imagine her love language being a combination of physical touch, quality time and gift giving. She’s a very affectionate person regardless if she’s with friends or a lover. She likes giving gifts to people ranging from items to food.

- She really wants you to meet her other friends Sonic, Tails and Knuckles since she’s already said so much about you to them. At first you were slightly hesitant but eventually you agreed being unable to say no to her so with your permission she gathered the other three so they could meet you.

+ As soon as she heard the three of them at her door she happily ran towards the door and opened it with a smile on her face “hey you three glad you can make it” she said “Don’t worry about it Ames we’re just really excited to meet her” Sonic slight chuckled to himself “yeah especially since for once you aren’t going after sonic” knuckles jokingly said before receiving a slightly above whisper from tails telling knuckles off before Amy waved off what knuckles had said standing to the side to let the other three in to which they did. Amy then went off to go and get you so you could meet them creating a slight tension as they asked questions between them like what your name was? What were you like? Things like that, however as soon as Amy returned with you a slight confusion yet surprised expression formed on their faces. “This is my girlfriend [Name], they’re a bit quiet so please be patient around her.” Amy said wrapping and arm around yours as you introduced yourself to the others. Honestly they were surprised when they saw you, they were somewhat surprised because you seemed to be a nearly identical look-alike of Amy but they didn’t want to say anything about it so they just gave you a smile as they introduced themselves to you.

- Out of the three of them ironically enough I can imagine you being the closest with Sonic. Since he’s pretty much used to having Amy chasing him all the time he’s now got to get used to actually being left alone by her. I like to think that due to her constant affiliation with him he knows what she likes or not so if you're struggling to figure out what to give her Sonic can tell you. You still are somewhat close to the other two but mostly sonic.

Springwood in Ohio the town that could never sleep peacefully no matter what you did with a sleep mask they would just put your eyes out, melatonin would etch away your lungs and sonic booms would make your ears burst.... so they said.

But whether this was true or not only the many fatalities seemed to know, but they were relatively swept under the carpet because the most important thing was the protection of the children, children who experienced a nightmare in the kindergarten where they should have been safe.

This was also true for Quentin and his kindergarten friends who were now little more than a shadow of what they used to be, not real friends but rather classmates who barely said hello to each other.

That applied to almost everyone except Quentin and his girlfriend.

She had moved to Springwood shortly before the events that had taken place at the camp and had quickly hit it off with Quentin and Nancy, a trio that was sure to emerge victorious from the nightmare...a victory that had been several weeks in the making and the curly haired young man now looked around with joy and calm instead of fear every time.

Blue eyes that kept darting to his girlfriend who was staying with him for the long weekend due to the upcoming winter vacations, ,,Your dark circles are getting less” she commented as her hand ran over his cheek, seeing the skin turn slightly pink and warm up.

She could hear the brown-haired man pacing back and forth, seemingly becoming more restless with each passing minute. When the sun went down and everyone in Springwood was getting comfortable, it was like waiting for the firing squad for Quentin.

Although Freddy seemed to have been defeated, there was no guarantee that he would be; you couldn't actually defeat a demon, could you?

,,I'm here Quentin and no one else,” she released him into sleep and stroked his head soothingly until his breathing slowed and he fell asleep peacefully with the first snowfall.

I regret not staying with my grandmother longer. I vividly remember the last time I saw her before she passed. I remember seeing her face, seeing how happy she was to see me- because she had just woken up and I was the first thing she saw- and I kept thinking how I hated that I had to say goodbye to her. 99. Have you ever met someone who didn't seem real?

Yeah, in college 2021 I was in a weird situationship with a straight boy named August and he was like, text book perfect. Dirty blonde hair, deep green eyes, kind of lean and hunky, like he was muscular but in a "this is a product of my naturally playful and athletic lifestyle, not the gym" kind of way, and he was just unfathomably gentlemanly. 2021 was first semester coming off of a traumatic break up, and due to my minor I had to take an extra semester of college which meant my entire graduating class had finished school the semester prior. I didn't have any friends on campus due to this, but it was cool because despite the break up, I was able to use that freedom to kinda reinvent myself. August was the first friend I made, but we became friends because he had seen me give a speech in our philosophy class about Kesha for an assignment (I don't remember what the fuck I said though) and he thought it was the most interesting part of class. We ended up becoming really fast friends and throughout the year he would seek me out and idk just validate a lot of expressive decisions I made (things that I would usually be insecure about) that were a product of trying to be more authentic in spite of my break up, and it just felt like the perfect gift from the universe. Like, I remember a day where I was looking relatively nice and was feeling good about myself, so I decided to walk to a coffee shop on campus to pass the time. Out of no where, August shows up, in a gray hanes tank top (drenched in sweat) and extremely tight black running shorts. He walks up to me (he reeked from a run he was just on) backed me into a wall while placing his hand over my head (his pit is right above my face mind you) and did that very seductive "leans over your crush while looking down at them" number and just started talking to me like this wasn't the most homoerotic sequence out of a gay hallmark movie... He complimented my outfit, and we chatted for like 30 minutes EXACTLY LIKE THAT until his girlfriend showed up and then they left. Shit like that happened for 5 straight months until I graduated. I just kept thinking what the actual fuck is happening with every interaction. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. So much other almost-gay shit happened. To this day I think I hallucinated him. It was also very eerie that Folklore by T*ylor Sw*ft came out this same year and the song "August" is nearly 1-to-1 with my experience. It's almost uncanny.

Surge continued to sit at her table, sipping on her slushy. If she wasn't so engrossed in her phone, she might've seen the blue blur coming.

"Hey, Surge!" Sonic said before slapping her on the shoulder.

Surge felt a similar jolt of electricity shock her body.

"Bye Surge!" Sonic waved before dashing off.

"YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!" Surge roared, running after him.

Before she caught up to him, she had to skid to a stop as Tangle was suddenly in her way.

"Fuck off, Lamer! I need to catch that blue bubblegum prick!"

"Woah, woah! Easy there Surge."

"You don't get to tell me what to do!"

"As the person who's girlfriend you just fried, I think I do! You're lucky I don't break you like a twig!"

Tangle lightened the end of her tail into a fist to make her point. Surge glared at it before the electricity in her body fizzled away.

"What do you want?"

"Look. I know what Whisper did was uncalled for. We're all on the same side now, so we should all make an effort to be better to one another. I'm here to offer a burying of the hatchet. Let it all go so we can move towards a brighter future."

Tangle extended her hand to Surge.

"Whaddya say?"

Surge hesitated, but reluctantly grabbed Tangle's hand.

...only to be shocked again.

"YoU fUcKiNg BiTcH!!!" Surge cried while being shocked.

Tangle grinned like a devil and swung her tail around and upwards, uppercutting Surge through the roof of the Restoration.

"That's what you get for hurting my Strawberry!" Tangle called.

After a surprisingly long flight, Surge went crashing into the ground a few miles away from HQ. She groaned and sat up. She wanted to go and kick the shit out of both hedgehog and lemur, but she had no energy to run. Guess those buzzers shocks take the electricity out of her.

Just then, a small flying pod descended above Surge. Before she could react, a robotic hand extended out and zapped her on the back.

"That's for breaking my Dynamo Cage!" Eggman laughed before flying away.

Much, much later, Surge shuffled into Amy's house. Totally exhausted, she flopped onto the couch next to Kit.

"Hey, can you hand me the remote?" Kit asked.

Wordlessly, Surge grabbed the remote and handed it off to Kit. As she did, she felt another jolt from his hand. She gave him a dirty look while Kit just snickered, failing to hide the joybuzzer in his hand.

Even later, Surge lay on her bed, just staring up at the ceiling.

"Are you quite alright?" Blaze asked as she walked up beside the bed.

Surge glanced over at her and sighed.

" 'S been a long day, Blaze..." she mumbled.

Blaze frowned, "Would a cuddle make it better?"

Surge just nodded, and Blaze began to position herself next to her love. Just as Blaze put her arms around Surge, the tenrec winced as she felt another, albeit shorter, zap.

"I'm sorry," Blaze giggled as she sat up, then presented the joybuzzer in her hand, "I couldn't resist."

She then burned the buzzer, and properly wrapped her arms around Surge. With a tight squeeze and a warm embrace, she sighed and decided that today was done.

Get ready for an insane girls rambling review of Sonic 3 (the movie) (from now on she's going to call it "Shadow Movie")

So I've seen Shadow Movie twice now, at varying levels of high and both times I had very different experiences with how I felt about it and was entertained

This is gonna contain some spoilers. I'm not gonna go into crazy detail, but if you already wanna watch the movie, back away

First some background.

1. I am EXTREMELY NORMAL about Shadow the Hedgehog. I just think she's the coolest thing in existence and I love her

B. I have not seen Sonic 1 or 2. Because Sonic 1 doesn't look interesting to me and Sonic 2 seems neat but I feel I'd wanna warch the original first (the third didn't have the same problem because I was only interested in Shadow)

& Knuckles: I watched this movie directly after work BOTH times so brain tired

When I first watched the movie my excitement peaked whenever Shadow was on screen and would immediately dip when the focus wasn't on her. I'd get so excited with how much they were able to sell how cool she is I'd squeal and make excited gestures.

I'm gonna get into her story in the second viewing but what's important is as someone who loves Shadow, that alone and how this movie portrayed her was able to keep my attention.

With the exception of Maria and Agent Stone, basically every human focused scene just bores me in some way or another. Or I just wish it was focused on someone else. There's not too much of that but even the Robotnic stuff I ultimately didn't find that engaging in the moment.

What I'm really impressed by is how much the entire movie ties together, and into Shadow's story

They do an excellent job mixing the 3 focuses together theming wise. Showing Sonic as a parallel to Shadow and their similarities and as a result letting Sonic have alot of moments that's directly resonate with Shadow's story.

And while ultimately I don't really enjoy most of the Robotinics time on screen. I do find it interesting how it's just heavily implied that much like Shadow, Gerald Robotnic being trapped away for 50 years is what ruined him and why he's the way he is. The few glimpses we see of him in the past are completely different and make sense for Maria's characterization.

The way he refers to Maria and Shadow as "Kids" plural, showing he sees Shadow as as much of a granddaughter as Maria. Whereas in present day he's so bitter and jaded he doesn't actually care about Shadow. It's fascinating to me how none of this is directly spelled out, but told really well.

I don't have anything more to say but Agent Stone is such a good character for Robotnic to be around. He's better than any attempts at giving Robotnic henchmen in the games.

Now, Shadow's story. It's a very close adaptation to the games so I won't go into it in full and assume you know generally what her backstory story is.

But now it's time for the real reason we're here

Resonating with Shadow the Hedgehog too much as a Trans woman

So Shadow the Hedgehog is a Trans girl. This is an objective fact in my reality and I don't want to hear any one else's take.

There's a few scenes in this movie that really got me to tear up.

The metaphor with Shadow seeing an old Monster movie about an alien destroying cities, she appears sad and then asks Maria for reassurance that she doesn't see her like that.

And wow. I wonder what other group is forced to only see themselves portrayed negatively in media, often casually and in a way that their loved ones will typically ignore and continue to engage with anyways.

I also love how in the beginning it's said that Shadow was the cause of the Base getting destoryed when in reality it was a Gun soilder. This is another thing they show and don't say.

Showing that Shadow didn't even cause the harm she's punished for.

And wow imagine being ostracized just because you're different than anyone else when in reality you're not the one losing the threat and acts of violence are against you.

There's alot more that makes Shadow trans, but those exist in the games. I really love her story in this and it makes me happy

It was well over an hour after the dance had ended. In the school gym, only the quiet sounds of brooms and footsteps could be heard. Except for in one corner, where there were two voices excitedly but tiredly talking.

“That was fun,” one of them said, “we should do that again some time.”

“Eh, I dunno,” the other one answered, “dancing’s never really been my… thing, I guess. Wasn’t even gonna come to this until I got roped into it.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. Like I said, I don’t really like dancing much. Never been good at it. You wanna help take these boxes to my car?” They lifted up one of the mentioned boxes.

“Okay.” She picked up the other two.

Damn it, of course she had to show off. She had already gotten so much taller over the last two years, with her strength following quickly behind. She had to have been working on it on her own as well, right? That wasn’t just her natural ability, surely. And the way her dress showed off her muscles as they both walked out of the school…

Nope, nope, they had to pay attention to what was in front of them. They set their box down on the ground next to their car and opened the trunk. She put the boxes she was holding in before they were able to pick theirs up again.

Once it was in, they said, “Well that’s all, I guess. Didn’t expect to be able to get it all in one trip… Thanks.”

“Of course,” she replied happily. “Anything to help.”

They closed the trunk door and leaned against it. “Um…” they tried to make conversation. “You looked beautiful tonight. Like, on the dance floor and stuff. Uh— not that you don’t now or anything, but like— um— uh…”

She giggled sweetly. “Thank you. I really like this one, it’s comfortable and pretty.”

“Not just that, the rest of you too.”

“Thank you again. I tried my best.”

Cod her smile was so… good. It made them feel warm and cold and giddy and calm all at the same time. They had butterflies in their stomach just looking at her, but that smile made the feeling so much more intense. People(one person in particular) had been making fun of them for months about how obvious their crush on her was. But the two of them were just friends, not to mention the fights to the death they had had years ago, they couldn’t say they had a crush on her, that’d be weird.

And she’d probably never like them back… right? Unless that was why she was hanging out with them so much lately… No, that was probably just because they were one of the only people she knew at that school… right?

“You okay?” She asked. “You were just staring.”

“Huuh?” They sputtered. “Yeah, yeah, yeah I’m fine. Just tired.”

She raised an eyebrow, then turned to walk back inside.

“Hey, wait,” they blurted.

She turned back around and tilted her head in the way they found so adorable. “Hm?”

“I just wanted to tell you something.” They looked at the ground. Why were they doing this? This was insane.

“What is it?”

“I uh…” of all the times to not be able to speak. “I— uh— I think I might… um… like you…”

She looked confused. “I… like you too? I thought we were friends.”

“No, not like that,” now they were embarrassed and nervous. “Like… I like you in the kinda way where I want you to…” they hesitated, “be my girlfriend…”

She had frozen, and they could feel every fiber of their soul trying to get away.

She spoke softly after what felt like hours. “Really…?”

“Yeah…” They very quickly added, “Ifyoudon’tlikemethat’sfineIjustwantedtogetthatoffmychestpleasedon’thateme!”

“So… I’m not the only one…?”

“Huh?”

“I didn’t think you liked me back, so I didn’t say anything…”

“Oh… Am I that hard to read?”

“Yes.” Another thing that was good about her: she was very honest, almost brutally so. “So, does that make us girlfriends now?”

“Yeah I guess.”

Act4: “Into the darkness”

Soleana Castle Town is a water capital where beautiful waterways spread out in all directions.

A magnificent silver tray suspended in the bay...In a corner of the national water skating rink, there was a woman staring at the cold, empty ice and sighing sadly.

"Not me..."

Her name is "Elise".

A young skater who has been hailed as the "queen" in her singles, she is currently facing a major problem.

The song she was asked to perform at a pair skating competition, which had been her life's goal, turned out to be a song that reminded her of her late parents, who raised her with love and care as her teachers. When she hears this song, Elise is moved to tears by the happy memories of her former girlfriend, and is unable to perform as a girl.

Unsure of her practice and unable to find a partner to pair up with... Elise was at a dead end, and before she knew it, she was venting her worries to the starry sky.

At times like that...

"I heard your story! I'll help you."

Elise turns around when she hears a voice from behind, and there he is, a former skater, and an elusive and famous coach who has left a brilliant record among the athletes who have taken his lessons...an unknown among skaters. There was a figure of a famous person with no one, ``Silver the Hedgehog''.

"It's okay! I'll support you to the fullest!"

She couldn't be more fortunate if he were to be her partner. But... the biggest problem lies within her own heart.

While Elise remained with her head down, Silver took her hand, handed her his pendant, and said,

"You're not alone. Everything will be fine. This is your talisman."

The blue gem seemed to shine brightly, as if to encourage her.

As she practiced more and more, her anxiety about the song gradually subsided, and before she knew it, she was able to skate the song all the way to the end.

Originally, Elise had nothing to teach her. However, her performance as a pair with Silver, who led her powerfully and precisely, gave her confidence and courage.

And finally, the day before the actual performance. Rehearsal practice day at the performance venue...

Unfortunately, it was raining heavily at the outdoor rink. This isn't good practice. Elise was about to leave with her shoulders slumped, but...

Suddenly, Elise noticed that the rain around her suddenly stopped.

When she looked up at the sky, she saw a silver figure floating in the air, surrounded by emerald green light. A gentle film of light spreads from her palm as she holds it up to the sky, covering Link and repelling the rain.

Silver speaks to Elise, who is holding her breath.

"Actually, I'm a psychic..."

Silver continues speaking as Elise hurries up saying that it's a waste of time to practice.

The reason he switched from being a player to being a coach was because he feared that this power might come out during competition, even unconsciously. He says he wants to use this power not for himself, but to help others.

Amidst the heavy rain, only the skating rink remains silent, with white mist clinging to the ice surface.

Elise, who felt Silver's kindness in a dream-like fantasy space, felt a flame of courage ignite in her chest that inspired her.

...The rain stopped before we knew it, and Silver also joined the practice. It's finally time to wrap up the rehearsal.

As Elise continued to perform in harmony with his partner, he found himself enjoying this song, which was a symbol of sadness. And her feelings resonate with the happy memories of practicing with her parents.

She loved her parents, but she loved the song just as much. Warm tears filled Elyse's eyes as she remembered this, but her performance did not stop, but rather became brighter.

And the most difficult, the climax, the twin/triple axel. It seemed like he was going to show off a brilliant rotation from his high jump, but...!

"...!"

Due to a moment of laxity, Elise fails to jump properly and loses her balance in the air. Elise thought she was about to fall, but emerald green light enveloped her and supported her. She is a silver superpower.

"That was dangerous! But please don't let me do this in real life, okay?"

Silver tries to make him relax by joking and resumes practicing.

However, Elise's previously proud feelings start to cool down, and she begins to feel cowardly again. Is there any guarantee that this will work in production...? Silver notices her condition and reassures Elise.

"You'll be fine. Don't worry! All the hard work you put in now will lead to your future!"

Under the starry sky after the rain, a hot wind slowly blew between the two of us on the ice.

On the day of the competition...the pair appear like meteors on the rink that springs up during the festival, captivating the audience with their beautiful performance.

And the triple axel in question...!

Elise was about to give in to the dark premonition that came to her just before taking off, but what she saw reflected in her eyes was...Silver's smile. Her trust, her happy training time, and the fond memories she had with her parents have supported Elise to this day.

Both of them made a spectacular jump and landed perfectly at the same time! Loud cheers!

The two received the honor of being the brightest pair that day...!

The tournament is over...

On the deserted link, Elise returns the pendant to Silver. It is something she no longer needs after overcoming her past and growing up.

Elise smiles, and Silver returns the favor.

She's not the only one who has moved on. Silver also revealed that he was greatly inspired by her hard work in this case and decided to make a full return to the sport.

"But to be honest, I'm worried. No matter how hard I try, I'm afraid I'll end up using my powers someday."

"It's okay! It'll definitely work out. Because..."

Elise continues with a smile.

"...All your hard work is connected to your future, right?"

The laughter of the two people overlapped and echoed between the rink filled with quiet and gentle light and the starry sky.

"One night..."

I didn't expect Silver and Princess Elise to look much different than figure skaters, but Silver is still Silver, and Elise seems to have retained her original elegance as a princess.

Anyway, I feel like I've seen the light on that pendant somewhere...?

As for the strange changes, I was surprised by the huge water rink, but the principality of Soleana and the castle town itself don't seem to have changed much. It seems that not everything in the world has changed, but that some parts of the world have changed.

It seems that more research is needed to understand what happened around the world...

Slipped Away

It’s Steven’s birthday and Greg is thinking about his mom. But, that won’t get in the way of their fun day out in Delaware.

He looked at his phone, his wallpaper was of him and Steven with the Crystal Gems. Greg sighed again, he opened his phone went to his camera roll, and found a file titled “Rose.” Greg’s finger hovered on the screen, He pressed it and then saw videos and pictures from his VHS tapes that he and Rose recorded together.

Greg saw his favorite one. That was the day that She was going to have a baby with him. When his girlfriend told him that she and Steven couldn’t both exist, he was devastated. He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. He wanted to grow old with her — well, she couldn’t age because her body was just an illusion. Greg didn’t understand Gem stuff, and he probably never will but….

He knew that he missed her a lot. But, at least he has Steven. He smiled as he sat up, the man looked up at his loft bedroom, the half-gem was sleeping peacefully in bed. Steven was kind enough to have him stay over the night for his birthday tomorrow. Steven, Amethyst, Connie, Lapis, Paradot, and himself were all going to go to the arcade together.

Greg saw a video, he read the top of the screen that said August 2, 2000 9:42 PM. He clicked on it and started to watch it.

“Hey, you wanna dance?” Greg asked her. Rose smiled and walked towards him. Rose was nine months with Steven. And they were trying to spend as much time as possible.

Greg smiled as he set the camera up on a tripod. He walked over to her, wearing his Jordans that he got at a thrift shop. Rose had a pair of Jordans too, but the Nike Swoosh was hot pink — just like her hair color, and the rest of the shoe was white. They danced to the music of ‘Your Beautiful’ by ‘James Blunt’

Greg and Rose both kissed after the song ended. Greg put his phone on the charger and tried to get to sleep.

He clenched the fabric softly where his gem was placed and smiled, he ran down the stairs with his camera and got started on breakfast.

“Okay… Let’s see—“

“STEVEN!” Amethyst screamed in his ear making the boy jump a few feet in the air. Literally.

“Ah, Amethyst!” he yelled. Amethyst laughed as she saw the half-gem boy float down to the ground.

“Happy Birthday, dude!” She said. Steven smiled and hugged his friend. “You excited for today?”

Steven nodded.

Amythest saw the camera recording. “Ohh! your vlogging for YouTube!”

“Yeah! It’s a birthday vlog thingy,” he said as he continued cooking his eggs. he put them on a plate and ate them.

Just then, the screen door opened. It was Connie, Steven’s best friend. Steven ran up and hugged her. “Happy Birthday, Steven!” Connie said.

“Thanks, Connie!” he said happily. “Hey, where’s Pearl and Garnet?” she asked.

“I don’t know.” Then, he got a video call on his laptop, the music lowered as his MacBook Pro started showing an icon. Steven ran up the stairs, sat on his bed, and picked up his laptop, he saw that it said ‘Paradot’ He smiled as he clicked the green Accept button.

“Hey, Paridot, Lapis. What’s up?”

“Happy Birthday Steven!” Both Lapis and Paradot said.

Steven smiled. “Thank you,” he said.

“Hey, I’ll see you at the party.”

“Okay! we're having it at the arcade right?” Lapis asked the boy.

Steven nodded. Then she hung up after exchanging goodbyes. Steven walked downstairs and got a text from his dad.

Grab a pair of shoes, Schtu-ball.

Steven sent a thumbs up emoji and went upstairs grabbed his white and red Jordan’s and tied them with a pair of socks. He went downstairs, Connie was sitting in the kitchen with Amythest, talking. Greg walked in.

Steven turned to his father, he was curious why they didn’t go to the arcade like they planned to.

The solo kicked in, they listened to it. Then someone broke the silence. “Yo, G. Why aren’t we going to the arcade?” Amethyst asked. Connie looked at the back of the driver’s seat. Greg smiled and said nothing, Steven was wondering that too.

“You’ll see soon enough, Steven. It’s a surprise.” Seven nodded, stars still in his eyes as he sat there. Can’t help to contain his excitement for this trip.

They've made it to the Bowling Alley located in Pike Washington Delaware–Pleasant Hill Lanes was their party destination. Steven had birthday parties here since he started growing up at eight years old.

“Dad! Where bowling?!” Greg smiled and ruffled his fluffy hair. Steven smiled and stepped out of the van. He got a text from Pearl that their table was ready. Steven smiled as he saw the place.

The half-gem boy's eyes sparkled as he saw a spacious bowling alley with a large open area and various seating options. There are multiple rows of bowling lanes, some of which are lined with green pins. A total of six bowling lanes can be seen in the scene, each one having its own set of pins and bowling balls.

The room is filled with various furniture pieces such as chairs, couches, and tables. In addition to the bowling lanes, there are two couches placed at different locations within the space. One couch is situated closer to the left side of the room, while another is located near the right side. There are also several dining tables scattered throughout the area, offering a comfortable setting for guests to relax and enjoy their time.

“Where are Pearl and Garnet?” Connie asked.

“Pearl texted me that she was at lanes one and two,” Greg said. Steven ran to lane one to see the pale-skinned gem setting up. “Pearl!” Steven said, running towards her.

“Hello! Steven! Happy Birthday!” Pearl said, hugging him. “I can’t believe that you're fourteen!” Steven smiled and looked around, there were balloons, plates, and chairs decorated with a Transformers and Sonic The Hedgehog theme.

“Everything looks great, Pearl!” Greg said. She gave them a thumbs up.

“Who’s coming?”

“Sadie, Lars, Sour Cream, Onion, Kiki, and Buck,” she said, reading the names off her clipboard.

“Ugh, you look like a high school teacher holding that, dude.” Amethyst rolled her eyes at her.

“Amethyst!”

“What?! you do!”

“Hey, has anyone seen Garnet?”

“I asked her to get some food for the party,” Pearl told the man. Greg nodded

Steven looked at the arcade. “Amethyst, wanna play at the arcade?”

“Okay! Yo, Greg, can you give us some cash!” She asked, Greg nodded, pulled out his Batman wallet, and handed them twenty dollars.

“AWESOME!” Both Amythest and Steven both said, both Gem and Half-Gem ran to the arcade.

Then, Greg saw Garnet walk in holding veggie platters in her hands. “Hey, Garnet. What’s up?” Greg asked. Connie stood there, Greg noticed this. “Connie, you okay?”

“What? Yeah! I’m fine I’m going to play with Steven and Amythest.” she said, walking off.

Greg, Pearl, and Garnet were setting up. Garnet was opening up plates and napkins, Pearl opened up the veggie platter, she tried not to gag and cringe in disgust from the sight of food, and thinking about people eating it. Greg stared at her.

“Pearl, you alright?”

“Yeah yeah! I’m fine! just the sight of food makes me…..” she couldn’t finish that sentence.

Geeze… she’s so dramatic. Greg thought to himself, as he looked at his phone, Steven’s cake was ready to get picked up. He was going to a special bakery in Delaware to retrieve it.

Greg grabbed the keys to his van and he walked out of the building. He unlocked his van sat inside and turned it on, the engine hummed to life as he drove to the bakery.

He was at the bakery, A woman walked out with his cake. “Here you go, Mr. Universe.” Greg smiled as he paid for it. He grabbed the box and went back to his van.

He drove back to Pleasant Hill Lanes and went inside. Steven, Connie, and Amythest were still playing in the arcade, Sadie was now there with Lars, Sour Cream, Onion, Buck, Kiki, Lapis, and Paradot.

“Hey Mr. U! Where’s Steven?” Buck Dewey asked the older man, who was holding the box.

“Oh, he’s in the arcade, let me text him,” he said, putting the cake down pulling out his iPhone 5s from his pocket, and texting him. The blue iMessage bubble pops up. Steven read it and typed back. OK, I’ll be there now. he texted.

The half Gem ran with Amythest following behind him. “Hi guys!” he said cheerfully.

“Hey, Steven!” Sadie waved. Lars stood there, and Sadie elbowed him in the stomach. “Ow! What was that for?”

“Tell Steven Happy Birthday!”

Lars grumbled. “Happy Birthday, Steven…”

“Aren’t you like…. Ten?” he asked.

“He’s fifteen, Lars!” Sadie hissed.

“Okay, jeez! so-rry!” he said, Sadie smiled and handed a gift bag to Greg. “Thanks, guys,” he said, putting Lars' gift bag on the table as well. The young Gem Hydrid smiled at them, Sadie smiled and ruffled his hair. “Happy Birthday, little dude!”

“Happy Birthday, Steven! Paradot and I got you a gift,” she said, handing him the bag.

“Thanks, guys.” he smiled

Lars sighed and tried to smile. “Happy Birthday, Steven.” he sighed, wondering why he was here. And why did Sadie force him to go, he wasn’t friends with a… Tenth grader — or, fifth grader, in Lars’ opinion.

Then, Kiki, Buck, Sour Cream, and his little brother Onion walked in. Lars was about to scream when he saw The Cool Kids here.

“H-Hey guys, what are you doing at this lame kids' party?” Lars asked. Sadie glared at him.

Sour Cream stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked at Steven. “Hey, Steven asked us to come, he’s pretty awesome. Give him a chance.”

“Ugh, whatever…” he said, crossing his arms.

Steven walked up to the counter to get bowling shoes. He grabbed his shoes and put them on, he strapped the velcro to his shoes and then stood up. Sadie grabbed some bowling balls for them. Steven put everyone’s names on the screen.

“Hey, Pearl aren’t you playing with us?” Steven asked, putting his name on the board. “I am fine, Steven. Plus, I’m not wearing those… Disgusting bowing shoes. Everyone puts their feet in those.” she cringed. Amethyst rolled her eyes as She put on her bowling shoes, then she walked up to the screen to put her, Garnet’s Lapis’ and Paradot’s names in.

“Alright, we're all set, Sadie you're up first,” Steven told his friend. Sadie picked up her ball and rolled it down the lane. Steven looked as the pins crashed. Steven saw that she got a strike.

“Nice job, Sadie!” Steven said. Encouraging her. Sadie smiled and sat down, Lars went next.

Picking up his bowling ball after sticking his fingers into the three holes, he rolled it down the lane. His ball went to the side.

“Why?!” Lars said he got another chance, he got it but it was two pins. “You gotta be kidding me! Steven, did you rig this game?!” Lars asked picking the boy up by the shirt.

“Lars! put him down!” Sour Cream said,

“Put him down, dude!” Kiki told him, glaring at the taller boy. Lars sighed and put him down. “Sorry, Steven,” Kiki said. Steven smiled. “That’s alright! I know he was just kidding around!” the Half Gem said as he went next, Steven picked up his bowling ball and threw it, his friends cheered as he got a strike.

“Way to go, Steven!” Kiki said from the other lane, Steven blushed and walked over to his friends, Buck was up now. Kiki, Onion, Amethyst, and Garnet were on the other lane.

Kiki saw Garnet go. She got a strike as well. “Nice, Garnet!” Kiki said. They played two rounds before they had lunch.

Greg returned with pizzas in his hands, Steven grabbed a slice. So as his friends and Amethyst. He grabbed a slice and sat next to his son.

Amethyst smiled and put a hand on Steven’s shoulder. Steven’s friends all sat and talked, except Lars.

“This is awesome!” Paradot exclaimed as she saw her name up on the screen, Lapis and Paradot took two turns each while all of them were eating. Once they were done, Garnet pulled out the cake and she opened it, The fusion removed it from the box and Steven stared at it in awe with stars in his eyes.

The birthday cake is a very unique and creative design, with a green and white fondant cake as the main base. The cake features a large, multi-layered cake decorated with various characters from the Sonic The Hedgehog video game series, including Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose. The characters were placed around the edges of the cake, giving it a whimsical and playful appearance.

Additionally, there are several smaller cakes placed throughout the arrangement, each one decorated with a different character. A small cupcake is also visible towards the bottom left corner of the cake. The cake stands on a dining table, surrounded by various items such as cups, bowls, and plastic bottles, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for the birthday celebration.

In the middle, in yellow fondant, it said ‘HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY STEVEN’ Amythest had to get pushed out of the way by Pearl. “Amethyst! down! we have to sing Steven Happy Birthday!”

“Oh, right…” Amythest said. Greg pulled out his iPhone and pressed record.

“Happy birthday to you!”

“Happy Birthday, my handsome half-gem .” Pearl said hugging him and kissing his cheek.

“Ahhh! Gem coodies!” Steven rubbed his cheek trying to get Pearl’s spit off. Amethyst laughed.

“MY HANDSOME HALF GEM!” Amythest laughed even harder. Lars also laughed, Steven blushed and leaned onto his chair. Garnet put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Steven looked at her, he smiled, and Garnet rubbed his hair. Steven blew out the candles and everyone cheered.

“Let’s eat some cake!” Amethyst said. Greg smiled and cut a piece for Steven, everyone got some, except for Pearl and Garnet. Steven ate his cake, everyone was having a good time. Greg saw the pictures taken on his phone, he walked to Steven.

“Pearl, can you take a picture of me and Steven?” Greg asked. Pearl took his phone from her and took a picture of both of them, then. Everyone got into the picture and an employee took the group photo of them.

It started mostly as us taking advantage of each other for different kinds of fun until it almost killed me.

After that, I spent summer break with Mom and Ray in the town I was born in and when I came back... he was all over me.

What convinced me was the fact that he had a "girlfriend", and when I said yes to him he broke up with her immediately. That... was different from the bully tormenting me a year before.

And a lot of things were different. He put a lot of effort into that relationship, he actually... cared.

He was romantic, kind, always listening to what I said, and interested in what I liked.

When I talked to him about the Sega Mega Drive and the Sonic The Hedgehog game and how there weren't plans for it to arrive in Australia anytime soon... he fu*king had one of those come from Europe with three games. And one of those was Sonic!

I... was really impressed.

I fell for him as well.

Then he saved my life, helped me and my mother get rid of my stepfather, and took care of us financially until I found a job...

He said he was ready to do anything to make me happy...

Touka took a deep breath, her feet aching as she, Shadow and Knuckles shared the couch in the clothes store. They were observing Rouge, Amy, Minami and Lily as they marveled over the clothes at this particular store, having been walking around for hours at a particular giant shopping mall in Sentoraru.

''I've only said that I wanted a pair of new sneakers. How did we end up like this?'' Touka muttered, sighing.

She had accepted Rouge's offer to go shopping with her, with Shadow accompanying them. Rouge then revealed that she also invited Amy, Minami, Knuckles and Lily, talking about how it would be a nice bonding time between girls, both Knuckles and Shadow pointed out how they're clearly not girls, and merely keeping their respective partners company. Rouge agreed with that, telling them how she would find some use for the two, managing to somehow rope them into carrying her bags. Touka had to admit that there was something scary about how Rouge just had to do some light teasing about how neither Knuckles nor Shadow would be able to last a shopping trip with her for the two to get fired up and tag along while also acting as the group's pack mules. It was obvious that she knew how to mess with their ego to convince them into doing whatever she wanted.

It also didn't help that, in Knuckles' situation, Lily was actually happy with this shopping trip and as her Guardian, he had to keep an eye on her. As for Touka, she was basically being dragged around by Rouge who tried to convince her to try on cute outfits, even though Touka was adamant that she didn't want to buy anything. She had already gone to the shoe store, found herself a pair of high top sneakers looking almost identical to her old ones, bought them and put them on. From her perspective, she was done, but she and, by proxy, Shadow just kept being dragged from one store to another.

''What do you guys say?'' Lily emerged from the dressing room, now wearing a red sundress and a matching cream sun hat.

''It really looks great on you!'' Rouge said, giving Lily a double thumbs up.

''It's a cute outfit!'' Amy said, with Minami nodding happily. Lily took a look in the mirror, humming.

''I don't know if it really matches my style… Knux, what do you think?'' she asked the red echidna.

''It looks quite flattering on you,'' Knuckles responded, with Lily turning back to the mirror.

''Maybe I should try on the lilac one with the star pattern,'' she said, with Rouge suddenly appearing next to her, carrying the dress in her hands.

''Here you go!'' she said. Lily then vanished back in the dressing room, with Rouge turning back to Amy.

''It's really great to have some girlfriends to go shopping with. It makes things much more fun,'' she said innocently, only to shoot a smug gaze towards Knuckles and Shadow. These two, in turn, were glaring daggers back at her, knowing full well they got set up, but were too stubborn to admit that they fell for it hook, line and sinker. Knuckles had also been planning to get revenge on Rouge for what happened the night before, but he couldn't plan anything like this.

''Oh, Touka!'' Touka suddenly got startled when Rouge appeared before her, carrying a short-sleeved tunic. ''What do you think about this? Do you want to try it on?''

''I…'' Touka glanced to the side, taking note of the annoyed look on Shadow's expression. Clearly, neither he nor Knuckles were going to protest against being dragged around because that would mean a victory for Rouge, with Touka figuring that she could allow the two a little break from this. ''Actually, I'm feeling hungry and I've been thinking if you guys want to go somewhere for lunch.''

''Well… I don't know. I'm not that hungry,'' Minami said, glancing at Amy. ''What about you Amy?''

Amy shook her head, and even Lily responded with a ''No, thanks! Maybe later!'' from the dressing room. Touka then glanced at Shadow and Knuckles. ''What about you two?''

''I wouldn't mind going for lunch,'' Shadow said in his usual business-like tone, but frankly, he was relieved to get a break from this. As for Knuckles, he was a bit torn.

''I'd like to go for lunch as well, but unfortunately, I cannot. I am Lily's Guardian, and I cannot leave her side even if it's just for lunch,'' Knuckles replied in a stoic tone, his arms folded across his chest, and his muzzle flushing red in embarrassment when he heard his stomach growl. Shadow gave him a look that just screamed 'You're wasting your opportunity'.

''You can leave if you want. I'll be with Minami, Amy and Rouge for the time being,'' Lily said, exiting the dressing room, now wearing the lilac dress. Knuckles, however, remained stubborn.

''While I trust Amy and Minami, I don't trust Rouge,'' he replied, with Shadow rolling his eyes as he heard this response. Rouge, on the other hand, giggled.

''What's the matter? Are you afraid that I'll rob this place?'' she asked, with Knuckles giving her an annoyed look. ''Don't worry, Knuckles. I have no reason for doing that since this isn't a jewelry store.''

''If it helps, Minami and I will keep an eye on Lily and Rouge,'' Amy added, giving Knuckles a sheepish smile. Knuckles remained silent for a moment, then sighed, getting up.

''Let's go then,'' he said, with Shadow and Touka following him outside. Once they were a bit further away, Touka groaned.

''Finally! I thought we'd never get a break,'' she said, only for Shadow to glare at her.

''Why did you suggest that earlier? We could've left ages ago,'' he asked in an irked tone.

''You could've also said something, but you didn't,'' Touka pointed out. ''Whether you want to admit it or not, Rouge played both of you.''

Both Shadow and Knuckles had a look of annoyance and defeat on their expressions, but still didn't want to admit that Touka was right.

''That's… an unfortunate blow. I need to learn how to read her better,'' Knuckles stated.

''So, have you two decided where should we go for lunch? If not, I actually saw a place I wanted to go to,'' Touka suddenly said, with Shadow and Knuckles exchanging glances, and then shaking their heads. ''Okay, then follow me.'' She had led the two to a rather peculiar place, which certainly didn't look like an ordinary food place. ''This is the vending machine café I saw when we passed through this part earlier. It looks like this is a self-service place where there are only vending machines with various food and drinks, as well as a dining area and no employees…''

''We're going inside,'' Shadow immediately said, with Touka letting out a soft giggle. She figured that, so long he didn't have to interact with anyone, he'd be fine, and she and Knuckles followed him inside.

''Let's see…'' Touka muttered as she looked around the café, while Shadow and Knuckles already walked ahead of her. Knuckles had found a vending machine dispensing various fruit and was currently eyeing the grapes on display. Meanwhile, Shadow beelined towards the coffee machine, selecting the black coffee option and waiting for it to brew. Touka walked over to her dark hedgehog, just as he picked up the cup of black coffee. ''I hope that you'll also buy some actual food to eat with that coffee.''

''What if I don't?'' Shadow responded in a deadpan tone. Touka huffed.

''Honestly, as your responsible older sister, I want to make sure that you eat properly,'' she responded. Shadow just gave her an irritated look, but did walk up to the food section of the café and looked at his options.

Meanwhile, Touka spotted a particular vending machine that sold cakes in a can and quickly walked over to it, picking the strawberry sponge cake option. She then started deliberating between the matcha and chocolate cake and mango and passionfruit option, when she got startled by a voice from behind.

''I hope that you'll also buy some actual food to eat with that cake.'' Touka turned around, seeing Shadow, who gave her a look of disapproval, arms folded across his chest, only for it to fade into a look of smugness. ''As your more responsible younger brother, I want to make sure that you eat properly.''

Touka, while annoyed, knew well that she had it coming, even though she had fun messing with Shadow. The two were then approached by Knuckles, who was carrying a plastic bag filled with grapes and happily munching on some. ''Is something wrong?''

''Nothing, just a bit of sibling banter,'' Touka said, turning to Shadow. ''Do you also want one?''

Shadow stepped next to her, looking at the products. ''I suppose they don't have tiramisu flavor.''

''No, but they have matcha and chocolate cake. I think you'll like that one,'' Touka said, with Shadow rising an eyebrow. Touka forced an irked smile. ''Don't worry, I'll buy myself something besides dessert so long as you get yourself something to eat as well.''

Both then just stared at each other, as if exchanging a conversation in their minds, while Knuckles was wondering what their problem was.

''Now, that was delicious!'' Touka said, leaning back in her seat, the box of hot chicken curry rice she had bought being empty. Knuckles was still eating his katsudon, having grabbed a fork since his gloves didn't exactly allow him to use chopsticks, while Shadow just finished the tonkotsu ramen, placing the plastic bowl on the table.

''It certainly was better than going to a restaurant,'' he said, glancing around. There were a few other people inside the café, either eating or ordering food from the vending machines, but nobody payed attention to them.

''What's wrong with a restaurant?'' Knuckles asked. Shadow just folded his arms, his eyes darting to the side.

''It's too noisy…'' he muttered, only to notice Touka offering him the matcha and chocolate cake in a cake she had bought for him, and took it from her. Knuckles just rose his eyebrow, but didn't think too much about it, while Shadow ate the dessert.

''From what I know, Neos City actually has a lot of restaurants for people who value their privacy. Kisaki actually took me once to an individual dining BBQ grill and hotpot restaurant,'' Touka said, opening the can with the strawberry sponge cake and took a bite. ''They did have a seating for two, and the food was also very delicious and cheap. She told me that, since she isn't at home due to work, I could go to those places to eat.''

''Do they also have an all-you-can-eat buffet?'' Knuckles asked, with Touka nodding. ''Then I'll have to ask Lily whether she'd want to go there. She had told me that she wanted to try out new things, an an all-you-can-eat buffet was on her list.'' He then placed the fork into the empty bowl. ''I wonder if she, Amy and Minami are done shopping. For all I know, Rouge could be holding them hostage.''

Touka snorted, while Shadow rolled his eyes, responding, ''I sincerely doubt that.''

''I still need to find a way to get my revenge… Do you two have any suggestions for how to approach this situation?'' Knuckles asked, giving both Touka and Shadow a serious look. ''After all, you have been teammates with Rouge for the past few days.''

''Honestly, I'd rather stay out of this situation,'' Touka replied, her and Shadow having heard what exactly happened the previous night from Rouge. Both of them were stunned by Rouge's bold move and decided that they didn't want to involve themselves with this.

''I agree. This is between you and Rouge,'' Shadow added.

''Thanks for nothing, both of you,'' Knuckles replied in an irked tone. Touka just gave him a sheepish smile, while Shadow's expression remained impassive. They were all done with their lunch and were prepared to leave, when they suddenly heard crying from outside. The booth they were sitting at had a one-way window, showing them the inside of the shopping mall inside and outside it had an advertisement for the café. All three looked to their side, seeing a security guard trying to calm down a crying rabbit ARNav.

This rabbit was small, cream-furred, with cinnamon-brown eyes, a small brown nose, and a white muzzle. She had princeton orange markings around her eyes, on her head and at the tips of her long ears. She also had one long eyelash on each eye, and a short, fluffy tail that stuck out of her dress. For attire, she wore a simple sleeveless vermilion dress with a white collar and a light blue cravat, white gloves with a gold cufflink on each cuff, white socks, and vermilion and yellow slip-on shoes with gray soles. Her ears also had pink-colored canals, and were swiveled back and flop behind her head.

Flying next to her and trying to comfort her was a little creature resembling some kind of fairy. This creature was light lapis blue and had light honey mustard yellow markings at the tip of their head, hands, feet and tail, a bulb-shaped head, a floating light honey mustard yellow ball hovering above the top of their head that changed appearance corresponding to their emotions, lapis blue eyes, two light fuchsia/magenta pink butterfly-like wings and a small circular tail. The creature also had a cherry red bow tie.

''What's going on?'' Touka asked, with her, Shadow and Knuckles getting up, wondering if the rabbit ARNav was in some kind of trouble. The security guard, meanwhile, looked rather uncomfortable as he had no clue how to comfort the young rabbit.

''I'm sorry, but the next bus is scheduled to return in two hours, not earlier, and as for the ruffians that stole your package, all we can do is to write a complaint. I cannot help you find them if they aren't at the shopping mall,'' he said.

''Is something wrong?''

The security guard, the rabbit ARNav and the blue fairy turned to Touka, Shadow and Knuckles, who gave them questioning looks, albeit the security guard did note that the dark hedgehog and red echidna glared at him, clearly thinking that he was behind the little rabbit crying.

''Do you know her?'' the security guard asked in return. Touka shook her head, with the rabbit wiping her tears and sniffling, giving her, Shadow and Knuckles a pleading look with her big eyes. She was in so much distress, and the three had no clue why they felt like this, but they immediately felt compelled to help her. Call it big sister/big brother/Guardian instinct, but all three made the decision to take action.

''My name is Touka Kageura, and these guys are Shadow and Knuckles. Could you please tell me who you are and what happened?'' Touka crouched down to be at the rabbit's height, asking her in a gentle tone. The rabbit nodded.

''M-My name is Cream and this is Cheese. We were supposed to deliver a package to my mother, but we got lost and then two bullies stole the package, and now we don't know what to do,'' Cream explained, with Cheese patting her back in order to console her.

''I'm sure that we can help you,'' Knuckles said, stepping up. ''All we need to know is who those thugs are and we'll get your package back.''

''Really?'' Cream wiped her tears off, giving them a hopeful look. ''Thank you so much for helping me out!''

''Chao, chao!'' Cheese cheered. Cream smiled, giving them a look of relief. The security guard who was with them had left, quite relieved to not have to deal with this, while Knuckles, Shadow and Touka followed Cream and Cheese outside, with Cream pointing at a particular spot.

''That's where I got attacked. Those two bullies were so mean,'' Cream said. Knuckles hummed in thought.

''There are a lot of people here, so someone must've seen what had happened,'' he said. ''Still, if we want to go search for them, we are going to need professional help. We should get Team Chaotix on the case.''

''The Chaotix are situated in Eas. Even if we leave now, it will take us some time to get there and back,'' Shadow pointed out. ''Any trail we have here might go cold by that point.''

''Well, we could use Chaos Control to warp to Eas, get the Chaotix and warp back,'' Touka suggested. Shadow went silent for a moment, glancing at Cream, who gave him an innocent and hopeful look, then narrowed his eyes. He was not going to let her down.

''We'll do that,'' he said, with the three taking note of Cream and Cheese's smile of relief. They couldn't help but feel glad to see these two so happy.

''I see, so two ARNav ruffians have stolen an important package from you and now you need to get it back,'' Vector said, then grinned. ''Don't worry, kid. The Chaotix will take care of this in no time.''

''Thank you so much!'' Cream clasped her hands, her eyes sparking in joy. Cream, Cheese, Knuckles, Shadow and Touka had warped to the Chaotix Detective Agency, giving Vector, Espio and Charmy a quick rundown on what had happened.

''Well, that's our job. We need to know how those two ruffians look like. Could you give us a description?'' Vector asked, with Charmy suddenly flying up, holding a paper and crayons.

''We could also make a sketch,'' he said. Cream nodded, instructing Charmy on what the thieves looked like, while Vector and Espio turned to the rest of the group.

''So, where did this theft take place?'' Vector asked.

''At the Supernova Shopping Mall in Sentoraru,'' Touka replied.

''We should leave as soon as possible as Charmy and Cream are done with the sketch,'' Espio said. ''If it's a place like the shopping mall, there should be witnesses we can question.''

Speaking of the sketch, Charmy and Cream walked up to them, holding two pieces of paper showing very crude drawings of two skunk ARNavs. Charmy was particularly proud of his sketch. ''There! We should find these two in no time!''

Vector and Espio felt Knuckles, Shadow and Touka's eyes on them, with Espio sighing. ''Look, we don't have the resources for a more professional drawing.''

''This should be enough. After all, how many skunk ARNavs looking like this walk around in Neos City?'' Knuckles said.

''Haha, that was amazing bro!''

''Don't mention it bro! Those weaklings had it coming!''

Two skunk ARNavs were laughing their ass off after managing to bully and scare another victim into giving the duo their hoverboard and run away in fear.

One of the skunk ARNavs was medium-sized with blue-gray and cream fur. He had a tall, cream mohawk that extended down to his back. He had cheek tuffs on the sides of his cream-colored muzzle and had a scruffy hairstyle along with a long, cream-striped tail that could extend over his own head. He beared a blue-grey V-shaped patch on his cream white-furred chest. He also beared pink canals, a black nose, and sharp teeth. His eyes were red with yellow sclera along with thick black outlines along the outer corners. For attire, he wore amber gloves with white volar surfaces and amber boots with tan volar surfaces, a red oval on the tongues and cream soles, both having red lining on the wrists and ankles, and white socks.

The other skunk ARNav was muscular and tall with cream and beige fur. His mohawk ran down his back with his cream stripes reaching the ends of the stub where his tail once was. He had quite scruffy fur, with his chest and muzzle looking connected. He had a pink nose with a triangular shape and short ears. He beared a W-shaped patch in the center of his chest and beared fangs. Around his black eyes with red sclera, he had extremely defined purple bags under his eyes. For attire, he wore two black, spiked bracelets with gold buckles on them and wore black and gray boots also with golden buckles.

Both of the skunk ARNavs intertwined their arms, grinning in malicious glee, and exclaiming in unison, ''Nobody can stand up to ROUGH AND TUMBLE! We're the best!''

''Setting up camp at Supernova Shopping Mall was a great idea. We just have to look at people and take whatever we want, and nobody can do anything to stop us,'' Rough said, grabbing the hoverboard he and his brother stole and started playing with it.

''Yeah, but I wish they had something better than just clothes or toys or hoverboards… Why doesn't anyone buy weapons? Or a tail?'' Tumble asked, giving his tail-stump a sad gaze.

''That's because they're not as smart as us. But don't cha worry, I'm sure we'll score big soon. We also got that package we nabbed from that rabbit,'' Rough said, pointing at the white box on the nearby dumpster lid. ''That kid fought like a maniac for it. It must be valuable.''

''Then why don't we just open it? Com'n, bro! I want to see what's inside!'' Tumble asked.

''Haven't ya heard of the saying 'best for last'? We should first see what else we can get and then open the box up when we're back at our lair,'' Rough replied, grinning.

''I guess that makes sense,'' Tumble said, immediately agreeing with his brother. Both of them were then looking out of their hiding spot at the crowd that was entering and leaving the shopping mall, and to their surprise, they did spot Cream and Cheese, now in the company of a crocodile, a chameleon, a bee, a hedgehog, an echidna and a human girl, all of them questioning the people around the mall, looking as if they were searching for something… or someone. Tumble rose an eyebrow. ''Hey, bro, isn't that the rabbit from earlier?''

''Yeah, and she decided to tattle,'' Rough growled. Both were observing as another kid talked the crocodile, only to feel a cold sensation when the kid pointed towards where they were hiding. The crocodile then called for the rest of the group and started walking towards the alleyway where Rough and Tumble were at.

''Uh, bro, we got discovered!'' Tumble said. But, instead of panicking, he and Rough exchanged. ''Finally, there's gonna be some action!''

Meanwhile, the Chaotix, Knuckles, Shadow, Touka got a lead, with Cream and Cheese following them with a worried look on their expression. She walked up to Shadow, giving him a slight look of guilt. ''I hope that none of you will get hurt because of me, Mr. Shadow.''

''No one will get hurt besides the bullies who stole from you, Cream,'' Shadow replied, but Cream remained concerned. ''We're all capable fighters.''

''I don't really like fighting. Mother always said that I should resolve any arguments peacefully,'' Cream replied, lowering her head, only to look up and smile. ''But, I'm happy about the support.''

''Chao!'' Cheese cheered, glad to see Cream cheering up. Shadow nodded in response, only to stop when they arrived at an alleyway between two buildings. Vector, Espio and Charmy glanced into the alleyway, spotting several stolen things lying on the ground and a dumpster positioned in the middle of the alleyway. As the group entered it, two skunk ARNavs suddenly leapt from behind the dumpster and onto it.

''Prepare to be in awe-''

''Because we're ready to rumble-''

''Meet the Skunk Bros, Rough and Tumble!''

The Chaotix, Cream, Cheese, Knuckles, Shadow and Touka were a bit baffled by this sudden entrance, with Rough and Tumble striking a pose in hopes to intimidate them. Knuckles narrowed his eyes and took a fighting pose.

''Be careful, these guys are highly coordinated,'' he said. Shadow, who was standing next to him, had his arms crossed on his chest and the most unimpressed look he could manage. Only a couple of days ago, he had defeated one of the most dangerous entities on Earth, and now he was dealing with two ruffians. They were nothing to him.

''They're not a threat to us,'' Shadow responded. Vector crackled his knuckles.

''If you're done with your introduction, then it's our turn!'' Vector fist-pumped, as he continued in a mix of sing-song tone and rap-speaking, ''Team Chaotix! We're detectives you want on your side! Team Chaotix! We have directives, tracking down your crime! Come along for the ride, truth can run but not hide! For long, the game is on now!''

''Shut up! You can't just steal our thing!'' Tumble growled, suddenly leaping in order to punch Vector, but the crocodile dodged it and swung with his heavy tail, sending Tumble flying and slamming against the dumpster. ''Grrr, not fair! You have a tail and I don't! You'll pay for that!''

''Leave them to me, bro!'' Rough now leapt in, only to be forced to dodge when Espio suddenly fired a barrage of shuriken at him. He grinned, only to cry in pain when Charmy stung him in the back. While the skunk brothers were busy with the detectives, Cream had spotted the box she was supposed to deliver on the ground and quickly ran over to it to pick it up, but before she could do that, she was grabbed by the scruff of her dress by Rough.

''Not so fast, kid! We stole that package fair and square and you ain't getting it back!'' Rough growled, with Cream trembling back in fear. He then saw Knuckles and Shadow rushing over to him, only to hold up Cream like a meat shield before him. ''If you two try anything, the kid will get hurt!'' Knuckles and Shadow shot him a glare, but didn't move as they feared for Cream's safety. ''Oi, detectives! Let my brother go!''

Vector, Espio and Charmy, who had managed to corner Tumble, turned towards Rough and Cream, and then slowly backed away. Both Rough and Tumble grinned, realizing that no one was going to do anything while they had Cream with them. As for Cream, she gave her newfound friends an apologetic look.

''I'm so sorry, this is all my fault!'' she cried out.

''Don't worry, kid, we'll get you out of there in no time! Crooks like these two won't get away so easily,'' Vector assured her. Cream gasped in surprise when Rough suddenly placed her down, keeping a tight grip on her arm.

''That's what you think, leatherhead!'' Rough replied, with Cream feeling her arm bruising. She suddenly spotted an angry Cheese shouting at the skunk brothers, clearly demanding to let go of her. But the skunk brothers just laughed at the Chao.

''Oh, and what do you think you'll do, squirt?'' Tumble asked while laughing his ass off. Cream and Cheese exchanged determined glances, with Cream exhaling in resignation.

''I really really don't like to fight but… it can't be helped,'' she said, then took a deep breath and shouted, ''Cheese, get them!''

Rough and Tumble stopped laughing when suddenly they were hit with a barrage of punches from Cheese, causing Rough to let go of Cream and allowing her to escape. ''Why is that little thing so vicious?!''

Once she stopped next to Touka, Cream turned around. ''Cheese, I'm safe!''

Cheese then flew back to her, with Rough and Tumble turning towards the group, clearly furious about this humiliating defeat. They were about to get their revenge, but their eyes widened in shock when Knuckles and Shadow suddenly appeared, punching both of them in the gut and sending them flying and hitting the ground hard.

''Ughh… What happened, bro?'' Tumble asked, still dazed from what had happened.

''I don't know, bro…'' Rough replied, rubbing his head, only for both him and Tumble to get startled when they saw Knuckles and Shadow approaching them with murderous looks on their expressions, both of them ready to beat the two skunks up. ''Uh, bro?''

''Yes, bro…'' Tumble glanced at his brother.

''Let's scramble!'' Rough suddenly shouted, with both getting up and running away, shouting, ''This wasn't the last you heard of Rough and Tumble!''

''Scramble doesn't even rhyme with Tumble,'' Knuckles said, glancing at Shadow, who looked like he was about to go after them, but decided against it. They turned back to Cream, who managed to pick up her package, while the Chaotix and Touka picked up the stuff the skunk brothers had stolen.

''We should bring these to mall security to they can return them to their owners,'' Espio said. Vector nodded, grinning in satisfaction.

''I'd say that this was another case completed,'' he said, only for his expression to fall. ''Although, I suppose we won't get payed for this.''

Espio elbowed him, with Vector giving him a sheepish look, while Charmy just laughed. Cream and Cheese approached them, both smiling happily.

''Thank you so much for helping me! If you have free time, you could come to my house for tea,'' Cream told them.

''I guess that wouldn't be a bad thing,'' Vector said, glancing at Espio and Charmy, who nodded in agreement. ''Yeah, we have free time!''

''Great!'' Cream then turned towards Knuckles, Shadow and Touka. ''You are also invited!''

The three in question also agreed. If anything, they could at least accompany Cream and Cheese back home. Touka then turned to Cream with a curious look on her expression. ''I was wondering, what's in that package?''

''You'll find out once we're back home,'' Cream told her.

Once they had arrived at Cream and Cheese's home, which was at a suburban area at the eastern side of Kita, they were greeted by another Chao, this one being brown in coloration and wearing a light blue bow tie. The Chao was then followed by Cream's mother, a tall, cream-furred anthropomorphic rabbit with a white muzzle, a small brown nose, brown eyes, and a tuft of dark orange hair on her forehead. She had brown eyelids and dark orange markings around her eyes and on the ends of her lopped ears. For attire, she wore a long lavender dress with a white trim at the bottom of the puffy sleeves and the skirt, a burgundy-fitted vest with golden buttons, a blue or orange ascot, white gloves with gold cufflinks, burgundy low-heeled shoes with a yellow detail and gray soles, and pink lipstick.

''Oh, my, Cream, Cheese; are you okay?'' Cream's mother checked on her daughter. ''You've been away for much longer than I had expected.''

''I'm sorry, Mother, but I got lost and then there were those two bullies who stole my package…'' Cream said, trailing off, but then gave her mother a confident look. ''But, my friends helped me to get it back, so I asked them to stay over for tea as a 'Thank you'.''

''That's really kind of you, sweetheart.'' Cream's mother turned to the group, giving them a kind smile. ''My name is Vanilla, and I want to thank you for helping my daughter. I hope it wasn't much of a trouble.''

''Heh, don't worry, Miss Vanilla. It was no trouble at all,'' Vector said, rubbing the back of his head and giving Vanilla a surprisingly nervous and shy look, feeling his own heart beating fast the moment he saw her. Espio and Charmy gave him a questioning look, wondering why Vector was acting so strange. ''It is our job as detectives to help people.''

''Hey, Vector, why are you so flustered?'' Charmy asked. Vector froze, suddenly turning to Charmy with an annoyed look.

''I'm not flustered,'' he hissed, with Espio sighing as Charmy remaining confused.

''Don't worry, I'll explain it to you when you're older,'' Espio told Charmy. Behind them, Touka cracked a grin, glancing at Knuckles and Shadow.

''I suppose you two can relate to Vector,'' she said, with Knuckles and Shadow giving her a puzzled look.

''What are you talking about?'' Shadow asked her, shooting her a glare. Touka snorted.

''You'll figure it out soon enough,'' she said. Vanilla then clapped her hands.

''Then, let's go prepare the table for tea,'' she said, turning to the two Chao. ''Cheese, Chocola, you can help Cream with the pie.''

''Chao, chao!'' Cheese and Chocola responded in unison, with Cream turning to her newfound friends, showing them what was inside the package.

''That's what I was supposed to deliver. Mother had sent me to get the cheesecake pie we had ordered from the bakery,'' she explained.

''Can't believe that Rough and Tumble went through all that trouble just for a pie,'' Touka said, giggling in amusement, only to hum in thought. ''Uh, is it just me or did we forget about something?''

''What do you mean?'' Shadow asked, only to get an answer from Knuckles whose eyes widened.

''We forgot about Lily, Rouge, Amy and Minami at the shopping mall!'' he said.

Rouge huffed, tapping with her foot, while she, Amy, Minami and Lily were waiting at the entrance to the shopping mall. ''How could Knuckles forget about us?''

''I guess he got caught up in something, along with Touka and Shadow,'' Lily said. Rouge just pouted, folding her arms.

''You'd think that he would put a bit more effort now that I'm back,'' she said. Lily, Minami and Amy exchanged sly glances.

''I don't think you'll have to worry about that. From what I've seen, you live in Knuckles' head rent free,'' Lily replied. Rouge grinned.

''That's a consolation I'm happy to accept.''

Hi! I wanted to ask you guys this question. So basically, I have this friend and we were talking about the relationships in Sonic. When they told me that Sonic x Amy was canon, I told them that It wasn't and if they had any proof but they only told me that It was the ending of the black knight (I think at the end of the credits) telling me that It was because Sonic was willing to go on a date with Amy and didn't deny anything like he usually does therefore It was "confirmed" I personally didn't see it that way and It's not like this was ever brought up again but I just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. I hope that you know what I am referring to!

Hello there. First, I would say that just because two people go on what one of them would call a date, doesn't mean that the two are automatically in a relationship. Look at it like blind dates. Just because you go on a date with someone you never met before, doesn't automatically mean that you're in a relationship with that person, right? You could be just testing the waters, seeing how things go. At the end of the date, you could decide that maybe this person isn't for you and sometimes you can think that maybe you should just stay as friends. If it took just one date to make people in a relationship forever, then there would be tons of people who would be in a relationship with many people all the time and that doesn't make sense, does it?

Second, not all "dates" with people are romantic. Sometimes you can go on "dates" with friends, which is what Sonic thinks of Amy and it is said to be so multiple times in both English and Japanese. When asked what he thinks of her, he just thinks of her as a friend or comrade, whether Amy thinks the same or not. And even in her profile, she is said to be a self proclaimed girlfriend, not his actual girlfriend, which means she just claims to be his girlfriend, even if he doesn't agree. She isn't Sonic's girlfriend and Sonic doesn't see her as his girlfriend or in a romantic manner, therefore, they're not in a relationship. That fact hasn't changed.

Third, Amy is a pushy person where even if Sonic doesn't want to hang out with her romantically, she would force him or pressure him to go on what she would call "dates," especially with violence in the old games. Due to that violence, that is why he avoids her when possible, leaves her in others' care and ends up agreeing despite not wanting to go. This can be seen in their 2021 Calendar story where when he arrives on time to go to the park with her, he says an off comment about how he shouldn't have said the roller coaster looked fun since he didn't want to be dragged to the amusement park with her. Another thing to remember about Black Knight is that in the game with Nimue, he was afraid of her and backed away from her until he realized that she wasn't going to go pursue him like Amy would. After realizing she is a different person, he was more casual with her like he is with all his friends. And when he entered the world of the book, he didn't mind not making it on time to meet up with Amy since he goes through the game without mentioning it at all, which shows that he didn't want to go in the first place much like the other forced "dates" Amy makes him go on.

Four, if you want to talk about the word "date" specifically, does that mean that Sonic going on a date with the Time Eater in Sonic x Shadow Generations, makes him in a relationship with the Time Eater? He said he has a date with the monster Time Eater, so that means that suddenly they're in a relationship? Does that mean he's in a relationship with Eggman since in Sonic Heroes, he says he has to go on a date with him? I wouldn't think so, right?

And five, Sonic has stated multiple times that himself and Amy are just friends, even when asked by Sonamy shippers. He does deny there being anything romantic between them, especially in more recent materials past Black Knight. How Sonic sees Amy since the beginning to now is that of just a friend or someone who helps him out at times. You also have to take into consideration how Sonic acts towards Amy as a whole throughout the games, not just one or a few. And games made by mainly the Western branches can't be taken as proof of things either because they purposely go out of lore/contradict lore and make things that don't make sense due to personal biasness (this includes Sonic Frontiers, Sonic Dream Team, Sonic Origins, Sonic Superstars, IDW Comics, Sonic Boom, revised Sonic Generations, Lost World, etc.).

Sonic runs away from Amy and doesn't want to deal with her when possible, that's why he leaves her in others' care like Tails in Sonic Colors DS and Emerl in Sonic Battle. When seeing her, he looks uncomfortable or displeased, which shows that he is not interested in her romantically and that he doesn't like seeing her since she is so pushy and follows him around, even if he doesn't like it. In Sonic Advance 3, he even states to Amy that they are not fated to be together (Japanese) and that they are not meant to be together. When he said this, she took out her hammer and told him not to deny it, which shows violent behavior and that she's pushy to push her perspective and feelings onto Sonic, much like how she's pushy to claim that anytime they hang out, it's a "romantic date" or that she's his girlfriend, even if Sonic doesn't see it that way. Sonic shows not to like her behavior, and even in that game, he shows not to like being paired with her if the player choses to have them fight stages together. The title "Lovely Couple(?)" comes from Amy wanting to see herself and Sonic like that, but the question mark is added to show that Sonic himself doesn't think that way, nor does he like the idea of implying that they are a couple (as stated with his answer earlier saying that they are not fated or meant to be together). Even in the original Sonic Generations, Sonic pushes Amy away due to her trying to make romantic advances towards him because he doesn't like her romantically, but he can be okay with her presence if she just keeps her distance and acts as a friend since he sees her as just a friend.

What your friend is implying can also be taken as quite shallow or rude where just because two people are the opposite gender and one claims to like the other, that means that the both of them are in a relationship and like each other despite that not being true. Would you say you're in a relationship with every person in your life that's the opposite gender that you either see as a friend, family or acquaintance? I wouldn't think so, therefore, just because Sonic is a male while Amy is a female, doesn't automatically make them in a relationship just because of that. That can be said for a lot of relationships between people of any gender where sometimes they're just friends, family or acquaintances to them. You have to look at more than just one instance to state whether someone is in a relationship or not, or whether someone is interested in someone or not. Whether you want to take it official or not, Sonic does state to Shadow that he hearts (loves) him in Sonic Prime and he showed to care because he kept on worrying about his well-being. Shadow also worried about Sonic and pushed himself to the limit to save his life. This has happened, whether others wish to admit it or not. And even if others want to claim it's a "joke," their actions towards each other throughout the show don't show it to be a joke and if one of them was a female, others, like your friend, would most likely not deny that the two are canon just because they see a male or female state to the other (or imply) that they like the other without the other denying it. But unlike with Amy where it is stated and shown multiple times that Sonic sees her as a friend and nothing more, it is stated in Japanese that Sonic and Shadow share an intimate relationship and that no one else can understand them like they do for each other. This relationship between each other is even shown, which was talked about on a recent post of ours. You can read it to see what I mean.

I hope this answers your question and gives insight on things in a more general perspective than a narrow one that only looks at one piece of media instead of many.

Of course she was guessing the entire way! And to your surprise, she didn't mention anything with taiyaki?! It's a bit surprising, sure... but at least your surprise I'd going in good way so far!

And when you finally stopped in front of your date place, pink haired girl was in middle of thinking of another guess so she accidentally bumped into you.

"or maybe we're going to- Aoh!"

She took a while to look at you confused, then looked in the direction you were facing and you could see her face brighten immidietly! It's like her eyes were dazzling and she was jumping in.place, unable to hold her excitement.

"You remembered!"

"Hehe~ Of course! How could I not?"

You almost wanted to say it's hard to miss since she brings taiyaki so often and brags about it whenever she had one but... you decided to leave your little teasing for later~

"Well, what are we waiting for?"

"Yeah let's go!!"

Thinking you're gonna be the one leading was a mistake. When she spoke, she immideitly took your hand in hers and didn't walk into the restaurant... she ran right in! Naturally, dragging you behind her~

You didn't even had to speak as she immideitly asked nearest worker where you could sit and soon, were presented with various choice of taiyaki and how it's served. You were honestly surprised there was even so many... your girlfriend too but seemingly not as much. It's like she already knew about most and finally got the chance to try it!

"There's even ice cream taiyaki!! We should get lots of it too! Oh, but I want to try the one with chocolate as well! And strawberries..."

She obviously had a hard choice... and since it's supposed to be special date for her, you decided to give her free hand so she could enjoy herself more.

"How about this... we can share like... 5 different taiyaki's today and we'll come another time to try the rest?"

"Really?! Yes, yes!! I promise to pick the best taiyaki options that are here!"

She said with this determined look on her face, letting you know that despite it sounding like just few simple words, she was actually serious as her eyes wandered all around the menu, searching for the perfect taiyaki's!

Today you discovered how picky Emu can be when it comes to taiyaki... but one thing you need to admit... her choices were utterly AMAZING!! She picked 2 classics, claiming how they were her favorite and they indeed were worthy of that title. But she also got 3 taiyaki's that are rarely served the way they are... but despite them being a bit different, they were also great!

But the best thing wasn't great taiyaki's or soothing music that played at that place... the best thing was your girlfriend's face when she tried each of them. The way she smiled with those shining eyes, like a little kid who finally got their favorite candy~ it was simply charming <3

After the date was over and both of you were walking home together, she decided to do a little summary of the food you ate.

"First! Classic taiyaki with red beans! 10/10!"

"Hm... that's classic but good... Sure, let's give it 10/10. How about chocolate ones?"

"Hm... 10/10!!"

"Heh~ Well I dunno... for me it was more of a... 9/10? It just missed something to me..."

"Strawberry taiyaki!"

"Hm... 7,5/10. Not my tastes... How about you?"

"Big 10/10!"

"How are we gonna judge them fairly if you'll only rate them 10/10...?"

"But- I can't give them anything else! Taiyaki is simply too good for that!"

You could only sigh with small smile... guess she really likes taiyaki... but that only proves to you that she enjoyed this date and you honestly couldn't be any more glad~
