As his partner, you knew that getting a reaction from Minho was difficult. He wasn’t the type to gasp loudly or look at you with wide eyes. At this point, you were simply trying anything. Calling him things like booger bear (which just got you a dagger like side eye) or acting cutesy. Nothing really other than a furrowed brow or a quiet sigh.

As you walked into the practice room, you realized you only had one option left. One name you could call him that might get some sort of a reaction. It was something that you had at one point resolved to never stoop so low as to say. But times are tough and being a menace to your boyfriend is a top priority.

“Oppa! Y/nie is here with some dinner for you~!” You called out to him in a cute small voice. He stopped mid motion and turned to look back at you. He removed an AirPod from his ear as he watched you cross the room.

“What did you say, honey?” His gaze was quizzical as he grabbed the bag from your hand.

“I was just saying I brought you dinner.” You shrugged, assuming this was yet another time he would brush off your attempt and move on.

“No, what did you call me?” He gently grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the couch so the two of you could sit while he ate. He tore open the box and began eating, still looking at you expectantly.

“O-oh, it’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.” You were backpedaling, realizing he might tease you mercilessly if he realizes what you said.

“Y/n, I heard what you said. I just want to hear it again. Please.” Your heart swelled at the pink that was dusting his cheeks, an unusually tender moment blossoming here.

“I said that I brought you some food… Oppa.” You could feel your own cheeks warming at having to repeat it. However, the way the corners of his mouth twitched upward was enough to ease some of it.

“We’re the same age, it’s not even accurate.” He muttered, taking a big bite of rice to try and conceal his smile.

You sat with him while he ate the rest of his meal, chatting about various things until he was done.

“Are you at a stopping point?” You asked softly as you began to clean things up. He thought for a moment before nodding with a slightly devious smile.

“Can oppa ride home with you? Hm?” His eyes were glistening with mischief as he asked, pleased with your flushed cheeks.

“I think I have room.” You muttered as you ducked your head down to finish throwing things away. He sighed contentedly and threw his arm around your shoulder.

“Y/nie always has room for oppa, right?” He beamed, clearly enjoying this a bit too much.

“I’m regretting bringing this up at all.” You smile sweetly as you walk outside.

“You brought it up, it’s your problem now. Oppa will go wait in the car.” He calls over his shoulder as he skips over to the parked vehicle.

I have a lot of fic ideas. Can’t decide what I want to do. If you decide to read any of this lol, please let me know what looks good.

First: Alternate universe - Canon Divergence Where Crocodile, Mihawk, and Doflamingo also are raised on the the Oro Jackson and this would be around the time Buggy and Shanks were 6 or 7. Setting would be mainly Marineford, during Timeskip, and after Timeskip though. Showing differences to how they acted in canon. Also they’d treat Buggy far better. Buggy would be transgender and with the help of Ivankov would finally have her body. The trio plus Shanks wouls be happy for buggy but it’s harder to control their feelings about the clown.

Second: Alternate Universe - Modern Setting with Powers Buggy is a stripper and escort(people pay for his time not sex) on off days. He enjoys his work, basking in the attention and exhilaration. So do his customers, specifically a few(Shanks, Croc, Mihawk, and Doffy). Who would like to have more and go about getting it in different ways, consensually of course.

Third: Crocodile and Mihawk start treating Buggy better then end up courting him together. It’s fragile but wonderful. Shanks is trying to rekindle their romance: After finally being invited to Karai Bari(I guess I forgot the right name lol) by Buggy he’s unsettled to learn that the other two have a head start. He invites Rayleigh to the island in the guise of a family reunion. Hijinks ensue that end up making Croc and Mihawk look bad, which usually doesn’t bother them but it’s their boyfriend’s dad whose the legendary Dark King no less. So yeah, not good.

Fourth: Buggy has several friends with benefits(Shanks, Croc, Mihawk, Doffy, and Marco) Who never said it was but Buggy assumed so then ran with it. Each of them finds out the clown has other bed partners and who they are which… they don’t take well(No physical or sexual abuse). At a pirate retreat their acquaintances take advantage of the situation and use Buggy to rile them up with no release. So as to enact revenge against them for various petty reasons.

(Stages of) Grief and Loss in Last Twilight

So apparently I'm ready to meta this show right out of the gate! That's never happened before, lol. The last P'Aof show that aired was Moonlight Chicken and I was still learning about BL as a genre as well getting caught up on various BLs (I mean, I'm still getting caught up, but I'm way more well versed now, lol). It's exciting, actually getting to meta a P'Aof show.

@twig-tea was the first of the former Only Friends Ephemerality Squad to discuss Last Twilight with a focus on liminality. During our discussion on the characters and how liminality was affecting them, I mentioned that grief is liminal; @twig-tea replied with "When you’re in grief you’re not in the same space you were, and coming out the other side you’re different and the world feels different, and grief feels interminable, and you can’t feel the passing of time the same way."

That sentence, of course, got me thinking about the grieving process (because P'Aof seems to be once again using his art to work through his emotions surrounding loss; I remember that it was said he used Moonlight Chicken for this as well). I was further prompted by @waitmyturtles and their commentary on Mhok (Mork? I know Jimmy sanctioned Mork; have we settled on a spelling?) and how he is angry about and distanced from his sister's death.

Depending on where you look, there are 5-7 "stages" of grief. Per Medical News Today, they're listed as: Shock: This stage may involve numbed disbelief in response to news of a loss. It may serve as an emotional buffer to prevent someone from feeling overwhelmed. Denial: Denial may entail refuting the reality of the loss or any associated feelings. Once an individual accepts reality, they can move forward through the healing process. Anger: During this stage, an individual may direct their anger toward the person who died, doctors, family members, or even religious entities. It is important to address the anger. Bargaining: Bargaining involves thoughts such as “I will do anything if you take away the pain.” This stage may come at any point within the grieving process. It is frequently accompanied by guilt. Depression: At this stage, a person may experience feelings of emptiness and intense sadness. They may also withdraw from daily activities and things they once enjoyed. Testing: Testing is the process of trying to find solutions that offer a means of dealing with loss. Someone may drift in and out of other grieving stages during this time. Acceptance: This is the final stage of the grieving process. Acceptance does not mean people feel OK about a loss. Rather, it means they realize the loss is their new reality. They understand that while life will not continue as it did before, it will go on. This stage may involve reorganizing roles and forming new relationships.

I wanted to give a closer examination of specifically Mhok and Day and where they're at in the grieving process at the start of the show, as they've both suffered tragic, massive (albeit entirely different) losses.

Mhok:

Mohk's losses are huge but mostly affect only him. Prior to the start of the show, he had lost his parents (how they died and how long they've been gone isn't really mentioned but he and Rung don't seem too grief-stricken in the flashback to visiting them). He made a mistake, a fight went too far and he lost his freedom (so I'm a little unclear exactly how much time he spent in jail - was it the full year? or six months?), as well as presumably his home and his job.

Somewhere in the ensuing jail time, he lost his friends (assuming he was telling the truth to the guy who took his ankle monitor off) and it's implied he lost his girlfriend (I am fascinated by Mhok's relationship with his ex; with everything else he lost, he has managed to maintain a friendship with her - so much so that she has a boyfriend and it doesn't even phase him). The night Mhok is arrested, he loses his last remaining family member, his sister. Rung's death is clearly the thing he's struggling with the most - as @waitmyturtles said "There’s a lot of anger, a lot of regret, a lot of avoidance, a lot of dancing around the honest truth."

Mhok seems to have reached acceptance with most of the things he's lost - his parents, his job, his friends, his girlfriend - but he is struggling with his anger over his current situation (needing a job so he can, you know, have money to live - and also pay for his sister's car storage) as well as the anger he clearly feels toward his sister. Given how she died, Mhok says she's to blame.

Day:

Day's losses are completely different and affect everyone in his life, most notably his mother and his brother. While Mhok was just muddling through life before he lost everything, Day is at the top of the world. He's a champion badminton player, headed into an important match when the unthinkable happens - his vision goes blurry and he can't see clearly. Now, we don't get a lot of info up front about exactly what's wrong with Day's vision - one of the nurses at the hospital says he had some sort of car accident (where I'm assuming he would have hit his head?). As a result of his injury, Day has lost his career, but more importantly, he's lost control over his life.

His injury is in control now - every moment of every day is now centered around the fact that he can't see. Every interaction he has with his family has to do with his vision loss. What's interesting is that he seems to be fairly accepting of his injury, of the fact that he can't see. It's the way he's being treated as a result that is making him angry - his family is definitely made it so he has little to no agency and no self-sufficiency in his life. He's in a wheelchair so he can be pushed around the house (instead of just being able to learn where the furniture is and walk himself - though he is still getting over an ankle injury). His brother is giving up his entire life it seems to be Day's carer - something clearly neither of them want.

So we have two angry men with dealing with massive loss - and knowing P'Aof, we will go along on their journey acceptance and healing.

ROUND 6: Misery Wizary is Eliminated!

Misery Wizary is my necromancer save from West of Loathing! She started with a somewhat warped sense of morality- having far too much confidence in herself as a good person, and far too quick to assume the worst of others. This lead to her learning necromancy, through the idea that the person most skilled in it should at least be a good person. She ended up hiding away after an Epiphany TM followed by The Guilt. And then she was pulled out by a strange little child name Romy who is now her son. Love this woman.

ROUND 7: Storm is Eliminated!

This one sorta devastated me ngl. Storm is a teenager with arguably the most complicated origin of any of my OCs! What’s important is that they’re part of (in at least one timeline) the Omori Deltarune AU! They’re one of Halkinna’s best friends- they can come off as edgy, but they have soo much love in they heart. They also enjoy writing angst.

ROUND 8: Arthur Morris is Eliminated!

Arthur Morris is one of my Shadows Over Loathing OCs- specifically my Cheese Wizard save! He’s very intelligent and rather soft spoken. He loves learning about various forms of magic, as well as their history. He also had an.. interesting dynamic with Noel, since he just simply could not match her energy. Oh yeah he also a crush on Charles, love to see it. He’s actually part of a duo- wonder if the other is somewhere around here ;D

Was Kurtcedes not replaced by Blaine coming along and taking up all Kurt’s time in season 2? As she didn’t like being the third wheel in The Substitute? I suppose they could have had Kurtcedes together in New York but I guess by then Kurt was Rachel’s side kick. And Mercedes is a lovely character, there wouldn’t be half as much drama going on in the loft in 4/5 as there was with Kurtcheltana.

Also regarding bi Blaine. Personally I don’t like the idea. Why? Well he’d have just been another Sam or Artie figure - dating all the girls in Glee club to provide various stories. Please not another Brittany boyfriend to piss off Santana. Maybe Blaine would have been nice with Tina, in 4/5, purely because he did love her platonically.

But I think it would have changed the Klaine relationships if Blaine had a history of previous girlfriends, maybe even previous boyfriends. The idea of them being each other’s first love, first time, first everything (and last!) and their love and devotion pretty much to no one else, just lifts their whole story. Maybe I’m just being old fashioned.

But I’m more drawn to the bi Sam idea, and the Blam option, if I had to choose a midgame for Blaine.

Re: Mercedes -

No, I'd argue that since Kurt was becoming way more popular (I believe he was the most popular character from the show) the writers wanted to capitalize on that bumping him up to a lead character. And thus, it'd be better for the writers to make him share time with the actual main character Rachel.

This is why Season 3 Hummelberry was shoved so hard down our throats. Blaine was a part of Kurt's story, and while there are a lot of reasons as to why Blaine faded into the background more during season 3 (mainly Darren's schedule) by season 3, they wanted to make Hummelberry a feature, and not have Klaine (or Kurt's individual story) such a main thing.

Essentially - Kurt's individual arc stops at season 2, because he becomes an accessory in Rachel's story (really, the way Blaine was an accessory to his story in season 2.)

Mercedes and Kurtcedes becomes a relic of the original landscape of the show, unfortunately. They never wanted to Mercedes to a higher tier, hence why she became a B and later C-list character. (To which I lament.)

Meanwhile, Bi Blaine!

I remember there was a time when people worried that if Blaine was made bi that'd mean, for some strange reason, that it'd cheapen the Klaine "gay" experience or something weird. :P (I'm definitely not saying that's what you're insinuating - just thinking out loud.)

While I personally don't see the character as bi - I'm always up for more bisexual representation. And I agree there were was a myriad of ways they could have achieved that -- Artie would have been an interesting choice. Jesse St. James another.

I wouldn't have minded if Blaine had experiences before Kurt, either, tbh. And I assumed he had at least made out with people (both boys and girls) before Kurt. I personally don't feal that more or less experience with other people has any affect on one's current relationship. However - people are free to enjoy any aspects of the story how they choose to - and that's fine by me. :)

As you tried to navigate the foreign street signs, a pair of Mexican Special Forces soldiers. Although that's what their patches displayed, you were having a moment of bisexual panic as they both looked like they walked off a modeling shoot. "¿Estás perdida, niña?" the woman flirted and you blushed in response. "Yes," you began to say in English and stopped yourself short as you palmed through your book of Spanish translations. As you panicked, the man responded, "Don't worry we also speak English, where are you trying to go?" "My hotel, it's on this street," you said and pointed to the location on your phone. "We can take you, you're in good hands with the Special Forces," he said and he began to lead the way. Throughout your walk, they gave you some friendly tips about where to go and how not to get lost again. They also advised you what parts of town to avoid. Finally, you reached your destination as you walked in, Alejandro stopped you. "Here's mine and Valeria's number if you ever need help" he said and gave you a wink. Valeria rolled her eyes in response and they continued on what you assumed was their evening patrol.

A peek into your relationship: Despite seeing both of them in less professional context, your heart always lay with Alejandro as Valeria had a sinister and cynical side to her. You spent occasional vacations with Alejandro but they grew less frequent as he mentioned a joint mission with some international help. This time, you had spent a few weeks with not so much as a text and were worried. You sat in your house checking your phone one morning when the doorbell rang. Who's Boss - Scaramouche x Reader

You blow on your hot drink in an attempt to cool it down; with the arrival of Autumn the temperatures had began to drop, forcing you to get rid of your summery outfits to make room in your wardrobe for cosier ones.

Though it doesn’t really matter what season it is, because today is your first day in Zapolyarny Palace after a long period of time spent on various missions assigned to you by the Tsaritsa herself, and in Snezhnaya the sun is almost a mirage.

Not to mention, it’s also your first day here as... Scaramouche’s higher up. Yes, after so many years of working and trying to outshine your boyfriend in every kind of task possible, you’ve finally done it, and you’re almost certain he already knows about this assuming by the looks everyone present in the common room is giving you and some things you’ve heard the recruits whisper.

It started as a little friendly competition when you two weren’t even dating, really, but you both thought it was fun and thrilling to challenge each other, so you never stopped even after you got together.

Once you’re done with your drink, you decide it’s time to stand up and go look for him to see his reaction; plus you’re just excited to get to spend some time with him again, since work rarely allows you to even stand in the same room.

You make your way through the hallways and climb a couple flights of stairs, waving to a few people and holding your laugh at the nervous stares some others give you, until you reach a certain door you know very well: it’s sort of distant from the other doors present on this particular floor, which also happens to be the quieter one of the palace, and you notice the same old polished nametag that sits right before your eyes; it reads the name ‘Scaramouche’ followed by his title, the 6thFatui Harbinger.

Before knocking or opening it you make sure to place your ear against the wooden door, but you hear nothing coming from the other side, so you pull away before anyone sees you and finally knock a couple of times.

“I’m busy.”

is the simple answer your boyfriend gives, at which you grab the handle and flung the door open with a wide grin on your face.

He jolts his head up and almost knocks over all the papers and fancy quill pens he must’ve placed on both his sides earlier, clearly startled; he even has to blink twice before realizing who it is that just violated his privacy in such a way.

“What the?! Since when are you here?”

“Oh, so that’s how you’re going to welcome me back?”

He rolls his eyes at your obviously fake pout and opens his mouth to say something, but he closes it immediately as if he just remembered something extremely important. You patiently wait for him to speak up, but instead he quickly tidies up his desk and goes back to his paperwork as if nothing happened. All the while, you stare at him amusedly;

“And you’re not even going to say anything about my promotion? Not even a boring ‘congratulations’?”

He scoffs.

“Welcome and congrats. Are you happy now? Can I do my job?”

“I don’t know, can you?”

You walk closer to him and bend down, resting your head on his shoulder. Anyone else would get frustrated at Scaramouche, but you know he’s acting like this only because he’s a little bit jealous... and perhaps because you forgot to reply to one of his letters? ...You’ll have to check later.

You stay like that for a while, the only noises filling the room being the one of your breaths and the soft buzzing of the quill’s tip against the paper as Scaramouche keeps writing. You scan the words carefully, admiring how his calligraphy makes even the most boring ones look fancy.

A couple of minutes go by and he sighs;

“Has anyone ever told you about personal space?”

He asks, not really expecting a serious answer. You hum as if in deep thought, and then shake your head.

“Thought so.”

“Aw come on, you’re being so mean to me on my first day back here. Do you want me to help you with those by the way?” you point at the big pile of papers on his right, “It looks like a lot to do on your own.”

He puts his quill aside and turns around to face you as you stand still again;

“Are you serious? Take today as a free day, you’ve been around Teyvat for so long I-“

“Oh, was that an order? Should I remind you who’s boss between us now?”

He groans loudly and you let out a laugh;

“Just kidding, I should probably do that. I’ll leave you to your boring paperwork then.”

You give him a quick kiss on the cheek before walking towards the door, now that you think about it you still need to unpack your things and you haven’t even said hi to the other Harbingers as well; you remember how Childe also came back a while ago and in his last letter he asked you to come say hi, even if nowadays he’s busy training rookies. Scaramouche would’ve probably burned that letter to ashes already if he knew about it.

Before you can close the door behind you though, your boyfriend calls your name.

“Huh? What is it?”

“I think I can finish these later actually, it’s not urgent stuff anyways. So...” he trails off.

“So?”

“...So you can tell me about your equally boring missions and how the hell you even managed to get a promotion, I guess.”

You walk back inside with a smile on your face after hearing his words, though you can’t help but mess with him a little more.

“But you looked like you didn’t care just five minutes ago?”

“I still don’t! I just want to look like a good boyfriend.”

He’s joking, and you can clearly tell by the fact that he’s actually returning your smile, something he rarely ever does to anyone but you. He stands up from his desk and, after locking the door, you both walk over to the small leather couch he keeps in his personal office and room, your heart beating a little bit faster at the thought of finally being able to cuddle with your boyfriend.

As you sit and settle down so that your legs and foreheads are touching you glance outside the window, and notice it’s starting to pour. You then look back at Scaramouche, whose eyes are now closed, and you pinch his cheek.

“Don’t fall asleep yet! I have so many things to tell you.”

“Ugh.” He mutters, moving a little closer to you, “Be quick, especiallyif you need to brag.”

Random jakeward trivia ig, but how do you think their relationship functions later in life? Like, when Jake's like thirty and stuff, what's the cover story, what are their careers (or Jake's, since ed cant really consistently hold a job for vampire reasons), do they live near the tribe? Near the cullens?

(Tangentially related, how does Jake feel about being visually older then Ed? Especially when hes still like a teen. Local teen looks 8 years older then 112 year old boyfriend, having a lot of fun with that.)

Thanks for the ask @riote ! Can you believe I've never really thought too much about it before? LOL. Here's how I think it would go:

Unfortunately I don't think they would be able to stay near the tribe for fear of being spotted by Forks residents. I would think they would visit the reservation surreptitiously, perhaps by boat. I imagine they would move around with the Cullens, not living with them, but nearby. I think they go off on their own sometimes too though.

I think job-wise, Jacob could do anything he wanted, though I feel like he'd prefer a job where he's working with his hands rather than sitting at a desk, if the woodworker and car mechanic in him are any indication. That's the benefit of being eternally buff and 25, he'd be an ideal hire for a manual labor type of job. I imagine Jake gets lots of attention, and that Edward would have a lot of jealousy issues. Edward is beautiful too, but the boyish face will hold him back in terms of a career, so I imagine he'd be an eternal college student, or sometimes be a work at home composer under various aliases.

The thing is, it doesn't matter how old Jacob gets, he'll never age past 25 if he keeps phasing, and he would have to continue if he wants to stay with Edward. So he would never look that significantly older than Edward, who could realistically claim to be 19 or 20 if he dressed and carried himself a certain way. Jake is stupidly tall, but Edward's pretty darn tall too. I don't think they would need a cover story really, they could be a couple. It's not unusual for a "bear" to be with a "Twink" after all. It's also not unusual for there to be an age gap in gay relationships (look at Queer as Folk). Assuming they would live in cities that would be accepting of their relationship, I think they'd be just fine living out and proud.

So they would live for years and years, always looking young, until Jake's heart gives out. (I mean, I feel like this is a given eventually since he's not actually immortal) Then Edward would find a way to end his existence, I imagine. Perhaps he could convince Jasper to do it. Whatever their end is, it would be undoubtedly sad.

Cant quite see how jm and jk are marketed as a couple.

It’s common for bts members to be dressed alike, often at least one pair have matching outfits to make their fashion scheme more cohesive. And there had been various other recurring units between members.

Directed to pose? Yeah im pretty sure jm takes the lead in setting the tone for their photoshoots 🤣 take the pizza and leopard print fits photoshoot, jm closes in on jk’s face when the director just said to look at each other. Jk copies jm’s poses to tease him. I dont think the directors would think of that.

Meanwhile jk just suddenly intertwines his hand w jm’s and holds it up for the camera in a shoot with him, jm and rm. Yeah they dont need to be prompted.

I might be naive to think that jm and jk just act like their usual selves and that’s what the camera catches. If all the footage of jikook interacting together are affectionate and intimate then what other choice do editors have than to just show it?

As for them being a dancing duo, jk does a lot of the lifting and jm does a lot of the… being lifted for a lack of better terms. Their bodies are practically trained for it by now, their physiques accommodating. To me it’s them extending their chemistry into their performances because i assume they have an understanding of each others and their own balance and strength and whatnot. An example is when jk and tae lift jm, jk automatically was able to cater for jm while tae struggled to find the right grip on jimin.

Of course it might be a company decision to have jm and jk perform the duet but i dont think it’s with the intention of promoting them as a couple but rather for convenience. It’s more like jm and jk make lifting and dancing together so easy that it might as well be them.

I will disagree a little bit that there are some moves that big hit makes that are essentially purely romantic in connotation. Such as the Dynamite holiday remix, where they were placed in completely matching clothes (more so than the others) and placed apart from the other 4. Plus the move Jimin then made. They very much so looked like a couple on what is considered a couple holiday.

They have had multiple photoshoots that just scream boyfriend vibes that were organized by the company. Why or how much choice jikook had in those choices is unknown, but they have had the most couple like photoshoot subunits than literally any other pair. For example in 2017 the rainbow unicorn shoot, using the same type of unicorn float that was used in the 2016 Seoul pride festival:

Locations, sets, props, outfits were all chosen by staff we can assume. We can also assume that at least some of these poses, such as look at each other or put your arm around him were also directed. The chemistry though, that's for sure all them. But it does lead to the question as to why they get put into couple like situations in the company. No, it's not about them pushing the jikook agenda. Jikook is not even close to the most popular ship, if they were to push a ship for marketing purposes, pushing KM would be a shitty business move. Lol

Some units and pairings, photos or dances... that's all them. Such as Own It or Coming of Age, or selcas posted or all the behind the scenes footage we get. Some where they look extra couple-y in photoshoots is on them or in group shots, that's them being them. But its not crazy to wonder why some of these things were even done. The rainbow unicorn photoshoot as offical content? I mean really. They KNOW what that looks like and did it anyway... they KNOW what the Dynamite holiday bit looked like... and did it anyway. Jimin definitely upped the game with the Dynamite Holiday move he pulled, but the way they looked and were separated out together, that was something BH knew would make them look "together" and made that choice.

Is this maybe the company's way of showing they support them? Giving them leeway to showcase their love in more safe ways. Showing that they have the support of their company behind them regardless? I don't know. No, I don't think its an act. You can put anyone in matching outfits and shove them into a picnic set, how romantic and boyfriend-y the photos came out was all jikook. Lol but it's interesting to make note of for sure. Their chemistry is their own though.

The only other thing I'll say here is that the Black Swan dance was way more than JK can lift Jimin. They all can and have all carried him around multiple times. I don't know how this choice was made, I truly would love to get more of the planning process behind the choreo, but this was a statement. KM preformed a romantic duet together at an award show. There is literally no other way to phrase that one. And no one else could have done it the way they could. It's not just about Jimin being light and easy to lift, he is classically trained. He is the ONLY one who could have done that move. And JK is an extremely talented dancer who learns very quickly and works very hard. Add into that how well they work together and the chemistry they have, no one else could have done that the way they could. They took a typically male/female romantic duet and made it their own. It was a choice by them, by their company and it was a statement for sure. I'm bringing back my post about the Black Swan dance here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet:

Essentially a lot of this can come across as BH and Jikook making statements. What you choose to see that statement as is up to you, I guess. I don't think they are pushing a shipping agenda for business purposes though. But they do keep giving us jikook. It would be interesting to know how much of the process all the guys are involved in when it comes to picking units/sets and their poses, etc. The behind the scenes content of all these units/photoshoots is more interesting and "real" to me anyway though.

Coups: I agree that purely going off vibes he's pretty hard to read + I don't think I've actually seen him show attraction to a man - still, at the moment I believe he's bi due to various receipts (wearing that rainbow flag jacket multiple times accompanied with a Balenciaga Pride shirt, GOSE TTT 2019 where he changed his own lyrics from "my baby girl" to "my baby boy", saying he wants to be in Slytherin because Draco Malfoy is cute). At the very least, he's definitely an ally.

Jeonghan: I never thought he was gay - he's clearly attracted to women and most likely dated Sowon from Gfriend for a while (cue infamous moment where Minghao and Joshua turned to smirk at him at an awards show when Gfriend won an award). I also don't believe he's bi as I've never seen him show attraction to a man but unlike Coups, there's nothing else to back any alleged bisexuality up. I think that a lot of the "Jeonghan is gay" discussion stems from him having long hair and being seen as the "mother" of the group at their debut. I believe he's aware of the effect he can have on men but doesn't reciprocate any attraction.

Joshua: Honestly one of the more confusing male idols I've stanned when it comes to this kind of discussion. I lean towards straight - I know people cite his English voice a lot but I think it could just be a typical LA accent or maybe he picked some mannerisms up from some gay friends lol. I definitely think he's probably the most private SVT member so I wouldn't at all be surprised if he had some secret boyfriend somewhere, but at the moment I think he's straight.

Jun: Where do I start...I honestly think Jun is one of the gayest idols currently active right now. Something which I find really interesting is how Vernon is widely known by Carats to be a LGBT ally but I don't see the same kind of discussion around Jun, despite Jun's instances of allyship arguably being in a more "dangerous" context than Vernon's (in Chinese/through Weibo rather than in English). I'm just gonna assume that because most of his allyship is done when he's in China, Carats are less likely to see it unless they actively follow Jun stans. But anyway, for allyship there's:

The song itself is about people being shunned and isolated due to society's prejudices, and it asks people to not judge based on appearances or preconceived notions. Jun would post a link to the song on Weibo, along with "I hope everyone can be brave and break through the shackles of preconceptions". Perhaps what people find the most important was his relationship with Pentagon's Yanan on CYZJ - sooo many moments which I think added up to something: the flirting when they first became partners (Yanan: Are you confessing to me? / Jun: Yes, confessing to you right now [...] Jun: Didn't I tell you I've always wanted to see what you'll look like when you become a wild boy? / Yanan: How wild do you want?), the joke about Yanan cheating on Jiacheng with Jun, how much they clearly cared for each other, the other contestants making jokes about it (Jun to Zhennan: I have you in my heart / Zhennan: What about Yanan? / Jun: *looks flustered and hits him* + Minghao's "did you guys come here thinking this was a dating show? The both of you are so cringey") - I don't think their relationship ever progressed past friendship but I do think about what might have happened in another life lol

Didn't mean to write so much but yeah, Jun is firmly in the gay column for me (although bisexuality is also an option, even though I can't recall much of how he acts around women (except in CYZJ but I'm not sure how much that can be chalked down to general social anxiety/being unfamiliar with women)).

Hoshi: I used to think he was straight but I think so many things add up to him being bi. Apart from just general vibes, I think there's a lot of stuff to talk about when you start looking into him but he just doesn't have that One Big Receipt TM which might be why some people overlook him. I feel like we can confidently say he's an ally (the infamous gay chicken rights video, preordering multiple Pride jackets/hoodies which he made sure he was first photographed wearing during Pride month), performances influenced by gay culture and just general gay shenanigans (contacting a vogueing expert to help with the Touch choreo, the choreo with the male backup dancers in Spider), and there are instances of him being attracted to men (checking out Jun in that SVT School series, saying he wanted to run a bakery because the owner was really handsome + mentioning him again in an interview months later, got really flustered when Jeonghan flirted with him). Some K-carats also make jokes about him "liking it up the ass" lol so...do with that what you will. In general, I just get the feeling he'd be down to be with either men or women. Wonwoo: Don't even know what to say about him because to me he's just so overwhelmingly straight I don't consider anything else? Pretty sure he's an ally at least (read Call Me By Your Name and even bought a peach-themed phonecase afterwards...) but I've never once seen him do anything remotely gay. I remember there was that rumour about him having the same girlfriend since he was 14 which is a very Wonwoo thing to do, so I choose to believe it. But I did appreciate how he (and Mingyu) refused to say what the Bittersweet MV actually was about + just kept reiterating that it's up to the viewer's interpretation.

Woozi: Former ignorant homophobe but I like to think he's come around to the idea (or I would hope so, seeing as the majority of SVT seem to be at least allies). I still think he's obviously straight.

DK: Apart from that time he said he couldn't look at Jaehyun without his heart pounding because he was too handsome, I haven't seen anything else from him that made me raise an eyebrow. I think he plays up his idol persona a bit - and part of that is acting very flamboyantly - which might give people pause. He seems like a sweet guy but I'm pretty sure he's straight.

Mingyu: Another enigma...I learn towards him being straight but bisexuality is also an option (really don't think he's gay). What's interesting about Mingyu is I remember that he, Jun, and Seungkwan used to be touted as the "gay trio" on this thread but over the years people have grown less sure of him. He was the one who came up with the idea of Bongbong being genderless and saying it can be loved by both men and women, but I'm not sure how much that indicates. What I do find interesting is how he's very artsy along with Vernon and Minghao, and the three of them are obviously very close and go out together a lot, but of course straight guys can be artsy too.

Minghao: He's my bias so I admit I could be, well, biased but I just can't fully write him off as straight yet. Although he hasn't actually said anything outright, I do believe he's an ally (that Weverse art of all the people kissing which he captioned with a bunch of gay couple + family emojis with one heterosexual family emoji at the end, seeing Hedwig and the Angry Inch with Vernon, the Burberry Pride shirt, his smile during Vernon's answer about supporting LGBT Carats). I know people bring up the "girl or boy?" ideal type thing a lot, but I'm kinda inclined to believe that as a 19-year-old Chinese guy living in Korea he didn't mean it as some kind of grand bisexual coming out and his Korean wasn't just good enough then to explain what he meant...but maybe that's what he was hoping people would think so who knows! Apart from that, I've noticed he never uses gendered language in Chinese interviews when talking about his future partner (harder to do in Chinese than Korean, I think) aaand maybe this is just me being delulu but I've also noticed that he loves kids but never brings up wanting them? He always just says "oh I want to live on the beach with my partner and our dog"...but maybe that's a reach. When it comes to being attracted to men, I'm also gonna reach here and say that when he was a mentor on QCYN there was a weird moment where he asked one of the trainees to repeat his part because he looked so cool/handsome, and Minghao looked kinda embarrassed saying it. And then Minghao went into the performance himself and that trainee smiled at him and it looked like Minghao's ears went red. Plus there's that whole thing about him hating Y/N fanservice...so I think I'm leaning towards bi but I'm not really sure.

Seungkwan: Used to think he was gay, then I had a very brief period of being like "well maybe it's just all stereotypes and he's actually straight", then I did some digging and was like "never mind he's gay". Apart from all the stereotypical mannerisms and being a fan of gay icons such as Beyonce and Uhm Junghwa (who he called "queen" in English), he has shown attraction to men (not being able to look Kai in the face when handing him a water bottle on Amazing Saturday + covering his face on a different show when Kai started doing a sexy dance, arguably Vernon - don't want to go too much into shipping territory but honestly there used to be a loooot of weird moments between them which other members even picked up on). There is also a video where the members are asked which member they would introduce their younger sisters to, and Wonwoo says "Seungkwan!", Seungkwan says "Don't you have a younger brother?", and then a few of the other members get weird looks on their faces. Another thing I find important is his ease around women - I mentioned this before but he reminds me of Key in this regard, even female idols are so comfortable around Seungkwan because they know they don't have to worry about any dating rumours.

Vernon: Clearly an ally and makes sure people are aware of it - a lot of the music he listens to, as well as movies and TV shows (Sense8, Moonlight, Cloud Atlas), are linked to LGBT culture. I think bringing up the "RIP SOPHIE" tweet here is important as I honestly found that out-of-character for Vernon - he doesn't use their group Twitter much and it's unusual for idols to make "RIP [celebrity]" statements anyway, so I think him doing that means he wanted to send a message. He also owns clothes from multiple Pride collections, and of course the famous equal rights moment. The lyrics to Rocket (and the lyrics to the English version being even gayer) are also pretty important, especially paired with when that fan noticed there were no female pronouns in the lyrics and Vernon said "thank you for realising it" (implying he did it on purpose). My personal opinion is that Vernon is bi but it's very believable that he's also just a straight ally.

Dino: Love him but he is possibly the straightest male idol ever...I have not seen a single thing which indicates any possible attraction to men.

“sorry to bother you at this time but you are the emergency contact of miss y/n l/n and i’m here to inform you that she is passed out drunk at (club location) so if you don’t mind please pick her up for her own safety”

without a second thought, kageyama agrees and grabs his keys to his car and basically pressed on the gas and zoomed at the said location

he doesnt even realize how worried he was til he noticed how his grip on the steering wheel was so tight his knuckles turned white

even if you two broke it off, he still genuinely deeply cares for you to this extent of picking your ass up at some club doing god knows what

kageyama has probably began overanalyzing the situation and thinking it was his fault on why you were acting like this

when he arrives at the club, thankfully you were still there with the bartender

you were slouched on the bar with shot glasses surrounding you

“i just miss him so much” you cried to the bartender. “i mean i gave him everything! he was my first he even took away my goddamn virginity and yet..” you paused, lips quivering, as the thought of kageyama breaking up with you replayed in your head like a broken record

“y/n” kageyama speaks up after eavesdropping at your little rant to the bartender

suna obviously saw this and was salty abt how you looked like that WITHOUT him

so he was mad,,, at himself and at you for some whackass reason

and to deal with his anger, he resolved into practicing volleyball surpass his limits

(mf thot he was deku or smth) 

because of this he sprained his ankle rlly badly that he ended up on the hospital

and since he didnt bother to change your contact info, you were still the emergency contact

that means you got contacted by the hospital at 11 pm 

IMMEDIATELY you rushed to the hospital cs wtf happened to your (ex)boyfriend

and when you arrived at the emergency room, you see suna sitting on the bed with his leg elevated 

“whoops” is what all suna says when he watches you go through a rollercoaster of emotions

you didn’t exactly know if you wanted to cry, laugh or be angry at his situation

a/n → this request made me so incredibly happy because all the knowledge i acquired my musical phase finally came in handy!! also i haven’t listened to dear evan hansen since i downloaded the illegal bootleg on my laptop like last year so i don’t remember much abt it :( i just kind of described it really vaguely lol anyway hope u enjoy ;)

jaemin dropped his backpack carelessly onto the floor of the crowded cafeteria. he set his plate down on the lunch table, not even glancing at you as he eagerly dug into his food.

“sorry i’m late,” he says to you, eyes concentrated on the orange citrus in his hand. his fingers skillfully begin peeling off the skin. “i had to stay a couple minutes after history class as punishment for eating during the lesson.”

you roll your eyes, an amused smile on your face. “disappointed but not surprised.”

at hearing this comment, he glares at you. “hey, i didn’t have breakfast today and my stomach was growling like, really loud! seriously, it sounded like a whale mating call or something.”

“and who’s fault is that?” you ask, tucking your hands beneath your chin.

he frowns as he pops an orange wedge in his mouth. “mine, i guess. but it’s only because coach told me i should eat less if i wanna play better. something about less body mass making it easier to move around the court.”

“well, i’m pretty sure he didn’t mean skipping out on entire meals, doofus,” you retort. “breakfast is the most important meal of the day, isn’t that what everyone says?”

“true.” suddenly, his eyes light up. “so, you’re gonna start bringing me breakfast in the morings?”

you raise an eyebrow. “i’m sorry, when did we decide on that?”

he flashes you one of his infamous na jaemin smiles. “just now.”

“yeah well, tell your coach you’ll be losing that weight because there’s no way i’m going to wake up at the crack of dawn just to get you a mcmuffin.”

“but it would make my mornings so much better,” he whines. “having basketball practice so early sucks but with my cute little cheerleader there it would be totally worth it... the mcdonald’s is a bonus.”

you can’t help but laugh. “sorry nana, but i prefer sleeping in over watching a bunch of sweaty guys toss a ball around at 6 a.m.”

“fine... buy me a coffee after school and i’ll let you slide.”

“maybe tomorrow, i’ve got theatre today.”

“well, after that then,” he suggests.

you shake your head. “but then you’d have to wait and we’re doing a full rehearsal today.”

he shrugs. “i can wait, i don’t have practice.”

“yeah but i know how you are, na jaemin. you have the attention span of a goldfish.”

“not when it comes to you. you always have my attention.”

you’re about to laugh at what you assumed had been a purposefully cliché one-liner on his behalf but there’s no sign that he was joking. his devilish smirk and teasing eyes that usually appeared when he flirted with the girls on campus were nowhere to be found. instead you’re met with a straight face and his glimmering eyes that seem almost expectant, concentrated on you only. it takes you by surprise. was he being serious or something? the thought alone has your heart beat steadily increasing.

“okay fine, fine. anything for you to stop staring at me like that.”

he tilts his head to the side, resembling a lost puppy. “staring at you like what?”

“like—“ you pause, debating on whether or not you should say it. “like you’re in love with me or something.”

he only chuckles. “you have no idea.”

you almost choke on your sandwich. before you have a chance to ask him what in the world he meant by that, one of his teammates from the basketball team appears behind him, stealing his attention away.

“hey jaem,” donghyuck greets as he ruffles the younger boy’s hair. “coach just called a team meeting.”

“right now?” jaemin asks, displeased.

the brunette nods, folding his arms over his chest.

jaemin suppresses a groan as he stands and grabs his belongings. “sorry y/n. i’ll see you later for your rehearsals, okay?”

you nod. “see you later, nana.”

“bye jaemin’s girlfriend!” donghyuck exclaims receiving a punch in the arm from your ‘boyfriend’ although he doesn’t deny.

“i’m excited,” comments jaemin later that day. he has a bright grin on his face as you make your way through the hallway to the multipurpose room where you usually went for theatre club .

“oh really? i didn’t know you liked musicals.”

“well not really. but i like you.”

for the second time in one day, jaemin catches you off guard. you kick yourself for letting his shamelessness get to you. after all, wasn’t he like that with every girl? he had always been a charmer, you knew that before you had even met him.

na jaemin—point guard and certified flirt.

the only reason you had grown closer was due to him being in critical need of academic help and your teacher seeing you as a fit tutor. at first everyone found it amusing; the classic popular guy and quiet girl cliche. nobody had expected that you two would become practically glued by the hip. especially not you. maybe that was why you were so opposed to jaemin flirting with you. you were best friends but you knew how he was: not interested but never one to turn down any kind of attention. there was just no way that among so many girls you would be an exception.

“well, i hope you can like me for two hours because that’s probably how long this is gonna take,” you say, trying to move the conversation forward.

“i already told you, i have nowhere to be!” he exclaims. “besides, when would i ever turn down an opportunity to stare at you for a couple hours?”

you can’t help but roll you eyes, playfully. “please refrain from using any of your cheesy pick up lines on me while we’re there.”

“why?” he whines. “are you embarrassed of me?” when you turn to look at him he’s making those ridiculous puppy eyes that he knows you find hilarious.

you snort at seeing the familiar face. “when you do that, definitely.”

“alright fine. i’ll try to be on my best behavior in front of your little theatre friends.”

“thank you.” despite not believing a word he says, you still push open the door leading to the multipurpose room.

before you even get one foot in the door, your cast mate is already in your face.  

“y/n, finally!” he says, looking beyond relieved at your presence. “i thought you’d never come! c’mon, you gotta change into your costume so we can start.”

“it’s not even opening night, jeno, calm down!” you say, laughing. “and i’m only a couple minutes late, it’s fine.”

he frowns. “you know how anxious i get. everything needs to be perfect.”

“yeah i know, sorry renjun.”

jeno makes a face, showcasing his disgust with your comment that compared him to your strict director. “shut up, you’re gonna summon him.”

“summon who?”

speak of the devil.

you shake your head at renjun who has appeared besides jeno. “not important.”

he smiles sarcastically, brushing his blonde bangs out of his face. “oh good. so can we move on to the actually important things now? like how you’re 6 minutes late?”

you sigh. “i had to wait outside jaemin’s class that’s on the other side of campus, sorry.”

but renjun doesn’t seem to care about your apology. instead, his attention has shifted to jaemin who stands behind you, hands stuffed into his pockets and eyes curiously observing the interactions between you and your friends.

“hello there.” your director moves past you, extending his hand towards your best friend which he takes awkwardly. “pleasure to meet you. you’re on the basketball team, right? i heard you scored the winning touchdown at the last game. congrats!”

“um, it’s just called a point in basketball but... thank you.”

renjun ignores jaemin’s correction. “is it your first time visiting the theater club?”

the brunette nods.

“oh, that’s wonderful! do you plan on coming to see our play on the 15th of this month?”

jaemin scratches the back of his head. “um... to be honest, i didn’t even know you guys had one coming up.”

renjun laughs, harder than usual. “that’s quite alright. it’s called ‘dear evan hansen’. it’s about the trials of high school life for a depressed teen who’s caught in a huge lie.” his hands fly around wildly, using them for emphasis as he dramatically explains the plot to jaemin. “you should come support us!”

“well, i would love t—“

“great! entry is $10.00, cash only. and definitely invite the rest of the basketball team!” with that, renjun rushes off, shouting something about how that was ‘exactly how to sell tickets for the play’ to the rest of the staff.

jaemin gives you a confused stare. “what just happened?”

you chuckle and give him a pat on the back. “you just experienced firsthand what we call here at the theater club the huang renjun effect. never fails to suck somebody into buying tickets for our shows.”

“well, now i kinda wanna buy one.” he turns to you, his eyes widening so big it’s comical. “wow, he’s good.”

“he’s more of a salesman than a director, that’s what you always say, right?” you turn to jeno who nods at the statement. “oh, this is jeno, by the way. he’s one of the few people around here who is not crazy.”

jeno waves at jaemin who smiles weakly at him, too busy observing his physique to say anything. his costume consisted of a blue polo shirt that made his biceps and veiny arms much more prominent. the shirt was pretty tight as well, making his toned chest and torso visible to just about anyone. the khakis he wore were fitted and his thick thighs were impossible to ignore. jaemin can’t help but wonder what a guy with his body was doing in a theatre club when he could be such a useful player on the court.

he looks up at his face, his cheeks curved into a smile that reached his squinted eyes. he would admit, he was a good looking dude. he then glances at you and realizes—you spent almost everyday with jeno. he feels guilty for it but he can’t stop himself from feeling slightly threatened by your cast mate.  

jeno clears his throat, trying to ignore the awkward silence that has settled upon the three of you. “um, it was nice meeting you.” he shifts his attention to you. “i’m gonna finish getting ready.”

once he has left, you let out a giggle that you had been holding in during the entire exchange. “what’s the matter? you got all choked up just now. look, i know jeno’s hot but you gotta keep your cool just like the rest of us, okay?”  

he frowns as he folds his arms over his chest, your last comment only fueling his feelings. “quit teasing me.”

“aw c’mon, you know i gotta give you a hard time,” you say, knocking his shoulder with yours. “it’s my duty as your best friend.”

before he can even respond, renjun’s voice is heard, being amplified by the megaphone in his hand. “rehearsals will start in 15 minutes instead of 5 because y/n wants to chit-chat with her friend instead of going to hair and makeup!”

you scowl at having been called out. “alright, i’ve gotta go get ready. please enjoy the show, though, okay?”

jaemin nods, smiling at seeing the genuine glint in your eyes. “of course.”

you were reaching the half point of the musical and jaemin had already cried twice.

with the looks he was receiving from the stage crew and even some of the cast members up on stage, he could tell they hadn’t expected him to be as emotional as he was but he couldn’t help it. the play was incredibly sad and he found himself not even knowing who to pity.  

there was jeno’s character, evan hansen, who was stuck in a hole he had dug himself into but there was still a bit of him that was innocent and so helpless.

then there was connor murphy played by a kid named park jisung, who had only been around for a couple of scenes since his character was so tormented he had taken his life at the beginning of the play.  

there were many other supporting roles, such as family members or friends and they all seemed to have their own issues but the character that truly got to him was yours.  

you were playing zoe murphy, connor’s sister who was grappling with the death of her brother the entire musical, not sure whether to mourn him or remember him for the abusive person he was. in fact, your performance had tugged at jaemin’s heart strings so intensely that your solo song was the reason he had cried the first time around.

your acting skills had impressed him and your vocals left him stunned. all the times you and him had carpooled and sung the songs on the radio at the top of your lungs, he had never noticed your heavenly pipes. now that he had, he could feel himself becoming even more into you, if that was possible.

he sat on the edge of his seat, eyes focused intently on you and jeno as the 10th song began. as soon as the sound of the soft piano begins, jaemin prepares himself to shed tears once more but to his surprise, it seemed to be taking a more romantic turn.  

he could only watch as you and jeno sang about being together and not letting go of each other... basically saying everything he wanted to tell you. he knew it was all a part of the act but seeing a guy as perfect as jeno pour his feelings out to you as you watched him with heart eyes and sang about how mutual it was proved to be incredibly tough. it made him feel like all his shameless flirts and stares that were too long to be just friendly were useless. why couldn’t making you his be as easy as jeno was making it seem?

before he can beat himself up for it anymore you and jeno lock lips. it isn’t just a quick peck, either. your hand tangles itself into his gelled back hair and his hand ends up on your waist as your lips move against each other, rhythmically. it was obvious to anyone that you guys had practiced this various times. or maybe it was just natural chemistry? jaemin isn’t sure what’s worse. all he knows is that he can’t take another second of watching you two engage in your passionate kiss when all he wishes is that he were in jeno’s shoes.

so, without a second thought he gets up and rushes out the door. he doesn’t look back at you because he doesn’t want to see the confusion and disappointment that will surely be on your face. he doesn’t want to deal with the consequences of his childish actions. he doesn’t stop running until he reaches the gym and takes a seat in the bleachers. he doubles over, head in his hands as he pants heavily in an attempt to catch his breath.

shortly after, much to his surprise, the door swings open and there you stand.

“what are you doing here?” he asks, sitting up straight.

“me? what about you, jaemin?” you approach him, slowly. “you just ran out of the room, for god’s sake. everyone’s worried, i’m worried.”

he feels another wave of guilt wash over him for interrupting your rehearsal and going against the one thing he said he was going to do: behave. “please go back. i’m fine, y/n. just needed a breather.”

“oh no,” you say walking up the stairs to the top row of bleachers where your best friend sits. “don’t ‘i’m fine, y/n’ me. you are most definitely not fine.” once you reach him you take a seat to his left, making sure to leave a generous space between you and him. “what happened back there? i swear, if renjun said anything to you i’ll personally make sure he never looks in your direction again.”

“no, it’s not that.” he pauses. “you and jeno were just—“ he trails off, his throat going dry.

you carefully place a hand on his arm, letting him know you would wait for anything he had to say.

“you were just really convincing.”

“well, isnt that a good thing?”

“it was... too much for me to see,” he confesses.

“so, what you’re saying is it’s too unrealistic? do we need to tone it down a bit?”

he nearly groans in frustration. “it’s not that! i wanted to be him, y/n! i want to feel your lips and hear about how much you want me!”

you retract your hand from his arm. “are you serious right now?”

he shoots you a harsh look and you notice how his eyes are glossed over, confirming just how serious he was. he gets up to leave, accepting his rejection before you grab his arm again and yank him down. he lands back on the bench and stares at you, visibly puzzled.

“if you would have waited a second longer you would know how badly i want those things too, you goldfish.”

the tears in his eyes fall but he still shoots you a toothy grin, showing he was anything but unhappy. you bring your hand up to his face, your thumb softly rubbing away the wet stains on his cheek. he unconsciously leans into your touch, never once breaking eye contact. once he’s had enough of delicate touches, he pulls you into his chest and you breathe in his scent—peppermint and coffee.

“i’m sorry.”

“for what?”

“for basically trading spit with jeno right in front of you.”

“it’s alright, baby... let me be the only person you practice that kiss scene with and i’ll let you slide.”

“deal.”
