"Poppy, Goob, & Looey In Christmas-...Fears?"

This trio is going to be the death of me- LOOK AT THEM!

Because I decided that this would be a special poster for the show, ITS GOT LORE!!!

Plot: Poppy, Goob, & Looey are having an absolute BLAST having a merry time! .. Except for the fact that Poppy and Looey are certainly one of the more fragile toons and some Christmas festivities are more dangerous than you would think. Goob and Poppy however doesn't exactly seem to notice this fact and it causes them to be quite confused as to why Looey seems so anxious for Christmas? Ultimately a lesson is learnt that when your having fun, you need to make sure that everyone involved is safe, or else it's not really all that fun. (This special was scrapped by the workers at Dandy's World, but there's still a poster of it somewhere.)

Dumb Details: They've all got skates, the ornaments on the tree each represent the Main Toons + Dandy; Goob got earmuffs, I tried to make his head a cardboard box? Not sure how that looks, his claws are right in Looey's face; Poppy's dress is vaguely inspired off of a santa dress, she has some snowflakes that represent ice on her body since it's so cold she's slightly freezing; Looey has a scarf that's got two different colors on it, his skates are getting too close to his tail (he's worrying it's going to pop), as mentioned before Goob's claws are right in Looey's face

No NSFW, I'm a minor and I don't want to attract those kind of people in my blog because the idea of people associating me with that feels uneasy- Suggestive stuff however is a different story, it's still rare but I'll occasionally have a character have some unexplainable bite on their neck, they can't seem to walk properly today in particular, etc. And for swearing? I'd like to say that I calculated how many seconds you need to use your ability those 3-4 times on the Floor by multiplying the exact number on how many times you need to use it (3.333) by your cooldown not counting anything that lowers the cooldown of an Active ability (so for Brightney, 45) and rounded it up and simplified. The answer is [3.333*45=149.985] and since you can have somewhat of a millisecond with the cooldowns, you round by the hundredths, which causes 9 to be 0 and 40 to be 50. It’s an estimate down to the millisecond.

Okay, I need to say this.

Why the fuck is Brightney’s mastery so fucking hard.

Like. I’ve seen Astro’s mastery and I get way you need blackouts because he’s a main (yes, I am using that excuse).

But you need 15 blackouts for Brightney. FIFTEEN. And on top of that, you need to use her ability 50 times, which BY THE WAY, YOU CAN ONLY USE THAT ABILITY IF THERE IS A BLACKOUT.

Let’s do some math. If we need to use her ability 50 times and experience 15 blackouts in order to acquire her mastery, let’s say we encounter 15 blackouts while playing as Brightney. So, 50/15=3.333. Which means for every blackout you need towards mastery, you need to use your ability 3-4 times every blackout to achieve the goal of mastery.

Now, when compared to teams that vary in size and formation, let’s say you have a team that has two distractors, three other extractors (not counting yourself as Brightney), and a support. Your ability has a cooldown of 45 seconds, assuming you didn’t vote any cards that decrease active ability cooldown or have trinkets that do the same, such as Ghost Snakes In A Can and Sweet Charm. That team will most likely be done with all machines before you could even get the chance to use your ability 3-4 times during that blackout floor, maybe even more. Which, by the way, if you want to use your ability 3-4 times with those conditions set, that means that the floor has to last around 150 seconds, or 2 minutes 30 seconds, in order to be able to use your ability those 3-4 times. And that’s assuming they have trinkets such as Vee’s Remote and are playing characters such as Connie and Glisten who have high extraction speed. Sure, Twisteds can be a factor; maybe they have someone like one of the Craft Siblings or Glisten or even a main. But for this, we’ll assume both Twisteds are of the Common to Uncommon variety.

Sure, unlocking Brightney’s completed mastery means you’re one step closer to unlocking Vee and her ability correlates with Vee’s. I get that. However, Brightney’s mastery is THE hardest of the four toons that lead you towards getting a Main Character. Toodles? You can get her early on, meaning you can get her mastery early on. Tisha? She only costs 500 Ichor, which means it’s the same situation as Toodles, PLUS she’s an AMAZING Toon. Cosmo? Sure, you need to expand your library of Toons before you can buy him and his mastery is a bit tedious, but otherwise it’s the basic stuff like “use your ability” or “pick up this many items” or “walk this many meters”.

Brightney? You need to experience 5 blackouts before you can even get her. And I don’t know if you know this, but blackouts usually DON’T occur early on in a run. Sure, it CAN happen, but it’s only a 5% chance.

Now, is this bashing on the developers who made the decision to make this her mastery quest? Absolutely not, they have better things to expand on and fix in the game (even if Brightney is related to the previous developer who I shall not name). Is this bashing Brightney as a whole? No, I like Brightney. I think she’s a sweetheart who loves reading books with her friends. I am more so frustrated with how tough her mastery can be, especially since I want Vee to be one of the first Mains I get before the others (the other main is Shelly).

Simply put: I’m not mad at this decision nor at the character nor at anybody who plays the character and/or has gotten Vee. I am just befuddled and bewildered by how tough Brightney can be to master, especially in a game like this where, while blackout chances do increase, they’re still rare, especially for an intermediate person like myself. Maybe I’m ranting because I haven’t made it past Floor 14 in a run before. But even if I did, I might still keep complaining, especially if the team begins to vote Electrician when I DON’T WANT THEM TO, IT ONLY WORKS IF THE BLACKOUT CHANCE IS OVER 25%, STOP VOTING IT ON FLOOR 10.
