#And I very much hope that I was NOT like this at Luther and Sloane's wedding.

Allison Hargreeves is being unfairly vilified?
Allison Hargreeves as in 'SA'd Luther' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves as in 'confirmed Viktor's worst ongoing fears and anxieties just because Viktor was grieving his friend/stepson and it annoyed her' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves 'contributed to the deaths of two of her siblings' Allison Hargreeves? Allison Hargreeves 'nothing anyone else has lost over the course of this nightmare matters as much as what I lost so I'm gonna fuck everything up potentially irreparably' Allison Hargreeves?
That Allison Hargreeves? I mean don't get me wrong I like her but she's very much a villain right now. She's an interesting villain, a compelling villain, a better villain than Reggie since we actually know wtf her problem is and we wish things hadn't turned out this way. But a villain all the same.
i don't think allison is a villain. at best, i'd say she's an antihero. at worst, she was a catalyst for viktor's arc in season three.
i would like to start by saying that i'm not defending allison's actions. i think what she did was wrong. however, i don't think she deserves all the hate that she's gotten. she's a character that is very morally gray, and people continue to paint her in solely black or white.
what i try to convey in this... very long post is that there's a reason for what allison does in season three. the question of if she’s a villain or not can be debated, but i believe that the reasons for her actions don’t make her a villain.
a big reason why the umbrella academy is such an incredible show is that all the umbrellas are flawed and nuanced, and despite it all they love. all of the umbrellas have their faults, and allison is no different.
in season three allison has lost all hope. she thinks she will never see her child again, her husband is dead, the world is ending, and to her it seems like her siblings don't give a shit. amidst all the chaos and the whirlwind of her life, she needs something that she's used to. something she knows how to navigate.
so she turns to luther. and she gets the comfort she's looking for but it's not right.
allison and luther's relationship is something that has been a topic of many debates in this fandom. i don't really want to get into it right now, but they've always been a person of comfort to each other. allison wants to feel loved and cared for, and she thinks she can get that comfort from luther.
allison is naturally selfish. she's used to getting what she wants. she's used to having the world at her fingertips. and yet almost everything she's held close to her heart has been ripped away from her. and she's never getting it back.
in season three she falls back onto her old habits, rumoring people left and right with no consideration for others. it makes sense because it's the only way she knows how to get what she wants.
and then she rumors luther. she doesn't want to lose him either, and she thinks that he's choosing sloane over her (which is true, but she thinks he's leaving forever. she thinks she'll lose him too). but she almost instantly realizes what she's done, almost instantly tries to take it away.
as for her relationship with viktor, that's another can of worms. in season one, allison is the only one really trying to mend that relationship with viktor. but it's a rocky road. allison snaps at viktor, viktor snaps at allison. these two have had tension from the very start. eventually, that bond had to snap.
at the start of season three, viktor is the only one that really tries to help allison. he stands up for her, and comforts her after she returns from la. but by episode three allison is so consumed by her grief that she's already clashing with viktor.
and when harlan makes an appearance, it just gets worse. harlan is like a son to viktor. someone viktor can care for. and when viktor turns that care and attention away from allison and instead towards harlan, it hurts. why is viktor allowed to have his child when allison will never get to see claire again?
in season three luther tells viktor that allison has “always been good to you (viktor)”. but there comes a point where your love and gratitude towards someone can morph into bitterness and hate.
the reason i say allison is a catalyst for viktor in season three is because the writers needed someone to contest his ideas. someone that will create a struggle for viktor that he will ultimately come out of with a new lesson learned. and allison is a great contender for that position. the show needs conflict in order to have an engaging story at all, and tense relationships between the siblings can be seen throughout all three seasons. (luther and diego in season one, ben and klaus in season two)
as for the deaths of her siblings, do you really think she wanted that to happen? she doesn’t want to lose any more people, that’s the main driver of her character shift in this season.
allison turns towards reginald because she sees it as the only option left. klaus does the same thing, so why is it any different when allison does it? she didn’t know her siblings would die in the process.
allison isn’t even the only sibling that has contributed to a sibling’s (almost) death. viktor slashes her throat in season one, ben sacrifices himself to save the world, and luther willingly walks into the room to talk to reginald. how is that allison’s fault?
i think this is also why five gives his talk to viktor, not allison. he understands what allison is going through on some level, understands the despair of losing those who are close to you. understands being willing to do anything to get them back. even though he quite loudly disagrees with allison making a deal with reginald, it's because he knows she's getting tricked. reginald never had their best interests at heart.
they’ve all lost people, and they all react to that loss in different ways. in season 1, when diego finds that patch was killed, he instantly wants to go for revenge. he plans on going after hazel and cha cha but five inevitably talks him out of it.
allison doesn’t have that influence. in fact, diego suggests to instead let that grief out through anger. i don’t think it was a very good solution in the end.
and despite all that, she wants to redeem herself. she tries to tell viktor the truth, she admits that she made the plan for all of them. she kills reginald and she’s the one that pushes the button at the end of season three. there’s so much left that we don’t know. did allison know what would happen when she pressed the button? did she know what reginald’s real plan was?
but in the end, allison is the reality of a person who has lost those who are closest to her. it’s probably the best job the writers have done while showing trauma and grief. i don’t think allison is a villain, and i think that accusing her of solely caring about herself is unfair.

Okay so i have NEVER (and i mean NEVER) watched TUA, but my wonderful and amazing friend @aroacebooknerd is a huge fan and quite genuinely 99.9% of what they’ve posted recently has been reblogs of people who are angry about the S4 ending and the character assassination of Five
so here’s basically what I know about season four (and TUA in general):
TUA fans: Oh boy! I can’t wait for the season 4 finale, we’re finally gonna get closure! I’m hoping all the characters will finally be happy and something with marigolds will happen! TUA director (i think): uhm actually no we’re going to give this practically cannon aroace character a love interest and make him a homewrecker! That’s what you guys wanted right? TUA fans: *unintelligible screeching and angry noises*
So heres what i know:
Marigolds?? Those are important for the ending for some reason
a man named Klaus who sets off my gaydar and smth abt him being a stripper? (He’s like my queen Dan wildes, pop off king)
Five (I I still don’t know why he’s named after a number?) is somehow like 75 but also 18
This woman named..uh I forget, but her actors name is Rita I think and apparently she’s like 34 and agreed to cheat on her loving husband (who’s five’s brother) with five. this is so potent with the stench of pedophilia. this is so not okay. you can’t just be like “oh but he’s 18 so he’s legal so it’s okay!” Like NO SIR THATS NOT OKAY
apparently they waited for fives actor to be like 18 before they forced him to kiss Rita or wtv??? like…that is illegal sir? or if it’s not it should be?? Wtf??
I saw a picture of the kiss that happened between them and I started genuinely BURSTING OUT LAUGHING. and not in the “haha that’s hilarious!” Way but in the “HAHA OMFG THIS IS SO NOT FUNNY AND STUPID” way. Like. that kiss looked so uncomfortable. you can TELL that five’s actor is uncomfortable. wtf guys.
the trans guys voice got deeper!! that’s so good for him!! we love seeing representation of trans people and their journeys through transitioning (or not if they don’t choose to, but the emotional journey they partake in)!!
we’re sad abt a woman named Sloan for some reason
S1 Allison and Luther (I have no idea who they are) was uncomfortable
one of the main guys has like a kill count of the entire population of the fucking planet. Apparently his powers are like..out of control and he killed everyone?? …how….i have so many questions and i know that none will be answered
theres like five main characters and they are all apparently siblings. So i guess SOMEONE was getting dicked down good
SOMETHING ABOUT SOMEONE WITH A MONKEY BODY
theres a guy that’s a ghost..i think his power was like Painful As Fuck™️
I think there was a kraken involved at some point?
It’s giving found-family aftg vibes but also not ( nothing could ever compare to my beloved aftg)
i tHink they’re all like assassins?
There’s something about their being normal versions of them, and then Sparrow versions on them? What?
something about a mannequin and how Five really likes said mannequin
fives character was assassinated bc he would always choose his family over himself and that’s not what he did in the finale
they all end up dying in the end, no closure is given, everyone is angry, Obama has packed up his stuff and is NOT there
Yea, thats pretty much all I know
Which is..not much
I am still VERY confused the more i look at this list
Feel free to reblog this or whatever to just rage about the season 4 finale bc from what I understand it was SHIT
I was considering watching the show before but like..do i even want to at this point?
I don’t wanna fall in love with the show knowing that THIS SHIT is gonna happen
I deeply empathize with all the TUA fans. I feel so bad for y’all 😭

The Umbrella Academy S4
If you haven't completed season 4 please don't read any further
This is my complete rant- I just ughhh ohkay
So the ending huh I don't even know what to say. I don't know what that was. Was it just me or did someone else also presume that Viktor would be the one dying?? Why did all of them die? It seems so rushed. Just 5 minutes between Five realizing what's gonna happen and what they need to do and then just bam it's over i'm sorry what the fuck- I had so much hope and thrill and passion going into this season all doomed.
Don't even get me started on the Five and Lila thing. hey stevie when some of the people said they'd like to see a number five romantic subplot...... THIS IS NOT WHAT THE MEANT!?!? You're tryna tell me Five "survived 45 years in an apocalypse killed hundreds and thousands of people and the board of directors of a deadly commission just to get back to his family and keep them safe" Hargreeves the Five Hargreeves who had many a year and opportunity to find himself a woman after joining the commission but stayed loyal to a fucking mannequin fell in love with his brother's wife after 7 years of being stuck with her? SPECIALLY after he specially told Diego that Lila wouldn't throw all that away he fell in love with her and was heartbroken when she didn't throw that away????? What of the frenemy dynamic? What of the 'you killed my parents in cold blood' part of that equation? All gone cause of what? I see no point or use of that in the already fucked storyline? I don't even know what to say.
Luther had NO character this season. He's just a big soft bag of fluff I mean i don't hate that not at all but like... and his powers were just reduced to what... accidentally breaking an alarm clock and jumping of a stage into a crowd of women? yay i guess. And WHERE WAS SLOANE? WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?
Klaus oh my poor heart- a germaphobe. Really a germaphobe? Of all the things he could've been. When the grave scene happened where they were shooting outside and he covered his ears I got so excited like yes yes Vietnam Klaus... I mean yeah he's traumatized but I thought they'd work with that even just a little bit but no. None of that just terrified of ghosts druggie Klaus.
Allison Hargreeves - I have a vent about her already posted. And there it seems I hate her and maybe a little yeah but that means there was like a pacific load of area they could've worked with but no? none of that. She is just back to normal a little scared but that's all. "Since Ray walked out!" THAT"S ALL WE GET FROM RAYMOND CHESTNUT!? What why how when under what conditions??????????? Nothing?? Huff man. I know this is too much for one season and I know they couldn't have included everything in one season but they had such a great show. Such a brilliant show. Season 3 was a very apt ending. It was perfect to be very honest, this is just uncalled for. All the characters are so not who we as viewers were shown for 3 seasons which is why I feel it feels more like a disappointment. Yeah without their powers they'd be different, but they're just not them anymore.... Anyway I should probably sleep.
Tell me what you think of all this :)

An Update!
Here is the latest chapter for my Five x Lila fic, "Much Longer Than Six Years, Five Months, and Two Days."
A Preview:
Do international calls cost anything?
Deciding she didn’t care; Lila began to reach for the phone. She figured Five could afford the charges.
She felt more than heard when Five leaned over to look at some of the files she’d already gone through. She found herself breathing in the aroma of his cologne, something subtle that couldn’t be smelt unless you were very close to him. She liked it and always wondered what it was.
He snorted softly, his eyes crinkling as his smile widened. “This reminds me of when we were looking for your parents,” he murmured, flipping through a few pages, ready to dive in despite already working.
Lila smiled fondly.
That had been the second time they had decided to work together.
They’d bonded over long nights spent looking over phone books and making calls, drinking bad coffee and bickering. They hadn't even been looking for her parents specifically—just anyone left over from the old universe. Lila had been the only one willing to help—Allison had gotten what she wanted. Everyone else had given up and decided to just move on.
Everyone but Luther.
Luther had been frantic with worry for his missing wife and Five decided that the best way to help was to look for her himself.
Five had always been better at actions rather than words.
The three of them had worked around the clock.
But as leads grew increasingly fewer, Luther had begun to lose hope.
He'd since been devoted to fixing up the abandoned Hargreeves mansion. Desperate for something to take his mind off of Sloane.
Five had never given up.
He’d never given up on anything before—it was unlikely he ever would.
Lila turned responding to Five’s comment, “Yeah—me doing all the grunt work!” she teased grinning.
“I’ll have you know, I never asked you to make all the phone calls—”
“I always have to! You always end up pissing people off!”
“I do not!”
“Do too! Remember that one time you were on the horn with The Yard in London, and you ended up in a row with that one constable—what was his name? The one that sounded like John Cleese?”
“Constable Laurie and we were not in a ‘row’—we were just in a disagreement—”
“A disagreement where he called you a ‘nasty little weasel?’”
“He was the asshole that was making things difficult!” he argued.
“I believe, in his words, ‘a bossy little nobody from the states,’ was the one being difficult,” she smiled. “In his defense, for an intern, you were being very short with him at the time.”
“I can't help most people being ignoramuses,” he declared loftily, a smile still tugging at the corners of his lips.
“Not everyone can get along as swimmingly with you as I do,” she smirked.
He suddenly froze as if something had just occurred to him. He glanced down at his watch and winced.
“Shit, speaking of which…” he muttered.
“What?”
“I’m sorry, Lila. I’d love to go over this like old times but—”
“But, what?” she questioned. “Got somewhere you've got to be?”
“Actually, I do,” he shrugged helplessly. She noted the way he started rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably. He looked oddly guilty.
“What’s this? Got a hot date?” she teased.
Five’s expression grew pained, and Lila felt her smile slip off her face.
His silence was deafening.

for ur playlist ask game thing i got 2, if that's cool: come sail away on luther's playlist & a boy named sue on diego's playlist (:
of course it's cool :) if i ever turn down a yap session about music and the umbrella academy, i don't want to know that day
okay! so first
Come Sail Away - Styx
listen here!
okay i'm just gonna write as i listen first and then edit this down okay so first off the song is by styx which is interesting because an in show 'klaus song' is renegade, also by styx, which i think gives a nice parallel to how luther wishes he could be like klaus (so carefree lol)
and also, just the space-vibes of course. its a song about space travel and aliens that look like angels. luther vibes amiright
but lyrically, it's very luther, very hopeful (very demure). i think that is something so interesting about luther, for all his gruffness. he is incredibly earnest and full of hope for a long, long time, it really only crashes down when he learns Reginald didn't open anything he sent him from the moon.
i think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
we lived happily forever, so the story goes,
but somehow we missed out, on our pot of gold,
but we'll try, best as we can to carry on
do i even need to say anything-- if that ain't luther's pre-apocalypse mantra, i don't know what is. the idea that the Umbrella Academy wasn't a farce is something he holds onto for so long. that maybe his siblings were just jaded to the point they couldn't see the promise, the potienial. that it wasn't all fruitless abuse.
AND THE BEAT DROPS
we all know Luther loves a good groove and if Come Sail Away is not a good groove, i don't want to talk to you.
i thought that there were angels, come to my surprise,
we climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies!
this also just strikes me as a luther line too, his love and joy of space, the way i can picture him looking up at sloane with such affection because she's like his awesome floating space angel
I can also just picture little luther absolutely breaking it down in his bedroom to this like he puts on the record while he's studying or whateve but then as it picks up he's just crab dancin' all round that joint.
additional viewing: this scene from Freaks and Geeks (great show, with great writing and an amazing soundtrack--shows like this are why s1 of TUA make my brain sing) if Luther didn't know the song beforehand, i feel like this is something that could very well happen to him. wants to use his one promised dance with his crush on a slow dance, but then it ends up being a synthy rock disco banger.
damn that got long lol I think I will do Boy Named Sue as its own post so people aren't stuck scrolling forever and ever
hope that was vaguely coherent! thank you so much for the ask :)
Send me an ask about a song from my playlists for the characters of the Umbrella Academy!

Chapter 16: A Dream Come True
Tumblr media
“Dearly beloved.”
Klaus stood below a beautifully decorated arch just outside the banquet hall, where the ceremony was taking place. There was already a red carpet rolled out to the arch and once everyone was in their places, (Y/N) had walked the beaming Sloane down the aisle to her fiance. It was such a magical moment. She now stood behind the bride and was holding her flowers with Viktor standing behind Luther as his best man.
“We’re gathered here today for a good time, not a long time, so let’s have a good time, huh? ‘Cause the sun can’t shine every day. Can I get an amen?”
The crowd along with the bride and groom erupted into “amens” and cheers and whistles in response.
“Luther,” Klaus started once they all calmed down. “Do you be taking this banging hottie to be your lady?”
Luther lovingly smiled at her. “I do.”
“Sloane,” Klaus tearfully sighed. “Do you promise to love and cherish this big hairy bastard for the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours?”
“Give or take a day.” Five called out, getting lovingly shushed by Klaus. Sloane grinned at Luther, her tears hardly contained.
“I’m gonna try.”
“Well, then… I’m sorry.” Klaus wiped at his eyes for a second before throwing his hands up in the air. “I pronounce you married as shit! Viva la apocalypse!”
Sloane threw herself at Luther, pulling him into a loving kiss. Luther wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer as everyone cheered and clapped. (Y/N) grinned as she carefully clapped with the flowers in her hands, her heart unbelievably warm for them. Never in her life had she imagined her family like this, all together, for Luther’s wedding. It was something they probably wouldn’t have believed if told two timelines ago.
The party moved back indoors, where the newlyweds began their first dance as the rest watched them with so much love in their eyes. Klaus was the most enthusiastic out of all, moving to the music as he cheesed at them. Luther and Sloane looked at their family with sweet smiles before returning to their dance as the fog machines hissed out their white clouds. The colors from the party lights and the disco ball danced across the room, giving the room a soft, yet spirited look.
“This is officially worse than the apocalypse.” Five muttered and looked around before his eyes landed on the spread of food and drinks. “Ah, there we are.”
He began to walk away, but (Y/N) grabbed him by the hand and pulled him back to her, a sly smile on her face. She cocked her head to the dance floor, where Diego and Lila had already joined. “Come on, bub. This can be like our wedding dance.” She whispered, and Five couldn’t argue with that. So, after setting his drink down, he followed his love onto the floor. Even Klaus joined, dancing with himself to the beautiful music.
Five and (Y/N) felt like they were actually thirteen again as they danced. Their hands clasped while her other sat on his shoulder and his other wrapped securely around her waist. In this very moment, if the Kugelblitz had sucked them up and signalled the end of its reign of terror on the cosmos, Five wholeheartedly believed he would die a happy man. The place he found himself, with his family, with his wife in his arms, was a place he finally felt somewhat content in. It was most likely the best place he could be in right now, all things considered. He hoped (Y/N) felt the same.
“Do you wish our wedding was like this?” He quietly asked. (Y/N) lifted her head from his chest and softly smiled at him, the light dazzling in her eyes.
“No.” She whispered. “I already had this and I almost threw up about three or four times. What we had was perfect.”
“In front of the Ball of Twine?”
“I was standing in front of you,” She nuzzled her nose with his. “That’s more than perfect.”
With a grin, Five touched his forehead to hers, swaying to the music in complete bliss.
Once everyone was tuckered out from dancing, they moved to the tables to replenish their stamina by indulging in the food spread. (Y/N) had sat herself down at her shared table with Five, a plate in one hand and a drink in another, when she saw Chet taking a photo of Luther and Sloane. She softly smiled at them before realizing that no one had given any speeches. She turned to Five just as he walked up to the table with two more glasses of alcohol to add to the collection on the table. “I’ll be right back, okay?”
He nodded and watched her leave the table and go up to the DJ booth, grabbing the microphone and standing at the edge of the dancefloor. “Can I have everyone’s attention, please?”
Her family paused their conversations to look up at her with curious gazes.
“Uh… as Sloane’s maid of honor, I’d like to give a speech before I’m absolutely shit-faced for the night.” She pulled a few chuckles. “Luther… I know you and I have never been the best of friends and I’m glad that’s changed. If I’ve learned anything from experiencing a countdown to my death for a third time now, it would be that I need to love who is true to me, then to cherish who I love. And I love you, Luther. I wish I said it more, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. It is, and… it’s been a blast being your sister.”
It all started to sink in that this may be the last time she would see her family. She didn’t know if that caused her eyes to water, or the sight of Luther wiping away his tears. Perhaps both.
“Sloane, though the first time we met, you tried to kill me, I can’t say it’s nothing that hasn’t happened before. I’m so happy that our best moments were within an hour, inside a weird-ass hotel room, sipping on wine and listening to jazz as everything around us got sucked into a black hole. Because I learned that my new family member is one I’m proud to call my sister. Luther, this one’s a keeper,” She winked, earning some more chuckles. “Sloane… I can safely say that you are in good hands with my brother. And your (Y/N)’s smiling down at you right now. I know it.”
Sloane fanned her eyes to keep her tears at bay as she grinned at (Y/N).
“Congratulations, you two.” She lifted her glass, everyone else doing the same and cheering for her as she returned the mic and went to the newlyweds to exchange hugs and kisses.
Having the perfect opportunity, Klaus danced his way over to Five and pointed at him. “Cinco! Mi hermano.” He greeted his disgruntled brother and sat beside him. “Listen to me, Dad is upstairs right now with a plan to save everything. So, what say you and I pop up to the suite for a little chitchat?”
“What, are you like Frick and Frack with the old man now?” Five frowned at him.
“This dad’s different. He’s a turtle. Hard on the outside, but all cute and wrinkly and occasionally delicious on the inside.”
Five swallowed the liquor in his mouth and looked up at his brother. “Klaus?”
“Yeah?”
“Old dogs like me and him never change. He has never had our best interests at heart. And you’re lucky (Y/N) isn’t over here right now or else she’d rip you a new one. This is the happiest she’s been in the last few hours. So!” He dropped his shot glass into a bigger glass, both fizzing up and spilling over a bit. “My only plan for tonight is to get fucked up beyond all recognition, and then enjoy my possible last time having sex with my wife.”
Klaus groaned. “Sure.” He clinked his glass with Five’s. “Have at it.”
“I shall!”
(Y/N) returned to the table just as Klaus twisted in his seat to get a look around the room, eyes landing on Diego, who was happily munching on his food. Lila was about to sit down with her own food when she noticed Klaus’s calculating stare. Before he could even stand, she placed her food down and went up to him, pushing him back down in his chair.
“Klaus.” She pulled a chair up to him and sat down. “Don’t even think about going over there and filling his empty head with bad ideas.”
He looked at her in feigned offense. “Moi? How dare-” His facade fell when Lila pressed a fork into his chest, right over his heart.
“You may be unkillable, but I’ll find a way to make sure that your time on this earthly plane is chock-full of pain and suffering. Got it?”
“Yeah. Sure.”
“Great. Big smile.” She turned him forward and posed, Chet taking a picture of them, the bright flash affecting both him and Five. Lila gave him a kiss and walked away. “Bye.”
Klaus groaned and blinked his eyes to rid himself of the spots in his vision. He turned and set his sights on his next victim: Luther. He stood up and stumbled away from the table.
Meanwhile, Five was happily feeding his wife shrimp from hand to mouth and then allowing her to hold his glass while he drank from it. It was something neither of them had thought of when they started doing it, but it was enough to make all the singles in the room sick with the two’s PDA. Her lopsided grin faltered when Five bit off a piece of pineapple from her kabob she was holding.
“Oh…” She mumbled as he munched on it. “You ate my fruit, Five…”
He lifted his head and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “What’s yours is mine, baby.”
“Hey, guys.” Viktor greeted and joined their table with a plate of food for himself. (Y/N) turned to her brother with a regained smile.
“Enjoying the party, Viktor?”
“It’s nice, yeah.” He nodded, looking around the room with a thoughtful smile. “It’s good to see Luther finally find someone and settle. What about you guys?”
When he turned back to them, Five had slammed his empty glass on the table a millisecond before (Y/N) did. “Sucker.”
“Best out of three.”
Viktor chuckled at the two as they started another drinking contest. As he watched them, Klaus greeted the bride and groom at their table. “Mazel tov to the Mr and Mrs.”
“Hey, brother!”
“Cheers!”
They happily clinked their glasses with him before he crouched between their chairs to talk to Luther. “Now, about Dad.”
“No, no, no, no.”
“No-”
“The answer’s no, Klaus.”
“Baby, baby, he’s a changed man.”
“No, the man is incapable of change.”
“Lulu, he’s different. You know, he helped me to conquer my childhood fears.”
Luther hummed as he continued to eat.
“We played catch together.”
“Whoa, wait,” He frowned. “You played catch with Dad?”
“Yeah, we call it bus-ball, but that’s kind of our thing. I mean, you could find your own thing with him.”
Luther groaned in irritation. “Would you stop? Listen, you’re being duped.”
Klaus chuckled. “No, I’m not being duped-”
“No, you are. You are.”
“Come on!”
“In fact, worse. You’re being enabled by your own father.”
“Yeah, but I really think if you just give him a little chance-”
“Klaus!!!”
His exclamation echoed throughout the room, everyone flinching at his volume. Klaus, in particular, covered his ears and shrunk in his place. Sloane reached over and placed a hand on her husband’s knee. “Babe, it’s fine.” She whispered. “It’s our wedding.”
Klaus whimpered as Luther nodded. “You’re right. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He reached over and brought his brother into a crushing hug, kissing his forehead. “Listen, I’m just trying to enjoy my wedding, okay? And you should, too.”
“Okay.”
“Go have some salmon and a Jell-O cup.”
“That sounds nice. Alright, well.” Klaus stood and began walking away. “Screw it, I tried.”
The atmosphere of the party shifted immensely when the elevator dinged. The doors parted to drop off Reginald, whose presence shocked the party members in the least pleasant of ways. Everyone’s eyes watched as he awkwardly walked around, all except for (Y/N), who kept her tipsy gaze fixed on the tablecloth in front of her. Five gently intertwined their fingers and squeezed her hand as Reginald busied himself at the food spread.
“It’s okay, Starlight.”
“No, it isn’t.” She shook her head. “Why is he here? He can’t just show up to a wedding he’s not invited to. Especially not one he was uninvited from.”
“I think…” He reached for the bottle and began to pour more alcohol into her glass. “I think you need another drink.”
(Y/N) nodded in thanks and took a hearty gulp of her drink, pressing a hand to her chest as she suppressed a belch. Her eyes traveled over to Reginald, who was currently finding a place to sit and eat. No one was welcoming in the slightest, all glaring at him whenever he looked their way. For a moment, he locked eyes with (Y/N), but her stare was deadly and it threatened his life, so he took a seat at an empty table and began to eat.
From his table, Klaus caught his father’s attention and wordlessly encouraged him to try a smile. Reginald’s look of shock melted into an odd and forced smile as he looked about the room. Though, he didn’t receive any of the reactions he hoped for. Everyone was either looking at him in horror or disgust, for none of them had ever seen their father smile. Before the agonizing moment could drag on any longer, Reginald flinched in his seat at a bright flash, Chet grinning with a camera in his hands.
At that, (Y/N) rolled her eyes and turned back around, chugging the rest of her drink and then taking Five’s and draining that as well. “Okay,” He sighed and filled both the glasses again. “Guess those are yours now.”
“What’s yours is mine.”
Ben was left alone after Allison departed from their shared table, previously sulking with her during such a high-spirited event. As he buried his head into the table, Klaus came over and sat with him. “Hey, Ben-ihana. Don’t hit me!” He chuckled, pretending to flinch before dropping the theatrics. “Hey, listen. I know we ain’t exactly been best buds in this timeline or whatever, but man, do I have a mission for you-”
A loud and nauseating belch erupted from Ben’s mouth, causing Klaus to cringe and fan the stink away. “Ugh… Charming.”
“Eleven people.” Ben drunkenly slurred, picking up a piece of shrimp.
“Huh?”
“There are only eleven people left.”
“Okay. Drunk Ben clearly likes numbers and… shrimp.”
“And you couldn’t even invite me to your stupid bachelor party…”
Klaus looked up at Ben’s dejected face, his brows twisted in a sadness he thought was incapable of him. “Oh… Have we finally flicked off bad Benny’s hard candy shell?” He cooed as he rubbed his back.
“Why don’t you like me?” Ben whined.
“Because you’re a huge puckering asshole.”
“Okay, but you like the other Ben.”
“Yeah, we love the other Ben.”
“Why? What was so special about him?”
“Because he was a know-it-all. He was a scold.” Klaus’s face lit up in recognition. “He was a tiny dark cloud on a perfect sunny day…”
At his heartfelt laugh, Ben frowned in confusion. “Those… Those are all bad things.”
“Yeah, but they looked great on him.”
“Okay, you know what? I am so much better than that other Ben.”
“Mmhm?”
“I was Number One. Twice. Does Dad give a shit? No. He was busy hanging out with you.”
Klaus pouted and leaned closer. “Oh, man, methinks you might be trying a little too hard. Look around. Nobody’s polishing their boots or pressing their tights. We’re a complete and total shit show. Ya get it? A-And our Ben, my Ben, was just that kinda disaster…” He leaned even closer as he lowered his voice in adoration for his deceased brother. “...and it made him ridiculously easy to love.”
Ben didn’t respond, for he was too far away to form any words. All he had to do was to simply not try. After all, it was one of his favorite things about his sister. (Y/N) had been unapologetically herself. No matter how many times they silenced her, no matter how many times they casted her aside. She was so loveable because she was such an amazing person, and she never tried to hide it.
Perhaps that was why Reginald thought so highly of her, even when she failed so tremendously. Ben felt a pat on his shoulder and Klaus was gone, unknowingly leaving him to mourn his sister.
Just as Viktor left the table to speak with Allison, the clinking of silverware against glass could be heard. Everyone’s attention turned to Reginald, who was standing with the mic in one hand and a glass in the other. “I know it is customary for the father of the bride to make a speech…”
Off to the side, Viktor nervously approached Allison. “Hey.”
As soon as she saw him, she sighed and turned back around. “I’m not in the mood.”
“Allison-”
“No, I get it.” She turned back to him. “It’s a wedding. Everybody’s drunk, and we’re all supposed to be chummy. But I’m not feeling it.”
“That’s fine. You don’t have to be in a festive mood. But will you please just hear me out?”
Their conversation was drowned out by Reginald’s voice sounding throughout the entire room. He lifted the mic to his lips and looked at the bride as he cleared his throat, the feedback whining a bit. “Sloane, ever since you were a little girl, I’ve always known you were exceptionally bright. And though, I can’t say I know Luther all that well, from the few moments we have shared, it seems you found yourself an adequate partner.”
A few hushed reactions sounded, most in confusion, before he continued. This time, though, he looked to (Y/N), who was scowling at him in her seat, her eyes heavy with alcohol. “I acknowledge that, as a father, I was not without my faults. I hope these shortcomings will be seen as only a rough patch on an otherwise verdant lawn.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes and grabbed the whole bottle of alcohol, taking a large swig of it. Away from them, Viktor and Allison were still having their attempt at reconciliation.
“Look, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I lied, and… I betrayed your trust.” He softly spoke as tears glossed his eyes. “But you’re… more important to me than anything in this entire world. Will you forgive me?”
For a second, Viktor had hope in his relationship with his sister. Her eyes widened just a fraction and her nose flared as her face softened. Only for a moment. Within the next moment, she blinked and her cold and standoffish nature returned.
“No. I don’t think I will.”
A small smile made its way onto Reginald’s face. “I’m proud to call you my children. Even those whom I raised in a revenant version of myself. I hope that tonight, we can create a few special memories in whatever precious little time we have left.”
Viktor’s crestfallen expression mustered up a bit of courage to continue talking. “If you won’t forgive me, just know I forgive you.”
“For what?” Allison tilted her head. “I didn’t do anything wrong. You know, I’m… really tired of being the asshole that has to meet you halfway. I am tired of being a sucker.”
“You’re the sucker?”
“Our whole lives, all you said you ever wanted was for us to be close, and we finally got there, and you fucked it up. Not me.”
Viktor swallowed. “Is this really how you wanna end things?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll sleep fine tonight.”
With that, Allison walked past her brother and towards the elevator. As she did, everyone watched her in confusion, but they all figured what happened. Reginald trailed off his speech for a second before focusing again and reciting a poem.
“The sun rises over a lily’s field.
A mother veiled, her lips concealed.
The mourners come in droves of black
to bury what their hearts unpack.
With shallow breath and time eclipsed,
I pray you miss death’s gentle kiss.”
(Y/N)’s eyes moved away from Allison, who glared as the elevator closed in front of her, to Viktor, who pinched the bridge of his nose as his shoulders trembled. She ignored the applause Reginald received from Klaus, Diego and Lila, her heart broken for her brother and for her sister. Speech concluded, he bowed and took his leave for the night.
“I didn’t think the old man had it in him.” Five muttered.
“One of our biggest flaws as a family is underestimating the capabilities of our father…” She whispered, chugging her glasses down.
From the DJ booth, Chet nervously tried to revive the party. “Alright, alright. Time to turn those frowns upside down! This one is for all the party people in the place.”
The upbeat music that played through the speakers was just enough to get everyone out of their seats and back onto the dancefloor. (Y/N) made sure to get a good, long drink in before hopping from her seat and pulling Five with her onto the floor. Viktor watched them for a moment, but then he sniffled and wiped the tears from his face before joining his family.
Despite Reginald the Party Crasher and Allison blowing up at Viktor, the family still danced their hearts out with each other. For them, it was the least they deserved. Years of childhood trauma that carried to adulthood, then the constant threat of their impending doom, resulting in them being the only people left to celebrate the growing of their family…
Of course, they would be laying it all out.
Even with her spinning head, (Y/N) was so unbelievably happy to be there. The sight of Five wildly dancing with a bottle of alcohol in his hand was something she never thought she’d see, but it was certainly something she welcomed. She laughed aloud as she twisted and jumped and spun to the beat of the music, occasionally pulling people to dance with her. She even danced with Ben, and at some point, Diego was giving her a piggyback ride around the dancefloor.
Eventually, the dancing began to wind down into a slower tempo. Luther and Sloane held each other close as they danced, Diego and Lila sat together near the DJ booth, Klaus and Ben were off getting wasted together, Viktor sat beside himself to eat some more and Five stood on the dancefloor, dreamily watching as (Y/N) sang along to a love song into the microphone.
“Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.”
The girl could barely hold herself up, but she still put on a show. Her eyes were gently closed as she focused on how the lyrics and melody of the song went, but everything was so fuzzy. Still, she was in a very pleased mood.
“Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.”
Her eyes opened and immediately found Five, who sloppily grinned and waved at her, just as drunk as her. She returned the smile and continued with the song.
“On the day that you were born the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true.
So, they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And star light in your eyes of blue.”
(Y/N) leaned her head back during the small pause, stumbling back a bit when she lost her balance, but composed herself and went back to the mic.
“That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around.
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.”
The song broke out into a short instrumental break, during which (Y/N) let go of the microphone and danced with herself. Since her eyes were closed, she failed to notice Five drunkenly doing the same. When the music signalled for her to come back in, she grabbed hold of the mic stand and sang the repeat with more passion than before.
“On the day that you were born the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true.
So, they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And star light in your eyes of blue.”
Snapping her eyes open, she pointed straight at Five as she swayed her hips.
“That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around.
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.”
Completely enamored, Five made his way up to her and hopped onto the platform, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close as she seemingly finished the song.
“Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.”
She smiled at him as he leaned forward, peppering kisses to her cheek, moving his lips to her ear. “(Y/N)... I love-”
“WAH-AH-AH-AH-AH!
Close to you!”
(Y/N) interrupted him to sing her favorite part of the song as loud as she could, Five lovingly smiling at her as he held her steady. She began to repeat it, but he silenced her by pressing his lips to hers in a very uncoordinated kiss. Immediately, she was thrown off and wrapped her arms around his neck to keep herself from falling.
Sloane lifted her head from Luther’s shoulder to look up at him. “So, just to recap this night… Ben, Five and (Y/N) are blotto drunk.”
They broke out into chuckles.
“And Viktor and Allison almost punched each other out.”
“Oh… Yeah.”
“Yeah… And Dad recited a weirdly moving death poem.”
Luther scrunched his face up as he hummed. “You know, that’s not bad for a Hargreeves family wedding at the end of the world.”
She softly smiled at him. “You know, I didn’t need a big to-do. This is all I needed.”
He gently kissed her and held her tighter as she rested her head on his shoulder. This was all he needed, too.
-------------------------------------------------
“Oh, guys! Come on!”
“Freaky little turds.”
Five and (Y/N) pulled away from each other when they heard Diego and Lila shout at them. They were just about to enjoy a peaceful time outside where the ceremony had taken place, but they found themselves bombarding a very intimate moment between the two teens. Five groaned and adjusted his wife’s dress so that it was properly back in place and moved to sit beside her, (Y/N) quietly and sweetly apologizing to them.
Diego shook his head at them and pulled Lila with him to the seating area built with stones. (Y/N) moved her empty heels out of the way so Diego could sit down, Lila following suit and resting her head in his lap. Surprisingly, those two were the least drunk of the party, Diego being careful with his liquor and Lila having not a drop. With a hazy mind, (Y/N) noted that as well.
“Is this where the party is now?” Viktor asked as he walked outside.
“Welcome, Viktor.” She grinned at her brother, who chuckled in amusement and sat at the top row of stones.
Luther and Sloane were the next to walk outside, staring up at the orange glow of the Kugelblitz above them. They made their way up to the rest and took their seats. “Hey, guys.” Luther greeted with a grin. He turned to Viktor and leaned close. “Hey, uh… I saw. And I… I appreciate you trying.”
Viktor looked down for a moment as his argument with Allison flashed through his mind, but when he concluded that he did all he could, he nodded to Luther in thanks. A commotion started when Klaus and Ben stumbled outside, approaching the group with alcohol and cigarettes.
“Oh, no, no, no, no!”
“Hey, what?”
“Klaus, why are you bringing Ben here?”
“Come on!”
Klaus quieted Five and Diego’s complaining by holding a hand out. “Guys, hear me out before-”
“Hear him out.” Ben repeated, placing the cigarette between his lips.
“The brother that you all knew as Ben is gone. And not- I don’t mean our Ben, the nice Ben. I mean this Ben. The asshole, he’s gone now.”
“Gone.” Ben whispered after gulping down some liquor.
Luther shook his head at them. “Klaus, what are you talking about?”
Klaus continued on as Ben animatedly nodded and pointed. “And the man that stands in front of you is new new Ben, and he’s one of us, and he’s a member of the team. And he’s part-”
“...part of the family!” The two of them exclaimed in unison. They broke out into drunken giggles as Five wiped his mouth.
“And as a welcome gift, I suggest we throw him off the roof.”
“Yeah, I’ll help.” Diego agreed.
“Come on!” Klaus playfully groaned.
Luther smiled and waved his two brothers off, pointing at Ben. “Hey, you know what? You know what? He can stay. He can stay.”
“Why?” Diego frowned.
“‘Cause it’s my wedding day, man. Come on. He can stay.”
Klaus and Ben quietly cheered and joined the family on the stones, quietly thanking Luther as they did. Once everyone was seated, their gazes moved up to the sky, where dark clouds painted across the bright orange canvas. It had slowed its course down, the lifeform that was left taking longer to get sucked into its end.
It was sort of peaceful, the way they all admired it. At any second, they could die with everything and everyone else in all of space and time. They found themselves so very lucky to be here now.
“Hey, you wanna know something?” Luther gently spoke with a smile. “Tonight is all I ever really wanted.”
“To get hitched?”
“Just… everybody coming together when it really matters. One big real family.”
Luther reached down and kissed Sloane’s hand, Ben and Klaus cuddled up along with Diego and Lila. (Y/N) wrapped her arms around Five and snuggled into his side, burying her face into his neck as he continued to drink. He wanted the moment to remain much longer, he really did, but his stomach swirled and groaned. He coughed and fled from her arms, hurrying a few paces from everyone as he gagged. Everyone exclaimed when they heard the grotesque sounds he made.
“Oh, I think I’m gonna hurl…” He murmured as they giggled. “Actually, uh, I think I’m hungry… See ya, guys. I’m gonna hit the buffet.”
“Me, too! Wait for me, bub!” (Y/N) stood and followed him back inside. Before she was gone, she turned to her family, blowing a kiss to them. “Goodnight! Thank you for having us! Congrats to the groom and bride!”
“Night, (Y/N).” Sloane smiled before the girl scampered off back inside. She leaned her head back to look at Luther. “Does she always get that drunk?”
Luther frowned and shook his head. “God, no.”
“Maybe we should call it a night.” Lila rose from her spot.
“Come on, it’s early.” Luther whined.
“Goodnight, guys.”
Ben watched her and Diego leave with a grin. “Where are we going? To bed?” He chuckled as he stood and began walking away.
“Who’s this guy?” Luther jokingly pointed at him with a chuckle.
“Ben.” Klaus sighed and ran to catch up with him. “Where’s he going? Where’s he going? This isn’t the end. Come on, who’s up for some more…”
“Scrabble?” Ben suggested.
“...karaoke… Yeah!”
Viktor smiled at the drunken conversation between the retreating pair and let out a heavy sigh. “That’s my cue.” He chuckled and stood, making his way back inside after bidding the night’s farewells.
-------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) tried to stifle her giggles as she and Five staggered down the halls of the hotel, Five gripping a metal bowl full of food in his hand. She had almost dropped the bottle in her hand when her face smacked into the wall, but she steadied herself and followed after Five. He slammed his hand into a wall to keep himself from falling, but his halt caused her to crash into him, the two falling to the ground. Food and booze forgotten, Five rolled over and hovered over (Y/N), bringing her into a messy kiss. She hummed and kissed back as she ran her hands through his hair.
“With everything we’ve discussed, it’d be folly to wait.”
At the sound of Reginald’s voice, Five pulled away from his wife and staggered to his feet. The door to the White Buffalo Suite was cracked open, the boy only able to see his father in the room without opening the door any further. Reginald was facing someone who was blocked by the door.
“There is no time. I can’t do this without you. Do we have a deal?”
Reginald reached out and shook hands with whoever he was talking to. Before Five could burst in and get to the bottom of this, (Y/N) had found her way back to her feet and grabbed him by his tie, pulling him with her into the open elevator.
“Come on, bub. Let’s take this party to our room.”
Five’s eyes stayed trained on the door of Reginald’s room as (Y/N) pressed the button to their floor, dancing in place as the doors closed them off from whatever secret interaction had just occurred.

Ok, tua s4, ep3, let's goooo.
This time it's not exactly while watching cause I realised I can't focus too well on the ep while also writing down stuff. Might not be following the ep completely accurately and also might miss some things.
Spoilers, obv.
-Thought the name of the ep referred to Ben and Jennifer. I guess it does. Tho, there's an actual squid there. What?
-Oh, and Jennifer is the girl, after all. So, is she one of the special kids? Is she special in another way??
-Since when is Luther so good at distinguishing goats and sheep and llamas?!
-Ouch. That argument between Klaus and Allison. He's right for himself. But I totally agree with her, we can't have him die.
-Him telling them all what their problem is, lol.
-And kinda thinking Lila is normal. Tbh, fair.
-But anyway, we get to see some very different and kinda dark Klaus here. Not sure if I like it. But I love how he's always saying the right things, usually others don't take him seriously.
-Well, you kinda are the villain of this family, Allison.
-Also, oh, so Ray did walk away?
-Them always having to turn to their father in the end. *sigh* Well, it is largely his fault.
-Ok, so I was maybe wrong, they do have some newish powers (I believe all of them, although we saw only some) but not necessarily some powers the other kids did.
-And again, I was kinda wrong. Their powers aren't exactly failing them. Only Five's.
-Now I'm actually thinking and hey! Wasn't Ben on a sub train in the end of s3? Could it be the same one Five ends up in?!
-Oooh, apocalypse timeline!
-Other Five trying to shoot this Five and Lila 💀💀💀
-Five's different versions trying to kill each other altogether....
-Oh. It was actually an alpaca 🦙🦙 They do smell.
-Kinda almost immediately knew that date would be the day Ben died. But it's not the right year?
-Okay, so they don't actually remember Jennifer and what happened to Ben.
-That thing with Klaus and Claire made me sad. 😞😞😞
-Also, Klaus is really getting into some troubles again.
-Wait. That's supposedly 6 years into the future? But Allison hasn't spoken to their father in five??
-I kinda like Reginald's wife?
-Could be just a mask, though.
-Oh, ok, now I can see why Victor wouldn't play the violin. Thoo, I was hoping for him to.
-Ok, Klaus is really in big troubles....
-Wow. Ben walking on these tentacles....
-Ehh. I expected some dance sequence but not from Gene and Jean. Kinda mad.
-I hope Lila didn't really mean the break thing.
-How much are we betting Reginald is up to something again?
+A side note:
I kinda feel like lots is happening yet it's the middle of the season (which is so short!) and almost nothing has happened??
I know they'll put everything important in the end but I hope we do get to see some characters again!
I hoped we'd have a peak at Pogo and OG Grace.
I also hope Sloane shows up. And Dave.
And Sissy!!!!!! I WANT SISSY BACK!
All in all, there are some plot holes that need filling. How Ben died isn't the only mystery!
I also hope the last episode is longer!

I’m convinced you’re the only person with a correct view on tua season 3. Even though it wasn’t as good as s1 some people have no reading comprehension and it drive s me crazy
Ah, Season 3. Like, I get it, I think, where people who don't like it are coming from. It's got some wack choices (...just like s2. And s1 but we didn't have anything to compare it to so it's my Beloved Golden Season). I'm not going to force anyone to change their minds on it - if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. People like what they like.
But, because you're asking me so my opinion is most important in this instance - it's not bad! I do like it! It's got fantastic character moments (Five and Lila, Five and Klaus, Luther and Viktor, Diego and Lila, Allison and Viktor, Klaus and Sparrow Ben...). It's got Reggie being a lil weirdo. It's got Sparrow Ben. I love the wedding at the end of the world with my whole heart - it's such a human thing to do it makes me ache. I love that Five's song choice when facing the actual end of the world is to sing "I've Had the Time of My Life" because he's with his family! I actually really like Allison's spiral, I think it makes perfect sense for her as a character and where she was at and my only regret for it is the backlash Allison and Emmy got from it. The characters are what I'm here for, and I can be very forgiving as long as I get to hang out with my guys more. And I don't even think I need to be that forgiving to S3!
There are like... four specific things I don't like in S3 (Founder Five plot, Sloane, Lila pregnant, Oblivion Guardians). Aidan is so fucking good in the Founder plot that I'm happy to logic my way into an interpretation of it that I like better. Sloane is... there. She's rather two-dimensional so that makes it also easy to not be that bothered by her. She's there! Luther likes her! I don't need more! Which is good, because they don't really give more! The last two are just things I wish they hadn't done, or had done differently, but they did and so that's just how it is. I can focus on that and be mad or I can look at the stuff I liked and have fun.
I think my biggest strength coming into S3 was I didn't have too much for expectations, good or bad, which is a thing I'm trying to repeat for S4 by avoiding spoilers. I think the maddest I got about S3 coming in was finding out Diego was a dad - I hated that Stan was his kid. It didn't make any fucking sense. And! Look what good being mad about that did for me! Stan wasn't even his kid! I got mad over nothing! Like, still mad Lila is pregnant so Diego will be dad, but that at least will make sense - I don't dislike Dad!Diego, I dislike SuddenDad!Diego with a teen. But, what I'm trying to get at with that example, is I did that to myself. I made myself mad based on info promos gave me and I extrapolated to a conclusion rather than actually waiting to see what the show was going to do, and it did color my enjoyment watching until the Stan Reveal.
You cannot extrapolate what the fuck TUA is going to do. It's too bonkers, the writing isn't consistent enough. It's gonna do its own thing. I think trying to dig into the promos and BTS content for S4 to predict what it will be is setting yourself up for failure. If that's your jam, do not stop! You do you! I, however, am combating this by actively just Not Thinking About It. I love this show and its characters and I want to give myself the fairest chance to enjoy and love what its finale will be.
Like S3, S4 is going to be what it's going to be. I might love it, I might hate it. I'm probably going to love some of it and hate some of it. All I can hope is I love more than I hate and me coming in with concrete ideas of what it's going to be only gives me more things to hate when what actually happens inevitably doesn't align. Why do that to myself?

Fandom: The Umbrella Academy Summary: Marcus may not have been the best leader, but he's still better than whatever the fuck is happening with the Umbrella Academy. Ben could be better than their leader and he sure as Hell is a better second in command even if he and Marcus argue sometimes. Warnings: PTSD, panic attacks, canonical child abuse and torture, not Allison Hargreeves friendly Word Count: 5,991 Ship(s): Marcus Hargreeves/Ben Hargreeves/Viktor Hargreeves
Archive link!
A/N: So I've edited this quite heavily but I'm still not sure how I feel about this. The quality is lower than some of my other fics have been but I still want to get it out there. I feel like if I don't post this then I'll just sit and fiddle with it until I can't even look at it. So here it is! Thank you all so much for reading, I hope you like it! Stay sissy and bitchy everyone <3
They were all sitting in the main living room at the Academy, staring at each other like it would make the other team explode. They had managed to soothe their differences and quell the rivalry that had been brewing between the two families for the time being. The Umbrellas were sitting on one side of the living room while the Sparrows took up the other side, though Sloane and Luther were sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace while looking between both sets of superheroes.
Ben was pacing back and forth between the couch with the rest of his family on it. Fei was reclining back with her arms folded so that she could pet the feathers of the bird on her lap while still looking as intimidating as possible. Alphonso was leaning back against Jayme’s legs where the other girl was positioned next to her sister. Christopher was rolling anxiously over the lamp next to the couch. Marcus was sitting on the chair next to the end table, a physical and metaphorical distance between him and the rest of the team. Ben hated how poetic all of their positions felt.
It seemed like the other team couldn’t go five minutes without arguing about something, including where they were going to sit. The angry one with mind-control powers flopped down into the chair closest to the door after they had guided her in. The one with knives was spread out over the couch with the girl that hadn’t been with them when they arrived perched on his lap. The one that looked as though he was a child was brooding on the couch beside them, muttering something under his breath. The one that had been running around with their father was splayed over the armchair opposite to Marcus and possibly sleeping or dead.
“Where is he?” a new voice demanded.
It had been hard to remember which of the Umbrellas was missing since the battle that they had was so chaotic, but Ben was sure that one was. Their numbers were finally complete as the missing member was walking into their space with Grace following behind him, likely having just brought him into the house.
Ben’s mind stopped the angry whirring long enough to take in what he actually looked like. The pronouns had naturally switched themselves in Ben’s mind when he took in the more masculine energy that the newcomer was projecting. He had cut his hair so that it framed his face and hung over his forehead. The brown color of his hair brought out the starkness of his eyes, which held a deep rooted sadness just barely behind the fire burning there. His clothes were rumpled and dirty, similar to what people looked like when they had just come from a fight of some kind. He had an inch long wound on his cheek that had very recently scabbed over. His chest was heaving for air and his skin was slightly luminescent, just enough that Ben noticed the swell of power in the air.
“Who, Harlan?” the mind control Umbrella asked as she rose from where she had been sitting. She crossed her arms menacingly over her chest as she stepped towards her brother.
“Yes, Allison!” the smaller hero snapped as he advanced on her. “What did you do to him?”
“Why didn’t you tell me what he did to us?” she retorted.
“What?” Viktor asked, looking genuinely confused and upset.
“Why didn’t you tell me, or anyone for that matter, that he was the one that killed our mothers and got us into this whole mess?” Allison demanded.
Ben stopped his pacing and walked over to the couch. He folded his arms and then leaned on it so that he could be closer to his siblings. “Ten bucks on the little one,” he muttered as he grabbed a chip from the bag that Jayme had open on her lap.
“I’ll take that. He beat the shit out of both of us when we were fighting him and she has trigger words she has to use,” the other Sparrow snorted as she mimed biting at his hand to get him to stop stealing her food.
The smaller Umbrella grit his teeth together hard enough that it looked like his jaw hurt. “I didn’t tell you because I didn’t think that it was fucking relevant, Allison! I also didn’t have a lot of time before you were pushing me out of the door,” he was talking with his hands as he got more upset. Something underneath his skin was beginning to glow pale white in a way that made him look ethereally beautiful.
“You don’t get to make that call for the family, Viktor,” the one that looked like a child objected, his brows furrowing together in anger.
He rounded on another brother, “And you do? You’ve all been hiding information from me and cutting me out of family decisions since Dad died so you don’t get to be upset that I’m doing it now! I was just trying to protect an innocent man that I hurt,” he turned back to Allison then. “You had no right to trick me into letting you kill him after you promised that you would help me.”
“I did help you. Until you started letting him kill you,” she growled. He rolled his eyes at that and took a step away from her. “I don’t know why I should help you anymore anyways. Everything that you do ends up hurting me in some way because that’s all you do!”
“How am I the one that ruined your life when I’ve barely seen either of them? Every time that you come back into my life you also end up fucking it up, Allison, so I don’t think that you get to accuse me of being that evil,” Viktor snarled at her.
“You killed Claire!” she shouted, her voice holding a kind of feral darkness to it that the Sparrows had only seen in their most dangerous foes.
Viktor took a sharp step back like he was expecting to be hit. “I didn’t kill Claire! I’m sorry that I don’t know how to get her back, none of us do. I don’t know how to bring her back or send you back to Ray, but that’s not my fault. I tried to help you-”
She cut him off before he got to finish. “Help me what? Help me mourn? Every single one of you has been trying to push me to just get over it since we got here. Do any of you even grasp what I’ve lost every time we’ve jumped through time?” Allison demanded, turning towards the rest of the Umbrellas while still keeping her eye on the rest of them.
The one with the ineffective powers shifted on his chair so that he was upright while still slumped back, his eyes narrowing slightly. He was toying with a pair of dog tags resting halfway down his chest with his fore and middle finger. He didn’t even open his mouth to try and fight her though, which let her keep going.
“You haven’t lost anything and you have cost me two families, Viktor. You’re conceited and dangerous and you don’t even fucking realize it. I can’t believe I ever thought that we could actually be siblings after all the shit that you’ve pulled on me that ended up making my life absolutely miserable,” she seethed.
“Allison, you don’t get to take the high ground here. You were one of the worst people in the house when it came to tormenting me and you’re the one that-” Viktor desperately tried to get a word in edgewise.
“Shut up!” she screamed. The air rippled with her power in a way that was honestly kind of impressive, especially since her power hadn’t been that strong when she had used it during their fight. Viktor’s eyes glazed over with foggy white for a moment and when they cleared he began to claw at his mouth.
Ben could hear him taking in ragged breaths through his nose as he tried in vain to get his mouth to open. The other Umbrellas immediately realized that she wasn’t going to hold back despite the good relationship the two had seemingly had prior. “Woah, Allison, that’s enough,” Luther protested from where he was sitting next to Sloane. When he made a movement to get up, the Sparrow pulled him back down and gave her head a little shake. It made Ben wonder what had happened that made Sloane so cautious about her new boyfriend being around his own siblings.
“I think we all need to calm down,” the one that looked like a child said as he glanced warily towards his brother. Viktor’s skin was still glowing a luminescent blue color and the foundation of the house was beginning to shake the stronger that it grew.
Allison completely ignored the kid, which he looked very frustrated about, though he still didn’t try to interfere at all. “I haven’t done anything to you! We should have left you in the fucking basement to rot,” she almost screamed.
“That’s enough!” Diego shouted before the last word had even finished passing through her lips.
It seemed to finally break her out of whatever angry trance that she had been stuck in. She blinked a few times and then took a half step back, which was apparently able to break whatever spell she had over Viktor. He gasped in a breath and then turned on his heel to rush out of the room as quickly as he could.
“Fei, you can handle this, right?” Marcus asked as he and his second in command shared a look. There was an expected animosity between him and Ben despite the fact that they had grown up around each other and the Sparrows were overall fairly close with each other. They had personas that they instinctively covered themselves in when they were around outsiders and strangers to protect their public image, but that wasn’t who they really were nor what they really felt about their teammates.
“Of course,” the blind woman nodded. The bird on her lap had turned towards the door that Viktor had left through, hopping a couple of times like she was tempted to go after the small hero to see for her master what had happened. She straightened out the raven as Marcus and Ben headed for the door. They closed it behind them so that the meeting could be held in relative privacy and people were less inclined to follow him.
Marcus glanced down each of the halls for any sign of the man that they were chasing after. “Any ideas about where he might have gone?” he asked.
The layout of the house had been changed quite a lot after they had started to drug their father. They had created a more cohesive space out of the amalgamation of buildings so that it felt more like one singular home instead of storefronts stitched together as Reginald pressured them out of their deeds. Some of the base hallways and rooms were the same since the Sparrows weren’t immune to the comfort and nostalgia that the space brought them. If the house had been changed in a different way than it had looked in the Umbrella’s timeline then it was very likely that Viktor was going to get lost quickly.
“We should get the bedrooms we had as kids first. If I had my sister bring up something super shitty and obviously triggering the first place I would go is my room,” Ben said as he began down the hallway towards where his and Marcus’ bedrooms still were. Some of the other siblings, like Sloane and Fei, had moved elsewhere in the house so that they weren’t always on top of each other once they became adults.
Marcus reached out and threaded his fingers together with Ben’s to try and remind the other man that he was there. The last time that they had worked with someone having a panic attack outside of their own family had been the Jennifer Incident. That had given Marcus his own helping of PTSD and issues, of course, but it had been far worse for Ben. He just wanted to make sure that his boyfriend was okay while they dealt with what was a serious situation for them both.
They checked through the empty guest rooms surrounding their own bedrooms before they heard a shuffling sound behind Ben’s door. They shared another look with each other before they both pushed forward. Ben’s room had been the first to get renovated after they had drugged Reginald enough to have full control of his bank account and property. It was curious that he had gone through the door that had been used as a storage closet between some of the bedrooms before Ben had absorbed it into his own.
“Viktor?” Marcus asked carefully as he stepped through the door. He had maneuvered his boyfriend so that Ben was behind him if the man ended up being anywhere as dangerous as it had turned out that Jennifer was.
The aforementioned man was sitting on the rug in the center of Ben’s room. He had a pair of headphones over his ears and was pressing the ‘play’ button so hard that Marcus was surprised that the walkman hadn’t broken. His skin was less blue than it had been while he was arguing with Allison, likely because he didn’t feel like he was being attacked when he was hidden away in Ben’s room. His hair was disheveled and this close they could both see that his clothes were marked with dirt and bits of leaves. He was shaking as he clamped his other hand over his mouth to try and stifle the sounds of his cries. The wound on his cheek was weeping again, though it was hard to tell because of the way that he had spread the tears around his skin.
Marcus took a careful step into the room and then knelt down next to the tiny hero. He reached out and pressed a hand to Viktor’s shoulder which got him out of his head, but also caused him to fling himself away from the touch.
“It’s okay, we’re not here to hurt you,” Marcus soothed, putting his hands up in a defensive posture.
Viktor removed the headphones from his ears so that they were hanging down around his neck and then pushed himself up into a standing position. He plucked the front of his shirt twice and then began to pull at the tips of his fingers. “I-I’m sorry, I know that this is someone’s room but I couldn’t think of anywhere else to go,” he stuttered around the sobs that he wasn’t able to keep back. His eyes flitted from Marcus to Ben and then to the partially open window, though the outside was obscured by the bug screen that they had put in.
“It’s my room,” Ben replied plainly as he moved past Marcus so that they were standing shoulder-to-shoulder half a yard in front of the doorway. “You came in here to cry?”
“In the other world it was my room,” Viktor replied awkwardly. “Part of it was, at least. You guys did the same thing that Klaus did. I slept in this part and he slept in that one, but when I went to college he knocked a huge hole in it so Dad had to combine them. Made it awkward when I tried to come home for Christmas my freshman year.” He gestured towards the blue-painted feature wall that had been nothing but cinder blocks when they had been using it as a storage room.
“I’m sorry, are you saying that you slept in a closet when you lived with the Academy? I don’t think that would make you very mission ready,” Ben snorted. He had judged the Umbrellas pretty heavily when they arrived since they seemed to be nothing more than disjointed rabble that had basically been pulled off the streets. Marcus and Sloane had told him a couple of things about them that only cemented that idea, like Viktor’s claim that he had ended the world and Luther’s surprise at the closeness of the Sparrows.
“I didn’t go on missions,” Viktor cleared his throat. He tapped at the floor with the point of his shoe.
Ben looked even more bewildered than before. The Umbrellas were an enigma that he was wishing he understood the more that he learned about them. “Why not? You’re obviously the most powerful out of your siblings. You were able to take all of us down with one burst and we’re actually good.”
He sighed. “It’s complicated. You guys don’t want to hear it. I shouldn’t have done what I did anyway. I’m being selfish again,” he brought one of his hands up to his hair, a fist clenching around the strands on his forehead for just a moment before he fixed it naturally.
Marcus recognized it as a very subtle self harming gesture, something that they had to train Jayme out of when she was little and felt guilty about using her powers on people while they were on missions. It was one of the reasons that she was so closed off and jaded to everyone other than Alphonso now. “I don’t think that not wanting someone to die is selfish. I… If I’m being honest, the only reason that we wanted Harlan was so that we could have some kind of power over you all. It’s scary suddenly finding a team of people just as powerful, and in some cases more powerful, as you after all of our time being the top dogs. We haven’t had someone challenge us the way that you all did since we got Dr. Terminal in prison.”
“We have bigger problems to worry about. Allison-” Viktor tried again.
“Screw that bitch. What she said obviously bothered you and it’s not going to get off your mind until you talk about it. So talk,” Ben said. It was his way of safely telling the other man that he cared enough to listen to what he needed to say without letting him feel too guilty about it. He had never been very good about being heartfelt or showing any kind of vulnerability since their father had raised him to be Number One their entire lives, until that fatal mistake. Marcus recognized it and gave his hand a quick squeeze.
Viktor had long since stopped crying but the tears and snot were still wet on his face, so Marcus handed him a tissue and then motioned for him to sit down. The Sparrows sat on Ben’s bed, facing towards him while he sat down on the chair that had been tucked into the desk. “So?” Marcus prompted.
He fidgeted for a moment longer before he finally answered, “I wasn’t sent on missions because I was raised to believe that I didn’t have any powers. I don’t have great memories of it because of something that Allison did when we were four and that’s pretty fucking young for even non-mind controlled people. But essentially, Dad decided that my powers were too volatile and dangerous. He put me on this medication that he told me were for my nerves and he made sure that I took them my entire life. I only got off of them about six weeks ago.”
The Sparrows shared a look with each other. They knew about the medication that Reginald had made that would both sedate them and take away whatever was making their powers inside of them. It was the only thing that had kept Ben from dying during the Jennifer Incident and often helped Alphonso when his own powers began to get out of control. They had only ever had it used on them when they needed it, usually that was determined by Grace or Pogo when they were too young to consent, or when they were in a life-or-death situation. It had never been used for longer than a couple of days and never without them knowing what it was doing.
“Does that have something to do with you ending the world twice?” Marcus asked, a small smirk slipping over his face despite himself. He had never seen a display of power more errotic and terrifying at the same time than when Viktor had said that to him while, in a controlled manner, made the entire diner they were in rattle.
The aforementioned hero flushed and then ducked his head down towards the ground. He was still toying with his fingers to try and soothe his nerves but he no longer looked like he was going to burst into tears at any given moment. “It does. I had a… boyfriend? I don’t know if you could even call him that since we knew each other for all of seven days but anyway. I had a boyfriend that found one of Reginald’s old journals somehow and he used it to figure out about my medication. Long story short, he took me off of the meds and then it turned out that I had a lot of repressed power that I couldn’t control. I ended up blowing up the moon because I used my powers through my violin and it got out of hand really fast.”
“What about the second time?” Ben asked, genuinely curious. He was learning a lot of information that was really helpful to know about their enemy as well as just getting overall closer to a man that he found very attractive outside of his overall annoyance for new people.
“I got kidnapped by the FBI who thought that I was a spy for the USSR when we were in the sixties before we came here. They gave me a hallucinogen and then electrocuted me to try and get me to talk but the only thing that it did was jump start my powers. Five never fully explained how that was supposed to start the apocalypse but Diego mentioned something about the FBI building exploding, which had to be my fault since shit tends to blow up when I let my powers go too far. The apocalypse ended up not happening, obviously, but it was because of the ghost of you in another timeline,” his eyes flickered nervously towards Ben.
The Sparrow understood the trepidation that he had in bringing up Ben’s other universe self since he hadn’t exactly reacted well to it the last couple of times it had happened. This time it didn’t feel like an insult, like he was upset that Ben wasn’t that other version instead of just being himself. It carried too much guilt and anxiety with it to be mean. Ben wondered what kind of relationship that version of himself had with Viktor, especially if they had the same taste in partners if the fluttering in Ben’s stomach at being able to make Viktor blush were anything to go by.
“Wait, did you say that you were electrocuted? Like tortured?” Marcus asked, snapping the other man out of his introspection.
“Yeah, it’s not that big of a deal. Diego had to go through way worse when he was locked away in the mental institution and they all had to endure worse in their training,” he brushed them off.
The ease of his dismissal was what really worried both of the other men. They had encountered people even within their own circles that were very willing to blow off their own problems so that they could focus on others but Viktor’s excuse seemed almost practiced. “It’s still a big deal even if other people have gone through what you might think is worse. Trauma isn’t a fucking sport,” Ben growled. “Who made you feel like it was?”
“No one,” Viktor shook his head, which they could both tell was a lie. “I just… My siblings have gone through way more than I have. They had to go on missions and put up with all of that training. I never had to go through anything like that because Dad took away my powers. I lived a relatively quiet life and was ignored a lot so I didn’t even have to deal with harassment the same way that Allison did. I pitched a lot of fits and got disproportionately upset about a lot of things when they’ve all had to endure way more than I have. It’s not something I get to be upset about after all I put them through.”
“All you put them through? I think you meant to say the consequences of what our shitty father did to you,” Marcus corrected. “The second apocalypse was definitely not your fault, you can’t help the reaction that your powers have to that kind of trauma.”
“What happened during the first?” Ben asked before the man even had a chance to process what the other hero had said. He was curious and beginning to get angrier that the other team could treat one of their own the way that they had been. The Sparrows weren’t exactly kind to each other but they definitely had more compassion and understanding for their teammates that the Umbrellas seemed to.
“It’s kind of complicated. We should probably get back to the planning so that we can stop the end of the world,” Viktor mumbled as he slowly began to raise from the chair.
It was Marcus that stopped him that time, gesturing with his head for Viktor to sit down again. He did so cautiously, eyeing them like he was unsure that he wasn’t walking directly into a trap. “I… We all kind of went our separate ways as adults and it made me get bitter. I was left alone a lot when I was growing up but now I was literally alone and I didn’t quite know how to handle that. So I wrote a book about the kinds of things that Dad had done to me and I spilled a lot of family secrets. Allison in particular was riding off of the fame that the Academy gave her with her Hollywood career and she accused me of trying to ruin her image. I think I just hurt Diego’s feelings by talking about the way that Dad had hurt specifically him. I don’t know, I thought that it was a good idea at the time, but it turned out to be awful. My ex-boyfriend got ahold of the book and then used that with the journal that he found behind the house to abuse me.”
Viktor was staring down at his hands the entire time that he spoke. Both of the other men could see that he was shivering slightly with the emotions that were overcoming him. Regardless of what he was feeling, he pressed on, “He turned me against my family. Told me that none of them could ever truly love me even if some of them were trying to have a good relationship with me after our dad’s death. Then he tricked me to go cold turkey off my meds and convinced me that it was a good idea. It wasn’t and my powers were totally out of control. They still get a little messy if I’m really out of it now but it’s nothing like it was back then.”
Guilt crept over his face and he scrunched up his nose like he was trying to resist the urge to cry. “Then, um, Allison showed up at the house that he and I were staying at and we got in a fight. We were arguing because she remembered that Dad made her rumor me into believing that I was ordinary in all things for the duration of my life. At the time it felt like she was the reason that my entire life had been utterly miserable but I know that’s not true now. But I got scared because she tried to rumor me again and I cut her throat with my powers, channeling it through the bow of my violin. I… I felt awful, of course. She was my sister and not even Leonard-Harold,” he screwed up his face and shook his head.
He placed his head in his hands and tried to muffle the sound of the sobs that were pushing their way past his mouth. “Sorry,” he whispered after a moment.
Marcus slipped off of the bed so that he was kneeling in front of Viktor. He had always been at least a smidge more compassionate than Ben and was definitely better at showing it post-Jennifer Incident. “You don’t have to keep explaining if it’s putting you in actual distress. The more that you tell us the easier that it’s going to be for us to protect you, though.”
“Why would you want to protect me?” Viktor asked, sounding genuinely confused.
The two Sparrows showed a look at each other. Ben folded his arms defensively over his chest as he said, “Because you’re going to be a good fucking asset to our team. They treat you like shit, you’re very obviously powerful and talented. It just makes sense that you would want to come and work with us instead of staying with them.”
“They’re my family…” the Umbrella hero whispered with a minute shake of his head.
“Blood is thicker than water, Viktor. We were all ripped away from our biological families and lumped together like that was somehow going to bind us together. We won’t pressure you into it, but we would like to at least have some connection to you after this is all over,” Marcus whispered. He was trying to ignore the shy smile that was forcing its way onto his lips. Despite the content of the meeting, back when they were in the diner he was unable to completely ignore the fact that it felt a little bit like a date. He and Ben had already talked about it and if Viktor was at all willing, Ben had given Marcus permission to pursue a possible romantic relationship with him.
“I’d… have to talk to them about it. I couldn’t just leave them after everything that I put them through,” he sniffled. “But, um, the first apocalypse. I came back to the house and they locked me in the basement. Apparently there was a room that Dad had made especially for me, I think he put me in it when I was four and he was making the medication. But it was sound proof so that I couldn’t hear anything inside of it from the outside and it even muffled the sound of my own breathing.”
“That is quite literally torture. That kind of thing is illegal for the government to do to their prisoners and scientists aren’t allowed to study it besides small trials,” Marcus said, brows furrowed in worry.
Viktor shrugged. “My powers are to turn sounds into energy so that meant that I wasn’t allowed to have any sounds so that I couldn’t use them to break out of my prison.”
Ben scowled. He didn’t like what he was hearing and it was upsetting him more the longer that he listened to it. “So when that bitch said that she should have left you in the basement she meant that they should have kept you in a tiny, soundproof room until you either starved to death or found a way to kill yourself?”
The smallest of the heroes nodded awkwardly. “You know, the ironic thing is that they already did that. When Luther locked me in that room- and don’t go after him for that he was brainwashed by our father and thought that it was for the best until they could get me back on my medication- I begged for them to let me go. I was literally screaming so bad that my voice hurt for days afterwards. Granted I didn’t know what had happened in the days following that incident because I got hit by a car and developed amnesia, but it was really distressing. They were all just standing there and not even Allison or Five let me out. I thought that they were the two people that would see the most humanity in me, especially since Allison knew that I hadn’t meant to hurt her and it was an accident. I guess what she just said proves that she didn’t care or see the good in me.”
Marcus and Ben glanced towards each other for the millionth time that night. When someone spent their entire childhoods growing up alongside another person they developed a way of silently communicating, which is what they were doing currently. They both came to the same conclusion, Marcus rising so that he was standing beside Viktor. He cleared his throat and tried to look as much a leader as he could despite having very little practice in it. “We’re annexing you into the Sparrow Academy. Your own team treats you poorly and doesn’t seem to understand you. I can guarantee you that with a little time we can help you more than they can. I know that they’re your family and you love them very much, we’re not trying to replace them. We just want you to have the chance to flourish in a team that could really use your talents.”
In response, Viktor tilted his head down towards his hands and then took a deep breath. They could see him struggling not to cry, so gave him the space that he needed to cope. “I think I want that. I think that I want that so much.”
Surprisingly, it was Ben that took the step forward and wrapped him up in a much needed hug. Viktor grasped the back of his shirt so tightly that he wasn’t sure that he could escape even if he wanted to. The small hero hid his face in the crook of the other man’s neck and then began to sob so hard that his body shook with the force of it.
Once he had finished, the two heroes separated. Viktor turned to grab some of the tissues from the desk so that he could clean his face. It was terrifying how quickly he was able to make the distress disappear from his features. For a moment, Marcus wondered how often he had been forced to do that when he was young for him to be so practiced at it now.
Ben stripped his shirt off and deposited it into the laundry shoot next to the desk in his wall. When Viktor spotted him, rippling muscles shining under the natural light streaming through the window, his cheeks turned bright red and he angled his body away from the other man slightly. Marcus cataloged it as a good sign for the romantic relationship that they might be able to pursue with him once they learned a little bit more about his trauma and how they could help him through it.
After they were all presentable again, they walked back to the living room where the rest of their family was. Ben placed a careful hand on Viktor’s shoulder to steer him towards their side of the space despite Klaus’ attempts to drag him back over. The shock and confusion that covered their faces was satisfying in a twisted kind of way, like they were realizing that they had the potential to lose their brother to people that would love him more. Even Allison, despite all of her harsh words and bravado earlier looked offended to the bone that Viktor’s doe eyes had been turned towards Marcus and Ben and away from her. They were going to treat him better, they were going to worship him and appreciate him as the walking god that he was.
That much they were sure of.

❔ yeah i know we usually just yell at each other when we have an idea anyway but who am i to just scroll past this (also do this for luther too thanks ily)
send ❔ and i’ll list a couple muses that i’d like to throw at yours! / always accepting
@doomdays
i know you and tiff have Emori & Hanna, which ofc just makes me think of Emori & Spencer. also Emori & Jesper make sense to me. something...something is there. i can feel it i just can't put my mind on it. yes it has the finding a family vibes of it but also just VIBES. jesper being really smart but needing a thrill. burying his powers for his entire life. idk...something something!
I told you when we first did this Viktor & Logan was something I agreed with 100%. their powers. the way they could potentially mirror. but also ! Viktor & Lydia. that imagery of viktor and the violin / the way lydia uses her banshee screams... not knowing how to control it.. i think there is so much there. Viktor & Alina. having your powers repressed your entire lives only for it to come out and be used in ways outside of your control. the isolation. the loneliness.
lydia & ryan. could be in t/wd or some sort of supernatural thing like we were talking about .. could be in bh or something else. also hope. in legacies. i have no idea how they could ever work but lydia & hope d/iyoza would also be a lot.
Leo & Zoe oh... her father is Awful. she has a good mom but oh boy he is Awful and he has her so tightly wrapped that she ends up turning in her sister for breaking The Rules (of their lives). i'll know more about this world in a minute. but zoe is part of a secret organization meant to keep the supernatural safe and hidden from humans. she 100% believes that they are evil creatures of the night, in part because of the indoctrination process that they go through. she's very smart, very talented, could easily be working under him in some capacity ( so also could work with hope & iris ). other kids for leo to adopt: logan, ryan, thea. in turn, all of them also with hope & iris. i also know in my bones that claire, june, and eden works here too. june and hope both have that gifted kid syndrome. eden is also a genius little engineer that was experimented on and turned into a bio weapon ( eden & emori, thanks).
Jaymee & Vanessa. oh yeah. vanessa who bounced around foster homes and jaymee who was taken from hers. also powers. i can 100% see vanessa in a t/ua verse where she is ALSO a crime fighting superhero type.
some of the ones that we just mentioned quickly recently that i want to get down: ryan & mason/hayden (duh), maggie & spencer/layla, tai & spencer,
@moonexile
Jemma. I think i've said this before but she was trapped on a different planet once. she understands that isolation and needing to adjust. i know we also talked about her & sloane and how that would work in this world so.. yes. i maintain.
Sonya. making poor decisions that felt like the only option that you have to atone for and do your best to grow and learn from.
Theo R. maybe post season 2 au where luther is trying to figure his life out. i think they could also understand each other and the decisions that you make that can end up getting people killed. idk!
Jacinda. I don't really know this is just a. they'd be neat. vibe thing I think. she just cares about her kid and doing right by her which can make her compromise some of her morals and stances, especially where her stepmother is concerned. i think they'd be interesting even if i have no thoughts.

All your thoughts make perfect sense and were outthought very carefully, thank you for sharing it!! 🤍
Still, I don't think anything can justify this ship for me, ever. Not the deleted scenes, not the psychology behind it, nothing. Because it just hurts too much. It literally destroyed my heart and the whole essence of the show and left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and sobbing for weeks. It was rushed, made no sense, and I honestly never saw Lila and Five as soulmates that so many shippers love to claim. I also never saw their banter from previous seasons as a romance planned ahead; it's bullshit. And disgusting, frankly, because that means the whole romance between Lila and Diego was made only so Lila could be kept somehow with the fam UNTIL she could have a romance with Five? Yeah, no, I won't buy that, Lila and Diego had so much chemistry, they chose each other despite every fucked up thing that happened between them, I literally haven't even thought about them ever getting ruined like this. I really think this was actually a last minute plot choice, Steve just wants to justify it by claiming it was "planned ahead". Not even the actors saw that coming, so...
Steve Blackman is a moron and I actively like to blame him for everything. He had SO MANY romance options to continue (LUTHER AND SLOANE FFS), but he choose to build the whole last season on two crappy romances (Five and Lila and Jennifer and Ben)? You had one job, Steve, which was to make the ending about the Hargreeves siblings and the beautiful dysfunctional bond between them. And all you did was butcher Five and Lila, make Diego and Klaus suffer, reduce Luther to a comic relief, never give a chance at redemption for Allison, not let Ben be there with his family in the end, holding their hands (even if it was Sparrow Ben) and put Viktor's character in the background when the whole show literally had him at the centre of it from day one.
I also really hope Aidan Gallagher (Ritu Arya too, but Aidan especially) wasn't left with any trauma from this crappy plot choice. He did a wonderful job with it, though, I hope he will pursue acting in the future. When I'm actively hating on Five and Lila's romance, that isn't about Aidan or Ritu; they were terrific in acting the scenes out. It just personally hurt me so much that I won't be able to like this ship even a slightly bit or believe it was a good idea to put these two together; it was so obviously FORCED and for what? I wish this "romance" never happened, it just left more bad than good.
P.S.: Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that. I just wanted to add this to the end because my venting might've sounded a little tense. If one likes this ship, that's fine. If one doesn't, that's fine too ^^
Now I've had time to think (rationally) I really do have to disagree with the fandom consensus that Fivela was out of character - I say this as someone who prefers the platonic relationship. Let me explain:
The main arguement I see is "they would never do that" but one of the biggest and best pieces of advice I've seen on fiction writing is: it's not "would they do that" it's "what would drive them to do that". Everyone is capable of anything and everything if given the right motivation and circumstances, and the same is true of fictional characters.
Five and Lila both have incredibly good reasons to do what they did. The problem is a lack of time. No time is spent on their plotline, and the lack of insight that's given to the audience as to why they would act this way affects the reception of this development hugely. No time is allowed to show the repercussions, and how this is dealt with and what decisions are made. Fivela needed two seasons all to itself to explain everything - one to show their development in the subway, and one to show everything after.
If the showrunners wanted to do Fivela, they needed bare minimum a full 10 episode season, ideally with episodes that are actually longer than normal (Steve, 10 minutes is not enough to count for anything). They shouldn't have tried to tackle something that complex without the time to spend on it.
See, a combination of problems led to Fivela, beginning with the most obvious, isolation. It seriously fucks people up, it seriously fucked Five up, and it seriously fucked Lila up in the subway. Not just the loneliness but the lack of support, medical facilities, knowing no one will turn up to save you. Basic necessities like food, water, hygiene. Everything is now entirely on Fivela to gather for themselves, and if they don't find it, they can't have it regardless of how badly they need it. That alone is a tremendous amount of stress.
Add onto that, Fivela became the only support each other had, essentially invoking a sort of stockholm syndrome where they began to see each other as a sort of saviour, each other's knight in shining armour. It's not unbelievable that they'd begin blurring the lines between platonic and romantic and even sexual love when they rely on each other's goodwill to survive (Five moreso in the emotional sense, and Lila moreso in the experience/knowledge sense).
For Lila in particular, her survival method has always been her connections to people. She feels intensely, and attaches herself to others with that same intensity. Even after a lifetime of living amongst conniving, backstabbing manipulators at the commission, she still attached to Diego and in a (platonic, spiteful, playful) way, to Five. In the subway she is stripped of all but one connection. Of course she felt it intensely, of course she clung to it.
As for the cheating - Lila obviously had a choice, and she made the wrong one. She hurt Diego, betrayed his trust. But she was in an incredibly traumatic situation, and forming unhealthy bonds with her sole companion was her coping mechanism. And she figures this out for herself! As soon as she knows she can leave she drops her coping mechanism and returns to make things right for Diego. Diego doesn't have to forgive her, but in most situations, where one spouse believes the other to be dead/missing/unreachable for YEARS it's not weird for them to move on.
Five's survival method has always been blending reality with fantasy. Delores is the prime example, and I honestly don't understand the debate that Five was cheating on her. She's a fantasy he used to cope with the apocalypse, she doesn't exist outside of his head and that's a blaring alarm. It means that unlike Lila, who snapped out of her fantasy once she left her traumatic circumstance, Five is unable to separate fantasy from reality even when outside of a triggering situation. This is why Five taking Delores back to the department store was a huge moment in S1, he was taking the first step in healing and approaching a better mindset. He may not have been able to acknowledge that Delores isn't real, but he was able to recognise that she served a purpose, and that purpose was fulfilled so she should be returned to where she belonged, separate from Five.
I don't think that Five is unaware of what Delores is, I think he subconsciously knows that she's a mannequin. Hence his general inoffense at others describing her as a mannequin, or calling him mad for being with her. He knows his situation, he just can't confront it himself, especially not while still under incredible stress and physical threat.
The reason Delores and Five's inablility to distinguish reality is important is because Five and Lila treated their relationship as a fantasy, except Lila was able to resurface from it while Five was not. I don't want to excuse his actions, but given that this has been a severe, near debilitating (it affects his relationships) problem for Five since S1, I think his being a vulnerable, chronically mentally ill person needs to be considered when looking at his actions.
This is also a major reason as to why Five hid the journal from Lila, because showing Lila meant leaving that fantasy, and Five needs fantasy to cope. Again, still a dick move and not an excuse, but an understable one. (Add on top of this that The Handler likely waited until Five had given up on going home before rescuing him...)
I think it's highly likely that what Five has with both Delores and Lila is a projection of what he thinks normalcy looks like, and safety along with it. He waited until he was an adult to actually marry Delores, before that she was likely just considered a friend or maybe girlfriend, because that's the normal thing to do. When you're an adult, you should be married, you should probably also be scolded for drinking too much or being too mean. That's what wives/spouses do in Five's mind. He created Delores as the one "normal" thing, so that he could retreat for a minute and pretend everything was okay and just take a breather.
He did the same for Lila. With the addition of the deleted scene/blooper where Five dreams about Lila while in the subway, it seems as though Five was becoming worried that Lila was also losing her mind, maybe becoming like him. The way he suggests them taking a break, he seems to be doing it for her benefit (if he was alone, I don't think he would have. I think he would have continued to hunt for answers until he lost his mind, died, or found his answer).
He doesn't see his version of "a break" aka break from reality, to be unhealthy, and so he shows Lila how to "cope". Lo and Behold, he finds the most normal thing he can - domestic bliss, Lila, the woman/wife, is at home most often in the garden, while Five, the man/husband, is away hunting, gathering, provdiding. It's an incredibly stereotypical view, but that's exactly why Five likes it. It's normal, and he sees normal as safe (normal means no powers, no missions, no apocalypse).
This isn't to say that Lila had no part in this, she also has issues with "normal". She tried to force normal on her family (affenctionately), probably why there's no discussion on her parents being alive, because she wants normal. It's also why she acts like the typical overwhelmed mum, because she feels she needs to be normal. This isn't the whole of her issues at home (bad writing and forced conflict mainly), Diego also has issues with belitting Lila and resentment. His masculinity and need to prove himself a "man" also causes issues. But Lila has been trying to be normal without really knowing how, and so when Five begins doing the exact same thing in the subway? Lila knows how to play that game.
This was very Five centric and I apologise, if there's more to add on Lila from a Lila fan I'd welcome it!
Essentially, I think that Fivela was understandable, and the characters would do that. I also think that despite Fivela adding salt to an already bitter ending, Fivela was one of the better episodes of S4. It was just the wrong plotline to try and do with so little time.
Also Steve needed to treat it like the psychology mindfuck that it was and not the cutesy romance drama he thinks it is.

Assuming there is a season 4 of the Umbrella Academy, here is what I think all the main characters’ arcs are going to be about:
- Lila and Diego: I’m assuming there will be a time jump between season 3 and 4, probably a few months. That means Lila will be near the end of her pregnancy or have a newborn baby, and their arc is going to revolve around them panicking over being parents.
- Luther: Searching for Sloane. Assuming she exists in this universe, I predict that he’ll find her but she won’t have any idea of who he is, and Luther will spend the first part of the season trying to rekindle their relationship.
- Allison: I’m assuming she’s trapped in some type of artificially made dimension? Kinda like WandaVision, where she’s living in a false reality to cope with her pain. Over time, I’m assuming Allison will become more and more dissatisfied by this false reality as she notices that Claire and Ray don’t act like real people but rather just do whatever makes Allison happy. I predict the rest of the Umbrella Academy will find a way to help Allison break out of this false world and rejoin them in the real one.
- Klaus: I think Klaus will have a really hard time coping with the fact that he’s no longer immortal. I think the fact that the Void was the only place where he didn’t feel like a freak or an outcast is going to impact him pretty heavily. In season 1, he used drugs in order to drown out the ghosts. In season 4, I think he’s going to be looking for a way to cope with the loneliness now that he can’t see the dead and the world still sees him as a outsider.
- Five: I think he will find that he really does depend on doomsdays and apocalypses to give his life purpose (as multiple people commented on in season 3). He will also find it extremely annoying trying to live his life while everyone perceives him as a teenager, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up staying with another member of the team just because he can’t get an apartment or housing while looking like a teenager (if this happens, I think he’s most likely to stay with Viktor). I think that Five will be the first person to become obsessed with getting their powers back, because Five needs something — ANYTHING — to focus on now that there is no doomsday.
- Ben: I think we will encounter both Sparrow Ben and Umbrella Ben in season 4 (since we saw a second Ben on a Korean train during the credits). I think Sparrow Ben will be focused on finding a new purpose and a new group of people to belong with. I have no idea what Umbrella Ben will be up to, but I imagine that Sparrow Ben will have an identity crisis upon meeting Umbrella Ben because he was compared so much to his counterpart in season 3. I hope Sparrow Ben spends time reflecting on his relationship with the rest of the Sparrows so we get more information on Marcus, Christopher, Fei, etc. Also, tell us what the Jennifer Incident is!!!!!
- Viktor: he will miss Allison the most out of everyone. I think Viktor will play a huge part in saving Allison from her false reality, and hopefully — HOPEFULLY — the two will have a proper conversation where they can sort out their differences. Even if things aren’t the same between them, I hope they can at least understand each other again. I think he will also have a moment where he’s like “man, I spent my whole childhood thinking I didn’t have powers, but then it turns out I did, but now I really don’t have powers!! I’m back to square one!!!”
It seems like the villain of the series is going to be their dad. I think all the main crew will realize that this new reality is very corrupt and strange because Hargreaves owns everything, and the siblings will have to unite once again in order to get their powers back and stop their dictator dad.

Hy everyone, I'm going to be reviewing the third Umbrella Academy season chapter by chapter couse I couldn't fit every thought in a single post!
I'm going to comment some important bits and then list the details I liked most in chronological order, hope you enjoy and feel free to rant in the comments/taggs with me <3
Episode 1: Meet the Family
Theories and analysis:
I think Ben is a bit sensitive about the scar because he got it during the Jennifer Incident and even though it didn't kill him this time around it probably was what led to his eventual demotion to number 2
I don't know if it's confirmed but I want to believe Christopher communicates through telepathy with the others
I'm going to bring this up again but why do they all suddenly think Five knows what might be different in the timeline? The whole show is about him not knowing this kind of stuff and trying to find out.
One of the things that bother me this season is that some of the conflict seems a bit fabricated. For example, I get that we need conflict right away but the Sparrows dismiss the Brellies so fast and have a very bullie like kind of humor? And the Brellies get so defensive of their childhood home, which they didn't even seem to like during the previous seasons, even before the Sparrows become hostile
Another example of this is nobody realizing that Claire doesn't exist before it's revealed. Allison hasn't lived the same life in this timeline, obviously Claire is not going to exist
I love how it's a consistent theme that Klaus kind of just comes across plot relevant shit without trying (Part 1. Hotel Obsidian)
Watching Viktor and Allison during the first half of the season hurts me so much because they could have finally had the good relationship they wanted since season one
I know we don't get to know much about how the Sparrows work in this timeline but I think the closest we get to knowing are Marcus' interactions and him referring to civilians as "sheep" when he talks to Viktor
Ok. As much as I love the Stanley plotline and Diego trying to figure out how to be a dad, how does anyone entertain this???? Does. Does it look like Lila is 12 years older now??? TO ANYONE????
I'll come back to this later too but after all the promos and such I expected all the Sparrows to have more screentime during this season kind of the way Lila did the previous one so it's a bit of a shame we didn't get to know them that much.
Details + Stuff I liked:
I didn't expect Ben's family in particular to want to keep him so it's a bit reassuring that they did
WTF is RegiNaLd WeAriNg
Jayme and Alphonso beating up racists
Marcus discreetly motioning Ben out of the way so he can be in the center
"Cute hat, Sundance" is my new favorite sentence ever
I love the dynamic between Sloane and Luther since minute one (1)
Diego immediately putting the knife back when he sees Grace
We do not deserve the footloose scene but man, do we love it:
"Oh shit, we're really good at this!!"
Alphonso's very excited face while dancing
Christopher becoming a disco ball
Ben and Klaus dancing together will ✨never✨ fail to bring me joy
GRACE DOING THE ROBOT
Klaus immediately going "wow look at you not being dead, shitty haircut btw, oh look at that scar in your face, anyway how about a hug???" at Sparrow Ben
Klaus' very dramatic fall after the punch
Reginald noping out of the fight and going for some biscuits
Klaus interrupting Luther and Marcus' fistfight to pass through without being hit
Christopher using telepathy explicitly to insult Diego's hair
Five very calmly going through existential problems while discussing with Ben
Alphonso, Jayme and Sloan chilling with some popcorn while Fei fights cause "she's making a point"
"See? We're hugging! This is progress!"
Finally knowing what Five imagines Delores like and them lovingly talking in Italian to each other
If he didn't before Five definitely has a concussion after falling down the stairs. Repeatedly
The Sparrows casually discussing dinner while beating someone up
The umbrellas knowing the secret passages of the house
Reginald struggling to open the biscuit box
Klaus going for the biscuit
Five noping out the second he sees Viktor starting to glow
"Here you go, it's your ass"
Luther also being concussed
"Dickhead"
The sandwiches in numeric order
The Brellies looking like a decadent boyband
People actually looking at them because they strangely resemble the Kennedy 6
Klaus encouraging Luther, even if it's to insult the Sparrows correctly
Everyone slowly turning to Klaus because they need a weirdass place to stay and Of CoUrSe he knows a place
Them all going though the same door but Five going through the door even though he points out there's another one
In this house we stan Chet
Luther and Diego both playing with the doggie like the himbos they are
Ok we love Luther being like "put the knife awaY" when Diego shows the knife but can we talk about the fact that FIVE HAS TEETH IN HIS POCKET???
None of them asking Allison to rumor them some rooms
That's cute, Diego thinks Reginald loves them
The Sparrows training scene, for reasons
Sparrow Ben having the audacity to say they can use the Brellies' lack of loyalty towards one another when he himself doesn't have an ounce of it
Luther loving the summer camp experience
FIVE FINALLY SLEEPING
Would also need my headphones if a baby was crying on the bus
Marcus being a poser
Marcus assuming Viktor is number 1 and being like "well somebody screwed that up" after finding out he is number 7
Viktor being both hot and scary af during that scene
Klaus having the audacity to criticize table manners after peeing through an open window hours/minutes before
Diego, sweetie: Five being older than you doesn't make him a boomer, you were born the same day
Klaus being a confirmed pro clone-fucker cause oF CoURse hE iS
Lila just dropping Stanley with Diego like "here you go, a child"
"Hello Stanley"
I know Grace being religious is a reference to the comics but omg I was not prepared
Damn Marcus. That was fast

Hope you don’t mind if I take you up on your offer to discuss! <3
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed season 3 quite a lot. To understand my take, I feel like you need to know that I straight up dropped season 2. Only managed to get through it at all because I heard season 3 was out.
Like you, I got really frustrated by the lack of follow up on season 1 plot lines in season 2, especially in regards to Viktor. He couldn’t make any meaningful progress on processing what he did (ie literally killing everyone on earth) or on moving past his resentment/anger and forming more positive relationships with his family because he had amnesia until literally the last two episodes. He spends much of the season just blindly accepting what he is told with very little introspection about it, in narrative limbo, and that (for me) made it really hard to get through a lot of his scenes.
Another loose character thread: in one of the most dramatic scenes of season 1, Viktor slit Allison’s throat, nearly killing her, leaving her mute and without the power she has relied on for all her life. And then…nothing. Season 2 glosses over her losing her voice with a quick little flashback, and Allison and Viktor both can’t even work through this incident because of the amnesia. On top of that, Allisons driving motivation in season 1, Claire, is barely mentioned at all, despite being so vital to her character in season 1.
Luther’s storyline (guilt about locking Viktor up) is one of the few that does touch on the emotional fallout of season 1 in a meaningful way, which I appreciated, but it’s quickly derailed by the Allison romance situation. Diego has a romance that takes up a lot of screen time (with no hang ups despite the fact that Patch died mere months ago for him). Klaus spends a lot of the time embroiled in cult hijinks that are mostly there for comedic relief.
It all felt like filler/distractions from what I wanted to see: the family’s dysfunctional and complicated relationship to one another. Season 2 seemed to lose focus of that, instead getting caught up in the time period and in romance subplots. It had some incredible moments (loved the tiki bar scene, Five murdering the board, etc.) but it just didn’t hit the mark in terms of being a continuation of the story that came before it for me.
That said, going into season 3 I had zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised. This season re-centers a lot of the things that I felt season 2 forgot. Viktor has to confront the effect his powers have had on the world and those closest to him. All the problems that Allison has been ignoring (with her daughter and also Viktor himself…) bubble to the surface and she can no longer brush her feelings aside and it’s messy. Klaus grapples with his powers and his identity more directly than he ever has. Five actually gets to interact with his family beyond just barking orders at them and being stressed out (ball of twine moment!!!). I thought Diego’s subplot was a fresh angle to tackle the daddy issues he’s got going on, and seeing Luther move on from Allison was refreshing (even if the Sloane romance is a bit forced imo).
Season 3 is not a perfect season by any stretch, I’ve seen a lot of very valid critique, but it does use previous underutilized character threads to push the characters forward in really fresh and interesting ways imo. It was ambitious and I really respect what they were able to produce even under COVID restrictions and forced re-writes. I find the hate that surrounds it understandable but a bit excessive, you know?
And all that said, season 1 is still king obviously lol. People who bothered to read this long as hell comment: thank you for your time.
i think that’s the thing that gets me is like. season two and season three were not bad tv. like yeah personally i had some gripes with the dialogue and the effects or whatever, but they were absolutely fun tv
but like. i didn’t just want tv out of seasons two and three, i wanted a faithful continuation of the story and characters and themes of season one. and i do think that on that level, season two but especially season three are a fundamental failure in that respect

Umbrella Academy Season 3 Spoilers Thoughts:
(Okay, actually, this might be an Allison bitchfest in the notes. And well, some other general bitching - because some characters made me so annoyed - but generally speaking I really really REALLY loved this season)
Season 4 Five needs to go apeshit, seriously, all of his shitty little siblings give him so much shit like he's supposed to know everything. I wouldn't put it against him to just leave their asses if something else comes up.
Allison REALLY REALLY pissed me off this season. It's not that I don't get her trauma, but the constant belittling of everyone else's trauma? Fuck that. I don't know where I stand with her after this Season, while she was one of my faves in the last two.
NO, I'm sorry Harlen didn't deserve to die. And LMAO. Excuse fucking me, but if the Academies went after him after the vote, he would have killed them all. Seriously, so many of these characters pissed me off this season. And yes, I do give certain characters more of a pass to be murderous (ie. Five and Lila) but the rest of them? Like, holy fuck, y'all are BABIES at this time traveling thing. And Victor wanting to protect Harlan (BECAUSE HE PROBABLY SAW HIM AS A SON - is not fucking selfish and is not a BETRAYAL). Viktor was responsible for Claire's death by mistake. Allison murdered Harlan for not having control of something he didn't choose to have. The fact that she feels right and doesn't feel sorry? Yeah, fuck off with that, what a piece of shit. This whole season has been a testament to how little Allison cares about her family and that's very disappointing. (I'm liable to think the last time jump really fucked with her head because ??? This is just too much)
Allison just being so fucking manipulative. Using her love against her family, like fuck off, the amount of times Five has had to deal with that shit and hasn't murdered a family's loved one. Allison really gave me vibes that she would kill anyone for her kid, even if it's another kid. And I don't know what's going to happen with her but yeah. There's a lot she needs to apologize for.
At the end of it though, even though I get her (the events of her life after the first apocalypse seem unreal and it's easy how she could lose sight of whats wrong or right) I'm really mad at her.
I am happy she got her happy ending though. (Presumably)
omg, almost forgot. What she was going to do to Luther. Jfc. Like, holy shit. I really hope they acknowledge all this in the next season.
Okay, and another thing, that shit she said about Viktor betraying her trust? LMAO. What a laugh, as if the whole family hadn't done that to him his whole life???? Viktor lies ONCE? And oooooo, I can never trust you. Fuck off with that bullshit. (If I were Viktor I'd never trust her again)
Honestly the whole fam was being held by a thread, which this time was Klaus, the last two times it was Five. But you know what, old man, you do you, fuck these hoes, you deserve to retire.
The way that Five was just ready to accept death because at least he wouldn't be the only one alive.
Luther instantly falling in love with Sloan, is well... makes sense. Both of them are so lonely, smart, and naive. lmao They quite honestly deserve each other 10/10. Never did like Allison/Luther (just a boring relationship)
I also love Allison/Ray and thought they brought out the best out of each other, so if she gets to be with him and her daughter, then I'll accept it. (Hope it wasn't just an illusion or something)
Wish Five's relationship with Deloras wasn't a constant joke. And quite honestly happy that Sparrow chick (the one who does the spitting) died, cause -shrugs- what can I say, not impressive.
I was ready for all Sparrows to die. Glad Ben and Sloan lived, wish bird lady lived in the end, I liked her and she actually seemed to care about her family.
YO, REGGIE IS PURE EVIL. The man is just EVIL. I mean, I think he expected Allison to kill him, and somehow that gets him to be with his wife, but I wonder what his original plan was. LMAO. Really hope they have a new season.
That said, Reg and Klaus hanging out was hilarious, still fucked up, but lmao, I think Klaus is at least used to so much fucked up shit in his life where he can practice his power.
But also, why was Klaus dead in the apocalypse??? Did he just choose to stay dead and never knew Five was there? So sad.
There was just so much Five hanging out in ordinary situations. A+++ HIS SPEECH. (I'm sorry but Five just deserves a better family, ffs)
Five and Victor need more time together, because they are about the only sensible siblings and actually care about their family despite their issues...
I love my babe Lila, she reminds me of Vala mal Doran, same chaotic energy - same accent too. LOVE the idea of her and Five being besties. And LOVE that she found out about the Handler killing her and Five rewinding time.
Five being the Commission's founder???? So many questions???? I don't get it, I don't get why he would want Five to accept the apocalypse, maybe there's something even worse next season???? Because if Five did nothing than they'd all just be dead? Is that a better alternative than Hargreeve's owning everything?
Diego and his not kid, so cute. LMAO. And then Diego going to be a soon to be father anyhow! :D
These people never really learn. lmao. They spent how many episodes talking about the briefcase and Marcus, meanwhile, the man's been dead the whole time, and the briefcase has been with them forever. Hilarious when Luther comes back and no one's noticed he's gone.
All in all, this felt like a family breaks up season, which is sad. I hope next season (lord help me) is them coming together.
But as stated before, I NEED Five to go apeshit. And also for actual acknowledgment of HIS traumas. Like??? Same could be said for Klaus. I can totally see why fandom falls on these two, because the rest of the family literally just makes fun of them the whole time. Meanwhile I have to listen to Allison and Luther's issues the whole 3 seasons and want to throw something. Viktor's issues? Good shit. Transformative. Diego? Also transformative. Allison and Luther? I mean, probably, but meh.
I miss the Commission. I miss older Five. It's good to see Reggie in a bigger role. Cause I really fell for his manipulative bullshit. Which is nice! That seems to be a common villain in this story. Hardcore manipulation. I like that.
ANYWAY. Loved the trans rep. Viktor was placed in seamlessly. It was really beautiful. Loved Harlan, was super excited for him to have powers in the end of Season 2. Loved the wacky scenes where everyone is just partying and FIVE is involved.
Jessica who?
Don't like their Mom being cast aside, and it's so interesting how Pogo finally takes a stand against Reggie in this timeline. It just comes way later and at the end doesn't save anyone. Because he's just gone.
Can't think of anymore right now, so I'll leave it there. lmaooo. Lots of complaining, but complaints just stand out to me, and it's not really about the writing. Just SUPER annoyed at the characters. oof. The family dynamics just feel less this season. Granted, no one's had leisure time, so they're all prime assholes right now, hell even Five was keeping most shit to himself the first season. (But Five is at least progressing at quite a quick pace considering he's been fighting of apocalypse after apocalypse within a month, I believe?)
