Let me explain something. (SPOILERS AHEAD FOR II2 17!)

SO, there is a scene where the contestants are deleted and their main flaw is written on their bodies. Example being Cheesy's being "UNSERIOUS" because his jokes only lighten the mood, no matter the humor, and he never seems to get the actual tension or atmosphere in any situation.

OKAY. So Silver Spoon's flaw is "THINKS HE'S WORTHLESS" which. is already wild because I'm a certified Silver Spoon Simp and I can confirm that he does have issues with his ego.

Candle's flaw is a bit obscured, but I think a lot of the community will agree with me when I say it's something related to her self-esteem as she has had those problems before. *Points to III11* That. Anyways, I think hers is "WANTS TO BE/FEEL NEEDED".

And holy shit did my Silvercandle mind go to this conclusion.

Silver thinks he's worthless and doesn't really deserve the fame he got. Meanwhile, Candle has self-esteem issues and thinks she isn't enough a lot of the time. Without Candle, Silver can't be reassured that he got what he worked towards and what he deserved, and without Silver, Candle can't fulfill her need to feel like she's enough.

Oh wait, what did Justin say a while ago about their relationship? Oh yeah- THEY'RE INTERTWINED FORCES OF NATURE.

This means MePhone4 made them to fit like a puzzle piece in their relationship. They are what brings each other happiness and comfortability and without one or the other, both start giving into their flaws. Yes, they're still estranged in the finale (as apparently they never interact) but still.

To put it simply: Silvercandle got a bit of a win by showing their flaws but also lost because. everybody's deleted. including them.

Everyone’s making AUs relating to how Mephone join the shimmers sooo… here’s my personal AU!! Title is still TBD and isn’t like 100% confirmed but I think it’s just a fun way to show what the AU is :3

Basically, Mephone4 was taken by the Light Shimmers pre-II, so during the time MP4 was still in Meeple. The way MP4 was taken away was by Cobs letting him outside once, and coincidentally, the Shimmers were near to earth enough that they felt some sort of signal, which led them to Mephone. They took in Mephone the same way they did Fan in EP14, which Cobs barely had time to see before it was too late. By the time Cobs tried to get MP4 back, it was too late. This caused a whole butterfly effect, causing Cobs to never allow any other Mephones outside unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, and only under his supervision. During MP4’s time in Meeple, 4S was created alongside him, the egg split 50/50 between the twin robots. Originally MP4 was taken in as a prisoner, but soon the Shimmers analyzed his parts and realized he had Shimmer in him. By then, the Light Shimmers were pretty angry with mp4 since he was, yk, a MEPHONE, which made The Prime Shimmer take the hard decision of accepting MP4 as their own. From there, The shimmers slowly, SLOOWLY got used to Mephone’s presence around the ship. And eventually got comfortable with it! They explored a few planets, eventually coming across one with odd looking objects. Those were the contestants. MP4 is surprised when they have relationships and friendships with each other, like humans did. Slowly, the contestants learned the Shimmers and MP4’s language and 4 started a reality show with them, to their own disdain. They eventually fight back which makes Mephone sad :((( idk I haven’t figured this out fully LOL

The basics of things that changed is Mephone is with the shimmers since he was young, and the contestants being aliens. What’s cool is that they all have special abilities!! In example, Test Tube’s liquid is acid that can regenerate inside her, or Paintbrush’s bristle can stretch and bend and grapple onto things at their will!! It’s mostly for fun lol

i clicked on it when it was 1 minute out and i SFDLGJBMNVKJFLDR'EJLDFKJG i had to pause like 10 times to just compose myself after everything this series is INSANE its making me INSANE NOW I KNOW WHY ITS CALLED INANIMATE INSANITY OH MYG OD OH MHY GOD WHAT THE HELL

like legit i was watching the new BURNER episode that came out just before i saw this one, and when i saw the crumbling of the show i was thinking to myself that 'geez i cant trust anything after ii' AND LOOK WHAT VID COMES OUT

im so grateful to the ii team for working on such an astounding show such as this, i truly cant believe its gotten this good and this deep. i became a fan when s2 was just starting out, and i have a lot of fond memories binging the series with my friend all throughout gradeschool. now im in highschool and i still love the show. i hope theres going to be more though !!! im really hoping to get a happy ending for all the characters, or at least some more closure if a happy ending is too much to ask for.

haaaaaaa... now that i got my primary freakout out of the way, maybe ill go ahead and talk about what i liked about this episode

such high quality production as always man like II has been really good when it comes to voice acting, animation, sound design, and im glad theyve been keeping it up

THE WRITING IS ACTUALLY SO GOOD NOW TOO LIKE WHEN FAN STARTED PIECING EVERYTHING TOGETHER I WAS LIKE THIS IS REALLY COMING FULL CIRCLE ??? THEY PLANNED THESE TWISTS IT OUT PRETTY WELL i really like that in a story, shows theyve got intention with their themes

and the themes of inanimate insanity oh man!! i really like the direction the object show community has been going on this sort of meta commentary on the show itself, like i saw when i watched ONE, so seeing inanimate insanity go so much deeper now is a treat

in a way animationepic is mephone?? we are mephone?? everyone watching and making this show is getting a kick out of these characters' drama for entertainment and thats what we found out mephone has done to make them in the first place.. of course we as real people dont hold that responsibiity over fake characters. (which is what cobs and mephone think and must have thought too).

its a show about what is real vs what is fake and ultimately seems to be showing us that the relationships you form with others, those friends that you care about, can never really be programmed or faked out. the contestants rebel against the game and cobs because they want to live freely and because they want to protect their friends. its this love for life and others that makes us all human (well might not be the right word in this case hehe).

I FEEL LIKE ALL THE CONTESTANTS' PERSONALITIES WERE SO WELLSHOWCASED IN THIS EPISODE like their reactions felt real and believable for this kind of news, and everyone got a moment even if small (box was in too!!) (i really wonder if that theory i saw about box being a 'killed' contestant is right-- it seems like there wont be enough time to fit that backstory in but if they make that confirmed that would be so hype)

finding out everyone's personalities were pre-written by mephone4 in the last episode was one thing, but actually seeing them scribbled down in writing was so SJDKLA shocking??? it really slapped me with the reminder that mephone was pretty much just a child who was lonely and made his own friends.. his backstory is something i think about a lot i feel pretty bad for him :((( also imagine being the contestants and finding out god is basically a traumatized four year old boy

for some of the contestants, their programmed personalities i expected: cheesy is unserious, goo is inconsistent, salt is a trend setter and pepper is a trend follower. but a bunch of them came as a really big shock to me!!!

i think candle's said 'must be needed'? actually that works for her arc in iii but its still dangg that was embedded into her..

baseball having 'always strikes out' made me sob cuz THATS why he always seemed to come up short, i always had a soft spot for baseball he seemed to try his best but never really got it right.. and now its cuz he was made that way?

AND SILVERSPOON'S????? 'thinks hes worthless' OH MY GOD this guy this one had a lil kick to it

and does anyone feel like suitcase isnt rlly a backstabber cuz i saw mephone4 put that on her paper, and knife calls her that too but when i was watching those episodes her actions felt less like back stabbing and more like standing up for herself, at least in my view. i could actually rant about suitcase for a lot longer because GOSH my girl does not deserve any of this! im a suitcase supporter for life shes genuinely so nice to people even if they arent well-liked if suitcase has 0 fans i am dead! and she did so well this episode, the dynamic and conflict between her and knife is always *chefs kiss*

the plot was plotting this episode, really felt well-paced and tense, it was really fun to watch the scenes keep bouncing between all these groups of characters and i think they balanced the moving parts really well!

the ending. that goddamn ending. mephone taking cobs' hand again. when cobs extended it i just knew in me phone's face that he was going to accept it. hes still pretty much a young child. only a few months (years now ?) old. hes going to follow his creator because thats the one thing hes been taught and commanded to do. he just watched his whole world crumble around him, everything and everyone he made to escape this man and his cruelty, and he's just going to come back. of course he is. what else could he do now? hes got nothing just like cobs said he would. hes just a child and cant do anything right, cant have any friends that stay and are real and are his own. (the themes of abuse are strong in this one OH MAN)

i think this is overthinking things way too much and i strongly disagree. youre allowed to feel however you wanna feel but like. at the end of the day i dont think mephone was meant to be. like. symbolic of autism/someone with autism. Like, he wasn’t made with that specific intention in mind.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. but i dont think the writers wrote this to be some insane ‘autism EVIL!’ conspiracy allegory. even if he WAS confirmed canonically autistic, i STILL dont think the alien egg thing would be them trying to demonize autism; it just happens to be lore relevant. what should they do instead? no lore allowed? no fun? i’d quite like to have a character like mephone be canonically autistic, cause i think hes a damn good representation of what its like. you LITERALLY feel like an outsider from everyone around you, like you’re different. (much like the fact his contestants all werent real but he ‘sort of’ is. Theyre all still made the same way, theyre all artificial, but it still feels like theres some disconnect. Me personally, thats how it feels sometimes.) also mephone is just an interesting character. it beats being represented by some mocking stereotype or some side character who appears for 5 minutes and never comes back ever again.

im honestly getting tired of takes like these that try to say shit like ‘knife is canonically misogynist’ or ‘test tube is canonically ableist’ or ‘animationepic is this/that for writing this!’ and “it makes you EVIL to like this character or this ship or this show,,,” all these crazy claims when i dont think that was the writer’s intentions AT ALL. they’re just coincidences and how you choose to interpret the media. knife was just written to be an asshole. test tube had her judgement clouded cause her best friend (husband) got ‘unfairly’ voted out so she was a bitch to cabby. i dont think its always as deep as people try to make it out to be.

if you wanna intepret a character or situation one way, thats FINE. but it so strange to try and frame a VERY COMMON TROPE as the writers trying to be ableist or anti-tism or conspiratory or whatever.

i said this in my mephone4 age thing and ill say it again. we cannot apply real world standards to fictional universes. mephone being the egg alien guy is just cause the plot calls for it and because its a fictional universe. i dont think animationepic is trying to demonize autism or whatever.

i went on a ramble and i understand op is just stating their own opinions but i feel the need to put this out there before the ii neg people get their grubby hands on this and try to call AE ableist or some shit LMAO. at the end of the day, its a kids show, and i really dont get the impression from AE that theyd be the type to intentionally put some anti autism propaganda in their show.

oh and quick edit. takes in general like these are harmful. it makes writers feel like they need to walk on eggshells to write literally anything related to like. mental health. or whatever topic. or just makes them feel like you cant write ANYTHING without it unintentionally being ableist or homophobic or something because someone interprets it that way. obviously, if something is genuinely harmful, point it out, but we should also be encouraging people to attempt to write these sorts of topics. especially smaller creators who are trying their best to give us representation, we shouldnt be calling them EVILLL for trying. otherwise no one will want to try to write, say, autistic. or gay. or whatever characters.

But it keeps reminding me of those conspiracy theories about autistic people being aliens who were sent to earth or some shit. U know.
