And at this point in the show, there was absolutely no denying that Xena and Gabrielle were a couple.

I remember Renee talking about this scene in her commentary for it as the director of the episode and she said the reason they did this was because they knew while Xena was reincarnated into Joxer’s body, they could absolutely get away with the kiss even though it meant that it was Xena kissing Gabrielle.

Apparently the studio censors didn’t really care about the context of the scene, so long as it didn’t look like a woman was kissing another woman. So they did it. Again - because the cast/crew wanted it. Not because it was a way that they could ‘bait’ a queer audience.

William doesn’t know exactly how close Mike is to breaking, because Mike is doing his best to hide it from both William and the others, but William knows he’s getting closer to that outcome. Mike might try and act like he’s not giving in as much as he is, but there’s no hiding the signs, not when Mike’s not as argumentative, quicker to back down and obey when William asks him to do simple chores around the house, and doesn’t make nearly as big an effort to push against the rules and test the limits of William’s patience.

OK first [Illumi (Gittarackur) x Reader], basically in the Trick Tower part of the Hunter Exam, reader and disguised Illumi have to team up to get to the finish line. They of course are second and third after Hisoka. Reader starts to catch feeling for this strange man that has needles all over his head and face. Then of course eventually his true identity is revealed, and reader kinda struggling with their feelings. And Illumi might return the feelings, but he thinks reader isn’t attracted to him anymore. I already showed a little snippet of this fic before!

Second, that’s actually the current title. It’s childhood friends to lovers AU with Illumi. Silva had killed MCs parents so naturally MC befriends his eldest son. They go to confront the Zoldycks, but sees the young boy around their age instead. So something softens inside them and they want to make friends. Illumi is just kinda letting it happen. Then over the years they both start developing feelings for each other, but neither confesses. I’m still not sure if Illumi’s feelings get unhealthy or would they be sweet. It’s a slow burn, with some smut there somewhere. I drew fan art of them actually.

I’m sure you meant it like that, but since they’re still so new to the world and haven’t experienced any -phobia yet, they’d probably be confused why you’re concerned about them, as they simply naturally feel that that’s who they are, why would they ever feel bad about it? Especially when no one’s ever made it out to be a bad thing at any point? (Which for the record, I mean no one’s villified it, because being nonbinary is not a bad thing at all!)

So really, don’t worry! You haven’t made them feel bad, they’re just confused by the distinct lack of it ever being before, and now someone is expressing concern. So it’s confusing to them more than anything else. ^^

This is a good post, i like what it has to say for the most part, except in my onion it’s crucial that u approach these fights with the following attitude: i don’t know these people, their relationship w each other, just about anything necessary to contextualising their argument well because i just learned they existed when said argument popped up on my dashboard. they could very well be speaking from a place of tremendous pain and so until i’ve learned more about them i will just read, shrug and put it away. unless ur mental health can’t handle it, u don’t have to avoid or think of something as a freakshow of fuck ups, because it’s precisely this defensive dehumanisation that’s contributed so much to the hostility of our spaces. ok the thing happening sucks. you don’t know much abt it. these things that are being done u would not imitate. that’s all it has to be
