Hmm, how would drummer Sukuna react to finding out reader had sex with someone else?
a/n : this idea has been nagging me for a while and this is my excuse to write it now
Tumblr media
sukuna's heart almost stops.
it almost stops as he watches you walk out one of the most famous fuckboy's dorm, in your clothes yes, but looking disheveled, with hair that's definitely been tugged on and hickeys covering your neck, and a manly cologne that was most definitely neither his or yours.
what was the meaning of this? why did he have to be here at this exact moment to see you like that?
your eyes catch his and you're wondering whether you should talk to him or not.
probably not.
so you clear your throat and you turn the other way, as if he wasn't standing right in front of you.
he’s shocked, because how could you?
“y/n.” he calls out, his voice stern but you don't acknowledge him, he doesn't know what's up with you this time, whether you're mad at him or the other dude has gotten to you.
all he knows is that he doesn't like you ignoring him and he's not sure why.
he shouldn’t care.
sukuna trudge over to you, grabbing your arm and forcing you to look at him, “i called for you.” he tells you, a scowl on his face — why were you avoiding him like that? he hasn't fucked up that bad yet — i mean, sure, the both of you haven't been hanging out much and it was a month since you last had sex but still.
“what do you want?” you ask, you still won't meet his eyes, avoiding them like they're the plague — but most of all, you seem nonchalant, too nonchalant.
“what's the meaning of this?” he asks and he can't tear away his eyes from the hickeys adorning your neck and probably other places as well — only he can leave those marks on you, nobody else.
it doesn't sit well with him that somebody else, especially a fucking fuckboy who practically lives in the frat house, having his hands all over you in that way, his lips on yours, on your skin, his body against your and —
sukuna doesn't want to think about it.
you scoff, rolling your eyes, and you tear your arm away from his grip, crossing your arms, “the meaning of what, ryomen?”
“the meaning of this.” he almost seethes, gesturing to the marks on you, “what's this about?”
“what, like you care?” you say, and this time, you meet his gaze, and he’s not sure if he likes the defiant look in your eyes.
does he care? of course he does. otherwise he wouldn't have been fucking you for this long.
“of course i do.” he huffs, but it comes out quiet and almost meek.
of course he cares about you — he doesn't like you sleeping around with other people, you were supposed to be his.
“well, you shouldn't,” you tell him, the frown on your face prominent, “we're not exclusive after all, are we?”
fuck.
he knew that that would come back to bite him in the ass, and now was the time.
it's true, in the past year the two of you have been sleeping around, sukuna has made it painfully clear that this was nothing more than just sex and having fun for the sake of it — you've nagged him about it more than once, you didn't like him sleeping with other girls either but it's not like he ever stopped.
sukuna didn't do love, never has, and never will.
but now, your words really hurt him.
at his stretched silence you sigh, turning away from him, “later, ryomen.” you call out as you walk away from him.
and he's left all alone in the hallway with a heavy heart.
jealousy wasn't a thing he's ever felt before, and it didn't sit well with sukuna.

Jackson is cold in winter.
And it’s not just because of the weather.
There’s winter festivities, holidays that you had never really had any experience with. And because of the weather, patrols were undertaken by smaller groups, leaving crowds of people wandering the streets, or trying to find work within the small community. So, not only was it cold and miserable, but it was about ten times as crowded in the communal spaces, with everybody packing into every space possible in order to preserve their warmth.
That’s not even the worst part — there’s the whole focus on family, or whatever a person in the apocalypse might have that’s close enough to it.
Holidays bring people together, Tommy had told you once, about a year ago. It wasn’t long after you had first arrived in Jackson, traipsing through the gate alone, aside from the patrollers who escorted you there.
The thing was, though, that you didn’t have people.
And it wasn’t as if you were wanting them! That definitely wasn’t the case — you couldn’t bear getting close to anybody, after what had happened last time — but you couldn’t help the more prominent feeling of isolation. You knew you weren’t alone in your feelings, after all, there were plenty of Jackson residents who had nobody, or resented the holiday season for one reason or another, but you felt alone.
You’re allowed to feel bitter about it, even if you do want to stay that way. It’s not like you had always felt this way, there was a time when you had thought yourself close to having a family — whatever the hell that was. In spring, if somebody had told you that you might feel this way, you might have disbelieved them, might have had faith in Joel and Ellie, despite your reservations. But then everything there had fallen apart, and you were left like this.
Living on your own, halfway across town, closer to Tommy, but further away than ever.
It was like that gaping hole in your chest had reopened with a vengeance, sucking any amount of trust or affection you had for the man into a void where it couldn’t be found. If Tommy hadn’t stuck you with Joel and Ellie, you might not be feeling like this — feeling so cold, and alone, and frozen despite the world moving around you. If he had just minded his business, or even, maybe, if he had just looked after you himself, rather than passing you off as nothing more than a chore, you could’ve been something at least close to happy.
Instead, you’re here. Making the short trip back from the school he had forced you to start going to, heading back to the little space you were supposed to call home. It wasn’t home, though. You had never occupied a space that had felt anything even close to that before, other than Joel’s. You’re pretty sure you’ll never live anywhere like that again.
You’ll probably live here, in the shitty garage that Tommy had someone convert for you, for the rest of your life. Either that, or until they finally have enough of you, and kick you out. Whichever came first.
Really, you should be used to being on your own. To having to do everything yourself, be responsible for every aspect of your own life, but strangely, after Joel’s, you find it hard to go back to that. Balancing things has never been your strong suit, and this only goes to prove that. And it’s aggravating, feeling as though something within you had changed, feeling as though you’re no longer capable, when you had spent your whole life looking after yourself.
Feeling like this has had you thinking some incredibly stupid things, your mind at one point trying to convince you that the only way to prove that you were capable, was to go back out into the big open world. Luckily for you, your survival instincts are stronger than that, and you’re able to remind yourself that Jackson is the best possible place for you, regardless of whatever thoughts and feelings you were having.
Besides, you wouldn’t want to give any of them — them being Joel, Tommy and Ellie — the satisfaction of your leaving. If they wanted you gone, they’d have to tell you as much, this time.
It was clear to you now, that they hadn’t wanted you there in the first place. And given the distance between you and Ellie since Joel had gotten rid of you, you gathered that, despite what you believed to be a close bond, she had never wanted you around either. She seemed happy enough, gallivanting around the town with her few friends, friends she had never even bothered to introduce you to. At least that meant you weren’t missing anything. Maybe she had actually done you a favour. Although given the way she avoided your gaze like her life depended on it, every time you happened across her, you somehow doubted that.
You’re not sure which loss was worse. Despite how close you had grown to Joel, how attached you had become, Ellie was the first person your age who you had ever trusted. You had told her things that you had never spoken aloud to anyone before. And now, you were left with a constant weight of regret, of dread, in the pit of your stomach.
Selfishly, you wanted Ellie to be angry at Joel for getting rid of you. You wanted her to fight for you, wanted her to remain in your corner when everybody else opposed you. What you really wanted, though, was for somebody to choose you. You wanted to feel important to somebody.
Though, now, you think you’ve outgrown that childish desire. You don’t want anyone around you, anymore.
Not even Tommy.
“Kid, would you just open the damn door?” Tommy asked, speaking to the plain face of your front door. He had knocked three times before opening his mouth, growing exasperated by your cold shoulder. He knew you were in there — had seen you walk home after school, when he was finishing a job just around the corner. Besides, where else would you be?
You stayed silent, sitting on the unmade sheets of your bed, staring at the door as Tommy knocked once again.
“C’mon, open the door. Please?” He repeated, and you could practically picture his stance outside, one arm resting against the doorframe and one hand resting against his hip. “Just wanna talk, alright? Then I’ll be on my way.”
You heard the heaviness of his sigh from your space across the room. But it didn’t change anything for you. How could it? Tommy had sent you to his brother, he had known what his brother was like, and he had sat idly by while you were uprooted and sent across town like you didn’t matter. Just another inconvenience. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he was also forcing you to go to Jackson’s community school, run primarily by an almost 70 year old woman, who was meant to retire a year after the outbreak.
It was ridiculous and unfair.
Ellie didn’t have to go to school.
It just felt like another method of getting you out of the way. After all, what did you need with writing and reading? Mathematics and history? The world had ended before you were even born.
Besides, you knew for a fact that Tommy had volunteered to take Ellie out shooting soon. Despite her avoiding you, you could still hear her boasting about it in the canteen to her friends.
You couldn’t help but feel like it should’ve been you. After all, weren’t you the one without anybody? Weren’t you the one who would be alone, should Jackson fall apart? Ellie would have Tommy and Maria. She would have Joel. Who would you have? Nobody.
If Tommy Miller had ever actually cared about you, perhaps he would’ve helped you work on the issues you’d been facing when you went to him for help, rather than passing you off to his older brother. You had spent your entire life depending on only yourself. Tommy had no idea what it had taken for you to approach him, for you to want help. To have that thrown back in your face, you knew, had done damage. As if you weren’t already damaged enough.
It was something you had been aware of for a long time — that there was something wrong about you. Something rotten. Like something had crawled into your chest, into the gaping cavity between your ribs, and died in there. It had been decaying over the years, leaving an air about you that told everybody exactly what you had always known: you are unsalvageable. Nothing in this world could reverse the decomposition that had occurred inside of you, just like nothing could reverse the infection that had taken the family you had never known.
The whole thing made you feel foolish, really. Your whole life, a voice inside of your head had been telling you that nobody could help you. Nobody would help you. And when you had finally gathered the courage to prove that voice wrong? It was proven right instead. It was a kick in the teeth. A thorn underneath your fingernail. Something bothersome, painful.
Tommy Miller had proven that you were just as alone as you had always felt.
He knocked against your door again, apparently content to wait you out. You had nowhere to go, but the knocking was irritating, the knowledge of his presence outside of that door was grating.
Before you could think better of it, you made your way over, and opened the door.
He looked the same as he always had done. Dressed for the weather, his favourite pair of boots on, and hair pushed away from his face, which held a surprised expression.
“Hey, kid.” He said, finally, after a moment of just staring at you in shock. It had been a while since Tommy had seen you up close. You looked more tired than he remembered.
“What do you want?” You asked, forgoing any sort of greeting towards the man. Opening the door was about as generous as you were prepared to be towards him.
His face morphed slightly, shock ebbing away, regret flowing in at the creases by his eyes, the grimace of his mouth. “Right, uh,” He paused, looking into your converted garage through the gap between you and the door. You pulled the door closer, so only you fit into the gap. “Alright, so, I know things have been… tense, between everybody, but I was hopin’ that you might join us. Me ‘n Maria are doin’ a winter’s dinner, not exactly Christmas, but it’s a day to be with family, y’know?” Tommy rambled on a bit, trying to spit all of his words out before you could decline, or shut the door in his face.
“We’re not family, Tommy.”
You watched his expression fall, which provided you with a sting that you hadn’t expected. But the sentiment remained the same — you weren’t family. Your surname wasn’t Miller. And even if it were, with the state of things between you, Tommy and Joel? It definitely wasn’t something you’d call family.
Honestly, you weren’t sure why he was coming to you with this now. Maybe before Joel had rejected you, before Tommy had watched on as any trust you had was shattered, but now? Now, he was lucky you even opened the door. You didn’t have a family, and it wasn’t a big loss to you. You’d gone this long without one, so what did it matter?
Tommy’s mouth opened and closed a few times, and he shifted uncomfortably on his feet. He was at a loss for words.
“Go home, okay?” You said, when his words continued to fail him. He swallowed, jaw clenched as his teeth gritted together. He was frustrated, though you doubted that was directed at you. More likely, was that it was directed at Joel. You knew things had been tense between the two of them recently, too.
He paused just as he was about to turn away. “Will you think about it, at least?” Tommy asked, though he didn’t look like he wanted to hear your answer. It wasn’t much of a question anyway.
You nodded, with no real intention of thinking about it. Well — no intention of thinking about attending. Thinking about the offer was a different story.
His shoulders deflated as he turned away, hearing you shut the door as he followed the path away from your place.
∘₊✧───── ───── ───── ─────✧₊∘
Even a full twenty four hours after Tommy had approached you with his invitation, you couldn’t let it go.
It felt as though something within you had snapped, falling from a great height and landing in the pit of your stomach. For whatever reason, one that you couldn’t get into now, maybe ever, you were filled to the brim with dread. It bubbled over, pooling in your limbs and making everything feel far too heavy.
You couldn’t understand why he couldn’t just let you be? Couldn’t he see that he had done more than enough, when it came to you?
Logically, you know it isn’t fair to blame him. Tommy wasn’t in control of anything his brother or pseudo-niece did. He had always tried to look out for you, and deep down, you know that he had truly believed that his brother would be good for you. He must have thought that, given Joel’s pre-outbreak experience, and now post-outbreak too, of being a father, he could’ve been that for you. Tommy couldn’t have known that Joel didn’t want another kid.
But that illogical part of you, the part that cowers away from everybody you meet, the part that was hurt, reminds you that it was his job to know. It was his responsibility to know what he was dumping you into. And more than that, Joel was his brother. How could he not have known?
You were the one who had ended up well and truly hurt from the encounter, not the other way around. So why did you feel guilty, every time Tommy’s expression at your scathing words popped into your mind? You hadn’t said anything that wasn’t true, and you hadn’t said anything that he didn’t deserve to hear. So why? Why did you feel this unending twist of dread and guilt, eating away at your bones, your tissues, your organs?
Even now, as you worked a late night shift at the canteen, washing dishes, every time the water rippled, you could see his face. Distantly, you hoped Joel had felt like this, after what he had done to you. You hoped he remembered what he said, remembered your expression when you relayed his own message to him.
If you were honest with yourself, you think that if it had been Joel, you would’ve revelled in that expression. There’s a part of you, a part that is mean and bitter and full of resentment, that wants to hurt Joel, just like he had hurt you. You settle for staying as far away from him as you possibly can.
Joel had tried to see you a few times, back when it was fresh, with no luck from you. There was nobody in this world that you wanted to see less than him. At the very least, he got the message. Sometimes, you wonder if he had only shown up those few instances just for appearances. To make himself look better. It was no secret to the people of Jackson that Joel Miller was a questionable man, with an even more questionable past. But he did more for the town than most, so it wasn’t spoken about. Nothing more than whispers, anyway.
There had been a few whispers after your outburst at the Tipsy Bison, especially when somebody shared the news of your move across town. But it was chalked up to teenage dramatics, the youth, as if there really was such a thing.
Regardless, Tommy’s invitation to dinner was coming up in a mere two days. The knowledge of where and when it was happening made you uncomfortable, like an itch underneath your collar, it was stifling. Because that part of you, the one that wants to hurt Joel, also wants company. It craves a family, and that was a craving that had only ever come close to being fulfilled once. Still, it was a natural instinct within humans. Safety came in numbers, and there was comfort in having people you could trust. You wish that part of you could just be satisfied being solitary, because you’ll never go to that dinner. Not if you have anything to say about it.
∘₊✧───── ───── ───── ─────✧₊∘
Two hours until dinner, and the sun was beginning to set.
And here you were, axe in hand, staring down at the dwindling pile of wood that you needed to cleave into pieces. It wouldn’t last two hours. In reality, it wouldn’t even last one. Still, you stare as though the logs might multiply, hoping for the excuse out of a dinner you didn’t want to go to. And you know that you have no obligation to any of those people, you do know that, but it’s hard to believe it. Partly because you don’t want to. Because you’re torn between the satisfaction of succeeding on your own, and the fear of cutting off all ties to the only people you think you’ve truly cared about.
Being alone is a lot easier in theory.
In practice, it’s harder than you had thought. You were doing okay when they all left you to it, left you to live your own life. But an invitation means something, and that’s hard to ignore.
You bring the axe down, letting the severing of wood distract you from all thoughts of invitations and dinners and meanings.
It’s about the most physical task they’ll let you do — courtesy of Tommy, you’re sure — but you relish in it. Something about it is rewarding. Reminds you of your capabilities, your survival. The cold air burns your lungs, and each swing of the axe makes your muscles ache, but in a satisfying way. And doing it like this, alone, makes you feel unmistakably powerful.
You hear the crunch of footsteps behind you, not heavy enough to be Tommy’s or—God forbid—Joel’s. You paid them no mind, leaning down to move the chopped wood into the pile you had already assembled. You grabbed another log and placed it down, and just as you were preparing to swing the axe back up, you heard somebody clear their throat.
“Hey,” Ellie said, when you turned around. She shifted uncomfortably on her feet as you failed to reply, fiddling with the gloves on her hands. “So, uh, you having fun chopping wood?” She asked, apparently trying to clear some of the tension that surrounded the two of you, that clung. You leant the top of the axe blade on the ground, and sighed. Your breath clouded in front of your face.
“What do you want?” You asked, repeating the very same question you had asked Tommy, feeling all the more certain about your adamancy about not going to that dinner. Ellie’s brows furrowed slightly, but she quickly deflated as soon as you could see the defensive air starting to rise within her.
She shifted again, before speaking. “Just wondering if you’re coming to dinner? Tommy said he wasn’t sure.”
You did your best not to scoff, mostly succeeding, as you turned back to the wood awaiting your axe. With practiced ease, your axe rose, and swung down at the wood, separating it with a satisfying crack. “Wouldn’t count on it.” You said, as polite as you could say: no, no, I’m not fucking coming to dinner. You’re not my family. You don’t care about me. I don’t care about you. There’s nothing left here.
It was ridiculous for them to send Ellie to come and convince you to attend, of all people. Their best bet would have been Maria, who had never technically done anything that had hurt you. No, all of the fault laid with the Millers, and with Ellie.
The two of you could’ve remained friends, could’ve been something close to a family, but she didn’t want that. She chose to cut you out, to isolate you even further, to disappear from your life completely, despite being the only reason you had ever opened up to Joel. It was like she had taken a knife, and cut you open, let you warm, simmer, before leaving you out on the counter to cool. To rot.
“What happened to you?” Ellie asked, as if she didn’t know, as if she hadn’t been a part of it. Like there was no reason for your shift from being warm around her, to being ice cold. She had done this to you. At least, in part.
You didn’t say anything at first, choosing to finish chopping the wood in front of you, and piling it off to the side. Finally, you turned to her as she watched you, brows furrowed, lip curled defensively. “You people happened. You all fucking happened. Is that enough for you? Is that enough for why I don’t want to go to some stupid winter dinner?” You said, not raising your voice, but hearing more anger and irritation seep into your tone as you spoke.
She looked like she wanted to take a step back, but she stayed firm. “We all have our own problems,” Ellie told you, voice harsh and unrelenting as she spoke, and her expression hardened. “Everybody does! It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, okay?”
It would have been so easy to continue arguing with her, to descend into childish taunts and quips, to disguise genuine hurt with ridiculous arguments, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. You said nothing, turning back to the depleting supply of unchopped wood.
Ellie seemed ready to burst. “Me and Joel have our own fucking problems! It’s not always good. But you can’t just give up on someone!” She said loudly, stepping towards you, ignoring the snow crunching underneath her shoes. It seemed to you that she was trying to convince herself, more than anything. Whatever she came to you with, now, wasn’t really about you. It was about her.
“I’m not the one who gave up, Ellie. You and Joel are more alike than you know. But at least he had the decency to tell me why he was giving up on me.” You told her, staying calm, despite the way your blood was rushing through your body, carrying so much adrenaline you felt like your heart may just burst.
She gaped at you, seeming more stuck on the concept of her and Joel being alike than on how she had hurt you. You figured it would go like this, though, if the two of you ever spoke again. It wasn’t a surprise to you. Everything in your life always turned out the way you expected it to. Even Joel and Ellie, in the end, had done as much, despite surprising you at first. It was inevitable. Your every worry, every fear, even the ones that Tommy had once labelled as irrational, had turned out to be true.
You wouldn’t go to the dinner.
Everything between you and the extended Miller family was in ruins, and like you, it couldn’t be salvaged. It was over with. Done.
Now, all that was left to do was wipe your hands clean of them.

10 Years Ago:
When you're a part of a crime family, death is all one usually thinks about. Every time they're sent out on a job, the members of these crime families think about the ways in which the job could kill them. Even when they're not working, they're thinking about all the ways they might die and what their family would be left with.
They expect to be kidnapped and killed, beaten to death, shot and stabbed by a member of a rival family.
Never murdered on neutral grounds.
He was in the safe zone. You're not supposed to die in the safe zone. He wasn't even doing any work, living on his father's yacht in a spell of twenty-four year old rebellion.
His sister had been in contact with him will be at been on the yacht in Monaco. When she one day stopped getting messages back from him, she knew that something was wrong.
His dead body was only discovered because of her. Because she ran to Charles, who wasn't that much older than her, and begged him to help her search through the yacht.
Charles had been the one to find the body. He'd held her back, stopping her from running in and seeing the bloodied mess on the bed. He was barely recognisable, the only indicator of who he was being the Dupont family ring on his finger.
They couldn't call the police, not or something like this. Charles had her return home to France while he and his brother recovered the body. That was the harsh reality of their lives.
The funeral was held at the Dupont family manor. The heads of family gathered around as the casket was lowered.
It was a rare moment of peace between then. The silence as his casket was covered with dirt. From the edge of the property, she was there, crying and screaming until her lungs ached.
They weren't meant to be there. The funeral was for the heads of families and a few right hand men. But Charles and Lorenzo, his older brother, stood with her as she sobbed. If the heads of families head, they didn't give any indication.
When the heads of families went into the house to conduct their meeting, the three of them crept closer. Her cried had quietened as they pressed themselves against the bricks, ducking beneath the window of the meeting room.
"This is no coincidence!" Bellowed Dupont as he looked at the rest of the heads. His right hand man, Leclerc, stood beside him, noting all of the reactions around the room.
"How dare you throw these accusations at us!" Webber shouted back. "How dare you insinuate that one of us violated the rules of the safe zone to murder your son!"
"The suggestion that my son was murdered by somebody who doesn't want to send a message to me and my family is preposterous!"
And suddenly they were all shouting over each other, making it impossible for the three below the windows to listen in. Lorenzo pressed his fingers to his lips as he stoop up slightly and peered into the window.
The calmest one was Hamilton. He was the youngest, didn't yet have any people behind him. But he was growing, and at a rapid rate. He stood and placed his hand flat on the table, silencing everybody around the room. "Dupont, what happened to your son is a tragedy, one that will not soon be forgotten. It was a crime committed by a sick individual. But it wasn't a member of any family. The way they killed him, that isn't how we do things. Our men are taught to kill quietly, efficiently. To leave no mess."
There was nothing but mess in the way that he was killed.
He was right. Every head of family knew he was right. Even if it was a tough pill for Dupont to swallow.
"But," Hamilton continued, "I am open for my operations to be investigated. As is everyone in this room." He looked from side to side. "Unless there is something anybody wants to share."
Silence fell across the room.
Suddenly, Dupont's right hand man stepped forward. "The proposal from here is to review the laws we have around the safe zone. It has always been free of weapons, but we will tighten security, have multiple check points set up."
Dupont looked towards Leclerc and then addressed the rest of the room. "Leclerc grew up in Monaco. It is where he is raising his family. To me, it makes the most sense that he heads up this operation."
The rest of the heads of family agreed. The conversation continued calmly, with the rest of the meeting headed up by Hamilton. From his place between Rosberg and Webber, Verstappen stayed quiet. But that wasn't unusual for a man this cold and calculating.
Just two days after the funeral, Dupont moved his wife and daughter to Monaco. The Dupont Manor was emptied, used only for business. Nobody knew that Dupont had moved his family, nobody but the Leclercs.
As soon as he turned eighteen, Charles Leclerc was welcomed into the Dupont family. He was insanely proud to be working alongside his father and brother, even if his job was a little different.
Where Hervé was Dupont's right hand man, effectively running the family with him, and Lorenzo did 'enforcement' for the family, Charles had a different job. Charles was assigned to guard her. She was fifteen, turning sixteen, and full of teenaged... feelings. She wasn't rebellious, not after what happened to her brother.
But she wanted to go out, wanted to make friends and have fun. Charles could let her do that. He couldn't let her put herself in danger like that.
When Charles was nineteen, about to turn twenty, he lost his father. He had been at her place, listening to her ramble about getting a job. Because, maybe if she she had a dog, Charles would let her go and have fun.
She told Charles what dog she wanted. A sweet doberman or a scary rottweiler with a silly name. One she could walk with a spiked collar and a black leather leash.
"That way, you don't have to keep being my guard dog," she had said as she sat on the sofa, her feet on his lap.
Charles had rolled his eyes at her. "You say that like I don't like guarding you, Lapinette."
He'd gotten the call after that, interrupting their conversation. The phone had fallen out of Charles's hands, but he didn’t react much beyond that.
He'd been prepared for this, just like every child who grew up in a family (well, everyone but her, but Bunny). But it was still a shock, still stung.
"Cha," she said as she sat up. "What's the matter?"
He swallowed the lump in his throat. "Nothing, Bunny." His eyes stung but he held back the tears. "Uh, I'm gonna send Arthur to come here. Lock the door after me and don't let anybody in until he knocks."
Fear suddenly filled her. But Charles brushed her hair behind her ears and kissed her forehead. "I promise, everything is fine."
She always did what Charles said. They had pretty much become roommates, him living in her apartment, the one her dad bought for her the moment she turned eighteen.
But being eighteen brought out her first moment of rebellion.
The first time she snuck out, Charles caught her. The second time she snuck out, Charles caught her.
But, with each time that he caught her, she got better. She got better and better. She got so good that Charles had to chase her down the street when he found the apartment empty.
She got good enough to not get caught. She learnt Charles's patterns well enough to sneak out like an expect. Well, if you could be an expert at something like that.
At twenty-four, she decided that her favourite place to go when she snuck out. The café that served all the different teas and the fruity smoothies. They had the seats outside with the plush seat cushions and wide umbrellas that protected her from the sun.
That was where Max first saw her. It was rare that he got to use the Verstappen apartment inside of the safe zone. But, the last job his father had sent him on had turned into a bloodbath.
His week long visit was to try and cool him off. Verstappen wasn't one to care about death, but if Max continued the way he was going, it was going to destroy Verstappens operation.
He thought he had seen an angel.
There she sat, wearing that white sundress with the little blue flowers. She sipped her fruity drink as she looked across the street. Not at him, not where he sat in his car. No, she looked to the right of him, at the view of the tree in front of the harbour. He could see her as her pencil moved against her notebook, no doubt drawing the scene.
Max watched her until the person driving behind him beeped their horn. He quickly drove away, but he wouldn't be forgetting the angel any time soon.

Fanfic prompt: Ravio and Legend have the weirdest relationship in the entire chain and it literally is the equivalent of a girl who had a perfect dream partner and then afterwards just settled for the least likely weirdo to abandon her
Like Legend definitively has no idea what a standard relationship is
It is either perfect or messy as hell with lots of issues from both sides
the chain talks about romance during a quiet moment (only the older ones over alcohol)
Time speaks about Malon and how much he loves her
Sky is not passing the opportunity to talk about Zelda
Twilight is talking about how a girl he loved left him and how he had to accept that she had left him for the safety of Hyrule
Warriors talks about some dates he had with some random women and doesn’t pass the chance to slander Cia for being a weird creep
And then Legend's turn starts
And he tells them the abridged story about how he met Ravio (because he will start crying if he has to talk about Marin)
But does it so poorly that everyone now thinks that Legend is in a relationship with a living, breathing red flag
Because who breaks into other peoples houses sets up a shop and scams you in your own god damn house
Then has the audacity to steal the weapons you were forced to rent from you if you get injured
And just rerent them to YOU
And then married you less then a month later to get a legal way to stay in Hyrule as an immigrant
And still is squatting at your house with their illegal weapons selling gig
And the only reason why you are not reporting on this madness is because you know for certain that he won’t leave you as your first lover did
Like afterwards the chain contemplated absolutely everything legend has ever done
Because his preservation skills on their adventure are not human
But he apparently sees nothing wrong with that relationship he has
Warriors already knew Ravio and his already low opinion on the scammer just dropped to below hell itself
Because no matter how much they argue Legend is his annoying younger brother who he won’t let down by letting him continue that mess of a relationship
Because Warriors knows how utterly awful such people can be and only barely escaped such a relationship himself with Cia
And now their new argument topic is about how awful Ravio seems and While Warriors is determined to make Legend see the truth about his supposedly terrible relationship
Legend not noticing that Warriors is serious about an argument for once accidentally makes it worse
Warriors: Do you think that he won't leave you if you go on adventures
Legend : he definitely won’t leave my house so no worries about that one
Warriors: ….?
Legend : I have high standards afterall
Warriors *genuinely concerned*: those are not standards that is basic decency what the actual…!?,?,”?!
Legend : he won’t even sell my stuff if he is feeling nice ,because he is a good boyfriend
Warriors: LINK WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THAT IS NOT FINE AT ALL
Legend : he also has never hurt me for no good reason so stop being hypocritical about it for no god damn reason (talking about that one time when Ravio had to slap him out of shock or when he did his stitches or similar necessary pain)
Warriors: WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK !!?!?!?,!!!?!
Legend : it didn’t even hurt that much honestly it was just a slight sting if anything
And by that point Warriors was ready to execute somebody because his brother truly says everything like it is something nice of his partner
Spoiler it was not Legend
Twilight joined as well when Legend told him how much Ravio likes bunnies and how it probably keeps their entire relationship together
Because that is just wrong to diminish someone’s abilities into just that one thing ( Legend should stop with the self depriveing jokes for his husband’s sake )
By the time the chain was in Legend's Hyrule again everyone was out for blood

It’s About Time
Tumblr media
Request from Wattpad mackleann Kayce or Lee ( you pick ) where the reader is a family friend who comes to help with the cattle branding. The pair confese their feelings and get teased by the bunkhouse gang
Driving my truck underneath the Yellowstone Dutton ranch sign I pulled the vehicle to a stop just beside the main house porch. I opened the door seeing that the area of the ranch was already set up for the branding the next morning. Getting out of the truck I shut the door seeing somebody riding up in the distance. “Well I didn’t expect to see you here this weekend.”
Whipping my head around a huge grin masked my face seeing Kayce coming up to me on his horse. “I don’t know why you’re so surprised.”
“Maybe because I thought you’d be busy. But I am awfully excited to see you.” He began dismounting his black horse comic over to me with wide open arms.
Rushing towards him I laughed, throwing my arms and legs around his waist. “You better be excited to see me, Dutton.”
“Hey I said that I was you crazy rascal.” He chuckled at me while I was hanging off his arms. Kayce was struggling to keep me from falling on the ground.
I had been a close friend of the family for years. I had been there for the family when Evelyn died and when Kayce had gone off to serve the Navy. I had somewhat of a relationship with each of the Dutton members, but Kayce and I were closer. He finally sits me down on my feet getting my boots dirty. “You better be nice to me. You know I can kick your ass.”
“Oh yeah. Which one of us has training?” He teased me, tipping his hat slightly to me.
Putting my hands on my hips. “It doesn't matter. I know how to throw a punch pretty good.”
Kayce stared down at me since he was slightly taller than me. Honestly most people would say we were always attached to the other hip. And it wasn’t a lie. I’d basically lived my entire life on this ranch.
Kayce went over to his horse leading him to the barn by the reins. “Does my dad know you’re coming here this weekend to help with the branding?”
“I’d expect so. Why did you have plans to skip?” I asked him to follow him to the barn.
He shook his head. “Nah. But your company will sure make it better.”
Together we left the barn and went straight for the main house. He held open the door for me, hanging his black hat on the wall while doing so. Walking through the living room there was a fire going and I could see someone sitting on the couch. “What made you stay out late? Daddy told Gater to wait.”
“Well it wasn’t because he wasn’t hungry. He just had someone keeping him occupied.” Leaning over the back of the couch hair in my face I whispered in his sister’s ear.
She sat her glass down, turning around to me. “Did you finally take her out there in the barn?”
“Beth!” I scolded her, feeling my face beginning to turn red.
Her younger brother cleared his throat. “We aren’t dating and you know that.”
“Rip and I may have beat around the bush when we were kids. But he knows he’s mine. Everybody on this ranch knows who is with who. You two ain’t any different.” She crossed her arms on the back of the couch.
Tapping my foot on the wooden floor I tried to remain calm about this. I didn’t need it to be painfully obvious that I had feelings for him. I didn’t want to ruin the relationship we have if he doesn’t feel the same way. But Beth had a different mind than everyone else. She knew what words could sink someone into the ground. “I’ll think you’re wrong. Now did you say Gator had dinner?”
“Walking away just means we will have this conversation later, Y/n.” She called as I walked into the dining room.
Pausing in my tracks I holler back to her. “No it doesn’t, Bethany!”
Kayce eyed his sister but had nothing to say to her. He dropped his hands down at his sides. The young Dutton knew he felt something for the girl who walked around his family home like she was always meant to be there. Maybe because he’d seen her around his whole life. She had always been a Dutton in his eyes.
“Kayce, I’m going to have dinner in the bunkhouse. See if I can beat those boys at poker if you want to come with me.” I called from the kitchen, grabbing my jacket and a to-go bag of food that Gator made for me.
He turned his head in my direction. “Yeah sure I’ll come.”
“Don’t have too much fun you two.” Beth chuckled at the two of us watching us leave going to the bunkhouse.
By the time we had got to the bunkhouse we could hear them yelling and half the alcohol was almost gone from the fridge. Sliding in on the empty seat next to Ryan he smiled in my direction throwing his desk of card’s down. “Look who decided to join the party. The future mr and Mrs. Kayce Dutton.”
“Oh not you guys too.” I rolled my eyes not expecting them to be on it with Beth.
Colby fixes the deck, dealing me and Kayce each a hand to play in their new game. “We can’t help it if you make it so obvious.”
“What’s obvious?” Jimmy asked from his bunk.
Teeter, who was fixing herself some dinner from Gator spoke up, removing the spoon from inside her mouth. “They clearly want each other just like I know my baby wants me.”
“I am not your baby.” Colby replied to her.
She smiled, turning back to her food. “Stop lying to yourself baby.”
“I didn’t think you had a thing for her, Kayce. I just thought you two were really close friends.” Jimmy entered the conversation.
I moved my gaze to the center of the wooden table not saying a word. Shifting the deck of cards in my hands I really wanted them to stop with the teasing. But Jimmy clearly couldn’t read the room correctly, bless his heart. “We are really close and that’s all.”
“But they are burning to be more.” Ryan made a kissing sound into my ear.
Kayce hit his fist on the table. “Will you stop talking about that!”
“Ohh he’s getting all embarrassed.” Jake, another ranch hand, joined in pointing his index finger at him.
Kayce hit the table again. “I swear the next person who teases us will see me fly over this table.”
Jake, Colby and Ryan about lost their shit at that statement all cheering like he had just admitted he had feelings for me when he really hadn’t. Raising my hands up I sighed finally saying something. “Can we just get back to the game?”
“She’s still avoiding the moment.” Jimmy spoke up.
Kayce raised himself up to his feet stomping over to Jimmy. He grabs him by his shirt getting in his face angrily. “That does it! What did I say a few seconds ago, Jimmy.”
“Woah, when did poker become violent?” Lloyd came out of the bathroom shortly after Walker did. Both confused at what was going on here.
Forcing myself up from my chair I stomped over to the fridge throwing it open. “Cause I apparently can’t get a beer around here with all these gossiping girls dressed as cowboys.” I mocked them for drinking almost half the bottle of beer I had taken from their stash.
“Well then let’s start this card game.” Walker sat down in my chair and thankfully there was no more conversation like that when Kayce let go of Jimmy. He left the bunkhouse leaving me with the boys and Teeter for the rest of the night which made me think maybe they had gotten underneath his skin over something.
The next morning was crazy for everyone even though we had everything set up. Coming out of one of the tents we had set up I halted in my tracks seeing the blonde that had hit a rock after an animal protest talking with him. Summer I remember her name to be. “I don’t think this place is right for you.”
“Oh don’t worry. Once I get out of here I will leave. Besides I can sense somebody doesn’t care much for me being in your company.” She turned her head slightly seeing that I was glaring at the pair.
Kayce turned his attention to her, quickly walking away from her side. “See you around, Summer…what’s got you so angry?”
“I’m not angry over anything.” I crossed my arms over my chest.
He tilted his head. “Really cause you won’t make eye contact when you’re angry. You also hug your arms to your chest when you’re angry. So what made you upset?”
“I think I should be asking you that more than you asking me after what happened last night. You bailed on me Kayce, why?” I questioned the young rancher trying to figure out why all day but nothing came to mind.
He blinked a few times with silent passing between us. “I didn’t like what they were saying about us.”
“It was just teasing right or do you have feelings for me?” I blurted it out letting my curiosity get the better of me when it came to what he thought.
Kayce stepped closer to me reaching up with his hands to cradle my face. “I didn’t like the teasing because I wanted to be the one to tell you myself. But now I say fuck it.”
“Kayce-“ He cut me off short, pressing his lips down onto mine and after that point everything suddenly stopped. Throwing my arms around his neck I brought him closer, deepening the kiss.
He moved one hand into my hair tugging on it a few times. I moaned into the kiss, finding this is better than I could have imagined. Like we were always supposed to be like this together. “I told you, boys.”
“Wait a second.” I broke the kiss recognizing Beth’s voice.
Kayce kept one hand on my wrist when I remained close to his chest seeing that Ryan and Colby were standing off to the side with her. “What the hell did you have them do?”
“We bet her ten bucks that the teasing last night wouldn’t work.” Ryan reached inside his jacket handing her some money.
She took it from his hand proudly walking past us to go find Rip. “They lost obviously. It’s about time you two finally saddled your horses together.” Kayce and I shared the same shocked look but shortly laughed with huge smiles on our faces at the well thought out plan she had achieved.
Comments really appreciated ❤️

The house was quiet. He was anticipating another night alone in the house while you were out with friends. The silence was broken by the sound of a call. He snatched up the phone and answered it immediately. 9 times out of 10 it was just you checking in or saying hi.
“Hi, baby. Everything okay?”
“Mr. Healy?” The voice on the other end was hesitant, unsure. Most importantly, it wasn’t yours.
“Kate? Where’s y/n?” The worry in his voice intensified, his mind racing through all the possible scenarios.
“Mr. Healy, we’re getting ready to drop y/n off. Are you home?”
“Yeah. Why? Is she okay? Is she that drunk?” He laughed a little at the thought. He knew you liked to drink on occasion and sometimes even use weed and he was usually fine with it as long as you were being safe and called when you needed him. He always said he would drop anything in a heartbeat.
“No, she’s not drunk. She’s...high...on something that...isn’t weed.” Kate’s words hung heavily in the air, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
“What? What was it, Kate? You can tell me.” His voice was laced with confusion and urgency.
“I don’t know. She left the room awhile ago, said she was going to the bathroom, but when she came back she was clearly on something. Something a lot stronger.”
“Oh god.” He ran a hand through his hair, his mind spinning.
“Somebody said she had mentioned Ket, but I don't know where she would’ve gotten it? We don’t do that type of stuff—I barely drink!” Kate’s voice cracked, the fear and confusion palpable.
“I know, I know, Kate. It’s gonna be okay. Where is she now?” He forced himself to stay calm. He could tell your friend was starting to panic even more.
“She’s asleep in the car. We just left.” Her voice softened, the exhaustion and worry evident.
“Alright, bring her here. Drive carefully. We’ll figure this out.”
As the call ended he sent frantic texts to the only other people who he knew loved you almost as much as he loved you, begging them to come over. George, residing the closest, knocked on the door not even 10 minutes later, worried about the vague text Matty sent. Ross came in not long after, with Adam, Carly, Charli, and Jamie all trailing from behind. He explained everything he knew, and before they knew it a knock sounded at the door.
—————
Your heart pounded as you stepped out of the car, your breath coming in short, panicked gasps. You couldn't believe Kate had brought you here, to your own house. You barely remembered getting in the car. Now - you were wide awake. "You brought me to my house?!" Your voice shook with disbelief.
Kate, her face a mask of concern, tried to reach out to you. "It’s for your own good, Y/n. We called your dad, he’s gonna help—"
Your eyes widened in horror, and she took a step back in fear. "You called my DAD?!?!"
Kate flinched at the volume, "We were just trying to help, Y/n."
"Well, just stay out of it—" You shot back, voice breaking.
The front door swung open, and Matty stood there, his face set in a grim expression. "Y/N," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Living room. Now."
You felt a surge of defiance but knew better than to argue with your father when he was in this state. "Dad—"
"Now," Matty repeated, his voice stern.
With a final, furious glance at Kate, you stormed past her and into the house.
Kate’s eyes filled with tears as she confronted your father, filled with worry and guilt. “I’m so sorry, Mr. Healy! I should have kept a closer eye on her-”
“It’s not your fault, Kate. We’ll get through this.” He managed a small, reassuring smile before turning his attention back to y/n.
Matty followed her inside, closing the door behind him with a heavy thud.
You were met with most of your aunts and uncles as soon as you walked in, mentally groaning and rolling your eyes. The room is tense. You glance around, taking in the faces of family and friends, all summoned by your father. Their presence only amplifies your frustration. You turned to your father as soon as you heard his familiar footsteps grow closer.
“You called everyone?!” you exclaim.
Matty’s expression is stern, unyielding. “We need help with this one, babe”
“Oh my god— I got high one time. I need some water and Advil, not a fucking intervention,” you retort.
“Sit down,” Matty commands, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Reluctantly, you drop onto the couch, your arms crossed in defiance. Matty takes a deep breath, steadying himself. “Weed and a couple of Trulys are one thing, y/n, but this?!”
You roll your eyes, a gesture that seems to cut through the tension like a knife. It’s a bold move, especially aimed at your father. Even in your age of defiance, you never once dared to act like this in front of your father. He doesn’t flinch, his gaze piercing as he presses on. “Where’d you get it?” You shift uncomfortably, weighing your options. “Tell me. Now,”
You let out a resigned sigh. “A friend—”
“What friend?” Matty interrupts, his patience wearing thin.
“She was prescribed it for her anxiety or something,” you explain, trying to maintain some composure. “Now she’s just been dealing it to people.”
The room remains charged with tension, but a different kind now, more personal, more painful. You sit, feeling the weight of your father’s disappointment. The silence hangs heavily before Matty finally speaks again.
“Those girls were scared, y/n. You should’ve heard Kate; she was terrified! I could hear it in her voice,” Your dad says, his voice strained.
“She’s fine,” you reply dismissively.
Matty’s eyes narrow. “You better pray they forgive you.”
“Oh my god— it’s not that big of a deal!”.
“You scared the shit out of ’em, love!” Matty’s voice rises, echoing through the room.
“You think everything was fine after I quit? I lost friends, y/n. I almost lost every single person in this room, and I probably would’ve if I hadn’t gotten my act together.”
“Well, good for you. You’re doing so great now,” you retort sarcastically, the bitterness evident.
Matty’s expression shifts from anger to confusion. “I just don’t understand what caused you to act out like this?”
“Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the fucking tree,” you shoot back, your voice trembling with barely contained emotion. He knew what you were referring to. They all did.
“Y/n!” George’s voice breaks the momentary silence, his tone a mix of shock and reprimand.
“Take it back,” Matty demands, his dangerous. “Take it back right now, y/n.”
“You can’t be that surprised, can you?” you challenge, meeting his gaze without a flinch..
“You heard of the things I went through!” Matty’s voice cracks, a raw edge to his words.
“Are you kidding? I fucking saw the things you went through! The things you put me through!” Your voice rises, the anger and pain you’ve held back for so long spilling out. “The nights you chose that shit over me! The weeks and months you left me with George because you were too high or too irresponsible to take care of me! Your daughter!”
The room goes silent. Matty’s face is a mix of guilt and helplessness, but it soon turns to anger. “Go upstairs,” Matty finally says, his voice barely above a whisper.
You stand up, your movements brisk and fast, and head towards the stairs. Each step feels like a mountain, the weight of the confrontation pressing down on you. As you reach your room, the door closes behind you with a soft click, cutting off the world outside.
—————
The next morning, you wake up to an empty house. Your father and George must have left early for the studio, leaving you alone with your thoughts. The silence is heavy, a stark contrast to the tension of the previous night. You sit on the edge of your bed, the events replaying in your mind, and decide to call George.
After a few rings, he picks up, voice chipper. “Well, look who’s up and out of her intoxicated state!”
You roll your eyes, though a small smile tugs at your lips. “I called to ask how your day was going, not to hear about my mistakes.”
“Awe, she cares!” George’s voice is teasing, but there’s warmth in it too.
“I always do,” you reply softly, the sincerity clear in your tone.
There’s a brief pause before George speaks again, his voice a bit more serious. “Your dad misses you. Won’t stop moanin’ and groanin’ about his girl.”
“You sure he’s not talking about another girl?” you ask.
George sighs. “You both said things you regret, babe. Fix it. Whatever is happening right now, it’s not worth it.”
“I know,” you admit, the guilt gnawing at you. “Thanks, George.”
“And if you ever do that tom-fuckery again, I will have your head in an old-fashioned guillotine.”
“Noted.”
Theres a moment of silence, and then you muster the courage to say, “I never said thank you for taking care of me then. So…thank you. For everything.”
George smiles a bit. “Just doing my duties as best uncle.”
“Hm.” You smile.
After hanging up, you sit quietly for a moment, absorbing the conversation. George’s words echo in your mind.
Later that day, you hear the familiar sound of the front door opening. Matty’s voice calls out, filled with tentative. “Baby girl? I’m home.”
You rush out from where you’ve been anxiously waiting, tears already streaming down your face. As soon as you see him, you crumble into his arms, mumbling through your sobs. “I’m sorry I mess up and I’m sorry for the things I said and the things I’ve done and I’m sorry you’re stuck with me and I’m sorry that I’m not the perfect kid but I really try to be and try to be that perfect kid for you and for everyone but it all just got a little much and I was trying to make things better and be an adult I guess and I got carried away and I’m sorry Daddy I’m just so sorry.”
He smiles, trying to hide his laugh at your words and ranting. He wraps his arms around you tightly, his voice soothing. “It’s gonna be fine, baby—”
“No it’s not,” you interrupt, your voice cracking with the weight of your guilt. “I messed up, I messed up bad. I made a mistake.”
“A mistake which you will never make again, correct?”
“I promise,” you whisper, your tears soaking into his shirt.
“Good. You’re not perfect, y/n. And thank god you’re not. Do you know how horrible I would feel if I had a perfect child? God, I could never keep up with you. You are smart and funny and so charismatic, and if it weren’t for you being my child, then you might have been perfect…” The tension starts easing. “But I don’t care,” Matty continues, his voice tender. “Because you are mine, and that’s all that matters to me.”
“I love you,” you say, your voice steadying as you look up at him.
“I love you most... but I will throw you in a river if you do that shit again,” Matty replies, a teasing glint in his eyes. Now, maybe, just maybe, healing can begin.

—STRANGER
—Logan had been sent back to the seventies to save the world. And to introduce a few future lovers to each other

Tumblr media Tumblr media
To say the proffessor wasn't like he expected would be an understatement.
The Proffessor X Logan knew was a wise man whom, yes had his flaws, but was nonetheless a very sensible man who only wished for the best out of everyone. He was a mentor. A teacher. A father figure to hundereds. And the very same man who was supposed to be the one in his own place, saving the world ahead of time.
But the professor next to him didn't even look like one. He just looked like—a Charles. A very scrappy man named Charles.
Being sent back to the past to scrape together the few mutants who would trust or believe him was a challenge enough. Yet somehow the universe managed to make it harder with the challenge of a few stubborn people with the habit to wallow in self pity.
Logan pinched the bridge of his nose for what felt like the tenth time in the last half hour, jaw set in annoyance as a silver haired boy in the back seat rattled off questions like it was nobody's business.
The steering wheel underneath his hand groaned with the effort he was clutching it with. From the backseat Hank tossed Logan the occasional look, somewhere between a mixture of concern and nerves.
"Where are we going anyways? I ran out of the car a couple miles back and were driving in the opposite direction of the pentagon. Don't tell me you're kidnapping me. I don't think you'd kidnap me. You're too old for that." Peter's voice was non stop. Question after question after question. Like a talk show host. Similar to a talk show host, most of his comments flew right over everyones heads as white noise. But those few particular ones seemed to catch the attention of the other occupants in the car.
"Yes. Thats—that's actually a good point Peter." Charles pointed out, grunting as he adjusted his seatbelt in the passengers seat. He looked rather uncomfortable, and Logam chose to assume he hadnt been out of the run down school for a while. Much less in a car. "Where exactly are we going now Logan?"
"To see a friend." He grummbled. Charles raised an eyebrow, wating for more context, but he offered none.
"Are you always this grouchy man?"
Hank shut Peter up with a kick to the leg.
"I just figured we might need to pick them up. Good for the break in. And my sanity. If were gonna break Erik out I'd rather have somebody to keep us all in check there. Their one of the people I actually like where I come from." Logan eventually relented, taking another turn with the car, leading them all on a gravel road now.
"Them?" Peter piped up, dissapearing with a woosh before appearing right where he had been before. Hank jumped, still not used to it. "You mean the person living in the uhh little brown house two miles from here? It has a nice apple tree."
"The house wasnt brown when I knew it, but yes."
"Do we get to know about this mystery person or are we just supposed to go along with you and walk into some strangers house? We dont even know them." Charles said skeptically whilst cleaning his sunglasses on his shirt.
Logan had to stop himself from smiling.
"You'll get to know them eventually alright."

(Y/n) honestly was fine living off the map. Well it wasn't really off the map per say, just tucked away in a place where few people ever thought to pass by. Besides the occasional gas station or two, there was nothing bit plain empty highway for miles around. The only person who ever came to visit regularly was the young woman who delivered their mail every Saturday.
"Alright! I'm coming I'm coming! Hold on a minute!"
(Y/n) struggled with pulling a spare jacket they had laying around over their black shirt in an attempt to look put together. Nearly tripping down the stairs two at a time it was a miracle they ended up at their front door without any missing teeth.
Their eyes had bags under them, days of sleep seemingly have evaded them. Smile lines and small scars took up the rest of their face like a map detailing every inch of the world. Despite being in their mid twenties, they looked like they had seen more than most of the full grown adults out there.
"I didn't think the mail came untill Saturday Jane! What did you miss me or something?"
Their words faded out as soon as their front door had swung open, giving way to the sight of four very different looking men.
"You're not Jane." They squinted suspiciously.
Logan nearly chuckled at the tone—meant to be intimidating but friendly all the same. Same (Y/n) as always.
"Sorry to disappoint, but we need your help." He kept his distance, letting them test the situation. Litteraly.
Logan knew that if Charles has his powers, he would have been able to feel as (Y/n) entered not only his but all of their heads at once, reaching deeper and deeper untill they found the emotions resting deep inside of everyone. And based on the way that they opened the door for wide enough for them to walk through after a moment, he figured they must have found them too.
Peter wasted no time touring the house, gusts of wind sounding up and down the stairs, (Y/n) blinking once or twice before shaking their head as a result.
"Mutants?" They asked, sitting at the bottom step of their stairs with their head in their hands. (They sat just off to the side so that way they wouldn't get in the way of Peter's joyride around the place.)
"You tell me." Was all Logan said before showing them his hands. Judging on the way (Y/n) scrunched their face up he figured they could feel his pain as his claws broke through skin.
"And now you have boney thingies coming from your knuckles. I'd like to go back to bed now please." They mummbled.
"Listen, we didn't come here to chat." (Y/n)'s focus redirected itself from the guy with the claws in front of them to a new face, accompanied with a brisish accent. And some very odd tastes in style. They wondered if he had cut his hair himself. Or not at all.
Most of all, they could feel the exasperation and exhaustion rolling off of him in waves. Along with a lot of other emotions they couldn't directly decipher. A first in the usage of their powers to say the least. The empath could only get a read on his surface emotions; none of the important ones.
Maybe it was that or the way he seemed to demand apt attention as he spoke, but (Y/n) turned their body to face him with curious eyes. Silently challenging him to continue. It was a stark change in attitude from the disbelief they had been expressing moments ago, but this was not uncommon in an empath. Especially from one such as them.
Logan stepped back with the hints of a genuinely amused smile pulling at his lips, pushing back a very confused looking Hank with him (who at this point was just there to be the civil one).
It was always a sight to see when the two future lovers would get into an in depth conversations. Like watching a game of 3D chess from some other dimension. You knew the basics, but that was all. The real meaning of it all was left to the players.
"I don't know why Logan has brought us here but it must be for a reason. As all things are. But you must know that the world is in grave danger. I do not know what level of convincing I need to do to get you to come with us but—"
"I'll come."
Charles stopped to peer down at them through his sunglasses. (Y/n) didn't break eye contact. He felt like they were looking stright through him and into his heart.
"One thing you must know about me, I tend to act off of emotions." They smiled to themself, Charles getting the feeling that he was missing some sort of inside joke. "And I have a hint you all aren't here with bad intentions. At least not to me."
Peter appeared next to Hank once again, his hair wild from a few minutes of running around the same area and carrying what Charles assumed to be various things from (Y/n)'s household; all casset tapes.
"I like them. Good taste in music. I say we bring 'em." He zipped over to the stairs and sat next to them, wrapping an arm around their shoulders confidently while offering then some gum.
"Would it upset you if I called you Speedy?" (Y/n) said while taking it.
"Not at all, new friend."
That was how they ended up locking the door to their house and leaving a note for the mailman detailing how they would be gone for a bit, everyone waiting by or in the car.
"Now, tell me exactly why you seem to be so fond of this person." Charles asked, leaning against the outside of the cars red exterior next to Logans large figure. He kept an eye on (Y/n), not quite sure why he felt compelled to keep track of them. "Do you fancy them or something?" He ran a hand through his long hair, tossing a small and tentive wave at them upon catching their eye.
Logan nearly choked on his laugh.
"Not quite professor." He outright laughed aloud. Something Charles had yet to hear from him. "Just make sure to send me an invitation to the wedding when you finally work up the courage to propose in a few years."
He smirked at Charles' face, eyes now the size of dinner plates.
"Now off to go commit a federal crime. And get your fucking feet off my dash Maximoff."

Louis’ Brother - Matty Healy x Reader
Summary: a halloween party leads you to meet Louis’ older brother, who seems just like the love of your life.
Warnings: Slight mentions of smut, nothing too fancy.
A/N: listen to Cate’s Brother by Maisie Peters!!!
English is not my first language !
Tumblr media
You knew that Louis’ older brother was a singer. You’ve met his parents, and they both were celebrities. Hell, you’d even helped Louis make some audition tapes during your late college years.
But you were surprised when you met his brother, formally.
You were standing in the middle of the kitchen of a party you had thrown on Halloween, while Louis told you about his weekend, as well as Cate’s (Louis’ girlfriend), until noticing the way your mind drifted away, so he decided to change the topic.
“Y/N, have you met my brother?”
Your head pivoted in surprise from where you were holding it in your hand, and you looked at Louis wide-eyed.
“No I haven’t.”
Louis opened his mouth, but by the corner of your eye, you saw someone coming over. A curly haired man, quite plainly, with a face really similar to Louis’, but slightly tougher. He was slightly taller than Louis, and his face was a sheer reflection of something fun and witty. He was attractive.
You gulped.
Why did you find him attractive, of all people?
“Hello,” he said, stepping up to the countertop of the kitchen where Cate, Louis and you were standing. He greeted Cate (he knew Cate?), and then his brother, only for his eyes to land on you at last “Y/N, you’re a full grown woman by now, not the toddler that ran around naked in our backyard.”
Fuck.
“Healy,” you said, smirking back at him “you’re not the kid that bit on crayons while Louis drew at my house, right?”
Matty chuckles, and you see the way his eyes slightly close when he laughs. It’s cute, sweet even…
Shut up.
No more daydreaming about Louis’ brother.
“What have you been up to since we last saw each other?” Matty asked, taking a pint out of the bucket next to you. His curls moved almost in slow-motion “Christmas, right?”
Right. He’d been all night talking to his dad and you’d been drinking to death with Louis. Neither of you had directed a word to each other that night, yet he remembered.
Oh, this little crush was gonna last for a while.
“Yes,” you said “Christmas. I was really drunk. I’m probably going to be drunk tonight too.”
Matty laughed, and his eyes lingered to your lips when you took a sip of your drink.
“And well, uh, answering your question,” you hoped the damn lights covered your blush “I have just been working. Living with Louis, we’re flatmates.”
“Yes, he told me.”
Oh, and he had listened.
“Ah, okay,” you said “what have you been up to?”
“Working” he said back with a smirk.
You raised an eyebrow.
“Playing gigs I expect.”
“Yes, exactly.”
“Of course. Is your band as big as Denisse paints it? I know she’s fond of you guys, not very objective…”
“We are big, have you not listened to us?”
“Should I have?”
Of course you had.
“Yes, probably, come on, not even to Somebody Else?”
You broke in laughter, and Matty took a deep breath in, looking at you with a playful smile.
“I got you there.”
“Sure thing love” he answered nonchalantly, looking you up and down as he took a sip of his pint.
Love? Oh, we’re fucked.
The next time you see Matty, it’s a double date… Well, not exactly.
Louis, Cate and you went to the movies together, pretty often, and it wasn’t uncomfortable or anything. They both were your best friends over their romantic relationship, so the three of you always had a great time.
This time it was much different, it wasn’t supposed to, but Louis told you over a text that Matty decided to join y’all because he was in town and didn’t have much to do.
He was still in town a week after Halloween, really? Why? Why couldn’t he leave you and that little crush you’d developed on him alone?
So you found yourself standing at the entrance of the movies, tapping your foot exasperated while waiting for Louis and Cate. Not Matty. No, you had put on makeup because you felt like it, not for Matty.
Not at all.
He showed up first (of course).
“Y/N,” Matty greeted, looking you up and down “looking good.”
Fuck.
You blush and you cough, trying to hide it, but his smartass smirk tells you the opposite.
“Yeah, you too I guess.”
He does, and it’s irritating because he’s always wearing those suits… That make him look terribly handsome. At the Halloween party it was a black suit and white shirt, black tie, and now it was a black suit too, but no tie and a navy blue shirt on.
He looked hellishly handsome, and it made you want to vomit.
“You guess?” you huff as Matty asks this, looking rather disappointed on your answer “I look good, I know I do.”
“Alright mister Congeniality.”
He narrows his eyes at you as you bite back your laugh, and you thank God that Louis and Cate arrive at that certain time.
Cate goes to buy the tickets while Louis and Matty chat about stuff, making updates on their lives, you guess. You take yourself to the snacks to buy some popcorn and some candy, and as soon as you get back, Matty practically bolts to you to dip a hand on the popcorn.
“Oi, that’s mine” you protest, and he snickers.
“Ours.”
The way he says that… Ugh!
You roll your eyes and let him have a handful of popcorn before entering the room of your movie, and you groan as you notice it’s a scary movie.
“Cate! Why a scary one?”
Cate frowns and Matty laughs, obviously about to tease you.
“A tad scared, are we?”
“None of your business.”
“We’ll see.”
Of course, Louis and Cate have to sit together because they’re a freaking couple, but it still makes you grumpy as you sit down and the trailers begin.
“You’re always this mad?” Matty asks in a whisper as he leans against you to take another handful of popcorn.
You do not take a sniff at him (he smells like cigars and soap, but that’s because he’s too close).
You do not take a look at his slicked back curls, which are contradictorily falling against his forehead, making him look even more gorgeous.
Hell, you can’t think these things about Louis’ brother.
“Nope,” you answer, slapping his hand away from the popcorn and taking some for yourself “it’s you.”
“I feel flattered.”
“Don’t, every coincidental idiot makes me feel like that.”
“And how many coincidental idiots have you met?”
“A handful, but you keep sticking around.”
“And expect me to, because I have next weekend free too” Matty winks at you before focusing on the start of the movie.
You shift on your seat and pull the popcorn in between the two of you, so he at least is a couple of centimetres away from you and he doesn’t have to lean in (so you don’t accidentally smell and look at him, of course).
The movie starts, and your leg at first bops up and down, until the first jumpscare. You frown as you see Cate hugging Louis' arm, trying not to think about it and instead tightly closing your hands so you don’t do the same with Matty. That would be a really big and dumb move.
“Hey,” his whisper in your ear makes you jump, and you turn to him and hit him in the arm anything but gently “auch.”
“Don’t whisper in my ear in the middle of a scary movie” you whisper back to his face.
“Sorry, I just wanted to ask you something.”
“Well…?”
Matty takes a deep breath before asking, and he leans into you again. This time you don’t stop him, it’s because of the question, right? No other reason, why would he have any other reason?
“Do you like Louis?”
That startles you.
“Huh?” your eyebrows knit together in confusion before scoffing “No, he’s my best friend, quite literally like a brother.”
Matty’s eyes linger to Cate, and then to you. Oh, he’s seen you frown, he surely thinks…
Wait, he saw you frown, which means he was seeing you while your eyes were glued to the screen.
Oh.
You shake your head.
“I like Cate.”
“I’m sure you do” you roll your eyes.
“C’mon Matty…”
He raises both eyebrows at the informality.
“This is the first time you call me by my name.”
Fuck.
“Shut up and watch the movie.”
“Alright…”
As your eyes turn to the screen again, another jumpscare surprises you, and this time your hands go to Matty’s arm almost instinctively. You stop touching him in a second, almost as if his skin burns you, but it’s too late, he’s already smirking all proud and… And smugly, you guess.
“Shut up.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
“You didn’t need to.”
Matty chuckles before he reaches for your hands, putting them in his arm once again.
“It doesn’t bother me.”
Oh… We’re so very fucked.
Louis made a party, a small gathering really, next Friday. You exchanged numbers with Matty, and in hopes of not hearing from him at all really, you were a bit surprised to see him text you every now and then to tease you in some type of way.
So it wasn’t any shock when he texted you asking if you were going to the party. You said yes, an obvious yes since you practically live together, you had to be there whether you wanted to or not.
It was Cate, Louis, some mutual friends you two had, and Matty and… George, Matty’s best mate. He brought his girlfriend Charli along, and soon enough, the party turned into a rave.
You were doing some shots with Louis when Charli joined you, so you had to restart out of politeness, of course. It’s safe to say the three of you were hammered to no end when your friends started diving onto the pool.
Matty watched everything from one chair outside the pool, chuckling along George. You went over the two of them with Charli by your hand.
“He likes you” she said as the two of you made your way to your- Matty and his boyfriend. No, not Matty’s boyfriend, Matty and Charli’s boyfriend, George.
You needed to sober up.
“Who?” you ask “George? Yeah. He also bit crayons when I met him.”
Which is a complete lie, but you were drunk and wanted to cause some chaos.
“George ate crayons?” Charli erupts in laughter “I was talking about Matty!”
You look confused.
“Yes, Matty also bit on crayons.”
“No– Girl, focus!” the two of you finally make it to the boys, and Charli throws herself on George’s arm. He takes his girlfriend by the arms, smiles at you, and runs inside the house to get her some water.
You also want to throw yourself to Matty, but instead, you throw yourself on the chair next to him.
He likes you.
You huff.
“You’re not drunk?”
“Do I seem drunk?”
“You seem irritated.”
“That’s because you’re drunk, love.”
“No shot Sherlock,” you sit on the chair and turn to look at him, “you’re wearing the navy blue shirt again.”
Matty raises both eyebrows in surprise as he looks down.
“I am.”
“You look pretty in blue,” before you can think it through, you said it, and you’re blushing and widening your eyes in panic “I- I mean, you don’t look bad, but to be fair you don’t look bad in anything– You-You know? You’re average. Good looking but average. Everything looks good on you, I mean you…”
Matty laughs out loud and throws his head back in fun. You’re so embarrassed you look down to the pool with a frown.
“I get it” he finally says.
You turn to look at him.
“I think you have to.”
He laughs again and grabs a beer from the table in between the two of you.
“I do,” Matty says with a crooked smile “would it help if I said you look pretty in blue too?”
Oh yes, you were wearing a light blue dress, one of the few dresses you used when you had gatherings with your closests friends, so it was pretty tight and it looked good on you.
You blush.
“A bit.”
He chuckles again and takes the beer by the side.
“Look at this love.”
“You’re not going to…”
And of course he shotguns.
You laugh as he does this, excellently so. Not a single drop of alcohol falls from his mouth, and your mind wonders whether he’d look good with some juices in his chin and his stubble…
Shut up.
You gulp and he finishes the gun, throwing it to the side.
“Fancy laying with me while the drinks lay off?” you ask with a smile as you lean back on the chair.
“Comment on my shotgun, I’m sure you have a brilliant thing to say about it.”
You bite on your tongue before speaking.
“It just adds to the Congeniality aspect, you know?”
Matty euros in laughs once again and you can’t help but think about how good his voice sounds all raspy and hoarse.
A few hours go by. You don’t feel drunk anymore, the people leave except for Matty and Cate. Louis says his goodbyes to the two of you as he leaves with Cate to his room, and you pick up your legs on the chair so they stay against your chest.
“Matty?”
“Yeah love?”
Again love?!
“I’m feeling rather tired.”
Matty’s head full of curls pops from the chair lounge, and he sits up.
“Do you want me to help you get to your bed?”
You sigh and shake your head, sitting up.
“I’m not drunk anymore.”
“Prove it.”
You raise an eyebrow.
“You’re goddamn irritating, that’s how I prove it.”
“Fair enough, you returned to your mad self.”
But instead of getting up on your own, you take Matty’s hand, due to the fact that he’s offering it to you. Not because you want to touch him, nope.
You get to the kitchen and you realise the speakers are still on, playing Nirvana. You chuckle and sing along in a hum as you pour yourself a glass of water.
“Want anything?”
“Water. Without venom if you can.”
You roll your eyes and pass him your glass, filling another one for you.
“What time is it?”
He looks at his watch.
“Almost three.”
“Oh fuck,” you curse under your breath, chug down the glass and turn to the speakers to turn them off “it’s really late and one’s gotta work, you know? Not all of us are popular singers in a band.”
Matty laughs behind you, and you can sense his presence getting closer.
“I can’t imagine.”
“I’m sure you can’t…” your mind trails off, but you can’t ask the question as discreetly, so your hazy mind asks straight away “Do you have a girlfriend Matty?”
He goes silent. You put the glass in the sink and turn to him. He’s looking at you with wide eyes and a slight smirk.
“No.”
Your mind goes blank, and Charli’s voice echoes.
He likes you.
“Oh, I thought…”
“No,” he repeats, interrupting you and stepping up to you. You notice he gets his hands out of his pockets, and you gulp once more “do you?”
“No” you answer in a soft whisper.
Matty smiles before crashing his lips into yours.
You breathe him in. Taste him. He smells of cigars and cologne, tastes of beer and peppermint. It’s addicting, the way you cling onto his shoulder as he kisses you and holds you by the waist.
As he pulls apart, you pant against his lips.
It doesn’t take him long to start kissing you again, this time moving to your room in between kisses and laughs as the two of you collide with everything and anything in your flat (why are there suddenly chairs and tables everywhere?).
He opens the door, he crushes you against the door, kisses you and kisses your neck, then moves onto your bed and the both of you collapse into it.
Your mind wanders as he takes off your shirt.
“Is this for real?” you ask in between kisses “Are you for real Louis’ brother?”
Matty chuckles as he takes off his shirt– God his tattoos– and he parts your legs to sit in between them.
“Yeah, I’m for real.”
“I really like you.”
Matty caresses your naked back as you lay in his chest, your cheek against it as your mind wanders a bit more. The after sex glow isn’t enough to get your mind relaxed.
“I hoped so” you say sarcastically.
“Well, I do,” Matty says with a sigh “and I’ve been since we met at the Halloween party.”
“Me too,” you confess, popping your head up to put it beside him, on the pillows of your bed “are you gonna last, Healy?”
He chuckles.
“I will,” he says, and puts a hand on your cheek, tracing with his fingertips your jaw, your neck, the love bites he left behind “I won’t lead you on. I’m not like the others.”
You raise an eyebrow.
“Very much what I expected,” you joke, and Matty snickers “how can I know you’re for sure? It’s only been… Three weeks. A summer.”
Matty smirks, leans into you, captures your lips in another passionate kiss, licking your lower lip and then kissing your cheek with sweetness and lingering wanting in between.
“Let’s go to my house tomorrow, let’s tell mum and Louis.”
Oh he was… He was serious. His eyes told you the truth, he wanted this to work out because he liked the way you bantered, you played with each other, you craved each other.
“Okay” you nod, and he smiles, kissing you once more.
And now, you were dating Louis’ brother, Matty Healy.

He didn't know where he was. It all happened so fast. In one moment he was up against a weird devil fruit user, and in the other, he was laying in the cold, white snow. Sanji gets up into a sitting position, supporting himself up with his hands. He looks around, observing the terrain around him. It seemed like a village, surrounded by snow-covered mountains. The wooden houses gave him the feeling that this wasn't the most modern place he's ever been to, but it was beautiful. One thing bothered him though: there was nobody.
He found it weird that noone was here, he couldn't hear any noise from the houses either. No happy kids playing in the snow, no old people chatting away on the benches, nothing. Sanji gets up, curious where everyone went. Does anybody even live here anymore? Or is this just a long forgotten inhabited village, and that's why it all seems like he was thrown back in time?
Not knowing where to go, Sanji mindlessly roams the area in hopes of finding someone or something that could help him out. He trusted his crew and that they will get him back somehow, he wasn't worried about that. He knew that there was nothing he could do about the situation, given he didn't even know where he was. But he needed food and shelter until the others find a way to reunite, and in a village he is likely to find these.
Sanji knew that there was something wrong with the village. He would ocassionally see remains of blood splatters on the walls, or broken windows and doors. Maybe he was right, this is an abandoned village. But the blood seemed like it's been there for only a day, meaning that there might be survivors of whatever is going on here.
One thing catches his eye: a giant castle on the side of the village. He could see some faint light from the windows, even if the castle was far from him, meaning that somebody is likely living there. Should he go there armed? No, he got his legs and wits, and he couldn't find a weapon anyway. He stands in front of the grand, stone gate in front of him, the castle on the other side of it. Sanji takes a deep breath, and pushes it open.
He steps trough it, findig a snow-covered trail surrounded by leafless trees, a carriage a few metres away from him parked on the side.
"I've been waiting for you, Mister Vinsmoke." A man speaks, sitting in the carriage, dressed in Victorian-era clothing.
"How do you know my name?" Sanji stops in front of him, curious how a strange man he never met knows his name.
"Blackleg Sanji, the Wing of Strawhat Luffy. I tend to know lots of things, Mister Vinsmoke. The word from the village is proven to be the truth, then. Though I must say, that castle arouses suspicion."
"Yeah, and so do you."
Sanji didn't like how this seemingly merchant knew things about him and called him by his father's name. He preferred to go by Blackleg, the name coming from his real father's, Red Leg Zeff.
"And who do you might be?" He inquires.
"I am but a humble merchant." The man chuckles.
"Here?"
"Forgive my manners. Call me the Duke." He finally introduces himself. Sanji didn't fully trust this man.
"Earlier you said that the castle arouses suspicion. What did you mean by that?"
"That place is full of nothing but blood and death. Nobody ever comes back from there. It's under the management of Lady Dimitrescu." The Duke explains.
"Lady Dimitrescu?" Sanji murmurs to himself. A castle under a woman's rule? Maybe this place isn't so bad after all... "Thank you for your help."
Sanji walks away after this, heading towards the castle. Now he was even more curious about it. Does the castle look more modern on the inside? Who is Lady Dimitrescu? Could he live here until the crew defeats the devil fruit user and he can get back to them? He was hoping that this woman will be kind enough to give him some ingredients to cook and a room where he can sleep. The castle was big anyway, she probably wouldn't mind if he stayed there for a bit.
Here he was, at the castle's entrance. Sanji gupled as he opened the door, trying to be as quiet as possible. He closes them behind himself as quietly as he opened them, and makes its way further into the castle. He was amazed by the interior. The floor was clean, the shiny wooden planks and the sole of his dress shoes creating a clicking noise as he explores the hallways. The walls were a dark shade of green, with some brownish-crimson wood elements, it all looked straight out of a tale.
He stumbles upon the main hall. His eyes widen at the sight. The room is illuminated by the light of the candles placed on the huge chandelier, a large, intricated staircase leading to the second floor while the white tiles shine on the floor. Sanji is mesmerized, findig the whole setting elegant. He was suddenly snapped out of his trance by a voice behind him.
"Who are you?! And what are you doing here?!" Sanji turns around to find a fuming girl standing there, dressed in an all black dress, the hood of it on her head, her eye makeup matching the colour of her outfit.
Sanji froze. He didn't expect this.
"A-are you Lady Dimitrescu?" He shakily asks.
"No, but if she finds out you're here, you'll end up just like all the other men. Same if my sisters find you. They have a lot less self control than I do..." the girl approaches Sanji.
~○~
You stare at the man in front of you, his slightly dissheveled blonde hair covering one of his eyes, the black suit he was wearing perfectly fitting him.
"What do you mean by that, ma cherie?" He asks.
"Mother hates men. And just intruders in general." You tell him, remembering what happened to the last person who entered the castle. Your mom did seem to like the wine made from his blood.
"I-I mean no harm, I promise! I just need cooking materials, and I was wondering if I could sleep here? Please, I'll make food for you, just let me stay for a bit. Just until I can get back to my crew!" He begs, holding your hands together.
You wanted to decline, to send him away before your mother or one of your sisters find him, or before you end up killing him yourself. But he looked at you with such kind eyes, and it seemed like he wasn't scared of you at all. Did he not know anything? About who or what you were? That you could tear his throat out any second? He was holding your hands so gently, like you could break at any moment, staring at you with his cerulean eyes.
"I can't. You came to the worst place possible, run while you can." You break free from his touch, turn around and head back to the direction where you came from. It was for the best. If he stays, he'll just get tortured and killed.
"No, please, I-" he starts, but can't find the right words to finish. So, he just stood there, not moving a muscle, waiting for you to change your mind.
"Who is this manthing?" You hear an all too familiar voice behind you. You turn around, only to see the man with wide eyes, your mother looming over him. Of course she did, she was eight foot tall. This was the end for the man, you knew it. But he did nothing wrong, and he just felt different, you can't just hand him over to your mother.
"What have I told you about men?" Her voice was menacing, and if looks could kill, you would be dead right now.
"I know mother, and I apologise. I stumbled upon him by accident." You explain.
~○~
Sanji didn't flinch. He didn't move, he froze. He didn't turn around to see who or what was behind him, he could feel the presence and see the huge shadow created by the person. His mind was going a million ways, not even being able to focus on the conversation you were having with who he assumed was your mother. One thing he did notice was how your expression changed when you saw her, how you looked so... afraid. Did this woman behind him do something wrong to you? Your complete aura changed, it was noticable. He knew that there's no way he'll fight a woman, and he also knew that the crew won't be here to save him this time. This might be the end for him. He feels as the woman behind him breathes down his neck, then suddenly bites into it.
Sanji grunts, the teeth of the woman deep in his throat. He didn't know what was going on. Is this how he's going to die? No, because the woman pulled back, and he was still alive, standing, breathing, and he could still feel as his heart was beating in his chest. He could hear the two women talking, but his mind was too out of its place to understand what the conversation was about. And that was the last thing he knew before fainting.
~○~
He woke up, chained to the wall in some unkown room. The quiet cracklig of the fireplace gave him a slight comfort, but the pain wouldn't go away. He had to figure out an escape plan, quick. He tried to wiggle himself out the handcuffs, but to no avail.
Just then, a bunch of flies flooded the room, all in the same spot until the seemed to merge together, forming a human-like figure.
"Didn't know you could do that..." he quietly says.
"There are so many things you don't know about me, Vinsmoke Sanji." The girl from earlier says.
"How do you know my name? My manners seemed to dissapear when we first met, i apologise."
"The Duke. He sometimes pays us a visit. He was here this morning while you were here, passed out."
"Well, I didn't even ask you your name, ma cherie. I'm Sanji, I'll get you out of here in no time." Sanji smiles down at her.
"Hm, to me it looks like you're the one who needs to be saved." She looks up at Sanji, who was still chained to the wall. She was right.
"I guess you're not here to save me. Going to bite?" He asks.
"I could. I warned you about my mother and sisters, you didn't listen. Look where it got you."
"What will they do with me? A bunch of pretty ladies sucking all my blood out? It's a better way to go than some I can imagine."
"Don't worry, it's gonna be quicker than that. And a lot more painful. Mother said you'd make some pretty good wine."
"I can in fact make wines, if that's what you wish for."
"Not like that."
"Oh."
The awkward silence set in before being broken by the girl's sigh as she took steps towards Sanji.
"What are you doing, cherie?"
"You want to die here? You mentioned that you got a crew somewhere. Think about them at least." She says, her hands on Sanji's handcuff holding him to the wall. He feels as the first handcuff loosens, and he pulls out his hand from it, looking at the girl in disbelief.
Both handcuffs fell off Sanji's hand, freeing him. He was speechless. This girl that he met yesterday, the one whose mother possesed major hatred towards men and the person who tied him up like this, who could end his life right in this moment just saved his life.
"I don't want to leave you here. Please, come with me. I can see you're not happy here with her." He holds his hand out for the girl to grab, but she doesn't do it. Instead, she looks down, and Sanji knows he was right. She really didn't like it here.
"I... I can't." She holds back her tears, her nails digging into her palm. "A few seconds in the cold air, and I freeze to death. And I mean I turn into a literal ice sculpture and die. I'm not a human like you. I might even end up causing you harm. You felt what my mother did to you. She's a vampire, and so am I."
Sanji is quiet for a few seconds. He doesn't know how to reply. He didn't want to leave her here to suffer under her mother, especially knowing that he could've done something about it.
"That's not a problem. I'll keep you warm if that's what is holding you back. I trust you that you won't bite me. You could've done it the moment we met, but you didn't. I don't care if you are a vampire, we have stranger people on the crew than that. Maybe our talking reindeer could even help you so that you won't freeze to death when it's cold."
She was stunned. This man she met yesterday spoke so kindly to her like nobody ever did before. Not her mother, not her sisters, nobody. She wanted to go, to join the crew, to be free, to know Sanji better, maybe the other crew members too. Talking reindeer? She was interested. She only knew the definition of "friends" from books she was forbidden to read, but now she could have the chance to experience what it's like.
"I... I'm just an experiment, I..." she tries to protest, holding back tears. She wanted to leave, really, but her mother wouldn't approve this. She never got to experience life outside the castle, or see what was outside the walls.
"Looks like we have something in common, then." Sanji warmly smiles. He knew what it felt like. "But now I have a loving crew, and most of the times I forget this part of my past. You can do it, too." He gives reassuring smile. He can't leave her here.
He was right. She lived here so long, the village reminding her every day of the reason of her existence, that she's just the product of some crazy scientist woman's experiments. But now she can leave this behind. Just like Sanji did.
She looks down at Sanji's hand, still held out for her. This time, she places hers into the blonde's, ready to leave.

Jin was right. As the boys were all dressed and ready to head out for the day, they definitely didn’t expect you to be standing there at the front door. Your hand was frozen mid air, as if you were going to ring the doorbell.
“Oh!” You took a step back in surprise. You had stood there for a good 5 minutes, totally unnoticed by the staff of the mansion.
“(y/n).” They all spoke, not bothering to mask their surprise as well.
“Sorry, is this a bad time? I can totally come back again and-”
“No, it’s not. Please, come in. We can talk inside.” Namjoon regained composure first, gesturing towards the inner sanctions of the house. You bowed your head respectfully and removed your shoes before walking behind them. You sat with them in the living room once again, giving you a sense of deja vu. Jungkook ordered drinks and snacks.
As the butlers and maids rushed to fix drinks and snacks, not having prepared since the owners of the house were supposed to be out working the entire day, you sat there, wringing the material of your skirt.
“Calm down.” Taehyung placed a hand on your shoulder and you visibly relaxed, just a little.
“Young masters, agashi.” The butler bowed as he placed the tray of drinks down. With a wave of his hand, Namjoon sent the staff out.
“I... I wanted to apologise, firstly.” You suddenly stood up, bowing deeply to all of them. Another unexpected action from you. The boys all looked at each other, unsure of how to act or respond.
“I’ve been selfish and insensitive. Whatever my relationship was or... wasn’t with that man, I shouldn’t have been acting so immature. Sorry.” You said, head still bowed.
“(y/n), i-tt’s fine. Let’s sit down and talk.” Jin said, going forward as you straightened up. He gestured for you to take your seat again.
“You have all lost somebody, who I am sure... is... was... very important to you. And instead of grieving, you’ve been having to chase me around and pacify me. That wasn’t fair to you.” You looked at all of them. Jimin rolled his eyes, keeping his gaze on the side.
“I’m sorry.” You repeated.
“(y/n), it’s okay, really. Stop apologising.” Hoseok said.
“Idiot. I told you not to let the words get to you.” Yoongi sat up from his leaned position on the armchair. You pursed your lips, knowing he was referring to your conversation that happened when he was at your place a few nights ago.
“What Yoongi hyung said aside, we’re glad you came, (y/n). It was also our fault for pushing you and letting things get so far. We want to apologise for that.” Namjoon said.
“Hyung-”
“Jimin.” Jin stopped the younger from interrupting their leader. Taehyung patted his best friend on the hand. A silent signal to just let it go.
“I don’t really know where to go from this. My mother, she was my world. And if she believed in me working with you, for some reason, I should try. And like you said, I’m being targeted, if this grants me safety, so be it.” You confessed.
“But I don’t know anything in business.” You added.
“I’m not going to lie, we were not expecting that. But thank you, (y/n). I would say, don’t worry. We will guide you slowly on how this words, as necessary. But I think, we should get to know one another more before we get into all that business stuff.” Namjoon spoke, the first one to recover from being stunned by your words.
“Yeah. We’re the best at what we do. Don’t care about not having the skills and whatnot.” Hoseok nodded in agreement.
“So filial piety is what moves you.” Yoongi added.
“Yes. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. But I should at least give it a chance. If I don’t like it, I get closer to knowing what I really want.” You replied. Yoongi raised his eyebrows in amusement at you rephrasing his words.
“But, I... still can’t accept him as my father... I’m sorry.” You hung your head down low.
“We understand. Take your time. Fresh wounds take time to heal. Don’t force it.” Jin reached over to squeeze your shoulder.
“Thank you for taking the time to speak to me, even if I don’t deserve it. I should let you all get back to what you were doing now.” You stood up, rubbing your slightly sweaty palms on your skirt.
“First thing to learn, don’t speak of yourself as an inconvenience. If we didn’t think you’d deserved it or that you were a bother, we wouldn’t have given you the time of day. Trust me, we’re busy people.” Hoseok stopped you. You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
“Shall I take you home?” Taehyung asked.
“Actually, can I speak to Namjoon sshi in private?” You requested meekly. The boys all paused, turning to the leader, who just remained stoic.
“Sure. Right this way. We can talk in my office.” Namjoon said. He guided you to his office. You bowed to the other 6 before rushing after Namjoon. You followed him up the stairs.
“Can I get you a drink?” He asked as he closed the door behind you.
“No, thanks.” You said. He gestured for you to take a seat while he sat down in his seat, on his side of the desk.
“I-I just wanted to apologise to you... the most. Since we met, I’ve just been a horrible person. I’ve been stand offish and unfair.” You sighed.
“(y/n), (y/n). There’s nothing for you to be sorry about. I understand, I’ve not exactly been the bearer of good news since I showed up at your door. Anyone would have felt and reacted the same way you did, I don’t hold any animosity or resentment. In fact, I think I’m still reeling from the shock of you being here and accepting this quickly.” Namjoon confessed.
“Well, I wouldn’t really say accept. More of... try. If my mother thought I could do it, I guess she saw something that I didn’t. Or maybe she’s just a hopeful parent, wanting her child to succeed.” You shrugged.
“But I will be safer with you all?” You asked.
“I believe so. There are guards and security in place to keep you safe. Rather than being alone in your house without any guards.” He said.
“Do we know why I am targeted yet? Like I said, I don’t know anything... My mother never really told me much about her life. I’m still finding things out now, even after her death.”
“I promise we’re trying our best to find out why you’re being targetted and by who. Although, it is probably because you’re the daughter of your father and now that he isn’t around anymore, you could be the target to attain his company.” Namjoon explained.
“I see...” You gulped.
“(y/n), even if you don’t work with us, you can still be protected by us. You don’t have to force yourself to work in the company just to be granted protection.” Namjoon assured.
“But I can’t just ask you guys to help me without anything in exchange. It is not fair and right to do that.” You said.
“Let’s be realistic here. Theoretically, if you don’t like all this or it doesn’t suit you, what will you do then?” Namjoon leaned forward on his elbows.
“I’ll sign my rights as the head of the company and my inheritance away.” You declared. Namjoon seemed to contemplate your words for a moment before nodding his head, understanding.
While you were speaking to Namjoon, the other 6 had not left the house for their scheduled meetings yet.
“When did you get so close with her, hyung?” Taehyung asked.
“We’re not close. We just had a meal and talked.” Yoongi shrugged, not giving much away.
“The one that would have the most information on her would be Jin hyung.” Hoseok pointed out. Jin didn’t react. Whatever he knew was not relevant to information that the others needed to know.Jimin rolled his eyes and walked away. Jungkook noticed and chased after his older brother.
“Hyung. You okay?” Jungkook asked as they entered the garage carpark downstairs. Jimin stopped, his back still facing the youngest.
“Do you believe her? Everything she says.” Jimin asked, leaning against the hood of his car with a bitter chuckle. He took a hit of his vape before stuffing it back into his jacket pocket.
“What’s there to believe? If she wants the work, she can work. She came here to apologise. What else?” Jungkook put his hands into his pockets, an indifferent look on his face to show that he didn’t really care.
“I don’t like her.”
“I think you have made that very clear.” Jungkook replied.
“Why are you all being so nice to her? Just because she is our boss’ daughter? We never let anything into our circle and now look. It feels like we’re falling apart trying to chase after her.” Jimin yelled in frustration.
“We’re all doing this to help Namjoon hyung. Namjoon hyung wants to make this work, not because she is our boss’ daughter but beccause it was his promise to boss before he died. He couldn’t make up with her so he wants us to do it in his stead. Besides, we haven’t really given her much of a fighting chance.” Jungkook said.
“She’s our boss’ daughter but what about us? Didn’t we all see him or regard him as our father? The way she treats him like nothing?” Jimin asked.
“But that’s not exactly her fault, hyung. Yes, he was a father figure to all 7 of us. But what about her? She was abandoned, just like all of us were by our own parents.” The younger spoke truthfully.
“I know...” Jimin stood up, blinking back his tears. He entered his car and drove off, leaving the maknae there, standing in the carpark.
“Jungkook. Why are you just standing there? Ready to go?” Hoseok came downstairs.
“Yeah...” Jungkook shook his head to regain composure. He entered the car, where Hoseok was waiting for him in the passenger seat. Starting the engine, he began to drive.
“What, Tae? Why are you looking at me like that?” Yoongi asked.
“Nothing.” Taehyung slid off the bar stool and walked out, slipping on his jacket. He headed towards the front door, where his driver was waiting for him. Jin gathered his things, tucking his iPad under his arm. Seeing the oldest ready to leave, Yoongi stood up.
“What? You reluctant to leave?” Jin teased. Yoongi rolled his eyes, walking off and leaving Jin behind. Yoongi dropped Jin off at his meeting location before heading to his own work place.
After speaking with Namjoon, he offered to drop you back home. When you came down with him, you noticed that the living room was empty.
“Must have all gone to work.” Namjoon said.
“Wow.” You couldn’t hold back your shock when you followed Namjoon down to the basement garage. There were so many expensive cars lined up, it was a lot. You followed Namjoon to one of the cars, a Bugatti.
“Watch your head.” He cautioned as he opened the passenger door for you to enter. After that, he went to the driver’s side and drove to your house.
“If you ever need help, here is my number.” Namjoon handed you a card as he dropped you off.
“Thank you, Namjoon.” You received the card with two hands. You opened the car door and walked into your house. Like the others, Namjoon waited for you to go in before driving off.
“Oh my gosh.” You sunk onto the ground, putting a hand over your racing heart. It felt like your heart was beating too fast to the point where you felt nauseous. Where did your sudden confidence come from? That you would voluntarily go down to the mansion and speak to the 7 men like that. But now, your facade could break.
RINGGGGGG
“Huh?!” You jumped in shock, fumbling for your phone.
“Oh, hey Wonwoo... Yeah, I wasn’t feeling well, that’s why I haven’t been at university. It’s mainly online work anyway.” You pressed the phone between your ear and shoulder.
“No, you don’t need to come down. I’m fine, really. I should be better by tomorrow.” You dug through your fridge, looking for something to eat.
You’ve skipped university for three days without a note or message, which probably worried Wonwoo. But with everything else, university was the last thing on your mind. Only Wonwoo would notice your absence anyway.
“No need, I’ll just collect my work from the professors. Thanks... I’ll see you tomorrow.” You said and hung up.
Jimin didn’t know where he was driving to, he just kept driving, letting the loud roar of his car’s engine fill the air. He never liked change, he didn’t like new people, he was happy with what he had now.
The fact that his brothers are so ready to accept you was beyond him. He didn’t know what your intentions were and from his duties in Bangtan, he learnt not to trust people so easily. He has met all kinds of scum from all walks of life and he knew there was always an ulterior motive.
RINGGGGG
“Yes, Namjoon hyung?” Jimin answered.
“Are you going for the poker game tonight? The secretary minister will be there for an information trade.”
“Right... I forgot about the game tonight... Since there’s an information trade, I’ll go. Jungkook and Jin hyung won’t be able to go in my stead. Let me know where tonight’s game is later.” He replied.
“Alright, I will prepare the address and ask Jin hyung for the information packet to hand over.”
Jimin possessed a combination of Jin’s card game skills and Taehyung’s deception skills, which made him the best person to play these low profile, high stakes games. He knew how to read the players and the game.
“Boss.” The staff greeted Jimin when he walked in.
“How’s business been?” He asked as he inspected the space and the bar. He hasn’t been checking in on the businesses since Namjoon told him to take a break so he was using this time to ensure that operations were still running smoothly. The manager made Jimin a drink and handed him the money from the previous nights of work.
“Not bad...” Jimin commented as he counted the money on the bar counter. Clubs were the best place to earn money.
“Here. Take everyone out for a good dinner. For working hard despite my absence.” He handed the manager $1000 from the stack. The manager’s eyes widened as he received the money.
“T-Thank you boss!” Everyone bowed deeply.
“Continue to work hard.” Jimin said as he put the remaining money into his pocket and left. There were still other places of business to visit.
After he was done with his inspections, Jimin needed to head home to get ready. He picked out a nice suit, one that was more opulent than what he would wear for work.
“Jimin?” He heard Hoseok’s voice outside his door as he was doing his hair.
“Come in.” He replied, not turning away from the mirror. The older came in with a few boxes and placed them on the dresser.
“Here, your order came in. Just in time, I’m guessing.” Hoseok informed. Jimin put the hairdryer down and looked through the boxes. He pinned the rose diamond brooch to the collar of his suit jacket and picked out other accessories to wear tonight.
“Could you help me put the rest of them in my closet?” Jimin requested. Hoseok nodded and put the rest into Jimin’s already full closet. He sat down on the couch Jimin had in his room.
“What?” Jimin stopped, turning around to look at the other.
“You good?” Hoseok asked. Jimin shrugged but nodded his head, facing the mirror again. He fixed his earrings in place.
“I know you’re here to talk to me about (y/n). There’s nothing to talk about, I don’t have anything else to say.” Jimin said, going into his closet to retrieve his shoes, deciding to go with his chelsea boots that had a small heel.
“Okay. But Chim, don’t feel like we’re against you or suddenly on her side against yours, alright?”
“Mhmm.” Jimin hummed. He stood up as he was done getting ready. Hoseok followed him out of the room and Jimin locked his room doors.
“Good luck tonight.” Hoseok wished.
“You know I always win.” Jimin smirked. Now, he needed to find Jin to get his information for the trade tonight. When he arrived at his door, there was a note and a thumbdrive taped to the wood.
‘Sleeping, do not disturb. To Jimin, this is what you need. - Jin’
Jimin tilted his head but removed the thumbdrive, peeling off the tape. He slipped the small item into his jacket pocket and went to find Namjoon. The leader was in his office, on the phone with someone. Seeing Jimin poke his head in, he waved for him to come over and slid a folder over to him. It had some information and a picture of Jimin’s target for the night.
“I’m going now.” Jimin said and Namjoon nodded, giving him a thumbs up as he listened to whoever was on the other side of the phone.
“Young master Jimin, the car is ready for you.” The butler informed. Jimin walked out and the chauffeur opened the door for him. Since it was expected of him to drink, Jimin never drove.
With the address, Jimin watched as the car entered a residential area. It stopped before a rundown fishing shop.
“A fishing and tackle shop? Seriously?” Jimin scoffed as he wore his sunglasses. The chauffeur opened the car door for him to come out. He pushed open the shop door to enter but the cashier paid him no mind.
“Right this way.” An employee led Jimin to the back, opening a door that led to the basement.
“Welcome, Mr Park.” A more well-dressed hostress greeted him.
“Can I take your jacket?” She asked.
“I’ll hold onto it. My drink is rum, on the rocks.” Jimin informed. She nodded with a bow and led Jimin further in. She opened a door where Jimin saw the game already running. He went to the bar first.
“Rum on the rocks.” The bartender placed his drink onto the black marble counter top.
“Mr Park. Glad you could make it tonight.”
“Secretary minister. Of course, I wouldn’t miss a game organised by you.” Jimin planted on his fake smile as he shook hands with the secretary minister. He was the organiser of this underground game, all a ruse for him to exchange information with Bangtan.
“I look forward to seeing you play tonight.” The old man smiled. Jimin just nodded his head. After that, he walked away. Jimin scanned the room from his position at the bar, there were many notable politicians and celebrities.
“Here.” Jimin handed a tip to the bartender, taking his glass to the table.
Everyone was focused on the game. No one noticed the note taped to the bottom of Jimin’s glass or the thumbdrive wrapped in the tip bills Jimin handed to the bartender.
Tonight was going to be a good night to play.

This chapter is brought to you by the song “Killer Queen” by, you guessed it, Queen!
The dream made you wake up, your body slowly coming back to reality as your eyes blinked over and over, trying to un-blur what you had seen. It was morning already, how much sleep had you gotten?
“I will never understand what that is.”
You’ve had this dream before, you’ve remembered those details though you wish you could forget. It was like you lived it a thousand times over, and you knew there would be no running from them, no matter how hard you tried.
“Ello there Blaze! Time to wake up! Everyone wants to meet you.” You heard the muffled voice of Jubilee say
You got up, walking to the bathroom to see yourself. The light bags under your eyes showed how tired you were and how much sleep you hadn’t gotten. Wait, when was the last time you slept? So, you begrudgingly went to the door and opened it, seeing Jubilee turn to face you, looking you up and down.
“Gee Blaze you okay? You like you haven’t slept at all.”
“I’m alright Jubilee. I just need something to eat.”
“Oh good! You’re gonna like Gambit’s cooking then!”
Gambit cooks? Well somebody has to in this house and between him and all the other X-Men… he looked like he was the only one who had any sort of cooking skills. Logan might as well have eaten an animal he hunted, Beast looks like he doesn’t eat all that much, and even Cyclops looked like he relied on Gambit to keep everyone fed.
“Hey everyone! Good morning!” Jubilee shouted as she walked into what looked like a living room
Everyone sat at a table, Scott and the woman named Jean sitting at the counter as you saw Gambit wearing a crop top and had his tied back, cooking something over what you believed like a stove.
“Hello there Blaze it’s nice to met ya.” A woman with dark hair and a couple strands of white hair said
“Oh um… hello.”
“Shy thing ain’t ya? Don’t worry sugar I don’t bite. A friend of the X-Men is a friend of mine.”
You nodded at the woman, using your one hand to grab the bicep of your other arm, showing a sign of confusion and worry while the woman guided you to a spot at the table.
“Anyways I’m Rogue.” She said as she put a hand on your shoulder
“N-nice to meet you Rogue. It’s nice to meet you all, on better terms.”
The man called Logan sighed, stabbing into the food that sat on his plate. An unfamiliar woman with white hair sat across from you, letting Rogue sit next to her.
“My name is Storm. It’s a pleasure to have you here at the manor Blaze.”
You nodded, waiting for something to happen.
“Bon Appetite!” You heard Gambit say next to you
He places a plate of some sort of bread-like food in front of you, the top covered in some sort of white fluffy powder. You tilted your head in confusion as you grabbed a fork to gently poke it. What was this thing? It sure looked good though.
“It’s just a beignet mon âme. It’s not gon’ jump at you.”
He’s standing right behind your chair, a hand gently patting your head as you stabbed into one with the fork. Brining it to your mouth, you saw the fluffy powder fall off a little. Once you tasted it, it felt like a sweet heavenly piece of bread. You had to have more, so you dove in to eat every single one… and there was 10 while everyone else had about two or three on their plates.
“Goodness gracious you sure are hungry ain’t ya?” Morph asked
You could only nod, the food filling your belly slowly like you hadn’t ate in years. You could feel every eye on you, seeing a tiny smile on Gambit’s face out of the corner of your eye.
“I guess somebody likes your cooking Remy.” Rogue replied
“Hey, ca c'est bon.”
Gulping down a full one, you looked around the room, every pair of eyes on you like you were someone foreign that they needed to study.
“What? Is something wrong with my face?”
Morph, Rogue, Jubilee, and Cyclops started laughing.
“We’re glad to have you Blaze.” Jean added as she walked up and put a hand on your shoulder
You turned to look behind you, catching the glance of Jean’s blueish eyes staring at you. One second you were in the kitchen… and now you sat at an empty table somewhere on the Express. About five feet away stood a different red haired woman, in a long dress that went down to the ground. Her eyes… you felt like you recognized those eyes.
“I know you…”
And you were back in a second, putting a hand to your head to stop the spinning that you could feel inside your body. Immediately, Scott and Jean held you up from slumping onto the table.
“Blaze? Blaze!” You heard Scott say as your eyes closed a little
“Blaze wake up. Come on I know you’re in there.” Jeans voice spoke inside your head
You opened your eyes, slowly sitting straight as you shook your head and felt the feeling of spinning go away. You blinked a few times, back in the kitchen with your plate still in front of you.
“You okay?” Jean asked
“Yeah… just peachy. Augh that hurt more than last nights.”
Your eyes opened wide, rendering yourself fully awake. You hadn’t realized you said that out loud after a few seconds until Rogue gave you a puzzling glance.
“I mean I’m fine. Just a bad dream. That’s all it is.” You added
“Are you sure?” Scott asked
“Mhm. I need a second outside.” You answered
You stood up, a hand still at the side of your head as you took a few steps outside the door, feeling the sun on your face as you let go of your head and letting your arm fall, closing your eyes as you stood in the sun and felt the light breeze around you. It was quiet, the silence calming you as you started to feel a little better.
“You okay there Blaze?” You heard Rogue’s voice say next to you
“Yeah… I think so. Just a bad dream I had last night.”
There was silence between you two, deciding to sit down on the grass where the two of you could oversee the woods from yesterday.
“I know what it’s like to hurt yourself… with your own powers. Mine relies on touch… so I can’t touch anyone unless I have the gloves on.”
“I just want to remember what I was before I came here. Where are my friends? Do I have a family?”
You looked up, your vision aimed at the sun. Your eyes became clearer, seeing and feeling the sun on your face as the feeling of warmth slowly came back to you. The sun felt… safe.
“I wish I could help you Blaze. It’s a shame, I know. If I was you, I’d do anythin I could to get home as well. Granted, I’m sure you will one day soon. Maybe for now you need to focus on yourself and slowly take time to get familiar with yourself.”
You could only nod at Rogues words, feeling the weight of your situation setting in. You were stuck… stuck in a place you had no idea about.
“I’ll let everyone know you’re-“
“No no. I’m okay. I just needed some air.” You said standing
Rogue stood up as well, following behind you as you walked back inside. Gambit, or Remy as you’ve learned so far, leaned up from his spot against the wall.
“I got it from ‘ere Rouge. Good ole Cyclops said maybe we should do a training exercise in the Training Room.”
“Is that wise? She just got here and it’s barely even been 24 hours. How sure are you that she’ll even live through one drill.”
“I have faith in ‘er. She can do this. Even Cyclops and Jean agree.”
Rogue sighed, turning to look at you as she stood by your side. She then looked to Gambit, walking past him as you felt more eyes stare at you. You turned your head, staring into Gambit’s crimson-black eyes, his eyes seeming to stare into yours, a sign he was looking for something in them, anything.
“Come on cher. Let’s get you there.”
Most of the walk consisted of you walking behind Gambit, staring at the walls and ceiling around you.
“Ain’t much to look at eh?”
“Hm?”
“There’s not much to look at inside this mansion, unless you’re big blue furry man down the hall. Ain’t much here.”
You followed Gambit down some stairs, walking into a steel hallway with different doors around you both. He walked up to one, putting in some sort of code in what looked like a lock pad. Huh… that felt familiar to you.
“Oh come on Fille there ain’t anyone here.”
You looked at him up and down, trying to understand what he just said to you. His words didn’t sound normal every now and then. Gambit just grabbed your hand and pulled you in with him, your eyes quickly spotting Logan, Scott, Jean, Jubilee, and Storm.
“Good to see you’re alright Blaze. Do you know what this room is for?” Scott asked
You shook your head no. You felt anxious, your hands feeling shaky in this large metal room with only one way out, the way you came in.
“This is how we train. Don’t worry, Jean and I have something easy planned for you.”
“Alright! Come on Blaze over here!” Jubilee shouted as a fully destroyed city was built in seconds
You run, sprinting as fast as you can just before diving behind Jubilee and a mini wall, both of you sitting there.
“Alright Blaze it’s yo time to shine!” Gambit shouted
Jubilee pushed you, making you roll into an open area where a giant mechanical robot stood tall above you.
“Oh crap!” You shouted as it fired beams from its eyes, making you run around while your teammates hid
“This isn’t helping!” You shouted as you jumped on top of a train on its side, slightly broken as if it had seen war
“Storm!” Scott shouted, stretching out her name as a sort of warning
“Blaze! I can’t see you!” Jean shouted as you ran through the fire and smoke slowly clouding your vision
You ran, jumping over flaming objects and dodging the beams being shot at you. Why did it seem like you were getting targeted?
“Why are you running? You are stronger than it, so fight back.”
Your brain clicked off for a second, feeling your body turn as you closed your eyes, feeling your legs sprint for their life. As you opened your eyes, you noticed you were running up the robots long arms, about to cross the threshold of its made-up elbow. Ferocity filed your veins, a burning desire to fight back and destroy anything in your path was what drove you now. You jumped high into the air, feeling lighter than the air itself. Your veins burned as your fingers grew talon-like nails, the spark of a flame burning around your first as you struck the robot where its heart would’ve been. It wasn’t just the will to fight back… it was the desire to kill and destroy.
“Rise hidden-sun… world condemning dragon!”
Tumblr media
An echo was heard around you, booming off the robot itself and the half destroyed buildings as well. Wind kicked up around you, feeling every single ember, grain of dirt, and metal part hit you like how a meteor strikes a planet. Your strength felt amplified by a thousand percent, the single strike you made tearing apart the robot and reducing it to pieces on the ground. You barely had time to register what had happened as your body felt weak, falling to the ground from the air, landing into something much like steel. The strength was gone in a matter of seconds after the hit, now you were reduced limp trapped under tons of metal and cement.
Meanwhile…
Gambit pov
“Shit! Jean! You and I will go restart the program! Jubilee get out of here in case it gets worse! Logan, you and Gambit look for her! Storm see if you can calm the fire in any way!”
Scott took off, Jean flying right over him and through the metal door and off to the side of the frame, Jubilee going through in a rush to look for someone to get Blaze out while good ole Wolverine helped me scale the destruction.
“Crap. I can’t smell anything except ash and burning steel.”
“Come on Logan we can’t give up now. She needs help, and that’s what we X-Men do.”
Logan only sighed at my response, quickly scaling up the overturned buses as I went diving through windows to find her. The smell of ash and melted rubble filled my nose. Wherever she was, Blaze had destroyed every single thing around her. Heck I didn’t even get to see what she did. All I saw was the flame rise, the Sentinel burning from top to bottom as Blaze came falling from midair.
“Blaze!” I shouted through the rubble
Nothing. I hated that silence. Surely she couldn’t die that easy right? She survived a damn fire once before so surely she could do it again.
“Come on, come on Blaze where are ya?”
Through the smoke, I saw the crumpled form of a young woman, long grey hair covered in ash and slightly burned at the ends. Her form was motionless, trapped underneath iron pillars about a hundred times bigger than her. I couldn’t even see her breathing…
“Blaze!” I yelled as I ran up and over pillars and broken down walls
She was silent as I stopped by her side, pushing two fingers against her neck right below the jawline, feeling a faint pulse.
“Don’t you dare fucking die on me now Blaze!”
I quickly tried to pull her out from under the rubble, to no avail. I had two options, go find help and hope I found her in time or I wait this out and try to get her out myself.
“Fuck it. I have to-“
Blaze started to stand up, pushing off the rubble like it was mere paper, stopping as she used her hands to prevent herself from falling forward while she was on her hands and knees. She shook her head, long silver hair flowing as she came back from being unconscious.
“Gambit? That you?” She asked as she pushed off the rubble easily
“Yeah. It’s me. Scared me there for a second Blaze.”
“Oh. Did the thing go away?”
“It’s done. Let’s get ya out of ‘ere.”
She walked slowly up to, slowly climbing behind me as we scaled a large overturned bus. I could hear her behind me, faintly, but managing to keep up with my pace.
“Gambit! Blaze!” I heard ahead of me
Logan came rushing, Cyclops and Beast right behind him. It took a couple of seconds, but Logan was right next to Blaze and be a crutch for her. I could see the faint color in her eyes, but she was still hanging on.
“Sweet god how did she survive that?” Logan asked
“Don’t know. Was that a fluke Scott?” Jean asked
“No! I made it so it would stand still and just move a little!”
“Well CLEARLY it decided to otherwise.” I answered
“Enough. We have to get her to the lab.” Beast spoke up
We all walked down the hall, Scott walking behind us all as he closed the massive door to the room. He looked around in hesitation, something the great leader of the X-Men never does.
Some time later…
You sit at the table, holding some ice against your skull. Whatever you did, it hurt like all hell. Heaven forbid you even do it again, maybe that’ll hurt more than this one.
“Gee that looks awful. Do you need anything Blaze? I’ll get you whatever you need.”
Rouge’s kindness could be felt somewhere inside your heart. Although… did you have a heart? You felt lost, abandoned, forgotten, hell maybe even empty. It felt like something was missing from you… but you couldn’t remember what or why. Is this why couldn’t you feel anything from anyone else?
“Oh I’m okay Rogue. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure it’ll be okay in a little while.”
“Oh hey Rogue how’s the rookie?” You heard behind you as you turned in your seat
“Easy Remy. She’s had a rough couple of days. Scott doesn’t wanna strain her body and mind.”
“Gambit wasn’t gonna do that to the poor girl. Was just wonderin’ how she was feeling.”
Rogue sighed and crossed her arms, leaning against the table by your side as you both stared at Gambit.
“It’s da’ truth!”
Rogue took a few steps, pushing Remy out of your way as she ushered you forward go to bed and rest. Reluctantly, you decided to go up to bed. Would you even fall asleep tonight? Would those nightmares leave you alone at all?
“Maybe it can’t be helped…”
To be continued…
A/N: sorry this took so long I’m just starting the third week of college on Monday plus I’ve been going out to do things with my bf every now and then too. Hope you enjoyed!

Fire and Water Pt. 5 (Massimo x Reader)
Tumblr media
Look my guy I got inspired by the song Trust issues the weeknd remix and shameless Camilla Cabello, this might need multiple parts but I have seen you guys ask for it and I think it’s time for me to serve and for you guys to eat… also I would like to say thank you to @severewobblerlightdragon I have noticed them liking my stuff and almost always lives a comment I really appreciate it.
Part 4
The way (y/n) took over Massimos house resembled to a tiger being released from its cage, authority suited her as she strolled around with her chin high and her eyes making grown men shiver and scurry away after mumbling “yes, miss”.
Massimo observed her with his lips in a thin line and his hands curling to a fist, however he knew that any type of reaction would cost him an unbearable amount of power, her family was the only one that came to his aid, the only source of support and protection if he moved even in the slightest way that displeased (y/n) he would be left with nothing.
“A charity ball?!”
“A way to celebrate your success and show to everyone you are left unbothered and unharmed, a gracious move to invite every important person from our cycle and reconcile while standing tall despite the attempted assassinations”
“If you want to wear a fancy dress do it somewhere else, I thought we were supposed to protect this house not let everyone in”
“We accept people that have been exclusively invited by Ass, people who matter, your reputation is at stake, the great massimo has the tail between his legs and is hiding behind his stone walls”
“I am not hiding”
“It doesn’t fucking matter what you have been doing, that is what they are saying, the charity ball is happening like it or not, the invites have already been send out, but your… wife a dress and you better mingle with your guests, like a good and generous host. Got it?”
Massimo identified the assertive tone in (y/n)s and gaze that could burn his entire house down, he could also see his advisor Mario nod at him behind her back, a way to stir Massimo to not push (y/n) further.
“Fine, make your preparations. I am sure if you try hard enough the ball will be decent”
“It will be better than the fiasco Laura had caused, she danced on a pole while somebody called her a whore right?”
Massimos hand slammed on his wooden desk while his other hand instinctively his right hand reached for his gun and pointed it right at her chest. The scary part wasn’t that (y/n) was held at gun point, nor the expression of fury in Massimos handsome face, it was the devilish grin that decorated (y/n)s lips, unfazed by the situation completely.
“Amateur, if you really want to kill me, you aim at the head”
She instructed while her fingers wrapped around the gun and let it touch the skin on her forehead. Massimo was a man that was never afraid to use his weapons, still the way that she did not even blink, better yet she teased him about it left him speechless.
“Massimo put the gun down”
“No, let him, what are you waiting for? Just so you know if I die you will have a bigger problem than a dead body, but an entire empire running after you and my brother wanting your head served in a silver platter”
“You think I am scared of your stupid brother?”
“No, no you are not, you are however scared of me. Even if you plant a bullet between my eyebrows you will never, ever get rid of me”
-
As always (y/n) had gotten her way and the charity ball was buzzing with people, the band she had hired played wonderful music, the staff kept the glasses of champagne full and the platters of small little delicacies going.
Massimo had his hand on Laura’s waist as they went to greet the guests, a United couple that scoffed at the missed jabs of their enemies, at least that’s what they portrayed.
The music came to a halt as a slight sound of the champagne glass summoned every guests attention. As Massimo looked up at the start of his stairs he was met with (y/n) smiling brightly with a glass in her hand, “she finally showed up” he thought
“Our dear guests, I apologise for interrupting any conversations but we have all night for chatter, me and my family would like to thank our dear friends Massimo and his family that were so kind to extend their hospitality to us, I would like to take this moment to raise my glass. To you and your wives success, both of them beautiful, kind and strong despite all. Cheers to the perfect couple”
Everyone clapped and took a sip, to anyone that did not know any better this was such a gracious gesture, a declare of loyalty and a announcement of the two families being allies, to Massimo this was a hit below the belt, to sarcastically smile and praise his wife after everything that has taken place.
Regardless of it all he took a slight sip as his grip to Laura tightened, he wanted to kill her, grab (y/n) by her pretty neck and snap it like a twig, his eyes followed her figure when she went down the stairs.
God was she bewitching, a sight for sore eyes in her dress, the most infuriating part about (y/n) is that he always left him in shambles, to kill her or to fuck her? That is the question
“(Y/n), I have to say that speech was very kind of you”
“What can I say I have a soft spot for love, we started off on the wrong foot Laura, that does not mean we should continue that way”
She was lying, Massimo knew that much and what was worst is that Laura was buying it, his wife believed that (y/n) was genuine and did not just plan an evil scheme to ridicule him further. (Y/n) reached for Laura’s hand to give it a slight squeeze of comfort.
“I am delighted you chose to wear the dress I send for you”
“It was the best out of all how could I not?”
“And you look good in it too, I will catch up with you two later, I must say hello to someone”
(Y/n) was over the moon, just the look on Massimos face made it all worth it, his hands were completely tied and there was nothing she could accuse her of, hell she had even mend her relationship with Laura and now all eyes were on Massimo.
(Y/n) approached the person she was interested in, the only man that made it look good while being completely out of place.
“So you must be… nacho? Right?”
“Yes, and you are miss (y/l/n)”
“Precisely, although I must say nacho does not suit you”
“It is only a nickname”
“I can definitely think of others that would be better”
“Is that so?”
His eyebrow raised at the sneaky way of the woman that weasels her way in his reader, he had seen her walk around the garden, a striking presence could not be missed by any man and she had been captured by his baby blue eyes, the man was sculpted by the Gods and she just so happened to be in need of a hobby. (Y/n) bit her lip as she swiftly nodded at him, the look of a helpless innocent doe that she held worked its magic on him as his pearly whites appeared at a grin.
“I’ve heard wonderful things about your work, people say you are… good with your hands”
“Such flattering words miss (y/l/n)”
“Would you like to show me your… works?”
“Whatever miss (y/l/n) wants she gets right?”
“Lead the way then and please call me (y/n)”
Her voice barely above a whisper as she said her name. Nacho only left his glass on a stand before he let his hand touch her waist and escorted her out of the mansion, what the man had not noticed is that as they went in the garden and away of the eyes of strangers Massimo had silently followed them, curious to see what was happening, who was he? Why was (y/n) walking away with him? He could barely hear what they were saying until they reached a more secluded part and stopped, (y/n) rested her back on a wall as she held her glass of champagne.
“Have you always been interested in gardening?”
“No, I like trying new things”
“That sounds promising”
“I must admit I had my eye on you”
“I noticed”
“You are a very interesting woman”
“I know, I must say you have a lot if potential… if you are up for it”
Massimos blood boil at the sight of (y/n) so sexually flirting with a man, she had never been like that with him, why would this low life get to have her while he could not even get a bite? Nacho placed his hands at either side of (y/n)s face supporting himself on the stone wall, she looked mesmerising under the moonlight, her chest rose as she took in a deep breath.
“I have never been afraid to get my hands dirty”
“Kneel”
She command him, Nacho took the champagne glass from her hand and took a sip before he leaned to connect his lips with hers, at the slight part of her lips he was able to pass a small amount of the champagne in her mouth making the kiss even more thrilling.
He pulled away from her to do as he was told, his one hand went underneath her dress to caress her leg from her ankle and up bringing goosebumps along her spine.
“Obedience becomes you”
“And we have only just began”
Nacho had kept the glass only to take a big sip of what was left of it and throw it away, quickly he lifted her dress and allowed the liquid to ran down the part that ached the most, the cooling sensation made her hiss before pleasure took over.
Massimo stood dumbfounded as he watched from the bushes his (y/n) have such an intimate moment with someone beneath her, he could imagine how good it would feel if he sliced his throat right at her feet, or maybe he should fuck her right there and make him watch. In reality, he froze at his spot as (y/n) let a few audible moans slip past her lips, he should leave, spare himself the fury of being a bystander.
(Y/n) could feel the thrill of nachos skill take over her, not only was the man between her legs extremely qualified, she was also aware of whom it was that had followed them and was now sneaking a peek through the woods, just the image of Massimo being helpless and having to endure the show of her become undone with another was enough to send her over the edge.
To have a gorgeous man please you while risking exposure while simultaneously getting on your first loves nerves was the biggest aphrodisiac that no money could ever buy. Once she felt herself slowly shimmer down she guided her hand on nachos chin and ran her thumb over his swollen lips before leaning down to plant a peck on them.
Massimo saw something beyond the pornographic scene, the movements, the lust in her eyes, the need to blow off some steam in that way. She was no longer the person he knew way back when, (y/n) had become… like him.
“You are so… good, now go”

Hi 👋 , could you write a fic of chris and wife! reader visiting his homeland of newfoundland and meeting his family. (btw you're like the #1 chris fanfic writer on this app, keep up the amazing work!!)
#1 Chris fanfic writer is a MASSIVE compliment, thank you so much!😳 this is a new request, but my brain was suuuuper fixated on it, so I hope you enjoy!💗
CHRIS MCLEAN AND WIFE! READER VISITING NEWFOUNDLAND ONE SHOT
Tumblr media
We're heading down to Newfoundland That rocky eastern shore!
That song’s been stuck in your head since you found out Chris was taking you on a private trip to his homeland.
You kiss his cheek,“You were such a sweetheart for bringing the contestants to your childhood home, Chris!”
He didn’t see what the deal was,“It’s nothing. You get to meet my mom and know Jerd a little more. The rest of the family aren’t important.”
“Hold up, Chris.” your grave sounding words draw him away from the window,“That sentence doesn’t feel right.”
“What do you mean?”
You weren’t gonna comment on Chris devaluing the position of his other family members, since it was his family, it was his business,“Well, we’re married... Doesn’t that mean I should’ve met them during our engagement or at the wedding?”
“Uh...” he chuckled,“There’s a reason why it’s us going to them, (Y/N).”
You put the pieces together,“I won’t ask anymore.”
Without Total Drama, this visit was a lot more ordinary yet unfamiliar. The smell of marine clogs your nostrils and seagulls’ squawks still active at this time of day clanged your ears.
Chris knocks on the barn door of his old home, opened by an auburn haired woman in a matter of seconds. Wrinkles lightens her face, almost like they mainly came from her constant joy rather than age as demonstrated with her loving greeting to Chris, making her title in his life clear.
Your anxiety in making a good first impression was compressed when she called your name more cheerfully, wrapping her arms around you,“Welcome welcome, I was wondering when Chris would finally bring ye home! Look at ya, Chris was right when he told me he married a bonnie lass!”
You looked at him for help. What did she say?
“She means an ugly cow.” by that look on his face, you knew he was teasing.
“Ohh patch aht, Chris! Ye ken what I meant when I said that.” his mother scolded him, turning back to you with a smile,“I meant yer a fine woman, love! Maybe too good for my wee Chris here.”
“Mommm...” now he knew how it felt hearing something dislikable, pouting at her,“You don’t mean that.”
“Aw stop yer whinin’, mac, it’s been a long time since yer introduced me to somebody I liked, hasn’t it?” she nudges him gently with her knuckle, addressing both of you,“Come in, I’ll fetch the Screech!”
Here was what the rest of the contestants didn’t get to see. A warm cabin-like house where most of the walls and stairs were made from logs. A lot of fish decor and though there wasn’t much interior walls, it was easy to tell where the kitchen and living room separated at. It was strange that Chris had not lived here for a long time, yet his scent was still so fresh among the furniture.
“Your mom is so nice, Chris!” you exclaim to your husband, looking around the well kept lounge, with three sofas and a coffee table,“You didn’t tell me she was so cheerful.”
He chuckles, shrugging,“Now you know where I get my smile from.”
And you recognised a duplicate of that smile in a photo frame, a teenage looking boy standing next to a woman who had a big resemblance to his mom. Both of them looked forward to the camera, appearing to be outside on a warm crowded day,“Was this you?”
He looks at it and nods,“That was on the final day of high school. It’s weird looking back on how I used to look without my stubble. I was still a hunk either way!”
You look at another frame, above the fireplace, of another younger Chris, dressed in a grey sweater and his hair medium cut. He looked about seven here,“Aww.. And this was you as a little boy. Your face was so round.”
He admires it,“It sure was. I remember shortly afterwards, I lost my first tooth.”
Then caught your eye, a time where he didn’t have any teeth: his mother, with much more frizzy hair and large hoop earrings, holding a baby close to her chin. They must have been at a beach, the woman’s vest being an appropriate choice for those outdoors.
“Aww, you were such a cute baby...” even with the low quality cameras had back then, you could still make out the the docile face Chris once had. You beamed at how he started off in the world as this beautiful baby boy.
He grins at the petting compliment,“The best thing on the planet was once so small you could pick him up in your arms!”
That’s still possible, but anyway! It was very clear his mom loves him, with a lot of moments of his childhood put up on show in her living room- you were happy that your husband had such a good relationship with one of his parents,“You love your mom a lot, don’t you?”
“How can’t I? She’s an amazing woman who’s done a lot for me. Probably the reason why I have some humanity left in this calamitous heart.”
Said woman returns back with a tray of four bottles of Screech,“Jerd should be here in ‘bout two shakes! Leave that bottle for him.”
“Thank you, mom.” though, he proceeded to walk out,“Bladder’s full.” Ah.
In the meantime, she invited you to have a seat on one of her comfy beige sofas. You decided to use this time to ask her some questions,“So... Ms McLean-“
“Katherine, dear!” your mother in law interrupts you kindly.
Your appreciation rose. She was as pellucid as when she first saw you come with Chris,“Thank you, Katherine. How long have you lived here in Newfoundland for?”
“Been living ‘ere before Chris was born! This is where his dad’s from and he wanted to stay so I figured I ought to come live with him.” Katherine replied, taking a sip of her Screech.
“Wow! And your accent is still very fresh.” you make an obvious comment on her heritage.
“Well lass, when yer getting old, it don matter where you are. Your roots will always wanna come back up to enjoy the review of yer life.” she winked,“I have learnt a bit about how these people in Newfoundland parts talk though! For example, they like to say “‘Ow’s she cuttin, me cocky?” as a way to say “How are you, my friend?” Funny, isn’t it!”
Your face stretches in surprise,“I never would have thought that was how they asked how you’re doing! Though, these kind of idioms are what makes cultures so beautiful and unique, right?”
“For sure!” her amused smile tones down to a very welcoming one as she put a hand on your shoulder,“Aw (Y/N). I really wished I was there to congratulate ye on the wedding day. I woulda loved to seen you in that lovely white dress.” her smile folds away, almost like she was lying to you...until she added,“My Christian on the other hand had to go looking like a pure bampot with all that gel he keeps using. Woman to woman, dae ye dig it?”
Before you could answer, her son returns to the living room, not pleased with the first words his embarrassed ears encountered,“Of course (Y/N) likes my hair! I totally looked way more gorgeous than I normally do on the wedding day, and that’s beyond science! Have you seen the photos?”
“Oh I saw everything.” you knew this was his mother for her to not be fazed at all by his self absorbed utterances,“That don’t mean ye should be using that damned gel every day! Dae ye ken what will happen if ye keep going? Yer gonna lose all this nice hair I used to comb for ye everyday and yer gonna be as bald as a nickel! And I know that’s not what ye want, but I canny tell ye what to dae, it’s yer life and I’ve done me part as yer mom while ye were a wee bairn.”
Chris didn’t like being told what to do, but he made very few exceptions to people’s advices, like from his mother,“Okaaaaay Ma... I’ll lay off the gel every two days. Happy?”
She kisses him apace,“That’s my boy!”
On cue, the short cousin arrives, looking identical to the first time you saw him from third season, in his sun coloured raincoat to his fiery red beard.
“Jerd!” Chris goes over to his ginger relative and clasps hands with him,“How you been?”
“Well, b’y!” he keeps his large genetic smile as he saw you,“Ah, the pretty lady! ‘Ow's she cuttin', me cocky?” he miraculously asked, enthusiastically shaking your hand.
“Best kind b’y, thank you!” never has been a better time to be prepared!,“We saved you a bottle of Screech.”
Jerd notices and he grabs it off the tray immediately,“Cheers! I’m just ‘bout gutfounded for some of this good o’ stuff!”
You weren’t thirty minutes in your stay at Newfoundland, but you already decided. You needed to visit them more often.

Jealousy, Jealousy
Tumblr media
Summary: You like Peter, Peter likes Liz but you can't shake the feeling that you and Peter might have something.
AN:i never really write angst because i hate it but i couldnt get this idea out of my head. Also this is my first post of this year so enjoy. I take requests btw :)
“God she's so perfect.” Peter said. Mj looks up from her book and you stop chewing your food to see what peter was talking about.
“Who is?” Mj asked, Peter didn't answer, you look at Peter to see him in awe. Then you look to see where his eyes were. He looked at Liz putting up the homecoming poster.
“Liz” you said coldly to Mj. Mj didn't say anything and just gave you a look.
“So… you asking her to Homecoming ?” Mj asked Peter.
“What? No I could never.”
“And why is that?” Ned asked Peter.
‘Because she would say no.”
“Just go with somebody that likes you. Y/n?” Mj said. “Yea?”
“Should Peter go with somebody that likes him?” you just looked and nodded your head at the question trying to see where she was going with this. “Got any people in mind.”
“No,” you said quickly.
“But-” the bell rang, cutting Mj off.
—-
“I mean you dont think she would go with me. Right?” Peter asked as you guys walked back to his apartment.
“I don't know” you didn't want to say too much. Besides you like Peter and you wanted him to see that but you were too scared to make a move.
“Did you see her in that skirt today? She looks amazing. and-”
You cut peters talking out by thinking of something else. you couldn’t stand the way he talked about liz, everything made you jealous, Liz had the looks, the money and the boy that you wanted crushing on her. You barely knew her and you wanted to be her so bad. You watch Peter crush on girls throughout the years and never been able to say anything because you didn't want to ruin the friendship.
“Peter?”
“Yea?” Peter stops talking and looks at you.
“Why do you like Liz so much?” you just had to know what made him like her so much and why he would always talk about her.
“Um i don't know, i have two crushes but i know one of them doesn't like me back so i have to resort to liz.” “Two crushes? Who the other.” “Umm…” he looked at you nervously. “You don't know her.”
“Oh? Is she really pretty?” you asked
“ pretty is an understatement.”
Now you're really jealous.
—-
“I can't do this anymore.” “Do what?” Mj asked.
“The thing with Peter is that I can't do anything. I like him too much. I think about him all the time and he doesn't even give me the time of day. Yesterday when we were walking he told me he had a crush on somebody else.”
“Did you ask who?”
“Yes and he got nervous and said that i don't know her.” Mj looks at you with a be for real face. “What Mj?” “It's you” she said like it was obvious.
“Huh”
“The other crush is you.” “I'm already delusional and you're making it worse.”
“Delusional about what?” Ned asked, sitting down next to Mj. Then Peter sat down next to you.
“Nothing.”
“Did you guys hear about Liz's party? She just invited me and said to bring my friends too.”
“You talked to liz.” I asked him.
“Yea she told me she would love it if i made it.”
“Of course she did,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“What is it hard to believe she might like me?” Peter said, clearly offended.
“Well just like how you said it's hard to believe that Flash liked me.” Peter looked at you shocked.
“That's not what I meant, I just dont think he's good for you.” he tried to explain.
“Yea whatever peter”
“This is where she lives, she has to be rich.” you said to Mj you guys looked at Liz's big house it was like a mansion. Outside you saw people you've never seen with drinks in their hands.
Mj looked at her phone then looked at you “peters said he's inside.”
“Why would I care?” you rolled your eyes.
“Because you like him.”
“Well he doesn't like me back.” you grabbed Mj’s hand, you led her into Liz's house, when you walked inside you saw a bunch of kids from your school in there. You started looking around and spotted Peter. He was with Liz, he was making her laugh.
“y/n-” Mj said, giving you an i'm sorry look.
“No, it's okay, let's get drinks.” you guys walked over to the drink table, you went straight for the vodka, you grabbed a cup and filled it half way.
You gulped down the first one then poured another, drank that one then went for a third but Mj stopped you.
“ We just got here, that's too much slow down.” you put the bottle down. You were a lightweight you knew you couldn't have too much.
“Hey everyone we are playing truth or dare in the basement if you want to play.” flash yelled. You watched a couple of people go down there but not too many, you were about to not go then you saw Peter head down there with Liz. There's no way you're not going now.
“Come on” you grabbed mj’s hand again. When you got down to the basement everybody was sitting in a circle. You decided to sit next to Flash and Mj sat next to Ned.
You watched a Flash spin the bottle and it landed on this random kid. For the next 20 minutes you watched people do dares but you didn't get chosen yet or Peter. Flash spins the bottle again and it lands on peter.
“Truth or dare.” Flash asked Peter.
“Um dare.” Peter looks nervous.
“I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the room.” you look up from your lap, he just used the perks of being a wallflower quote. You could help but think about how it ended. Peter looks at everybody, his eyes pass Liz and go to yours, he looks at you for a second you think you might be the one that gets chosen but he stops looking at you and his eyes go to Liz's again, he looks at her. Your heart drops, you have to get out of here before anybody sees you crying.
Peter knows he can't choose you, he knows if he does it's going to mess things up he doesn't want you to think that he's weird. He goes in to give Liz a kiss and when he opens his eyes, he looks at you to see your reactions but he notices that you're gone, then he looks at Mj. She gives him a disappointed look. Then he gets up and leaves. To look for you.
When he finds you, you're in a guest room by yourself crying.
“y/n.” Peter sits on the bed next to you.
“Why are you here peter?” you ask him. “ Go enjoy your time with Liz.” you were half drunk and half sober. You knew that this wasn't going to end well.
“You're crying, that's why I'm here , you left the room.”
“Why did you look at me peter.”
“What”
“Before you kissed Liz you looked at me for a second. Why?” you explain to him.
“ i- i don't know.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“Peter, you looked at me like you knew it was going to hurt me, like you knew that you were making a mistake.”
“I didn't, it was just a look, that's it, i looked at everyone.” he explained, he was acting stupid and he knew it.
“Peter but you looked at me the longest, and I want to know why. I'm so tired of this peter.”
“Tired of what.”
“Why are you doing this to me?” you snapped “ you- you keep hurting me, everything is always about liz. Liz this. Liz that. I don't care about Liz ,Peter. I just want you to look at me like you look at liz. You might call me crazy but I know something is there between us. Because you wouldn't have looked at me like that before you kissed her. I can't shake this feeling Peter, and I know you feel it too but it's like you think it's wrong to like me or something.” the tears were flowing down your face and you couldn't control it. The silence was too loud Peter couldn't even look at you. You waited for a response and you didn't get one.
In that movement everything was clear to you.

ONE.
Everything felt like shit.
Everything just felt different now that you're finally out of Mason’s life.
It doesn't feel suffocating but it does feel like there's a hollow in his chest every time a reoccurring memory of you flashes by his mind.
It doesn't hurt. It doesn't bother him. But Mason does feel numb. He feels numb to everything around him and feeling certain emotions are lost.
A month after you left, the entire house was merely an imitation of what it used to be before it was bought; bare, soulless and empty. There's no longer any scent of coffee filling the house from your constant brewing. There's no more extra set of skin care supplies on the bathroom sink saved for you. There's no more neatly arranged closet when you hurriedly tucked away your clothes in your luggage before you left, leaving the closet nearly barren of anything to remember you by. The plants had all dried up from the lack of care from its now sole owner. The paintings and photos that used to give your walls a depiction of your character and your love for each other was now left empty, bare gray walls catching Mason’s eyes like the colorless sensation there is to his chest.
Everything wasn't the same.
Everything was never going to be the same.
TWO.
An entire year had passed by, yet there were still no apparent changes in Mason and his way of living.
Christian and Kai suggested for him to see somebody else, venture out and relive his romantic adventures with someone new.
Mason knew he shouldn't, not when he's not in a capable state to even be thinking about starting a new relationship but he simply nods his head. He agrees with their suggestion, just so they don’t bother him about this part of his life that he knows will never function the same.
And so, Mason prepares himself for the blind date prepped by his two friends that will happen in the weekend.
He got three more days left to sort himself out. He doesn't do anything. He dreads for that day to come.
Her name was Amelia.

THREE.
She was a nice lady. She had a kind smile, one that almost threw him off as she sat in front of him, introducing herself and shaking his hands. She wore an outfit he knew you'd be fussing to wear, he knew you'd ask him a plenty of questions and he'd assure you just as many times that you look phenomenal, just like you always do. Amelia was chatty, but not in the overbearing kind. She knew how to carry the conversation that Mason could give zero fucks about. But for the sake of her kindness, he tries to match her energy with his fake smiles, fake laughter, fake enthusiasm, fake everything. He just wants for the night to be over. He just wants to go home.
“I know you haven't healed from your last relationship with...” Amelia starts, and Mason was ready to cut her off, tell her that she doesn't have the right to touch such a sensitive subject with him, not when they barely know each other at all. “And I’m in the same position. The last relationship was what I thought would be my endgame, I was wrong obviously.” She chuckles, but it felt and sound faked in Mason’s ears.
Is that how he sounded all evening? Like he was restrained from something that kept him from showing his real emotions to a girl who showed him nothing but kindness?
Amelia leans back on her seat, a timid smile on her lips as she offers him her hand. “So because of that, I know I'm not in the right condition to be finding someone as of now to be in a relationship with... but I would like for us to be friends, if that's alright with you?”
Amelia waits for Mason to respond, and for a split second he considers declining her offer, tell her he's already got a bunch of them but he sighs and with that sigh he shakes her hand, now with a small genuine smile on his lips.
“Fine. Friends.”
He shouldn't have agreed to being her friend. Not when he knew there was a chance of her falling like in the cliche movies and books where the female friend falls for her male friend.

FOUR.
And as the tears run down from her eyes, Mason bites the insides of his cheeks as he moves his head to divert his gaze elsewhere.
“I don’t know until when do I have to compete with her... she's not here anymore Mase but why are you so keen on holding onto your memories with someone who's already moved on with someone else?” She asks him, weeping softly.
Mason isn't sure why himself. Was it the memories? Was it the way you used to love him so freely? Was it the way you accepted him for all his flaws and stayed by his side despite the time where football grew harsh on him and he wasn't on his best form? Was it because you saw past his flaws but still stayed with him, whispering how much he means to you and how much you love him during the late night evenings when you're both on bed and when you thought he was already fast asleep? Whispering kind and loving words so emotionally that tears ran down your cheeks and onto the bed, probably thinking that he doesn't know that you show him your most vulnerable state of loving when you think he's asleep beside you? Which was it?
“I’m here for you Mase. I’ve been here for you for for nearly a year. She might have loved you differently but I can love you in my own way... just let her go.”
Mason lets her hand go, turning his back on her as he walks back and forth in front of Amelia in the parking lot of the restaurant.
“You know I can't do that-” Mason bites his lips, gnawing on it as he paces. “Ame you know I can't do that-”
Amelia walks over to him, grabbing his hands and she pleads him, tells him that Yes, You can Mase! You can but you just chose not to!
Mason wants to tell her that he can't. That he shouldn't have gone to that blind date in the very first place because now he's hurting the one friend who was there for him, who understood him.
But as another car flashes their headlights to their left as it was being parked and a familiar figure steps out, all thoughts immediately leave Mason’s head.
The door to the restaurant opens before Kai steps out, wanting to fuse down the conversation and get the two back inside before his eyes too lands on the familiar figure standing a mere 10 feet away from them. And all of a sudden, that plan doesn't seem as easy as it sounded in Kai’s head.
Because like some fucked up game the fates conjured, you were there, standing and staring at the situation you were cluelessly partly the cause of.
“Mase? Kai?”
Mason nearly ran to you, beg for you to take him back, tell you that he still loved you despite your relationship ending a year and a half ago. But somethingㅡsomeone kept him from doing so and just ultimately saved his face from the embarrassment it could've caused.
“You know them love?” George fucking Russell places an arm around your waist as he awaits for your answer, patiently and kindly doing so before you're nodding your head with a smile.
“Yeah... they're my, my friends.”
Friends? Ha. Mason wanted to clarify that he wasn't just a friend, that he was but he was your boyfriend once too.
George sends them a head nod and a tight-lipped smile. “Well... it's always nice to meet my girlfriend’s friends. I’m George Russell.”
Kai walks over to offer a hand, one that George immediately shakes before the German hugs you. You wrap an arm around Kai, warily eyeing Mason and only then noticing the girl beside him.
You were about to approach them and introduce yourself when Mason opens his mouth and says something he knew he will regret immensely.
“You should join us... for dinner. Just so we can, catch up and talk properly.” He offers, and Kai sends him a warning look.
“That is if we're not going to be a bother with your night, of course.” Kai adds. “You can joins us at our table.”
“Yeah.” Amelia nods her head beside Mason, and he notices that she's dried her tears, plastering on one of her friendly smiles. “I would love to know Y/N that I have heard so much about from the guys.”
Instead of declining, you turn your head to George. “Can we love?”
George fucking Russell leans down to fucking kiss your head, smiling charmingly as he replies. “Sure love, we can join them for dinner. Would be a nice opportunity to know your friends better I reckon.” He chuckles.
Amelia leads the way, opening the door as she gestures for you and George to follow her in while introducing herself to the both of you.
Mason and Kai were left standing in front of the restaurant, the recent happening weighing heavily on the both of them and embracing them in an uncomfortable silence.
But Kai breaks that after a while, shooting him a stern glare as he points a finger on Mason’s chest. “Don’t do something fucking stupid Mase. I know you, but don't do something that will hurt you and her again.” Kai follows after the three of you inside the restaurant, leaving Mason alone to dwell on his thoughts.
Mason used to think that everything was colourless, dreary and hollow after you left. He still believes in it. He doesn't know how to fix this way of feeling and thinking but after tonight, he's sure that there's no way of retrieving you back with him no matter how much he wants to. Not when there's a ring band on your ring finger. Not when you're already entwined with someone else that you so clearly loved, just awaiting for the time to pronounce your love in front of family and friends.
Mason is so used to think of everything so differently, and he can't help but think that maybe he'll never get over this one anytime soon.
